we had our regular brunch today and my cousin was about to make herself a coffee. she got a cat mug out but then saw another one and got really excited. i was curious what mug she liked so much and...

I feel like this might be early Angel??? Before Husker gets him to open up and trust/be real around everyone- so before Sir Pentious joins, too.

I don't think he would intentionally ditch her, but I think Angel would forget she was there after a couple drinks and after flirting with some other Sinners, and she has to call Lucifer for help when she ends up surrounded. Angel realizes what happened, gets hit with guilt- watching Lucifer teleport away with a crying El- and starts taking protecting her more seriously afterwards. His invitations outside the hotel become more genuine, too, noticing she never really leaves unless Lucifer calls- and he teleports her, so it still doesn't count as leaving.

Anyways! After the incident, El feels very unsafe/uncomfortable and probably just sits in a corner until Lucifer pulls her into a dance to try and cheer her up. It works. By this point, Lucifer is moving on from the divorce, so he stopped wearing his wedding ring.

...I have no idea when the spicy drawing takes place, I just... wanted to draw it... a-ahem.

First time drawing Angel Dust, Alastor, and Husker! Here's hoping Alastor doesn't murder me in my sleep for where I unintentionally placed him. Oof. I feel like I got his color scheme slightly off (the colors don't really feel bright enough to me) but I tried.

In StarClan, you can use the names and appearance that you could have had, if you died young. It's very rare that you get permakits or permapprentices. I lifted from the COTC story about Smallstar and his siblings.

(Though, in BB those kits actually survive and it's MAPLESHADE’S kits who lead to the law on protecting children, Darkstar's Commandment, the Queen’s Rights. Smallstar is the leader of WindClan and xey're super chill. Xey own a lovely shawl.)

So Snowkit chooses to appear as Snowcarve, an Honor Title he would have earned for the creation of a full written Clan cat language, expanded from the simple glyphs. I'm not sure if he's a popular patron, but I do know that Bramble and Tawny invoke him sometimes.

Unfortunately though he's more invoked for general guidance by the two of them, not for possibilities like I think he'd like. He watches over them though, like a guardian angel. A lot of cats secretly have those.

I'm not sure who he follows around more often though. I think he LIKES following Tawny more because she's a better listener to his omens. But he feels like Bramble NEEDS him more, y'know?

Also notably, Snowcarve was technically their uncle, but the relationship is best described as "1st cousin." Rabnir in Clanmew, a familial role about somewhat distant but parallel growth, seen also with Brightpaw and Swiftpaw.

#Snowcarve has a lot of opinions on the Clan and its actions #I think he really strongly dislikes how they tried to 'honor' him with Whitewing #She's deaf and serious but he doesn't feel like they're very alike at all. She doesn't even like glyphs. #I think in general he feels a lot of resentment about how they remember him as something so innocent and simple #One of the interesting implications of how dead kids work in BB that I haven't explored much is-- #--that they will be remembered for the most simple part of their existence #But they're like angels. They have a lot of tasks and jobs they carry out and they learn all that #And see what they could have been on earth. And even claim it. They aren't connected to that innocent image of themselves #Or even to the mortal plane in general. the thing is that while gunn staking alonna is a great character beat for him in the single episode it's part of, i actually think it was the completely wrong decision for the show as a whole. it immediately torpedoes a potentially fascinating relationship and cuts off a potential series-long storyline for gunn (which they were seriously in need of). if alonna sticks around, you have a juicy relationship to draw on for gunn's storylines. you have built-in parallels to angel's relationships with kathy and darla both. you have a vampire character without a soul who hasn't yet committed the kind of evil acts angel/darla/spike etc. have and thus you can tell a different kind of vampire story about her. you also have a narratively important woman of color who doesn't immediately fucking die which. you know. would be nice. in conclusion #bring back alonna gunn 2024

The Muses hit me with some random inspiration today so here’s a proper design sheet for He of the Lingering Smog and the Glittering Lights, aka Hollywood Angel, aka the God of Los Angeles, featuring the script Chahvinik by @thecrazyneographist.

He’s mostly based on the name of his city, the fashion sense of the famous bit of Humanity that calls him home (clothing is half gala dress, half black tie suit), all the ink those writers use up, paparazzi, Hollywood’s history of censorship, the smog that blankets his land, the manipulative nature of the industry, and the horses of the Spanish who took the land for the Angels.
