“Why? Why would you do this? I am Immortal, I am Death - why would you risk yourself for me?” The mortal only gleamed weakly, crimson trickling down her jaw. You see, she knew these things, these secrets about him, but that never mattered; he was the love of her life, and she would sooner guard him from harm than see it inflicted. Humans are positively ludicrous like that, absolutely foolish - especially about love. “Because I love ya, dear. Ain’t it obvious yet?”

Would you say that the Black Butler fandom makes up of more teenage girls now? And I'm curious to see an older fan's perspective on us younger fans (I'm 16). Most of you don't seem to like us, because a lot of younger fans of the series tend to be seen as "cringey fangirls" and it doesn't help that a lot of them ship Sebaciel too.
I don’t really know the demographics of the fandom (it’s actually quite diverse), but the teen fans might still make up the bulk of it, since they are more likely to pick up the series. However, if you are just wondering how it *looks to me*, particularly in the western fandom? The younger fans tend to be more into Sebaciel, yes, but they also tend to ship Cielizzie, Ciellinde, etc. Grelliam and Claudiataker fans maybe tend to be a bit older, possibly since those characters are also older?I’d say the teens and twenty-somethings are way more into discourse, too, like Grelle’s gender identity and sexuality. Older fans, like myself, will sometimes discuss these topics, but we prefer to *avoid all the hate* over it. **These characters are not ours**, and older fans are maybe less likely to project themselves onto their favorite characters... or get quite as emotional over how *others interpret them*. I, for one, defer to whatever Yana-san actually says about characters like Grelle, and I’m *much more interested in the things Grelle says and does in canon* than how people within the fandom choose to label the character. The only label I’ve used is “okama”... and only because Yana-san also uses it. It’s a rather *inclusive* term that is well-understood in Japan and some other Asian countries... but really hard to properly explain to a western audience... or be accepted by it. I gave up using pronouns for Grelle because idk what to use without getting flack for it. 😐 Like I’ve said before, Grelle... is Grelle... and that’s interesting enough for me.And kinning with characters seems to be more common among the younger fans. There are various reasons for this, which I won’t go into here. It’s just way too complicated. The last thing I’ll say here is that it also seems to mostly be younger fans who are complaining about the pace of the arcs and questioning Yana-san’s writing skills. Then again, the main reason I don’t complain much about that is probably because the pace matches up with my Mother3 theory. As far as her writing is concerned, I think she’s actually doing a pretty darn good job, and I commend her and her staff for all the research they’ve done over the years. Anachronisms and historical inaccuracies have been explained by it being an AU from the very start... and it’s suggested that reapers have access to some knowledge of the future, too... and that reapers and demons can affect how quickly humans advance in their knowledge and technology. It’s even explained *within canon* that some humans are getting hold of advanced technology that they shouldn’t have yet (which also fits with Mother3 theory, since that’s how the *whole problem* started in the *original installment* of the game series). And we are now seeing loose ends getting tied quite nicely. Is it perfect? No, but who can name an author who has always connected the dots perfectly? Particularly over such a long series?Ahaha. This must read like a rant. I don’t mean for it to be. *Not all younger fans* are into problematic ships, dive into discourse or get too worked up over characters that don’t belong to them, or hate on the author for not pleasing them at all times. *Some older fans* DO do these things. New fans (young or old) tend to calm down a bit over time, but since there are new fans joining as people pick it up, we will still see this fervent behavior within the fandom... probably for a long time, somewhat even after the series ends... though it might not be as severe then, since they will be able to read it through without the wait. By then certain questions will have been canonically answered that have caused so much argument within the current fandom. I’m looking forward to that....I just...• avoid shipping minors with anyone (unless it’s in the future, once they are adults),• prefer to stick to canon ships (or ones likely to become canon),• try to avoid discourse that gets people riled/overly emotional about someone else’s characters,• let kin-types do whatever feels right to them, • appreciate what Yana-san and her staff come up with... and• do my theory thing.

Personally, I don’t think I could see how Claudia can be resurrected. The decay has long since set in and she is long gone. HOWEVER,
IF Undertaker was wanting to resurrect her, the imagery of him pulling a Victor Frankenstein in wanting to craft the perfect body is what I think of, which the Bizarre Dolls do seem to be a very faint nod to in terms of story inspiration. The Undertaker’d probably want to craft the perfect bod that won’t fail her, and not only that, but looks eerily similar to the original. There’s differences, and she probably looks a touch unnerving since he’s crafted her from the foot up, but the resemblance is striking. He’s worked his craft to make it as close to how Claudia looked in his mind’s eye.
Bizarre Dolls cannot claim a soul that isn’t their own, but none of the dolls we’ve seen (that I recall) have their original souls outside of possibly R!Ciel. A Bizarre Doll rejects, but can a soul reject once it’s been offered? It’s the soul’s own volition. Who’s to say the Undertaker didn’t harvest Claudia’s soul before she bit the bullet? He was a legend back in his day, so him taking her soul before another reaper could dare sounds feasible. Chalk it up to the possibility of a demon having stole it, as demons are a pox on the Shinigami society when it comes to reaping.
Perhaps the body needs something from the original to fully coax the soul into an attempt at fusing; Claudia’s skeleton could be that. There’s plenty of artwork that has the Undertaker posing with a dressed up skeleton, usually held quite affectionately. What if that skeleton is Claudia’s, and what if that’s the coaxing mechanism to bind her soul to a physical form for resurrection?
Very messy, if so. Yuck. But if Undertaker’s anything, it isn’t squeamish, or lacking determination.
While this seems like a stretch, it’s what I can theorize based on what we know so far. Of course I could be wrong, my manga knowledge has superiorly rusted and I’m no doubt missing key details. Which is fine, this is just a slapdash fun theory post and nothing too serious.
The Bride of Frankenstein. The Bride of Undertaker.

just got hit by the most vivid image of UT doing the shit he do: popping out of a coffin and spooking the hell out of the people who come to seek his aid, speaking obscurely and invading their personal space, making them visibly uncomfortable and tittering.
when suddenly claudia just laughs and says “I swear to the Gods, you were made for me.” and him just, “ . . . . . 😳” while the others give the both of them a disgusted sort of look.
