Wanted to try my hand at coming up with a Pokemon team inspired by Hikaru Shidou from Magic Knight Rayearth! My thoughts were ...

Arcanine: Hikaru’s Mashin is, of course, the titular Rayearth, who appears as a fire-themed wolf. So I figured Hikaru needed a fire puppy! And I think she’d love to hug a big fluffy Arcanine. [:

Honedge: All three girls have swords, but Hikaru in particular does kendo, so it felt right to give her a sword themed Pokemon. And the shiny one is even red.

Charcadet: A little fire warrior for my favorite fire warrior!

Lycanroc (Dusk Form): A more wolf-y dog for Hikaru. Dusk form because the color suits the overall fire theme.

Litleo: I also wanted to give Hikaru a cat, because she often has cat ears in the gag scenes. Litleo, in addition to being a part fire type, also has a fun, energetic vibe, that felt right for Hikaru’s personality to me. They can have adventures together!

Sunflora: Because she has a sunny personality!

And of course, even in a Pokemon AU the magic knights would still be accompanied by ... Mokona:

I have been hunting this lil beauty for 4 YEARS and now I have one of my top 3 fav Shinies of all time

realized i wasn't that far off from finishing my galar dex for the shiny charm so i went out and caught what i could in-game, and did what any person with way too many games would...

traded with myself on my 3ds's in gen 6 for a couple of trade evos, specifically slurpuff and aromatisse

(and not shown but also take a quick jaunt to alola in sun for a turtonator since i don't wanna fiddle with my system clock for the weather conditions to be *just right* for the thing to show up)

now all i need is escavalier which i think is a mon you can get in dynamax adventures which is fine by me.

also, update on the main reason i'm doing all this, i've hatched 95 honedge so far. no dice. one more group of eggs and i'll have hatched the same amount it took last time, which really was a clean 100.

and as an aside, i had pokemon amie open on the bottom screen as i was hatching a spritzee to evolve and trade up and

it made me smile to see people still playing gen 6 in 2024. c:
