so I remembered that when severus goes to apologize to lily in front of the gryffindor common room, she's not the one to answer the door. MARY answers the door, she asked him to leave but he said he'd spend the night right there if she didn't call lily. and i think it's very interesting that she did chose to call lily instead of just closing the door and leaving him there all night.

that originated a little hc in my head that Mary was the first friend lily made in hogwarts, and in their 1st and 2nd years, lily would drag Mary to hang out w her and severus. so sev and Mary were never THAT close, like they couldn't hold a conversation just the two of them, but they were friendly bc of their shared friendship with lily. right by the time they were starting to become proper friends, their situation fell apart bc Mary became more popular and lily started to feel the weight of house rivalry and started to hide their friendship more. but regardless, to me Mary always had a soft spot for severus and was the most understanding of lily and why she defended him sm

I haven’t seen any discourse you might be referring to but I really do live by the thing the wise and now gone Fluff said in relation to Louis and Harry being together “just because I haven’t been to or seen my favorite restaurant in awhile doesn’t mean I think it’s closed”

Aka I kinda just assume Harry and Louis are happily chugging along in their life together because I am of the belief they have a healthy, loving relationship and they are no longer at the point where they need to signal/showcase they are together as often as they have been 🤷🏼‍♀️

you can't give this man a sad backstory and understandable motivations and then make him an irredeemable unfixable evil!! LIKE THAT ISN'T HOW THAT WORKS!! THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!

you either make it so the powers of the book are taken from him and he's returned to normal (and must still face the consequences of his actions while realizing he fucked up genuinely) OR!! you make him a genuinely evil asshole from the very beginning. make him hoard all the wishes because hes ALREADY been using them to make himself more powerful. Reacting to the post I just reblogged because it gave me FEELINGS about the Beagles as a found family but I didn’t wanna go on a tangent on the post itself so here

The thing with Edelgard mothering the Black Eagles is that she had 8 older siblings babying her while growing up

Then she got 2 YOUNGER siblings and was determined to be the best big sister ever because she’s had all the good and bad examples with the 8 other

Then her siblings all died and for years, all she had was Hubert (3 years older and her retainer and canonically a big brother) until she got into Garreg Mach and met :

- 1 older girl who never had a family

- 1 girl her age who was abused into being in a constant state of panic attack

- 1 girl whose dad was killed in a conflict at the end of which the winner demanded the girl to be given to them so they could take her away from her land and family (feels familiar to Edelgard)

(also I was genuinely SHOCKED to find out that Petra is only 15 at the start of Three Houses. SHE’S THE YOUNGEST OF THE BLACK EAGLES. WHICH MEANS IN THREE HOPES SHE BECOMES QUEEN AT NOT EVEN 18 YEARS OLD. BABY. WHY.)

- 2 boys a year younger than her, 1 one being quite literally baby brother shaped, the other 1 being unable to take care of himself in a healthy way on his own

- and 1 obnoxious boy her age who kept demanding to compete with her to prove that he was stronger and better and his flowers were better too and his horse and he’s more lovable than her of course- (does that YELL obnoxious younger brother to anyone else or is it just me ?)

How was she supposed to NOT instantly add them to the family tree and be the older sister she always wanted to be ?
