TTRPG with 02 Kiddos ft Rui-kun
Tumblr media
[AO3 Version]
• Canon compliant (KenMiya/Kenyako) + 02 group and Rui-kun (also includes DaiLui) • Comedy; Teen/Adult audiences.
Story: Takeru liked to read storybooks as a kid. He really enjoyed those stories from different places and cultures, myths and folktales. It’s not a surprise he was aiming to be a professional writer, and it was also working on his childhood memories alongside the digimon and the Chosen Children. It’s also not a big surprise that he would find fun in writing TTRPG sessions with friends -- yes, Hikari, Iori, Daisuke, Ken and Miyako. But this time he prepared something extra fun for their new friend, Rui.
-------------------//-------------------
The group of fearless warriors kept walking through the forest looking for the great evil who is trying to destroy their world and kingdom. In this group they had…
“Hey, Takeru quit narrating everything and hurry up! The kingdom won’t be saved if you keep doing monologues!!”
“Ah… But you see, I’m--”
“He’s right,” V-mon pouted, “Don’t you want to save the kingdom ruled by our king!?”
“Who was the king again…?” Patamon blinked.
“YOU FORGOT WHO’S OUR KING!?” Daisuke and V-mon gasped dramatically.
“... Did we mention a king before?”
“It’s Taichi-san,” Takeru explained, “Since he’s working in a Digital World-related department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs… Makes sense for him to be a king, right?”
“True,” Patamon nodded sagely.
“Y’ALL ARE WASTING OUR TIME!!” Daisuke interrupted them again, “Taichi-san will be mad if we don’t beat the great evil!”
“Huh, what’s ‘the great evil’ again?” Miyako popped in.
“The great evil, Ow the Edge. ”
“What?” Iori squinted his eyes, “I thought you would put Ichijouji-san as the enemy.”
“Excuse me…?” Ken looked at them, frowning, “My days of villainy have ended a long time ago, I don’t want to be the bad guy anymore.”
“Besides, I don’t want to date the villain!” Miyako pouted, “Unless you want an evil couple.”
“Here she goes, talking about her relationship status again,” Daisuke muttered in a growl. He hated the fact he’s still unable to confess his feelings for Hikari.
“What did you say, Dai-su-ke?” Miyako grabbed her guitar in hands, ready to smash it into Daisuke’s head.
“N-nothing??!” He babbled, wavering.
“I think we’re going off-topic,” Tailmon interrupted them, unamused.
“Who’s Ow the Edge, Takeru-san?”
“Ow the Edge…” Daisuke squinted, “Ain’t you making fun of Sh※d※w the H※dg※h※g, are ya!?”
“No, it’s definitely not related to Sh※d※w the H※dg※h※g. It’s just Ow the Edge.”
Daisuke’s brain couldn’t tell if Takeru was trolling them or being serious.
“Anyway, Ow the Edge is the evil guy and we’re going to beat him right now.”
“Wait a second,” They all looked at the seventh human there on the table, Rui.
“What is it, Rui-kun?” Hikari asked.
“I… I don’t understand why Takaishi-kun gave me this paper and told me to memorize it…”
“Oh I just made up something for you, to read. Don’t worry~”
Daisuke whispered to Rui, “When he says that, get ready for something terrible happening to your character. Trust me and Ken, we’re his favorite victims.”
Ken nodded in silence, agreeing with Daisuke. Rui was still not sure what that meant though….
“Where were we again?” Takeru said, then he cleaned his throat and proceeded with the story.
The group had the most loyal knight of the kingdom in the lead who wielded a glaive, a magician and a bard couple (the bard girl had an axe which was also her guitar, the magician boy a twin spear with the ability to turn enemies into allies when touched by its edges), a duo of archers wielding crossbows and a swordsman (the youngest of them!)
They were going into the Forbidden Forest and--
“One question,” Wormmon stopped the group, “Why is it forbidden?”
“You see, little familiar, the forest is forbidden because it’s off the kingdom’s domains.”
“So we would be violating by trespassing, am I correct?” Iori deadpanned.
“But we’re six people and six digimon,” Armadimon added, “To not be trespassing we should just let two people pass.”
“... Makes sense” Daisuke and V-mon mused.
“No, it makes no sense at all,” Ken sighed.
“Can you please let Takeru continue?” Tailmon stared at them.
“Ahem,” Takeru cleaned his throat again,
They were going into the Forbidden Forest and suddenly… It started raining. Then, the knight said…
“Alright, leave it to me, I’m a master of the lightning spells!”
“Is he really the right person for that?” Miyako whispered to Takeru, “Letting Daisuke play with fire is not a smart idea…”
“HEY, I have the Digimentals of Courage and Friendship!” Daisuke snapped, “It’s obvious I’d be experienced in fire and lightning magic!”
“True,” V-mon nodded, “It’s not like Daisuke had exploded things while cooking!”
“Yeah it’s not-- HEY!!” Daisuke stared at V-mon, angrily.
“I think I should use the power of my Digimental” Iori looked at his sword, “Why would we need The Digimental of Friendship if there’s no Lightnin--”
A strong lightning crashed into their direction, but the knight’s Lighdra-glaive’s spells protected the group.
“... Nevermind,” Iori blinked.
“Are you okay, Miyako-san?” Ken asked Miyako, who he was shielding with his own body.
“Y-yeah… I am, thank you Ichijouji-kun” she answered with a smile.
“Miyako-san…”
“Ichijouji-kun…”
They were going to kiss, but--
“STOP FLIRTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RAIN!!” Daisuke shouted, “I’M NOT A WALKING UMBRELLA FOR THAT!!”
“But you’re protecting us from the lightning, not from the rain,” Hawkmon corrected him.
“It’s Iori who is protecting us from the rain” Tailmon gestured to the boy using the Submari-Sword to keep them dry.
“But we’re not like third wheels for their romance!” Daisuke pouted.
“We’re six digimon and six humans, so we would’ve been the third, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten wheels” V-mon said as he counted in his fingers.
“I don’t mean it literally!! ”
“Oh…”
“I don’t mind that,” Iori said, then he and the group kept walking in the rain, but the sword was generating a force field protecting them from the water.
“Fine, fine… But stop flirting while we’re working!” Daisuke growled, and then kept using his glaive to control the lightning away from them.
“But…” Rui interrupted them again,
“Was it, Rui?” V-mon asked this time.
“Wouldn't it be more effective if they could seek a place to stay and wait for the rain to stop?”
They looked at each other and then to Rui…
“Are you criticizing Takeru’s story?” Patamon stared at Rui.
“Uh…”
“ANYWAY!!” Takeru said quickly, before they could get into a fight.
The group kept going through the dense and eerie Forbidden Forest,
“Why is it raining here though?” Wormmon asked, still on Ken’s back.
“Because of a spell casted by Ow the Edge” Takeru explained, “Human beings are not allowed in his territory.”
“Well, we should be closer!” Daisuke seemed fired up, then he pointed at the lair in the horizon, “THERE IT IS, THE… THE…”
The Lair of the Great Evil -- The LOGE.
“The Loge?” Hikari tilted her head.
“Are we going to a theater then?” Miyako blinked.
“No, the LOGE, not loge” Takeru corrected them, “It's an abbreviation of the ‘Lair of the Great Evil’.”
“Shouldn’t it be ‘LOTGE’ then?” Ken asked, unfazed.
“Lodge?” Daisuke frowned.
“No, it’s LOGE, we shouldn’t count ‘the’ there!” Patamon snapped.
“Why would you name it with a HARD abbreviation like that!?” V-mon complained.
“Oh I like to see your reactions” Takeru smiled.
“WHAT!?”
While the knight, the magician and the aspiring writer who’s also an archer were in a heated discussion about the lair’s name and abbreviation…
“...”
The mysterious and nefarious Ow the Edge appeared in front of them!!
“...”
“...?” Rui looked at Takeru on the table, confused.
“Ahem, Rui-kun it’s your turn.”
“Huh…?”
“The paper I gave you, it’s your character” Takeru gestured to the paper in front of Rui on the table.
“O-oh…”
“Wait,” Daisuke squinted his eyes at Takeru again, “Don’t tell me you…”
Like, I said… The mysterious and nefarious Ow the Edge appeared in front of them!!
“Oh ho ho ho… I’m Ow the Edge, the villain of this game…” Rui was… reading the paper normally?!
“Ow the Edge is Rui-kun??” Miyako exclaimed in confusion.
“Well… I’m--”
“You’re not taking it seriously enough…” Takeru sighed.
“Not enough…?”
“No offense but you’re reading and not acting, dagya.”
“Uh…”
“Yeah, you have to put some feelings on it!!” Patamon added.
“Hey guys, we shouldn’t go too harsh on Rui” Daisuke argued, “He’s still learning how to play!”
“True, I hate doing this but… Takeru-kun, can I simply give him an example?” Ken asked, politely and gently.
“Sure, you’re like a pro!” Takeru chuckled.
“Are you plannin’ to…” Daisuke raised an eyebrow.
Ken cleaned his throat and then…
“Huhu…HAHAHAHAHA, I’m the Digimon Kaiser, the one who controls the power of the darkness! I will dominate the Digital World and make you all OBEY me. CHERISH me. And LOVE me. Say, you dare to face me? HAH! Pathetic human beings, I’M THE PERFECT CHOSEN ONE! And ONLY ME can come here and PLAY this game!”
“Yeah, he just got overboard again…” Daisuke shrugged.
“Is he okay?” Rui was petrified by that 180º flip while the rest of the group was shaking their heads.
“Yeah, he got a little rusty since it had been like, 10 years since he was some edgelord throwing tantrums in the Digital World…” V-mon shrugged.
“Oh, that’s why Takaishi-kun said ‘like a pro’ when he asked permission to give an example…”
“R-rusty…??” Wormmon and Ken said, intrigued.
“I guess you unlearned how to be an edgelord, Ken…” Tailmon commented, shaking her head.
“I’m rusty…” Ken repeated it, quite disappointedly…
“Didn’t the Kaiser say ‘insects’ all the time?” Patamon mused.
“And he also used a whip,” V-mon added.
“He still uses the whip,” Wormmon and Hawkmon said out of the blue.
“Huh?” the others blinked. Ken and Miyako blushed awkwardly though.
“Are you sure this is the right hour to Talk about--” Daisuke squinted his eyes once again, this time at Ken, Wormmon, Miyako and Hawkmon.
“OKAY RUI-KUN” Takeru interrupted them quickly,  “YOU GOT YOUR CLASS OF ACTING SO GO AND UNLEASH THE EVIL IN YOU!!”
“A-alright… I guess I can try again” Rui nodded.
Then, Ow the Edge appeared in front of them, laughing maniacally and stomping his cane-staff on the ground!
“...OHOHOHO! I’m Ow the Edge, the great evil of the world! You peasants are stepping on my yard and you will regret it.”
He looked at Takeru, “Is it better…?”
“Yeah, a little better 👌” Takeru smiled.
“I’m rusty…” Ken was still sulking in the corner.
The warriors wielded their weapons, ready for an imminent clash--
“Hold on, I don’t think it’s right to fight him,” Daisuke interrupted them all.
“? Why not?” Hawkmon asked, “Isn’t he the source of all evil?”
“No, I’m the great evil, not the source of all evil” Rui said, deadpanned.
“Isn’t that the same thing!?” Patamon babbled.
“No?”
“I mean we can’t fight Rui, he’s our friend!” Daisuke argued back, “I can’t believe you did that to him, Takeru!”
“Daisuke, you're taking it too seriously now” Takeru chuckled nervously.
“No, you were just--”
“Or are you afraid of fighting me, Daisuke-kun?” Rui said it in a very seductive way with a smug smile.
“I… I don’t want to fight you, that’s all” Daisuke blushed and turned his face.
“Ok, I think he really got the spirit, dagya” Armadimon commented with the others, perplexed.
“Why not? You fought Ichijouji-kun in the past, didn’t you?” he scoffed.
“Yeah, but Ken was not our friend back in time!” Daisuke snorted, “So no, cut it out. I refuse to fight you!!”
“I guess you don’t care about your pathetic kingdom then,” Rui shrugged, “I’m the great evil, will you let your people perish only to spare me?”
“I’ll save you too then!” Daisuke stomped his foot on the floor.
“Where did I see this scene before…” Tailmon mused.
“Uh… It was when you confronted Ken-chan, I guess” Wormmon replied.
“So, will you accept defeat, Daisuke-kun?”
“No, I won’t!” Daisuke snapped, cupping Rui’s face “I will come after you no matter what you say, no matter what Takeru makes you do! You’re MY friend and I refuse to fight you!!”
“... W-what??” Rui blushed.
“HOLD ON!!” Miyako shouted, and interrupted their game.
“Daisuke, what’s wrong with you?” She looked at Daisuke, seriously, “This is just a game, a harmless game, no one is going to fight for real here!!”
“But I.. I… * ahem * I was also acting, yeah… Uh… yeah,” he immediately took his hands off Rui’s face, babbling.
Though Rui was… also blushing awkwardly.
“I guess someone is not into Hikari anymo--” V-mon had Daisuke covering his mouth again.
“Uh, what?” Hikari blinked.
“DON’T LISTEN TO V-MON HE’S… HE’S TOO TIRED FROM THE GAME, SO UH… I LEFT MY RAMEN ON THE STOVE, BYE!!” and he left the table, carrying V-mon.
“... Did I do something wrong?” Rui frowned.
“No, you just managed to beat Daisuke-kun without fighting him,” Takeru said awkwardly, “Don’t take it seriously.”
“Oh… Okay…?”
With the knight and his familiar out of the battle, Ow the Edge smirks and turns into the rest of the group and says:
“One down, Five left.”
“HOW CRUEL!!” Hikari screams, “HE WAS WILLING TO HELP YOU!”
“... You can touch me, really. I’m untouchable.”
“What do you mean?” Iori raised an eyebrow.
“... I’m cursed, remember? Great evil… We need an excuse for Daisuke-kun’s absence, sorry.”
“Ooh…” Armadimon exclaimed, “That’s clever.”
“We shouldn’t touch him then!” Hawkmon nodded.
“Alright,” Takeru said with a serious gaze, “if Daisuke is not here, the second-in-command is Ken-kun so--”
“... I’m rusty.”
Everyone looked at Ken, who was still sulking like a kid in the corner.
“Ichijouji-kun?” Miyako blinked, “What’s wrong?”
“You guys said I’m rusty… I don’t like to be the Digimon Kaiser anymore, but it’s still part of me… I created him and now I’m… I’m unable to be him even for a simple TTRPG sample!!”
“Y-you’re upset that you can’t do the Digimon Kaiser anymore!?” the five babbled, intrigued.
“... 💧” Rui blinked, still not sure what was going on.
“I guess we accidentally beat Ken,” Patamon shook his head.
“Two down…?” and yet Rui is still confused about this entire game.
“I think I need a break” Ken sighed, and then he and Wormmon left the table.
“Ah, wait…!” Miyako called him, but then she turned to the rest of the group, “I will calm him down and we will be back! Let’s go, Hawkmon!”
“Right, Miyako-san!”
Then Miyako and Hawkmon went after Ken and Wormmon. Rui frowned, he was thinking maybe he was just really bad at playing tabletop games…
Takeru sighed, “Well, I guess it’s only the four of us now… And our digimon partners, of course.”
“If you… want to stop I’m okay with it” Rui was feeling very awkward right now.
“Are you guys still up to it?”
“I’m curious about how it will end,” Iori mused.
“I don’t mind continuing it…” Hikari added.
“They might come back, didn’t they say it?” Armadimon asked, looking at the entrance of the apartment.
“Hmm… We’re at Daisuke’s house, so it would be odd if he just left” Tailmon replied with a shrug.
“I wonder where he went…” Patamon said, looking at Takeru.
“...”
With the couple down, our brave group was reduced into three members and their familiars. The heavy atmosphere of the heated battle against Ow the Edge and our heroes intensified second by second.
“I guess you can’t beat me.”
Said the great evil with a shrug. His cocky attitude and malicious grin were making the last hope of the Kingdom weaver, but FEAR NOT! The good guys had a trump card in their hands.
“Trump card??” Rui, Hikari, Iori and the digimon exclaimed, confused.
“Oh trust me, being an amateur writer means I need to make the story a little exciting.”
“But what’s that trump card, dagya?”
“It’s a secret.”
“WHAT!?”
“What does it supposed to mean!?” Hikari and Iori exclaimed.
“So… To be sure,” Rui approached them, “What happens if I beat you three? Do I win?”
“Technically yes,” Iori explained, “But this is an ongoing game, we have sessions and turns, so you could say you would win a turn or session.”
“The others can come back, can’t they?” He was worried about Daisuke and Ken’s reactions to that game though…
“Yup,” Patamon nodded, “They’re not dead in this game, unless the Game Master kicks them off the game.”
“Oh… So I didn’t kill them in-game…” he sighed in relief.
“Yeah, but don’t worry about that!” Tailmon smiled, “Takeru will find a way to add them again once they’re back.”
“But what is that trump card, dagya??” Armadimon pouted.
“It’s…”
“It’s…?”
“...”
“...?”
The aspiring writer and archer then summoned… A jar of sugar.
“A JAR OF SUGAR!?” Hikari exclaimed.
“Isn’t Rui-san…” Iori looked at Rui.
“Uh… Am I supposed to… do some dramatic reaction at the fact he got a jar of sugar?”
“Wait, I thought you hated sweets,” Patamon blinked.
“Yes, I do.. So… Uh… * ahem *”
“NO, MY ONLY WEAKNESS…!! SUGAR!!” He dramatically knelt on the floor, using the cane as support, “I’M DYING… NOOOO!!”
“We haven't used it yet” Takeru looked at him, deadpanned.
“Oh… Ok.”
The aspiring writer and archer then showed the jar to Ow the Edge, and with a firm tone of voice he threatened:
“We will end your days of evil with the HolyAngemon Sugar Brand! UNLESS!!”
“Wait, are you sparing me too??”
“No, I’m proposing a deal!”
“Ah, I see… You want something in return…”
“We won’t use the sugar if you stop threatening the kingdom,” Iori explained.
“Hmm…”
“You will undo the evil deeds you caused to us,” Patamon added.
“What evil deeds…?” Rui then took the paper and started checking the text, “Uhh… Fine, fine.”
“And you will turn all the sweets you turned into dust back to normal, dagya!”
“Wait… Did I go this far before…? 💧”
“No, Armadimon is just doing an ad-lib right now,” Tailmon shrugged.
“I suppose it’s because you don’t like sweets,” Hikari added, “You would turn them into dust.”
“... I might not like sweets but I have no problem with them,” Rui shrugged, “It’s just… I don’t like it that much…”
“Oh… I’m sorry” Armadimon bowed his head awkwardly.
“It’s okay, no hard feelings.”
And then the warriors stopped the great evil and everyone lived happily after.
“So we--”
“AH CRAP, I REALLY OVERCOOKED IT!!” They heard Daisuke’s voice from the kitchen.
“Daisuke, are you okay--” Takeru said and he and the others ran to the kitchen.
“Noooooooo… MY RAMEN!!” he dramatically cried.
“He really left his ramen on the stove…” Patamon commented.
“You thought we were joking!?” V-mon snapped, “It was our dinner!! For the night of games!!”
“Oh… Oh no” Armadimon sniffed, “Our dinner…”
“It’s okay everyone!!” They heard Miyako’s voice from the entrance of the apartment, “Our girl Miyako and her boyfriend had brought some dinner for us all!!”
“Miyako and Ken saved our dinner, dagya!!” Armadimon chirped.
“Hmm… Yeah, maybe we can eat ramen another day” Daisuke smiled, "Alright folks! Let’s clean the table and eat!”
“Alright!!” They all said together.

Little Slayer 3| TLoVM x platonic!reader
Preface| Every party had their outlier. For some, most people would think it was Scanlan of the legendary group Vox Machina. Yet as we know fate has its own working on the matter.
Enter amnesiac Y/N who happened to cross their paths. For the most part they appeared utterly normal as a human could be but well as the party would soon realize there is more to them than meets the eye.
Word Count| 1490

--
[A/N]: Hey, I hope you are enjoying the series so far! Part 4 is in the works and I hope its not too much to ask but if you all would not mind commenting or sharing an emoji in reaction to the story so far. Thank you all for the likes on it that have liked it!
Also I started posting the story on Wattpad also if you prefer reading on there. It's with the same name.
Happy reading!
Vax and Vex watched you with fixated interest as you approached their group. Keyleth had finally managed to join them but also watched your figure walking towards them. She and Pike’s eyes flickered in recognition of you.
The twins on the other hand were undecided if they should kill you then and their or at most harm you because for all they knew it could be a ruse.
It was possible you were playing them and they fell into your trap.
“How do we know it’s real?” Vex was the first to speak to you, albeit with a cold attitude as she seemed to want to shoot you from where you stood. Pike and Keyleth sent her questioning looks, confused in her change in attitude especially since it was toward someone they just met. Yet the look on Vax’s eyes told them to follow their lead.
You began to sweat even though you weren’t guilty of anything. Why was she being cold to you?
“I saw when you all were fighting it, just before he took off with Grog that he had something behind his jaw err jawbone,” you slightly stammered as her steely gaze held you like a vice. “You couldn’t tell because of his skin but he has gills… like a fish,” you continued. “— and smoke covered them too so yeah you couldn’t really see them.”
“It makes sense why I hadn’t seen any smoke coming out of his nostrils,” remarked the cleric as she thought back to their battle just moments before. “I thought it was coming from his mouth
but this changes everything.”
Keyleth, holding her staff, nodded in agreement. “She’s right, we would all just need to attack at those vulnerable areas to take him down,” added the air Ashari.
“Yes but in order for that to work he has to be on the ground with all of us present,” Vex who finally  let go of her locked gaze with you turned to speak toward her friends. She wasn’t done with you even though she now had her back to you. Unsure on what you should do, you remained at where you stood as the unplanned spectator among their midst.
The aura from earlier was different now that the twins took the lead.
Maybe you should run.
As you debated about leaving, the footfalls of approaching company was heard much closer than your liking as you turned your head to see the man with glasses and Scanlan close to reaching the five of you.
“Sorry we’re late, it wasn’t easy trying to get everyone out,” the bard was the first to speak upon arrival yet paused before noticing your figure.
“Is that… the kid?!” he shrieked in surprise as panic washed over him. “What are they doing here?! You—“ he was walking toward you. “— should go! You’re going to get yourself killed!”
You merely held up your arms in surrender as Scanlan spouted reasons why you shouldn’t be there, yet you felt the eyes of the gunslinger once more. You looked up, seeing his gaze rested on you and you could see in his eyes he seemed conflicted as well.
‘Man everyone sure seems to have a problem with me… I should have just left before they came.’ you sighed to yourself as you felt the gaze of Vex return on you.
‘Not that we do actually want them to leave…’ were among the archer’s thoughts as she lowered herself to the ground. But perhaps she and Vax were wrong, your eyes spoke truth when you spoke about the weakness on Scargone’s head.
Still she was wary.
“They were telling us about a weak spot they found Scan,” the voice of Pike broke her out of her mental musings. “Don’t tell me it’s up its ass again…” he groaned, face-palming himself while the Matron’s champion looked off to the side.
They did not want to remember that experience for quite a while.
“Technically you created that for yourselves,” Keyleth slightly teased while Percy chuckled. “True but we don’t have a trap or anything to take it down…” the de Rolo commented as his expression then grew serious. “What do we have left?” he questioned as the gears of his mind worked in overdrive in trying to formulate a plan.
Always the analytical one that man with glasses seemed to be in your perspective.
“We still have Grog on him,” piped up Pike. “He stayed on longer than last time.”
“Well whatever the plan may be, we can’t have the child around.” Vax who had been quiet for the most part finally spoke as he walked toward your short stature. “You should run along as you can now. Thanks for your help, we’ll handle it from here.” he said once he reached where you stood, his voice neutral but his eyes were another story.
Conflicted, you read even though you weren’t sure how you knew that as you nodded slowly in understanding.
He did not want to let you go either, but they had bigger things to worry about at the moment.
You took a step back from him before noticing the rest of the group had grown quiet as they also had their eyes on you.
“Good luck, then. I uh hope… you all survive.” you spoke truthfully as you bid them farewell with a wave.
You could still feel their gaze on you even after you turned on your heel to walk away from them. It wasn’t until you were out of sight that with your hearing you could hear Scanlan as the one who was the first to speak.
“What the hell was that for?! I saw what you guys were doing!” he hissed as he pointed a finger at the half-twin elves. “A precaution, darling..” was all Vex uttered in response, ignoring his directed anger as she walked to stand beside her brother.
“Nevermind that, do we at least have something to take down that beast?” Percy took the lead on changing the topic of the conversation as the gnome grumbled in the background. He also wanted to talk about the topic further but not when they had to slay a dragon. It also did not sit right with him that they had to let you go but for his reasons they were entirely different from Vex and Vax.
In his eyes he saw his poor, destitute self every time he saw you.
Maybe it was why he felt a kinship to you.
“Well I was thinking,” his thoughts were interrupted when he heard Keyleth speak.
If they survived, perhaps he could find you. But for now he pushed his feelings aside so that he could listen to his comrades plans for the time being.
Even though you were out of sight, you were able to hear part of what the group was speaking about, such as when Scanlan chastised the twins from what you presumed.
As much as they outright told you that you weren’t wanted, even by their body language; you found yourself stopping short from taking another step.
That feeling from earlier resonated once more with you.
Was your body telling you not to leave?
But why?
Somehow you thought maybe this has to do with who you once were prior to your amnesia.
‘I hate this. I could have been a badass for all I know and I don’t remember it…’ a sigh escaped your lips as the feeling of hopelessness settled within you. ‘... but nothing.’
You were at a crossroads. On hand, your body seemed to know something that you obviously didn’t know but on the other hand, your presence wasn’t needed.
It was all very confusing.
How could you know if you should really bite fear in the butt?
“Stay.”
“Huh?” you looked up in search of the voice. You hadn’t realized you were not alone. But you saw nothing other than the ongoing flames of the fire around you.
“Stay.”
You heard the voice again.
“Destiny if this is you… you suck at it.” you voiced your frustration as you ran your hand through your hair. “What can I do?”
You were met with nothing in response. You sighed, your eyes closing in that moment yet you felt that dangerous feeling from before.
You looked up to see something move quickly in the night sky. Scargone was still working to get Grog off him based on the different spouts of flames that lit up the dark of the night.
“You know what… screw it. I’m done doubting myself.”
With a new conviction and the burning thought that this was the second stupidest thing you had done that day, you headed back to where Vox Machina would continue to fight the dragon.
You’ll take your chances with them later. It’s not like they were your family or anything, you were your own person.
That and you weren’t exactly a kid… you’re in your late teens damnit!

Tav ask meme! 1, 3, and 12 for allllllll of your guys >:3c
HIIII THANK U <3 ok here we go
here’s the ask meme post btw for those. who want to also ask :)
Venali Kelvyre (Human wild magic sorcerer)
1) What would your Tav’s greetings be (at different levels of approval)?
- Negative: A disdainful “What?”, simply an arched brow, or “Make it quick.”
- Neutral: “How can I help?” “Sorry, did you say something?” “Sure, I have a moment.”
- Good: “Good to see you :)” “What do you have for me?” “Always a pleasure.”
- Romanced: Said with all the love in her heart, “There you are.” “How are you, darling?” “Anything you ask.”
3) What would their character quest be titled? Why?
A hard one to answer bc her full personal quest can’t be completed during the events of the game. So probably it would have something to do with Finally, after 7 years of searching, discovering what exactly she needs to do to rid herself of her magic. Which I haven’t figured out yet. But also she lied about being a wizard for seven years so Probably something along those lines. The Sorcerous Charlatan or something is that dumb
12) Does you Tav have any tattoos or scars? Why?
Yes to scars, no to tattoos. She has your general wear and tear of doing field work and then a side of adventuring to search for hidden information (even before being tadpoled), but most notably are the scars on her lips and forehead. She got hit by falling rubble while escaping The Ruin with her remaining friends.
My other friends under the cut
Tozra Cardove (Half-elf college of swords bard)
1) What would your Tav’s greetings be (at different levels of approval)?
- Negative: “Make it quick.” “Oh, you wanna talk?” “If you must.”
- Neutral: “How’s it going?” “Hail, companion!”
- Good: “Just the person I wanted to see.” “Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.”
- Romance: “Lovely as always.” “Sorry, I’m a bit flustered.” “Forgive me if I swoon.”
3) What would their character quest be titled? Why?
“The Would-Be Knight” bc before being tadpoled he did play fights during festivals in Baldur’s Gate. He was well liked by those he entertained, and is actually skilled with his sword. But he is first and foremost an entertainer. Idk the rest of his story yet.
12) Does you Tav have any tattoos or scars? Why?
Yes, two slashes across his nose. His opponent, both on stage and in real life, didn’t pull his blows. It was an intentional strike that knocked him out for an important show one season.
———
Mercury (Tiefling battle master fighter)
1) What would your Tav’s greetings be (at different levels of approval)?
- Negative: “Ugh, what?” “Why don’t I just drop everything?” “Talk.”
- Neutral: “Hey.” “Got something?”
- Good: “My favorite helper.” “Where are we going?” “Shoot.”
- Romanced: “Hey, love.” “You lead, I follow.” “Aren’t you a doll.”
3) What would their character quest be titled? Why?
“Her Sister’s Keeper” bc. Well I had to modify her actual lore a bit to make it work in bg3 bc she is Originally an alchemist artificer who makes potion bombs and she lost her sister in a lab accident so I kinda made her into a sort of. Mercenary fighter for the sake of bg3. Idk, she was my first playthrough and I didn’t really wanna start with a whole new chatavyer so I borrowed one of my other ones. Anyway, something to do with that.
12) Does you Tav have any tattoos or scars? Why?
Yes to both. She’s covered in tattoos of alchemical symbols because she thinks it looks cool, but she also has burn scars all over from her lab exploding.
———
Clandestine (Tiefling gloomstalker ranger/assassin rogue)
1) What would your Tav’s greetings be (at different levels of approval)?
- Negative: *Disapproving Grunt*
- Neutral: “Hm?”
- Good: “Hm.” (but nicer this time)
- Romanced: “Hello.”
3) What would their character quest be titled? Why?
These are actually really hard to come up with did you know! They’re a huge buff stealth build assassin with the outlander background. Idk her story yet. Maybe something about being an archer. “The Green Archer” perhaps
12) Does you Tav have any tattoos or scars? Why?
All Sorts of scars from a lifetime of picking (and winning) fights. A notable slash across his face from a particularly difficult job hunting an ogre.

So! I have one main OC right now!
I started playing FFXIV in December--I've tried a few times before, but it never stuck, but this time! OMG! I got hardcore into it, and have absolutely fallen in love with my player character, in a way I NEVER did in World of Warcraft, even though I've played it off and on since 2005.
My Warrior of Light is R'aelyn Vahe, a Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te (catgirl). She started as an archer, but became a dragoon after the Bloody Banquet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND I LOVE HER!
She's cheerful, sweet, wants nothing more than to be helpful, and is also incredibly stubborn and determined and doesn't know when she's beat. She will keep going long past the point she probably should've given up--which is useful for saving the world, but not so great for saving herself.
She grew up in a small village in the North Shroud (forest) with her mother, her mother's partner, and her aunt as well as all their kids. Her father was a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, and in Keeper society males don't stay to raise their kids, they're raised by their mothers--but her mother liked her father well enough because he was a bard and charming that he stuck around until she was about five. She has two older sisters and a younger brother who she absolutely adores, as well as tons of cousins. But as much as she loves her whole family, she never quite felt like their small encampment was enough for her, so she headed to Gridania, the nearest city, to see how she could use her skill with a bow to help people--and that got her caught up in the events of the game.
She's traveled all over since, and made lots of new friends--the best of which is @maplelantern's WoL R'egan--and fallen in love. Which was a whole thing that extended over several expansions, thanks to a certain redhaired, redeyed catboy's noble self-sacrificing tendencies. (and also means that I'm writing for an m/f ship--though still queer since both of them are incredibly bi--which is a total departure from the usual for me)
And she's inspired me to write TONS of fun ficlets with an incredible freedom and abandon I haven't felt in years. I am so impressed with FFXIV's ability to make your player character feel like a real part of the action, like their relationships with the NPCs are real and matter--and like your WoL is important, even when it's an MMO. It's leagues better than WoW that way, and has given me a character I absolutely love, to the point where yes, she's an OC, but she's also a blorbo.
And if anyone even read this far and wants to hear more, I will blabber about her FOREVER so please. feel free to ask!
(in response to the "gush about my oc" meme)

Blythe I have many questions istg because I love this fic, it’s one of my favourites and we’re only two chapters in 😭
1. Is El a Mage?
2. Do the rest of the party members (I mean Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Max) have the attributes of their DnD positions; for example, Lucas is a ranger which I believe has a skill for archery, and the house Sinclair are full of great archers!
3. Now this is one I don’t see often, but is there gonna be Will and Holly meetings because whenever I read a fic where Will looks after Holly with Mike or something, it’s always so funny and sweet!
4. What are the actual ages of the characters? I might have missed it but I don’t remember Mike having an age before he said “ten years later” when he went back within his memories
5. How do you PLAN your stories? Because they are all so good and I just wonder how it works behind the screens!
6. Will we see Max in the next few chapters?
7. Is being a scholar something Mike still wants to accomplish? Will that be apart of his internal conflict?
8. THIS IS THE LAST ONE (I think, I’m sorry I’m just so invested 😭) with the visions you describe in the story, how are they, like, done? Is it like, glazed eyes or is it a little seizure (hope that isn’t an offensive term to call it 😅) and do they only come across certain people such as Clerics, kings, heirs etc?
i had to pull out my laptop to answer this one, and believe me, i am SO excited to do so.
1.el is a mage!! getting a bit deep into lore bits here, el wound up on hopper's doorstep when she was around five, and was already showing signs of magic posession (in this world, magic is an inherited trait; some are born with it, some aren't, some families have higher potential of magic passing on while others almost never see it). hopper, interestingly enough, comes from a noble family sworn to house henderson. his family has a strong history of becoming learned healers and dabbling in that sort of magic, and growing up in this environment allowed him to pass on his knowledge to el, and, as we will see in will chapters to come, will as well. so yeah, the wonder twins have cool powers!!
2. yeah, they do! while lucas is a knight and can swing a sword pretty well, he always carries around a bow with him, too. the sinclairs are a house known for their wisdom in battle strategy and they often end up training the best soldiers in the kingdom, so lucas is a great example of these house sinclair traits. he can handle pretty much anything that comes his way with a clear head, unlike dustin, as we will see in chapter two when they encounter the cursecaster. dustin definitely has bard like traits; he would be the one to tell stories and sing songs on a long expedition like the one they are on now. max, on the other hand, may have some traits of her dnd character (i don't even know if zoomer is a real class but whatever). max is the commander of the king's guard, basically the big boss of all of the knights of hawks nest, and she is known as 'the sun's knight.' i guess she is pretty fast on horseback, so... i suppose she can be considered similar to her dnd counterpart!
3. will and holly will certainly have a meeting when he is still disguised. mike eventually grows smitten with the cleric, and introduces him formally to his family, so there will be a will and holly meeting at one point!
4. in the current timeline, the characters are all 20. when mike was in his flashback sequence, they were was 10; will has been missing for 10 years. nancy is 13 in the flashbacks, and 23 now, same with jonathan. mike became a knight when he was 15, and has been a knight for 5 years when the story picks up!
5. when it comes to planning, i'm not the best actually?? i kind of just think up the ideas in my head and ... remember them. like, this is my first time truly writing any of this down, because honestly it mostly just exists in my brain lol. that's all there is to it.
6. yes!! max makes an appearance at the very end of the upcoming chapter 2 when our cast finally returns to king's crest. she has a very important and vital role in the story.
7. YES!!! mike's dream since he was little was to be a scholar, and we saw that get tragically ripped away from him in chapter one, and in chapter two, we see an event happen that truly seals the deal. he had no desire to be a lord, and he certainly had no desire to be a knight; however, being from house wheeler, when he has become loyal to someone, it is difficult for him to turn away from those oaths/vows, a main issue for his character coming up in the future chapters.
8. visions are a tricky thing to describe when you are outside of the pov of the character experiencing them. in the prologue, with wilmot the wise, we see him get visited by ienta herself to provide him with the prophecy we see later on. i'd imagine that to the outside viewer, wilmot would simply be staring off into space with glazed eyes, and any sort of interruption or shaking would not be enough to wake him. will experiences visions the same way.
this was SOOOOO much fun. as you know, i love answering questions, so this really made my day. sorry if i wrote to much lol. thank you for taking the time to do this. :3

FE7 Novelization Translation: Book 1 - Front Cover & Introductory Pages
Hello everyone and welcome to the start of yet another new Fire Emblem novelization translation! Yes, it really is that time again!
And get hype! This time, the game of choice was FE7!
I'll be translating this book set slower than normal, over the span of the remainder of this year and all of 2023, but it's a big one with about 650 pages total between both books, so there's plenty of content to keep giving everyone lots to read over all that time.
This one starts out with a pretty big spin making it stand out from the game right away. Can't wait to see everyone's thoughts on it in the coming weeks, when we start getting into the actual story!

tell me all about ivy Grey pls I'm curious
yes... YESSSSS
Ivy Grey is my blorbo, my bun son, my beloved final fantasy xiv character
Tumblr media
(i would take a screenshot rn if i wasnt working my way through the last bit of... i think i have 30 expert crafts left for an achievement)
it should be noted that my adoration towards ivy has led to this
Tumblr media
(he's where he belongs)
however, with the unfortunate...ness with blorbos, being that you only really rotate them in your mind. its hard for me to describe THE ivy grey in impeccable detail on the spot
some facts, however, include: - he enjoys any sugary treat, so much. he will eat an entire christmas cake by himself - he has a daughter, and they are friends, however neither of them know that she is his daughter - ivy was once the best archer in his home. this continued on until... some point in ARR msq, where he had a horrible injury and hasn't been able to archery since. after that point, he switched around with jobs(white mage/scholar in heavensward, red mage in stormblood, reaper in shadowbringers and endwalker) frankly, i thought about having him get back his archery skill (because i main bard for savage raids), plus the whole vibe at the end of 6.0 msq fit with it, but also i'm just not sure how i feel about it.
alright i think i was able to fit more Ivy Facts™ than i thought i could. THANK YOU FOR ASKING ABOUT MY IVY 💖💖💖

(”If you plan to push me down the waterfall--”
“Not when we have lives on the line!” Cross snapped back. She jumped down ahead of him as he stared after her in surprise. “If I wasn’t here to save our world, I would’ve pushed you off to lighten you up, sure, but now’s not the time!”
Hades blinked, then quickly recovered his composure and followed after her.)
Of course Meteion’s running was because her sisters had found something she didn’t want to be a part of. Of course something had to have gone horribly wrong with whatever was out in space.
And of course Hermes had to go berserk, transform in front of them, and take off and hide somewhere to listen to Meteion’s report -- something she said would break him when he heard it.
Her pleas for her to protect them settled in her ears as they ran through the research facility, trying to catch up with Hermes. It didn’t stop her from working in sync with her three companions, but....
(”I didn't take you for an archer,” Hythlodaeus remarked.
“I was trained in it when I was young,” Cross said, “but this is my Bard set, actually! I use song to bolster your attacks and mine.”
“I thought I’d noticed a brief strengthening of the aether.”
“You should have chosen something else to diversity our attacks,” Hades shot over his shoulder as he took another attack with his broadsword.
“I would have, but I don’t have the best gear for my Black Mage right now,” Cross shot back. “Between the two, I like my destructive magics more, but I keep finding things I can use with my bow.”
The comment caught Hades by surprise, and he looked over his shoulder with a raised brow.
“I know how to use a little of everything, but give me the chance to blow something up and I’ll do it!”
Hades rolled his eyes, doing his best to hide his shock. “Ah, yes; there’s the Azem I know.”)
And then Hermes caught them in a trap at the top of his research facility, as Meteion succumbed to despair and transformed with Dynamis, as she said she was going to bring them to oblivion because that was the only way to bring happiness, because her sisters only found dead and dying planets.
And...he gave in. Cross could see them -- the seeds of what would become the crazed Fandaniel, the suicidal Amon, had been sewn. He decided that, because the ancients destroyed what they thought were anomalies, they should let the universe -- let Meteion -- decide if man should be allowed to live.
And to even the scales, he would use the magick of his facility to make them forget that a judgement was being passed. That Meteion was bringing the Final Days to them.
Hades, Hythlodaeus, and Venat worked together to get Cross out before the magick could take effect, at the sacrifice of Hades’ and Hythlo’s own memories of their time together those last few days. They tried to catch Meteion as she fled, but the little bird girl was too fast to be grounded.
...as much as Cross wanted them to remember, to know her, she knew this had to happen. This had to play out, for her future to be secure in the way that it was.
Emet-Selch telling her to not let their legacy go to waste...she could see him saying Remember Us again in her mind.
Venat quickly showed her back to her exit point. As much as Cross wanted to smack Hermes silly for what he’d done...she couldn’t when he’d caused himself to forget. And he was already dead in the present. They had a plan now, at least, and information.
And a target.
Meteion wanted Cross to protect the world from her? She’d do exactly that.
...as soon as she could get all the Scions in one place and tell them “Hey, Elidibus sent me to the past and we need to talk to Venat.”
Garlemald was looking to be that place. Again.
Except, this time, under red skies....

"Companions in a snowball fight."
Snowed a bit ago. Got told off by Lex. Life goes on. Have it so that there is some magical protection around Skyhold and that’s why it’s rather green up in the snowy mountains, but every once in a while, it’ll snow pretty heavily and get through. -Cabot
Cullen
He kept saying he had too much to do, too much to plan. Doesn’t even know how you convinced a bunch of his men to join in, but wasn’t going to stop them. They needed a break anyways. Apparently, they thought he needed one as well since a second later a snowball soared over and smacked him in the face. The soldiers waited for the commander’s yelling but instead the soldier who hit him got a face full of snow a second later. Being from a big family, he knows how to hold himself in a snowball fight.
Josephine
You were able to convince her to take a break from her writing and letters and, once she was dressed for snow, came outside to the battle that was already underway. Someone help her, she doesn’t know how to make a snowball nor who to hit. She keeps ducking behind you or taking cover whenever a snowball is thrown at her. Finally gets a hit, but it’s Cullen who she hits. She brought this man into this fight, but no one needs to know that.
Leliana
You understand that she’s your spymaster, a bard, and one of the best archers ever? Yes? Just making sure. She already has a plan and the beginning of it is to convince everyone that the snowball fight is childish and she would rather not join in. Of course, it comes as a surprise when you all get walloped in the head from the battlements but when you guys check, no one’s there. Doesn’t help that she soon shows she’s on no one's side but her own and is taking out her own people. There is no right or wrong in a snow war. Only body counts.
Vivienne
She’d rather just watch, thank you. This is too childish for her taste, but does enjoy trying to predict who will win with others. Some people say she was tipping it in her favor since every once in a while a random snowball will come from nowhere and hit another. Yes, way too childish for your taste, Vivienne.
Varric
Would’ve been one of the hardest targets to hit if he didn’t feel like running his mouth every five seconds. Didn’t start the snowball fight but dragged most people into it. His precise aiming also helps since he always gets his targets, mostly hitting Solas or Cassandra. And, after all this time, he agrees to letting Bull throw him. Ever seen a dwarf fly? The inquisitor has.
Cole
He remembers vaguely snowball fights from those memories he had seen, but never experienced them. After a quick and thorough explanation, he thinks he’s got the idea. One minute, he’s there, the next, he’s gone and you’re on the ground with snow all over you. He might have just learned it but he’s pretty good. Gets to a point where you have to ban him from disappearing because Sera calls it cheating.
Solas
Absolutely not. He already has to deal with Sera, but giving her the privilege of throwing something at him? No thank you. Occasionally steps out to see how it’s going though, make sure that no one is actually dying while shaking his head at how ridiculous this is (mortals, am I right?). Of course, that doesn’t stop him from suddenly getting hit in the side of the head while reading in the library by a certain elf, who finds herself getting covered in snow later. Solas denies everything but is much happier.
Cassandra
No. Just, no. When you ask her, she stares at you for a few seconds before going back to whatever she was doing. You try to convince her a few more times to join and she refuses until you say the magic words “You get to pelt Varric with snowballs.” At first, Varric has the upper hand against her, until she finds where he’s hiding. Even Bull is impressed by the size of the snowball she made for Varric.
Iron Bull
It’s all fun and games until you get the mercenary to join. He might be a bigger target but that just means it’s gonna take more than a few snowballs to take him down. He plays it out as if he was out on the battlefield, coming up with tactics to take everyone out. Doesn’t help that his snowballs are a little bit bigger. He is taken down after the Chargers pulled a fast one and dumped the snow on the top of the tavern onto him.
Dorian
Coming from a much warmer place, this is his first snowfall and, surprisingly, wants to try everything. Warm clothes? Check. Warm drinks? Check. Friends who are aiming for the person who is still getting used to this? Check. He’s an easy target, most people aiming for the pompous man, but they soon learn to fear him. Another rule has to be made in place of Dorian using his magic to knock a pile of snow onto Blackwall.
Sera
You can bet she’s the one who started it and got most people into it. Doesn’t matter how many times she gets hit, how many times she’s taken down, she always gets back up and gets her revenge. Honestly, it was a needed break for everyone and Sera knew it, but won’t admit it. It also gave her a way to test out some other tricks she was planning on using when on the battlefield. Also lets her see the others having fun, even (Gasp!) Vivienne and Solas. Still doesn’t explain how she got the snow in Solas’s room.
Blackwall
He was just watching when Sera hit the inquisitor with a snowball then proceeded to hit others as well. Gave him a good chuckle until she spotted him. You’ve never seen this man run so fast and neither has he. Sera is quite disappointed until he sneaks up on her and dumps snow onto her. He has chosen war. He hasn’t had this much fun since...never. At the end, he’s just lying in the snow, claiming the battle had taken him and to leave him to his fate.
All in all, when your little snow battle is over, you and the others are all sitting around the tavern fire, enjoying some drinks and relishing in the glow of the battle.

So I run a D&D campaign and y’all are gonna hear about it lmao /pos
I’ll post this and reblog with each session summary!
Firstly! Context! I am a first time DM and the party consists of my classmates! There’s Theodos, an elven rogue who messed around with a royal and paid the price, she also adopts everything in sight but is a questionable parent. Greg the dwarven rogue who causes 90% of the shit the party gets into after he deserted a war due over a chicken. Starling an arakocra rogue who just steals everything. Noodle the wood elf warlock who is often the braincell of the party. Korodo the himbo black dragonborn who is kinda-sorta a hostage in the party because he keeps following them around despite them destroying his home. Daehise the tiefling bard who has to be the other braincell of the party. And Mori the ranger, who just sorta vibes in the woods with his hawk, Caelan (and yes I did name the hawk after my OC)
This campaign takes place in a world where war raged for centuries but has met relative peace. The party come together after being arrested and discover a strange orb that Starling had frantically stolen in a gambling game. They are currently travelling to try and discover more about this orb.
For extra context, I added furbies to the game thinking they’d be sweet little companions. I will not speak of the horrors that occurred, only that Greg ate one.
11.2.22  - You tracked down the Furby cave and managed to climb up the cliff to get inside - You retrieved four Furby eggs, handfuls of metal objects such as cutlery, boot buckles, buttons etc. Daehise collected 15 silver, and Theodos collected five keys. - Greg set fire to the cave and you all made it out, with a scare from Mori - A teenage bandit attempted to rob you, but you instead captured him and forced him to take you to his party after he revealed that they were the ones who attempted to sacrifice Mori to the Furbies. - You track down the party by the road you were travelling on, using your forgotten supplies as their own. Theodos and Greg cross the path, and Theodos tosses Greg into the camp to catch them off guard. This fails. - The fight begins. Greg obtains a stab in the right side and a burn on the left before running away. - Daehise verbally abuses a heavily armed man while Starling breaks the Geneva convention and mentally tortures a man wielding a poker by [REDACTED LMAO] - Theodos is shot straight through the chest and almost dies, but is healed. - Mori and the enemy archer fire the same arrow at each other over and over again when they fail to shoot each other. - Greg throws his shoe, but misses and loses his shoe. - The battle ends with the teenager (who was in the party against his will) killing the mentally tortured man for killing his dog and treating him like dirt. - You all gained 100xp. - The DM needed therapy.

So, this is... uh... a bit complex and extremely specific but..
If the Adv/02 kids had RPG/MMO weapons/jobs, which each of them would have/be? (... Yes, DR ch2 hype made me think about it again)
Well, this is just me going on a complete lark, so enjoy my very self-indulgent headcanons, haha.
Taichi: Well, the usual swordfighter, of course. I have a feeling he himself would go for it; conventional, well-rounded, easy to figure out.
Yamato: There's usually a kind of "also conventionally combat-oriented but also slightly off the beaten path" sort of class, like a lance wielder (fitting for Yamato's position as the series "lancer") or a brawler (you know, Yamato's really into those fisticuffs...).
Sora: The archer type, because she wants to join in but probably is not a huge fan of getting up close. Alternatively, in Fire Emblem terms, maybe one of the pegasus or wyvern riders.
Koushirou: Probably an alchemist or apothecary type (it requires a bit more finesse than the usual mage classes).
Mimi: Bard/music class, and I'm not just saying this because of her singing skills; it's because Mimi is the one who absolutely dislikes fighting the most and would vastly prefer to take a support role by any means necessary. So she'll specialize in buffs/debuffs instead.
Jou: Medic. Well, of course. His specialty is coming in at the right time when people are in greatest need, after all.
Takeru: I think one of those "paladins" who specializes in holy magic that are super effective against dark forces, but also tends to be a bit overspecialized as a result.
Hikari: Tempting as it is to make her a pure healer, I think personality-wise she's actually the kind of person who's still much more willing to engage in combat than Jou would, so she wouldn't go for something too specialized. I imagine her something more as along the line of the cleric kind of archetype, where she does have offensive abilities even if they're somewhat on the specialized end. (That said, she probably serves as the closest thing the 02 group has to a dedicated healer.) Alternatively, she may make a great summoner archetype, but technically speaking, the summon is really just Tailmon, so that’s not all that interesting...
Daisuke: Daisuke's the protagonist in front and it's tempting to make him the sword archetype, but I think he'd actually be into the mage class because he likes giant dramatic explosions. (Better hope whatever game he's in doesn't require large cast or cooldown time, though; that'll drive him nuts.)
Miyako: On the contrary, Miyako is the one who probably would like to bash people in with weapons. To make things even more dramatic, give her a giant axe or something.
Iori: Martial artist, similar to why he does kendo: discipline, focus, and proper training.
Ken: The assassin/thief/ninja/rogue "stealth and off the beaten path" archetype. It's a bit ironic since Ken himself is actually the Lawful type, but there's a reason the Stingmon line tends to favor the assassin archetype: as far as actual combat goes, he doesn't cut corners in the slightest.

Robin Hood and His Merry Band
list of characters for an original series I’m working on
Alan-a-Dale - the gloomy and cynical bard, the grumpy voice of reason who doesn’t give a fuck, wonders why he hangs out with these crazies, knows it’s cause they’re family to him but won’t admit it out loud, besties with Friar Tuck even though they never agree on anything, is clearly a bi disaster
The Archdeacon of Canterbury - The aging head cleric of the church of England. He supports King Richard but is becoming increasingly impotent because of his failing health. Still holds a lot of political power because of his title though.
The Azure Assassin - A deadly mercenary and rival to Robin Hood. Orphaned at a young age Azure had to steal to survive. She stowed away on a pirate ship at the age of ten and has spent the pass eight years studying fighting techniques the world over. They call her the Azure Assassin because her blue eyes are the last thing you’ll see before dying. She’s gained a modest fortune and fame as a spy and assassin, however she can never stay in one play too long due to her reputation getting out. Prince John has offered her a pardon and a place in high society if she brings in Robin Hood’s head. Shame she’s fallen in love with his brother Will Scarlet, as that complicates matters.
The Bishop of Hereford - Conservative asshole who supports Prince John’s rule and shares his beliefs on ‘bringing order to the kingdom’. Wants to usurp the Archdeacon as the head of the church. Is Friar Tuck’s and Sister Clara’s arch nemesis.
Dame Brianna DuBois - Also known as the The Black Knight, DuBois is loyal to the throne of England and whoever sits upon it. She’s Prince John’s personal bodyguard and unbeknownst to all a double agent for King Richard who is in hiding. However she is conflicted when her duty places her lover Yua in jeopardy. Yes, she’s totally a butch lesbian.
The Duke of Essex - Prince John’s adviser and right hand man. He only cares for power for power’s sake but is sneaky and conniving and willing to play the long game to get it. He prefers poison to swords, but is surprisingly good at hand to hand combat when cornered. Has a pet snake. It’s the only living thing that he loves.
Elenore of England - Prince John and King Richard’s sister and Maid Marian’s mother. She died when negotiations during a worker dispute turned violent. Unable to quell the people’s rage, she was stuck down during a riot. Richard, blaming himself for losing his temper and causing things to escalate has since tried to follow in her footsteps and become peacemaker. Prince John went the opposite route and blamed the ungrateful peasants (criminals in his mind) and resented Richard for even bothering to negotiating in the first place.
Friar Tuck - The jovial and optimistic heart of the team. He tries to keep everyone’s spirits up and believes that helping people is the ultimate expression of god’s love. Is a hopeless romantic and also very, very gay. He butts heads with more traditional leaders of the church often. He also has a not so secret crush on his best friend Alan.
Guy of Gisbourne - From pauper to nobleman, Guy is Robin’s opposite in everyway. He crawled up from the bottom rung by using and stepping on others and he’s always looking for the opportunity to climb the ranks. Don’t let his foppish ways fool you though, he is both a cunning and ruthless foe and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. His latest scheme however is to marry Maid Maiden and become next in line for the throne as Prince John has no other heirs save his ward.
King Richard - Good Richard the Lionhearted is no longer a bloodthirsty crusader in this alternate universe but a peacemaker. He wishes to end wars, not start them, however his more abrasive, uncouth, and impulsive nature can often clash with his loftier goals. Many feel the king would do better to stay at home and tend to domestic matters instead of concerning himself with the conflicts of other far off lands. At the start of the story he has disappeared on one of his diplomatic visits. In reality Prince John has stuck a deal with the king’s enemies and he is currently on the run.
Lady Tiffany - Little John’s little wife and the daughter of the Sherriff of Nottingham. She acts as the gang’s ‘man on the inside’ helping Robin Hood sneak in and out of places and feeding the team needed information. She’s stubborn and spoiled but also very kind hearted. She usually can get her father to give into her demands with just a pout and when that doesn’t work a full on tantum will do. She a woman who knows what she wants and what she wants is her man. Unfortunately daddy dreariest would never approve of their union and so Friar Tuck marries them in secret.
Little John - Robin’s best friend and right hand man. He’s a simple man who loves life’s simple pleasures, good food, good friends, and a good brawl from time to time. He adores his partner, Tiffany and would like nothing more than to marry her for real, in a real church, in front of the whole world. However their relationship must remained hidden from her father, the Sheriff, since the violent lawman would sooner see him hanged then have a thief for a son-in-law.
Lord Locksley - Robin’s and Will’s father. He is arrested for ‘not paying taxes’ but in reality it’s for supporting King Richard and secretly helping the displaced monarch. His arrest leads to Robin and Will becoming outlaws and the series kicks off two years later.
Maid Marian - Prince Johns ward and niece. Her mother died when she was young and her beloved uncle adopted her. Prince John is the only parent she’s ever known and she at first believes him to be a kind and just man. She’s completely oblivious of Prince’s John’s underhanded dealings and oppression of the poor and at first is skeptical of Robin Hood. However as the two grow closer, Marian learns how harsh the real world is and just how much her father figure has lied to her.
Miss Yua - Maid Marian’s lady-in-waiting and best friend. She’s the daughter of Sir Ivanhoe and longs to be a knight as well. She’s a stickler for rules and doesn’t trust Robin Hood and his gang of thieves. At first anyways, over time she too learns of Prince John’s cruelty and even becomes a victim of the tyrant’s schemes. Which puts her in direct conflict with her love, Brianna DuBois.
Much the Miller's Son - born as Midge the miller’s daughter, the young Much longs to be accepted as a boy. As such he’s ditched his dresses, cut his hair, and ran away to Sherwood Forrest in order to be free from society’s expectations. The rest of the merry band accepts Much for who he really is, but at only 13 won’t let him join their gang. He still winds up caught up in their misadventures anyways due to his refusal to listen to anybody, and his determination to get away from his overbearing mother.
Nurse Agnes - Maid Marian’s wet nurse and the closest thing to a mother that she has. Agnes believes in the ‘old ways’ and is very superstitious. She’s also very critical of royalty in general, but is smart enough not to say so out loud. She’s tried to raise Marian into a better person than Prince John, but eventually was dismissed once Marian had come of age. Since leaving the court Agnes has become the witch of the woods and a healer for the poor.
Prince John - The main antagonist. Prince John believes that he needs to bring order to the kingdom of England and feels like his brother King Richard has neglected his duties as ruler and placed the kingdom in danger. He'll do whatever it takes to protect the country including subjecting it’s undesirables.
Robin Hood - Leader of the Merry Band and archer extraordinaire, Robin Hood had to go on the lam when his father was arrest for ‘treason’. While his first priority was to keep his baby brother, Will, safe, the two of them met other outcasts in need over the years have built up an underwound network of rebels who fight against Prince John’s rule. Seemingly suave and cool at first, Robin is actually a bundle of nerves as he tries desperately to keep his friends and family safe...even if it’s mostly from themselves. His world is turned upside down though when he meets the lovely Maid Marian.
Sheriff of Nottingham - The spiteful and cruel sheriff tries to keep the small town of Nottingham under his thumb. He hates Robin Hood and his Merry Band with a passion and sees their continued exitance as a personal insult. The only thing that will deter him from his goal of putting those outlaws in their place is his devotion to his beloved daughters Tiffany. Who distracts him with her seemingly impulsive and shallow whims.
Sir Ivanhoe - A respected knight who once served under King Richard has returned home only to find that his king has not made the journey back as planned. He suspects that Prince John is up to no good, but is afraid to make any risky moves so long as his daughter Yua lives among the court. Her safety is the most important thing in the world to him.
Sister Clara - The resident nerd of Sherwood Forrest and the brains of the team. Clara had joined a convent in order to receive an education and to study science, however her experiments were frowned upon by more traditional leaders of the church, like the Bishop of Hereford. She’s since renounced her monastic vows and has joined Robin Hood’s Merry Band in the pursuit of science! She’s allowed free rein on the sole condition that she doesn’t blow up the camp.  She still manages to blow up the camp, at least once a month. Still her inventions are invaluable to the team and she’s absolutely feral with her chim-bombs.
The Trapper - A mysterious hermit who sometimes visits the local pub. He’ll often corner patrons with crazy drunken ramblings and loves to give Robin cryptic prophecies and disjoined ‘clues’ whenever they run into each other. (turns out this is an act and he’s really a spy for King Richard)
Will Scarlett - Robin’s younger brother. Will was 15 when they lost their father and now at 17 wants revenge. He’s a hothead and is constantly picking fights with everyone and anyone. While he is dismissive of Robin’s overprotectiveness, he both loves and admires his brother. Even tries to emulate him in some ways. He also would like to think of himself as a smooth talking clever con artist and ladies man but more often then not his temper gets the better of him. Like most teens he’s obsessed with the latest fashion tends and loves to wear fancy clothes (that he’s usually stolen) He’s favorite article of clothing is his impractical red feathered hat. He’s in love with Azure and is best friends with Much.

Orpheum's Tales: Music of the Night
[featuring the Shaymin crew from @shaymincafe ]
A morning breeze sweeps along the quiet forest of Floarama Town, Orpehum's usual abode when he is alone by himself. After all, the town was special to him, a second home. This town is where his constellation appears first every night.
The bard plucked a few strings from his lute, a morning routine he so regularly performed. A good note would be a blessed day but a bad one would be a tragedy … an omen even. Fortunately, the Victini deity would smile upon him as the lute produced a perfect note.
He sighed a breath of fresh air, relief overcoming him as the day would proceed as normal, for him at the least. Donning his trusty bard hat, off he went to meet someone, another Shaymin as he was taking flight towards the rendezvous.
The gentle breeze made the journey quite refreshing, after all … no one would knowingly dwell into turbulent weather, especially a deity like him. As he took flight, he was in the form of a wisp, vibrant green with wings similar to a Yanma for he wouldn't just reveal himself to mortals just like that.
Moments passed before he could finally see the rendezvous from afar, vaguely sensing someone waving towards him. Realizing it was a familiar face, he immediately went in and landed in front of her, giving her a bow as soon as he returned to his Shaymin form.
"Orpheum! Glad you could make it!" A Shaymin in a vibrant pink hue gleefully greeted the bard with a smile.
"Good morning, Rosemary. I too am glad to be here." He nodded to himself, his face a vibrant glee, and looking around the place. "So this is your ... what was the word … Cafè? Sorry, I have been too accustomed to the word tavern."
"Yes, it is! Shaymin Cafè~ not the most subtle name we can think of but it does attract quite the crowd." She giggles and motions for him to follow her. "Come! Let's introduce you to the others"
"Right now, you say?" He looked a bit nervous, his audience usually consisted of only one but to a few 'mon of his kind? He isn't used to that kind of stage but he internally reigned in his thoughts and smiled. "Sure! I am excited."
~~~
The doors to the cafè opened, immediately getting the attention of everyone inside. Rosemary was the one to enter with Orpheum following close behind, his lute perched on his back as an archer would their quiver. There was silence as the rest of the Shaymin staff immediately averted their attention towards Orpheum.
"Everyone, meet Orpheum! Better give him a warm welcome because he is a special Shaymin~" Rosemary broke the silence as she winked at them and gave him an introductory pat on the back.
"Greetings! Greetings!" He gave them a bow and a huge grin trying not to break the otherwise momentum that Rosemary had set. "Orpheum the Blossoming Bard, at your service!"
One of the Shaymin finally took interest, narrowing her eyes as she approached Orpheum. She circled around the bard as if to do a thorough inspection. "A bard, aye? … sing a song for us why don't cha." Shiso, the purple one, commanded as she crossed her arms and looked at him intently.
"A song? Yes yes of course! I actually have a short one I made en route here … it's supposed to be about this cafe." Orpheum's ears perked up, immediately getting his lute and clearing his throat a bit. "I hope all of you enjoy~!"
"Go ahead. We'd love to hear it!" Rosemary smiles, eagerly waiting to play his song as the rest of the staff.
"Okay here goes …" He plucked a few notes and began to slowly gain momentum as he started to sing the piece he created.
Come one, come all!
There is a place for all!
Come one, come all!
Everyone is welcome, big or small!
Smiles, smiles are all abound~!
With happy thoughts all around!
We are always ready to serve you.
For we treat you as family too!
Come one, come all! The cafè is open!
A place to bring family or a friend!
Come one, come all! It's a party!
When you join us at the Shaymin Cafè!
He gave a bow after he sang as he always did with every performance he made. Just before he did, he can already hear applause from the group, one even cheering gleefully.
"Woooh! Great song, dude!" Chicory, the blue one blurted out, eagerly waiting to request an encore.
"Impressive. Looks like you're an a-okay then." Shiso shrugs smirking as she hugged Pumpkin, the orange one next to her, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Pumpkin here seems to like it too." She looks over at Pumpkin with a nod of approval.
"Simply wonderful, Orpheum! Bravo!" Rosemary cheered gleefully, enjoying the performance wholeheartedly like the rest of the staff.
"Thanks, everyone! My heart is filled with joy knowing all of you enjoyed my song." He says, visibly blushing at his newfound audience. "It isn't new that I get applause but it always is overwhelming for me."
Rosemary stood up from her seat, looking like she was about to say something important. "Alright, everyone! Cafè is opening in half an hour, be sure to make this ready for the customers like you always do!"
The staff immediately started tidying up the cafè, with Rosemary on her way to put the specials on display outside and putting the open sign but not before she looked back at Orpheum with a reassuring smile.
"Welcome to the Shaymin Cafè"
He smiled for a bit while looking a bit conflicted on something as if pondering upon a certain thought that's been on his mind. He followed Rosemary and called out to her. "Rosemary!"
The pink Shaymin immediately turned to face him, looking confused at his sudden urgency and wanting to know what was up. "Yes, Orpheum? You need anything?"
"I was just thinking if I can take a stroll for a moment? Perhaps, more than a few moments to be precise?"
"Sure but … is everything alright? You maybe need some tea to help calm yourself down?"
"No no, please save it for your patrons. I may need some time for myself, worry not … I'll be back before you know it~" He gave her a reassuring smile as a small gust of wind blew around him.
"Okay if you say so. Guess I'll see you around." With Rosemary's wave, Orpheum immediately turned into a wisp and rode along with the wind, letting it carry him towards someplace else.
~~~
It was now nightfall, as the cafè was still bustling with patrons but no sign of Orpheum anywhere. Admittedly, Rosemary was getting concerned for him but she kept that to herself while she worked the tables and managed the patrons like the rest of her staff.
"Psst hey, Rosemary. Where's that hotshot Shaymin you were talking about?" Vetle was there as always, raising an eyebrow as he asked Rosemary about the supposed 'guest' she was advertising just outside of the shop. "I'm just waiting here."
"He'll be here soon, Vetle. Don't you worry." Her smile was hiding that concern still bubbling inside of her as she silently scanned the room for at least a teal-colored wisp. "Just sit back and rela- huh?"
She felt a gentle breeze going through her fur as she turned around, trying to spot someone from the crowd of patrons in the various tables laid around but there was still no sign of Orpheum. She can only do nothing but hum her worries away only, why does it feel like her hums had a rhythm to them? As if there was something or someone playing?
It seemed like she wasn't the only one that would notice it as a small crowd would soon form as almost everyone was turning their heads toward what seemed like someone plucking the strings of a lute effortlessly. Rosemary went towards the crowd of patrons and staff alike to see what was going and that's when she saw them.
A stranger was there playing a teal-colored lute with black-gloved paws as the crowd watched on in awe, daring not to say anything during the performance. They wore a black Venetian mask that covered the upper part of their face, while their body was adorned in a turquoise long coat laced with lacey green accents along with teal pants and black boots.
The stranger was just sitting by themselves on one of the tables and somehow inconspicuously slipped out of sight and started playing as if to make a dynamic entrance of sorts. Either that or the people were too busy minding their business to notice a well-dressed musician enter the shop and take a seat.
After a while, the stranger seemed to stop playing presumably because they were done with their tune and had a mysterious smile as he got up from his seat and bowed to the newly formed audience.
"Greetings, greetings! I am Favonius, Bard of the Blossoms! I'm sure you have been waiting for more than a moment for me but now … I shall now begin~"
It took a few seconds for Rosemary to realize what she should be doing but she immediately got up to the front of the store and called the attention of the patrons.
"Yes! Please settle down, everyone, and sit tight. Service will still continue while the performance is going on. Hope you all enjoy~"
Immediately as everyone did settle into their seats, all eyes were on Favonius as a mix of expressions gathered within the audience. Most were of course intrigued by his presence after all, if that initial introduction was what's to come what more could he show for a full performance? Favonius smiled as soon as they were now eagerly waiting for him in silence and with a single strum of his lute, he now started to a tune to which he would sing.
Lucete, Lucete Stellae …~
Our hearts flutter each night and day.
Lucete, Lucete Stellae …~
Beckoning to us the hallowed way.
When the night is cold and barren still,
With dark hearts of ill will.
Something within us will start to burn,
Igniting for what we really yearn.
We have triumphed, every one of us,
Our trials never left us in the dust.
Our stories, written in our memory,
As it was always meant to be.
Bless the light, as the torch ignites,
To our journeys and fights.
From within our grasp to far off lands,
Making every victory grand.
Even when fear looms and doubts arise,
Triumph comes at a well-fought price.
Even when we ourselves have faltered,
Sacrifices will be honored.
Lucete, Lucete Stellae …~
May the light bring us the way.
Lucete, Lucete Stellae …~
To brave the night and seize the day.
The room filled with praise from the audience as Favonius made a solemn bow, holding his hat to his side right after strumming the last tune to his song. He definitely felt satisfied knowing he would make everyone's night.
"Thank you, my fabled patrons. Thank you! I hope you all enjoyed the show for tonight but for now, farewell and have a good night."
Favonius immediately exited the stage and disappeared into the cafè exit giving everyone a swift wave and flew off towards somewhere else. A few patrons were able to witness Favonius exit but all they saw outside was a wisp that sort of disappeared into the wind.
~~~
Soon enough it was time for the cafè to close while the patrons were still talking about the performance earlier on their way out the exit. Rosemary and the other Shaymins were just cleaning up after such an eventful night as they too were talking about the performance but more importantly, Favonius themselves.
"Man, that thing earlier was pretty unexpected! Even my boyfriend agreed it felt almost like a dream …" Chicory exclaimed while he was sweeping the floors looking towards Vetle, a teal-colored Shaymin leaning against a wall. "But still, that was pretty cool! How did you even contact them, Rosemary?"
Rosemary was just as confused as Chicory when she was asked that, she was by herself and looking towards the windows when she was snapped out of her pondering. "Huh? Oh … you know, I have some connections." Rosemary smiled nervously knowing that she had no idea where he came from.
"Hmm …? You don't look so sure … was he just a stranger? Because it's not usual for you to just invite someone willy-nilly like that …" Chicory raised his eyebrow, stopping what he was doing as he was really eager to know.
"Umm you see … I …" Just as she was about to say something, a gust of wind blew into the inside of the cafè, the very same gust of wind that alerted them to a familiar presence but no tune was to be heard. This time, there came a knock on the cafè door followed by a greeting.
"Greetings, fellow Shaymins. May I come in? I hope I am not interrupting closing hours …"
"Not at all, Favonius. Please come in!" Rosemary breathed a sigh of relief, finally able to at least ask them about what happened, and crossed her arms. “Take a seat … you have some explaining to do.”
“Ohh … my apologies for the commotion earlier, madam~” He bows his head and removes his mask revealing who was behind it all this time. “I … tend to be nervous in front of a large crowd.”
“O-Orpheum!?! All this time, you were Favonius? Wh-why didn’t you told me …?” Rosemary was utterly shocked at the revelation, so was Chicory and the rest of the Shaymin present. “Wh-why did have to hide like that ...? Explain yourself.”
“W-well you see, I’m not really adept at showing my face to a large audience … and your establishment attracts such a crowd. I’m afraid I must don an outfit to appear mysterious. Otherwise, they will eventually know that I’m a deity…” Orpheum stammered in his words, really hoping that his act wasn’t a grievous fault.
“Wait am I hearing this correct? You’re a god!?!” Chicory was barely listening to Orpheum’s whole explanation and instead focused on the part where he mentioned he was a deity. “Are you kidding me!?!”
Chicory’s excitableness did make Orpheum at least for at least a little bit as he smiled. “Yes, I’m a deity. Perhaps it is time to let all of you know. Rosemary was the only one who knew.” He looked over at Rosemary as she gave him a reassuring okay gesture. “But if I did show my true face to a large crowd, there would be consequences. I hope all of you understand why I did that earlier …”
Rosemary would then put a hand on his shoulder and smile. “Of course it’s fine! Let’s just let be our little secret. Right, guys? Especially you, Vetle. Don’t you go around and spill the beans.”
“Yes! Me and my boyfriend here are 100% in it for this little secret! Right, Vetle?” Chicory piped in as Vetle gave a shrug, presumably as a way of approval. “Yeah yeah, whatever. I won’t tell if it means I get the front row seats.” Vetle added with a smirk on his face.
“Me and my girlfriend also agree. Your secret’s safe with us.” Pumpkin also added to the conversation as Shiso gave a nod. “Don’t you worry a thing.”
“See, Orpheum? You’ll be just fine. After all, Shaymin’s gotta stick together.” Rosemary then smiled, Orpheum shedding a tear and let out a sigh of relief.
“Thanks, everyone … truly this has been an eventful day. But I am grateful for every one of your understanding. But alas, I must take my leave for now. Have a good night. It has been a pleasure meeting all of you.” With that, the Shaymin bard exited the café but not without giving a wave from his hat and letting the wind carry him back towards the forest.
High Fantasy Setting with Hornblower Cast Members. (And one self insert and an OC) -Character sheets of a sort- PART 1
It all started MONTHS ago with me watching Ioan Gruffudd as Lancelot. Then, re-visiting a song called “Warrior” by the Phantoms while walking to work. Then a flood of images in my head of Jamie Bamber in rogue attire, Paul Copley as an archer, Paul McGann casting spells, and most vividly, Sean Gilder as a shapeshifting GIANT wolf going berserk on orcs.
Do I have actual chapters of adventures for this group? of course not, I have too many drabbles and snippets I already wish to write ARGH! Somewhere I have a google doc with some random interactions though.
But after sharing this with my dear @ariel-seagull-wings we did have a lot of fun imagining little scenes and dialogue. And created origin stories for some of the characters! Even OCs! A healer witch named Amalthea to pair with Gilder the Wolf Shapeshifter, and Lira, a bard coupled with Copley!
I don’t want to overwhelm people with too many big images, so I’ll separate these out and title them by parts, linking back to each previous one.
I named the characters all using the actor’s last names. Frankly it was easier and each last name, with the exception of McGann, sounded like names in a fantasy tale. XD
I’m rambling now.
Here’s Part 1 : Gruffudd and Bamber, becoming a couple thanks to the suggestion of @ariel-seagull-wings !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I do have their love confession dialogue scripted!!
WOOHOOO!
---------------------------------------------
One night at the fire, Bamber sits next to Gruffudd. Bamber quietly comments that Amalthea should tell Gilder how she feels. Gruffudd comments that it isn't that easy, because she’s afraid of rejection from Gilder not feeling the same way. Bamber nods thoughtfully, knowing that fear too well. Bamber shyly asks if Gruffudd has ever wanted to tell someone how he felt but couldn't. Gruffudd says yes softly, staring into the flames. Bamber says he has the same problem, staring into the flames also. There's a silence, until Bamber asks Gruffudd what he would say, if he could, to that person he loved.
Gruffudd: *wonders where this might go but decides to play along*  I would tell him how much I love his laughter, and cheekiness.
Bamber realizes Gruffudd said ‘he’ his heart skips.
Gruffudd quietly continues, feeling as though this might be the only way he can confess to Bamber his love.
Gruffudd:*quietly continues* his bright and confident smile when he’s beaten an enemy, makes my heart beat faster. And how his eyes burn...like sapphires when happy…
Gruffudd goes quiet now, unsure what else to say or do.
Bamber decides to take the chance and talk about the man he loves, with a pounding heart.
Bamber:*smiles softly* I love his laughter too. And how he moves when he fights. It...makes my heart pound. And… I always seem to get lost in his dark brown eyes…
Gruffudd and Bamber look at each other at that moment. And both are now smiling, seeing in the other’s eyes the love for the other.
Bamber: *giggles softly* well… I’m afraid that was the best I could manage at a confession of love!
Gruffudd: *chuckles warmly* Same here.
Bamber: *looks at Gruffudd’s lips and then back into his eyes* Well? Aren’t you going to kiss me now, Gruffudd?
Gruffudd: *smiles lovingly at Bamber and cups his cheek* Yes, Bamber.
Personal Beliefs:
Severia was raised to believe in Azim and Nhaama and in particular always felt a connection to the Dusk Mother. This feeling has been somewhat shaken with the revelation of the probable origins of Azim and the nature of the Twelve. She still believes there are things in the universe beyond her understanding, but she wants to learn the truth instead of being content to remain in ignorance.
Hopes/Dreams:
Severia has a hard time thinking in terms of hopes and dreams for the future. Her life has always been one of day to day survival. Sometimes though she has vague daydreams about there being an end to all the strife, to the world’s need of her and being able to travel freely with the man she loves, to see everything in the world, and never have to say goodbye to him again.
Fears:
Severia’s life has been ruled by fears for as long as she can remember. The fear of not being good enough and failing those she cares about. The fear of being abandoned for her insufficiency. The fear of losing the people she cares about. The fear of getting close enough to people to let them leave her hurt and alone.
Stress Response:
Severia is the type of person who needs to have frequent alone time somewhere quiet and peaceful. When her stress levels get too high, she’s likely to just disappear and seek out someplace to be alone, especially at night when she can gain comfort from the stars and moon.
How they would describe themselves:
Average, boring, and inadequate. Just barely managing to keep up with the other amazing people around her.
How others would describe them:
Dependable, clear headed, open minded, good at seeing through problems and making the right decisions. Strong in battle and in spirit, a light in the darkness.
~~STORY~~
Backstory:
She was born within the Tumet tribe of the Azim Steppe. As such, she was not given a true name when she was born, but is called by a name meant to ward off evil spirits and bad luck until such a time as she can complete her trial to become a named member of the tribe. This “avoidance name” was Khünbish, meaning “not a human being”.
 At the age of 10 she went through her tribe’s ritual of being tied to the sacred tree. Children who could free themselves and catch up with the tribe on the move would be given a name and become a member of the tribe. Severia was a small and weak child and was not even able to free herself from her bonds. She remained tied to the tree for three days before a man named Ayanga Mol passed by and found her, nearly dead.
 Even though it is taboo to aid a Tumet child during their trial, he freed her and nursed her back to health. Knowing that there was no chance that the child could return to her family and that he would be ostracized for rescuing her, Ayanga took her and left the Steppe for Yanxia. For the next 10 years they lived as traveling merchants, earning just enough to survive. Shortly after Severia turns 20, Ayanga is discovered by the occupying Garleans to be a spy who has been passing information between pockets of resistance fighters. He is arrested and executed. His last wish is that Severia escape to some place where she can live a life of peace.
 Severia flees to Kugane and ultimately stows away on a ship bound for Eorzea. It is at this point in her life when she finally decides it is time she choose a name for herself. Severia is a name she makes up based on sounds she likes. Zetsuen she takes as a name that signifies something that has been cast adrift by fate. She uses this name when she arrives in Eorzea.
Severia lands in Vesper Bay in Thanalan with nothing but the clothes on her back and her beloved but battered shamisen. Not knowing the language at all, she goes through a very trying period where she busks on street corners to earn just enough to not starve and to slowly travel the land. But she has a good ear for language and gradually manages to pick up the Common tongue. Hearing people talking about a huge forest realm in the north, Severia slowly makes her way to the Shroud and Gridania. Looking lost and bedraggled from her travels, Mother Miounne takes Severia under her wing and advises her to join the Adventurer’s Guild and to take up a combat skill for survival. Severia feels drawn to archery. And thus she finally sets out on the path to become the Warrior of Light.
~Highlights of ARR~ (Age 21-24)
Severia’s story follows the MSQ very closely for the most part, though I headcanon that the timeline from first becoming an adventurer to her triumph over the Garleans lasts about 3 years.
The most important events in her development:
Gaining the Echo.
Meeting Minfilia. Minfilia provides Severia with a sense of purpose she is sorely lacking at the time.
Meeting Nero at the Crystal Tower and falling for him.
~Highlights of HW~ (Age 25)
Loss of many important allies/friends has cumulative effect on her mentally and emotionally.
Growing closer to Thancred due to their mutual grief for Minfilia.
Nero returns, they promise to see each other again.
~Highlights of StB~ (Age 26-27)
Return to Othard.
Becoming involved with the Doman Resistance like her foster father was.
Return to the Steppe. Adopted by the Mol tribe and given Xaela name, Sarangerel.
Taking up Red Mage
Growing closer to Nero during Omega.
~Highlights of ShB~ (Age 27-28)
Discovering truth about Ancients/Amaurot. Feels drawn to past.
Meeting Hythlodaeus. Loves him (platonically) immediately.
Learning about Azem. Feeling insecure about identity.
Confronting Elidibus. Feeling immense empathy for him.
~Feelings about Scions~
Severia met the Scions at a time in her life where her growing powers were alarming her and meeting Minfilia was a very positive experience for her. She had great love and admiration for Minfilia, but found the Scions as a whole more than a little intimidating. As someone without an education, she didn’t really think she fit in among them. Though losing Minfilia was devastating to her, it was what ultimately led to her growing closer to her fellow Scions. In particular, sharing her fate as a fugitive with Alphinaud and Tataru in Ishgard and bonding with Thancred over their shared grief. Over time, she has come to feel the Scions are almost like family (her experiences with family are not great) but she will probably always be more than a little intimidated by Y’shtola.
~Feelings about Alliance Leaders/Grand Companies~
Severia maintains a professional relationship with all the leaders. She prefers to stay out of the spotlight and leave others (Alphinaud) to deal with diplomacy and politics. While she initially joined the Maelstrom, she never returned to their ranks after her exoneration for the attempted murder of the Sultana, finding it a convenient time to cut off her ties to organizations she never really felt comfortable in.
~Feelings about Garleans~
Severia grew up experiencing the Garlean occupation in Yanxia and was terrified of Garlean soldiers for a long time. Meeting Cid and befriending him was a big turning point for her as it made Garleans seem less like boogeymen and more like real people. Garlean society may be fundamentally flawed, but what society is not? She sees the Garleans people more as victims of Ascian machinations than as enemies at this point. (Though she spares no mercy for Zenos.) In fact, since falling in love with a Garlean, she hopes someday to be able to explore and get to know the region and its people much better.
~Feelings about Ascians, Ancients and Azem~
Since learning the truth behind the Ascians, Severia has developed complicated feelings regarding them. She understands their motivations and has respect for their loss and grief even if she cannot condone what they have done because of it. But she also recognizes that they were under the influence of Zodiark and their will was inhibited. Mostly, she wishes there had been some other answer. Some kind of compromise that could have been reached between the Ascians and the people of today. But there was nothing else that she could have done in the circumstances she was faced with.
She mourns Hades, Hythlodaeus and Elidibus, those she came to know best from her travels in the past. But feels content that they are at peace in the Lifestream. Her biggest regret is that she was forced to stand by and could do nothing to save Hermes. Having known the depths of despair herself, she feels a sense of kinship with him.
When she first became aware of her former life as Azem, it threw her into a state of confusion and distress. She began to wonder if she only became what she is because of Azem, if her life is ruled by that soul and her fate determined. When it became clear that it was always her own choices and actions that mattered most, she was finally able to find the strength to be the beacon of hope that the world needed. The thought of Azem no longer distresses her, but she also prefers to let Azem remain in the past.
~Feelings about Hydaelyn and Zodiark~
Severia never placed much faith in Hydaelyn. Her trust was grounded more on Minfilia. She would fight for anything Minfilia considered worthy. When she finally meets Venat, it’s like finally being able to talk to Minfilia again. But it’s very bittersweet because she already knows how this is going to go. And yet even so her experiences with Venat in Elpis reassure her about the path she is on, and take away her anxiety about being Azem. She was not Hydaelyn’s chosen because she was once Azem. She was Hydaelyn’s chosen because she was Venat’s friend.
Zodiark remains a mysterious being that she wishes she could learn more about. There were so many unanswered questions she had. But she firmly believes that both Zodiark and Hydaelyn were necessary to give the Star the future it now looks forward to.
~Feelings about Nero~
When they first met, her feelings toward him took her very much by surprise because though logically she should have despised him for his role in the Garlean invasion of Eorzea, she found herself feeling strangely attracted to him instead, quite against her will. She is even more surprised to realize he is attracted to her as well. Even though the world keeps tearing them apart she finds she cannot forget him. And when they meet again during Omega, she decides for once in her life to pursue something for the sake of her own happiness, despite logic and many, many friends telling her it’s a bad idea.
Severia and Nero became a couple just after the conclusion of the Omega quests. At the beginning of DT, they have been together for almost 3 years.
