OK so on Saturday I got to go to Milan to see the Cats Il Sistina tour and HOLY GOD IT WAS AWESOME. I'm glad I studied the character designs in advance because a lot of the costumes are really different. I'm not typically a huge fan of nonreplicas but Il Sistina may well change that!

I've compiled my thoughts on the show here! Nb, I do not speak Italian so I'm not sure how close to the original lyrics the translation is 😅

There were no green goggles, but the Cats did come in through the audience. I had an aisle seat and Cassandra walked right past me! She was right there and so beautiful omg.

I've gotta get in right at the start that Simone Ragozzino is my new all-time favourite Mungojerrie. The most ever! A little guy. He got most of the acrobatics that Tumblebrutus usually does - apparently Simone used to be an acrobat/gymnast so that makes sense. He and Rumpleteazer were sufficiently chaotic but also clearly valued and beloved members of the tribe. Idk man Simone just got it. Tumble-jerrie ftw. 

The cathedral from "round the cathedral" was changed to a Colosseum reference which I loved 😍

I'm obsessed with Demeter’s makeup from this tour actually. I'm personally not the biggest fan of cryptid-style makeup and looks in Cats in general, but I feel like Deme was balancing just on the edge and it really worked and I loved it. Maybe it was Viviana Salvo's acting as well - she was fabulous at toeing that line between stunning and unnerving!

Tugger and Munkustrap were super close! Munk was less annoyed by Tugger’s antics than normal and they did this thing at one point where Tugger was holding onto Munk who leant fully backwards off the edge of the stage - it was like a trust exercise and I was a fan. Their rendition of Old Deuteronomy was lovely and their voices worked so good together! Tugger was definitely Munkustrap’s second in command of the tribe. I wish Tugger was a bit more Tugger in appearance, he seemed very yellow with not a lot of detail on his costume, but the personality was hundo p present and accounted for. He did the "bite is worse than your bark" line in Jellicle Songs and legit barked at the end.

Jennyanydots was fabulous! Instead of a big coat she literally wore a giant ball of wool, and one of the props was giant knitting needles and the start of what might have been a giant scarf - it took 6 of the Cats to carry it. It actually worked super well for Milan, which is known for fashion and fabrics - there's even a giant sewing needle sculpture outside Cadorna Station! It was probably a happy coincidence but I enjoyed it!

Victoria's role was changed quite a bit, her solo was totally different and the pas de deux was gone. There also kinda just... wasn't the big small first touch Vic and Grizabella moment, which I was sad about, but if Griz's big moment wasn't "TOUCH MEEEEEE" in the translation, I'm not so bothered by it. I wish Vic had a bit bigger of a role because I love her, but she was killing it whenever she was on stage.

We are all stan pink Jemima, she had such a lovely voice too. Her and Alonzo were playing with a tennis ball during the interval and it was adorable.

My beloved Coricopat and Tantomile were lying in the Mouth of Truth prop after Moments of Happiness; they had their usual role of translating Old Doots through Jemima so I thought their placement here was deliberate! They weren't always fully in sync which I kinda liked, it was like they were allowed to be their own characters rather than just "the twins". I definitely got the impression that Tantomile was the older sister which hella backs up my hcs about her!

Gus was absolutely WILD. He comes in after Jellylorum has done her whole first part of the song in this raggedy old tradiotional Sherlock Holmes-style beige plaid coat instead of being there but kinda out of it the whole time. At first he wasnt keen on replaying any of his roles, but then all the others were like please please please and he relented. I think they were calling him (or his role) Romero? Idk if that's an Italian reference I just don't get? They did Pekes and Pollicles (one of the above had been changed to chihuahuas!) and then the bold Rumpus/Romero appeared... in a red satin bath robe and holding a sabre??? I need to look up this reference! Dude didn't just intimidate the pollicles, he straight up cut a couple of them down with his sword! Grandpa woke up and chose violence 😂

There was no trash train in Skimbleshanks 😭😭 there were giant glowstick things that changed colours though. Skimble and Bustopher were played by the same actor which is a combo I haven't seen before. Skimble was definitely still everyone's favourite train dad, all the characters were totally hyped for his song. HE DID TAP LIKE IN 2019. It was really cool how they did it, all the music stopped and he started a call and response tap dance with some of the other characters. The background showed an animated video of going through a train tunnel, like from the perspective of a train driver! The tap was gradually speeding up and became the sound effects of a train setting off and moving through the tunnel. I'm not explaining this super well but it was SO cool.

The Macavity Fight was quite different. There wasn't him disguised as Old Deuteronomy and then unmasked. What happened was he showed up and caused some shenanigans and then disappeared. There were about 4 of him around, so it looked like he was teleporting around the stage and audience! Bombalurina and Demeter performed his song which was absolutely fantastic (seriously how do these actresses actually manage to dance like that and sing at the same time?? Goddesses), after that he showed up again and the full cast was involved in the fight. Munkustrap still got the good choreography, but the whole tribe was involved trying to protect Old Deuteronomy. Tugger was definitely a protector in this production, he was very involved. Jerrie got KO'd a good few times, and Macavity absolutely destroyed poor Jenny! It felt like all of them were trying to protect their family and I really liked that. Despite that, Macavity was still able to win and successfully kidnap Old Doots!

Mistoffelees and Quaxo were besties, and Misto was REALLY enjoying Tugger's song I'm just saying. Delighted to announce Il Sistina Misto was a fruity little guy. He didn't get the terrible bore line, sad face, that went to Quaxo, but tbh idk how they translated that so it could be totally different! At one point Alonzo was holding him back at the start of Tugger’s song! We then saw a sponge-like Misto who picked up behaviours from the others around him, like he wasn't too sure of himself. This is actually one of my favourite Misto hcs so i was so chuffed to see it so clearly. He then helped Alonzo rein George (at least I think it was George!) in from going mental fanboy at Tugger. He was originally curious about Griz but then adjusted to hissing upon seeing the others. This fully went forward into his song. They did some big choreo changes. It was significantly less dance-heavy than traditional Misto performances and had a stronger focus on him being magic. There was a levitating box that they spent a lot of time with - Magician's Assistant Cass got in, but then she didn't disappear? She just popped back out again after the box had been rotated a few times. Some of the Kittens were waving their hands under the box to prove there was nothing holding it up and looking amazed which was adorable though. There was also a bit where Misto put some cards into a hat, the hat got passed down a line of Cats and then at the end they just sort of flew out? Like idk maybe they changed the lyrics where they're describing different magic tricks and it all makes sense! I THOUGHT THE CONJURING TURNS WERE GONE, but they were just moved to the very end of the song and cut down quite a bit.

Ok BUT LISTEN, à la 2019, the poor boy tried and failed twice to bring back Old Deuteronomy and then just sort of flopped in the corner all defeated but then BOYFRIEND TUGGER HELD HIS HANDS AND GOT RIGHT UP CLOSE AND WAS LIKE I BELIEVE IN YOU BABE and omg for real those actors knew EXACTLY what they were doing Tuggoff nation RISE. I'm always a red-sheet-turned-cape stan but I can definitely get behind the sparkly tail coat and playing card bowtie. He also had this handkerchief that he threw up in the air and it became a magic wand. I have no idea how and it was very silly so obviously I loved it. Although I wasn't massively into the choreo changes (ballet dancer Misto 5eva), Pierpaolo Scida was a magnificent Misto and I adored him - he was so cute! The little background actions and looks he did were so in character with how he interpreted Misto! Also he was beautiful you can't change my mind.

Malika was such an intense Grizabella - 10/10. She was proud but so vulnerable. She walked right past me when she first came in and lads, she did the whole show in these massive stilettos - absolute queen. At one point it literally rained on her on stage! During her first Memory, Old Deut was really watching her, and at the end of it he approached her, but she ran off when she saw him. I thought it was a super cool character moment, like she knew she wanted to be accepted, but wasn't quite ready for it. Even after the big Memory and Old Deuteronomy declared her the Jellicle Choice, Victoria approached her, but she was still too scared to let her, and it was Jemima who finally was able to reach her and bring her in. At the end she just kinda disappeared off stage - there were no flying tyres or magic stairs in the circus tent!

During the bit after the bows some of the cats were out in the audience and Tugger scared the absolute crap out of this one woman by poking his head in between her and the person sitting next to her. Iconic. Also during the latter part of the interval the audience was allowed to come up to the edge of the stage where some of the actors were goofing about in character. This mf pretended to cough up a hairball and now I have it on video. I also got some close ups of Teazer and the beautiful Bomba!

The Italian Junkyard was fabulous! It was mostly roman landmarks like Piazza Navona and Bocca della Verità, but there was also Michelangelo's David (which I'm pretty sure is in Florence) above the orchestra! There was also a giant marble foot, an Italian-style water fountain, and a broken column. My favourite prop was the bench, it's elevated at the back left of the stage and the cast were using it like a slide to enter the stage! Also it seemed to be Misto’s preferred location to lounge.

In conclusion, I will never get over this.

Allow me to present my Half propaganda!

- The slower tempo adds a very relaxing feeling to the song. Kinda ironic, but I like it! It sort of reminds of old indie songs from 2012 (especially with what I think is whistling added in the instrumental in-between chorus and verses.)

- Kazui’s voice. Enough said.

- It’s very easy to listen to, and I find it’s one of the only songs from Milgram that I like to listen to out of context (besides After Pain, Backdraft, and Purge March, oddly enough.)

- The MV is rife with imagery, and is used to beautiful effect. It really makes you feel for Kazui and his situation.

- The scene with him and Hinako before the key change… that makes me so emo.

- The overlapping part at the end… the lyrics combined with the dialogue in the background makes me really sad in a way I can’t explain.

Propaganda for MAGIC:

MAGIC MY BELOVED MAGIC!!! Its one of the best MVs in the entire series, even including T2. Magic is visually stunning and has some fantastic art direction but also is very clever in how it conveys its themes and ideas. Magic doesn't really hide anything from you, not really. It's all symbolic but it Tells You Things. It shows you the abuse, it shows you the cat. There's a fun little relationship going on here where, In Magic. Amane's pain and suffering isn't taken seriously by the people around her and the Audience we are discouraged to take it at face value due to the fictionalized nature of Magic. It's so cool. I'm so fond of the song as well, it's one of the best in the series purely cause of the Layers in it. The implications of this Inability to be good is seeped into Magic. Amane knows this isn't reality, Magic knows it's a show, she watches it at the end. And it's so Sad to me that even in her fictionalized happy world she Cannot be a good girl. It's a standard completely out of reach for her and that idea is just conveyed so well visually.

Im not even talking about the goddamn cat yet- the cat symbolism goes Deep. That cat is HER it has the same wounds Amane has in Purge March. I- I cant talk about the intertextuality of Purge March and Magic here this is Magic propaganda only- I- there's so much good stuff to Magic. I Re watched it over and over again. It has some the Best Writing and Visual Communication in Milgram and I will Die on this Hill.

there are SO many layers to itill the entire cartoony style making it look like a tv show… utilizing the cartoony effects and bright colors to show amane downplaying her own pain… the transformation after she gets punished barely changing anything to show just how manipulated she was from the start… ueueueue

The Bourgeois Family’s and Zoé Lee’s colors symbolize, civilian and akuma analysis:

Okay, hear me out on this one! It will be real quick I promise. So let’s get started, shall we? Also sorry for not having more of a better introduction to this post, I’ll be better next time I promise.

The Akuma Designs:

After looking at all of the akuma designs that the bourgeois family and Zoé Lee had including their concept art, especially Sole Crusher’s first design, I concluded. They all share common colors. They are black and yellow, you could also say red as well since both Heart Hunter and Antibug share that color between them. But the only design that doesn’t have yellow and black is Sole Crusher’s concept art where she is all blue vs her final design and why I begin this up it all makes sense you see. You can see this with all the akuma designs in the show shown here.

Why Colors are so important:

You want to know why these mean something because it shows how connected they are and mainly means Chloé, André, and Audrey. I get to Zoé a bit but right now let’s focus on these three first.

Okay, Chloé’s first akuma which was Antibug had primarily red and black which doesn’t mean anything in season one since André didn’t akumatized in season one and Audrey didn’t even show up in that season but surprisingly red does come back in Malediktator and Heart Hunter’s designs (I’m not counting when scarlet moth akumatized them since every akuma was red in those episodes because Scarlet Moth himself by the way) so red does show up in two of Chloé’s akumas in season 4 it doesn’t have that big of an impact, unlike the blacks and yellows in their designs.

Because they all have yellow and black in them, Antibug’s all-black suit with the red polkas, Style Queens having the blacks on her weird hair thing and black edges on her suit, Malediktator having the black stripes on his shoulder pads Queen Wasp also having a all black-suit with yellow stripes since she just Queen Bee Akuma but her colors flipped, Queen Banana having black stripes on her design like hair, dress, weapon, mask, and shoes/legs, finally Penalteam having black jersey, black fingerless gloves, her having black on her boots, and her sunglasses having black shades. They all use black as an accent color well except Queen Wasp (and Miracle Queen but I didn’t mention her since she is the same design as Queen Wasp but has a crown and armor on her) but it is worth noting that they all have black and more importantly yellow on their designs especially after Style Queen started it in season and the other designs expect Heart Hunter, Sole Destroyer, and Mayor Chloé in season five (if anyone actually cares but I don’t) which is honestly kinda fits since black is symbolic for evil and power which makes sense for all these akumas, their motivations, and more importantly what the crew thinks of their character since the very beginning, they were also seen as bad by everyone in the show and the crew. They all made a person sad or mad enough to get akumatized even to each other most importantly Audrey, who caused Queen Bee to get akumatized and André (addition Chloé as well) to get akumatized in the same season and the Queen’s battle arc. But these characters’ akuma all want some sort of power or control over someone. Malediktator is self-explanatory I mean it’s in the name, Style Queen wanted to fire anyone that she thought was unexceptional or disrespectful to her in her opinion, and Chloé’s akumas always share this broad goal of power (wanting to be the only hero and prove to her mother, wanted to play a soccer in her way so she can win, want to change a movie because her sister is in it, and again wanted to prove that she a hero to her used to be idol, Ladybug) so yeah the black works knowing what black is symbolism most of the time. But now what does yellow have to do with this?

A whole lot and I’m not even gonna go in depth where the yellow is placed on all of these designs except the ones I mentioned that didn’t have the yellow so I just said what yellow is symbolic for. Yellow in a negative way is used for cowardice, impatience, betrayal, and egotism and that last one is fitting since the bourgeois family all have big egos even if they are not an akuma especially Audrey since she is never shown to be insecure about something on the screen where it noticeably unlike André and Chloé. Cowardice makes sense only for André and Chloé especially André, let’s face it the biggest coward in the whole show is next to Damocles and while Chloé can act brave, she can be cowardly especially if she is the one getting chased by an akuma which she caused which mostly happened in the first season but it never really went away. Betrayal is something I noticed when comes to these akuma’s actions, like Style Queen betray her daughter when Chloé was helping Ladybug, Malediktator did brainwash his wife to be more obey and later trying to do the same thing with Chloé in the same episode, and Chloé betrays Ladybug’s trust in Miracle Queen and turns on Sabrina when she presents during her akumas and didn’t care when she was Queen Banana and Sole Destroyer. But where they all share something in common is impatience. Their impatience where either wearing thin or just nonexistent most of the time, the most being Style Queen since she just fired anyone that didn’t do what she said immediately, Malediktator was wearing his thin when Chloé kept running away from him each time, and Chloé’s akuma kinda flipped flopped while some of akumas can have patience, they quickly become nonexistent when they get angry like Queen Banana and Antibug. So when they all lose patience it is when they’re losing to Ladybug and Chat Noir so patience becomes nonexistent when things don’t go their way especially Chloé’s. So yeah after breaking all of their designs down and how the blacks and yellow mean in their designs and characters where does Sole Crusher and her concept design stand? Well, I’m glad you asked since it leads to my next point.

Why Sole Crusher’s current one doesn’t work at all:

Okay I know I said “I don’t think Sole Crusher’s design in the show is that bad and it was her poorly-written personality that made the akuma bad” Well I lied since it was Zoé’s debut episode and I love Zoé since I have to admit she one of my comfort characters but doesn’t mean her akuma or debut get a free pass and both of them that made the akuma design pretty bad because aside the fact that it doesn’t feel like, look, or even hints to Zoé at all, it just cluttered mess. Sole Crusher has no reason to have horns on her back or shoes since they don’t even do or help the design whatsoever. She has way too many horns on her head, two or heck even four would be enough not fucking eight! The diamonds all over her don’t help at all, instead, they just make it look like a cluttered mess since she has diamonds on her forehead and the top of her eyebrows and don't even function as eyebrows since she still has them so what’s even the point? Because of this, her concept one looks so much cleaner and less cluttered than her canon one, there are some things I may not like but at least there isn’t as much as her canon character I found. And I know I sound dumb when saying this but the concept feels like Zoé to me than her current one ever did since it doesn’t feel like a Chloé or any of the Bourgeois family because of her color palette and I’ll explain that in the next paragraph. Overall I hate this design and this just makes me long for her concept even if it has its problems I have. It's just a cleaner design but that's beside the point and let’s talk about their color schemes, the concept art, and the canon one.

Sole Crusher’s color scheme in canon doesn’t make any sense since her personality didn’t fit what personality Sole Crusher was barely given. Since she isn’t cowardly, she never betrays anyone that we know of, she doesn’t have an ego, and most importantly she does have patience since she decided to wait for Ladybug and Chat Noir to get to the hotel rather than going after them immediately or throwing a tantrum. Which to me doesn’t fit with Sole Crusher’s or Zoé’s personality at all

since yellow was always portrayed as bad in this show since a few of our ‘good’ characters wore yellow in their actual designs you could say, I’m overthinking it but I’m not since I went to check and all the akuma class doesn’t wear yellow except Nino but he just wears a yellow bracelet. So why in the world put yellow on the girl if she isn’t even close to her family except for one member and it is the one that is a coward? And this is why I said light blue would work better for Sole Crusher’s design than yellow because it would show how she isn’t like them and is disconnected from them which isn’t a bad thing since let’s be honest who even wants to be related to the Bourgeois family. After all, I surely don’t. And light blue could work for her personality if she had any because she doesn’t have one that truly defines her. And yes I know maybe that was the point of her personality and writers probably thought that but I don’t think that executed well or not even at all and we’re giving these writers too much credit because these writers made Simpleman which is a dumb episode.

Anyway back to my point, Sole Crusher being all blue like her concept art would work better since it symbolizes how she isn’t a Bourgeois, and deep down she doesn’t want to be like any of them, she is a Lee, and knows it. Also light blue/blue color symbolizes unfriendliness, sadness, impersonal, passive, and emotionally unstable when it comes to personality, which does fit Malediktator and André and Chloé and her akumas pretty well I will admit but that would also fit with Sole Crusher since before getting akumatized Zoé was passive towards Chloé’s behavior and let her walk all over her and broke down into tears when she was alone and you could say Sole Crusher was trying to match Chloé’s unfriendliness and her lack of personality also helps but I don’t think that last one is a good idea for someone’s debut episode and Sole Crusher being impersonal could honestly work. There are not many examples for Sole Crusher where I could say for blue color works on her when it comes to personality when I try to think of one, unlike the Bourgeois family akumas I mentioned before since she doesn’t have one where is more defined like other akumas and that’s biggest problem with her akuma as a whole and that shouldn’t be fair to Zoé since this her only akuma she got ever since her debut episode. So why does she get the short end of the stick here? That isn’t fair even if that was to point to her personality, it just doesn’t work, I’m sorry it just doesn’t. But I should give these colors a more positive light since there are some positive meanings to these colors and which ones fit the Bourgeois Family and Zoé.

The Positive Meanings of Black, Yellow, and Blue:

I have been negative about these colors huh? Well, change that shall we? I can tell you now blue more positive meanings are a bit more fitting for Sole Crusher and Zoé.

Okay let’s start with the black meanings, black usually means elegance and sophistication which does fit with Audrey, André, and Chloé since they either are that way or they think they are that. But for Zoé those don’t fit her or Sole Crusher and since I forgot to mention this I feel someone will eventually do so might as well say it. Yes, Sole Crusher does black in her design but just like Queen Banana and Penalteam with their red eyes, it doesn’t matter and it is only on her eyelashes and pupils. But the black on Zoé’s leather jacket is worth mentioning and while elegant and sophisticated may not be that important to her rebellion which symbolizes honesty fits her since goes against Audrey’s and Chloé’s standards of being a Bourgeois. Another thing to note is that black is used to symbolize mystery which does fit Audrey and Zoé since no one knew who they were until meeting them in canon respectively in their debut episodes.

Okay the only thing yellow in a positive light when it comes to the Bourgeois family is probably happiness for Chloé since let’s be honest, she takes pleasure from bullying her peers and you said the same happens to Audrey and André when she is impressed by someone and him when he with his daughter or having his hotel be habitat by celebrities. But as for Zoé when it comes to yellow, it was harder for me when she can be happy with the people who truly care about her and friendship where she gets a lot of them (even though we see them on screen as much as I want) when she in Paris but even then yellow isn’t that fitting for her as much as the other Bourgeois family members. So sorry this isn’t a lot but I think the blue one would be interesting and heard me out on that one.

Blue symbolizes calm, reliability, patience, and bravery in a more positive light. And while Chloé does show some bravery when she becomes a superhero for a brief time during seasons 2-3 and André tries being calm and patient with his wife and daughter when they want something. They don’t show it as much and backtrack them more often than not, especially André since he is quick to panic and quick to make his wife and daughter happy even if someone suffers for it to make it happen as much as possible. And as for Chloé…. Well, she does have some bravery but I think that more of having a big ego and stupid writing in the later seasons (Yes I know that Audrey has blue eyes but so does the rest family and they are not as prominent as the others since she always wearing sunglasses in her appearances and while she does show calm and bravery, it reads more like she doesn’t give a shit about some situations most of the time, just wanted to mention that). But enough about them, these traits fit Zoé a lot more than the yellow did for her. Patience and calm are not only present in Zoé but in Sole Crusher as well since she decided to wait and get powerful before chasing after the heroes immediately and she looked pretty calm and sly when the heroes left to go to the hotel. Yeah, Zoé being associated with the color blue makes sense since she is a reliable friend when she shows up, is brave to stand up to her sister in Queen Banana (which I know isn’t much but still), she very patient when putting up with her family, and she has this calm demeanor in her character when she does show up. I know it doesn’t seem much to you but to me, it does even if I didn’t have that many examples of the things I was talking about and I still wanted to mention them.

My Personal Opinion/Conclusion:

In my opinion, Zoé should be associated with the color blue rather than yellow. I’m not saying get rid of the yellow entirely but make yellow a bit more of an accent color like Chloé having blue eyes and blue eyeshadow or André having the blue striped on his sash. Just make the yellow on Zoé’s design an accent rather than her main color heck just change the color of her pants to blue then just have her shoes have the yellow on them already. And I know what you guys going to say but shouldn’t she try to look connected to her family in some way while might be right about that, I say that her being disconnected from her family makes sense since she isn’t like them like I said before she is a Lee not a Bourgeois and that fine. Getting rid of the yellow entirely doesn’t make sense, making it her main color doesn’t either since yellow has been portrayed as a bad thing in this show rather than a good thing and she doesn’t fit in the yellow symbolism I mentioned.

Overall, the crew just didn’t care about Zoé and just wanted to create a replacement for Chloé so the fandom could stop complaining about her failed and probably nonexistent redemption arc but decided to be lazy and just rush Zoé out. This causes discourse in the fandom with some Chloé fans (the toxic ones not all of them but some) hating on Zoé even though it is not her fault for being this way it was the miraculous crew’s fault for this, not the character. This also caused a lot of potential not only with Zoé but with Chloé as well. And I don’t even like Chloé as much as other fans but even I think we missed an interesting dynamic with the two in multiple ways. So that is what I’m planning to do in my rewrite of Sole Crusher so maybe I can give Zoé some justice because she deserves better than what she gave from not only the crew but also some of the fandom (not salting anyone that doesn’t use Zoé, you do you my guy and I get it, just feel like people just kinda give up on Zoé and just uses her for Chloé’s development which can be frustrating to me). Please don’t take that to heart and I just want to let you know my opinion at the end of the day. Man, something I’ve noticed as time goes by is that Your Reality isn’t just Monika’s song, but all of the girl’s song. Let me explain.

There’s this song in ddlc called “Okay, Everyone!”, right? Well each girl has their own version, their own theme. Each one has a basic melody that they follow, but they all change the main instrument and have a different vibe. There’s also a song that kinda also is “Sayori’s theme” (apart form sayonara) called “Ohayou Sayori”.

Why does all of that matter, well because, your reality has 5 different instrument being played: piano (obviously), acoustic guitar, flutes, some dinging noise and Violin. And although this might come as a bit of a stretch, but I think these instruments are representations of the girls. Monika is obviously playing the piano and singing to us, so she is obviously is in the song, but the first time she stops singing, we can hear a guitar, specifically one similar to Ohayou Sayori, which if we were to take as Sayori somehow joining in the song, symbolically she would be agree with the message the song sends, “Our world is dying and there is nothing we can do about, I have to accept this.” Which could make sense that she was the first to join in, since at this point Sayori has obtained the president status and in some cases is the one who is deleting everything. The next time monika stops singing, some dinging noice can be hear as well as a flute, the flute is representative of Yuri as well as the violin as that’s the same instruments use for her version of “Okay Everyone!”, but the dings are we hit a roadblock. Although Natsuki’s version of “Okay Everyone!” does have these dings (predominately so), so do the other versions, even the standard version. But let’s just say that it does because these dings dings are very similar to the style of instruments that would be played by her theme.

Now what does this lead up to? The fact that not only is your reality a song of a broken girl that is somber of her mistakes, but also a song of acceptance, friendship and tragedy, if my theory is correct, these are the final moments that the girls spend together, no longer arguing or bickering, just comforting each other in their crumbling world. It made a very fucking sad song, even sadder and more tragic, and although the theory isn’t perfect, Your Reality will forever be for me not only a song about Monika, but a song about the literature club.

Ohh, if you're doing recasting of things, any thoughts on The Philadelphia Story and/or The Big Sleep? Rewatching TPS for the nth time the other night got me pondering

Ooo, those are both hard ones! I find a lot of Old Hollywood classics a challenge, probably because they're so iconic and engrained in pop culture, but also because acting styles have changed so much since the 1940s and 50s. To try and fit actors into the roles kind of feels like it fundamentally changes the tone and style, but that's not necessarily always a bad thing, haha.

Still! Let's have a go.

(Quick note: since all the actors in The Philadelphia Story were in their late 20s to mid 30s when they shot it, I've tried to cast actors in that age window, even though I think you could age all of them up given the nature of the story.)

Mia Goth as Katharine Hepburn's Tracey Lord

I kinda just think Mia Goth can do most things, haha, but I actually think she was a revelation in Emma, which is - I'm pretty sure - her first foray into a genre outside of horror and sci-fi. She's got such a warmth in it, especially opposite Anya Taylor-Joy who I mmm, Struggle With as an actress. I feel like she could deliver just the right amount of chaos as Tracey, while also holding her own charisma-wise against Hepburn's boundless screen presence.

Paul Mescal as Cary Grant's Dexter Haven

This was actually the one I struggled with the most, because it's hard to find an actor who could balance dickishness with genuine charm these days in the way that Cary Grant (and a lot of the Golden Age Hollywood men) could. If anyone can do it though, I feel like it'd have to be Paul Mescal.

Dev Patel as Jimmy Stewart's Mike Connor

Funnily enough, I've actually thought Dev Patel and Jimmy Stewart have a similar energy on screen for a while? I'm not sure how to describe it, but there's a sort of warmth and affability to them even when they're playing characters that should feel - - I don't know. Harsher maybe. Anyway, I love them both as actors, and I think Dev could make Mike as easy to fall-in-love-with as Jimmy did.

Molly Gordon as Ruth Hussey's Liz Imbrie

I suddenly realised that everyone I've recast so far is either British or Irish, haha, so let's add an American to the mix! I have a big soft spot for Liz, and a big soft spot for Ruth Hussey too (The Uninvited, my beloved). Having her sort of wry, gentler energy to offset Katharine Hepburn's and the rest of the cast's highly strung chaos has always been something I've really liked, and I think Molly Gordon could bring something unique to the part.

Harris Dickinson as John Howard's George Kittredge

Can you believe John Howard was only 27 when they shot this? WILD. The George role is a pretty thankless one, especially between Cary Grant's scene chewing and Jimmy Stewart's effortless warmth, and I think it's a testament to Howard that you can see him as a viable option for Tracy at all. I've seen Harris Dickinson in quite a few things now, and think he can have a pretty grounding presence in a lot of more absurd premises (Triangle of Sadness and Scrapper spring to mind), and I feel that's what a role like this needs.

The Big Sleep feels a bit harder, but I'll have a think! Bogie and Bacall are just so iconic, haha.

Summary: For as long as you can remember, Steve’s love for you has been laced and tangled into your hair. After a bad day at work, you find yourself stuck in a sticky situation. Will Steve approve of your impromptu haircut?

AN: ahhh my first fic! I did my best to keep the description of the reader’s hair inclusive to all hair types. All mistakes are my own. Hope you enjoy!

When your friend, Maddie, set you up on a blind date, she was met with nothing but protests and excuses as to why you weren't ready for that kinda thing yet.

The date was tonight at 7pm sharp, and she made it very clear that showing up on time meant you had shown up late. So really, the date was at 6:50pm.

She had only told you half way through your work day on lunch break.

"Oh bitch do I have the opportunity for you" Maddie's voice rang through your phone as you were shoveling food down your throat in attempts to have some time to tidy up your classroom before a stampede of 7-8 year olds came back just to mess it up all over again.

"Yeah? And what's that?" You questioned curiously.

"A date. Tonight. Trust me when I say you do not want to miss out on this one" She presented.

"Oh trust me, I most definitely do" You practically barked out a cackle at her statement.

"No you don't. In fact, you'll be so thankful for this date that you're going to ask me to be maid of honor when you two get married" Confidence laced in her tone.

"Oh yeah? Tell me about him? What makes him so special that I'd want to do anything other than go home and eat cold pizza by myself on a Friday night?"

"First of all, that's really sad. Second of all, I happen to know you already have a crush on him. I'm not going to tell you who he is, but you'll know the second you get there. Plus he already agreed so it would be kind've rude to waste his time"

"Maddie" You threw your head back in complaint. "What do you mean I have a crush on him? You know I get out of work at 4, right?"

"Which is exactly enough time for you to go home and change before the date! Wear something casual but nice, you're meeting at that new bar on 21st street. Oh, and also you don't have a choice. I got this opportunity for you based on pure luck so if I find out you aren't going to show up, I'm coming over to your place and dragging you there myself" Maddie threatened.

"You're a pain in my ass? You know that?" You questioned with a playful tone. You knew she was only looking out for you.

"Of course I do."

You spent the whole rest of your work day empty minded while your students worked on their art projects. However, art day meant staying later to clean up the absolute mess the second graders made. They could never seem to keep their wiggly fingers to themselves which resulted in smeared paint, teeny bits and pieces of cut up construction paper stuck into the carpet and tacky Elmer's glue on the desks, and the messiest of all, glitter. Everywhere.

Clinging to your clothes, between the fibers of the rugs, flying through the air with each time a student walked through the room, and stuck to the tiny hands that hugged you goodbye every single evening.

By the time you got home at 5:45, and took a look in the mirror you knew it was rough. You looked just as tired as you felt and the clothes on you body were screaming to be washed.

You chugged a glass of coffee as a mid-day pick me up before taking a quickest shower time could possibly allow. You through on the cleanest outfit she could find, smacked on the bare minimum make up to make you look more alive, then you got to your hair.

An absolute rats nest that was once perfectly styled this morning. The day was not kind to it, and frankly there was no proper way to fix it. After one last call to Maddie letting her know that there was no way you could show up for a date in the condition you were in, you were met with empty threats once again.

There wasn't enough time to wash it and start fresh since apparently you were meeting the most punctual man on the planet, so you popped it in a sleek low bun with a few loose strands in front and prayed to whatever god would listen that he wouldn't notice the glitter that somehow found a way to reside in it.

You weren't happy about it, and honestly, it made you not want to go. It simply wasn't cooperative, keeping you humble and knocking down your confidence to the absolute bare minimum.

So when you walked into the bar feeling not the best about yourself, you looked around before your eyes landed on a lonesome man a table by himself.

The sight felt like a punch to your stomach and you cursed the coffee for contributing to the way your heart raced.

Surely, that couldn't be your date. Right?

Then, his eyes met yours and he gave you a big toothy smile before standing up to greet you.

"Y/N?" He asked just to confirm you really were the girl he had seen pictures of.

"Uh, yeah. Hi!" She slapped a smile on because holy shit Maddie set you up on a date with Captain America and you had glitter in your god damn hair.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Steve" he politely introduced himself while wrapping you in a friendly hug.

You'd like to believe that the small talk went well, but the whole time you were too focused on making sure you weren't presenting yourself as a weird obsessive fan while also letting him know that you were well aware of his job title.

Luckily your drink did wonders to calm your nerves and build up the confidence your mediocre hairstyle took from you.

"So, what do you do for work? I think Maddie mentioned something about kids?" He asked politely.

"I teach second grade" You informed him with a smile.

"Ah, that explains the glitter in your hair" He smiled while you internally groaned.

"I was hoping you wouldn't notice" You giggled awkwardly. "My job is great and I absolutely love all my students, but it certainly doesn't leave much time for good hair days. Especially for impromptu dates after work"

"Your hair looks great!" He complemented, and you could hear the sincerity. "I think the glitter really adds to the whole ensemble you have going on here. I really like it"

"Really?" You asked genuinely surprised at his kindness. "Thank you! I almost didn't come because I'm having a bad hair day."

"I'm very glad you did. I wouldn't consider this anywhere near what my bad hair days are like"

Oddly enough, his acknowledgment and complements put your mind at ease enough to actually enjoy the rest of the time you spent with him.

You ended up clicking a lot better than anyone else you've been on a date with recently, and found yourselves at that same table until the bar closed.

He walked you home like the true gentleman he was, and nervously stood at your doorstep as you fumbled your keys to unlock the creaky door.

When it finally flew open with some pressure to the rusty hinges, you found out that his nerves were because he really enjoyed the time he spent with you, and wondered if you would want to do this again someday soon.

After an enthusiastic attempt at agreeing on a time and date, and a quick kiss to his cheek in attempts to keep it classy, you finally said goodnight to each other.

As he walked away he couldn't help but to look back at you and give a final "and please show up even if you think your hair is messy"

One date turned to two, and two to four, four to eight, and in the blink of an eye, you and Steve had been going steady for almost a year.

As your relationship deepened, so did his love for your hair.

Every morning you woke up next to him, he would lovingly run his fingers through the length, gently brushing it away from your face and off his shoulder.

Whenever you were sad or scared, he held you so tight against his chest. One hand rubbing your back while the other held the back of your head. He would rest his check on the crown of your scalp and nestle it into the soft strands.

Whether you just got back from the hair salon, or had woken up from the best nap of your life with your hair flying in all sorts of directions you didn't even know was possible, he made it a point to tell you how pretty you looked.

Steve always thought you looked beautiful.

From tucking flyaways behind your ears while the two of you made love, to gathering it all at the base of your head and holding it back while you threw up from a bad case of the stomach flu, it was like his love was always entangled in your hair.

But it wasn't just your hair, it was his too.

You always loved how unique the color of his hair was. Golden blonde right on top that deepened into a rich chocolate shade on the back of his head. On the off chance he didn't get an opportunity to shave, his glorious beard was almost the same shade of brown. But oddly enough, it had deep hues of mahogany red with just a touch of a few silver strands that he credited to stress. Definitely not due to the fact that the man was well over a hundred years old.

On days he would come back from missions dirty, sweaty, and exhausted, his favorite thing in the whole world was when you would shower with him just to assist in washing his hair. There were no words to accurately describe how loved that made him feel.

Or when he would have days off of work and you'd let him fall asleep on you. His body weight crushed you deep into the cushions of the couch, his body heat combined with yours under the blanket would make your cheeks turn pink, and he claimed that your chest made the best and most comfortable pillow. What really lulled him to sleep and kept his dreams oh so sweet was the way you would massage his scalp with your fingers until it was physically impossible for you to stay awake.

Once you even called him on your lunch break during a notably awful day at school. The kids just weren't quite behaving and your headache just wasn't going away. After a kid had a tantrum and no matter what you did to calm him down, nothing eased his big feelings. The result of a one on one outside conversation was a huge wad of pink bubblegum stuck and tangled into the ends of your hair.

Steve reassured you with a quick "I'll be there in 10 minutes", and sure enough he was there with a big bag of stuff he read on the internet about how to get gum out of hair.

You sat in the back of your classroom for the whole rest of the day trying absolutely everything while the kids had a surprise visit from Captain America himself.

Of course they listened to every word he said, participated in every activity he could think of to keep them entertained, and he finally conducted his own art lesson.

While you used peanut butter, olive oil, conditioner, and ice in your hair, he was finally experiencing the utter joy of getting glitter stuck in his.

The bell rang dismissing the kids to their parents for the day, and you kissed him goodbye as he got called into a meeting.

"I'm sorry nothing got the gum out" He apologized sincerely while holding your face between his palms. "I can tell you're still upset, but when I get home from this meeting I can help you some more, alright? Maybe talk to Stark and Banner to see if they have anything to help"

"Thank you, honey" You smiled despite the defeat you were sinking into.

"These kids are so lucky to have you, you're a wonderful teacher. I know you've had a hard day, but that doesn't make it any less true." He reminded you.

"You're a wonderful teacher too. You made their whole days"

"It's the least I could do" He admitted. "I'll see you at home, alright? I love you"

"I love you more"

"Impossible"

Unfortunately, the meeting turned into a mission, and the mission to get the bubblegum out of your hair was now impossible. You had to surrender and book an emergency appointment at the hairdresser where they cut out all of the pink cementy sweetness.

Your precious hair was now a lot shorter than you ever would've chosen for yourself. In a few days full of moments of weakness, you cried about it.

Friends, colleges, and students alike all agreed that your new haircut looked good on you. Apparently it complemented the shape of your face and captured your fun and bubbly personality.

But all those days without Steve made it hard.

He loved your hair so much, and most of your anxiety relied on whether he would like it or not. As dramatic as it made you feel, you wondered if your lack of hair would equate to a lack of love from him.

A lack of attractiveness to his eyes.

If less hair was less of you.

The day he got home, you were so happy to see him but the anxiety that sputtered through your body made you everything but comfortable.

Much like your very first date when you were unhappy with your hair, you popped it in a low bun.

He walked through the door and happily greeted you like a dog being reunited with its human after days apart.

He peppered your face in kisses, told you how much he missed you, and professed how happy he was to be home.

Dropping his duffle on the floor then sinking into the couch, you approached him with a stack of haphazard paper. There were so many colors and shapes that popped out as his eyes scanned the stack, his brain couldn't even begin to process what you were trying to give him.

"What's all of this?" He sleepily questioned as he pulled you into his lap.

"They're thank you cards from my students." She told him with a smile. "It was their idea, they thought that meeting Captain America was pretty much the coolest thing in the whole world and they wanted to make sure you knew"

His whole face lit up while he took the stack from your hands into his. He rested his chin on your shoulder, and couldn't even help the smile on his face. "No way. This is the cutest thing I've ever seen! Look, at this drawing of me. It's so accurate!"

The drawing on the very first card was a stick figure. Both of his eyes were definitely two different shapes and sizes, and despite being made of sticks, he still had muscles on muscles.

"I think they really captured your essence" you agreed with a giggle while nestling your cheek into his.

The next few cards were quick. All of them were pretty straight to the point, some hearts, stars and flowers drawn with washable marker and words of thanks.

Whether they were plain construction paper, or heavy in weight with head to toe stickers and glitter glue, each one made Steve the happiest guy in the world.

‘You’re the best superhero ever!’

‘Thank you Mr. Steve’

‘You saved the day!’

‘We love you’

‘Please come back soon!’

Some of them even pulled a genuine belly laugh out of the soldier. His personal favorite was ‘I used to be scared of you, but you are not scary anymore’

Half way through the stack, a thought fought it's way through Steve's exhausted foggy brain. "Wait, Honey, how did you end up getting the bubblegum out of your hair?" He felt you immediately tense in his lap before you let out a sigh and a groan, practically hiding your face away into the side of his. "Oh no. You didn't?"

"I couldn't" You practically whispered and gently shook your head. "I'm sorry"

"Why are you sorry? Did you get a haircut?" He questioned gently.

"I had to. I'm sorry because I know you loved how my hair was before"

"Can I see it?"

You suddenly felt shyer than you ever have with him, and pulling the hair out of the elastic ponytail felt more vulnerable than letting him see you naked for the first time.

You closed your eyes that were starting to water as the hair fell and just barely grazed your shoulder.

"Sweetheart" Steve started, but your shut eyelids caused you to miss the big toothy smile that uncontrollably smeared across his face. He reached his hand up and ran his fingers through it a few times, appreciating the way it stopped way sooner than it used to. "You look absolutely beautiful! Your hair is adorable!" He beamed.

It was only when you opened your eyes again that Steve noticed the tiny pool of water collecting in your bottom lash line. "You don't like it?!" He questioned with pure disbelief.

You didn't really know how to get the right words out to properly express how you felt, and you knew the second you opened your mouth the tears would start falling.

"Surely you don't hate it, right?" He asked again. "It's absolutely gorgeous, you're gorgeous"

All you could get yourself to do was hide again, but this time your face was squished into the base of his neck and shoulder.

"I don't hate it" You mumbled with a shrug. "I was just so worried that you would"

"What? Are you kidding me? You could shave all your hair off and I'd still think you're the most perfect little thing on the planet" He admitted while prying your face out of its hiding spot with gentle force.

When you looked at him again, you tried blinking away your previous irrational fear, and it caused a single tear to fall down your cheek. Steve quickly swiped it away with his thumb before giving you a kiss.

"It's a big change, and I'm not very good at dealing with change. Especially since it wasn't really my fault to begin with" You explained. "And you loved my hair"

"Love your hair" He corrected and placed a kiss on each cheek. "Still do. I love your hair because it's attached to you, sweet girl. It's okay to be upset over a big change, and it's even okay to be upset at the kid who stuck it in your hair. This is a very sticky situation, but please, don't worry about what I think. I'll always think the whole world of you"

"It quite literally was a sticky situation" You finally giggled, the sound alone pulled a smile out of your beautiful boyfriend. "Thank you, Angel. I love you so much"

"I love you more" He happily accepted the right hug you wrapped him in.

"That's impossible" You grinned.

My Thoughts on Mean Girls the Movie MUSICAL

(Taking a quick break from my usual postings to go back to talk a little bit about one of my other interests...musicals!)

I just wanna share some of my thoughts about the new Mean Girls movie, so I hesitate to really call this a review or a critique. First and foremost, gosh its marketing. Don't even get me started. I have so many questions, but that is not what I want to really focus on. I just needed to get it out of my system. Now, let's begin!

I consider myself a fan of the Broadway musical. Probably not to the extent where I would consider myself its #1 fan, but I did follow its journey to Broadway and any announcements that came during its initial run and tour. I have yet to have the pleasure of watching it live (only through a slime tutorial on YT). So, for someone like me who has listened to the cast recording and watched any live performances by the any of the Bway or touring casts countless time, I can at at least appreciate that this movie exists to deliver the musical aspect to a larger audience.

Jaquel, Auli'i, and Renee (maybe in that order?) are the standouts to me. I absolutely loved Jaquel and Auli'i as Damian and Janis. I honestly think I have nothing but good things to say about their performances and portrayals. And again, from hearing and seeing clips of Renee in the Broadway cast, I was so happy to hear she was cast as Regina George in this adaptation. If you haven't already listened to the movie's soundtrack, most of the songs from the musical were adapted to fit more of a pop vibe than the original Broadway style. While I am happy to have like an official version of Renee singing Regina's song, I felt like her voice was toned down a bit to fit this iteration of the music. Don't get me wrong, she still sounds amazing but I didn't feel like she was able to truly show off her musical theatre chops.

Also, on the subject of the soundtrack, I listened to it before seeing the movie. And can I say, watching it really makes a big difference. I had a lot of thoughts about "Fearless" and "Stop" being cut. But, it kinda makes sense since those are the Act 1 closing and Act 2 opening songs, which in a movie, is not going to have that break, or intermission. In this still being an adaptation of Mean Girls, you have the scene where Cady tells Regina she can no longer sit with the Plastics and is subsequently shunned from the rest of the cafeteria. It's there, there's just no song to accompany it. But, it did feel like the right call since I think that part of the movie would've started dragging if those songs were both kept in.

"Where Do You Belong" is another song that was cut that I have mixed feelings about. I am still a little sad that it was cut, and I don't think it would've slowed down the pacing that much if left in. After watching the movie, while I can't say it was the right move to cut this song, it definitely didn't feel like there was something missing in this part of the scene. Now, this song leads into "Meet the Plastics" in the musical, which was significantly trimmed down for the film. It's kinda funny to me that the title is still plural when it's only Regina's part. In having this be the third song in the movie, and really the first one after the opening, there is a bit of power that inherently(?) comes with it in having Regina's entrance announced through song.

As I've seen others point out, two of Damian's songs were cut. So, I am really happy that they turned "Apex Predator" into a duet between Janis and him (rather than Cady and Janis). This is a change or perhaps addition that I really enjoyed. In the movie, this scene/song still takes place at Northshore High (with any mall scene being completely removed). Going along with the lyrics, the choreography resembles the musical in more ways than others, with the students acting like different animals. And it works but also it doesn't. The choreography definitely fits the lyrics. But that comparison between students as animals and high school as a savannah that is set up in "It Roars" does not happen because "What ifs" replaced "It Roars." As a result it feels a little weird (I hesitate to throw out the word cringey, but maybe a little bit). I'm familiar enough with the musical that I could tell they were definitely pulling from that number as it appears in the musical, but if I was not, I don't really know how I would feel.

The last song I'm gonna talk about is "What Ifs" replacing "It Roars." For the slight story adjustments that were made as to why Cady and her mom return to the US, the new song definitely works. It sets up Cady wanting to explore "normal" high school or teen life the same way "It Roars" does, but it supports the detail of Cady talking with her mom at some point about what she feels she is missing out on because they are in Africa (from what I could gather, the decision to move back to the US is much more driven by character interest or desire, rather than cut funding and becoming the only option). The vibe or style of this song also works well amongst the rest of the soundtrack, especially since I can't imagine "It Roars" translating that well into this new style.

For some smaller details that I really enjoyed, I really liked how (if I'm remembering correctly) when Karen is first introduced, she's wearing a necklace that has her name on it, but she's wearing it backwards (leaning into that "she is the dumbest person you will ever meet"). It was shown in a trailer or an ad, but during "Revenge Party," there is the section where Janis, Damian, and Cady try to embarrass Regina by turning on a sprinkler that will hit her (and ruin her makeup). I like how we see Ashley Park's character, the French teacher, try to mimic the "wet look" since it almost feels like an homage to her playing Gretchen in the musical, who is always described as trying to please or be just like Regina.

Everyone has their own opinions, so I can't say with confidence oh this type of person will love it or this type of person will hate it. But, I can say as someone who loves the musical, I really enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun and was generally smiling throughout the whole thing since in a way, this is the closest I've come to (and may come to) seeing the Mean Girls musical adaptation. Even then, this movie felt like it was trying to do its own take on Mean Girls and Mean Girls the Musical, and I'll give the directors and creatives credit, some of it really worked (and some didn't). I wanted to see this movie, but I was unsure how to feel going into it since I couldn't tell if it was going to be bad or decently/surprisingly good. And after watching it, my initial reaction is to lean more towards the surprisingly good, which makes me happy.

ACCIDENTAL PROFESSOR ENDING !!!! this is the first time i haven't gotten botanist without trying ;jlksdfl;kjd but it makes sense since i did so much tutoring to get close to nomi

also got second engineer to get the manuals for next round!!

did all the delusional options but didn't come across enough to get lobotomized, or i at least should've maybe chosen a diff dialogue option when it was brought up :/ pwease slice my brain up mommy instance ;-;

i romanced cal so i could break up him and tammy. i liked the idea of cal more on earlier playthroughs i think because he reminds me so much of ger, but he's... kind of missing a level of consideration that makes ger such a malewife? at least from what i observed when he was with tammy. he kinda never grew up. i got him on the home menu at least this time.

it is kinda cool to be second engineer because you become chief when instance retires, but idk when she retires so you could very well be working on the same-ish level as flulu (or ger) OR with cal which is kinda cool when ur married to him.

cal is a pushover and tammy is a people pleaser and this shows a lot in the ending i got with him, how he's not as good as pushing people as flulu was and it takes a toll on him. i think that's another part of why i find him and tammy a bit unbearable the more i play j;aklslkdjf they're just... too conventional/nice in a way i don't vibe with, whereas i like rex and nomi's flavor of kindness and support more.

this was also my first ending since my initial playthrough with nem where i got to have kids!!! with nem i had 2 but with cal we had a ton so that's a cool change of pace. thinking about flu and ger being grandparents ;-;

i lowkey wish cal and i broke up here (i know we have communal raising but THAT many kids plus us both being chiefs means that's gonna be stressful) but he fucking DIES in his fifties while defending geoponics during an attack (i didnt make peace w the gardeners lol) so at least i'm free to go fuck other people now.

this was the first time i got nomi in an ending!!! i love their creativity and that they end up sooooorta being a rancher? and getting a pet unisaur? perfect for them. horse nb vertumna style.

god also i got to read their writing project and i love that it's just... a mini version of exocolonist meets animorphs

OH AND I GOT THEM TO GET WITH REX <3 though i hadn't talked to rex a ton so AFTER i got them dating i had a dialogue option with him that's supposed to come before that discusses how they're just friends sj;klf

another sad ending for tang, she was my second and got obsessed with what happened to dys since he did the bomb. the ending talks about her being in a nightmarish waking state due to her augment or something? awful, i hate it. this reminds me i probs couldve done the plague this round.... will do after the next couple.

i stayed in the creche etc during attacks a lot more this time and had an option to save tammy from an attack during the one where kom dies. i kinda wonder if she wouldve died if i didnt bother but i didnt wanna fuck up the achievement for breaking up her and cal. tempted to let her get severely injured though or not save her next time... but i do like having free cakes to give other people, so maybe i'll let her live. gonna keep letting her lose her dad in a brutal attack tho.

i think up next is the transcendence ending, and THEN i can recalibrate the shields and i think that'll result in a situation where flulu is more chill so i'm excited to see that.

the only person left to put on the homescreen is vace though :| i will consider getting close to him and shoving him into therapy after the above, maybe with an ending in mind that also involves getting close to nem again.

i think apart from the vace, friends, and all endings achievements everything else i need to do is card related so i'm gonna be a tad directionless apart from looking for diff endings to beat once i get through vace.

i also do need the 4 pets one though ive heard thats glitchy, but getting closer to vace does bode sorta well with that.

Have you seen MVA specifically the tv series and what are your thoughts about it?

yes I have! like twice? or three times selectively? and that was like 2 years ago!

short answer; this show has all my love and hatred for its existence

long answer?

I like the concept of the monster agents having to "share" living space with the aliens, and I do like the idea of the different aliens sort of being foils or compliments to the monsters

the ongoing plots like coverton's relationships with the monsters and how he has redeeming qualities is really nice! and I appreciate some of the continuity like the teleportation bit. I am sad that didn't get resolved or that we got to see through with coverton's invasion plans

sqweep's relationship with link is especially sweet and I hold it so dear to my heart, and even small interactions for sta'abi with the others are also really nice

I adore and appreciate how the monsters interact with each other because they absolutely nailed the family vibe, and just how they behave with the aliens in general since there's that bit of speciescism in there

now onto what I don't like

firstly, Butterflyosaurus isn't there, and secondly, Ginormica isn't ginormic all the time, but we'll touch on these later

the fact that nickelodeon produced it already had my expectations low, and the fact that it was in 3d made it worse. based on the style of the concept arts, I would've loved it better if it was animated that way in 2d.

the character designs for the aliens are so ugly and unappealing (except sqweep she's decent) but even the models are weirdly scaled and disproportionate for the humans. again, the concept arts for coverton, sta'abi, and vornicarn were so much better than the end result, it's a real shame honestly

the characterization for the monsters were awfully flanderised early on so it was very annoying how Bob was portrayed, and though it did improve a lot as the eps progressed there was always something better they could've done, which was frustrating and agonising to watch

I don't remember having any particular loathing towards any certain eps? because I kinda wanna stay positive about it, but my god were some of the writing just nauseating and aggravating I would get so frustrated and angry cause of how stupid it is

a major theme throughout monsters vs aliens is the use of camera angles and the sense of scale, and the other thing is accepting change since her entire life got flipped. that gets completely erased and the quantonium is replaced with hyperium in the pilot, so Susan can go big or small whenever she wants and the whole movie was a waste of time!! it might as well be a superpower instead of considering her a monster cause her whole thing was being abnormaly big!! and it's clear the show did this for convenience sake which really makes it unauthentic, hence why butterfly isn't there or mentioned at all. susan isn't even a main character most of the time it's bob, then doc, then link, and THEN..... coverton.

how poorly this show was mostly handled made me seethe so much that I have an idealised reboot in my head out of spite and love

RWBY Vol9 Ep2 Review

I’m gonna say this right now, and maybe my opinion on this will change by the end. At the rate this is going, I kinda hope we’re in this place for two volumes. It’s a complex feeling but more on that later.

You know I was one of those people who kinda missed how Lindsay Jones voiced Ruby in earlier volumes; it’s a real double edged sword that we’re getting a little bit of that because Ruby’s depressed. 💀

Strangely enough, this volume feels more whimsical than its been in a very long time. Not just in setting, but a bit of dialogue and the way they’re making them move. RWBY honestly feels like it’s acting more anime than it’s ever been in this regard. Though I’m sure part of the reason for this is because of the state of their production. I don’t dislike it but it’s definitely odd given the circumstances. The characters so far look the best they ever had though.

Very happy Weiss talked about having no home and saying “we didn’t handle right at all.” She even goes as far as to say hopefully their friends overcame the chaos of the situation and her team’s performance. I wish this conversation was a little longer and I absolutely wish Blake and Yang were included. If I have one fear it’s that the show keeps cutting them out of important moments like this in favor of honeymoon moments.

This is just a really good moment.

Didn’t take too many pictures of the auction but it’s definitely worth mentioning that it’s pretty interesting Yang was asked what is love and she had no answer. She didn’t even begin to formulate one. Also, this volume has given her back some of her carefree and happy demeanor, which makes sense considering she thought she was dead and alone; anyone would perk up after realizing that’s not it, but she also feels in a certain way…less mature? Like she was very quick to just try the most destructive way to solve the problem in a way not even Vol1 Yang wouldn’t do outright.

Perhaps that’s the point, making each RWBY character personify a part of Alex’s (Alice) flaws in the book that leads to the consequences for the book to progress

I’m shocked how quickly Ruby gave up the sword. I feel like she might definitely blow up somehow. The team is kinda checking in on her and aware she’s upset, but so far it feels like all of them aren’t trying to go too deep. Like there’s a scene where there’s a little laughter and jokes going on and Ruby is just staring at the sword. My hope is it’s highlighting that none are exactly on the same page.

Ruby being sad makes it rain. Hopefully all of them will pick up on that before a full blown storm happens. The episode ends with them trying to see the Red Prince, is what I assume his name will be. I’m definitely intrigued in where this goes.

Definitely sorting my feelings about all of this, it feels as if the show is giving me what I want, but only surface layer before running off to the next point and I’m going “wait we just started talking. 😅”

Also, this isn’t a gripe or anything, and I’m sure this is a hindsight moment, but I do find it a little strange they had Oscar mention this book last volume, and not someone who was going to fall. Granted, we know Ruby and Yang were read bedtime stories and Blake loves reading; I can even see why Weiss has heard of it, but I did find it a little strange when they all basically went “Oh yeah of course we know all about this book.” Like…sure? That’s fine, I guess it only feels strange because at no point was this ever brought up.

I wouldn’t even need much. We were in Weiss’s house and three of them were together waiting for Penny to wake up. Ruby could’ve saw it on a bookshelf and grabbed it; surprised that a household so far removed from her life style had a story Yang and Summer read to her. Blake mentions she likes that book and Weiss does her Weiss thing by saying “You do know a rich child still a child, right? Even Winter grew up reading that.” All while Ruby is too busy thinking about her own sister, and we transition to being stuck in the tundra.

(I don’t know why I made this whole scenario. I swear it doesn’t actually bug me in the grand scheme of things. 😂)

Okay i finished All for the game and i have many many thoughts since these books have taken over my brain unfortunately.

I want to preface everything by saying that the series is bad BUT i don't think that it's that relevant. Like from what i know these were self-published on a blog and i doubt that they ever saw a professional editor, no publishing house ever touched them, so judging them as one would judge a professionally edited book is not fair and to be completely honest there are books, even popular ones, that are worse than these on every level.

Now that this out of the way here's my thoughts on aftg in no particular order

I love the main trio sososo much. Probably the main reason why i enjoyed this as much as i did is them. All of their interactions are immaculate. I hoped for a three-way relationship till the end

Neil is such a good protagonist. He's insane but he's convinced that he's normal. The fact that he can't shut up sends me every time and even funnier is that even if everyone knows that he can't keep his mouth shut no one does anything to stop him ever, they just let him. And he is so ace you can't change my mind

I love Andrew he's so edgy. And even if he's so incredibly edgy his backstory still hits hard. Kinda disappointed that all of his obsession with Kevin basically disappeared in the last book (with a couple of exceptions) for no good reason, i wanted it to be more prominent in the resolution but it just fizzled out

Kevin. Kevin is my fave. I love him to bits. He is the dark haired deuteragonist of a sport anime. He is the Kageyama of this series. He has two mood 1 being obsessed with exy and 2 having a panic attack 10/10. And i don't care if he has a girlfriend, to me he is ace. The author can say what they want but i don't give a shit. Ace icon that only think about sport and have mental breakdowns

Speaking of Kevin's girlfriend Thea... she's the most weird character in the books. She's name dropped out of nowhere halfway through book 2, then she's never mentioned again till the second to last chapter where she appears for three pages, she does nothing relevant for the plot and she disappear again. She's one of the few characters who has a proper physical description so we know she's hot but her impact is zero. You can remove her and nothing will change. Kevin would have ended up there even without her so why even include her? Like girl you're hot but who are you and what are you doing here?

Talking about hot girls, Allison is my queen. She's iconic, she never said anything wrong ever in three books. She is the only one asking the real questions and she deserved more pages. She and Renee should have kissed at the end

The only thing that keeps the series from being set in generic contemporary times is the way Matt styles his hair. That is so mid y2k every time it's mentioned i got whiplash

Sad that the slurs disappeared after the first book i found them funny and a good way to convey the year the story is set in

The "your intricate and endless daddy issues" is one of the best line ever written it will never leave my vocabulary

Riko has the worst daddy issues imaginable which is 1 funny 2 makes him a good character and i almost feel for him... but then i remember he hurt Kevin sooooo

Jean is pathetic in a endearing way. But he's french and that makes hin lose a lot of points

I'm sad that the Trojans are there for only one chapter i wanted to see more of them

The way Neil talks about Kevin is hilarious. He can't stand him but he talks about him like the second coming of christ. Everything would have been solved if they just had a make out session in the locker room

Still not over the fact that while this books are very much about sport the yakuza is a prominent part of the story. Like that is an important part, half of the books are about it

The ravens are the least serious element in all of this. There's tension about Neil's lies being unveild and Kevin general well being and you are worried for them... and out of nowhere appears the villain team of a children's cartoon with all of them with the same clothes and walking in v formation how am i supposed not to laugh! And how is no one asking questions about them?? After 5 years of living in a cult they are released into the world and you are telling me that they are well adjusted enough to not rise any suspicion about what is going on in there?? No one is asking why there are living quarters in a bunker under a stadium?? If only one person says something after they graduate they will be fucked, there's no one with a family in that team? Why does the yakuza let this happen?!?!?!

The 16 hours long days during the holidays will plague me till the day i die it makes no sense and i find it hysterical. Why are they doing it? Don't know but they do

Ok now that s1 has aired here are my thoughts on Rings of Power as a hard core Tolkien fan :3

Spoilers under the cut! (Also just a really long thought dump ahaha)

First of all I went in not expecting a 100% perfect adaptation bc i know how adaptations work and am looking at this show as basically expensive fanfiction (affectionate).

Overall I have enjoyed it very much. I think it's visually beautiful, love the costumes and music, the casting choices were all phenomenal, seeing Valinor and Numenor gave me all of the feelings.

Ismael Cruz Cordova is the most elf to ever elf and if you disagree sorry you are wrong.

The Numenorean aesthetics were stunning.

I'm not going to whine about the short haired elves but it did feel like a kinda boring style choice imo

I don't love all of the lore changes, but none of them like, upset me. My feelings range from "that's a choice" to "I actually love this change." (Like Galadriel's whole story, I generally really like it though I find it hilarious that Gil-Galad talks to her the way he does considering she's literally his great-aunt.)

Don Marshall on TikTok mentioned that he wishes the Tolkien estate had given them rights to use the bits of the Silmarillion that talk about/impact the second age and i agree. The fact that the Silmarils were given only a passing mention when they were a huge part of elvish history felt weird.

(Did anyone else think that the Dwarves had a silmaril and then were disappointed when it just turned out to be mithril)

I did guess who The Stranger was almost immediately and I am pleased that i was right. Daniel Weyman has done a really good job of giving little nods to Ian McKellan's Gandalf in the way he plays him and i like that very much.

Like other people one of my main quibbles is with the pacing feeling weird, and I especially felt that it was rushed in the finale. It really felt like Galadriel went from being BFFs with Halbrand to suspecting him of being Sauron in like, two seconds with zero evidence. Like somehow seeing him get chummy with Celebrimbor made her go 'oh my god this guy i've been friends with might be the Dark Lord' like girl how?

I think the reveal of Halbrand was the thing that fell flat for me just because they did it way too soon. I'm pretty sure that Annatar and Celebrimbor worked together for quite a while before Annatar was revealed, so i'm really curious how he's going to influence the other rings of power if he's not around to help make them? I think if they were going to have Galadriel figure it out so fast, I would have liked it if Halbrand didn't remember who he was, they could have done some really cool stuff with that.

Also we were robbed of the opportunity for the tumblr girlies to get their Celebrimbor/Annatar slash on

Who and what the heck were those priestess ladies?! Were they maiar? Were they just...random....magic ladies? I kept hoping that main one would turn out to be a human form Balrog.

Not nearly enough Disa. Give me 1000% more Disa. She is fabulous and perfect.

Also really need to know how the fuck Galadriel thinks Celeborn is dead. Did he actually die and will come back from the halls of Mandos later? Where is he that she hasn't run into him and he hasn't come to find her?

Loved the Harfoots so much though i was a little perplexed by the hypocracy of their "no one walks alone" except if you fall behind the group or we're mad at you then you can go fuck yourself like i'm pretty sure that's not how nomadic cultures work lol

overall my complaint is that season 1 should have been longer or they should have tried to do less, because the reveal of Halbrand felt way too rushed especially since they revealed both him and the Stranger in the same episode.

But in general I enjoyed it as a fun cinematic canon addition and am really excited to see what season 2 brings!

Pokemon Anime Series Ranked (in my opinion)

Kalos: Yeah, obviously. Ash has his shit together, he has a whole ass emotional arc, Serena has an amazing arc, Jessie is living her best life, Everything with Zygaurd is great, the tie in to the mega evolution specials were great, only complain os that Clemont was kinda annoying but he has great moments too and Bonnie was cute and also Ash should have won.

Kanto: It really is such a banger, absolutely iconic. Notging beats the banter between the original gang and Team Rocket fucking rocked, not much in the way of a story but that's kinda part of the charm, world's best turn it on just for background noise show.

Unova: I just fucking love the animation man. It's kinda slow in the beginning but I like it, I am actually am Iris lover but Cilan is actually just kinda obnoxious. Team Rocket is also fucking great here and I ador Team Plasma, the fact that we never got the original intended plot with them makes me so sad. (Also this was the pokemon anime I grew up on so nostalgia plays a massive role here,,)

Hoenn: I love that they change it up by letting Ash only have pikachu, and I kinda like May but only after she realizes what she wants to do with her life, Max is perfect I love him. The pacing is fucking excellent amd I love the story, probably would be greta if everything except Team Magma and Aqua's bullshit and Team Rocket's everything wasn't so forgettable

Journeies: A bit upset we didn't get Ash in Galar but eh. Goh is a lovely character and I'm glad we get pokedex completion enthusiast representation. It's also pretty cool we get a meaning to whatever the fuck pokemon master is supposed to be. The correct way to break formula

Johto: Like Kanto but worse, actually kinda boring. It's not terrible it's just... everything else exists. At least it's short unlike fucking Sinnoh which os 190 episodes of fuck all

Alola: I love the characters and that's probably it. I don't like the direction they took, there's a way to break formula and this isn't it also Team Rocket looks stupid in the art style

Sinnoh: The pacing is so bad I want to set myself on fire. Ash has good pokemon here but it takes so fucking long to get to the point I'm crying. Gen 4 had one of the best stories in pokemon but unlike Black and White it fucks itself over so much it can't make use of it. Sorry Sinnoh

For context, the setting‘s pretty much "standard fantasy rpg but technology is a thing“ (which mostly just means they’re all based on rpg classes lol, it’s why the outfits are so weird), and a bunch of info on all five is spread throughout posts in the "original character do not steal [tm]“ tag

But anyways

There‘s Mage, first oc of this group who kinda started this whole concept, unofficial official main oc and thus the most fleshed out one, and also the only one I actively posted about before which you can find here. In short, he‘s a (usually traveling) merchant with dark magic, lots of secrets, kinda shady but also happy-go-lucky, (so more or less true neutral if we‘re going by alignment charts?),a sad backstory the length of 2 sentences, addicted to knowledge, and really likes to poke jabs at Yel.

Yel is a permanently tired postman with constant :| face who only became one because he lost his Hunter class due to being short-sighted, and this was the next best thing to still roam around the woods freely while being undisturbed. Kept and uses his survivalist skills from that time though, which made him the group medic and also the one bringing back Red others when they get lost. Stickler to rules most of the time, pretty much the only thing that‘ll ever make him disregard them is his loyalty towards people he cares about. And even then it’s quite the internal battle (though he knows which side will always win). Hasn’t actually ever told the others his real name, and isn’t even sure if they’ve realized it yet. As far as he‘s aware, they think Yel is his real name and not a nickname slapped onto him by Mage, and can’t be bothered correcting them. Also doesn’t wanna admit it at all, but secretly enjoys bickering with him because Yel‘s sassy too, he just doesn’t show it.

Red is what happens when you complete a videogame and just keep chillin at the fishing area or building a third house for your twenty Minecraft dogs. Once the picture-perfect hero main character, now she‘s just. Relaxing. World‘s saved, after all! The hero-ing never vanished though, and they don’t bother hiding it, still helping whoever needs it, exploring new places found while getting lost, and pretty much enjoying her time until someone inadvertently ropes them into another great quest because she just can’t say no. Incredibly protective, pretty friendly and chill most of the time, but can’t deal with situations where she can’t be 100% in control. Also, you do. Not. Want. To be a traitor. If you’re standing on the other side, you are an enemy, and enemies get cut down, twice so for daring to lead the people around them on with their lies. Will forgive people who betrayed her though, if they decide to change their mind. But otherwise, Red’s alignment is chaotic good I think? Finds it funny when someone realizes The Hero hasn’t mysteriously vanished or epically sacrificed themselves in the last grand battle like everyone thinks, but is currently hanging upside down from a tree taking photos to fill up their dex.

Deniz kinda started out as an NPC-style character so there’s not much to him, he lives near the sea, flight over fight but will fight with everything he’s got when the first isn’t an option, really good at dealing + commanding people though sudden situations at reflex due to sailing, teaming up with Yel as the navigators of the group, and the first-aid person for serious situations. Not part of the Red-Retrieval club due to being just as prone to exploration, though. They kinda enable each other. Doesn’t care about rules unless he sets them up himself, because unlike other rules, he knows his own are there for survival, and you better listen to him. If something happens because you didn’t, that’s on you, and only you. But if something happens because you did listen to him, that’s equally on him, and he will carry that guilt alone. (So more of a neutral good, but a different flavor than Red, if that makes sense?)

Violet - your princess isn’t in another castle, she broke out after getting kidnapped to escape fulfilling [insert evil goal of every endboss here]. Literally. That’s her backstory. A very "the end justifies the means“ person, but more prone to stick to the rules while doing so, and only disregards them if necessary, but very willing. Has no problem with half-truths and playing mind chess against others. Pretty good at formulating plans beforehand, but can’t do it on a whim, quick to read the room, and kind of a history nerd. Also quite the cold judge. Unlike Red, Violet will never forgive you, no matter what you do, since there’s always a chance everything just repeats again. Also, pretty good at light magic, and thinks Mage is a bit shady because of his secrets (and not just because of his standard shadiness). She really doesn’t like when she‘s not getting information. But neither does Mage, so they found a common ground there, ironically. Either lawful or true neutral…? Not sure which one fits better.

Aaaand that’s them! Hope it’s not too different from what you expected? Tbh a lot of this is probably gonna chance anyways, I enjoy collecting and changing things gradually over time instead of sticking to a bunch of set notes. I mean, some info on them only exists because another anon‘s ask made me think about it, but doing it that way is pretty fun!

the thing is all you do about p3re is salt about it. I'm disappointed by a lot about p3re too but I don't go as far as you do and be a downer all the time. you've been accusing it as a p5 game with the p3 skin which i think is disingenuous, because they were giving p5-esque updates to a 2002 game, a game over 2 decades old

im just happy that you're not one of those people who are hoping that p3's ending would be changed.

I'm going to be honest........as they come out with stuff, I haven't found a whole lot to be happy about:

(addressing the P5 point here since it goes hand in hand The P5 comparison, and the one I have the most issues with are portions of the UI (I still never published that damn asks did I? shit damn it, well it's buried I'll have to get it at a different time). There's def gameplay features they've added (but more or less I expected them, and actual gameplay changes I'm.....a bit more lenient towards tbh, battle systems will evolve and I accept that). Plus there's the new SEES outfits which are.....very P5 coded....and a strange "we gotta add this!" type of change (aren't we "honoring P3"? why do they NEED a new outfit? Why can't we just have a costume called "PT costume" like the PT got a "Shadow OPs" costume?). THAT BEING SAID....I don't think I've brought up the P5 comparison since the SEES outfits tbh. At least...I thought I was more focused on P3R itself lately...... I should go back and compare it and see just how much influence of P5 I think is on there now that the initial shock has wore off. (that being said....I tried glancing through my blog and....I don't talk about P3R often on here ;w; It's like maybe 70%neg, 30% pos/neutral? I think the last big blow up was the lack of the concept art being on the train? They removed my fav MC. I love P3MC don't get me wrong, but I prefer FeMC. That being said, I love seeing them as a packaged deal. The work off each other so well. I hate how Atlus treats her fans it SUCKS. And IF we are lucky, she might be DLC???? I'm pissed at Atlus' DLC practices already, but this is a kick in the teeth. ;w;

They removed the Answser and Metis. Do I think the Answer is perfect? No. Do I have some issues with it? Yeah. But I love Metis, and good and bad, it's a big part of P3's story. And us not getting that is......really bad imo. Plus the possibility of MORE DLC???

They removed key gameplay features. Tired mechanic and split up mechanic being the biggest two (possibly reversals? I'm not sure on that, I don't mind reversals or even a play on the jealousy mechanic, I just think it needs to be reworked TT0TT). Two mechanics I loved and wished were in P4/5 tbh..... so yeah a bit salty, I've always felt it was a key feature of P3.

Still fucking DLC (not just P3R's fault, but still not a plus...or should I say negative?). And then the costumes aren't as good? TT0TT Thank god for the in game ones. orz At least they aren't making me pay for THOSE. DX

I....am not a fan of the new models and lighting. Soejima got me into Persona (I prefer the 25th anni art styles over this P3Rs), it's not that it's shit I just have a preference..... The lighting however.... and I've always kinda like Vanilla/FES's lighting scheme. There's parts of P3 that I just really love (the ones where they have special lightening and the rainbow). And P3R's.....just hurts my eyes ngl. TT0TT It's flat or bloomed, and then the models will look plasticy, it's just an assault on my eyes orz

Music.....I think I'm the kindest to the music, esp when covering the legacy songs. I don't mind covers. As long as I get an option to play the OG (I like options) then I'm fine. Edit: LOL NEVER MIND APPARENTLY THAT'S NOT THE CASE???? TT0TT WTF ATLUS??? I have some mixing issues (or Azumi's cursive singing) but even tho I labeled it as "salt." It's more of a "minor complaint" compared to other stuff on the list if I'm honest (maybe it'll sound better on my TV who knows)

Still no definitive version. It's related to FeMC/Answer, but really.....the damn questionnaires always listed Vanilla/FES/P3P. I know the biggest argument for a P3 remake was a definitive version. We still don't have that! I've been wanting one since before P3P was released! I knew this would be an issue! TT0TT

Maybe my salt is a bit more apparent because.....I love the originals......I mean I do have issues with them (Yukari/Junpei my be-loatheds), nothing's perfect, everyone has gripes about something even if they love it (*motions to the P4 fandom*). But with the new voice cast/possible translation (and new events) I'm willing to give them a chance (again.....like I always do orz).

I def don't want P3's ending to change. That being said, I'm not gonna be surprised if it does. "This might as well fucking happen" is my mentality atm (at best it's confirmed P3R is a new timeline, which I can dig but......is it really so hard to have one definitive ver???? orz). TT0TT If atlus really wants to keep using P3MC in future games (or heaven forbid FemC to an extent!) they really should play into the multi timeline. Might not be the P3MC we know as the SEES leader, but it's still a variation of him. (this way we keep the OG message in tact, explore/expand the lore, and still get to see an old face without "time warping/travel dream sequence" for the 1000th time, love those but moving forward is also good too TT0TT).

The answer.....didn't..... retcon..... TT0TT Ahhhh this is why the made the Answer, because people were confused. orz C'mon Atlus bring back the Answer! You've been screwing it over both in anime/movie and the manga like c'monnnnnn!!!! ;w;

I'm hoping the end product is going to be a lot better than than it looks atm (and that's why I'm going to give it a chance, the complaints I have are from the previews). P3R has been in the perpetual state of "we're so back/it's so over" for me TT0TT It's tiring. And I'm just trying to keep my expectations on the ground (I've already been kicked and then kicked while I'm down with FeMC/Metis, I'd rather stay down until I know it's safe to get back up ;w;)

But there's been a few things that have been......highlights.

Hermit seems to be the same with all the emojis and such (I don't think they are voiced which is both sad and fun, cause I like trying to act out the L33T speak myself)

I think Female SLs have had a strong/confirmed leak that they have a friend route (please! TT0TT god I've wanted this so much!)

While I didn't get the option of SLing my male teammates ;w; I am getting episodes (which is in the vein of that and other stuff I've wanted!) AND there might be some big stuff with Strega which is also something I wanted! (as afraid as I am for flanderization, at least we're getting this!)

More Aigis/MC good stuff (at least in full 3D)

Midori's tweets are unfortunately giving me SOME hope for FeMC/Answer DLC. (unfortunate because it's DLC and cause I dunno if me hoping is good for my health atm)

As much as I'm resistant to idea (lots of pros and cons, so I'm very conflicted), a part of me is kinda hoping it's a new timeline ngl. I'm just afraid of what.......that entails tho. Like if it's a new timeline, it would explain some....differences and that would be cool. But at the same time I'm....afraid of them changing the ending. I guess I'm preemptively trying to soften the blow in case it happens?

I guess the confliction is "exploring something new" vs "actually honoring the original work????" (which I'm not really feeling they are doing atm).

I dunno, if they wanted to just do a new timeline experimental thing I'd rather they ruin/mess with P4. As someone who prefers P4 Vanilla and can easily just play that as my definitive version, I would've been more down with them messing with P4, and keeping P1/2/3 more faithful and creating a definitive version.
