Day 6, November 6th: Global Arts and Culture | What If

i've been on something of a mild horror/angst kick lately! a "What If" that always plagues me has always been "What if Tenzō didn't make it out of Root before he entered the narrative?"

it's not an AU i ever seriously plan to play with because it warps and breaks the canon narrative so bad, and it's just straight up unfun, but. every once and a while I get curious who "Captain Yamato" would have been, in that case, especially working alongside Sai still!

aphelios using emojis to communicate rather than typing out words ;___; he finds it difficult to say exactly how he’s feeling, especially when so many people are watching the debut of their band. he’s a perfectionist to a fault and doesn’t like for there to be any room for miscommunication or for his words to be construed any other way. it’s much harder for him to put his own thoughts into words, whereas songwriting, his emotions flow freely. as always, though, he’s a bit of a meticulous soul and holds himself to an extremely high standard. his anxiety is something that he’s learning to manage but with so much riding on the success of their group, not just himself but everyone else’s careers that were revitalized by their joint efforts, he’s rather not put himself in a position that could cost the others. so emojis he stays with for the time being. alune likes how they look, anyways.

This bit could covers the beginning of the Caleb origins comic pretty well, I think. First line, a smiley Bren heading into Rexxentrum, getting settled. Second line: excelling in his classes and getting picked by Trent alongside Astrid and Wulf. Third line is the haircutting and 'endurance training' with residuum. Fourth line starts with blumendrei cuddling up in the tower and then the 'lies' hits with Trent's grin as he sees them the next morning.

DANCE: What fortune is it that the two of them ( with the added bonus of all the new friends they accumulated in their journeys ) would be back at home, just in time for the Destiny Island's music festival. Too bad this big palm tree is being too much of a stubborn ass to join the fun, wall-flowering it up off to the sides.

Maybe Sora can convince him to let loose with the others a little.

By now they were hailed as heroes (even against the better judgment of one), part of Destiny Island's pride of joy, a representation of what it meant to carry their hearts out to the worlds.

Woven into the culture of the music festival had been a few shoutouts towards them. Good drink raised, and the rhythmic push of multiple instruments drumming up a symphony of their very own. Seeing so many familiar faces had made it inevitable that Sora would bask in this dance of life. Tidus and Selphie could be seen making a mountain of catch up with Kairi, as Wakka himself had joined as one of the showmen for instrument playing. After scouring the stars for brands of excitement, brands of self discovery, part of it felt ethereal to be active in this again.

Those days where he'd love to do the same exact thing. That said, growth of multiple veins had left to a different ground for his primary running man. Best believe that Sora had taken the initiative to sweep his gaze about for Riku. To no one surprise (and a sullen tug at his own heart), seeing the big lug situated in location akin to the shadows of their figures made his lips quirk in distaste. In a way.. Part of him gets it.

A lot in their lives has changed. For Riku, somehow the boisterous nature of those earlier days had grown lax, allowing for a more evolved state of his reserved nature. The question remains however if either guilt or shyness played part in eliciting this to be his primary plan.

"Yo Tidus? Hold on a sec, and make sure the guys don't dive into the punch bowl either! I want me some seconds!"

"Yeah yeah. Better not make a disappearing act for too long, or else!" That comment nudged a snort out of Sora before he wove through the small ocean of people, passing through stands and patrons alike as that sway of silver hair managed to be a beacon in where to approach.

Riku wouldn't even have a moment to prepare before the hero abruptly shows himself, virtually shooting out the crowd with a big, cheery grin.

"Sora--! Wha?"

"Ohhh no you don't. C'mere!"

"Spot warming isn't gonna make ya any good memories, y'know." His words were driven with a sense of mirth that held a serious undertone. Both of them realized it somewhere deep down as it leads to Sora joining him, arms tucked behind his head while an exasperated sigh spilled from his lips. Not even the novelty of fresh aromas of great meals, to even a few shoutouts towards him had switched his tune.

"Even if I find it fine enough here? Who else is going to take point in keeping an eye on you guys?" ! That bit immediately earned him a nudge from the shorter keybearer, in tune with that, an equally 'pointed' stare towards him.

"Who said we needed a leader in that to begin with? Don't go makin' that up for yourself, especially when we all looked after each other back then.. Erm, my crybaby days aside from when I was younger."

To hear that actually drew a ghost of a snicker from Riku frustrated as much as it relieved him. "And you say that like it hasn't changed. Aren't you the prime example of wearing your heart on their sleeve."

"And I remember you saying how you wanted to take after that at one point."

This manages to get a stunned breath to usher from the silver haired master. It was the truth, yet, there was a difficulty in actually allowing those more silent wishes to be actually heard. How could he when at one point, there was a willingness to throw this treasured sight to oblivion itself? Being swept within those thoughts led to contemplative silence, which led to Sora in actively pushing him towards the crowd.

"Riku.. Days like this, getting lost in the past or some idea in the future is going to make you miss it all. Believe it or not, there's still a great deal of people who care about you here."

"Who wants you to be a part of a few more memories."

Sora understands how this was a matter that wouldn't be immediately alleviated. All the same, there was a stir of desire to actually push towards creating these possibilities for him, to leave a little courage to try letting his voice experience laughter, his eyes to drink in these sights with renewed value..

To live a little more outside of his Guardianhood.

"This is the now we've fought and bled for. Isn't it important to take it for what it is too?"

getting to have a ttrp session for the first time in about a month ❤ warrior cats. my drama cat is named cottonpaw and I love her. she’s one of the very few lawful good characters I have, and oh boy

unprompted ask | always accepting | @wonderloste asked: "Hey. Look at me." Briar's finger trails along the side of Kiyoshi's neck in a subtle attempt to convince him to tilt his head upwards. His own calm disposition is matched only by the sincerity of the way he looks at him, boisterous mask shed in favor of something far quieter and far more genuine. The bustle of the bathhouse is muted around them, the March Hare's shoe pressed against the door he'd snuck off with him through to prevent it from opening, in the event anyone attempted to follow them. But the room wasn't in use right now, so he had no reason to put up an act. "Are you embarrassed?" He smiles, then clicks his tongue and moves his finger to instead tap the other man's lips. "I think ... you should kiss me, then." Is his teasing mean? Maybe. But he laughs hoarsely, under his breath. "Getting used to it will help you get over it..."

𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐮𝐩 as that cool finger trails along the side of his neck ( Briar’s hands and fingers are the cold to his warm ones always ). He knows that Briar is trying to convince him to tilt his head up, which he does after a moment. He at the March Hare through long lashes, bright red blush on full display for the other male to see now that he has tilted his head up. Hand reaches so that fingers might clutch the front of the others shirt, something a bit grounding in this moment of high embarrassment that he is experiencing.

❝ Yes .. I am embarrassed .. ❞ Comes small voice, carrying such an honest response to the others question. He was only ever honest with Briar, not that he was much of a liar to anyone else but he always made sure to speak up with honest words to Briar whereas with others he’d probably hold his words in and duck his head. He takes the time to breathe in, taking in another deep breath in an attempt to soothe some of those embarrassed nerves that he has ( of course that was probably impossible at the moment ). ❝ How could I not be ? ❞ Kiyoshi is a naturally easy person to embarrass but with Briar it’s always extra, the other making him blush brighter than he ever has in his life, making him stumble over words more than usual and just experience the most embarrassment ever.

The others finger tapping against his lips leaves a tingling behind, started by a jolt of shock at the simple tap. The others lips against his own would soothe that tingling in his lips, he thinks such a thought and immediately wants to duck his head and hide a new wave of embarrassment that crashes over him. He doesn’t duck his head though, instead holding the others gaze, pale eyes staying locked with Briar’s own gaze. ❝ Briar .. ❞ The others name spills past his lips quietly, almost sounding as if he was whining a bit ( as if the whining might stop the very much mean teasing that he knows Briar is doing ).

He listens to the others final set of words and decides that he will do exactly what Briar said, as if it was his own attempt at teasing the other in return ( but in reality they’re both getting a kiss that they both want so it is a win-win situation ). Other hand rises without warning, gently cupping the March Hare’s cheek as gentle smile settles onto the pink haired males lips. Then Kiyoshi is moving, leaning in and pressing lips against Briar’s own, kissing the male for a good few moments. Briar brought out a secret boldness that Kiyoshi had with ease, though he would still be an embarrassed mess before and after that moment where he is bold, there is still that brief moment in there where he can be bold. He pulls back eyes slowly opening ( when they had actually closed was lost on him but it made sense for them to have fluttered shut at some point ).

❝ You’re right. Kissing you does help. Since I’m feeling embarrassed again ... Should I kiss you again ? ❞ Maybe he had his moments where he could be a little cheeky too, as shown in this moment as mischievousness dances in those pale hues of his.
