Senri Shiki as a KOPP- Headcanon

A/N: KOPP is a Dutch term that stands voor 'Kind van Ouder(s) met Psychiatrische Problemen' meaning 'Child of Parent(s) with Psychiatric Problems', related closely to KOV- 'Kind van Ouder(s) met Verslavingsproblemen'/ Child of Parent(s) with Addiction issues. As a KOPP myself, I hereby talk about the things I notice in Senri.

-Parentification. Senri at an early point of his childhood was robbed of his sense of being a regular kid and was forced to grow up too fast so he could take care of his mother's emotional needs. -The way he flops around and doesn't really knows how to take care of himself in some ways shows how Senri wasn't raised to take care of himself, rather to take care of others. He really has to figure some stuff out on his own and that's why he feels so happy he has Rima and Takuma that he can depend upon because raising yourself is such a difficult task. -Senri is honestly conflicted most of the time about how he feels about his mother. At one point, he cares for her greatly and is worried about her constantly yet at the same time he wishes he could abandon her and the responsibilities she places on him and finally get the chance to be himself for a change. -Whilst Senri was initially attracted to Rima because of her fierce aura, he fell in love with her because of the way she constantly is there to emotionally support him when he needs someone. -He always wondered to what degree his mother's ramblings about how terrible his father was were true considering her unstability, but after getting possessed by his father he understood the depth of the horror his father was. It traumatized him more then he lets on, because he's used to keeping his feelings to himself. -Rima is the primary one to help him on his issues with poor boundaries after the Rido incident. Being raised the way he was, he actually never developped proper boundaries as his mother overrode those constantly. -It's why Rima is so touchy about the Rido subject. She knows how deeply it hurt him and is trying to prevent him from getting triggered. -Senri's rakugo performances are one way for him to let go. He can just unwind and have fun whilst performing, which is something he rarely gets to experience. -He also has minor socializing issues because of the fact he was robbed of his childhood. Sometimes, he feels so out of touch with people his age that he honestly doesn't knows how to relate to them. -Whilst Takuma isn't as badly parentified as he is, Takuma was prepared for certain duties at a young age which is how he understands both Senri and his cousins, the Kurans. Senri honestly feels blessed he has someone who understands what his emotional needs are and once Rima came along he basically had his two support pillars to guide him into adulthood. -Whilst Senri never became besties with Yuki, they understood each other as family and Senri actually enjoyed the addition of having a cousin. -Knowing that Rido has had another child generally leaves Senri conflicted as well. At one point, he doesn't wants to open that well of trauma again yet at the same time he is curious about his sibling. Rima told him that she would be there for him if he ever decided to track down Rido's other child and yet again, Senri felt nothing but gratitude for having Rima at his side.

I just had the most nonessential crossover come to me in a dream.

Katekyou Hitman Reborn!/Vampire Knight, where the driving point is that Yuuki awakens her Sky Flames the exact moment she perceives that she needs to rip jolly old uncle Rido's head off because otherwise he's going to kill her Sun and Lightning, (Zero and Kaname respectively).

Like, that entire dream just straight up devolved into a fucking bar Brawl between Yuuki and Rido while others observe. It was strangely beautiful.

Zero doesn't have a chance to even talk with Ichiru before Yuuki pulls Rido's heart out of his chest cavity.

For refrence, I have since figured out her entire element scheme.

Sun - Zero Kiryuu (Fully Harmonized Upon Activation. Most definetly doesn't cry like a little bitch upon said moment. No siree, completely dry-eyed, whatever Ichiru says is a bald-faced lie.)

Lightning - Kaname Kuran (Their Flames brush upon Activation, and while Yuuki Is Very Much MINE she's also too weak to have more than a very surface level bond with him, which contributes to their continued lack of romance in this AU. Ten thousand years man, it does shit to your Flames. He's really fucking lucky Bermuda hasn't sensed a Disturbance and come to hound his ass over certain aspects.)

Mist - Shiki Senri (Reported: Cousins get on like a house on fire when they team up to beat the shit out of the formers abusive father. Seriously, full blown Harmonization the moment he realizes that she is, legitimately, trying to goudge out his fathers brain.)

Storm - Wakaba Sayori (Fully Harmonized Upon Activation. The one Guardian you don't wanna piss off amongst the line-up. The one who actually has to explain Flame Fuckery to everyone.)

Cloud - Aidou Hanabusa (This is probably the least secure of her bonds because it happens in direct accordance with Shirabuki Sara trying to force a bond down her throat as a safety-net to keep her alive in case her plans fail. Hanabusa... yeah, he doesn't take it well.)

Rain - Ichiru Kiryuu (Who summarily survives this AU because there are exactly two ways to escape a Sky's harmony, and one of them is most definitely not fucking dying. Seriously. Latent Sky Instincts have Yuuki badgering this little idiot until he decides that Spite is only going to frustrate him in the long run. Kid is too afraid to die once Yuuki's flames go active, because he knows she will become a fully fledged necromancer in his honor.)

Probably to actually bring in over the crossover cast proper via Simon Fuckery. #Nagisa. The name I typically attach to Kaien's presumed Hunter Twin. Was a Sun Flame like Zero. #The only Sea Flame in this entire cast is probably Abyss Secondary-Raim Primary Touya Rima.

She’s Rima’s twin… I laid down on the dry, green, grass feeling the wind caressing past me like a ghost. It is a hot midnight and I found my throat burning with thirst although, I never drank a blood before; never tried it; never interested to. I’m like a human but with fangs.

“Rina, what are you doing?” Auburn hair, penetrating brunette eyes, straight but spiked down hair and, white flawless skin; that’s Senri: Rima’s acquaintance. “My throat is burning; I want an apple.” “I brought one, because I knew you would say that.” “Thank you.” Did you know? He always gives me an apple… “What’s your name?” “…”

“No name?” “I… Rima…” “So you’re Rima’s acquaintance… So, what is your name?” “Shiki… Shiki Senri…” “Hey I know you… I heard about you… you are called… hmm… a puppet? Hey Senri… why are you called puppet?” “I… mummy… mummy said if I want her to calm down… I should just be quiet and be a good bo-… puppet…” “Hmn… if you are a puppet, you can’t make your own decision. Even us five-year-old's are allowed that at least right?” “I-“ “Why are you crying Senri?” “…” Don’t cry… I’ll come sit next to you, see…” “…” I shouldn’t have blabbed. You are here for Rima, but unfortunately, she isn’t available because she’s not home.” “…” “It’s nearly sunrise… are you hungry?” “…I,” “Your face is nearly colourless like the blood has been drained out of you.” “I’m… hungry… I… blo-“ “Do you need blood..?” “…” “Hmm… ok, but just this once and in return, you have to bring me an apple.” “Yeah…” Pashrkk!! Did you know? This is our secret. Now that I am at the age of seventeen, I always often wondered what it is like to taste blood. But drinking blood tablet once a day sufficed so I never really went out of my way to taste one. I also really liked apple, so it was whatever. 

I finished my apple and I had nothing to do but stare at nothingness while me and Senri sat next to each other. How rare, usually Senri and Rima are inseparable like two conjoined magnet. I yawned just thinking about it; can’t be bothered trying to comprehend the monotonous dual; it would be like trying to understand the aspect of Kuran Kanama himself. “Rina… I’m dying…” “Again?” I asked while yawnning again. “Are you dying again like the first time I fed you?”

“Yes, like the time when we first met, I’m dying. Please cure me,” “Nah, I don’t feel like it, ask Rima, Senri.”

“… I don’t want… anyone’s bloods other than yours Rina” Pashrkk!! “Hmm… ok, but just this once. And in return, you have to bring me an apple.” I negotiated while wincing at the sharp pain on my neck. I felt his fang sinks in deeper when he nodded, “What does it taste like Senri?” Did you know…?

Gulp Everlasting Apple Exist… “It tastes like an apple…”

This is honestly pure word vomit I didn't bother to proofread but it will satisfy all the delulu girlies out there. Shoutout to Senri Shiki, this is for you bbg <3

It surprises him really, how all it took was that innocent child-like smile for everything to change. His views of the world seeming less dark and voided as it was now filled with clear skies, not a single cloud as he has deemed you fit to be his own personal sun, lighting up the solar system and anything else your rays could reach.

It concerns him really, how easily you managed to shake his already brittle heart, damaged from the things of this world he thought he could rely on, he thought that he could freely embrace but at last, nothing good ever stays for long. He tries, he truly tries to be less voided. Of his emotions and overall being, but the journey he had since birth reinforced it as an act of self defense.

It confuses him really, how you chose him over the thousands of suitors who could give you better. A life on a pedestal he could not reach, a place that you knew all your life that was always so out of reach for him. He doesn't see himself as anything special despite how often you tell him otherwise. He wasn't depressed or suicidal, simply a bit conflicted with himself since birth but managed to live a life many envied but was insignificant compare to how you held the stars in your hands.

He didn't care about what you had access to, what material possessions you could gain at the snap of your fingers and definitely not how the world viewed you. The thoughts and opinions of the world are something he doesn't consider worth listening to anymore, a voice he, himself forcefully silenced as nothing but broken promises and baseless relationships echoed in his mind. But you were different, you were genuine with no intention to deceive. An angel sent from above that worked with his roughly clipped wings and nothing more, you just wanted him.

It calms him really, how your presence always sparks this feeling deep inside to treasure you. No matter what you did he saw no wrong within your actions and he knew he was foolish for it but he couldn't care less. The word "no" was something completely foreign in his vocabulary when it came to you, your sweet words and loving caresses were like a lullaby slowly healing his troubled soul. The need to protect you from the wicked way of the world was so tempting, a calling is how he puts it. Because he swore he would bring the world down, him included if necessary, if it meant keeping that beautiful smile of yours still full of sincerity and love when you looked at him.

He is an aristocrat, a model, and one of the youngest Night Class students. Later on, it is revealed that he is the illegitimate son of Rido Kuran and through that the cousin of Kaname and Yuki. Shiki's last name is a combination of shi, meaning "to support" and ki, meaning "mallow"--a flowering plant with pink or white blossoms. The ri in Senri is a traditional Japanese unit of measure for distance, and one ri is about 2.44 miles. Senri means "1,000 RI." Shiki possesses a personality similar to that of Rima Toya. He is usually impassive and often detached to the rest of the vampires except for Rima and Ichijo. He rarely expresses emotion and may seem like he doesn't care about his surroundings. Because of his reserved nature, he keeps to himself and never has much to say, but when he does, he can be very blunt with his comments. When the Night Class is given orders to hunt down a Level E vampire, Shiki is usually the one hunting them. He and Rima both share a love for Pocky, often seen sharing it when they are together; she feeds it to him as if he is a child. Like all other vampires, Shiki does not like to be under the sun and can often be seen walking around with Rima under her parasol in daylight. Laidback to the point of seeming apathetic, Senri does not have much of an interest in anything and possesses little motivation, although he is responsible for his modeling career and duties. A follower by nature, he became quite attached to Takuma Ichijo – a natural leader, who was always prompting him to try new things. Because of his mother’s mental illness, Senri learned to become a quiet ‘doll’ who didn’t cause trouble or make her worry. He seems to think little of himself and lets people use him, prompting his friend Rima Toya to encourage him to stand up for himself more. After being possessed by his father, Rido Kuran, and being used to hurt people he cares about, including Rima, Senri does begin to stand up and fight for himself and appears less apathetic afterward.

Their relationship is so sweet. Throughout the manga Shiki was staying close to Takuma so he could help him any way he could. I need more moment between these two. Like how did they even get to cuddling like this?? So sweet.
