a vent post I guess?? srry I just gotta get some things out 😓

I kinda feel like coming out as trans was a bad idea in my family sometimes.. my dad supports me 100% all way. he got the habit of switching my pronouns and name done in a week, but my mom doesn't support me 100%. It's more like 60% on her part. she's supported the idea of me getting a binder, but that's about it. she actually pretty good at using my pronouns and name, but she only uses them when we're out in public, in front of people, but when we're alone, or at home, she doesn't use them... on purpose. this has caused arguments and she's really unreasonable. she doesn't believe I'm "fully trans" because I haven't completely transitioned, so I'm still just some girl who wants to be a boy in her eyes, until I fully become a boy or whatever... BUT I CAN'T AFFORD ANYTHING RIGHT NOW SO I AM TRANS LIKE WTF, ITS A PROCESS. but at the same time she doesn't really like the idea of me getting top and buttom surgery SO HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BECOME "FULLY MAN ENOUGH" IF YOU DON'T EVEN REALLY WANT ME TO!???? she also says "do you really wanna be a boy, I mean, you're really into dresses??" but boys can wear dresses too!!! but what I mean by I think it was a bad idea coming out... is that it causes more arguments for my parents. my dad had argued with her before that guys can wear dresses, that my pronouns and name should be respected in any place, home or not, and she treats him like shit for using my preferred pronouns and name, says that "SHE'S NOT A BOY YET" AND I CAN'T STAND THEM ARGUING ABOUT IT. before I came out, they hardly argued, but when I came out, there's been more frequent arguments, and even arguments not about me being trans have become more frequent, AND SOMETIMES SHE BRINGS UP ME BEING TRANS IN THOSE ARGUMENTS TO HOLD IT AGAINST HIM OR SOMETHING????? Hey anon!! I'm so sorry for the late, it's really been a long time I'm sorry 😓 I didn't mean to ignore you, but let's talk about Mahiru!!💖🥰

Favorite thing about them: I really really like how much she cares about everyone, she deep down always just wants the best for others and I admire that! She deserved much more, I even got to spend one free time with her during my playthrough and I planned on spending more until... I was really sad she died 'cause she really seemed like she would be an important character, I was really enjoying her presence. -

Least favorite thing about them: The most obvious answer everyone knows, but that's not what I'm going to talk about. What I'd like to point out about her in this point is how she reacts if people don't give good constructive compliments about her photos or anything in general. I don't think she's wrong, we should all learn to give better criticism and arguments about the things we like or dislike, but that doesn't mean we have to do it all the time or also to things that we aren't very knowledgeable about. Not everything that we like, see or enjoy needs to have a detailed justification to why we like it. Her talent is photography, which is a form of art, and I think art is something that everyone can enjoy and interpret in many different ways, and it can also give people many different emotions. Not everyone is comfortable to share those emotions, even less with the very artist/owner of the art. Some people are just shy, just because someone says "it's cool... pretty" doesn't mean they can't take in the beauty of the art, they may just not feel like sharing it or go on a long analysis at the moment. It always depends on the situation, there are moments and places where people are supposed to give their best arguments, analysis and such about things but when randomly asking someone about their opinion on something, she should be the one to be clear she wants a more constructive opinion before judging anyone for how they reply. -

Favorite line: "I want to visit different worlds and take pictures of people's sparkling smiles there". I think this quote captures well how much Mahiru cares about everyone along with her love for photography. I also love to see people smile, seeing people smile fills me with life that's why I always try my best to smile. I love this about Mahiru so much. -

BrOTP: Hmm I don't know really, maybe Fuyuhiko? I like how they do even have a sweet "make up" interaction in UTDP and it shows how they could have gotten along in different circumstances. -

OTP: I don't really have any OTP with Mahiru, I mostly stay neutral with any ship with her, I think she'd fit best with an extroverted enthusiastic character like Ibuki which can make her relax and realise she can have fun once in a while. Also in the anime I did like her relationship with Sato despite of everything that came out of it, I do like them together. -

NOTP: Hmm... ok I don't actually like her and Hiyoko. They are very cute together YES, if we forget completely what kind of person and character Hiyoko is. Why did Hiyoko even "choose" Mahiru?? Simply for being a "little nice" and respecting her?? What did others ever do to her??. She was rude to everyone from the START, before they judged her for anything, before anyone was ever rude to her and the only reason they were was because of her OWN attitude. After Hiyoko explained why she couldn't take baths, NOT A SINGLE CHARACTER JUDGED HER, Mahiru was simply the first to offer help. NOT TO MENTION SONIA OFFERED TO HELP HIYOKO IN CHAPTER 3!!!!!!! YET THE WAY SHE TALKS ABOUT SONIA IN HER LAST FTE, TELLING HAJIME TO GO BEAT HER UP, WTF?!?!?! THE VERY LAST FTE!!!!!! How she's so incredibly rude to everyone but then suddenly out of nowhere cares about Mahiru, I don't buy it at all. In her FTEs we see Hiyoko be so rude, manipulative and gaslights Hajime into doing things for her, who's to say she wouldn't do the same to Mahiru? Because Mahiru is her "favourite" ? I don't think so and I don't care either way. Hiyoko comparing Hajime to her dad about how he did everything to her is basically her saying her dad babied her and always did everything for her, and that's what she ended up liking about Hajime, and that's what she likes about Mahiru, all she wants is someone who will always be by her side and do whatever she wants while she makes NO EFFORT to respect anyone around her. She constantly cries and manipulates others into doing what she wants and she never gets ANY punishment for her actions. I think like I said in the "OTP" about Ibuki, how Mahiru would be best with someone more extroverted and enthusiastic, this is why it seems like her relationship with Hiyoko seems to flow well, but Hiyoko herself doesn't. Hiyoko even, EVEN made Mahiru herself a victim of the lust drink or whatever of the anime that got everyone horny. She did that to Mahiru TOO. And that's why I'm pretty sure Mahiru could easily be just another one of Hiyoko's victims. Mahiru deserves better. -

Unpopular opinion: My unpopular opinion is probably my disliking of her and Hiyoko's relationship because no matter how many people I see dislike Hiyoko, they always comment how sweet she and Mahiru are, and sure they are, but also not when I think about it. -

it's not about "walking away" or abruptly breaking all the ties with Yuna. It's about the way Jk reacted when Yuna said SO many humiliating things about oc!!!! He just replied "we'll figure that out it's our business blablabla" DULL SHIT!!!

He didn't defend oc! didn't tell Yuna how fckng BAD she is (which was necessary here after the way Yuna bashed oc)!

He should've at least yelled at her without feeling the "itch to hug her/pat her" eww 🤮🤮🤮 what is this behaviour lmao. His thoughts abt Yuna sometimes gives mixed signals ngl 💀

Anyways, the main point is, we're annoyed at how Jk behaved, even after hearing how cheaply Yuna thinks of Oc, not at how he "didn't break their friendship right then & there". He should've talked with her sternly, should've told her off when she started badmouthing his GF, should've NOT hugged her like that (like wtf he knows she likes him but still doing skinship is...weird), should've thought about how Yuna affected Oc & his relationship with Oc before being all "sympathetic" & caring about Yuna's "feelings" (I know he said that all he cared abt was oc all this time lmaooo but his action says otherwise 🥴)

I badly want Oc to end up with Jk but the way he behaved in part 5- 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I still want their happy ending but he should face some karma. Oc should NOT be the one apologising. Her feelings were valid.

ok soo basically, my thought process behind this thing abt jk not defending OC here is that it's pretty much pointless. As a reader, you can see that Yuna is really manipulative and feels very strongly towards OC and nothing but she alone can change that. JK finds it counterproductive to defend OC to someone who doesn't actually care about her in the first place, he chooses to attack her line of thinking instead so she herself can introspect and review what she says. He's also trying to process stuff that's being said to him. Like maybe he's just a people pleaser yk?

Like, the way it played out in my was like 'Ok my best friend of these many years absolutely hates my girlfriend because she likes me but I never saw this coming. This is not my fault but I still feel bad for her because we've been friends for years! I have no doubts about my interest in my current girlfriend and she is not here to watch this go down but I plan on telling her about it after I calmly try to navigate through this.'

She really hasnt had time for hobbies in a long time but she likes reading and gardening and stress journaling

I'm not going to say she's also a prog fan but im also not going to say she isnt.................... sorry idk wtf else is going on in the 60s-70s

To both, of course. She can do cpr, first aid, plenty of other Doctor Things. Specifics of her medical expertise is that shes a medical oncologist but does radiation therapy also. has participated in Tumor Boards. has participated in research and experimental treatment distribution. and is now stuck in region zero with shitty supplies and unfair working conditions and depression. Great.

🚫 PROHIBITED — does your oc drink/smoke? do they do it regularly, or is it more on occasion or for special events?

On special occasions she'll drink, she's never the type to get super crazy with it unless its insane coping hour tho really. Cursed to always be the designated driver if it's a going-out occasion anyway -__-

1. YES she owned a gun for self defense. obtained from commies more willing to resort to violence than anyone in her immediate company at the time being. She eventually told Leslie about it, but not selma. one of the few secrets successfully kept between any portion of those three.

2. Faust gets to be named after irrelevant german folklore so so does she. her middle name is Lorelei.

3. Unlike her brother she is horribly afraid of public speaking. Research presentations or like. the entire process of moving to Region Zero even tho it wasnt particularly public (just stating her case to a bunch of new people all the fucking time) is all a fucking nightmare for her. But she perseveres <3

Her birthday, if that counts. Fuck the other guy who was born on that day tho.

She and that other guy were born and raised in London Ontario and lived there most of their lives up until college. Ivy went to college in Toronto and continued to live and work there up until Region Zero. As for how she feels about it.... pretty indifferent? Shes of course homesick about it once shes stuck in Region Zero, but while she lived there i think she kinda felt she outgrew it. she didnt, really, but no point in worrying about that anymore <3

💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?

Shes more individualistic than she comes off/than is expected of her by her Friends but Selma and Leslie are still her besties and still important to her people-wise. Faust too to some degree but ITS COMPLICATED. She liked him more before he sold out -__-

As for other things she finds important, she kinda has Faust's aforementioned disease to where she really feels the need to succeed and mean something to the world, but i mean shes kinda doing a good thing so ??????? she really Does care about helping people it's not entirely selfish, but i think anyone who has such high ambitions is a LITTLE attention-seeking. That doesn't really answer the question tho. What she cares about is healing people LOL towards the End she really struggled to find much purpose at all but generally speaking thats a priority, even if its unrealistic to do it on as large of a scale as she'd wish.

🍸 COCKTAIL GLASS — what is your oc's favorite alcoholic drink, if they can drink?

I think she likes to keep it classy with a wine/champagne situation but i think she should drink more and be less picky, god knows she needs it.

😊 SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES — what are your oc's career/general life desires? what do they want to get the most out of life?

She wants to be someone who helps people and helps the world. She wants to be an activist and leader in her profession and she wants to be remembered that way even after she's dead (before dying was an immediate concern, anyway) and she hopes its not selfish to hope for such a thing. SOMEONES gotta do it. It's not shocking that she was the perfect Region Zero candidate, tho, as someone who attaches so much of her worth and being to her career. but being a doctor is more than just a career, right, its PERSONAL. Shes someone who just wants to do the right thing, but if theres two things shes learned its that there never is a right thing and the closest thing to the right thing will never be enough.

🤔 THINKING FACE — what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?

Shes a very quiet/shy/softspoken person in comparison to her obnoxious friends, regardless of her level of unhingedness over the years. She is often caught lost in thought and people think shes really introspective which i suppose is true but its mostly just the depression. She is very accidentally and/or deadpan funny. She suffers from a Canadian accent.

😓 DOWNCAST FACE WITH SWEAT — is your oc open-minded or stubborn? are they inquisitive or do they prefer to keep to their bubble of knowledge?

She's openminded and inquisitive, maybe a little too much for her own good clearly, but she can stick to things that actually mean something to her....except maybe cutting of her shitty brother.....or not using guns.....but that's besides the point. She loves learning and going to new places and hearing different experiences. One might say region zero was the perfect opportunity for that at least <3

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — how many people are in your oc's immediate family? how many people are in your oc's extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? who in their family are they closest with? are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?

She grew up with her mom and dad and Faust, who's her only sibling. They were quite spoiled and loved ofc. Im sure they have some grandmas and cousins and such that were also relatively close, but not like her best friends or anything. I think she eventually grew real distant from just about everyone once she started becoming more intense about her work, but the love was still there. when she (and faust) left for region zero, they were rightfully quite concerned but figure that if the Good Twin chose to do it then it couldnt have been too awful of a decision. Oh little did they know.
