those are awesome pokemon!!! you have really good taste! i haven’t played pokemon recently but i love sylveon and even have a lil sylveon plush :)) i also love shiny umbreon as well. mimikyu is awesome and i love them. i really love corviknight and shiny corviknight they look so cool. i also really like chandelure‘s design its really pretty. i like how torterra has a tree on its back its cool hahah :)) i think ditto is a funny lil guy and i love ditto

also i cant believe i forgot to mention my love of shiny azumarill! Azurill was my first shiny, i got it through a wondertrade and it was probably hack but i named it peapod bcz it looked like two peas but when it became an azumarill it looked more like an egg. When i found a shiny marill in scarlet i had to name it eggpod!! (shout out to seapod, my regular azumarill mainstay in shining pearl)

a post i saw on here inspired me to do something stupid, and check to see which Pokemon don't OFFICIALLY have any plushies, I'm going based off the official Pokemon center website, and am checking it for literally every Pokemon. I'll do this generation by generation, not all at once lol (although if i were like 8% more mentally ill, i would do it all at once..)

So, i guess this is the Kanto post.

what's interesting is that MOST Kanto Pokemon absolutely have a plushie, but some of the less popular ones (i'm assuming?) only have a smaller plush from a line where they are sitting down (called sitting cuties, if you're interested)

Also most Kanto Pokemon are in like, every fucking game and it's very tiring checking the 14 different version of each mon, but it's worth noting that most alternate forms of Pokemon (at least in Kanto) have plushes as well. Just in case you were specifically looking for a Galarian Weezing Plush, or whatever.

Alright, after looking at the site, turns out literally every single Pokemon in Generation 1 has a plushie, so here are some fun facts:

There are seventy-five different Pikachu plushies!

The next Pokemon with the highest number of plushies is Ditto, with 21!

Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, there is no Missingno merchandise :(

In the site listing, when looking specifically for Kanto Pokemon, some unexpected Pokemon show up, namely Garchomp, Hattrem, and Wailord. That's because there's a plush of Pikachu dressed as both Garchomp and Hattrem, and there's a plush of both Pikachu and Eevee riding a Wailord

The only Gen 1 Mega Pokemon to get a sprite, is Mega Shiny Gengar, for some reason.

The following Gen 1 Pokemon have Gigantamax plushes, and they all look really stupid! Snorlax, Charizard, Meowth, Gengar, Pidgey, and Pikachu! A couple of them of them come in different sizes, with some of them being pretty big! Such as...

THE GIGANTAMAX MEOWTH IS 5 AND A HALF FEET TALL.

Ditto plush! I had this Ditto already cut out ever since I made the shiny one lol. So 1-2 years already? I don’t remember haha. So now with a relatively good time schedule, I said, might as well complete started projects!

My machine sewing definitely improved significantly! So that is a plus! I also got to practice the whip stitch again, it has been a while after all.

Again I used plastic eyes, since I still feel like, that it suits the plush a lot better.

Mikrofaser Plüschstoff from Kullaloo, it’s super soft fabric. Polyester stuffing and yarn and plastic eyes. Pattern by Seams Like Sarah.

So, another project that has been sitting in my shelf waiting, completed haha.

Warning for some spoilers ahead!

I figure out a lot about the characters as I write, so all of this might not be set in stone, but for now I think Janus' first Pokémon was Mawile. She's Janus' ace and has been with him the longest. She has a very serious and stalwart personality with a secret soft side for some of the younger Pokémon on Team Rocket's team. (Mainly Ditto and Clobbopus.)

Her Mega Evolution (which I haven't written about yet) has two mouths on the back of her head instead of one, and it makes me think of how Janus' face is split between his human side and his snake side. She's also classified as a "deceiver" and she's yellow, so I thought she was the perfect fit for Jan. :)

Ditto likes to pull pranks by transforming into copies of Team Rocket's Pokémon. It spends most of its time underneath Janus' hat and helps Team Rocket out by transforming into whatever Pokémon suits the job they need to get done. It doesn't always get the transformations right though, often making small mistakes, which is meant to mirror Janus getting tiny things off about the other Sides while impersonating them in the series. I think Ditto can be a lil self-conscious about this, but Janus gives it a lot of praise to boost its confidence. It's best friend's with Remus' Rattata.

Shiny Arbok has a fierce and prideful personality, especially when he first met Janus. Team Rocket was sent to a laboratory to cause some mischief, and Janus found Arbok (or Ekans, I haven't decided yet) as one of the Pokémon being mistreated there. He stole Arbok from the lab and they've been partners ever since.

Arbok wouldn't listen to Janus' commands for a long time, but eventually, Janus earns his trust and Arbok becomes a loyal member of his team. :') He is also close friends with Mawile.

Sacagawea (or Morpeko) is the sweetest Pokémon on Team Rocket while she is in Full Belly Mode. She goes to Janus for cuddles and snacks, but I think she has formed a very particular pallet. She has great taste and refuses anything below her standards. This is due to Janus spoiling her with sophisticated meals, but her greatest weakness is cookies, which she is not too picky about. She's bonded with Janus enough that she has offered him and the other Pokémon food when they are upset, which, for a Morpeko, is very significant. She also has a mischievous streak but most of her "pranks" are stealing meals from high end restaurants.

In her Hangry Mode, she is quite violent, with Team Rocket as well as the other Pokémon. Mawile is the only Pokémon who Sacagawea will listen to in this mode.

I picked out Morpeko because it's called "the two-sided Pokémon" and also because of Janus' comments about Sacagawea the Hamster in the anniversary video. (This is also why I named her Sacagawea lol.) I also think Sacagawea might have been a gift to Janus from Mr. Mysterious Orange Side™ but ... that really depends on the character reveal for Orange for me to be certain.

Onto Remus!!

I think Rattata was Remus' first Pokémon. He is very playful and out of his Pokéball most of the time, opting to ride on Remus' head or his shoulder. Remus makes a lot of cute lil outfits for him like his green sash and maybe even a tutu to match him! ;)

Rattata doesn't battle too often, usually cheering for the others on the sidelines, but on rare occasions, he can be passionate and formidable in battle. He is usually given other tasks such as sneaking into small spaces, stealing belongings off of people without being noticed, unlocking doors, keeping a lookout, etc. He loves walking around on his hind legs and is a talented tap dancer.

Banette and Trubbish (now Garbodor) used to live together on the streets. Banette met Trubbish when he was thrown away as a plush doll. He quickly became possessed and turned into a Pokémon, and the two formed a close friendship.

I chose Banette for Remus because of the surrounding lore of it becoming a Pokémon over its grudge for being junked. It reminded me of how Remus was discarded as a creative aspect for Thomas. Also, ghost types are generally seen as spooky and scary, so I thought it was a good fit for him.

As for Garbodor ... what isn't more fitting for Remus than a giant pile of trash?? Though, I think Garbodor is actually quite sensitive, as most people avoided it for its smell, leaving it feeling lonely before Remus. It is extremely affectionate and likes to embrace Team Rocket a lot, much to Janus' chagrin and to Remus' delight. Garbodor also loves to "decorate" itself with trash that it finds pretty. 🥺

Basically, Banette and Garbodor felt abandoned or alone before Remus came into their lives. Now they both get a lot of love and attention. :')

Clobbopus is the baby of the group. I was trying to find an octopus Pokémon for Remus, but the only one I found was Tentacruel, and that didn't really speak to me. I read about how Clobbopus investigates things through punching them with its tentacles, and I was like ... yup, that's the one for Remus. I love the image of it constantly punching Remus (out of affection, of course, haha!)

Clobbopus is very curious about the world and is prone to walking off and getting into dangerous situations, which results in Mawile and the others running after him and protecting him, even though Clobbopus has extraordinary strength for a baby Pokémon. He is very attached to Remus, often embracing the side of his face with his tentacles and refusing to let go. Clobbopus sees Janus' Mawile as a mother figure and is also quite spoiled by everyone on the team.

Lastly, I really want to give Remus a Grafaiai ever since it's reveal! It looks so fitting for Remus, so I will have to explore that with the next Pokémon fic I write.

...He's not entirely sure how to go about kissing Ditto as it seems that Ditto doesn't really have solid lips to kiss with - so he settles for a more creative solution - a plush of an adorable mascot, holding a chocolate Kisses - and several little chocolate Kisses scattered around it to match!

Ditto didn't know what these strange shapes in white foil were, but the cute Cinnamoroll toy was more than welcome! Ditto had seen it in stores before, admired the pictures and adored the fuzziness, but it had never gotten one before!

It glomped the stuffed toy first thing, then turned its attention to the strange shapes surrounding it and glanced up at Ryuji, confused. What were these? There were little papers sticking out the top. They all had letters printed on them, though some were cut off, their words impossible to make out. Ditto found one that seemed complete, though, and tried to read it out in its mind.

KISSES...?

Kiss? It glanced at another.

HERSH... and then the letters were cut off.

Hersh Kiss?

Upon closer inspection, it seemed that the white stuff was actually removable. It must've been a packaging, like toys had. Or, no, a wrapping, like candies had! Ditto struggled, wrestling with the foil until it accidentally ripped it, revealing beautiful, rich chocolate underneath!

CANDY

Ditto kept tearing off the white shiny stuff clumsily before it swallowed the candy whole. So... sweet! Ditto beamed at Ryuji, ecstatic! It was clearly very grateful!

How do you feel about your worlds rampant exploitation of pokemon as a media franchise that makes money and nothing more, simply beating a horse who, while not yet dead, is laying on the ground, resigned to its fate?

haha, as a Ditto, it's horrifying, and if they ever find me, oh Arc, but, they still haven't made a plush of me yet so until it's done, I'm not satisfied (for reference I mean a shiny Ditto). Also the games, while unsettling, are entertaining, it means I can say I technically own shiny Pokémon that aren't literally me, also, I understand why people hunt them now, the good brain chemicals rush when I hear that sparkle sound, still not happy about the people who tried to catch me... I still think I may have broken Silph's promise about the master ball being unbreakable... Ooh boy do I have a bit of trauma relating to Pokémon breeders to unload soon too... Overall, as a shiny Ditto, it's way worse in the Pokémon world but I miss my home and tribe.
