people have mentioned that Galarian Slowking gaining a magic theme comes out of nowhere, but what they’re overlooking is that the Shellder has canonically taken over its body like a parasite. so what I’m getting at is that this clam
is really into black magic

I just noticed Pokemon has a lack of parasites in it's setting. I think we need more. =) One parasite I would like to see is a parasite like Lavos from Chrono Trigger. XD
Hi there! I’m going to put the discussion of this under the keep reading tab just because parasite talk
TW: real life parasites discussion, real life bug discussion
Pokemon does have a few parasites with Nihilego being the most famous one. But also let’s not forget the Paras and Parasect line which are both taken over by the parasitic mushroom on their body. Not to mention the parasitic relationship between Shellder and Slowbro and Slowking. And interestingly enough, both Gloom and Vileplume are based off of a parasitic plant from the genus Rafflesia.
So we do have a few Pokemon based off of parasites. However they don’t tend to design Pokemon based completely off of parasites like protozoa and helminthes like the Lavos creature you mentioned (the exception being Gloom and Vileplume as they are directly based off of the parasitic plant). I think that’s because if you’ve ever looked at a picture of a parasite they are usually pretty unnerving. I think that’s why it took so long for us to get even a mosquito and cockroach based Pokemon because both of those insects are often seen in a very negative light. And even then they tried their best to give both Buzzwole and Pheremosa funny or beautiful properties to make them less unnerving for players.
So while I won’t say it’s out of the realm of possibility to get a Pokemon that’s design is more like say a heartworm or tapeworm (I could definitely see that as a potential legendary in a future game) the Pokemon design team may be wary of making such a Pokemon as of now.

I didn't know Shellder could fly!
Well I don't know about "flying" but they do swim in a pretty graceful manner.
Now if you have ever seen one in the air, it's actually launching itself into the air due to its Hydrodynamic design.
Think like a rock skipping on a pond
Their underwater speed is actually pretty impressive, and if trained well enough, it could go pretty high in the sky!
Much like a Magikarp who's practiced it's splash attack to give itself some serious air.
Of course if you saw this in passing you might make the assumption it's flying

What pokemon are most associated with the Sami people from the Nordic countries?
The Sámi are most famously associated with Stantler. They’ve been engaged in Stantler herding for centuries, and it’s probably one of the best-known elements of their culture. They traditionally rely on Stantler for transportation, using them to travel across the arctic landscapes of far northern Scandinavia.
However, the Sámi have utilized many different kinds of Pokemon, though they are most associated with Stantler. In coastal areas, where fishing is common, many have utilized Spheal and its evolutions, and they remain popular partners across coastal regions of Sápmi. Other water-types, such as Shellder, are also used in coastal cities or towns like Tromsø (Romsa). In interior regions, the Sámi also historically and presently herded Mareep and Wooloo. For partner Pokemon, however, the Sámi - like most people in their countries and around the world - have relied on canine Pokemon, particularly Growlithe and Alolan Vulpix.

pokemon fandom i have a question please help
disclaimer i dont know a lot about actual pokemon logistics i just think the recent anime is neat
so let's say that hypothetically, I catch a shellder. It's in a pokeball i keep with me, its in my pokedex, its my closest friend and I love it very much.
I know that the way that slowpoke evolves into slowbro is by having a shellder bite its tail, according to official game logic, cause of something something tail taste good.
so if my shellder bites the tail of a slowpoke and it evolves into a slowbro, then what happens? is the slowbro technicaly mine now? do i get my shellder back if it breaks off or the tail gets cut off? is my shellder just gone now?
what if my shellder bites the tail of another trainers slowpoke? since slowbro is slowpoke's evolution, it would probably go to the other trainer I guess, but what about my shellder!!!! that's my boy!!!!!
if i tried to call my shellder back into it's pokeball while it was attatched to a slowbro, then what???
im much too concerned over this despite it not being something that could ever be a real problem

Something for fun, I vibe with Slowpoke on more occasions than not lol.
Made the hat to resemble the evolved Shellder instead of hair.
