The innocent touches trail down your lower back. You get lost in the gentle motions of his fingertips, dancing across your skin in swirls and shapes. All you hear is his heart beating, your cheek flush against his damp chest .

It’s so close but so out of reach. Intangible.

The faint thump lulls you into trance. Your brain can’t even process the sharp sounds of water hitting tile. Just Jungkook.

A quick swat brings you out of the clouds and back to reality.

You peep out a small moan, jolting forward from the impact. How humiliating.

“You like when I do that,” he hums, corners of his lips stretching into a smirk as he smooths his palms over your stinging perky cheeks. “When I have my way with you. Don’t you, baby?”

“You thought about me before we started hooking up?” You retort, voice taking on a teasing tone to hide the flutter in your chest. He wanted you too. The thought was comforting. Reassuring.

You close your eyes, expecting a sweet kiss from his soft plump pout.

It never comes.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” You pull away, giving him a clear view of your scowl, trying to look as menacing as possible.

“It’s not a bad thing…,” he coos, patronizingly. “Just the Bambi I know would never let a man tell her what to do.”

If he was trying to get a rise out of you, he was succeeding. Knowing exact what buttons to push to get you worked up, sexually and emotionally. It's a scary thought, that Jungkook could 'have his way' with you in any context.

Your blood was boiling, and not from the scorching hot streams falling out of the shower head.

“I don’t,” you argue. “And I always take what I want.”

“That’s not true,” Jungkook shakes his head, tutting his tongue at you. “Because you want me so bad and you haven’t done anything about it.”

•They start season four and Paul’s like, ‘there’s a vampire frat???? Where can I pledge?!

•They don’t have a good feeling about this Parker guy (really they just don’t like to watch her fuck human guys, but 🤷🏻‍♀️)

•They think Dingos Ate My Baby is really cool

•Marko and Paul think they should start a band too!

•Dwayne and David are like, we don’t play instruments?????

• “you guys ruin everything”😠 -Marko

•David’s like, ‘fine, we all sing you guys want to start a quartet? Is that what you want????’

•Paul thinks that sounds like a good time tbh

•But he senses David was being sarcastic…so they keep watching.

•SPIKE IS BACK???? Fuck. Yes.

•He’s got a new crazy vampire babe?? This guy is their hero

•Dwayne is like, I can’t believe Spike literally tried to kill Buffy but Parker’s the biggest villain of this episode

•They take another break after this episode, that last one was the vampire equivalent of a Saw movie

•They come back after their massacre break

•David’s like, this better be a Spike heavy episode

•Spike’s kinda in his ‘no bitches🥺’ era right now tho

•They skip Pangs. As they should.

•Next episode Willow casts a spell so that Buffy falls for Spike

Hyrule Warriors?

Since I did the regulars Hyrule warriors I’ll talk about Age of Calamity :) hope you don’t mind!

Ok, so, I understand why this game is so hated. Nintendo practically lied to us, marketing this as a prequel, which yeah, was a sucky thing to do. I don’t like that either. But…

Idk this game is weirdly special to me dhsksbsksbk. I 100% the game, dlc and all, and when you’re able to look past the fact that they lied to you, this game is pretty good! The fighting when you’re playing the right character is far more satisfying than Hw, and it’s a lot easier for me to play each battle. It was fun to 100%! I like Terrako, I like what they did with Rhoam, and yeah I’ve started to like Astor just a little bit. He’s my scrunkley loser. The introduction of Sooga was super cool and Kogha’s character was just, incredible. Plus they picked the PERFECT voice actor for him.

It’s really annoying how much it doesn’t follow botw tho. Like it’s connected, but not canonically. If I recall correctly, link pulled the master sword when he was 12? So what’s he doing here? Also they just… really tried to force Link and Zelda into the same proximity :/ I didn’t connect much to their relationship in botw but this game REALLY forced it huh. It’s annoying and it’s also disappointing how they didn’t explore Link’s family? Or anything about Link? Like great we have more stuff about Zelda but like, what about Link? Also why does Terrako follow him around when he’s obsessed with Zelda lol?

I also wish that they did more with the champions. Like giving them actual character arcs. I felt like they had so many ideas but such little time to actually explore any of it. Especially revali, who has the potential to being an extremely complex character. I also wish they did more with Sooga. He and Byrne kinda suffer in the same way to me :( I’m glad he’s at least playable in the dlc, but still.

But, I did love young robbie and Purah. The two scientists are so sexy it’s not even funny. And of course Impa is such a beloved omg I love her so much <333 tho she feels mega sidelined at the end :(

Also uh…. Why isn’t Astor playable? Unless I’m missing something but I’m very disappointed that Astor, the main villain, is not playable in this game? Pls if he is playable tell me cuz I wanna play as the crusty man.

Ok sorry I’m jumping all over the place but I did like calamity Ganon, he looked super cool. And harbinger Ganon also looked super cool. Like dang they went all out! And watching everyone fight at the castle was super dope :)

Now, even tho the gameplay is more fun and satisfying than Hw, it’s only more fun when you have the right character. Some of the characters in this game are painful to play as. The fairies, daruk, and Yunobo are ones that I hated playing as. They’re so painfully slow and it’s not fun :/

Idk this game has many good things and many bad things. But I like it a lot! It’s a good one!

obx s3 thoughts (obviously contains spoilers!)

this is just my opinion, please don’t come for me if u disagree :)

i was a bit disappointed with this season ngl, definitely my least favorite season of the series so far

action sequences were really good but i felt like a few episodes were just straight meaningless action scenes and that definitely felt unnecessary to me

cleo pope jj owners of the season <3

drew starkey can certainly pull off a buzzcut but man do i miss his sexy haircut from season 2 😭😭

WAY TOO MANY BIG JOHN SCENES oh my god look i get it, it’s a miracle the guy turned up alive and shit but i am not john b i do not give two shits about this rather mean looking man and i felt like he was on my screen more than the main cast

shoutout to his actor tho. he did a great job portraying him

i thought i would be a jiara shipper but i don’t like them together at all… i lowkey hate that the writers now literally paired kie with every guy of the pogues when that seems so out of character for her

saw a post about kie being lesbian and you know what? y e s. even though i think a love interest wouldn’t be necessary for her to begin with

i’m a jjpope girlie sorry their chemistry is just chef’s kiss but it’s never gonna happen bc according to the writers there’s not a single gay on that silly lil island

(it’s completely fine if you do ship them bc they did have chemistry in the previous seasons)

not the sarah x topper drama getting reused from last season… i love sarah but girl what the hell

speaking of topper i thought it was fun how they included him in the train heist

but the way sarah manipulated him and used him… i’m no fan of his at all but i did feel for him bc he pulled so much for her and she went straight back to john b 😭

my boy really said i’m gonna light this place up like a damn bonfire lmfao

anyway back to it

the main villains (ward and rafe) of the past two seasons became pretty much irrelevant this season?? huh???

rafe did a near complete 180 out of nowhere… which was strange

like this man’s whole trauma was solely fixed on getting love and respect from his father and the whole donating the cross situation really sucked if you look at it from rafe’s perspective but i do not believe that THAT was all it took to suddenly become so hostile towards ward. even if he still ended up saving him.

this guy was so stuck in the cycle of violence from the pilot up to the final episode of season 2 and his character development was so interesting to see (that scene in s2 when he says he’s not okay and needs help and ward tells him to man up still stuck with me) and it feels like they threw it out of the window and pretty much sidelined his character for no reason at all.

new boring villain is introduced and gets killed in the same season

worst parent award goes to mike and anna

I WANT TO SEE MORE OF JJ AND SARAH WORKING TOGETHER OR JUST INTERACTING PLEASE

they’re such a fun dynamic like give me that please i’ve been asking for this before s2 even came out

the pogues had pretty much 2 scenes together and that’s it… i had hoped to see more of them and their dynamics and just more of them on that deserted island??? wasted potential oh my god

is it just me or was the filming style a lil different this season…

wasn’t rafe’s love interest supposed to be a bigger thing? because the few scenes he shared with her were completely irrelevant and so was her entire character tbh 😭

rafe and kie teaming up… was awesome i loved it

jj and kie running into pope and cleo when they were just about to get off the bus and immediately had to run from people with big ass guns is peak obx energy and i thought it was hilarious

i audibly gasped at the time jump!! such a weird way to end the season, it almost seemed like a series finale but knowing that season 4 is already confirmed i’m genuinely wondering what direction they’re gonna take this. the root of it all was that they were looking for the treasures because some of them were connected to it in their own ways (john b and the royal merchant bc of his dad, pope and the cross/denmark tanny bc family) and rafe and ward were perfect villains up until this season.

if there’s something i want to see in the next season, it’s just more pogue scenes, strengthening their own characters and developments and their dynamics with the other pogues. we really do not need the same romance drama every season. it’s boring and frankly annoying. honestly in this show there’s so much going on that i don’t feel like each one of the pogues needs to end up with someone. i would love to have jarah and jjpope as endgame and have kie and cleo end up solo or maybe have other love interests (but not really).

just give me the pogues doing what they do best — bickering while they’re off chasing some mystery and putting their lives at risk and miraculously getting out of it alive and well.

because season 3 was just weird. really weird. idk this is all for now but i might add more later!

HIIIIII 7.Do they have any unusual fears? SNAILS LMAO just like u and me sable.............. she saw a bunch gather together in her dog's bowl once and cried and had to get her dad to empty it out. she doesn't like bugs very much in general but thats not that unusual. i think she has normal fears that are the Horrors

8.Do they collect anything? If so what and why? Erina is a shopaholic so there are various things she will buy but not enough to start a real collection of, may think of starting one but falls through after realizing sh has a hoarding problem and is not an actual appreciator of things... like she loves cute toys, will have an abundance of plushies but then they fall on the floor because she rolls around so much in her sleep and forgets to pick them up. But even tho she knows this about herself she will continue to buy things like keychains and statuettes that could possible turn into a collection but are thrown around carelessly

10.Do they have any regrets? I think Erina has a lot of regrets... she is both nostalgic and a secret pessimist so there's a lot of regretting and anxiety in her past actions. Like in college she regrets trying to social climb and still felt lonely with no close relationships. She will regret a lot of friendships that have come and gone. She regrets her first and only relationship before osomatsu, where it ended really fast and poorly because she wasnt ready for the emotional weight (was too paranoid and dishonest with her feelings, was with someone out of pressure, and ended up getting more sad because her ex ended up moving onto a new relationship very fast.) etc etc she has many regrets that she feels were her fault

31. What superpower would you choose for them and what would they choose for themselves? If they have one would they choose something else? hmmm ive thought of erina maybe having villain powers like if bottled up feelings rolled off her and manifested as little bugs or imps that turn other people into funny monsters (precure style)... but if theyre good feelings theyre little fairies that look like her and give u little kiss <3 .. and about what erina would choose... erina is only about aesthetics so she chooses powers based off what outfit she would wear as a superhero, so she would be like "i wanna be a puppy makeup hero and summon a big bone weapon and its really sexy like *draws outfit*"

50. What is your favorite thing about them? I love that she is... silly cutie... LIKE trying to be a flashy party goer but inexperienced and naive and overall cringe fail. it is cute... gap moe wild peppy gyaru is a virgin loser too... a little innocent, is cute <3

Continuing from my last post about the trailer, this is for the human characters.

First off, we're in school as everyone guessed, but this school is a bit like the church in FE3H where all ages are welcomed

Okay so this totally not the villain definitely not evil white collar motherfucker is the director of our academy named Clavel. He sends us on an open study treasure hunt across the region. Sus af imo but I kinda like his hairdo. The Scarlet uniform is ATROCIOUS tho lol

This is professor Jacq, our homeroom biology teacher and without a doubt our soon to be Tumblr Sexy Man TM. He's apparently an airhead. I like him and his do as well.

Arven is our upperclassmen that's apparently focused on cooking. I like him! I hope he's a fun rival

This is the funniest ask I've ever received. I just didn't like whiny little bitch villains back then idk, I only started my conversion to a Bad Guy Simp after I saw Hans in Frozen. But yeah idk I just didn't find him interesting?? In Thor 1 he had like negative personality, and even less in Avengers. But after Thor 2 I was like "oh he's funny? oh he has feelings??" and after he looked at Valkyrie like a Fucking Slut when she kicked his ass in Ragnarok I was sold. And actually one of my biggest complaints about Infinity War was killing him off so early, that was fucked.

I still haven't seen the Loki show tho, probably should get around to watching it at some point. I'm just hella burnt out on Marvel properties, plus I fell hard for Valkyrie/Loki and it's been a little rough letting go :( I'm glad he had a dilf bf now tho, good for him!

Also, excuse you, I have terrible taste to this day! I just admitted to liking Hans from Frozen, I love Benny from Fallout New Vegas for god's sake, I have garbage taste in men, thank you very much <3

boring as shit. no joke im sorry its just booty cheeks but of the not sexy kind. its beyond mid its so mid i cant even act like i enjoyed it. it has an interesting concept and world sure but everything else is doo doo butter.

WITCH ON THE HOLY NIGHT

now this is peak. the most gorgeous tm work by far i have to say its simply an incredible read all around. even tsukire did not look or work or sound as good as mahoyo did even tho it came out almost ten(?) years after

on the story front i loved it too with a special shoutout to soujuuro being one of my favorite characters in TM (i say this often not my fault type moon keeps releasing bangers)

however mahoyo has two issues for me:

the story is clearly incomplete: i dont mean its just nonsense or whatever but when nasu said its the first of a trilogy you can just feel that in the story with alot of things being left in the air. this wouldnt be an issue really if mahoyo 2 wasnt basically dead....

i didnt vibe with the slice of life scenes as much as i usually do in nasu works: this isnt a flaw in the story more so i just didnt like em idk how else to word that

mahoyo is a great read however and i highly highly recommend you read it or else

all of the characters are simply chefs kiss. while the visual novel is incredibly dated and the art is even worse you have to understand this is nasu and takeuchis first ever visual novel made on a barely existing budget.

boy do they make up for that.

the vn is split into two with a near side and far side.

while the near side is really good with arcueid and ciels route (ignore how ciel was actually really fucked over even in her own route its laughable and my girl deserved better) the far side is so much more better and really is where the soul of tsukihime and shiki the main character lies

i cba to review it properly besides saying PLEASE READ IT RN or ill cry and you dont wanna see that do you....

what is there to be said about such a masterpiece? what else could be written about fsn that hasnt been written before? i am but an ant in the shadow of the giant that is FSN only seeking some crumbs to feed and live off of. idk what that means but it sounds cool.

FSN is simply tms best work all around. while i prefer tsuki over it and find the tsuki side of TM more interesting FSN overall is much stronger on most fronts but especially its main characters

Shirou emiya is simply the goat nothing else to be said tbh

im not a fan of remaking classics on the level of tsuki. with all its flaws i still find the original to be good enough to not need a remake...

UNTIL I READ THE REMAKE

this is how you do it folks. the story was elevated on nearly every level and if it was the complete story id say its the best ever in existence ever forever fr. its just that good.

there are three things i really want to point out:

while maybe goin overboard i really liked the buffs all the characters received and in general the whole worldbuilding is so much better now with idea bloods and principles and vampire hierarchies and arcueid inflation scenes (heh) its just epic

ciel got a so much better route that actually feels like a ciel route and not just arcueid route 2 electric bugaloo (and getting fucking cucked)

noel is peak

this is peak type moon and when red garden comes out it will be even BETTER especially with satsuki route because satsuki deserves it

there are some other short stories i havent mentioned like garden of avalon, notes, MAGNITUNING (look it up you wont regret it) its all great and worth the time of reading

eventually i wanna play CCC and read some other stuff like maybe prillya DDD, fgo jp like lb7 traum and whatnot

i finished pandae so thoughts below the cut BUT I HAVE TO YELL ABOUT SOMETHING FIRST

IVALICE STANS HOW WE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i knew there has to be a reason why themis looks like ramza beyond “it’s a cute shonen face” and there has to be a reason why lahabrea’s dark armor creations were in mullonde!!! the heart of sabik is auracite that athena tampered with and what do you know, xiv’s ultima the high seraph is a primal summoned from another world. i’ve been crackpot theorizing lahabrea was behind the summoning of ultima and manipulating the war of lions based on nothing but the presence of the dark armor miniboss and now we get actual confirmation that his wife is the first to make contact with auracite and possibly ultima too. themis’s ramza resemblance is probably symbolic but i wouldn’t rule out that ramza has even met elidibus before.

AURACITE EXISTED BEFORE THE SUNDERING. ULTIMA THE HIGH SERAPH EXISTED BEFORE THE SUNDERING.

this might also explain why the convocation seats are named after the scions of light from ff12--because they first convocation members probably were the actual scions of light that rose in opposition to the lucavi. elidibus and azem seats could be added later idk

the heart of sabik being auracite could also explain why lahabrea went from Stern Professor Who Won’t Round Up Your Grade to the bonkers version we know. auracite amplifies and twists your desires into something destructive, like with bagamnan and his wish to destroy the garlean empire. lahabrea’s duty to the star was probably similarly warped to him taking glee in destroying the shards, explaining why he’s a mustache twirling cackling villain as opposed to emet seeing the rejoining as a depressing burden.

final thing: lahabrea is all about fire magicks. his sigil is from mateus’s glyph tho, and mateus is an esper of ice. he really is in opposition to mateus, and his dual personality even references the og mateus the ivalice one is named after. this has layers.

about the fights: the first one was kinda easy, the second was a bit tricky, the third killed me bc i was too busy crying, BUT ATHENA. HOLY FUCK. SHE’S A GORGEOUS BUTTERFLY THAT SUMMONS HIGH SERAPH ADDS. i saw yet another take about how xiv female bosses are all sexy and boring but like....athena is supposed to be beautiful that’s how she masks her sinister motives and why she got so many ppl under her sway. let’s use our noggins before making hot takes on patch day 1 for clout.

im so fucking glad that the “erich is our lahabrea” theory got debunked lol. i thought claudien was an erich shard because they share similar skin tone and eye color. that’s why when erich bade us farewell, i wasn’t too sad because he’s still here in aporia and we can talk to him whenever we want. (unlike ryne and gaia....haha..... ;_;)

THEMIS THO ;-; im glad they made it canon that the wol feels absolutely terrible about killing elidibus. in the ew msq we have the options of saying “I’m sorry.” to elidibus before he sends us to elpis, and now in pandae we look miserable when themis tells us athena is making him fight us. the scene when he’s starting to dissipate in the convocation meeting room mirrors his last moments in 5.3, but this time we save him!!!!! my wol finally got off her ass and used her healing on him!!!!!! way to go yuma

i lost my mind when themis spoke to us as a friend tho. he has the face of a kyoani protag and the deepest voice in the cast. i will miss you so much my fluffy boy!!!!!! you deserve all the happiness in the world!!!! when he was drifting in the aetherial sea and the light started shining i was crying i hope his next life is full of joy.

(massive copium: no themis minion means we get to see him again in the future even tho he should be like a baby lol)

i liked when erich said that he went around looking for the wol after abyssos wrapped up. my headcanon is that he approached my azem and asked to see the absurdly strong rabbit person familiar again, and azem was like “uhhh ummm okay....here” and she pulls out a little red bunny. “this is her resting mode,” says azem. “she used up too much strength investigating pandaemonium.”

bts on the bachelorette

i really tried to relax for 5 minutes today with some dumb reality TV and then my brain wouldn't shut up. have you ever wondered what bangtan's elimination order would be on a season of the bachelorette???? well wonder no more my friends...

(this started as a headcanon and then morphed into kind of a drabble? tbh i don't even know what's happening here. just enjoy it lmao 😂)

the first one sent home is yoongi - yes, i think my sweet baby boy would get sent home night one. this breaks my heart but i just see him being too reserved, too closed off, not jumping to make a first impression and getting lost in the shuffle. he would ABSOLUTELY be one of those first-eliminated guys who gets a whole legion of fans tho, and they campaign HARD to get his pale ass on paradise 😂

next to go is seokjin - he would get kept around just long enough to be a villain lmaoooo. the one guy who drives all the others crazy because he’s cocky as fuck about his looks and is NOT here to make friends. i could see jk telling on him to bachelorette and there being a whole dramatic confrontation where she rips the rose out of his hands and says “get the fuck out of here”. he absolutely makes and sells worldwide handsome merch after.

the next one out is jimin - and he's definitely the dude who gets by on sex appeal alone LMAO. the one where bachelorette is like ‘i’m just not sure i have the same connection with jimin’ and then he takes his shirt off and she’s like ‘……i’m sorry can you repeat the question’. they have at least two steamy makeout sessions before she finally has to send him packing tho, good for her 🥰

then, the shocking elimination that's teased for weeks: jungkook - when i tell you twitter EXPLODES. you’ll see headlines about this one on the motherfucking NEWS in the morning. doe-eyed, tattooed, sexy shy badboy jk eliminated?!?!??! has the bitch lost her MIND????? but bachelorette just can’t get over the fact that he’s so young, and she’s afraid he’s not ready to make such a serious commitment.

there’s a ton of push-pull where she feels like jk doesn’t “fight for her” enough because he is more reserved, but then he’ll do something competitive and it’s just enough to keep her hooked on him a little longer, until this episode where she finally has to let him go. he definitely has an extended crying montage on the way out/in the car where he says some stuff about how he’d never been in love like this before. omg ouch let’s move on i’m hurt.

WHICH LEAVES THE FINAL TWO!!!!! and bachelorette is so torn!!! 😩

taehyung is gorgeous, romantic, and sensual (insert clip from a date of him feeding her chocolate covered strawberries). he’s an old soul, passionate, but has an extremely dry sense of humor that bachelorette falls HARD for. she loves that they can laugh together, and he isn’t afraid to look stupid or try something new (insert clip of them doing that indoor skydiving thing on a date). and he’s also not afraid to tell her exactly what he wants- marriage, kids, a life with her by his side.

but sometimes he can be hard to read. he’s honestly so good looking it makes her a little insecure, and she just has this nagging feeling like he isn’t quite letting her all the way in....but she can't tell if that's just her own fear about finding a love this intense.

namjoon is intelligent, supportive, and so goddamn sexy (insert clip from a group date competition of him doing pull-ups). bachelorette feels comfortable with him in a way she doesn’t quite have words for. sometimes she swears it feels like she’s met him before in another lifetime, and this is just a reunion. (insert clip from a picnic date where she rests her head in joon’s lap as he reads to her). he’s so well-spoken and such a deep thinker, and the world falls head over heels for the conversations they’re able to have about love, loyalty, identity, emotions.

but she’s not sure she feels the same passion and fire with him that she does with taehyung. namjoon admits outright that he doesn’t know what he wants in life, is unsure about marriage or kids, and when he gets too in his head and insecure about the competition, he can shut her out without meaning to.

we watch with bated breath as bachelorette takes her place at the gorgeous vista decorated for her proposal. everyone who’s seen the show before knows that whoever steps out of the limo first is the one she’s chosen to send home.

hearts shatter nationwide when joon ducks his head to exit the car.

bachelorette stops him before he can even go into his speech, laughs a little to herself: “I know if I let you start talking it’s going to change my mind, so let me go first.” explains that she’s just too scared of his indecisiveness. she’s prone to overthinking herself, so she needs someone who is going to offer stability, someone who is ready and knows what he wants. joon takes it like the gentleman he is, one dimple popping in a sad half-smile, and she presses up on her tiptoes to give him a hug.

which just leaves taehyung. he steps out of the car with a deep exhale, and you can see even from afar that his hands are shaking as he makes his way to bachelorette, mouth dropping open slightly at how gorgeous she looks.

the proposal is like something out of a movie, a long, perfect speech delivered in tae’s shaky baritone as a breeze ruffles through his hair and toys with the hem of bachelorette's dress. he winds back through their time together accompanied by an edited montage, and finally ends with the truth: he knew as soon as he laid eyes on her that this was meant to be, and that she was the one. the music swells as he drops to a knee and pulls out a big-ass diamond ring, and they’re both crying by the time she says yes.

~then, after the show wraps:

namjoon, fan fave that he is, appears in a suit on the reunion show to gladly accept the title of the next bachelor. expect LOTS of gratuitous clips of him in the gym during his intro package ooooof 🥵

the vast majority of our faves end up going to paradise- yoongi fucks literally every girl there LMAO, jungkook goes for one week but is too nervous to talk to anyone and just chats with the bartender and drinks fruity cocktails until he gets sent home. jimin and hobi have an epic summer bromance and end up choosing each other over any of the women.

and then, i mean, if we're being realistic... tae cheats on bachelorette 3 months into their engagement and they call the whole thing off 💀

as a sapphic lover of musicals, i enjoyed mean girls a lot! it was a fun time. c:

as someone who knows the original musical by heart and is passionate about adaptations, i do have a lot of thoughts!

they definitely gave the songs a pop remix makeover in attempt to appeal to a mainstream audience... some of them i liked, some of them not so much. i prefer the broadway soundtrack, maybe out of familiarity, but i could see why someone else might prefer the movie's interpretation. this is the musical in a brand new form so i like that they tried something different. it makes total sense that certain things got changed around or cut. (not that i agree with every choice that was made, but i digress.)

i think cady's role and songs suffered the most from these changes. her lines were sung very softly and prettily... but her songs weren't particularly memorable. regina stole the whole show away from her. i knew she would going in, but still.

regina's songs were excellent, as expected! i love a good villain song and enjoyed myself thoroughly through every single one. sexy was also solid! random note, but i'm also so glad they nixed the 'i never weigh more than 115' line in regina's intro / the fat-shaming jokes.

making cady meek and soft-spoken was a choice. it was interesting to see a brand new take on her character and she did come across like a relatable teenage kid. the actress did great with what she was given. (her emotional moments towards the end of the film tugged at my heartstrings, too.) however, i think seeing her like that made it clearer than ever that cady needs more spunk if she's going to hold a candle to regina george.

it really showed in apex predator when they gave cady's 'and though janis is great she does not have this power, people literally cower, janis can't do that' line to damian instead. that whole song is supposed to be cady strategizing how she's going to survive high school based on what she knows about animals and how they interact. apex predator fell flat for me because the movie musical's cady seemed more like an innocent observer amidst all the chaos in the hall. meanwhile, the musical cady is full of boundless enthusiasm and takes a more active role in pursuing the plastics for her own gain.

also, changing direction here... but there was waaaay too much of the actors looking directly at the camera. like. stop that! (maybe it was a stylistic choice bc the film started out being filmed on a phone? idk but i was not a fan of that haha.) i did like how the movie started and ended in the garage and how that was handled tho.

i understand why they cut a lot of songs from the second act, especially those that don't really contribute to moving the story forward, but i think they should have at least kept more is better or do this thing. (i get why they cut more is better if they didn't want aaron singing... but that song ties everything together with i see stars at the end / gives us a little time to check in with cady after her plastic transformation.) the end of the movie dragged for me-- it was mostly the new actors reenacting scenes from the original movie. when they were talking through scenes i knew the musical had specific songs for it was a bit frustrating to watch. those songs could have moved the story from one scene to the next in a new way-- this is supposed to be a musical after all!

anyway-- regardless of these thoughts i still had a good time watching mean girls! there were a lot of things to love about this adaptation. the costumes, the representation, the cameos and some of the tweaks they made to the story. regina george. saying outright that janis is gay and seeing her go to prom w a girl! the new lore, the new jokes. (the comedy of regina getting hit by the bus in the bg as janis finishes singing i'd rather be me.) regina george. seeing a new movie musical in theaters is always a treat and i had a lot of fun watching this one!

obvi I love crow mauler bc he’s directly inspired by pyramid head :3 I love his two headed form even more. honestly not a terrifying boss once u have a full team and a red vial to blind him..

I adore the first few phases of the god of fear and hunger and I love her transition from like a sort of Greek bust to an icon of sorts? like a statuette I really am so in love w the first form tho where she’s just a woman ugh it makes me so sad knowing what the girl has been through

a few general enemies I love from funger 1 the harvestman and uterus being directly inspired by nirvana is so cool.. I also just love gross and awful the harvestman is and im also obsessed w the idea of like mothers n monsters so I love uterus

same for the cave mother.. I love how she’s just feeding her babies I love that you have to cut her tits off I love.. her she’s gorgeous and I love how she’s made of stone omg the angel I love bc of the exposed heart! and I love the night lurch bc he’s hot sorry

termina enemies taking on like a more steampunk kind of direction is so fun to me :3 the village in funger has always reminded me of resident evil 4! same sort of concept really the mobs chase u around and then like dr Salvador the chainsaw man in re4 there’s a dude with a meat grinder lmfao. I mean funger heavily is inspired by other games bc the healing system in itself is totally ripped from re bc red herb green herb blue herb duh I think it’s so fun ack..

I LOVE VILE I have a thing for masks and the pig mask is so fucking cool also he’s so HUGE compared to the rest of the villagers it’s so hot

i adore stitches she’s beautiful to me and the reference to human centipede with her like mass of flesh that she adds you to is so cool.. also her being Elise adds so many layers to it bc daan seeing her face on that body ugh.. and needles being inspired by terrifier and also being stitches dad technically.. honestly needles is an easy feat once u have a strong enough team

rancid is so fucking cool. I love his spears I love his design so bad.. pocket cat is so cute hes such a gentleman I love him no one could make me hate him despite his creepiness .. sylvian trooper is here bc sexy bondage idk

KAISER… MY ALL TIME FAVE.. my princess hes everything 2 me actually .. I adore legarde so ofc I love Kaiser !! his rot form is also gorgeous I think it’s such a cool take on his yellow king form? like ugh idk he’s gorgeous. perkele being the actual villain is funny I also just love the feathers and hat and legs it’s cunty and the heartless one is so gorgeous the wings and the hair i love ..

Olivia’s moonscorch is very terrifying to me ? she’s so scary to play against and the way she fucking is just a hollow piece of metal makes me so sad knowing how Olivia’s story goes ack.. something ab how empty it is compared to the rest of the moonscorches yah.. KARINS IS MY FAVE it’s gorgeous she’s also the character who I main so im biased but the fact she references the word Valkyrie and then turns into one is so cool.. like ack

cocoon is just so cool.. Marina has been controlled and hidden all her life so the same happens in death .. also love the twisted limbs . THE GENTLEMAN I am so into him he’s so big and handsome to me I want to have sex with him but I am biased bc henryk is a blonde boy with similar hair to leon and I want him. chaugnar being how abella feels ab herself makes me sad.. poor baby also inspired by a Lovecraft creation. um her being as strong as a boss is so cool and the fact she never really dies? I adore abella that’s why I save her and not henryk bc god why would I want to deal w chaugnar

the thing is i'm hyperaware of the fact that i'm Weird About Andrew Dabb but it comes from a place of me realizing back in fall 2021 that i wanted to identify why exactly i didn't like him and deciding to do a close watch of his spn eps. and when i realized i was enjoying parts of it, i decided to see what i could turn up any of his non-spn work. (this is something i've always tended to do with creatives: tracking down older stuff for a more holistic view of their work.)

i was so stuck on how much i hated some parts of his writing (s7 dabb-loflin is horrendous) and couldn't get past that... then i found out independently that he was showrunning the upcoming netflix resi show (a franchise i both love and have complicated feelings about) which filled me with dread that the guy who co-wrote 07x22 would helm a show with a predominantly black cast -- especially with the ultimate villain, albert wesker, played by a black man (RIP lance reddick, you are dearly missed). i wanted to be optimistic but i was ready to be infuriated and was so nervous that i'd hate something i'd been looking forward to as some camp horror tv.

but then. oh. OH. it was everything i ever wanted from resi and never thought i could have. i could not conceive of a resi like this. a resi where women and poc are treated with empathy and as nuanced characters with interiority. where they are the central characters. the video games have their own issues but the movies are truly egregious when it comes to black characters. so to have a predominantly black cast (and a black female protag, no less!) and have them treated respectfully was amazing. this was a show that had heart and a somewhat diverse writer's room and bts crew (not saying it was perfect) and you could see that difference in how characters were treated and how the plot and direction was handled. (i think having female directors and producers in particular helped a lot.)

for those who have not seen the anderson/jovovich movies: there is always a token black character and they will always die by the halfway mark bc they make stupid decisions. it's non-stop tits and ass shots of jovovich (which feels super weird when the director is her husband). alice (jovovich) is an Action Girl who is frequently subjected to sexualized violence but unfortunately, i love the camp horror of it. it's complicated. the video games have their own issues with the portrayal of women and ada wong being DLC feels really shitty when she's so pivotal. women are largely either helpless or Strong Sexy Action Women.

like i really cannot express just how much 8 episodes of tv so wholly changed my opinion of a writer/showrunner bc it showed such growth. a showrunner is only one piece of the puzzle of a tv show but they are the ones guiding it and the ones who have substantial influence in the hiring and development/direction of the story.

it's like. i don't forgive dabb for 07x22 and the shit he wrote with loflin (or solo, tho he improved a lot without loflin), but to see how resi turned out and to read/watch interviews with him and the bts crew is like. oh, okay. i think this person gets it now. i don't think i can forgive and forget bc s7 makes my blood boil, but i can accept that growth has happened here and that's what we should want from people.

also i'm gonna say that when i look at how i am Weird About Dabb and take a step back, i can see that i'm about as weird about him as some folks are about other writers and actors from spn (and willing to acknowledge his faults). i just chose a weird writer to be Weird about.

sorry but i just have a lot of feelings about resi.

#it really breaks my heart that in interviews with the bts folks they talked about how this was *supposed* to be a diff take on the franchise #that both worked with canon but didn't require the viewer to have 20 years of plot stored in their brains #to see these ppl who were so passionate and clearly loved the franchise and wanted it to grow and change and then have it cancelled #then there's the interview with dabb where they asked him about casting reddick to play a historically white character #with his answer basically being 'he expressed interest. you don't turn down lance fucking reddick. we adjusted the part accordingly.'#'if you watch the show you'll understand the changes to wesker and why he's alive even tho he died in the games'#the answer was just 'this wesker is a clone' with zero acknowledgment of the race change. it was amazing.#i'm so so so SO sad that we lost this show after one season and i've cried over it but i'm glad we at least got one season #it was so 'this is everything i ever wanted and didn't know i could have' that idk if i can go back to the main franchise #resi
