I'm back talking about Harry Potter and Snape's worst memory because while I hate the author y'all bug me.
Snape worst memory isn't James bulling him or string him up in front of the school, (that was bad I'm not saying it wasn't) it was Lily ending her friendship with him because he called her a Mudblood. With evidence.
To prove my point we have to go read the Deathly Hallows when Snape gave Harry his memories! We get to see the scene again but this time the thing that sticks out the most is Snape calling Lily a Mudblood. Now if that's not enough proof the next memory goes like this.
*Outside Gryffindor Tower*
Snape: I'm sorry
Lily: I'm not interested
S: I'm sorry!
L: save your breath... I only came out here because Mary told me you were threatening to sleep here.
S: I was. I would have done. I never ment to call you a Mudblood it just-
L: Slipped out? It's too late. I've made excuses for you for years. None of my friends can understand why I even talk to you. You and your precious little Death Eater friends- you see, you don't even deny it! You don't even deny that's what you're all aiming to be! You can't wait to join You-Know-Who, can you? I can't pretend anymore. You've chosen your way, I've chosen mine.
S: No-listen, I didn't mean-
L:-to call me a Mudblood? But you call everyone of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I be any different?
*Lily leaves. Memory ends*
The next memory is Snape becoming a turn coat for Dumbledore so he could keep Lily safe because Voldemort wouldn't spare her.
Snape has had worse experiences then a teenage James Potter being a bully (even if it was shitty). so we look at the rest of the memory and lo and behold what do we see? The actual worst moment of Snape life, the moment he lost Lily forever.

Turns on loud speaker
Fuck elves being eternally mournful when their mortal love dies! Fuck elves being eternally moving onto the next spouse!
Give me elves who are 1000 years off from the death of their partners and still are putting food on their grave shrine because "It was on sale and I remember you said 'Never pay full price for cake when Day-Old bakery mark downs exist.'."
Gimme elves who are chronic shopaholics for their loved ones. Putting expensive makeup, jewelry, and material items that their human always stared at through windows all around their home shrine. The home shrine turns into a room of gifts for someone who will never touch them, never be seen wearing them, never thank them. Thats okay. Because this elf is down bad and will be down bad for another eternity! Everyone in the afterlife is going to be so jealous of their mortal's dutiful and cool immortal lover.
Elves building entire temples to their long dead loved ones when the rooms no longer suffice! 3,000 years later where they are seen as the immortal protector of what must have been a glorious and kindly god! For no other shrine created has been so beautiful and full of love!
"Oh! You really shouldn't have gone shopping for a gift! Thats not what this is all about- really! ....Though, if you could find any vintage dress shirts in their shape and size, or make one, we'd be very grateful! This color was their favorite!"
Elves who worship the days of birth and death of their mortal spouse because, if they hadnt been ORDERED not to, they would have worshipped every day their sweetheart was alive!
And of course the same applies to vampires.
The ghosts of these massive, immortal simps's lovers are absolutely rolling over in embarrassment long after theyve become a minor deity through the prayer and worship of 1 elf for 8,000 years and their accumulated following of an entire city's worth of pilgrims, villagers, nobility, hermits, and maybe other elves who recognize the honor they would be bestowing upon this beautiful love.

I absolutely love how Perenelle has just had her own entirely separate side plot going on for three entire books. she got kidnapped 20 pages into book one and we've just been occasionally checking in on her for three books to find out she's absolutely kicking ass all on her own, then we go back to the main plot where Flamel and the twins are amongst multiple other very skilled people and still struggling and constantly almost dying
the author said Perenelle was much more dangerous and powerful than Flamel and then he proved it. if it had been Flamel kidnapped and Perenelle with the kids they would've already mastered all the magics and defeated the Dark Elders by now

It's so lovely seeing Clyde again! He and Jo have wonderful chemistry, even though they've only been in one other story together. I could have watched them having banter and emotions together all day long.
My only point of criticism is the Clyde/Rani stuff. There was always a bit of a will they/won't they between the two of them in SJA, which was fine, and I'd also be fine if they established that they're a couple now, but I find it a bit weird that Clyde is still pining after Rani when they're in their early thirties (character-wise).
Jo grieving for Cliff was beautifully done, and the comparison to how her love for the Doctor is like Clyde's for Sarah Jane (cue me sobbing), but I didn't like the framing that Clyde was missing out on "the most important part" of being a person by not telling Rani that he likes her romantically. It feels like it devalues their existing friendship, in addition to the obvious privileging of romance to an undue degree. It also just feels a bit juvenile that Clyde is still trapped in the "pining for Rani" phase that he was in when we last saw him as a teenager. I want to know more about how he's grown as a person! He's a published comic book writer/artist - that's awesome! I want more of that.
Anyway, that's just a minor gripe. I genuinely loved getting to see him again, and he and Jo are wonderful together.

Also wandering off the general Crooked City Lore track but one of my favorite little concepts we came up with from when Banescales were first released is having one raised by a Gaoler who is trying to right the wrongs of their ancestors
Like they can't fix everything that went wrong, but they can make sure this child of a breed of dragon that their ancestors nearly wiped out flourishes

my mom has a friend whos looking for a job ONLY so that she isn't alone and would regularly meet other people instead of being home alone. financially shes ok, shes has millions currently (not in euros or dollars btw) and has an old billionaire relative and when he dies she will inherit everything. like this is my ideal life tbh. i WISH that at the age of 55 id be financially very well off lived alone and the only reason id need a job is so i felt less alone. but what i will get at 55 is being lonely AND poor 😑 or maybe dead idk
