Check out the colorful artwork on this collection of music from Mega Man Battle Network 2. Pressed to vinyl via Ship to Shore PhonoCo in 2023. This album boasts 33 tracks on one LP. That’s the full soundtrack, made physical, with multiple color variants for the LP. Although you can’t tell, the album pictured below is the “Materia Store-exclusive tricolor vinyl” which comes in a red, white, and blue colorway.
The Game Boy Advance 2001 release was composed by longtime Capcom composer, Yoshino Aoki. Best known for her work from the Mega Man, and Breath of Fire series, before going freelance and contributing to music from publishers such as Square-Enix and former employer Capcom.
Have you played this game since it launched on the GBA over 20 years ago? Either original, or the Battle Network collection? What is your favorite track from the game? and do you own this vinyl?
Learn more about the album at the Mega Man Battle Network 2 Original Video Game Soundtrack page on VGMdb and learn more about the vinyl on Discogs.

18 March 2023: Life’ll Kill Ya, Warren Zevon. (2023 Ship to Shore PhonoCo./ Entertainment One reissue of 2000 Artemis release)
Between 2000 and 2003, Warren Zevon released three albums on the fledgling Artemis label (promo copies of the first, Life’ll Kill Ya, first surfaced in 1999). This was the final chapter in a long musical career; his self-disowned 1969 solo debut on Imperial Records notwithstanding, I divide Zevon’s solo work into four periods based on what label he recorded for at any given time: the Asylum years (1976-82), the Virgin years (1987-89), the Giant years (1990-95), and the Artemis years (2000-03). Aside from his labels, these four periods, at least to me, represent four different musical periods for Zevon. I suppose that would seem obvious, but what I mean is his Asylum albums are nothing his Virgin albums, and so on. Note that between most of these periods there are significant gaps, generally up to five years. (His first Giant album in 1990 isn’t a solo work, it’s the Hindu Love Gods project where he sang lead on a variety of cover tunes for a Michael Stipe-less R.E.M.)
The Artemis albums all received vinyl pressings in previous years, but in microscopic pressings I never even encountered, always believing until very recently that they were eternally CD-only. Two of these earlier vinyl pressings were issued by the tiny Brooklyn label Ship to Shore, which I’ve never seen in any context outside of Zevon vinyl. Life’ll Kill Ya didn’t appear on vinyl until 2020; 2001′s My Ride’s Here not until 2018; his final album The Wind actually got a real-time vinyl issue by Artemis when it was new in 2003, which now commands ridiculous prices—there are two copies on eBay at the moment, both $800. I don’t know what inspired Ship to Shore to do another pressing of Life’ll Kill Ya so soon, but I’m glad they did, for 2020 originals are quite expensive and this is my favorite album of the Artemis years. (The Wind would  go on to be reissued for Record Store Day 2023—more on that later—so that just leaves My Ride’s Here before I can have a complete Zevon vinyl collection from this last period of his life. Zevon died not long after he released The Wind.
Above are the front cover, hype sticker showing this to be on “Smoking Skull vinyl” (Zevon’s logo for ages was a rendering of a skull smoking a cigarette), and the back cover. The jacket is very glossy, hence the back cover being at an angle to avoid my reflection. Note that the back cover lists the song “My Shit’s Fucked Up”; this song was present on original CD issues, but Artemis declined to show its title on the back cover, jumping straight from track 8 to track 10.
Below are front and back of the insert, and then the insert unfolded to reveal its interior.
