DannyMay 2022 Day 4: Videotape
Word Count: 882
AO3 Link
“Jack, where did you put the camcorder?” Maddie yelled down to her husband who was still packing weapons in the lab. She had the rest of their bags packed and ready to go for their weekend trip with the exception of the camcorder. Hopefully the older technology would help them pick up ghostly interference on their trip. They still struggled to collect evidence outside of Amity Park.
With no answer from Jack, she decided to continue her search upstairs. She’d already checked the lab and the living room. Maybe one of the kids borrowed it.
The door to Jazz’s door opened onto a tidy and organized room. Her bed was made and her desktop was neat and Maddie could quickly see that she didn’t have the camcorder. Danny’s room, on the other hand, was a mess. Piles of clothes littered the floor and bed covers trailed off the bed and across the room. The top of the desk and everything on it was obscured by loose papers and random writing utensils. A vaguely camcorder shaped lumped on the desk caught her attention. Maddie hesitated in the doorway. As a rule, she didn’t dig through her kids’ things, trust was important. If he’d left it out and easy to find, she wouldn’t feel quite so bad. Decision made, she carefully shifted the papers out of the way to reveal the camcorder and returned to the living room with it.
“Hey, you found it!” Jack exclaimed, emerging from the basement stairs with an overflowing bag of weapons.
“Yes, it was in Danny’s room.” She turned the camcorder over in her hands, searching for the cassette eject. The compartment popped open with a click and she pulled the tape out. “This tape is half-used. I can’t remember the last time we used this. What do you think it is?”
“Let’s watch it!” Sometimes her husband’s enthusiasm was more than she wanted to deal with when they were on a schedule.
“We really should get going. It’s a long drive and we -” she was cut off by Jack bounding over to the TV and firing up the old VCR.
The screen lit up, showing what looked like their lab floor. The image was shaky, like whoever was operating the camera was still getting it adjusted.
“What are you doing with that old piece of crap,” a voice asked from offscreen. “If you want to record this, we could just use my phone.”
“This is more official, it’s a video camera. Plus, haven’t you ever heard those stories about how ghosts show up on film?” a female voice argued. It almost sounded like Danny’s friends, but what would they be doing with their camcorder?
“Guys, can we just get to the training session? I still have math homework to finish.” That was Danny so the other voices must be Sam and Tucker. Those three were rarely apart, but what sort of training session could Danny be talking about?
The picture bounced around some more and finally came up to eye level. Danny was fixed in the center of the frame with their lab equipment pushed back against the walls. Behind him, the portal stood open, the swirling green abyss contrasting starkly with the shiny metal of the rest of the room. They never left the blast doors open so why would the kids be messing with the portal? It was a dangerous piece of equipment. Both Danny and Jazz had never been banned from the lab, but they’d always taken every opportunity to talk about lab safety with them, including how to safely handle their weapons and equipment.
“Ok, I’m good to go,” Sam said from behind the camera. The TV screen whited out as though a bright light was shone directly into the camera lens. “Yikes. The camera did not like that.”
“What happened?” The picture started to clear and a silhouette slowly solidified out of the white light. Where Maddie expected to see her son standing in their lab, she saw a sight that chilled her to her bones. Danny Phantom was standing in their house where only a moment before her Danny had been. None of the kids seemed concerned despite the obvious danger and the recording kept going.
“You kinda broke the picture for a minute. It’s clearing up though,” Sam reassured, no hint of fear in her voice. “Tucker, are you ready with the targets?”
“Why am I always the one that gets shot at?” Tucker whined.
“You aren’t getting shot at, you’re setting up the targets that get shot at. If you’re still in the way when we get started, that’s on you,” Sam shot back.
“Come on guys, we don’t have all day. My parents will be back before too long. They can’t chase the Box Ghost all day.”
Maddie could only stare at the screen, unable to process what exactly was happening. Phantom was obviously talking about them, it was their lab after all. But why call them his parents? And where was Danny? She hadn’t seen or heard him since the camera malfunction. She glanced at Jack to see him sitting in stunned silence, mouth agape. Before she could ask him what was wrong, the squeak of their unoiled front door broke their trance.
“Mom, Dad, I’m home.”

Late Night Run
Tumblr media
I sat on the red swing, not swinging but just admiring the view of the dark, cloudy sky that was filled with the coldness of the moon.
I had lost track of time, but I knew it was past midnight, meaning that everyone had gone home for the night.
Originally, I had come here to read peacefully, but I easily got distracted and started into the abyss.
I closed the book in my hands, No Longer Human, a short book written by Osamu Dazai.
The book was well written, but it was based on the terrible life of the main character, Oba Yozo, who was clearly based on the author.
I wasn't a huge fan of Osamu's books, for his books weren't all that great, but it amazed me how well written they were for those times.
It was clear that the Japanese-author wasn't a complete great person—but no one would be after driving his wife to commit suicide.
I left the thought behind and started swinging myself on the red swing, making it make a CHINNN noise as it swung.
It had been a few minutes until I started hearing footsteps from behind me, making me stop in my action and look over my shoulder.
There stood a tall, male figure, who I quickly recognized.
"Changed your mind, yes?" I asked, whispering low, but loud enough for him to hear me in the dead silence.
He scoffed, "whatever you mean?"
I sighed and stood up, dropping the book that was no longer in my lap.
"Listen here, arsehole," I started, "if you think I will go, and handle your 'I hate you when I'm around others but I'll be friendly when alone with you' shit, then let me tell you otherwise."
He glared at you, only making you glare back at him, "I don't act in such stupid way, it's only you who goes around thinking we're friends."
You have to be kidding me.
"No idea what kind of drug you are on now, Hopper, but must I remind you that you were the one who kept acting all nice around me?"
He started stepping towards me, making me stand my ground and puff my chest as I huffed. He grabbed my arm, raising it over his head to make sure I was looking at him and nothing else.
Even if he was a major arsehole, I couldn't deny it, he was very good looking. I didn't know what exactly was the good looking part, if it was his gold, curly hair, or his crystal blue pale eyes, or was it maybe the way he didn't handle people's bullshit? I couldn't tell, and probably will never be able to.
"I'm not into some kind of drug, I know my place and I know when to stop. You are just hallucinating with this whole 'friendship' thing you've created in your mind."
I groaned, "I wouldn't imagine such things, you probably just messed around with my mind and decided to insert those thoughts into it."
"So you admit to thinking about it?" He smirked, I didn't even think about my words, and that was my mistake, but I didn't show it.
No way I'm letting an arsehole like him get to me.
"Oh please, you are putting words in my mouth! Would you just leave me the fuck alone once and for all?"
I turned around, bending over to grab my book and walk away, but before I could, Vance had pushed me down to the floor, making me scrape my hands and knees.
"JUST WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" I screamed at his, trying to get myself up before he kicked me back to the floor.
It was really no wonder the guy had no girlfriend, he was a major arsehole, and even if he did, she would have to be an idiot if she liked him for his angry personality.
If only he didn't have such an impulsive personality, then maybe, just maybe, girls wouldn't be afraid and would want to date him.
Just when I was about to scream at him again I saw the same ban that I knew screamed trouble, so I stayed silent. He must've noticed cause he turned the way I was looking at.
I noticed he stuffed slightly—almost as if he knew the same thing I did, but I didn't mention it, because I knew he would lash out on me.
I quickly got up and crouched down, going to the nearest bush to hide since I noticed the man wearing the hat hadn't noticed us just yet.
Vance did the same, crouching and trying to head to the nearest bust, but by then, the man had noticed him.
The pale guy rapidly got out of his ban, heading our way, and out of rush I grabbed Vance's hand and started backing away from the man slowly to show that we didn't want him near.
"Sorry if I frightened you," he stated, clearly noticing our overwhelmed figures, "but I couldn't help but wonder what two kids are doing out here at this hour and all alone."
He was slowly trying to get close to us, only to make us back away further from him.
He sighed, "I could take both of y'all home, I ain't a thread."
"He's clearly lying." Whispered Vance to me. The man, due to his age, not being able to hear us.
"We're fine, we are in any need for your help, sir." I spoke, trying my best to sound calm and polite without raising any eyebrows.
"I insist, please, I wouldn't want either of you getting hurt."
Me and Vance turned to look at each other, him shaking his head no.
"No, we're going now."
I sighed, having to agree with Vance in this one, whoever liked risking their life like this is crazy enough to be put into a mental institution.
The man was about to say something but Vance quickly ran, pulling me with him.
I had left my book behind, not even caring about it at the moment.
"He's clearly trying to get us both inside his ban." Vance yelled as we ran.
I was rather surprised, "But two in one? Is he trying to get caught?!"
"No fucking idea, and I don't wanna know!"
We could tell that the fucker was following us, because we heard the sound of a car nearing us, but clearly he was maintaining his distance and trying to be as silent as possible.
It was dead silent at night, so you could hear those who love to take late night walks. In this case, a late night run.
We had no fucking idea how long we had been running for, nor how many times we ran out of breaths and has to stop due to the pain in our feet, but we didn't completely stop running due to the danger we were in at the moment.
It wasn't until a few minutes later that the neighborhood Vance lived in came into view.
"Go, I'll get back home as safely as possible." I told him as we breathed heavily.
"Don't you dare die on me [L/N]." He said and nodded to me as he ran home, climbing his window to get inside.
It was clear that the boy didn't have a stable household, probably the reason for his anger, but one could never tell.
I didn't even want to think of it at the moment, I just wanted to get home safely and be able to breathe again.
I got to the neighborhood I lived in, but the demon had caught up to me by then.
I didn't even make it home.

Fairy's ( insectoid's ) We Don't Have an After Life !
🙂
The idea of an afterlife is purely alien shit from you eldrick creatures called human. <- and before you ask, No ! - I'm Not Acting, Nor am I Playing a Creature, I'm an Actual Hybrid of The Gray's ! - And, Yes, I'm Non Human !
I go through I I wrote this damn blog and gave all this data so I can help better inform the world but it basically did no good, no one listened no one pay attention everyone thought I was full of shit most people called me schizo but I swear to God everything I told is true I don't know how much longer Tumblr exists and I don't know how much longer my blog will exist at one time banned my ass, Fuck, could be banned tomorrow all of a sudden my information be gone again
Back, to the Point !
When I was with God, I agreed to be a part of his creation of that I agreed to be non-human as there are 99% of his creation are not human.
Link :
I remember being with God I remember a lot of shit with God and one of the things I agreed of God that kept telling God I wanted to be a fairy and God kept trying to correct me and kept saying you mean insectoid I said no I want to be a fairy and God said insectoid I showed God the fairies and God said insectoid Even louder
God had to force me to have the understanding cuz I just I guess I just couldn't fucking understand him I wasn't getting it, got force me to understand that fairies are insectoid's !
I swore Val in an oath to his creation then and I swear to forever be a fair in his creation God said that this is eternal and cannot be undone I agreed to God and God said you first have to show me a grandiose amount of love for this and yes God gave me the knowledge of English to speak to him
Apparently English is existed eons before Humanity came up with it
Cuz I spoke English in fairland ( hive world )before I was reborn
I'm on the earth because the grades want to conquer the Earth and they were forced into the hydro agenda I don't want to get into I want to talk about how fairies don't have an afterlife
. . .
You see you in fairies die we get reincarnated there's no other dimensions we go on to there's no other higher planes that we have in all achieved at once to go to fairies don't die and go to like an Elysian Fields or Heaven there's no Heaven For Fairies ( Insectoid's )
There is no heaven for us there is a hell but it's not like you'd understand it's more like a punishment around a torch around for sinning it's ruled by Titania, titanium is really everything that comes with Fairyland but she's not the only super goddess
There are many more on the far-long path that we have lost and we've lost contact with them there is so much to our hits where we need to repair but I don't think I'll Get it done because the Grey's, are a bunch of fuck UP's !
Long story short with fairies die there's no pearly gates for us, that's purely human alien bullshit that belongs to humans only it's only a human thing strictly a human Thing !
What Fairies get is, Fairies Get Reincarnated !
. . .
So just keep that in mind when somebody kills a ferry we go back to the high to be reincarnated from an egg or at this point live birth because the Grays and there's and the mantises and all their stupid fucking experiments fucked up the insectoid world so bad that they had to use alien DNA also known as Humanity to start creating hybrid insectoid hybrid so they can slowly make bug people again
😡
And that's the truth of the hybrid agenda it's not that the Grays or who are servants and they will they're basically psychic Frankensteins made by the mantises it's not that the mantises want to create are trying to turn us human quite the opposite they don't want us human
! And, We don't want to be human - 😡
The mantises are using the human DNA is kind of like a storage for the bug DNA that thus making it a hybrid so that next generation they become more bugged in the last So eventually turn into complete insectoids some way somehow
. . .
When a fairy dies we're just reincarnated that's all there is to it we don't go to heaven we can go to hell if we were sinful but hell is not permanent it can be permanent but it's not permanent
Hell is Extremely Different for an insectoid, how often is a place to wear the soles are destroyed, that was often a place where you are spiritually destroy but the place where souls go to be tortured for being bad fairies we're fucking up in the hive for fucking over the Fairyland for fucking over insect toys not to say these being competitive just fucking over the insectoid spirit and fucking over the nature of the hive
For breaking your oath to Fairyland or to God to be an insectoid
That's what it means to go to hell hell is also a place where titanium is popped up a couple of times where she's devoured Souls there in a non-loving way and there she destroys their souls where she digests them and converts them toxic shit
That is the last thing that sold will ever experience and that's always cease to exist at that point at that point she doesn't she doesn't even fucking use as nutrients she just converts all the toxins and all the poisons into literal Shit or Muk Cum
Long story short sorry line is an incredibly dark place and those Souls you chose God to become a fairy who went to God that they want to be a bug for eternity anything in God's creation you have to Forever support forever be that God damn thing for an eternity
Eternity is not a Trillion Year's Eternity is eternity That it has no fucking end attorney goes on so fucking long to God Coronas will die of old age and God's ( or Goddess ) Never Die ! ! ! ! !
And I still want to say that attorney is not long enough to be a fairy 🧚🏻‍♂️/🧚🏻‍♀️
Hell is not just for a place for the soul to be destroyed entirely it's also a place of grandiose torture and grandiose destruction for a soul it's supposed to a place where titanium is also goes to Super punish fairies super torture them also sometimes eat a part of their spirit that they'll never get back as punishment for fucking over Fairyland and when they leave hell they're cursed for hundreds of thousands if not sometimes millions of lifetimes and are just millions of years
Fairyland is a place you don't fuck around and when you're a fairy you truly are a fairy you give your mind body heart and soul to Fairyland also known as high world you are eternally an insectoid there's a lot of War on the bug world with a lot of fighting and a lot of sex and a lot of death a lot of chaos but ultimately the end of God damn day a bug is a bug and a bug is trying to support bug world you'll be reincarnated as a maggot over 100 trillion times and you'll die so many fucking more
There is so much Death in Fairyland you can't even conceive of it
That's a fucking truth, fairies don't have an afterlife when humans die they go to a different place when we die was sent back to this place we can go to the other dimensions if we want to but usually we just come back as we don't want to stay there we don't like it over there we don't like heaven we don't like the Elysian Fields we don't like other dimensions very much
And most of the time we fucking hate outside the hive
. . .
And quite a few insect or I just want to bathe in the sewer system, it almost all of us male ferries are eager to be too to mate with a female and become eaten by her purified by her spirit rebirth and the cycle grow the goddamn High get rough house play with a female eating all over again and start the cycle again all over and over and over
Ferry just want to live in Fairyland but we're not shy to grow The Hive on other planets Fairlane does not turn its nose up to the idea of conquering other worlds and converting them in the hive worlds The Hive is always consuming The Hive is always growing The Hive is Greedy The Hive is gluttonous and the hive with Wrathful ! ! !
A river of blood flows out of the door of the hive and bugs crawl out of it as well
A hive is always Growing, There's so much more to be knowing
If you invade a hive you'll never Get out alive

3.
Porto realised he’d been too long in the abyss. He looked up at the mountain range he lay under, at the salmon clouds lingering above it. His forehead struggled to return to a seated position and glanced to the right. Outside the wall-sized window, a raggedy wall-sized bird glitched and squawked at him. He dropped to his knees and his ankles floated back and up so that he revolved about. He looked back, upside down, at where he’d been sitting. The Cookham Skater sat there. He stood up, rolled into view, grinned sadistically at Porto, and then rolled off.
Last week Porto and Frou Frou entered Moonshine. Hearing about the org head’s distaste for yamboarding, they buried theirs sometime outside of town. They passed the bridge checkpoint leading in, all innocent, and walked to Jamma’s address. The whole journey, no sounds of boarding.
- I need ice block, Frou Frou said, but like ees bleak.
The pair now sat alone in Jamma’s mouldy flat, not her official location since she began her underground band of freedom fighters. The org head, the “big man”, banned yamboarding a few weeks earlier (they were also killing civilians). So a movement began. But Porto and Frou Frou had to prove themselves by debauching on substances that went beyond the capacity of the snitch. Jamma’s location being sensitive information.
- Why can’t we just ask her about the video? That’s why we’re here. Not some stupid freedoms, Porto said.
- It’s our responsibility as boarders to contribute, Frou Frou said, licking an ees bleak.
- You’ve been hiding by the beach… We should’ve kept the shock prod, Porto said.
- They would’ve taken it, Frou Frou said.
The buffoonish guy Jamma had guarding the door came in to leer at them. He looked like he was trying to critically assess how sauced they actually were, stupid grin on his face. Frou Frou rolled his head about and gurgled.
- When are you gonna let us see Jamma? Porto said.
- When you two prove yourselves, the guard said.
- Oh screw this, Porto said.
He stood up and started thwacking the guard. Frou Frou stopped miming and joined in. The guard complained and ran off. The pair ran dizzy through the same streets, through the bridge checkpoint, and back to the burial site. They dug with their hands, feeling the dirt in their pre-post-drug haze.
- Come on! Come on! Porto said.
They got near the bridge and jogged, leaping onto their boards to seek fear in the officers’ eyes. Porto waved the shock prod around his head and screamed as he blurred past families and traders. The officers nervously checked each other, unsure how to deal with these nutcases bringing good and honest passion to the confrontation. The pair cracked their boards so that they propelled over the checkpoint, Porto stabbing a shock prod into the ear of an officer as he went.
Porto and Frou Frou injected themselves into Moonshine. They could feel the distorted yelling and nervous beeps ranging all over the city, warning its inhabitants that something was coming. The pair blasted down the main street in need of trouble before the uppers wore off. Wet heat arced through their clothes. Land ships veered around them. Dejected citizens sat on pavements or stopped browsing storefronts to watch the scene. Porto gnashed his teeth and eyeballed the people, the birdlife, the solid buildings above them. As he watched, the building faces switched to large black video feeds. A collage of porky, cruel looking men appeared. They all glared out of the screen.
- Sons of the Five Hells begone, one said.
- Ripping and roaring and burning and boiling, one said.
- Yamboarding is for dweebs! One said.
- Oh I’ll get ya, oh I’ll get ya, one said.
And so on. The pair cackled and taunted the screens, barely thinking of the traffic at this point. They kept pushing until the street emptied and they heard a rumbling sound. Compact zoom-tanks turned a corner a few blocks in front and formed a barricade. The porky men laughed and bayed. Then a humongous mobile structure appeared. A towering screen lined with speakers and weapons sat on tank tracks that lumbered up behind the barricade. It projected the same depressing image as the buildings.
A bit much even for their state, the pair halted before the barricade.
- What do we do? Porto said.
- Take courage, and know that the Merry Anglers… Frou Frou said.
They both felt reassuring scrapes behind them. They looked back, where a ragtag group of boarders had formed. More poured in from the wreckages and shadows and sewers of the city. At the front stood a tall woman dressed in clothes so baggy that Porto forgot his imminent death. The big man…
- Big men? Porto thought.
The big man variously sneered, jeered, and spat at the gathering force. One of his faces inhaled deeply, and the structure exhaled its missiles. The zoom-tanks shot energy charges into the crowd. Everyone panicked and dashed around craters and epileptic lights. Frou Frou grabbed Porto by the collar and dragged him into an alleyway. Porto felt himself barge into a tall silhouette that waved them into a room. They followed a group down stairs and into a tunnel system, away from the shaking above.
Porto took a long glug of hard drink that left him retching. He sat among a pile of pillows with zany designs, in a party full of boarders. Frou Frou stood in another corner shouting doctrine at a tired teenager. Jamma, still baggy, but with a new hat, knelt down before Porto’s pillow castle.
- How are you feeling? Jamma said.
- Grand. I’m the master of my domain, Porto said.
- You’re probably coming down right now, Jamma said.
- From your shitty drugs, Porto said.
She laughed and shrugged.
- We’re gonna do more and then play Coward, Jamma said.

Sunday musings -
Bar the plot important infodumps - Claude’s infodump, Rhea’s infodump and Edel’s S-support - are children of the goddess ever mentionned anywhere?
They’re mentionned in the info bubbles when you click on the IO or her bros, or on phantoms.
Given how Rhea modified history, she could have banned any mention of the Goddess and her Children. After all, in the Book of Seiros, the Goddess came from above (space) and “breathed life to the world”. If she created everyone, everyone is, technically, a child of the goddess.
However, in the Forbidden Library, the monk who wrote his piece about relics surmises the children were involved with the relics - he knew children of the goddess, a specific race different from humans, existed? Who told him? Mole People? The Church itself - which would contradict its scriptures, unless this person wasn’t following the scriptures or the general “the goddess created everything” came after his research?
And yet, if Rhea really wanted to erase mentions of her brethrens, this person couldn’t have mentionned the goddess’s children. Also, it seems even odder, but Rhea didn’t destroy buildings where she and her people used to live. Zanado is off-limits for anyone who isn’t authorised by the Archbishop herself, and yet the ruins still stand. The Lords (Edel?) will note how different the architecture is from the rest of Fodlan. I’m not saying there’s a sign where it’s written “Cichol’s room - do not disturb” or “Welcome to Zanado, the village of the Children of the Goddess” but keeping ruins will obviously raise questions, who lived there, why did those people leave, where are they, etc etc.
In this tweet, someone posted pictures of Lake Teutates - with the background and all, without the fog. There’s a... giant castle with a lot of towers, lot of columns and arks.
When Linhardt asks Billy to hide the expedition to Edel and Hubert, he claims it’s because Lake Teutates is a place that concerns the Saints of the Church - is Lake Teutates just like Zanado, a religious site? But it’s not under the Church’s juridiction... Why and how is it tied to the Church? Indech apparently died after the war... But then, who built the castle, the temple and the arks? Did Indech wrote a sign “children of the goddess here, trespass and be prepared for the funniest game of your lives!”? And then, if this temple was retconned as “part of the Seiros faith” even if Indech built it after the war (he wouldn’t have built it during Nemesis’s era since it’s in the north - or he built it before Nemesis’s party to Zanado?), how could they retcon a similar temple in Sreng?
Rhea’s IO is a known entity in the Church, but Indech and Macuil’s alternate forms also have names, were they known in the Seiros myth too?
And then, Petra bursts the bubble saying people with green hair who can fly are stuff of legend in Brigid.
Still, even with all those clues (weird ruins + temple + legends about magic people) no one, bar Rhea, Edel and Claude, mention children of the Goddess. Is it because, despite everything, we do not learnt what the Church of Seiros actually preaches? Rhea completely erased any mention of her kin in her fake historia - but couldn’t bring herself to destroy her old home and her brother’s houses?
In a world where roaming demonic beasts are legion and giant animals are found on the streets, why is no one talking about Children of the Goddess? Are they a secret, a legend or just an oversight?

Lore, Beliefs and Customs in Rieze Maxia
A long time ago, I made a post on this topic. It was in dire need of a rewrite, and since this fits so well with the theme for Xillia Week's Day 1 (spirits/beliefs), I thought now was a good time to do it!
References used to write this post: in-game contents (cutscenes, NPC chatter...), Official World Guidance Book, Perfect Guide.
--
As a world that mostly revolves around spirits, it comes to no surprise that Rieze Maxia’s cults and legends are also heavily spirit-based. The countries of Rashugal and Auj Oule do not have an organized religion—rather, towns and regions have their own myths and traditions, some shared, some not.
This post will examine the various beliefs and customs of the Rieze Maxian people, with a few notes about Elympios when relevant.
Pre-Schism
In the distant past, people did not know of the spirits’ existence, and channeled instinctively. There were beliefs in spiritual entities, however, and there existed a language to communicate with spirits. Maxwell’s appearance eventually confirmed their existence, but the creation of the schism shortly after muddled things up.
Post-Schism Elympios
The Elympion population seems to be split between those who simply do not believe in spirits, and those who acknowledge their existence from a scientific viewpoint (usually in relation to spyrix issues or the otherworld reactor plan). Knowledge about Rieze Maxia was not widespread either—its existence appeared in old legends, but it remained unconfirmed for a long time.
Despite this more rational approach to spirit lore, some remnants of spirit lore remain in the tradition of middle names, which uses words from the special language mentioned above. Middle names are picked by parents carefully according to their meanings. For more details about names, see here.
X2 Exclusive—The Kresnik Clan and the Land of Canaan
While legends about spirits, Rieze Maxia etc were rare in Elympios, there was an exception: the Kresnik clan. In order to stand a chance in Origin’s Trial, they passed down a lot of the original lore surrounding the trial and the Land of Canaan from generation to generation, though they kept those secrets closely guarded.
Post-Schism Rieze Maxia
To ensure that the existence of Elympios and its spyrix would be lost to future generations, the first settlers of Rieze Maxia established strict rules that banned the mention of such topics. Thus, the confirmation of spirits’ existence was lost as well, and they returned to a status of legends. From there, many myths developed. The spirits’ existence was eventually confirmed again thanks to the scholar Howe (famous for his Egg Principle).
The Rieze Maxian Calendar
The Rieze Maxian calendar is heavily influenced by spirits. The four seasons are named after the Four Great Spirits, and each month and week is associated to an element. This is useful to know when elemental power is the strongest. For more details about the calendars, see here.
The weeks are each associated to a priestess, and it is not uncommon for parents to name their child a variation of the name of the priestess of their birth week. For example, Presa (named ‘Jill’ by her parents) was named after Julia, the priestess of Pluvia Rubra, which was the week of her birth.
Rashugal—Science over Faith
Spirit artes have become very developed in Rashugal. As a result, spirits are seen as an everyday part of life, and worship is thus less prevalent there.
On the other hand, Auj Oule is home to many traditions.
The Maxwell Faith
Maxwell is especially worshipped in Nia Khera, the first village established by the first settlers. The Maxwell faith and myths related to the creation of Rieze Maxia were passed down through the ages, and though the faith declined over time, many traditions remain. The dwindling faith was recently restored thanks to the advent of Maxwell,
A shrine dedicated to Maxwell stands on the outskirts of the village, and a family of shamans have been tending to it from generation to generation. Their last descendant, Ivar, became Milla Maxwell’s handmaid at a young age.
Altars hosting ‘temporal stones’ representing the Four Great Spirits were erected in the village. Those stones were excavated from the hallowmont, and were worshiped by the villagers. They can be used to summon the Four.
The Nia Khera Hallowmont is a sacred mountain near Nia Khera where it is said that souls and spirits gather. It also holds a special significance to Maxwell.
Efreet—The Patron of Warriors
As the Great Spirit of Fire, Efreet is revered by warriors, especially in the Xian Du area, which is home to the coliseum.
Undine—The Guide of Souls
As the Great Spirit of Water, Undine is often associated with the reincarnation myth (see below). It is said that she guides the souls of the dead on the river of souls.
Gnome—The Master of Harvest
As the Great Spirit of Earth, Gnome is the one people pray to for good harvest. Hamil even has a Gnome festival every year. As a thanks, Gnome makes sure their fruits are especially sweet.
Pluto—The Lord of the Abyss
As the Great Spirit of Eternity, Pluto used to be revered in the Xailen Woods Temple near Kanbalar. The temple is now abandoned, aside from twin shrine maidens who suspiciously do not seem to age. According to legends, the lord of the abyss was sealed in the temple by Maxwell a long time ago, and its worship died out afterward.
Those legends are true. Pluto was indeed sealed by Maxwell, but started undoing the seal over time. The shrine maidens are actually Pluto themself.
Kresnik The Sage
Kresnik the Sage was the one who listened to Maxwell’s warning and gathered followers to renounce spyrix usage. She and her followers were the first settlers of Rieze Maxia (note: in X2, her story is altered a little, and she no longer comes to live in Rieze Maxia herself).
In Rieze Maxia, she has become the subject of many legends:
In Rashugal: the six noble houses claim to be descendants of Kresnik’s six disciples.
In Auj Oule: the seven major tribes claim to be descendants of Kresnik’s seven sons.
Kresnik the Sage also comes up in the creation myth of Auj Oule.
Auj Oule’s Creation Myth—Kresnik and the Chimera
According to the legend, When Rieze Maxia was created, Kresnik the sage battled a legendary monster, the Chimera, which was so huge it blotted out the sky. When Kresnik stabbed the Chimera with her lance, its body fell to the ground and became the continent of Auj Oule.
Gaius’ bodyguards, the Chimeriad, are named after the Chimera. Each of their individual names represent a part of the Chimera.
The Myth of Reincarnation
According to the myth of reincarnation, the souls of the dead are carried by rivers to the hallowmont, where the souls are taken to the land of spirits to be reborn. For that reason, Undine is worshiped as the one who guides the passage of souls.
The Xian Du version of the myth says that only the souls of strong warriors enter the land of spirits, while the souls of losers sink to the bottom of the sea.
The myth of reincarnation is strong in Xian Du/the Kitarl clan, the Long Dau clan, and was also relayed to Elize by her parents.
In regions where the myth of reincarnation is strong, spirit worship is often closely tied to ancestor worship.
The myth of reincarnation is confirmed over the course of the game to be true. When a person dies, their soul enters the river of souls where they cleansed and their memories wiped out, then they are reborn as a spirit. It is part of the reincarnation cycle that rules Rieze Maxia.
Xillia 2 establishes new facts about the reincarnation cycle, but as they have no bearing on the people’s beliefs, they won’t be detailed here.
Prayer Pennants
It is a custom in the mountain clans of Auj Oule, especially Xian Du and Kanbalar, to hang a cloth banner called prayer pennant and make a wish.
Kanbalar’s prayer pennants are sewn with firethread, which prevents them from freezing.
The Xian Du Coliseum
The coliseum is considered a sacred ground. For that reason, it is only accessible by boat so that people purify themselves before stepping inside.
Prayer pennants in Xian Du are often hung with a wish for victory (or a loved one’s safe return).
In the Kitarl clan, it is a tradition to offer a gladiolus to a warrior fighting in the coliseum.
The coliseum was built in Trames 1800 (about 500 years before the game) and used to serve as a way to settle tribal dispute.
The Royal Hunting Grounds
Another sacred ground near Xian Du. They belong to the king of Auj Oule and are administrated by the Kitarl clan.
It was a tradition for clan leaders to hunt a monster in the Royal Hunting Grounds to receive an omen about the fate of their clan—the stronger the monster, the better the fortune. Many clan chiefs lost their lives in those hunting grounds.
Xian Du’s Stone Statues
The tradition to erect statues in honor of strong warriors started in Trames 1670 by a major tribe leader named Xiaman. This is another tradition tied to ancestor worship and the myth of reincarnation.
The Ghost Ship
In recent years, there are legends of a giant ghost ship roaming the sea, moving on its own without the help of spirit artes.
It is in fact the E.S.S. Zenethra, Exodus’ base. It must have been spotted a few times by a few dumbfounded sailors, giving birth to the legend.
There are probably many other legends, cults, and customs over Rieze Maxia (and Elympios, even though they might not be spirit-based). The world is vaster than what we can explore in-game, so there must be other villages and clans with their own traditions.

3 Times Afton Was an Idiot, and 1 Time Afton Admitted it
Throughout the years of working together, Henry has always decided that Will was the idiot between the two. William accidentally proves this 4 separate times throughout their business partnership, and actually admits it on the 4th time!
Yay! 1st FNAF fanfic in a month! Feels good to be writing William and Henry again. I missed these two.
Henry was trying to work on the inner workings of Foxy. He had just finished putting some wires through the head and spread them onto its shoulders. With the cords in place, Henry started taping them down to the endoskeleton.
He was so busy working on Foxy, that he barely noticed the presence of William walking up behind him with a Freddy Fazbear plush and a Bonnie plush.
Henry started connecting the cords together, when he felt two things hopping on his back. Henry lifted an eyebrow, but ignored it to try and plug the cords into the arm cords.
“Hey Freddy!” Bonnie (William with a high voice) said, shaking back and forth.
“Yes Bonnie?” Freddy (William with a low voice) replied.
“I’m very curious about those weird guys in that bright office. Who are they?” Bonnie asked.
Freddy bounced himself up to the top of Henry’s shoulder. “You don’t know? They created us! They created me, and you!” Freddy told the bonnie plush.
“Really?! I didn’t know that!” Bonnie reacted.
Henry blinked and stared into the abyss in slight annoyance. “William, what are you doing?” He asked.
Ignoring Henry’s question, William turned Freddy’s body around to Bonnie as if he had just heard the stupidest thing ever. “You...didn’t know...that Henry Emily and William Afton are our creators?” Freddy reacted.
William made Bonnie jump onto Henry’s other shoulder. “Well yeah, I knew that.” Bonnie replied. “But who are those people in the offices, making noises and ruining our speakers?” Bonnie asked.
Freddy looked at Bonnie with flat anger. William started shaking Freddy front and back in anger. “THOSE ARE HENRY EMILY AND WILLIAM AFTON, YOU NUMB NUT!” Freddy (William) shouted.
Henry waved the plushes off his shoulders. “Stop that! I’m trying to work!” Henry told him.
William only continued. “...He doesn’t like us…” Bonnie (high-pitched William) told Freddy.
“Why not?” Freddy Fazbear (deep-voiced William) asked.
“I don’t know. He sounds cranky.” Bonnie reacted.
William moved Freddy closer and closer to Henry’s face. Finally, Freddy shook back and forth a little. “Yeah, you’re right. He DOES look cranky!” Freddy replied.
“Alright, that’s enough. Showtime’s over, dumbass.” Henry ordered, taking the plushies from William and walking away from him.
Even without the plushies, William was still doing the voices. “NOOO! WILLIAM! HELP US! THE EVIL HENRY IS TAKING US AWAY!” Bonnie shouted.
“Let us go, fiend! You may have made us, but you know better than to kidnap your own creations!” Freddy yelled at Henry.
Henry turned around and yeeted both the plushes at William. William just laughed as both plushes bounced off his chest. “Ohohokahahay, ohokahay! I’m done! I’m done!” William laughed.
“You’re so annoying.” Henry told him.
William snorted a little and turned his voice into Bonnie’s again. “Wow! What an asshole!” William (Bonnie) declared.
William quickly ducked as an empty metal trash can was thrown at him next!
...Followed by a backpack.
[A Couple Weeks Later]
Henry and William were getting all the TV’s set up to display all the camera footage. They just finished getting the equipment in, and they were now connecting everything.
Well...More like Henry was. William had to be temporarily banned from touching the techy stuff because he kept messing up the cord placements.
At least he was being careful when bring the equipment into the place.
“One small question: Why is the security guard’s office way in the back?” William asked.
“Because we wanted the security guard completely separated from the kids activities.” Henry replied.
“Why couldn’t we put the office upstairs?” William asked.
Henry slowly turned to look at him. “...How many times have you been here, exactly?” Henry asked.
“The same amount of times as you.” William replied.
Henry plugged a cord into the machine without even looking, and stared at William in pure disbelief. “I’m surprised you’re not aware of this… but we have NO upstairs!” Henry told him.
“We don’t?” William clarified.
Henry pushed the front of William’s hat bill down. “Where would the upstairs be? Huh? There’s no hidden stairs.” Henry told him.
William fixed his hat. “But...I thought the vents might lead somewhere.” William offered, proving just how little common sense he’s developed over the years.
Henry wheezed and looked away. “Ihif you think the vents are gonna lead you somewhere, then you can go find out for yourself.” Henry joked.
William blinked a couple times, before smiling and grabbing a nearby step ladder.
Henry continued to plug in the cords on his own. He plugged a few of the cords into the 2nd TV to get it turned on, and then started to plug all the cameras into the two Beta recorders and plug that into the two TV’s. Soon, the video footage started showing up!
Henry slowly removed his hands from the technology in accomplishment. “Hey Will! Check it out, I got the cameras set up!” Henry declared.
Suddenly, Henry heard a metal clang that could’ve come from far away. Henry dropped his arms to his sides and widened his eyes.
He did not...Did he?!
Henry looked over to the left and right, trying to determine which vent he could’ve gone into. To find this out, Henry looked for the location of the step ladder. After a bit of walking around, Henry quickly found the step ladder set up under the left vent.
Wow...He really went and did it…
Henry folded up the step ladder and carried it with him while he walked the vents’ pathway. Halfway down the vent direction, Henry set up the step ladder. “Hey Will! You in here?” Henry asked before knocking on the vent.
“HEY HENRY! IMAGINE IF I DIED IN HERE! HOW LONG WOULD MY BODY GO UNFOUND?” William asked out of nowhere.
Henry widened his eyes. “I-...What?” Henry asked, knowing it was a joke, but still slightly worried.
Suddenly, a clanging sound was heard. Henry started running further down the hall, following the vent’s direction and looked around for an exit to the vent. But a couple seconds later, Henry watched as a vent door opened, and William came falling out of the vent with a loud shriek. William hit the floor with a loud splat, and Henry widened his eyes in surprise and horror. Holy CRAP!
Henry sprinted up to him. “Are you okay?!” Henry asked, staring at his best friend’s body.
William’s body was completely covered in vent dust, and the dust was STILL raining down from the vent screen he opened. William blinked in surprise. “Ow.” He muttered.
Henry couldn’t help himself: the man bursted out laughing at William’s stupidity! “Whyhyhy did you ACTUALLY climb in the vents?!” Henry asked.
William blinked and looked away, slightly flustered. “...Because I wanted to know if there was a secret door.” William replied.
Henry just laughed further and mentally thanked himself for getting the cameras plugged in and recording when he did.
[A few weeks later:]
Henry was cracking open a couple beers, and handed one of them to William. “A toast: to the success of Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria!” Henry declared.
“Cheers!” William and Henry both declared, clinging the noses of their beers together before taking a gulp out of their bottles.
Elizabeth huffed at her regular cup. “I want a glass bottle!” Elizabeth begged.
“Can I have one too?” Michael asked.
William just about choked on his beer. “Hohold up, what? No! This is big boy juice.” William told him.
“But I’m a big boy.” Michael argued.
“I can’t have it because I’m a girl?” Elizabeth asked.
Henry looked at William with a ‘look what you’ve done’ look on his face. “Big girls can have the juice too. But very big girls, who make good choices.” Henry told them both.
“I’m a big girl. I can make good choices.” Elizabeth argued.
Henry narrowed his eyes. Can she tho? Can she really?
Suddenly, William stood up and walked to the kitchen. “Tell you what: I can make it up to you.” William decided, before grabbing his empty beer collection off the high shelf. William pulled out a pair of smaller, high life beer bottles out of the collection and rinsed the bottles out good. Then, William grabbed some apple juice from the fridge, and dumped some apple juice into both the bottles. “There! Now you can enjoy having bottles too.” William told the kids, handing them the fake beers.
“Thank you Dad!” Michael said happily.
“Yay! Thanks Daddy!” Elizabeth declared happily.
“You’re welcome!” William replied.
Henry widened his eyes. “I...that’s smart..,but also so stupid! Will, your wife is going to be FURIOUS!” Henry yelled.
William scoffed and waved it off. “It’ll be fine when she tastes it.” William replied. “Besides: she knows I’m not stupid.” William told him.
Henry lifted an eyebrow. “Does she now?” Henry muttered to him.
“Yeah.” William replied.
“I’d beg to differ.” Henry mentioned.
“And why is that?” William asked.
“Because you’re actually a lot more stupid then you let on.” Henry argued.
William looked at Henry. “Rude.” He reacted.
“Not rude when it’s true.” Henry added.
Michael and Elizabeth were giggling while they watched.
“I’m surprised you never learned to keep your opinions to yourself.” William reacted.
“This isn’t an opinion. This is fact.” Henry shot back.
“Fact or opinion, you should be keeping it to yourself.” William told him.
Suddenly, the entire conversation came to a halt when William’s wife walked into the back door. William turned to Henry with a smirk. “Let’s let the woman in the house determine this.” William said proudly.
...William wound up getting himself into big trouble. He was yelled at later for ‘encouraging their children to be child alcoholics’, and wasn’t trusted alone with the kids for a week or so after that.
[A Couple Weeks Later:]
William was trying to fix a knot in the curtain rope while standing on a step ladder.
...Yyyyup! This wasn’t gonna go well.
It took the man another 10 minutes to get himself stuck to the curtain rope upside down. Exactly how did William end up getting himself stuck this way? Not even William knows.
“Henry? A little help?” William asked.
Henry was under the stage, setting up more chairs and tables for the bigger party population that was gonna come in a couple days. “ONE SECOND…” Henry yelled back.
William waited for Henry to come crawling out of there. And thankfully, he did! Henry crawled out from under the stage with a few more chairs and placed them down. “Okay. What’s going on Wi-” Henry wheezed and bursted out laughing at the hilarious sight in front of him:
William was hanging upside down by his foot in front of the curtain. “Uuuuh...Oh boy…” He muttered, feeling slightly awkward about the predicament.
“HOHOHOW DIHID YOU MANAGE THIS?!” Henry asked, just falling into even more laughter.
“I don’t know. I don’t think I even WANNA know. All I know is I want down.” William told him.
Henry nodded. “Okay, okay.” He said, rolling up his sleeves and working on getting him down.
“Hey William, I’m gonna need to remove your shoe to get you out.” Henry let him know.
“Okay.” William replied.
Henry removed William’s shoe and...as much as Henry wanted to help William out, Henry thought he’d be able to take advantage of the situation. So, Henry tightened the curtain’s hold on William, and started tickling his foot. William squealed! “WAIT! Hehehenry! Stahahap!” William giggled.
Henry paused and lifted his hand away for a second. “Why should I?” Henry asked, before resuming his tickling.
“HAhahaha! Nohohoho dohohohon’t! Lehehet mehehe gohohoho!” William giggled, wiggling around as he tried to kick him. But Henry grabbed his other free foot, removed the sock right away, and started tickling that one as well! “HEHEY! EEEEHEhehehehehe! Quihihihihihit thahahahat!” William ordered helplessly.
Henry chuckled deeply. “Not until you admit you’re the dumbass in this friendship.” Henry told him.
William looked up at Henry and blinked...That’s it? “Ihihi’m a duhuhumbahass. Yohohohou knohohow thihihihis ahahalreheady!” William told him through his laughter.
Henry guffawed! “Wow! That was quick!” Henry reacted. “But because that was too quick, I’m not gonna stop quite yet.” Henry decided.
“Whahahahat?! Whyhyhyhyhy?! Whahahat’s soho fuhuhun ahahabohout tihihicklihihing mehehehe?!” William asked him.
Henry stopped tickling the man and knelt down to William’s head. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s the fact that you snort when tickled hard enough? Maybe it’s the fact that your face goes all red anytime you’re receiving physical love? Maybe it’s even the fact that you’re super ticklish and that makes it fun!” Henry told him.
William looked away a little and blushed. Even just getting compliments could turn him into a tomato. “Rude.” William accused.
Henry lifted an eyebrow and smiled. “Cutie.” Henry retorted.
William immediately felt his blush increase. Not wanting this to happen, William pointed at Henry. “Rude.” William shot back.
“Cutie.” Henry just shot back.
William was taken back. He was really gonna start this, huh? Well, 2 can play that game! “Rude!” William told him again, poking his forehead.
Henry smirked and booped his nose. “Cutie.” He replied confidently.
Oh god no...Not the snoot boops too! How dare! “RuUuUuUude!” William whined.
“Cuuuutieeee.” Henry sing-songed.
William decided to finally get him back. “Not. cute.” William argued, poking his sides.
“Hehehey! Don’t be starting to turn this around on me!” Henry reacted, grabbing William’s arms.
William chuckled a little out of playfulness. “Ahand why shouldn’t I?” William asked.
“Because you’re a lot more ticklish than I am. That’s why.” Henry argued back. “And I’m not the one stuck upside down at the moment.” Henry added.
“And I’m not the one tickling the person upside down instead of getting them down.” William argued back.
“I’m not tickling you now, am I?” Henry clarified.
“No, but you’re being rude.” William argued back.
“How rude?” Henry asked.
William leaned in a little and whispered in his face. “All the rude.” He whispered.
“That’s it!” Henry finally let go of William and skittered his fingers on his ribs and sides.
“WahahAHAHAHAHA! HEHEHENRYHYHYHY! NOTTHERIBS! NOT THE RIHIHIHIBS!” William shouted through his laughter. His arms were right against his chest, pushing against Henry’s tickling fingers. They weren’t stopping him from tickling at all. If anything, they were encouraging Henry to tickle him more!
Henry moved his hands to his belly, and started squishing and squeezing. William threw his head back and just CACKLED! Henry was giggling and laughing alongside him. “Man! Your Mom must’ve had a BLAST tickling you!” Henry reacted. “Do your kids know how ticklish you are?” Henry asked him.
“YEHEHEHES! THEHEHEY TIHIHICKLE MEHEHE AHAHALL THEHEHEHE TIHIHIHIHIME!” William replied.
“Well I can see why! Your reactions are priceless!” Henry told him.
“IHIHIHI WAHAHANT DOHOHOHOWN PLEHEHEHEASE!” William asked politely, despite his ticklish conundrum.
Henry nodded his head. “Alright. I’ll let you down, Will.” Henry replied, standing back up.
William took a moment to get some air back into his lungs, and waited patiently for Henry to get him down. As he was undoing the curtain, however, Henry snuck a few tickles under his toes.
And would you believe it?! William snorted! Like, actually snorted!
Henry gasped and threw a fist into the air. “YES! I got a snort!” Henry shouted proudly.
William whined and covered his flustered face as he giggled immediately after. “Ehehehehevihihihil…” William muttered out loud.
Henry looked down at William and narrowed his eyes. “What did you just call me?!” Henry asked, crossing his arms.
William uncovered his eyes and looked up at Henry. “Ehehe...ehevil?” William replied awkwardly.
...It ended up taking a lot longer for William to get down.

i saw that you play genshin impact, so i’m kind of curious... what’d be the axis and allies’ vision and weapons?
Uh oh...now you got me started. Be warned, it’s a long one cause I have no self control
Some key terms for those who don’t play genshin impact and want to be included!!
Cryo -> ice, Hydro -> water, Dendro -> nature, Geo -> rock, Pyro -> fire, Electro -> lightning
Hilichurls: a common enemy found in the wild. Despite looking like hairy trolls, they have a district language as well as texts, art and song that they share together making them an advanced species!
Ruin guards: another enemy. Giant, scary robot...they scare me...
Knights of Favonious: an organization of knights within Mondstat that keep order and peace :) very nice guys and gals over there!!
Mondstat: modeled after Germany
Liyue: modeled after China
Alfred: pyro, claymore, Springvale Mondstat
Tumblr media
Alfred would be a super heavy hitter in battle but his drawbacks are that despite his energetic nature, he’s slower because of the weight of his weapon
He blows stuff up a lot and sets all of the grass around you on fire so if you fight with him...His teammates will take damage from him Jeez Louise!!!
Since we don’t have all of the nations of Teyvay unlocked, I don’t know where he’d be from! I’d have to explore to get a sense for it so for characters that don’t have a place on the map yet, I’ll mark them with an asterisk from now on! :)
Idk where he lives but I do know that he’d be a devoted member of the adventurers guild! He’s always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need! Wether it be helping Granny Ann make hash browns or taking comissions to go kill a huge ruin guard who’s terrorizing the town!! He’s always leaping into new jobs! He isn’t even in it for the money or rewards! He just loves helping out!
Arthur: Dendro, archer, Mondstat
Tumblr media
Artie is a beast in battle! Shooting vine Aries at enemies to tie them up or temporarily blind them??? Sick as fuck. Keep in mind, Genshin doesn’t have any Dendro characters that are playable yet so idk how they’d fight but I think I can guess :)
Artie is technically part of the knights of favonious because he works in their library. He translates books written in ancient texts into the standard language so historians and others can read what the old civilizations had to say
Instead of having normal eyes, they’re slit like snake eyes. And he has leaves instead of hair :)
He has a little seelie that floats around at his side. He talks to it but it doesn’t really do anything but provide company to a lonely guy :’) he needs more friends
Matthew: Anemo, catalyst, *
Tumblr media
It’s always good to have a catalyst on your team! Ningguang is a great example of an underestimated catalyst cause she can do INSANE damage man!! So I think Mattie would be the same way
Matt isn’t violent and doesn’t enjoy fighting so his in-game voice lines would say that lol
Mattie is an alchemist! Well...A student alchemist. He didn’t take up an interest in alchemy until like, 3 years ago so he’s got a lot to catch up on still! He’s doing his best!
He gets very annoyed with Alfred since Mattie is detail oriented and gentle...Alfred is not any of those things. But he still loves his brother and on rare occasions, he’ll assist him with his commissions
Ivan: Cryo, catalyst, Liyue(temporary)
Tumblr media
Ivan would be a support character for sure but he’d do a damn good job of doing it
He’s buff but he doesn’t do hand to hand combat, he’s mastered magic for a reason
Ivan spends most of his time studying hilichurls. He writes books about them, translates their texts and acts as a peace keeper when he can. He gets information from them about the Abyss Order in return for free reign of small portions of protected land where they can live without fear of being killed
Because he’s from Schneznya(spelling?) he’s kinda expected to be a bad guy but he left a long time ago. But he still sounds like he’s from there and...He’s super pale too so there really is no mistaking where he’s from
Ivan can’t stand how ignorant humans are towards hilichurls so he does everything he can to advocate for them. He’s covered in scars from when he first started engaging with the beasts. A huge scar runs down his face but he doesn’t mind it
He’s got big, sharp teeth!! So he doesn’t often smile cause he thinks he looks weird
Francis: Hyrdo, long sword, *
Tumblr media
Fran is underestimated when it comes to combat (like Kaeya...I see you slandering this man) but he has so much potential!
Since he’s a hydro, he is so useful for elemental reactions! If he’s paired with a cryo or pyro user, he’d totally boost them!!
Fran is a traveling entertainer, he goes between the 7 nations as a singer and actor for small stage plays. He has a crew of friends who travel with him, they’re one jolly bunch!
He always acts all nonchalant and stuff but once he’s in a battle, he’s wild. Especially if the abyss order holds up his crew on their way to their next tour destination “We need to be in Liyue Harbor in four hours you are NOT holding us back!” *tidal wave*
He’s a regular tavern hopper! A very recognizable face since he’s been banned from a handful for getting too rowdy
He can make not one, but 2 special dishes :0
Yao: Dendro, polearm, Liyue
Tumblr media
I just imagine him as a shorter, richer and cooler version of Zhongli
He’d do that kick move that Zhongli does with his polearm oh man that looks SICK dude!!!
Yao would shoot vines out and they’d strangle enemies for a few seconds before disintegrating but if he’s leveled up enough, they’ll totally strangle those stupid hillichurls lol
Yao sells rare gems and other miscellaneous items for very high prices in Liyue where he grew up. His shop is upstairs by the Fatui bank. Rich people enjoy looking at what his shop has to fifer and will argue prices with him. They’re getting scammed for sure. He’ll list a set of cor lapis earrings as $50,000 and the rich will be like ‘I’ll pay $25,000, no more than that’ and he’ll take it!!....Cause thise earrings are worth $5000 at most >:)
Hes close with a lot of the higher ups in Liyue and is often invited to fancy lunches or dinners where they discuss policy, contracts and vendor permits. He doesn’t really get a say in any of that but he benefits from listening
Kiku: Electro, claymore, *
Tumblr media
Kiku would be SUCH an awesome electo user are you KIDDING me??? I can see it now, him swinging that huge sword around, purple lightning bolts flying all around and he looks like a total badass? Amazing vibes
When paired with cryos???? He’d do an insane amount of damage fr
Kiku runs a small restaurant where he...runs the place...but doesn’t cook. His restaurant is extremely exclusive and people often throw fits when they can’t get in cause the wait list is over 5 years long. He’ll rest his hand on their shoulder and smile ‘is something wrong? I’d love to take a complaint if you have one’...No one has even dared to complain to his face lol
Behind the restaurant front he deals with the Fatui, buying and selling minerals or artifacts. That’s where his knowledge is at, not with food. He pays his staff to ignore what goes on behind the scenes and the locals are too busy enjoying the restaurant to question what goes on after dark
Gilbert: Pyro, long sword, Mondstat
Tumblr media
Gil would be one of the free characters given to you at the beginning of the game but hey, I’m not complaining
He’s highly destructive and very chaotic in battle, he can do that spin move even though that’s meant for claymore users
He’s Mondstat’s biggest trouble maker. He runs an underground gambling room that sits underneath a tavern. He isn’t really into gambling but he makes a lot of money by running it
The only knight who knows is Ludwig which is not good cause...Gil pretty much bribes his brother into not telling the knights of favonious (peace keepers of Mondstat)
Gil never got his gliding certificate cause he kept flying into buildings. He broke his nose doing that lol
Lovino: Pyro, catalyst, *
I can’t add anymore images so imagine a floating, red and black orb. Lovi doesn’t get a book catalyst cause he doesn’t read :) That’s the catalyst thing I’m talking about 😅😅
My guy has the angriest in game voice lines, he’s inconvenienced by every battle, every enemy is ugly and a fuckin disaster. He’s just. Angry.
He’d be a super weak character if he needed to rely on hand to hand combat but he learned magic for a reason babey
He owns a flower stand in his country and makes all kinds of beautiful flower arrangements. He even picks his own flowers in the fields when he can (but usually pays the town’s children to do it for him to ‘teach them the value of hard work’).
Everyone knows he’s a total hothead and will piss him off on purpose just cause it’s funny lmao. But then somehow...Their hair or clothes will just...catch on fire. So is it really worth it to tease him? :/
Feliciano: Hydro, archer, Mondstat(temporary)
Tumblr media
I feel like Feli would also be a free character, not cause he isn’t good or anything! But you always need an archer on your team!
Feli has healing properties for his team and doesn’t do an insane amount of damage but when given the right resources, he’d be a pretty sick healer
He moved to Mondstat to join the church there. He leads prayers in front of the church and sings in the choir inside.
He is the sweetest and has never committed a crime in his LIFE but he’s afraid of the knights lol he’s terrified that he’ll get in trouble and be kicked out of Mondstat forever! That would never happen but he’s a worry wart cause of his brother
Ludwig: Geo, long sword, Mondstat
Tumblr media
Lud is the only one that I could really think of as a Geo but Geos are awesome :)
He’s a hard hitter but has like...No shield so he’ll take damage fast if you don’t give him those artifacts with shield in them or whatever lol uhhhh I wouldn’t know anything about that cause I suck at building my teams ;-;
He’d totally be in with the knights of favonious! (I think that’s spelled right lol) but he’d take his duty as a knight very seriously!! He’s a familiar face around Mondstat, the elderly absolutely adore him and the local teenage girls swoon over him which he finds super embarrassing lol
He has to work hard to keep Gilbert in check cause even though Gil isn’t a knight, his actions reflect negatively back on Lud very often... :(
Please ignore the spelling errors and terrible photo cropping on my part lol this was so fun!!
By the time you’re seeing this, ive already made full outfit red sheets for everyone mentioned above!!!! :D

Imagine Severus catching you leave gifts on his desk
Word count: 1773
Tumblr media
- He thought it was a joke when gifts started appearing on hisoffice desk. Flowers, paper cranes, a new quill, small treats from Honeydukes.Potter no doubt following in his father’s footsteps. His first thought went toremoving 100 points from Gryffindor, giving that no good twit more detentionthan days left in the school year, but he had no proof, no viable evidence ofhis insubordination.
- Valentine’s day was justaround the corner and he was sure that little prankster was going to takeadvantage of the day’s events, so here he stood, in the dark, back against thewall, wand at the ready, waiting for his office door to swing open.
- The familiar click of hisdoor had him on full alert as someone stepped into his office, just as he’dsuspected. Acting quickly, he pointed his wand at the intruder, their anklesswinging high in the air, a thud echoing through the room when the box intendedto be left on his desk hit the ground. At last, caught in the act. No way outthis time, no excuses, no one to bail out the troublemaker.
- He was excited, ready tolaugh in the face of the idiot dumb enough to think playing with his emotionswas a fun way to pass the time. He was ready to give Potter or one of hisfriends years’ worth of detention, ready to sink Gryffindor so low they’d breaka school record for the first house to receive negative points. What he hadn’texpected, was to see the face of the recently appointed Muggle StudiesProfessor hanging upside down, face painted with shock and embarrassment when heturned the lights of his office on.
- You heaved for air when yousaw him step forward, staring into your eyes as you fought back tears. It hadtaken all the courage you had to leave him gifts, showing your interest in him,but to be caught like this, in such a vulnerable position, was so far pasthumiliating you wished you’d the ground would just open up and you’d be droppedinto the abyss, never to be seen again.
- “What is the meaning of this?” He huffed in a fitof rage. Had Minerva put you up to this? Did the staff send you here as revengefor Slytherin’s win against Hufflepuff last week? How unprofessional.Incompetent, ignorant, atrocious child. How such an insufferable Professor washired was beyond him, even if it was to teach such a mundane subject likeMuggle Studies.
- “You tell me,” you quicklyspat out, trying to hold your skirt that flopped down before gravity leftnothing to the imagination.
- Severus watched youfrantically pulling and struggling and finally registered what he’d done.Hanging a Professor, no matter how deserving, by their ankles was not anactivity he’d expected to partake in today. Though he should have realized whenhe’d set his trap, the possibility of the intruder being someone other thanPotter was present.
- “Explain yourself,” hedemanded as soon as you hit the ground, landing right on your hip. He couldfeel his face flushed red, though he wasn’t sure if it was out of pure rage orabsolute embarrassment from the position he’d put you in.
- You could feel the heatrising to your face, your cheeks burning, your mind foggy. Thoughts of escapingthe confrontation you were being forced to make right now flooded your head.Your chest heaved with air and though you hadn’t dared bring your gaze up fromthat spot on the floor your eyes seemed to now be fixated on, you could feelhis intimidating presence before you.
- You’d become a twelve yearold girl again, caught by a Professor after lights out where you didn’t belong.It took everything you could to mumble a stuttering apology, your wordstripping over one another as you tried to explain the situation best you couldwithout giving away your feelings towards the Potions Master entirely.
- He didn’t speak a single wordand you weren’t sure if he hated you for leaving all those gifts for him or ifhe found the thought of your interest in him preposterous. Or perhaps hissilence was his way of showing his disappointment in your lack ofprofessionalism. Either way you were glad he hadn’t stopped you when you pushedpast him and bolted out the door to hide in your chambers.
- Neither of you so much asglanced in the direction of one another the next few days. It was an awkwardsituation, one that had you up all night, unable to fall asleep from the embarrassmentyou felt that night. You’d thought about resigning but that’s not what aresponsible young woman would do and after what happened with Severus, you hadto come to your senses and start acting like the adult you were. It was astupid idea. Careless and childish. But you’d never felt this way about anyonebefore and he was just so much of an outsider at Hogwarts, you couldn’t helpbut want to spoil him a little.
- He was possibly the youngestProfessor to teach at Hogwarts, his coworkers all a generation ahead of himbefore you’d joined the staff. He was Head of Slytherin, a house hated by most.The gloomy Potions Master none of the children (except his own Slytherins)seemed to like. You hadn’t seen him teach of course, but the way some of thestudents talked, they made him sound bitter. Like life had taken one too manybites out of him. So, what harm would it have been to try and cheer up yourcoworker with some harmless gifts. Apparently quite a lot.
- Severus had to admit, when hesaw you hanging upside down in his office, the last excuse he’d expected you touse for your uninvited visits was your interest in him whether it be platonicor not. He wasn’t exactly one to invite friendship, he’d in fact had quite thetrack record for pushing people away. The logical thing to do was to assumeyou’d lied and that he did. But it didn’t stop him from letting you leave hisoffice, his questions unanswered, your explanation broken in so many pieces, hewas sure not even you wouldn’t be able to put them together. It didn’t stop himfrom missing the gifts he’d received each week from you. All them now goneexcept the box of chocolate frogs you’d intended for him on Valentine’sday. It wasn’t his fault, he’d tell himself. If he’d known they were fromyou perhaps he’d have kept them rather than vanish them from sight.
- Weeks would go by and thoughthe air seemed to have thinned just a little, neither of you would dare look ateach other one second longer than you had to. The guilt had started to seepinto Severus’ chest. The way he trapped you, shouted at you, he was so busyjudging your own pretenses, he’d neglected to assess the way he’d treated thesituation.
- It was too much for him tohandle. He had to find you and try and make things right, at least from hisend.
- You’d find Severus corner youone day after a staff meeting, your feet dragging you back to your chambers asusual, trying to avoid any unnecessary time around the man who reminded you ofthe most embarrassing moment of your life, you’d neglected to notice his swiftmovements as he passed you in the corridor, abruptly stopping in front ofyou.
- He’d quickly apologize fortrapping you the way he did and say he’d never meant to do such a thing to you,that he’d assumed it was a student pulling a prank on him.
- When he’d motion to leave,you’d stand there silently, in awe as he passed you by. Finally registering hiswords, your mouth jumped at the opportunity to make amends, “I’m the onewho should apologize,” you’d say.
- Severus would stop in hispath and slowly turn back to face you, waiting for you to explain. “Ididn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. It was the last thing I wanted to do. Ijust…” Your words always lost on you when you wanted to voice your emotions.You still couldn’t do it. After everything that’s happened, you still couldn’ttell him how you felt. “Let me make it up to you,” you’d suddenly burstout, “Come to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow and I’ll buy you a butterbeer.”
- It was quite the offer you’dmade him. He hadn’t been to the little village for leisure since the day he’dbeen banned from the Hog’s Head. He’d never imagined himself going back there,enjoying a drink at the Three Broomsticks or browsing for sweets at Honeydukes.But he agreed. You were quite the breath of fresh air, one he knew he needed.It was a blessing to have someone treat him so kindly, a feeling he hadn’t feltsince Lily had stood up for him in his fifth year.
- Your first date. It went muchsmoother than the last time you’d spoken. No one was hung upside down, no onewas on the verge of bursting into a fit of rage and you were both quite contentwith one another’s company. It turned out that when put into a less pressuringsituation, you both got along quite well. You had much more in common than hewould have thought, and you’d actually managed to hear him laugh. A properlaugh, not one of the snarky chuckles he’d give when undermining a student, notone of the huffs of air he’d give when looking down on someone. An actual,genuine laugh.
- You’d spend more time in hischambers than your own, ultimately resulting in his request for a roomexpansion the following year. The cold of the dungeon shivering your skin witha feeling of home.
- Random gift exchanging becamea norm for you both. You’d wake up to find little notes on your bedside tableif he had an early class. He’d head to his office to grade papers after dinner andfind a paper crane made from the note he’d left you that morning sitting on hisdesk. Picking it up, he’d admire your folding technique, loving how much careyou’d put into such a simple thing before opening his desk drawer to place itwith the thousand others you’d made for him.

Soul Bound Chapter 2: Confrontations
Amity gripped at the hem of her tunic and felt her shoulders stiffen and grow colder in the presence of her mother. Odalia stared down at the green-haired witch whose eyes flitted away from her gaze.
Amity’s breath started to quicken as her chest grew tighter and her heart pounded harder and harder almost as if it were about to burst out of her body, wanting to leave the entire situation altogether. Her eyes landed on the piano and it’s deep violet veneer, focusing on the torn pieces of pink paper that laid on the small music stand, its writing as clear as day for anyone to read as long as they didn’t have to squint to see further to begin with. She cursed under her breath, but didn’t move her lips as so her mother wouldn’t see her saying anything and -.
“Could you speak up, darling? I didn’t quite catch that?” Odalia leaned in towards her daughter’s face so closely that you could see every follicle in her dark green hair. “You know how much I don’t like something to be kept from me. You know I’m always here to talk.”
If talk, do you mean pry the words out of my mouth with a sharpened stick?
“I was just looking over the old thing. I don’t think we have that much use for it anymore besides having another decorative piece that does nothing for the manor unless we have someone to play it.” She lied through her teeth as she slowly reached for the note, attempting to disguise her intent as a long stretch in her arms. Odalia grabbed hold of the arm and pinned it down to her side. Amity tensed up again, her heart pounding even faster than before as she felt the air around her growing thin. Her mother studied her face for any trace of deception. Amity locked eyes with her, daring herself not to take another glance at the note.
Don't look at it; your mother can ruin all of this for you. She will see the note, she will force Luz to be banned from Hexside; she will take her away from me.
Her thoughts spiraled further into the recesses of her mind until she found that she couldn’t control her impulses anymore. Her eyes flicked over to the note on the stand and Amity couldn’t do a thing to move any part of her body. Her mouth hung open. Her body grew as stiff as a fencepost. Only shallow breaths escaped her, the one part of her body that was keeping her alive at this moment.
Odalia’s eyes followed Amity’s over to the note. She looked over to the dissociative witch and asked her coyly as she held the torn pieces of paper in her hands. “Is this what you were trying to hide from me, darling?” She ran a hand over her daughter’s cheek, causing Amity’s body to shudder. In the deepest parts of her consciousness, she could feel the chilling touch brushing across her face. Odalia looked down at the note and read each piece of it under her breath.
Luz,
Will you go to Grom with me?
Amity
It was such a simple letter, although it didn’t tell her much. Her gaze flitted upward to meet her daughter’s distant eyes.
“So why were you hiding this?”
No answer. Amity’s mouth opened, but only air escaped her lips.
“Were you embarrassed that this person rejected you? Or did The Fear Bringer tear the note for you? And in that case, why must you even hide anything from your dear old mother?”
No answer.
“It’s disgusting to even think about. You answer me this moment Amity Blight!”
Amity shuddered in her attempt to break free. To explain herself. To show an indication to her mother that she was even listening. Her body felt distant from her mind as her consciousness swam in the dark abyss that is the recesses of her mind. She reached out, but nothing would connect. No answer.
“Fine, young lady.” Odalia let out a deep sigh filled to the brim with her impatience. It felt like a blazing inferno as it grazed across the young witch’s face. “You leave me no choice. I’ll have to take the answers by force”
She gave her finger a twirl, tracing a glowing purple spell circle in the air. She reached her hand through and it started radiating with the magic that she produced. Amity’s consciousness reached out to connect with her body, trying to tell her mother anything. Anything at all that could explain herself. She was afraid of what was to happen next.
Odalia’s hand gripped Amity’s forehead as her mind filled with a blinding light.
~~~
The abomination hybrid threw another swing at the human only to slam on the ground next to her, barely grazing her cheek as it cut through the surface of her skin. She scrambled to her feet as she trudged off into the deepening red of the forest. She had to get to Eda. Lilith. Anybody within that general direction she could get to. All the while, the only thing running through her head was:
Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!
She turned back to find the massive mangled tree and the abominations professor riding not too far behind. Almade was standing atop the nape of the abomination’s neck as he gripped onto the many branches that stuck out of the creature’s head. Luz dug into her pocket for another glyph, hoping that whatever she found inside wasn’t crumpled or ruined. She managed to thankfully pull out one that was slightly crumpled, but the glyph itself was still intact. She let out a loud cheer and slammed it on the ground behind her.
As she turned back and ran, the ice shard shot out and pierced through the creature’s abdomen.
Please slow down.
Almade snapped at the abomination and stared at the creature wordlessly, his eyes jumping between the abomination and the human girl that was running through the woods. The creature groaned and crackled as he raised his hand raised to grab him. The professor leaped into his hand and the abomination’s fingers closed around him. He fixated on the direction of his target and took in a breath.
Almade whistled at the abomination as the creature threw his arm out like a trebuchet and let go of the professor at the peak of its arc. The man flew outwards towards the girl at an alarming speed. He took out of his cloak pocket a square piece of paper, its writing glinting a shade of gold in the setting sun. Before he could even make a move, Luz slammed another glyph on the ground without thinking. The ground burst from under her, sending a flurry of vines her way, scooping her up and carrying her closer towards her destination.
Almade placed the glyph on his shoulder as he landed on it atop the vines. The glyph illuminated and sent the entire ground convulsing as a shockwave burst out in all directions. The vines lost control and with them, they lost control of Luz.
The human flew into the air as she looked for a safe spot to land. Trees? Mud? Leaves! She aimed for the pile that a tree had shed quite a lot of and curled her legs up into her chest. She tried leaning into them, but to no avail. The human landed hard into the mud right beside it and tumbled. She flailed her arms about, the adrenaline coursing through her numbing the pain that was certainly spread across from her tailbone to her left hip. She righted herself and continued running with a limp, fumbling around in her satchel for another glyph that hopefully wasn’t ruined.
Crumpled. Torn. Smudged by a book spine. Dammit! She didn’t linger on her shortcomings as she looked ahead into the nearest clearing and found the familiar gray of the stone turret above the tree line as she saw the rest of her salvation in the distance. She tried to cry out, but a shot of pain in her ribs stopped her as she took in a breath. She winced in agony, but she still trudged on. She needed to get there before he did.
Luz coughed as she tried to clear her heaving chest from the pain that stabbed her lung. She bit her lip to numb the sharp sensation she felt. She took in another breath before she cried out the name of her mentor.
“EDA!!!”
The corners of Luz’s vision went dark as she focused only on what was in front of her. The turret, the indigo shingles that lined the roof, the massive, round stained glass window formed in the shape of a cat’s eye. Hooty stirred at the sound of Luz’s voice and let out an inquiring hoot. His eyes shot open to see the sight of the human girl with her brown skin torn, her black hair pierced with twigs and various leaves and mud saturating her left side, leaving was once already short and messy matted to the side of her face which the house demon, as oblivious to emotions as he was, read as absolute horror.
Hooty stretched out of the porthole that was his resting place and darted towards Luz, catching her in a coil as her consciousness faded away.
~~~
“What is this?”
“That is none of your concern.”
“Where are we?”
“NONE of your CONCERN!”
“What have you done to me?”
“Amity Blight, if I have to repeat myself one more time, I swear to the Titan, I will make this much harder than this needs to be.”
Amity opened her eyes to see nothing but an absolute white. A white light consumed her vision in every direction imaginable. Questions raced through her head as she looked around and still found nothing but the bright everlasting abyss that surrounded her. Her chest tightened again, her mind growing fuzzy. Then it clicked. She remembered seeing something like this before. She remembered a place like this that she visited with Luz. She even remembered being here once before. She took a deep breath as everything around her finally sank in.
The sound of wood creaking echoed in her pointed ears as a floor materialized around her. A lavender rug unraveled and spread itself out into the abyss as the room built its own walls. Picture frames materialized along the everlasting corridor in between marbled columns that sectioned off the walls before turning in on themselves, leading into yet another corridor. As the room finally built up the glass ceiling, showing a twilight sky, she finally knew for sure where she was. She was inside her own head. It was just like Willow’s, but different. It was suited to her. It was just like when she and Luz went in her mind to fix her memories. Her heart sank as she remembered. It was just like when they went in Willow’s mind to fix the memories that Amity burned.
How could she be so stupid and selfish? What kind of a monster would you have to be to risk burning the memories that you shared with someone you cared about? What kind of a monster would you have to be to burn the memories that you shared with your former best friend? Why is Willow ever even giving her a chance after she fixed a mistake that she made? Why is Willow giving her a chance after she hurt someone she cared about for what? The more the thoughts raced through her head, the more she teared up. The more she teared up, the more she beat herself up. The more she beat herself up, the more one thought raised in her head over and over again.
Am I a disappointment? Why do they even try to forgive me? I can’t even be perfect for my own parents. What makes it that I can be better for you?
Odalia fizzled into view of her daughter. She stared intently at her progeny with a deep grimace washed across her face. Amity opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, her mother twirled her finger and took the breath out of her voice. She coughed and gasped for air as she locked eyes with her. Her golden eyes peered straight into hers. She bowed as if she was presenting to royalty and Odalia spoke.
“You are keeping secrets from your mother and you know it, Amity. What is the meaning of the note? Why are you hiding this from me? WHY DID YOU DRAG ME HERE AND FORCE ME TO BREAK THE LAW JUST SO I CAN GET SOME CLOSURE FROM MY DAUGHTER! IS THAT HOW YOU WANT ME TO BE, A CRIMINAL? I COULD GET EXCOMMUNICATED FROM THE COVEN FOR THIS; DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING?”
Tears raced down Amity’s cheeks and she crumpled on the floor in front of her mother. Odalia’s nose wrinkled in disgust.
“You are a Blight; you are much stronger than this! Now get up and answer your mother!”
Amity looked up at Odalia and opened her mouth. Breaths hiccupped in and out of her as she choked through her tears. Her mother’s expression softened as she caressed her bawling mess.
“Shh. Shh. It’s alright, dear. Mother has you, there’s nothing to fear.” She cooed into her daughter’s ear as she gave her an embrace that washed over Amity like ice over cold steel. She remained stiff for quite some time and hiccupped through her sobs before giving in to her mother’s grasp and letting out a shaky sigh.
Odalia pulled away from her and scowled. “Now, let’s try this again. What is that note about?”
“I can’t tell you.” Amity mumbled under her breath.
Odalia gritted her teeth and sighed through her frustration. “I’m going to need you to speak up, dear. You know mother can’t understand a word you say sometimes.”
“I said I can’t tell you, Mother.” The Blight let out the last word with such a bite that even the older witch was impressed with the audacity that came from those words. There was a fire in her eyes that threatened her. No. It dared her to try and yell at her again.
“I apologize for making you feel like you can’t talk to me. And here I thought we had such a connection.” The older witch said this with a mocking pout on her face. She placed a hand on her pouf of teal colored hair and took in a deep breath as she twirled her finger again. “But, you left me no choice but to do this.”
A dark purple light surged throughout the corridor as Amity screamed. A ripping pain tore through her skull as portraits that represented her various memories flew in front of her, spiraling around both her and her mother until it landed on her. Luz. She stared directly into the outfit that the human picked out for Grom. The snazzy tux and the pink tutu that puffed out always made the green haired witch smile with how silly it was, but how nice she looked in it when she looked at it, but she couldn’t look back fondly now.
Odalia made a flick of her wrist and the portrait grew in size before flying towards the direction of the two witches, enveloping them whole.
Amity was reliving that night all over again. She was racing through the woods, chasing after Grometheus, under the guise of Luz’s mother, but distorted. The top half was all the same, but everything underneath was horrifying. Blobs of black ichor formed into multiple limbs that carried the massive body of the lower half of the creature. It was her fault that she let it get this bad. It was her fight and she just let Luz take it like that. She just had to subjugate her crush to her biggest fear and that was to be scolded by her mom because she lied to her.
Whatever it was about, it didn’t really concern Amity. All she knew was that it was much worse than what the human was telling her about before. It really was just like Luz to lie to herself about all this just so she didn’t have to think about it. She always was the one with the better outlook on life anyway. It would just be easier for her to just lock it away as if it really solved anything.
Grometheus trailed after Luz through the moonlit forest and Amity followed. She darted through the trees and reached out to grab the monster that was in front of her only to be smacked in the gut by a tree branch the creature had bent out of its way. She flew across the clearing only to be caught by an abomination she summoned.
The witch cursed under her breath as she struggled to lift herself to her feet. She heard some commotion going on the other side of the dense foliage in front of her, but the wind in her breath had been taken right out. She saw a flash of light and a deafening roar that she assumed could have either been Luz or Eda who came out to rescue her. She got her bearings and lifted herself up to her feet, determined to face the monster. She thumbed over the note in her pocket as she took in a deep breath before rushing out of the thicket and out to the edge of the tree line, standing over a massive cliff that overlooked the boiling seas. She saw Luz and immediately raced towards her, sliding in between her crush and the snarling beast that glared directly at its prey.
“Stay away from her!”
The Fear Bringer’s many eyes stared directly at the witch who dared to stand between it and its awaiting target. It bellowed another bloodcurdling screech as it sent a pseudopod racing towards her, enveloping Amity in its slimy grasp. She felt herself being lifted into the air. Her chest tightened again and her heart raced, looking for anything comforting that her eyes could land on. Anything at all that could help her bear what might come next, until her eyes landed on Luz.
Luz, she was the one who tried to befriend her when she did absolutely nothing but bully her just to satisfy her place in the hierarchy and her name as a Blight. She was the one who was there for her through thick and thin and did absolutely everything she could to help her whenever she was down. She helped her mend her friendship with Willow. Every time she saw her face, all she could see or think of was Luz, her little light. And she let her fight a battle that was never meant for her.
“I’m sorry, Luz.” Amity cried out to her, “I should have fought my own battle. I-“
It was too late to say anything else. A scorching heat pulsed through Amity’s body as she felt her own subconscious drifting away. She was feeling the same way now that her mother is also tapping into her own fears about her. Amity’s body grew limp as the blinding white light overtook her and the purple room rebuilt itself again, only this time, with Grometheus at the forefront. Its grip on Amity was so tight that she felt like she couldn’t move an inch away from her body. She watched as The Fear Bringer slunk into all of the portraits that lined the room. All the memories she made before, until it stopped on one memory for her; the one where she made her various attempts to write the note in her hideout. Amity struggled, but it was no use.
Grometheus slinked over to another memory. One that was recent. It was the memory where Amity saw Luz in her Grom outfit for the first time. Her hair slicked back and everything. The monster touched on the portrait and a light began to unravel around its arm. A brown skinned hand; the sleeve of the jacket she wore. Grom looked exactly like Luz.
Amity’s vision came to as she was back on the ground, not surrounded by any walls or pictures of memories that she made in the past. A hand was firmly placed on her shoulder. She looked up at Grometheus, who barely resembled the human at all, instead just a basic silhouette, hair and all. She looked down as the creature reached inside her pocket and took out the note. Its unblinking eyes bore directly into her soul as it took the note in both hands and tore it in one swift movement before crumpling them up and dropping them on the ground. Amity looked down in shame and stared at one of the pieces that she could still read through the many folds of paper.
Luz
She picked up the piece of paper and hugged it close to her chest, trying her best to hold back tears. She heard the sound of footsteps approaching her and the crinkling of paper as the human unfolded the other half of the note.
“You were afraid of being rejected?”
Amity opened her eyes to see Luz reaching out her hand and giving her a soft smile. The witch’s heart couldn’t help but melt at the sight of it.
“Amity, it’s okay. What if I went to Grom with you instead?”
Amity cracked a smile as she stuffed her half of the note back inside her pocket before she took the hand that Luz offered. “Really?”
The human beamed. “That’s what friends do!”
Grometheus bubbled and roiled before letting out another characteristic bloodcurdling roar. The Fear Bringer has reformed into its true hulking nightmare of bile and ichor. Amity put on a smirk as her gaze bore into the beast.
“Well, then, if that’s settled,” she turned to Luz and extended her hand out to her, “May I have this dance?”
Amity could remember it all happening so quickly. The heat brushing her face as blood pumped into her cheeks and the rhythm pounding in her pointed ears. Amity drew a spell circle on the ground with her feet and they stood there as she summoned a massive abomination from under them. Luz smirked as she flashed the deck of glyph cards in her smug face. Amity brought her in for a dip as the human slapped the card on top of the abomination’s forehead which leaned in, preparing for a leap into The Fear Bringer’s gaping maw. They jumped off as it dove in and Grom swallowed it whole. Green light burst from it as it bubbled and contorted before a massive tree exploded from the very belly of the beast. Its beauty among chaos shone throughout the rest of the forest. Tiaras formed on the tops of both of their heads and they stared at each other smiling.
“Soooo.” Luz asked coyly. “Who did ya wanna ask out?”
“Oh! It’s- It’s not important.” The green haired witch blushed as she dug the note out of her pocket and threw it over her shoulder. Odalia watched as the paper unraveled right in front of her.
She loomed over her daughter and placed a thin, cold hand on her shoulder. The shock forced Amity to jerk in the direction of the only monster she ever really sees anymore. The pale and narrow face of Odalia Blight was the one that always put on the mask of a kind and gentle mother.
“Embarrassing isn’t it?” The older witch scoffed at the display before her. “You couldn’t even ask a lower creature out to dance with you out of fear of rejection? You, Amity?”
She scowled at her mother. “Her name is Luz and she just so happens to be one of the nicest people I have ever met! And… one of the best friends I’ve ever had.”
“You watch your tone of voice with me, young lady! I would have expected weakness from you, but to go off and not only make friends with this human, this INDECENT THUG of a CREATURE? Blights do not squabble!”
“THEN MAYBE I DON’T WANT TO BE A BLIGHT!”
Odalia’s eyes widened as she stared in awe at her daughter.
How could she say that?
How dare she say that to me?
“You and Dad have always pressured me into being your perfect little child.” Amity choked as teared welled up in her eyes. “You always said it was what’s best for me and that what I was doing was what was best for my future.”
Her gaze lay fixed on this woman who did nothing but hurt her this entire time. What she felt was something new towards her mother. No. It wasn’t new. It was always there, just bubbling under the surface in the subconscious depths of her mind. A purple fire enveloped her as it grew closer and closer to the surface. It was pain. It was embarrassment.
It was anger. A rage had encapsulated Amity Blight. And her sights were set on the one who abused her this entire time.
“You don’t KNOW what’s best for my future! All you have ever cared about was yourself! All you cared about was yours and Dad’s Titan-Damned reputation. Have you even considered the pain that you inflicted on me? Have you ever noticed the pain that you inflicted on Edric and Emira as you pit me against them just to win your affections? You’re our Mother! You are supposed to be supportive in whatever we want to do for ourselves, even if we make mistakes.”
The fire fizzled out around her. She stared into her mother’s wide, unblinking eyes.
“But you were never that to begin with.”
The white light flushed over the scene again, sending Odalia back into the music room where she was before with her hair ruffled and stands hanging out of her bun. She stared at her unconscious daughter and gritted her teeth at that disappointment of a child. She rose from the floor and fixed her broken demeanor. She clapped twice and a servant came to her call.
“Yes, Madam Blight? Is there anything that we can do for you?”
“Yes, Jackson, send Miss Amity up to her room, will you? She fell quite ill, you see, after being up from recovery. I think the pain came back from a rushed spell and knocked her unconscious. Could you and the other servants perhaps put her in her room?”
She glared at the servant intently. “And make sure that she doesn’t leave until she is completely recovered. I’ll be sure to give you a bonus if you get this task done exactly as I say.”
Edward Jackson looked at Odalia curiously. Why would she offer me a bonus for something so simple? Is there something going on?
“Of course, Madam, I’ll do as you have assigned. Though, if I may inquire, is there anything on your mind? You seem quite troubled, Ma’am.”
“I’ll be alright. I just need to see the Emperor again today is all. I need to tell him something important.”
The human has taken the heart of my child. How can I use that to benefit the Emperor? She is needed to help open the portal. Despite the whole thing being a wild theory of the Emperor’s, it’s still worth a shot.
She looked at the unconscious face of her daughter. Amity, she was the one who was so close to being the perfect Blight heir. The one who would carry on the legacy of her father. A thought occurred to her.
I need to call Robert Almade.
~~~
Eda was lying on her couch again, staring up at the intricate carvings that line the ceiling of house’s foyer. She groaned as she rolled over on her side towards the back of the couch, where King, the diminutive demon was sitting atop the crest. He moved in an attempt to get comfortable. The couch was never the softest thing to sleep on, but it was one of the best places to keep his outer skull warm. Eda jerked around, trying to settle in for her nap, nudging the backing of the couch and King was having absolutely none of it. Eda could have sworn that she heard her name being called out and started to stir. King went to pounce off the couch to find another suitable place in the living room to take his nap. As he started lunging outwards, the door suddenly swung open and a familiar horrific voice pierced through the room.
“Um, Hoot! You guys gotta see what I’ve got out here!”
The sudden appearance of Hooty threw King off balance and he landed paws first on Eda’s side. If she wasn’t woken up by the house demon barging in on her nap, she was surely awake from the sharp pain that accompanied King’s landing.
“Ow! For Titan’s sake, King! I swear I’m gonna-“
She couldn’t finish her sentence as she saw the horrific image in front of her. Hooty carried the torn up human into the Owl House, the mud that was caked around her seeping onto parts of Hooty’s feathery, snakelike body. The Owl Lady threw King off of her side and scrambled off the couch to see her kid. She cursed under her breath repeatedly before giving Hooty a look, concern spread across her face.
“Do you know what happened, Hooty?”
“Well, she only walked in like this aaaand she was having trouble breathing aaaaand she looked like she went through a lot of leaves. OOH A LEAF!”
Eda grabbed the house demon by the beak to stop him from pecking a leaf from Luz’s head.
“Okay okay. But, do you know what happened? Who did this to her?”
“Hmmmmm… I have no idea! Hoot hoot!”
“What’s going on?” Lilith asked as she darted down the stairs. Her dyed indigo hair ruffled almost as if she was also woken up from a nap. Her eyes fell on the scene before her and she gasped. “What happened?”
“That’s what I’m trying to get Hooty to tell me, but he doesn’t know exactly what happened, he just saw her come in and collapse. Do you have a healing glyph?”
After Lilith defected from the Emperor’s Coven for rescuing Eda from petrification, she used an old mantra spell that split Eda’s curse between the two of them, rendering them both unable to use magic the way they used to. They started to learn glyphs from Luz afterwards and all she knew about them, what exactly makes them work and the like. It was lucky that neither of them have transformed into a beast like Eda used to whenever she didn’t keep her curse at bay with the various elixirs that she used to have to buy from various apothecaries. Lilith shivered when thinking about what she put her sister through after she put the curse on her. And even still after she had tried to redeem herself, her sister is still tense around her, expecting her to do something wicked again. Lilith only wished that by helping out, Edalyn would finally forgive her. But she doesn’t owe her forgiveness and she knows that. All she could do was try.
“Neither the huma… er… Luz or any of us have learned how to make healing glyphs yet! What do you expect me to do?”
“Oh, I dunno, maybe share the pain, Lily?”
“You and I both know that neither of us can produce magic naturally anymore, Edalyn. Do you have any healing potions or first aid or anything of the like?”
The Owl Lady’s mind raced for a second before remembering her stashes of various potions that she made.
“In my room, I have a closet full of potions we made next to my nest that we ended up not selling. Try in there.”
Lilith gave her sister a nod before darting off into the direction of her room. Eda’s grip tightened around Luz’s arm as she looked at her worriedly.
“Perhaps I can help.”
Eda spun around to find herself facing a tall man with brown, shaggy hair, a wrinkled face, and a steely blue scarf barely covering a manacle that glinted off the candle light from the various lamps adorning the walls of The Owl House.
The Owl Lady reached her arm out, sending her staff screaming towards her hand before she wrapped her hand gracefully around the handle and pointing it at the stranger, her eyes flickering with a protective fury.
“And what makes me think I can trust you? If anything, you could have been the one who did this! So, you better start explaining yourself before I start kicking your butt straight into the Boiling Seas or into a trash slug or… or whatever I think of to get rid of you!”
The stranger chuckled at Eda’s threat and raised his hand. “It’s okay, Miss Owl Lady. I’m a teacher at Hexside. In fact, I was a substitute for Ms. Luz’s Abominations class. I just came across here on my way home when I saw your house demon here bringing your… daughter? Ward? In here and I was worried.” He reached his hand out to her, with an inviting smile grazing his eyes.
“My name is Professor Robert Almade, here at your service, Ma’am.”
Eda put Almade’s hand down. “Look, I appreciate the offer, but I don’t need your help. My sister and I have everything under control.”
“Edalyn!” Lilith cried out to her sister. “We are out of healing potions!”
The Owl Lady groaned at the sound of her voice. Now she has to let him help, or else Luz may die.
“Alright, fine, All Mad-.”
“Almade.”
“I know what I said. Look, you win.” She shoved Luz’s body over to him. “Fix my baby. But I don’t know what you can do if you’re just an Abomination teacher, I mean the only way I could think of you mixing magic is if you’re a part of the Em-.”
Before she could say anything else, the teacher drew a glyph from his cloak with golden ink drawn on the rather stiff paper and placed it on Luz’s left side. A bright golden light shone from the paper as it dissolved into the air. There was a crackling sound coming from the wound and Luz gasped for breath before coughing.
“Sounds like she had a broken rib and it punctured… something. I’m pretty sure it’s not a bile sac, but it’s something.”
“That would be her lung, professor. Look, you may be helping me out right now, but just to make it clear, I do not trust you one bit.”
“I figured that would be the case.” He said nonchalantly as he placed another glyph on Luz’s side, then another. A groan sounded from the human as the pain shot through her and water washed over her side, clearing the mud away from her face.
“You also use glyphs, huh?”
“I’m another victim of lost magic, you could say. That’s why you have your graying eye, is it? The bile stopped being produced from the bile sac?”
Eda covered her gray eye and looked away from him. “Yeah, something like that.”
Almade, finished with his magic, took Luz over to the couch and set her down gently. “I’m not particularly fond of telling my story, so please don’t ask.” He shuddered. “It’s… too much to go over.”
The Owl Lady shrugged. “I wasn’t going to anyway, just finish your work and get out my house.”
Almade nodded and walked out into the deep forest. A raven landed on his shoulder and he paused as he let it perch on his extended finger before continuing on his path.
“Hooty hooty hoot hoot! Well, that was a reli- OUCH!” Hooty was interrupted by Eda slamming the door shut, leaving the house demon’s owl-like face outside again.
“Shut it Hooty. I’m just glad she’s okay now.” She sighed as she ran her fingers through the surface of her silver mane. She leaned against the door and slid onto the floor, covering her face and rubbing her temples from the stress that her kid caused her. Lilith came down the steps to meet her sister again.
“I see that Almade came by and helped. Though, I’m curious what he’s doing out here. Did he escape the Conformitorium?”
Eda burst out laughing in relief. “Oh dear Titan, I thought he was just some other Emperor’s Coven goon!” She snorted. “Good try, Lily.”
Lilith said nothing to her sister. A look of inquiry and concern spread across her face.
“You’re serious?”
The former Emperor’s Coven leader nodded. Eda groaned as she rolled over face first into the floor.
“What worries me the most is that he might have been released by the Emperor.”
Eda’s muffled groans grew louder
“But it doesn’t make sense. Why would he release a criminal that did what he did? It has to be a last resort or something.”
“Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! What did he do?” King barked as the diminutive demon climbed up Lilith’s shoulder and rested his chin on her bed head. He grabbed at the witch’s cheeks. “Did he decimate his enemies, leaving Belos nothing to do but locking him up for petrification? Did he beat up Warden Wrath and lead an army against him as they escaped? Oh wait, we did that.”
Lilith picked up the catlike creature and threw him off of her head, leaving him to let out a tiny “Weh?” as she threw him on the floor only for him to land on his feet. Lilith brushed herself down before continuing on.
“No, he did much worse. He was the last prisoner I’ve sent into the Conformitorium before I was tasked to go after you on our last mission, Edalyn. He-.”
Lilith couldn’t finish her sentence.
“Lily, spit it out.”
“I can’t. But I can tell you that he was scheduled for a burning.”
Eda’s eyes widened. Petrification may have been one of the worst punishments imaginable, but it was nothing compared to a burning. Not even Emperor Belos had stooped to that level of punishment because it was downright torture. Something had to really set him off to give this man a punishment like that. But if he let him go, why did he do it? Luz started to stir as she coughed a bit. Eda immediately got up and rushed over to her side.
She checked her up and down. Thank the Titan, she was alive. She embraced her child with a shudder of relief.
“Oh, my gosh! Are you alright, kid? Speak to me, Luz.”
Luz’s eyes opened up halfway as she smiled groggily at her mentor. She took in a shaky breath before she was able to let out a single word.
“Almade….”
The human passed out again, taking in little breaths in the midst of her unconsciousness. Eda patted her on the cheek before standing up right and turning toward her sister.
“I don’t care if he healed her, Lily; because tonight, I’m murdering someone.”
WINX REDUX AU SUMMARIZED: SEASON 2 (The Shadow Phoenix)
Or, in which I give the basics of what I’ve changed about the story for the AU. It was originally way more descriptive but if I kept it in that style I would have finished in 2039 and I ain’t got time for that. Let’s cover Season 2!
WINX REDUX AU SUMMARIZED: SEASON 2
The ceremony for the new school year is about to begin, but the Winx are worried sick. Aisha hasn’t appeared yet and they haven’t heard of her in a month.
They decide to keep up some good spirits and believe she’ll appear for the start of classes proper, and whatever’s holding her back in Andros will not take long.
Down in the depths of Shadowhaunt, Aisha has finally managed to escape her prison and is making a run for it, looking for the Pixies and trying to keep a low profile.
She finally finds them and manages to freeze them, and with some help and miniaturization spells, she managed to get them all and run like hell, as their wings were coated in something and had a hard time flying.
Darkar appears in full finally, and starts chasing after the fairy, attacking her with dark flames and providing extra ways for her to advance.
She’s cornered in a balcony and loses the Pixies due to tripping, Darkar catching them again except for Piff, which is still with Aisha hidden.
Aisha takes a leap of faith and jumps from the balcony, transforming mid-air into Glamourix much to her surprise, not expecting to have earnt it that way.
The surprise is short-lived, however, once she hits the water, knocking herself out for a bit. It’s a good thing she can breathe underwater and that pixies technically don’t breathe when asleep.
Back on Alfea, the ceremony is about to begin yet Bloom finds herself lost in the school, arriving into a weird doorless hallway.
She snoops around a bit and finds the Magic Archive, meeting Concorda in the process.
She’s the Pixie of Alfea and is in charge of protecting the Archive, and tells Bloom she needs to leave as only 3rd year students and up can access it.
A few hours pass and the ceremony has concluded (Bloom notes how weird it is that Avalon wasn’t present), the Specialists go pay the Winx a visit and they hang around for an hour, though the girls are still worried about Aisha.
Right at that moment, she appears from the woods, her Glamourix form damaged and her looking incredibly hurt, before finally fainting on the spot, detransforming.
After a week of rest, Aisha finally tells them what she went through, and Faragonda gets incredibly panicky and scared when she mentions Darkar. She bans the girls from the subject and tells them she’ll organize a way to rescue the rest of the Pixies soon.
Aisha, Bloom and Stella decide to skip school and go save the Pixies themselves, as the authorities were taking too long to do something about it after 3 days without any news, with the other three remaining at Alfea with alibis.
They drag Sky, Riven and Brandon into the mess as well for backup, and after identifying the cave Aisha came out of they start their journey to Shadowhaunt.
On Roccaluce Rehabilitation Center, the Trix find themselves bored and tired of the place, and the ways they try to make them better people, finding it inhumane.
Right around the same time, Darkar breaks in, having sensed them as the witches who weakened his seal with their stunt, and practically kidnaps them so they could help him with his plans.
The Trix follow him mostly out of fear, since the dude’s incredibly powerful and they’d rather not die by cursed fire thank you very much. He grants them part of his power to make them more capable in battle, as well as weapons for Icy and Stormy (Darcy already has a crescent-shaped blade, though Darkar does upgrade it). Icy gets a sword hilt, being able to make the blade with her ice, and Stormy gets a spear.
The Princesses and the three Specialists get lost, and after a battle with Darkar’s monsters they get separated, Stella and Brandon falling into an abyss and Stella unable to transform out of sheer shock and fear.
They wake up in a strange village and are greeted by a Drakian man in blue, called Sponsus. He tells them they’re in Surar, a town that was forced to live underground after a natural disaster destroyed their original settlement. Stella is hella weak due to the fall, the shock and not being able to transform due to all this, so she’s super scared and clinging to Brandon the entire time for safety and comfort, refusing to leave him alone.
They get Stella some medicine and treatment and Sponsus convinces them to meet Amentia, the current leader of the place, for help and instructions to Shadowhaunt since she knows the area pretty well.
They meet her, she seems interested in Brandon which only makes Stella get in an even worse mood, and tells them about what’s been happening lately on this place:
People of the town, as well as Gnomes from the nearby Ephemeria settlement, keep disappearing anytime they get close to the ways to Shadowhaunt, and monsters have started appearing. She’s interested in their plans to save the Pixies and offers her assistance on the way, to see what’s going on.
They get attacked on the way there however, Brandon getting severely injured. Amentia offers to take him back to Surar to properly treat him and Stella to keep going to meet her friend, but she’s hesitant, not wanting to be left alone right now.
Brandon finally convinces her and she rushes off, seeing if she can finally meet with the rest, trusting Brandon and Amentia that all will be fine.
She finally transforms again, earning her Glamourix, and manages to meet with the rest at last.
They decide to simply go to Shadowhaunt as they are and that they’ll meet Brandon later, so he can rest properly.
They finally reach the place and find the Pixies, freeing them. They’re attacked by the Trix at the same time, however, and a battle ensues.
It’s short-lived, however, as Avalon suddenly appears, defeating the Trix and saving the rest. He explains he had actually been contacted by the Paladins to go investigate Shadowhaunt, as they had detected sudden magic readings recently. His cover was blown, however, so he sticks with the group and scolds the girls for doing this recklessly.
They make their way back to Surar for Brandon, and after explaining what they now know to Amentia, she thanks them for the information and tells them that she’ll keep an eye on Shadowhaunt, and inform the Order of Mana if anything else happens.
They finally go back to Alfea and are scolded even further by a very worried Faragonda, who punishes them with two weeks of limited magic access outside of classrooms, as well as extra homework to catch up on what they missed. The guys are also punished by Saladin via holocall, and are forced to help with some of the harder preparations for Red Fountain’s start, as they’re still fixing the place.
Bloom and the rest does ask Faragonda what she knows about Darkar and why did he kidnap the Pixies in the first place, but she tells them she’ll share that information in due time, once she tries to process everything.
Avalon puts Bloom aside for a bit, complimenting her bravery and resolve in saving the pixies even if it was a dumb thing to do, and offers to teach her about Domino and it’s royal customs alongside Daphne, now that she’s a princess.
The girls properly meet all the Pixies, and start to get along. Bloom gets along with Lockette, Stella with Amore, Musa with Tune and Cherie, Tecna with Digit and Cara, Flora with Chatta, and Aisha with Piff. Lockette and Kiko have an Anime Rivalry going on.
A month or so passes, and Red Fountain is finally fixed, a big event occurs for it with all three schools attending, as well as Diaspro finally arriving at Alfea after having some issues transferring on Eraklyon Institute’s part.
The building now flies. Flora recognizes Helia on the crowd and decides to spend the rest of the day with him, catching up after so long. We learn he’s currently living in Magica City and trying to make it as an artist, working as a barista on the side to keep like, living.
The Trix attack during the show battle between Sky and Riven, and the Winx plus Diaspro, the Specialists and also Helia (revealing he’s now a Glamourix witch) decide to help with the issue. Once the monster is defeated the Trix are nowhere to be seen, leaving everyone confused.
Tecna is noticing a weird shift on Avalon, believing him to be really friendly lately. Too friendly.
She decided to ask him what has gone on in his life to make him be in that good mood, and when he gives a cryptic answer she becomes more convinced something’s wrong.
Despite Bloom and Musa’s protests she’s just being paranoid, she starts making a special device to decipher if Avalon is under some sort of spell, or if it’s even the real Avalon at all. The Winx believe it’s not gonna work due to some of Tecna’s past projects, so they don’t worry too much.
To literally everyone’s surprise, the device does work. Except it’s acting as a missile centered on Avalon. Shenanigans ensue.
The device starts targeting other people, meaning the Winx have to transform now. They manage to destroy the object, and Tecna apologizes for what she did.
A few weeks pass, and the girls start taking magic battle classes with Griselda.
Tecna, still slightly stressed with what happened recently (not used to apologizing for being in the wrong), has a nasty fight with Timmy, and after a few days, the Winx convince her to go talk to him properly at Red Fountain, with Bloom and Flora going along.
It just so happens that the Trix attack shortly after they arrive, seemingly looking for something. The girls and the Specialists fight them for a bit before they seemingly retreat, and give chase for them, not knowing what they or Darkar wants from the school.
The Trix arrive at the center of the academy and solve a puzzle, gaining access to the secret armory and stealing a red gem, filled with power. They call it a Keystone and promptly leave, but they’re attacked by Athena, the pixie of Red Fountain.
They’re soon cornered by half the Winx and the specialists, but during battle Icy manages to stab Timmy, and Tecna lets them go, prioritizing his safety despite wanting to simply defeat them now and end it.
Flora rushes as fast as she can and starts using her healing powers to lessen the harm, stopping the blood loss so RF’s nursery can take him.
A few hours pass and Timmy wakes up again, recovering still. He and Tecna finally talk about what had happened a few days ago and make up, Tecna’s admitting of being wrong and showing her emotions fully earning her Glamourix.
After Timmy’s near-death experience, the Winx finally confront Faragonda, and she tells them of Darkar, the Keystones, and Relix. (more info about them here and here)
Some weeks pass, and the Pixies are getting more and more homesick. Someone’s been poisoning them lately with a longing potion, and when fully inebriated they decide to flee Alfea and go back to Pixie Village, but are stopped by the Winx.
The girls are assigned a group test and need 7 people total, so they decide to invite Diaspro along so they can get to know each other better. After a few mishaps, they have a sleepover, and the group gets closer to her in different ways, bonding strongly with Bloom and Tecna (Bloom over a passion for art, Tecna over a deep, deep love-hate relationship with soap operas).
The day of the test arrives, but Darkar himself hijacks the simulation chamber, forcing the girls to do a different convergence spell than planned, defeating the monsters he placed. They pass without issue after that, and the girls feel more together than ever.
Bloom needs to go to Earth for a few days to help her mom with the case against the dudes that tried to destroy her shop, and with permission from Faragonda she brings Stella, Musa and Aisha along, since they wanted a breath of fresh air.
Stella leaves to go sightsee and Bloom meets with her mom, so left alone, Musa and Aisha decide to hit up a club and see how it goes.
Back on Magix, Flora manages to snag a coffee with Helia, and continue to catch up on their lives. She’s been trying to meet with him again for a while, but he tends to get so immersed in his work he accidentally keeps ghosting her. After an actual outing at last, Helia realizes he’s lowkey crushing on her, but decides to drop that though for a bit and continue with his art, unaware that Flora’s also starting to fall for him.
They have a good time despite an incident with some punks outside the place, and after a sudden slow dance, Musa realizes her crush on Aisha is far more than that. She internally panics the rest of the trip, Aisha somewhat oblivious but also starting to see Musa in a different light.
A few weeks pass, and Stella, Sky, Bloom and Diaspro are summoned by King Erendor, wanting to get some things clear that were left untouched after the Incident last year.
He and Samara talk about the engagement, and that if Bloom and Diaspro are willing, they can rearrange everything in a way they can both still be with Sky.
They all refuse the offer, having already resolved that themselves on their own, and that nothing he says will change their minds. Samara tries to subtly manipulate Diaspro with how her mother is taking all of this, but Bloom defends her, surprising the blonde and the regents.
Defeated, Erendor cedes word to his wife, who reveals the other reason they called them: A town bordering Quarzis and Eraklyon has been taken by the rogue noble Yoshinoya, who wants to meet with both heirs to get to an agreement. Fearing a repeat of “The Onyrix Fairy incident” (which piques Bloom’s curiosity), they order them all to go see what’s up.
On Magica City, Musa meets with her brother - Jian, a senior Specialist. They’re catching up on what has been happening lately, and after a bit, Jian informs her that Red Fountain’s Academic Showcase is happening soon, and that they’re looking for a musician to perform at the end. Musa jumps at the idea and takes that spot, happy but nervous that she’ll finally get to play for more than just the Winx sometimes.
After they part ways, Jian calls his father, and invites him to come to the Showcase since he missed it last year, and that he has a surprise for him.
Back on Eraklyon, the group talks on the way, and Bloom asks about what Erendor and Samara were talking about. Sky admittedly doesn’t know much about it since it was before he was born, but Brandon fills in and tells her Daphne will know more since she was also involved.
They finally arrive at the town, and are immediately ambushed by a group of weirdos in superhero costumes calling themselves the Patchamen, a group of justice-obsessed mercenaries that believe in Yoshinoya’s cause, being completely misguided. They’re quickly defeated, however, and thanks to them defecting, they manage to capture Yoshinoya and send them to the authorities.
Diaspro and Bloom talk a bit more on the way back, and after everything that happened that day, she realizes she might be crushing on Bloom, especially after the redhead falls asleep on her shoulder.
A week has passed, and the Showcase is finally starting. Musa’s nervous about her solo act (since she’s also helping a band with her guitar earlier on), but Aisha manages to encourage her and everyone else is supportive as well. Riven offers some advice on handling any nervousness in his own way, but Musa’s thankful about the support.
Her happiness is short-lived, however, when she recognizes her father, Huan, on the distance, and while he’s happy to see her, his eyes have a stern look.
The Winx and the Specialists introduce themselves, and Huang pulls Musa aside from a bit after this.
Once they’re in a private place, he asks her to drop the music act, that she shouldn’t do any of that. Musa asks him how he knows about this - Jian told him. She immediately refuses, she has been practicing like hell this past week and she’s not about to drop it just because her dad is still afraid of performing.
They’re on the verge of a screaming match but Aisha interrupts, worried about her friend. Musa takes the chance and leaves his father there, and goes to confront her brother on this with Aisha.
Jian told their father about the show in the hopes he had finally gotten over the issue, but he was clearly wrong, and Musa, while appreciating the thought, he should have known their dad wasn’t over it. “We’re a family of thick-headed people, did ya forget that?” Aisha has like zero context about this, so she asks them to elaborate.
Their mother, Marina, died of a magic-resistant illness, and near the end of her life she had started to get slightly better. She wanted to give one last concert, in case she did not make it, and she did. But she passed out shortly after the final song of the concert, and died on the way to the hospital.
They went through some bad patches after this, and while Huan still likes music, he’s afraid of his kids also following that path in case they end like Marina did.
Both Jian and Musa know this is idiotic, but they understand why he would be afraid of this. Marina’s passing hit them all too hard. But Musa is determined to go through the concert with his approval or not, and she’s not gonna back down.
The Showcase finally starts, and while Huan is still grumpy the girls and Riven manage to soften him a bit with how much Musa loves music and how nervous she was about all this.
Musa’s number is close to happening, and after a bit, Huan shows up backstage. He apologizes for what he did that day, and that yeah, he shouldn’t have to force her to not perform just because of his fears.
Musa also apologizes for how she reacted, but also finally calls him out on how his fears have affected her and Jian, how she has felt pressured to keep a big part of her hidden from him all this time, and how much pain this has caused her. Huan apologizes once more, and as they hug, Musa earns her Glamourix, finally being honest with her dad.
She finally gets to perform her solo act, and the Showcase finishes without any major incident.
Bloom gets invited by Mitzi for a Halloween party, and she decides to bring the Winx + Dia along as well, since the rest didn’t get to see Earth last time.
The party goes without any major incidents, but Mitzi does tell her that she hasn’t seen Selina in a bit, seemingly spending a lot of time with her grandma. Mitz’s description of her matches what her parents have told her about the mysterious old lady that showed up each time she went back home, and while she’s worried, if she’s Selina’s grandmother she will probably be fine.
A few more weeks go by and the Winx wake up to the revelation Flora signed them all up for some extra courses at Cloud Tower, and she takes the chance to also meet up with Mirta and Lucy again.
Helia also goes to get some practice on his magic done.
As this happens, Sky and Riven get trapped on their side of the dorm due to some issues, and are forced to spend the entire day together. They get closer, and Riven starts to suspect he might have something for the blonde prince.
During their stay the Trix hijack the school and after some battles, they manage to steal its Keystone after defeating Discorda, its pixie.
Helia and Flora also start lowkey flirting but they’re both bad at it and Flora’s infinite patience is starting to cut short once Helia starts trying to change subjects.
Three days later, the Winx are still bummed about their defeat at the hand of the Trix, and Bloom starts taking some private magic lessons with Avalon to unwind a bit.
They talk a bit and asks Avalon if he knows where Alfea’s keystone is. Avalon says he honestly doesn’t know, but even if he knew he wouldn’t be able to tell her. Bloom makes an offhand comment about the Keystone being in the Archive, and Avalon loses composure for a second.
Avalon offers her some of his homemade tea to relax, and she eagerly drinks it, exhausted after the training.
Bloom gets progressively more and more flighty and happy as the day progresses, and during a small joke moment in the Winx’s dorm, she starts laughing too hard. Everyone gets concerned as Bloom also suddenly transformed, and started flying away.
She’s getting more and more deranged and her eyes are starting to change color, and she arrives at the Archive, starting to burn everything with a childlike glee on her eyes. Her Glamourix also turns from orange to gold.
The Winx follow and attempt to stop her, but they’re overpowered by Bloom’s Dragon Aura and she breaks the roof, flying out with the Keystone and giving it to a shadowy person for Darkar.
She comes back down and starts trying to play (read: attack) the Winx, but Avalon arrives and takes her out of whatever she was on, detransforming.
She spends the next week shut inside her room, afraid of what she had done, not knowing how it happened, and how she almost severely hurt her friends with her magic.
Since the last break before finals is rapidly approaching, Faragonda suggest for the girls to take a trip to the Fatue Wildland Resort, a place low on ambient magic with a lot of stuff for them to take their mind off recent events, and even suggest the girls could invite the Specialists.
The Winx take the offer and bring the Specialists alongside Diaspro and Helia, and they have a nice two days on the Snow Mountains before deciding to camp on the River side of the resort, just 4 days of enjoying nature.
At the same time, Palladium and Avalon go on a small hike in search of a flower, but Avalon gets some flower acid in his eyes, prompting Livy, the messenger pixie of Alfea, to go back and get some medicine while Palladium helps him. Avalon mentions something about Pixie Village’s unique cure seemingly as a random fact, and Livy decides to then go to Pixie Village since it would have been a shorter trip.
She gets attacked by Icy on the way, and she manages to find Pixie Village. She makes short work of the place and takes the last remaining Keystone, and almosts kills Ninfea before being stopped by Livy.
She decides to fold in, and Livy rushes again to help Avalon.
With all the Keystones, Darkar realizes he needs someone else to act as a catalyst to open the gate for Relix, and informs the Trix this person is Bloom, so they need to kidnap her.
The Trix attack the group on the Wildlands, but ultimately fail to get Bloom, the team getting the fuck out of there once the Trix disappear.
At some point between the attacks, Aisha gets separated from the rest, and in a moment of panic, she can only think of Musa and how she could make everything better. She realizes she might be falling in love with her.
The Winx then go to Pixie Village by Livy and Faragonda’s request, as the Tree of Life took a beating and they think Flora might be able to save it.
She does, and thanks to a confidence boost she stops beating around the bush, finally asking Helia out on a date after their ineffective flirting on the Wildlands. Chatta cheers on the background.
Once back on Alfea Bloom decides to go check up something with Avalon, and loses track of the rest.
The Winx then meet with Faragonda and talk about what happened, when Avalon, looking way worse than just a few moments ago, bursts into the hallway.
He explains he was a prisoner of Darkar almost all year, and has only now just managed to escape. Everyone else is doubtful until Faragonda decides to call the Order, and is indeed surprised that Avalon was reported missing for almost a year now.
The Winx, realizing Bloom was gonna meet up with the fake Avalon, rush like hell to his office, but are too late - Bloom is back to that crazed state (Shadow Bloom is what the fake calls it), and formally introduces himself as Bertrand, before disappearing to Shadowhaunt.
Everyone starts panicking like hell until Daphne, filled with rage, finally decides to go to Shadowhaunt and end all this right now. The Winx agree wholeheartedly, and with some preparations from all schools our protagonists venture into the depths of Magix.
They manage to meet with Amentia on the way, who realizes there’s been more monsters lately and that Darkar might be preparing for something big. She agrees to keep those monsters at bay alongside some senior Specialists chosen to help.
The main team manage to go inside at last after a last battle with the Trix, and start looking for Bloom.
On the main chamber, and with Bloom’s magic, Darkar finally manages to open the gate to Relix, and leaves the Trix alone to defend the castle while he executes his master plan (which no one truly knows what is yet).
The Trix are pissed at this, after all they did for him for him to betray them like that, so they defect and decide to go help the heroes as a last “fuck you” to Darkar.
The heroes, meanwhile, are held back by Bertrand, who has been kicking their ass for a few minutes before Faragonda, Griffin, Saladin and Codatorta’s entrance, who agree to entertain the monster while everyone else rushes to Relix with Daphne’s help.
The Ring/Sceptre of Solaria is broken during the battle, causing Stella a lot of distress.
With combined effort, the former members of the Company of Light manage to kill Bertrand.
The Winx, Specialists, Diaspro, Helia and the Trix manage to enter Relix at last, and finally witness Darkar’s plan:
To make Bloom absorb as much power from the planetoid as possible, so she can earn Relix and then transfer his consciousness to her, finally becoming corporeal again and… and…
He stops for a bit. He has completely forgotten what he wanted to do once he reached Relix, centuries old memories mixing inside of him.
The Specialists take this chance and attack Darkar, destroying his armor and suddenly freeing the spirit inside, forming into a giant bird-like form.
Bloom is still absorbing magic, and attempts from the Winx seem futile, a shield protecting her. A convergence spell manages to weaken it enough that Diaspro goes through it, and attempts to snap Bloom out of Darkar’s control as much as she can.
Darkar realizes what Diaspro is doing and attacks both her and Bloom not realizing that he will also hurt his future host, and Diaspro takes the full brunt of the attack to defend Bloom.
She ends up severely burned by Darkar, and faints on the spot, seemingly not breathing.
Bloom looks down to Diaspro, the manic glee in her face disappearing completely, her transformation undone and the curse drug placed on her by Bertrand burnt away by her sorrow.
Diaspro starts to shine, however, and manages to get herself partly up surprised that she’s not hurting anymore, and realizes she earnt Enchantix by saving Bloom via giving up her safety for her. Bloom hugs her immediately, but soon realizes Darkar’s still there and he’s attacking everyone.
However, the headmasters plus Daphne arrive to Relix as well, and with everyone’s power, they manage to destroy Darkar, separating the two souls that formed him and burning them, letting them pass on at last.
Completely exhausted, everyone leaves Shadowhaunt slightly traumatized by everything that happened, and the Trix, while proved helpful against Darkar in the end, are going to have to go to jail for a bit and will have a proper trial to determine their fate.
Everyone finally manages to go back to the schools and rest for a bit before finals start, and for now, peace has been achieved...
Days: Nathaniel’s Side
Despite Amber’s encouragement, Nathaniel did not want to leave the house. “God damn it Nathaniel! If you think I’m gonna let you fall into the abyss, you’d better think again! Now fucking do something other than sit around this house!” Sam demanded. The days began like that. Amber wanting to explore their new surroundings, Ken trying to do his best, and Sam demanding Nathaniel not mope around the house... But that’s all he wanted to do. “I’m not supposed to do much! I have to rest and let my wound heal!” He tried to argue. Sam looked at him, then took her hand and pressed her thumb along his bandage. Nathaniel yelped in pain as he looked into Sam’s eyes. “You may have to heal, but my commandment stands. You’re not going to spend the entirety of Purification moping around this house. You’re the one who got yourself into this mess, and I REFUSE to put up with your pitiful bullshit while my sister and that wretched organization get you out of it!” She growled.
As Nathaniel held his side, he watched Sam and Ken walk off. “You know Mels is gonna kick your ass if she finds out you did that.” Ken observed. “She can try.” Sam challenged.
★
After a couple of days of forced exploration, Nathaniel attempted to take off on his own. As he put the keys into the Roster family’s truck and started it, he noticed someone get into the passenger’s seat. “Kentin! What the hell?!” Nathaniel boomed. “Where do you think you’re going?” Kentin asked. Nathaniel looked down. Kentin raised an eyebrow. “You can’t do that.” He stated. “Why not? If I go alone, you and Sam won’t be breaking protocol.” Nathaniel argued. “It’s not a matter of whether or not Sam and I break protocol... It’s the fact that that if you go back to Amouria right now, it will be a slap in your girlfriend’s face. You said that if you didn’t leave Amouria, they’d kill you and go after Amber and Mels... Well, they didn’t count on Mels being the Grim Reaper, so now, they’re suffering the consequences of crossing her and you’re supposed to be giving them what they want by being out of the city while they suffer. Don’t make her efforts be for nothing by going back there and putting yourself back in the line of fire.” Kentin explained. Nathaniel looked at Kentin. “I still want to go back.” His eyes were pleading. Ken sighed. “Look, I know you do. But, think about it... Mels is posting online, almost religiously for now, even about the mundane. Knowing her, she doesn’t do that unless there’s a form of motivation. That’s told Sam and me that she’s trying to let you know that she’s okay. Sam is getting more and more pissed off at you for moping around... So, you’ve got to do SOMETHING other than barricade yourself in Mels’ room. Wander around the city, play video games, read a book in the living room.... Something! Hell, when you feel like it, I can even train you.” Kentin clarified and suggested. “You can train me?” Nathaniel asked. “Yeah. Mels told Sam and me that you’ve been boxing and fighting... But maybe I can add to your skill.” Kentin replied.
It was on this day, Nathaniel finally began to stop moping around the house.
Several days passed, Nathaniel and Ken had gotten into the habit of going into the back yard to train. “So, you’ve trained against Alana and Sam?” Nathaniel asked as he attempted to lay a hit on Ken. “Yeah. The Military sends soldiers to the R.D.R for special training from time to time and Sam and I have both been sent to the old base.” Ken replied as he blocked Nathaniel and landed a hit on him.
While the boys trained, Sam decided to sit in the living room and play video games. Amber walked into the room. “It looks like the boys are having fun.” Amber commented. “Yeah, maybe Ken can whip Nathaniel into shape.” Sam sighed. “What’s your deal?” Amber asked as she sat down on the opposite end of the couch from Sam. “What do you mean?” Sam asked as she continued to play video games. “Ever since we got here, you’ve been so nice to me, but you’ve treated Nathaniel like he’s more or less an inconvenient soldier. Why?” Amber inquired. “You don’t get it... Do you? Just as you and Nathaniel are protective of each other, Mels and I protect each other. My sister has been through hell the past few years, and I don’t want her to get hurt again. I am VERY disappointed in both you and Nathaniel... However, with him, I need to make sure he’s got enough of a spine to be the type of man that can withstand being at my sister’s side. With the implementation of Protocol 216, your brother is now, basically, royalty. He needs to be strong and formidable, so that he can protect himself, as well as my sister. Especially considering I’m sure there may come a time where my sister won’t be able to protect herself. This weak, pussy ass, bullshit, that he’s been pulling will not do.” Sam explained. A flash of annoyance crossed Amber’s face. “And, as for you? You made it very clear that you wanted to be a model back in high school. It was easy to guess that you would end up like this. Especially considering your mother is an ex model, as well as emotionally abusive. Honestly, I think Nathaniel got off light when it comes to the abuse. His physical wounds healed, and with a good support system, he’s able to try to move forward from it. You, however, have essentially been committing a long form of suicide, with encouragement from your mother and coworkers. It’s no surprise that both Nathaniel and Castiel have been worried sick about you.” Sam sounded very fed up as she spoke. Anger started flashing across Amber’s face. “What do you know about my situation?! You’re a soldier!” Her voice began to raise. Sam sighed. Her temper wanted to flare, but she kept it under wraps. “That’s right, I am a soldier. I have seen and done things in my short life that you would have nightmares about. I am also a sibling to someone who has suffered so greatly that her horrors have nearly killed her on several occasions.” Sam immediately shot Amber down. Amber looked defeated. “Look, Amber, what your industry doesn’t realize just yet is that people don’t want string bean, Barbie dolls anymore... Well, no one with any brains wants that type of woman anymore. I mean, for fuck’s sake, have you not noticed the rise of women who can kick ass and take names in mainstream media? Gal Gadot was a trainer for the Israeli Army before becoming Miss Israel, and that was before she became Wonder Woman. She is revered as one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Other women like, Charlize Theron, Scarlet Johannson, Zoe Zaldana, Margot Robbie, and many, many others, are very beautiful women, who train like fucking crazy to stay thin, but you can tell there’s some muscle to them. These are women people may want to fuck, but you certainly don’t want to fuck with them. You don’t have to kill yourself to be beautiful. The most beautiful person is someone who is comfortable in their own skin, and free to show the world who they really are.” Sam paused her game to take a sip of her drink. Amber looked at Sam, shocked.
The boys continued to kick, punch and dodge each other in the back yard. “Good! But you need to quit going for the kill whenever you attack.” Ken commented. “Why?” Nathaniel asked. “You’ll find that it’s just as effective to disarm and incapacitate people than to end their lives.” Ken replied. “I don’t try to kill people.” Nathaniel remarked as he aimed for a spot on Ken’s back. Ken quickly dodged and aimed for Nathaniel’s legs, getting him on the ground. “I know you don’t try to. But when your instincts take over, you become primal. Primal instinct dictates that when you’re fighting for your life, you aim for the kill. It is a precise science to tame that instinct, make it look like you’re going for the final blow, and only disarm your opponent.” Ken explained. Nathaniel looked up at Ken and got back to his feet. “Is it a science that you’ve become well adept at? The last time I saw you, Sam was still punishing you for being a dick when Evan was here.” He smirked. Ken looked down. “Don’t get me started on him.” He sighed. Nathaniel looked at Kentin, curiously. “What happened?” He asked. “He got kicked out of the military and banned from R.D.R premises for harassing just about every woman he came across... Including Mels.” Ken sighed. “He harassed Alana?!” Nathaniel began to sound mad. Ken put up his hand. “This is where is got interesting. He tried to hit on her, but she shot him down so badly that he still hasn’t lived it down. Back then, you didn’t hit on Mels. Everyone knew that. Hell, the average recruit was lucky to get a pleasant greeting from her. The thing is, he didn’t stop after that... He began to spend less time training, and more time stalking Mels... However, Evan must have been pissing Mels off because the Red Death got wind of it and banned him from R.D.R facilities.” Ken explained. “Are you still friends with that fool?” Nathaniel asked. “Eh. Kinda... I still talk to him and Armin from time to time...” Ken replied. “What about Alexy?” Nathaniel asked. “Not really. After a while, I got tired of him constantly hitting on me... There was one point where Sam told him off... Then Mels told us how he’s been acting lately...” Ken began.
Suddenly, the girls appeared before them. “I thought ya’ll were training.” Sam smirked. “We were. We’re taking a break.” Ken smiled. “Yeah, I could hear ya’ll talking about Alexy.” Sam raised an eyebrow. “I don’t understand... He and Rosalaya are nice to me.” Amber commented. “Alexy wouldn’t quit hitting on my man, they abandoned my sister before she joined the R.D.R, and they’ve become insufferable.” Sam stated. “I know they haven’t given me the time of day in a couple of years...” Nathaniel started. “That’s because you became a damn drug dealer!” Amber blurted out. Nathaniel started to go to respond to Amber, but was stopped by Sam putting her hand up. “We are not doing this. I’ve talked to several people about what’s going on around Amouria and everything I’ve gotten has confirmed my suspicions. Castiel and Nathaniel are on common ground with Mels’ and Amber’s welfare and are fighting a bit less because of that. Priya doesn’t really talk to Nath and is wiling to give him another chance if he turns his shit around. She’s not happy with Mels but recognizes that she’s trying to free herself from the Grim Reaper. Rosa and Alex have allowed their personalities to become very fucking selfish. Leigh and his friend Rayan confirmed what happened when Mels bitch-slapped Rosa at the beach. Priya has confirmed that Mels ignores Rosa and Alexy now. So, as of right now, I don’t necessarily want to see or talk to them, but if they come up to me, I will be pleasant.” Sam explained.
Sam looked at the group and sighed. “Come on. I’m hungry and I wanna go out to eat.”
After days of training, Kentin needed a break, so Nathaniel decided to go off on his own wandering adventure. He parked the truck at a park and started walking. He had been walking for nearly an hour before he realized that he had left the park, and found himself surrounded by gravestones. “Why is a park so close to a cemetery?” He pondered as he walked.
A few minutes later, he came upon a grave with two men sitting in front of it. He instantly recognized the younger man. “Remember! Your introduction to Viktor and Severina will be an event!” Alana’s voice rang through his head. “Alana would kick my ass if I meet Viktor before the Gala...” He thought as he looked around. He noticed a large tree near the grave site. He into listen to what Viktor and the other man were saying.
“Hey, Mom. I actually brought Dad here this time.” “Hello my darling Cosima, it’s been a while.” They began to explain what had happened with Achille Mekina’s downfall, and Alana’s involvement in it. “So, Alana brought down Severina’s corrupt father.” Nathaniel thought. His mind began to wander to what had happened to him. “It’s almost as if she has a talent for bringing corrupt parents to justice.” He thought. As the men described Alana stumbling into Viktor, knocking the poisoned drink from his hand, Nathaniel grinned. “She deceived them to save him.” He thought. Edgard began asking Viktor if Alana will ever forgive him for what he did. “No. She won’t. Mels is not, usually, a forgiving woman. You insulted and attempted to discredit her family. Then, you called her a “little bitch, a fucking little whore” and pulled a gun on her when she denied your offer for an arranged marriage with me. She has made it very clear that she will never forgive you... It doesn’t matter that you were under Achille’s influence at the time. What matters is that you felt it was okay to commit those acts at all.” Viktor explained. Nathaniel clenched his fists when he heard this. “THAT BASTARD!” He thought. “Lynne hasn’t forgiven me either.” Edgard pointed out. Viktor scoffed. “After all this time, you still haven’t realized how headstrong the Roster family is. The women in that family are raised to not let themselves be crushed under the shoes of men. Hell, Verity made it clear that that’s one thing she’s always hoped would rub off on Severina. If Mels hasn’t forgiven you, what makes you think her mother will?” Nathaniel had to hold him back from chuckling at Viktor’s words. Nathaniel knew Viktor was right. The men in the Roster family had to be strong... If not to hold themselves high, then to at least keep up with the women. The most docile of the women had always been the family’s matriarch, Margaret. However, it was known that when Margaret’s husband, Harold, began to act like a sexist prick, his daughters and granddaughters were always sure to shut him up.
A few minutes later, Edgard went back to their car, leaving Viktor alone at the grave. Nathaniel continued to hide behind the tree and listen. “I wish Melody, Sam and Severina could be here with me. I know it’s been a while since we all visited you together... But, Severina is busy helping maintain Melody’s sanity in Amouria, and Samantha is with her boyfriend at the Roster Family Home playing babysitter to Melody’s boyfriend and his sister. Because of Mels’ plans, I’m not permitted to visit the house and see my friend... It could run the risk of me meeting Nathaniel before the point that Mels has decided upon. I don’t wanna disappoint Mels... Mels has told Rini and me so much about Nathaniel, yet, after all this time, we still haven’t met him... We couldn’t be there to meet him before she moved to Toronto... We weren’t available to go to the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Red Carpet Premiere in London when Nate took Mels and Nathaniel to it... And now, Mels is taking down a damn drug cartel to save him. I want to believe that he’s a good man... I want to have faith in Melody’s choice in soul mate... But I’m not sure. Part of me wants to say that she’d be better off if she and I were to get back together... But I know that will never happen... Hell, she reminds me of that every time I give her that longing look... Our time ended long ago...” Viktor’s voice had become sad. Nathaniel looked down, his heart becoming heavy. “Viktor is still in love with Alana, after all this time. Maybe she would be happier if she was with him, instead of being with a fuck up like me.” He thought as he sat down.
His mind began to wander to what Alana’s life could have been if they had never gotten together in the first place... Until he heard Viktor begin to speak up again. “You always reminded me that my loving, childhood, relationship with Melody wasn’t allowed to last. That father was going to rip us apart eventually because she’s not, technically, a blue blood like us. You told me to prepare for the day that she falls for someone else, for someone who can actually go the distance with her. When she first started telling Rini and me of this boy she had met who she thought was brilliant and sweet... Rini instantly knew. “She’s falling for him.”, “Nathaniel is the one.” Rini kept saying. Part of me wanted to deny it completely. But, after a while, she began to tell us more and more about her adventures at Sweet Amoris... About how she kept helping a writer find his notebook... About a gamer she became friends with... About Sam’s boyfriend who she thought was a little annoying... About a rebellious musician with a heart of gold... And of course, she wouldn’t shut up about Nathaniel. I didn’t wanna hear it... But, almost every time she spoke about him, she smiled. She did tell us what his parents were like, and why she hates them... But, that didn’t stop her from loving him... I became jealous. I wanted to distance myself from Melody because of it... But Rini explained that it would hurt her if I did...” Viktor continued to talk to his mother’s grave, explaining his feelings over what had happened whenever he heard that Alana and Nathaniel had broken up, then what took place when Alana saved him from his kidnappers. The truth of Nathaniel’s and Alana’s break up had already been explained to Nathaniel by several people... Hell, the Red Death had even sent him security footage from the day it took place... And the resulting mental snap that Alana suffered... But, it was different hearing it from Viktor. There was more loss, and sorrow to it.
After several more minutes of talking, Viktor’s voice changed in tone. It had become more calm. “I don’t know... Maybe, once I meet him, I’ll get the feeling that he truly is Melody’s soul mate... Maybe... Maybe I’ll get a sign... Maybe Melody will shine brighter than she ever has...” Viktor began to chuckle. “Melody has always loved Stardust... Hell, I remember you once calling her a fallen star... And we all know that stars shine brightest when they’re near their true love...” Viktor sat down and leaned his back against the headstone. “I really miss you Mom.”
After realizing that Viktor would probably be silent for the duration of his time there, Nathaniel got up from the tree and decided to walk back to the truck. Part of him wanted to be mad at Viktor for not seeing what Alana was when she was near him and her other friends. That she was beginning to heal from her traumas, and that he was the one who was there for her the most in Amouria. Sam saw that, Severina apparently got it, but Viktor’s jealousy got in the way. However, Nathaniel saw that because he and Viktor had never met, Viktor couldn’t make a proper decision on him... It was was clear that he couldn’t act on blind faith the way Severina seemed to...
As he got back into the truck, he sighed. “Who knows... Maybe she will shine. As it is, that glimmer of hope has returned to her.”
Several more days passed. Nathaniel began to become impatient. He did his best to subside this feeling by trying to distract himself. Training with Ken, playing video games with Sam, playing online games with Armin, reading books, and even wandering around the places in Weathering that he remembered Alana telling him about. But, it wasn’t enough. It had been a couple of weeks since he had arrived in Weathering and he wanted to go home... To get back to her.
“Hey, how much longer is this purification going to last?” He heard Sam ask as he hid from her sight. “She must be on the phone with the organization.” He thought. “Look, Nathaniel is getting restless... And rightfully so. We’re all tired of waiting around... So, give me some information and an estimate.” Sam sounded tired. There was a few minutes of silence before Sam spoke up. “Alright. Just know, I know how restless both Melody and Nathaniel are... So finish this shit soon.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what Nathaniel does during Purification.
I get that one day is primarily between Amber and Sam while Ken and Nathaniel are training... But I find this part very useful.
Nausea & Numbness (and the Slim Possibility of Happiness)
“hey you literally posted a rodorah fic two hours ago shouldn’t you wait a while before posting another” uhhhhhhh no
Asks and replies from when I asked on the 17th for Ghidorah-centric writing prompts:
Anonymous said: How about, Rodan coming to help and when he got stabbed from Mothra? Their reactions perhaps? And if they did care for Rodan, going to him rather than fighting Godzilla?
@corruptapostasy said: Ok, since I can’t decide which Ghidorah fic I want to request, I’m gonna suggest both and you pick which one suits your fancy. 1. A (possibly) saucy rivalry/hate romance between Ghidorah and Godzilla, the kind where they want to kill each other but really don’t because that would ruin the fun, 2. A sliiiight redemption arc, if only slightly, where Ghidorah contemplates that maybe destroying planets into ash and rubble may not be what he wants and that endless destruction won’t bring him joy.
@sandiiblu replied: What about Ghidorah being nice to Rodan for awhile simply because Rodan was so loyal to them from the start. Maybe Rodan got hurt and Ghidorah help him aid or rescue him.?????????
This is the fourth in an accidental series of Rodorah fics. If you haven’t read the others, all you need to know is “Ichi is the only head with a crush on Rodan; Ni is furious because Ichi banned crushes eons ago; and San/Kevin is neutral on Rodan but willing to give him a shot.” Also, due to things from different Godzilla movies, Mothra is a telepath, Ghidorah is a (crappy) empath, and at some point aliens mind-controlled Ghidorah. That’s it you’re all caught up! If you wanna read the other fics, link’s at the bottom of this post.
This is the first fic that actually diverges from canon—because Ghidorah checks on Rodan rather than fight Mothra & Godzilla, they don’t die. From here on out it’s all AU, babey!
Bittersweet ending but there’s more fics coming, so that’s not the ending-ending. Anyway angst is delicious.
###
They could take out both of them in one shot.
Here they were, the little king crumpled to the ground, and the bug that just wouldn't die atop him with tattered wings. In one shot, they could incinerate her like she was nothing but a thin carpet of dry leaves and fry what was left of him. The bug had her wings raised like she was preparing to launch herself at their faces.
Try it, they would tell her if they were capable of understanding each other. Try it, and see what happens to you both. Perhaps she could tell what they were thinking. They hoped so.
Lightning prickled up their throats.
A weak cry drifted from across the city.
The lightning died in one of their throats. First whipped around to face the noise, wing dropping to clear the view.
Where was their red sprite?
They remembered him breaking off to distract the unkillable bug so they could focus on the little king. And they could see how the bug was battered and burned now; but she was still flying.
The red sprite had been willing to fight an alien that was triple his size, triple his weight, and triple his heads, and carrying around their own hurricane, and didn’t stop until he physically could not fight anymore; he wouldn't have yielded to an insect. So what had happened to him?
It didn't matter what had happened to him! Focus! The enemy is right here!
First snapped to face forward as the bug flew at them, but they weren't prepared to incinerate her now. They raised a wing to block her, wincing when her stinger pierced the membrane. They didn't know what effect her venom had on the beasts of this planet; but it made them nauseous and clouded their thoughts. They flung her off and slammed her to the ground with their other wing so they could lean forward and snarl at her. The little king tried to get up, but his bellow was more of a wheeze, and he collapsed again. They could bite off the bug's head and turn next on the little king; they could end this now.
And still they hesitated.
What about—they weren't quite thinking clearly from the venom, the present danger slipping in and out of their minds and their thoughts sliding away—what about the red sprite? Where was he?
Second hissed. The red sprite had served his purpose and was unnecessary. The world was going to end—soon—and the red sprite was going to end with it. It was inevitable. They couldn't get attached to him. They were going to lose him. They had to lose him.
But not so soon. First's head sank lower, forehead pressing into the curl of their wing. (The bug stilled under the weight of his head; they were woozy enough not to realize that, this close to First's forehead, the little mindreader would have an even easier time than usual pricking into their thoughts.) Please—not so soon. Not now. In another month, they could lose him. In another day. But not now.
If not now—would they have the strength to later? They had to give up the red sprite. They had no other option. First had taught them that! It was abhorrent that he needed Second to remind him! If they tried to keep the red sprite, then when they inevitably lost him, they would be miserable.  They'd have to carry that misery forward with them, forever—
Well, what did that matter, when they were miserable anyway?
Two of their heads snapped up at the Third's thought. But he was right, wasn't he? World after world after world, they kept themselves apart from everything they saw, refused to let themselves enjoy it, refused to glory in it, simply because it would be gone eventually, and that would make them miserable. They were miserable anyway! They were miserable because they didn't enjoy or glory in anything! They let themselves enjoy nothing except the precise moment of destruction and triumph. Those moments ended, and they were left with nothing. So weren't they already always miserable? What different did it make, then, if they possessed the red sprite for a moment and then lost him?
They didn't know what difference it made. They didn't remember. The thought of losing something seemed somehow so much more terrifying than the thought of simply never having anything, but... but now, world after world after world of living like this, they didn't know what it was that made it terrifying. It just was.
It was terrifying because of the depth of the misery, perhaps— A misery they couldn't recover from. They knew they could live through their current form of misery—the misery of nothingness—because they had lived through it their whole lives. But the misery of having-and-then-losing was different. That one was unknown. They didn’t know if they could survive it.
The little king had forced himself to his feet. The plates on his back glowed blue. They jerked back just soon enough to dodge a weak blast, and in the process let up the bug. No. They were going to finish this battle, finish this world, and go. As they always had and always would.
Go back into the yawning black abyss.
Go back to the void between stars, which swallowed them up like they were nothing.
Go back to ending alien world after alien world after world after world after world...
For what? What were they going to get for it? If they kept the promise they'd made to each other an eon ago to never get attached to anyone or anything, who was going to give them a prize for good behavior? If they reduced enough worlds to ash were they suddenly going to become happy? How many more was it going to take?
The bug was struggling to get to her feet. The little king bellowed, charging again at them, jaw stretched open wide; they rose into the air, spun to slam their barbed tails into his face, dropped out of the air to land on him feet first while he was unsteady. They stumbled back as he fell again, fighting to still themselves so their nausea wouldn't get worse.
Wrathful joy rose in their throats as they saw him fall; then fizzled and faded again.
Third reminded them that that was the only kind of joy they ever felt. First turned to him and hissed, but quietly.
Didn't they know by now that if they kept living the way they always had then they were never going to be happy? If they were going to spend the rest of their eons miserable no matter what—couldn't they try to be actually happy for just one millennium? A century? A day? Maybe one day of happiness would be worth it—because the alternative they were currently living wasn't worth anything.
Why now, though? Second snarled at First—how many millions of possibilities for happiness, big and little and tantalizing and beautiful, had they passed up before now? Why did they deserve to have it now when they'd never deserved it before? Why did First deserve that happiness when he'd forbidden Second and Third from following it?
The red sprite keened again.
Nothing else mattered.
They slammed a foot on one of the bug's tattered wings and twisted, crushing it. Two heads bit at the little king, tearing gashes in his throat and abdomen, so roughly and carelessly that they lost a couple of fangs in his hard hide. All they had to do was slow the king and bug down. These two were already defeated, they'd finish them off later!
Tornadoes sprang up in the wake of their wings as they soared toward the red sprite's voice.
They loathed themselves for it. They loathed each other for it. But they could deal with that later, because the sight of their red sprite crumpled on the ground made their tails lash and the membrane of their wings prickle.
They landed, crouching on their wings, leaning over him to shield him from the rain with their body. He raised his head with difficulty, looking up at them. They knew so little about the people and creatures on this planet, and had put so little effort into trying to learn—they studied his face from three different angles and still couldn't tell if the way his expression was twisted was from pain or something else.
He tried to get up, supporting himself on trembling wings. For the first time, they saw the glowing gash in his chest, and hissed. Oh, they should have ripped that stinger off the bug when they had the chance. What had her venom done to him? First ducked toward the wound, hesitated, drew back. Third completed the motion instead, leaning forward to sniff the hot edges of the wound, and then to press his forehead directly over it, trying to measure how much it hurt. The red sprite chirped weakly.
The pain was weak. The red sprite felt numb, his body unresponsive. His numbness counteracted their own nausea and started clearing their thoughts. Was that what the bug's venom did to creatures on this world? Paralysis? They preferred the nausea.
They were glad he wasn't suffering, but the numbness meant he might not be able to feel his own injuries. Third pulled back and they stretched their heads out, looking over him from all sides, searching for any further signs of damage.
All they could see was wings and a beak and jagged stone skin and wild unreadable alien eyes. From a distance his shape looked so much like a parody of their own species, but up close...
Did they still want to keep him? Seeing like this how strange he was?  Knowing they might never understand each other? Knowing he might not be something that could be kept?
The warm rain beating on their back felt cold compared to the heat the red sprite was radiating. Each time he shifted his head, trying to see all of their faces at once, knots tied and untied in their throats. They thought of how viciously, courageously he'd fought against them, how he'd bowed to them, how he'd followed them into battle. Yes. They wanted him. This precious, fierce little warrior.
They tensed at a cracking sound, and Second whipped around to look in the direction they'd come from. The little king, with the bug clinging to his back, was crushing half-fallen buildings under him as he trudged closer. They curled their wings protectively around their red sprite; then uncurled again and stepped away to stand between him and the little king. They spread their wings wide, tails raised and rattling, hissing.
The little king hesitated for a moment, but then let out a hoarse roar. Fine. They lowered their heads, preparing to strike. If he didn't know when to stay down and take an undeserved mercy...
The bug butted her head on the little king's jowl, pricking one of her scythe-like legs in the crevasses of his neck armor. Oh, they hated that little bug. She was too much like them in a way that wasn't appealing—her mind could touch other minds, like theirs could—they'd felt her brushing up at the edges of their minds before, even from a distance. They feared that she was better at it than they were; they were far weaker at it than they used to be. They wondered what she was slipping now into the little king's mind.
His head jerked down, looking toward their feet under their wings. They crouched, trying harder to block their red sprite. This time, their hisses crackled with the threat of lightning. Of course the bug knew what they were trying to protect; she'd put the glowing wound in his chest. What were she and her thrall thinking now? Did they want to take out the red sprite while he was weak? Did the bug think her little king would stand a better chance against them if they had one less ally? Did she just want to spite them before dying? If either of them even tried to move toward their red sprite...
But they didn't.
The little king stared at the bottom of their wings, like he thought he could still see the red sprite behind them; and then looked up to stare in their faces. Stupid animal. What was it that he wanted? They couldn't read his eyes, couldn't read his face. There was no chance that they could focus well enough or get close enough to read his emotions. What was he going to do?
He widened his stance. They prepared themselves for an attack.
He lifted his head and roared at the sky.
They froze.
They recognized that roar—that specific, high, carrying roar. He'd made it to them, only once, a very long time ago, when they'd been new to this world and he hadn't known what to expect of them and they hadn't yet known what he was trying to convey. They'd heard him make it countless times to the other creatures of this world, as they argued or sparred or tried to kill each other. They didn't know what it said, but they knew what it meant. It meant, yield now, and the battle is over. It meant, I will spare you if you acknowledge me the winner.
Who did this insignificant brat think he was? How dare he?!
Second lunged for the little king's face.
First lunged for Second's throat.
Second screamed, as much from shock as pain, and Third echoed it. First spat and dragged his tongue on the ground to get rid of the taste of his own scales.
Snarling, the little king lurched forward; but the bug butted his head again, and he settled back, waiting.
No. Stop. They could kill the little king later. Eventually, this world would burn, and no one in the galaxy would know of their humiliation. But they could kill the little king at any time. If they tried now, it would only take one stray attack to kill the red sprite. They only had this one chance to save him.
Awkward, off-balance, they tried to copy the gesture their red sprite had performed when he'd bowed to them at the base of his own volcano. They bent forward, trying to contort their wings to stretch out to the sides and lie horizontal over the ground at the same time. Their tails stretched behind them over the red sprite in a futile attempt to maintain their center of balance. They had to pull their heads close to their chest to keep from losing their balance and toppling forward, necks arched up painfully—but even though it would be easier to hang their heads upside-down and stare at the ground, they never looked down. They all glared up at the little king.
They yielded. But only this time.
The little king looked down at them, snorted, and roared. Weak blue lights ran up his back plates, but none came from his mouth; it was just to remind them that he could. His victory was confirmed. The battle was over.
He turned away, already trudging tiredly toward the ocean. The bug picked her way over his back plates to turn and watch them as he retreated.
They lost their balance and landed on their knees. Their wings flopped to the ground, followed by Third's head.
Surrender.
They'd surrendered.
They hadn't surrendered since...
(Eons-old memories floated like pale ghosts up and down their spines: cages and airless moons and commands inserted in their heads that they could not refuse to obey.)
They felt nauseous again. Nauseous and furious. Second ground his forehead and nose into the rubble to try to muffle a scream of frustration.
But the red sprite hopped stiffly around in front of them, surveyed the two heads on the ground, then looked up at First and chirped.
First looked back at him tiredly. They wondered when the happiness would begin.
Split Instincts
This is a little McHanzo fic that is inspired by the recent RP I was graciously allowed to spectate by @iblackfeathers and @plucky-pomegranate . They were kind enough to let me run with this amazing prompt! I plan to just post small chapters here on tumblr. Once they are all out and finished I’ll link to AO3. ;) I’m thinking about writing in more character development and FEELS.~~ >u< But, I just couldn’t keep this to myself any longer. Enjoy!! @iblackfeathers also made some rough sketches of Dragon possessed Hanzo too! *permission to post granted by artist*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: Hanzo is caught in an exploding facility while on a mission. Gravely wounded, he falls unconscious in the field and McCree and the others manage to get him back to base. The dragon’s sense his body’s struggle to stay alive and they know they have to do something. To help protect him while he is comatose the dragons take possession of his body and have a little fun whilst he is away.
tags: Pre-relationship, light angst, noodle dragons, McHanzo, future smut
^u^ Enjoy and PLEASE comment!! <3 I live for them!!
Hanzo is fatally wound, the whole left side of his chest is shredded and his lung is punctured and collapsed. He bleeds heavily, quickly losing consciousness. McCree finds him and calls for an emergency extraction. Tracer arrives and they escape under heavy gunfire. McCree is forced to Deadeye for the fifth time to ensure their safety. His eye vessels rupture and blood drips down his cheek. Genji helps him carry Hanzo on board the carrier.
McCree keeps watch over the other man closely. He tells himself it's because of the adrenaline and for Genji.
Angela and her staff are waiting when they land, they rush Hanzo to surgery. he flat lines on the table; three times. Each time Angela just barely brings him back. Finally, after a grueling eight hour invasive surgery he is stable and Angela moves him to an ICU unit and post a nurse outside the small room.
After receiving treatment himself, McCree waits for news on Hanzo. Hanzo is in critical condition. Everyone is denied access to his unit. All the team is allowed is the view from the Plexiglas window or visual update via Athena.
Hanzo lies near motionless, He could be mistaken as dead if not for the faint rise and fall of his chest. His face is marred by bandages, and dried blood. An oxygen tube extends from his throat and mouth.
An odd feeling blooms in McCree’s chest and he feels wetness in his eyes, in his confusion he shoves it away to the back of his mind and wipes away the tears.
He visits sparsely, once a day or so; trying not to arouse suspicion. After three days Angela bans him and everyone from the Unit. Hanzo was teetering on the brink of death and she only allowed authorized personnel in and around the room.
But his thoughts still wondered at night. “Athena.”
“Yes, Agent McCree?”
“Can you show me an update on Agent Shimada’s condition?”
“Yes.” A holoscreen appears in front of him as he raised up in bed. On it showed Hanzo still hooked up to many instruments. The eery beeping creeps to his ear. “Show me his vitals.” A second screen pops up, showing Hanzo’s heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate and a few more.
A sense of dread builds up within him. He fisted his hand in the sheets and then curled into them on his side. “That's enough Athena, thank you.”
“Yes, Agent McCree,” the holoscreens disappear, “Have a good night.”
Listening to the silence, he then closes his eyes and forces himself to sleep.
It's a week before Hanzo shows significant improvement. The flush of his skin returns bit by bit, slowly his breathing becomes more stable and on day thirteen they remove his indo-tracheal tube and replace it with an oxygen mask.
Angela announces she will reopen the unit to visitors only once he is awake, but access to the room is off limits till then.
That night, just back from a small recon mission, McCree finds himself standing in front of the window looking down at the sleeping man. He is relieved to see Hanzo's progress. Though the amount of relief he feels he doesn’t wish to think on. His eyelids droop, It’d had been a stressful but uneventful mission and he was tired. it’s well past three in the morning and he's feeling the weight of his body. The ache in his bones seeps deeper. His knee joint is ablaze demanding reprieve. ‘Just a minute,’ he tells himself as he sits down in one of the waiting chairs across from the window.  ‘I'll rest and then head back.’ He closes his eyes still keeping them locked on the movement of Hanzo's chest.
***
‘Master you are dying. Please allow us to save you. We will give you our strength and carry you where you cannot. Give in to us. We will protect you.”
Floating in the black abyss, Hanzo feels cold and yet he also feels nothing at all, his finger tips burn in the icy black sludge. He is scared.
‘I don’t want to die.’
He gives in, ‘Do whatever you must, by any means necessary.’
Whatever had kept him aloft broke away and he dropped. As he falls one thing comes to his mind, ‘Jesse.’
Then he hits.
***
Hanzo shoots up in the bed. Its blindingly bright, the sterile white room bathed in the sun's morning light sears his eyes.
‘Run!’ He bolts from the bed, not knowing where to go. The machines shrill in a flurry of beeping as he breaks his tubes and wires to them.
‘Hide!’ His instincts scream at him. He screams. He crouches among the hanging curtains, hiding away against the corner of the tiny tiled room.
A door sliding open sounds and footsteps near. ‘FIGHT, HIDE, RUN’
He cries out an call of pure distress, confusion swirling in his head.
***
A nurse enters Hanzo’s room as per usual. But they find the bed empty, equipment tubes loose and machines beeping erratically. Panicked they are about to press the emergency call button when they hear a quiet hiss sound off in the dark corner of the room. They creep hesitantly toward the wall of curtains. A figure lashes out at them as they reveal its slumped form. The nurse runs screaming out of the room. Soon, Dr. Angela walks in. “Mr. Shimada!” she ducks as a obscure piece of medical equipment is thrown at her. “Call for Ana!!” she says to a nurse coming into the room behind her, “we may need to sedate him. ***
A loud crash shakes Mccree awake. He sits up in the chair, back cracking. The morning sun shines harsh on his sleep deprived face. Two nurses fly past him and barge into Hanzo’s room. He follows them with his gaze. They file in carefully as if trying not to startle something. His eyes cast across the room and there, in the corner of the room crouched like an animal is Hanzo. Torn wires and tubes hang from the man as he folds in on himself and hisses at the staff attempting to placate him.
McCree surges up pushing a nurse out of the way of the door and enters.
Slowly he approaches Hanzo. The man is crouched low to the floor, hissing around his oxygen mask, and lashing out at the nurse nearest him.
“Angela what’s going on?” He asks as he passes her.
“I don’t know! My tech says they found him like this. He is going to reopen his stitches if this continued!” She says with desperation in her voice.
McCree kneels closer to the crouched figure.
“Hanzo,” McCree edges closer and offers his hand.
Hanzo whips around and stares straight at him. Then without any warning Hanzo closes the distance.
He pulls himself into McCrees space and nuzzles softly into his neck. Shocked McCree lightly wraps his arms around the man and strokes his back from neck to hip. Humming softly.
Hanzo makes a sound akin to a purr, if that was even possible and curls into him. But still remains jumpy and vigilant of the others in the room.
After a long few minutes the nurse’s attempt again to return Hanzo to his bed. They are met with growls, and demands for them to leave. Ana then walks into the room. “What is wrong, I was called and it sounded urgent.” she asks Angela with worry evident in her tone.
“Hanzo is behaving manically. I fear he may hurt himself or someone else. I called you to assist with sedating him.” Angela turns to the two men, Hanzo growls toward them still clinging to McCree; giving no sign of backing down or complying.
Angela sighs, “He will not let anyone near him other than Agent McCree. I feel it is an extreme but if you could use one of your darts-” a blue streak startles her as she turns back toward Ana.
“All I needed was your verbal approval,” the wise old lady says as she tucks her dart pistol back into her coat lining. Angela turns to see McCree softly laying a swiftly collapsing Hanzo on the floor.
She motions to McCree to return Hanzo to his bed. McCree nods.
The door clicks shut after the two women make their exit and he looks down in his arms at the man now curled completely in half in his lap.
***
McCree sits cross legged on the floor laying Hanzo’s head against his thigh. He sees Hanzo fighting to stay awake. His eyes close and flash open. McCree strokes his hair comfortingly.
“Hanzo, Darlin’, How you feelin?” He asks as he sweeps a pieces of hair from Hanzo’s face.
“We are content,” Hanzo hums as he drifts off succumbing to his exhaustion and the serum.
“We?” Jesse just stares down at him, stroking his hand over the crown of his head.
Care to tell us about Ban's depression and all?
yoko you just had to ask this since i mentioned it to you huh
OF COURSE I CAN TALK ABT IT
this is gonna get long, so ima put it under the cut but theres going to be content warning galore, but itll be tagged
im really not going to beat around the bush here.
i headcanon ban to have depression, but at this point, it seems to me to be implied that he does. would it be professionally diagnosed? fuck no. ban gives less than a shit about himself, i dont think he would be obligated to figure out why he feels hollow or dulled. why life is a bore, and he only ever feels alive in a fight or when hes ‘killed’.
to him its a feeling he can easily shrug off and ignore and he easily puts up a front of being the easy going, out there kind of guy that he is. eccentric and melodious in his tone, fight enthusiastic and seemingly taking his interest in whatever seems convenient at the time. stealing what he wants, even if its the clothes off someones back. drinking ale and laughing it up like no tomorrow until he passes out.
but at the end of the day, hes lonely. hes tired. despite the things that are fun that he does have fun with, its still hard to completely forget the void that he feels and how much duller things seem nowadays ever since the incident in the fairy kings forest.
it only got worse since that day.
his childhood was the start of it all.
his parents neglected him and his sister. his little sister died from starvation at four years old. that was the first time ban felt alone. his parents cared nothing for them. ban was used to try and obtain food for his mother and father, while not being allowed to eat himself. his father would beat him if he did eat. his father would beat him if ban even slept. it wasnt a good environment. ban ran away from home often.
then ban was caught stealing and was sent to prison and that was where he met zhivago and they escaped together. and ban took to secretly meeting zhivago whenever he could and was given food by him to eat. zhivago helped him survive. zhivago taught ban all he needed to know about thieving and even saved his life from starvation and from being kidnapped and almost being sold to a noblewoman who tortured and killed children.
zhivago adopted ban. he referred to ban as his son in a conversation with ban himself. telling him how he had one son named therion who was nothing like ban, a shy kid. and how he had another son named ban who was a troublemaker with a bad mouth.
hearing that made ban happy. and he felt like he had family again.
then one day when they were to do a heist together, ban got impatient and went on his own. and got caught by the guards and was beaten by them. and zhivago was handed two choices: save ban or save therion. ultimately zhivago made his choice and abandoned ban ( he was crying when he made his choice ) for the sake of saving his own son, which he was too late in doing.
that was the second time ban felt alone in the world.
years pass, ban is a bandit now. he goes after the fountain of youth after hearing talk of it in a bar. he enters the fairy kings forest. he persists in getting to the fountain. thats when he meets elaine. and in seven days he grew close to her and helped her battle her seven hundred years of loneliness. and he fell in love with her and was going to bring her brother back to the forest, and make him take her place so ban could take her away.
but then a demon attacked. and elaine, who ban wanted to save with the fountain of youth, fed the water to ban which made him immortal. and he kills the demon, but elaine dies before he can even begin to help her.
that is the third time ban felt alone in the world.
and he was heart broken.
its at this point in time that ban believe he cannot be close to anyone, for they are going to leave him. by dying or by abandoning him. he refuses to fight when he is arrested and accused of a false crime but what can he do. he has no proof against their claim, and they cannot do anything to an immortal being. so he takes the brunt of it all and allows himself to be executed over and over again in his time captured.
its at this point that ban wishes he could die. because he doesnt want to live. not when he had nothing to consider a family from his little sister dying so young, his parents neglecting and abusing him. zhivago was his ideal father, he never held a grudge against the man for abandoning him but it still left a hefty hole for ban to carry. and elaine was killed before him and she used the last of her strength to save him instead of herself.
he was powerless to stop any of this from happening. despite that he was only a child, that he was just a human.
meeting meliodas was another of the happier moments in his life. when the man busted him out of prison, literally punching him through the wall, ban knew immediately that meliodas was someone he did not want to lose. there was an interest gained in this man. ban didnt want meliodas to disappear on him. he didnt want him to leave like the rest.
of course history happens, ban gets imprisoned by the weird fangs when he hears that meliodas had passed ( a lie ). and he endures torture yet again to ease the emptiness that wracks his being. bans stated before that dying is just another part of life for him. a daily occurrence. hes mentioned before that hes felt like dying. that its been a long time since he felt like dying.
it doesnt change the fact that hes felt that way.
there are points in time where ban berates himself. degrades himself. hes called himself a bad person. hes referred to himself as a useless piece of shit. that hes powerless. that hes an awful friend. all in regards to being unable to protect those he loves and cares about.
ban cares little about his own well being. its why he fights as reckless as he does, aside from his immortality. ban does not care about himself. theres nothing he likes about him. theres… nothing. he feels nothing for himself. he doesnt even consider himself human anymore unless hes referred to as one.
one wouldnt even think ban feels or thinks this way considering the way he is, as i said before. its easy to think ban is someone who doesnt feel that way but really its been eating at him for over the entirety of his life. ever since his childhood. ever since elaine died.
and he has terrible ways of coping with it all.
ban drinks himself silly. he lets himself get brutally murdered just come back to life and have it done again when he fights. he seeks out getting arrested to endure torture to feel something than nothing. because hes so tired of feeling nothing.
but in the end, no one except meliodas and elaine ( and king ) are capable of telling really telling bans actual emotions and the way he feels. because around them he drops the face of the fox sin everyone knows. because hes tired. hes empty. he can fake a smile and really well at that. he can put on the face of excitement, the outgoing personality and passion he can exude when needed. but at the end of the day, those feelings and thoughts are still there.
ban has, since gaining immortality, fantasized about death. idealized it. wished he could die. because being immortal is boring. living and dying near constantly runs dry after a time and to think that dying is a daily part of life now is cruel to him when he wakes up like nothing happened.
it was worse when the rumor meliodas had died got around, after hed finally learned to be happy again after the loss of elaine.
when he learned meliodas was indeed alive, and was busted out of baste dungeon to reunite with meliodas, he was happy again.
when the ten commandments and demon clan were released from their seal, and melascula using her magic with the venegeful soul revival, elaine was resurrected and ban was able to reunite with her too, after quelling her anger and hate towards those who had spent their time around ban when she could note and melascula still being kept alive kept elaine alive.
ban was made all the more happier then, too.
but elaine can read bans heart like fairies can. meliodas can read ban like a book because theyre best friends and meliodas understands ban just as ban understands him. and hes able to be open with them, more so than anyone else.
they are the only two he can really be truthful with in regards to his emotions because they are the only two that he trusts enough to let his guard down around and let them see the side that he hides from everyone else.
because he doesnt need more people worrying or whatever in his mind. he doesnt need peoples concerns when hes fine by technicality because hes immortal and nothing will ever come of anything even if he tried to do something. his sense of self-worth is abyssal, he cares so little about himself. hed rather everyone around him be okay and happy than have people worrying over him because its something hes felt for a long time, a very long time. something hes dealt with all on his own ( until elaine and meliodas came into his life ) and hed rather not include anymore people in it.
ban has gotten the short and shit end of the stick too many times to count. hes lost people. hes been unable to save people. he feels powerless in situations he cant do anything to change or fix. he berates himself over these things.
and he tries to keep others out of it because its not something they should deal with, its his own problem. but its hard to deal with it when he doesnt want to. he wants it to go away, he wants to stop feeling and thinking it. but its hard when its constant and he cant do anything about it. aside from drown himself in ale and liquor. and fight so recklessly and with abandon because hell be fine, hell come out unscathed and it gives him something to better focus his energy on than the hollow dull ache in his chest.
thats about the long and short of it
