No but like, if MCU-Sharon really does end up being a villain, I need these St*cky-turned-SamB*cky shippers and B*cky stans to realize that those two wouldn’t hate Sharon and turn their back on her.
I know that’s something y’all weirdos want them to do cuz y’all have hated Sharon from the moment she joined the MCU, but like… These are the same dudes that had several chances to kill Karli when she was doing crazy shit, BUT THEY DIDN’T!
Why? Because they knew that deep down, she was just hurting and taking her anger out on the world, but they believed she could change and do better! So if they’d do that for Karli, why wouldn’t they do the same for Sharon?
Anyways, I can't wait for Secret Invasion to confirm that FATWS-Sharon Carter is either a Skull or working undercover for Fury as the Power Broker! Then we can finally move on from this villain-Sharon bullshit and I can get back the Sharon I know and love 😁

(TFATWS) Bucky x Reader: Protective- Part 2
Tumblr media
   (Link to Part 1)
You exhaled in relief as you moved to walk beside Sam, looping your arm with his.  It was admittedly more comfortable since you and Sam went back years.  As the group neared the bar, Bucky became more rigid as he took on the appearance of his role.  Zemo led the way, standing as tall and confidently as someone who had the Winter Soldier for a bodyguard.
Sam exhaled sharply once the other two continued on their way, mumbling under his breath, “good ol’ Sam.  Always putting out fires.”  He gave your hand a squeeze.  “You good?”
   “Yeah, you?”
“So far.  I wouldn’t say I’m totally into this plan, but hey, Zemo’s the expert I guess.”
“An expert at being annoying sometimes,” you muttered.  Sam chuckled.
You took a deep breath and put on a smirk, forcing your shoulders to relax a bit.  You caught the sight of several armed individuals scrutinizing the crowd.  You avoided eye contact and instead stole glances at Bucky.  He was already in the zone.
Zemo set foot in the bar and uttered a few words in Russian- ones that you knew to be control words.  Several pairs of eyes were drawn to your group.  “Winter Soldier” was in the mix of whispers.  So many people appeared to be fascinated by the idea of having a human being under their control.  So many of these people hungrily watched your group pass through.  It was a struggle to keep from bristling with alarm.  The pounding music and bright lights only added to the stress, but you kept your cool as you shuffled past several unsavory characters.
A man with large glasses behind the bar approached.
“Hello, gentlemen.”  He nodded in your direction.  “Ma’am.  Wasn’t expecting you, Smiling Tiger.”
You remained at Sam’s side, arm looped with his, and pretended to give him an affectionate look.
“His plans changed,” Zemo answered smoothly.  “We have business to do with Selby.”
The man hesitated, giving Sam an uncertain glance.  “The usual?”
Sam nodded, and the man’s eyes flickered between the two of you before he set to work on preparing a drink.  You nearly froze as he reached into a jar for a dead snake and started slicing it open.  Sam caught your gaze, his eyes widening ever-so-slightly to show you his discomfort at the situation, and you returned the silent cry for help with a subtle shrug.
“Ah,” Zemo broke the silent exchange with a smug look.  “Smiling Tiger, your favorite.”
The glass of alcohol and snake innards was placed on the counter, and you feigned an impressed look while Sam gave Zemo one final glare before picking up the glass.
“I love these,” he stated, though it wasn’t very convincing.
   “Cheers, Conrad.”
You bit your lip to hide your amusement as Sam hesitated, tipping the glass back only to pull it away as he gathered his courage.  Finally, he gulped the revolting beverage and grunted as he struggled to keep it down.
Another man approached Zemo from behind, not going unnoticed by you.  You kept smiling and pretending to be oblivious, though you turned so one ear was closer to the exchange to listen.
“I got word from on-high,” the man said.  ”You ain’t welcome here.”
Zemo turned to face him fully.  “I have no business with the Power Broker, but if he insists, he can either come talk to me...” He gestured to Bucky, who leaned against the counter with a scowl.
   “New haircut?”
“Or bring Selby for a chat.”
The bearded stranger glowered before sauntering away, and Zemo turned around shaking his head in annoyance.  Bucky’s expression lost a degree of harshness.
   “A Power Broker?  Really?”
“Every kingdom needs its king.”  He sighed.  “Let’s just pray we stay under his radar.”
“Do you know him?” Sam asked.
“Only by reputation.  In Madripoor, he is judge, jury, and executioner.”
“Lovely,” you mumbled.  Before you could comment further, Zemo turned around and calmly called Bucky to attention.  The second an individual laid their hands on the baron, Bucky marched forward to grab their wrist with his metal arm, twisting it as he pushed them back. He glanced over his shoulder at the three of you before using his other arm to lock the attacker into a hold.  Something cracked as the man went straight down to the floor, groaning.
Your heart raced.  You knew Bucky had the situation under control.  It was still unsettling to see him in a fight, especially using such lethal combat moves.  His eyes seemed to go blank as he executed his next attack on another individual that launched themselves at him.  The man went flying to the floor, and Bucky gave him a swift kick that sent him rolling.  Zemo took hold of another attacker approaching from behind and sent him Bucky’s way.
A hand rested over yours, and you realized that you had been clutching Sam’s suit sleeve.   He leaned in a little to utter words of reassurance.  “Don’t worry, he’s got this.”
That’s what worried you.  He ended the fights so quickly, so easily, with ferocity that you hadn’t seen since he fell under Zemo’s control before.  Despite his words, you knew Sam noticed too.  The first time you both even met Bucky was when he was the Winter Soldier.  Back then, you had no idea of the person that was underneath all that.
“Didn’t take much for him to fall back into form,” Zemo commented.  As if on cue, Bucky dragged a man by the throat to lay him on the bar with his metal arm.  Choking sounds filled the room for a few seconds until you started hearing the click of guns being cocked and ready to shoot.
On instinct, both you and Sam separated to intervene, but Zemo shot both of you warning glances.  “Stay in character,” he said quietly, “or the whole bar turns on us.” Sam took his hand from Bucky’s shoulder, and instead took your hand again.  Zemo turned to Bucky and spoke the words in Russian to end the attack.
“Selby will see you now,” the bartender said.
   “Thank you.”
Bucky finally released his hold, and the man gasped for air as he crumbled to the floor.  Sam took the opportunity to look Bucky in the eyes.  “You good?”
Bucky merely exhaled sharply in confirmation, eyes falling to you for the first time since setting foot in that place.  Something flickered in them before he turned and followed after Zemo.
- - - - - - - -
You slipped out of the dress and began changing into the new clothes Sharon provided, glad that this outfit was a little more on the casual side.  Both you and Sam struggled to keep up in heels after the Selby fiasco.  It was a relief to finally kick them off your feet.  You stared at your reflection in the full-length mirror after you were dressed.  What an evening it was turning out to be.  An undercover mission turned into a firefight and an escape with the help of an old ally.  Fortunately, Zemo had been able to get a name out of Selby.  The next step was finding Dr. Nagel.
You emerged from the room to see Bucky leaning against the wall beside your door, already changed.  He looked up from the floor upon your approach.
   “Hey,” you greeted.  “You okay?”
   “Yeah.  You hurt at all?”
“Thanks to Sharon, I made it out without so much as a scratch.”
Bucky nodded in agreement, shifting so that he leaned on his other shoulder.  He averted his eyes and scratched the back of his neck.  His lips parted, but no sound came out when he met your gaze.  You waited patiently.
“Look, I wanted to talk about earlier.  About Zemo.  About me and how I acted.”
   “It’s okay…”
   “No, it’s not.  Not really.”
“Zemo has been trying his best to push our buttons,” you pointed out.  “Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn’t.”
“It’s not just that.”  Bucky tipped his head back to rest it against the wall.  “Zemo knows things about me- things that I’d rather you hear from me directly instead of through his weird mind games.”
Concern bubbled up inside of you.  What sort of things was he talking about?  Were there indeed more signs of the Winter Soldier lurking underneath?  Did Zemo have something over Bucky?
“I don’t understand,” you murmured, heart aching for him, as you reached out a hand.  Your fingers brushed through the short hair on the side of his head, and his eyes fell closed as he allowed the contact, even leaned into it.  Casual contact wasn’t uncommon between you two: the occasional brush of hands when passing something to the other, feeling his chest against your back when taking cover during firefights, or even on really good days a light punch to the shoulder with a laugh.  This was different, though.  This wasn’t a line you’d crossed before in the time you’d known him.  “I don’t understand, but you know you can tell me anything.”
His eyes opened, and he angled his head to look at you fully.  “I know.”  Then, he pushed off the wall, gently taking your hand from his hair.  He held it in his own and studied your expression as he continued.
“Zemo knows what you mean to me.  You, specifically.  I don’t know what you’d call it.  I don’t even want to say you’re my weakness because… the truth is, you’re my strength.”
Your lips parted at the tender words that you’d certainly not been expecting.  Bucky held your stare, though his mouth turned up briefly in a nervous smile.
“I know I probably sound ridiculous right now.  Here we are in the middle of a mission.  The thing is, every time we put ourselves at risk, I wanted to tell you.  But every time, I waited because, well, I still wasn’t right for a while.  It took time to be purged from the Winter Soldier.  Now, I just don’t have it in me to keep this from you any longer.”
You offered a smile, though part of you was scared to hope.  Was this confession merely the result of the stress of Steve’s absence?  Zemo’s taunts?  You didn’t want this if that were the case.  “Are you sure this is how you feel?  I’m sure Zemo’s games haven’t really been helping.”
“Trust me, he doesn’t have anything to do with this,” Bucky shook his head.  “I just don’t like him bothering you.  At all.”  He sighed.  “I’ve felt this way for a long time, ________.  Before the snap.  I know we weren’t here for those five years, but I came back thinking about you.  Haven’t stopped since.”
Your eyes had begun to water as emotion gripped you.  Suddenly, it was hard to swallow, and it was hard to look at him when it registered that you were indeed crying.  You tried to hide your face, and Bucky put an arm around you to pull you to his chest.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he mumbled.  “Obviously, you don’t have to feel the same way.  I’m not mad.  Just please, don’t cry.”
“What?” you sniffled.  “No…”  You pulled away to face him with teary eyes and all.  “I do feel the same way.  I just can’t believe you do too.”
He exhaled, pulling you to his chest again, and chuckled at the end.  “You had me there for a second.  But seriously, it would’ve been okay if you didn’t feel the same way.  I just had to tell you.”  He searched your face as if still unsure, as if giving you another opportunity to retract your confession.  Like you’d ever do that.
With your hand still in his, you lifted the other to brush the stubble and rest on his cheek.  He raised his gloved vibranium hand to cover that one.  His eyes were magnetic, drawing you in.  Seconds passed before your lips met in a warm kiss that made you feel like you were flying.  He pulled away, keeping his forehead pressed against yours.  A smile unlike one you’d seen in a long time on him spread across his face.  Both of you chuckled quietly in the hall.  Despite what was going on in the world, at that moment, you felt so giddy.  You let out another chuckle as his stubble brushed your chin as he kissed you again.
“Oh, well then.”  A female cleared her voice further down the hall, and both of you parted to see Sharon standing there with her hands in her pockets.  “This is a new development.”  She raised her brows at you.  “Everyone’s changed.  We’re heading down to the party so I can ask around about Nagel.”
“Okay,” you nodded.  “Thank you, Sharon.”
“Uhuh.”  She turned to head back out, pausing to give you another pointed look.  “Watch out for these types.  They sometimes have a habit of kissing you and then never calling.”
You winced at the comment as she disappeared around the corner.  Bucky’s eyebrows raised as he let out an awkward whistle.  “Wow.”
“I understand where she’s coming from,” you mumbled.  “I can’t believe all this time she was out here, and Steve just...”
“I know,” Bucky said gently.  “Anyway, we’ve gotta’ go.”  He held your hand and began to lead the way down the hall, though stopped when you hesitated.   “You think she’ll say anything to the others about...um…?”
“Doesn’t matter.”  He shrugged.  “I’m just glad it wasn’t Zemo, or else we wouldn’t hear the end of it.”

Hey there
Favourite falcon and winter soldier scenes?
Hi!!😄❤❤
It's funny you ask about that, I just finished the series for the umpteenth time haha!
Thank you for being patient, I went episode by episode and today has been super hectic😅
Literally every Bucky and Sam scene!
But for realsies:
Ep 1 New World Order
The face Bucky makes when trying to get Yori to calm down. I love seeing him emote; his expressions always fascinate me because The Winter Soldier had next to no expressions, and Bucky has no idea what to do with his face. Bless him.
Tumblr media
I think one of my favorite things is the kind of parallel between what Bucky does vs what Dr. Raynor says. "Don't do anything illegal." *Proceeds to do something illegal* We love a chaotic boy.
Oh my god Sam's little bird wave took me out!!
Tumblr media
Ep 2 The Star-Spangled Man
"Who we fighting now, Gandalf?" Totally confirms that our boy is a nerd™️
Bucky's relationship with Red Wing. When he bats at it like a cat😂
Tumblr media
The way he thinks about Red Wing reminds me of how Natasha views it.
Ep 3 Power Broker
When Sharon fights!! Although she isn't my favorite character (there's so much they could have done with her and Van Camp does a lovely job) she kicks ass. Can't deny that!
Tumblr media
The entire sequence of Winter Soldier mode when Bucky fights in that bar. Like please sir, step on me.
Tumblr media
Sam's outfit! And the "I can't run in these heels!!!"
Tumblr media
Freaking Zemo popping up in that car like a cocky mofo😂
Tumblr media
Ep 4 The Whole World Is Watching
The beginning scene that makes me cry every time I see it. That moment when you can see Bucky break free of his "rotted fur," where you can see the relief in his eyes and a genuine smile on his face. One that probably hadn't been seen in a very long time.
Oh my God my absolute favorite thing of the whole series is when Zemo is talking about super soldiers and talks about a powerful group can form things like the naz*s and the Avengers and Sam says "Hey, those are our friends you're talking about."
And Bucky says "The Avengers, not the naz*s" I LOSE IT EVERY TIME I SEE THAT like of course we needed clarification, Bucky😂
When the Dora Milaje are fighting with Walker and Hoskins, and Zemo takes a drink, Sam comments on making a move and Bucky, oh, Bucky, says "Looking strong, John!"
When Karli is threatening Sarah and as soon as Sam says "Take the boys." Bucky immediately whips his head in Sam's direction, I love that he's protective.
Tumblr media
Ep 5 Truth
Where Bucky is about to shoot Zemo and doesn't. I just-I-GROWTH. I love it!! The little self-satisfied smirk as the bullets fall from his palm.
The talk between Isaiah and Sam. Carl Lumbly honestly stole the show in every scene he was in, he's highly underrated. I wish he'd gotten more attention for this role.
Each time Bucky showed off his strength on the boat!
Tumblr media
Ep 6 One World, One People
When they call him Sergeant Barnes🥺 Makes my heart soar!
Sam catching the artillery(?) truck with the council inside and Bucky being extremely proud of him.
Tumblr media
"I don't fly man that's your thing." *Revs motorcycle* OOH ALSO when he's riding and hits that concrete wall, launching himself at one of the Flag Smashers! Also Natasha vibes👀
When one of the men thanks him for saving them and the shock on his beautiful face. Like yes baby, you deserve that.
Sam's speech at the end. Something I think we need to hear in the real world❤
Thank you so much for the ask!!❤❤❤

Onto It
Tumblr media
Characters:
TFATWS!Bucky Barnes x Avenger!Reader
Summary:
Bucky and Sam are both in New York to finish their mission with the power broker, turns out to be Sharon Carter. The latter is not just the villain in this story, but you once got jealous of her as well when she tried to seduce your man.
Warning:
Swearing
Jealousy
Mention of Smut
"You know you could just call Bucky instead of being a grumpy old lady in here," Wanda pointed out as you accidentally dropped your pen for fifth time.
You and Wanda are doing some mission report in the house that you share together, the reports that you and Wanda are reading and discussing has something to do with the mission two had last week. But your mind is not completely concentrated to whatever the report says. Your mind is in New York, thinking of your man, Bucky Barnes.
"Come on, y/n," Wanda handed you your phone, "Just call him already. I know you're worried about the fact that he and Sam is there in New York to deal with the Sharon Carter," she raised her two hands to make air-quotation-marks upon mentioning Sharon's name.
You used to have no problem with Sharon, you actually wanted her to and Steve to enjoy each other's company before. But that was before. Before that witch became a villain in your lives. All along she is the power broker and she made a fool out of you all. Not just that, she even tried to seduce Bucky because she wanted to cover up her real identity. She put a substance on Bucky's drink to drug him and make it look like something happened to them, but before she could pull off her plan, you and Sam were able to stop her, however she escaped.
"Sam and Bucky are in New York to take that woman down, so I shouldn't feel worried about it anymore," you confidently said, realizing that Bucky promised that there's only woman in his life and that's you.
The two of you started dating a year ago now, but both of you just want to keep it unlabeled for now. But you won't deny the fact that you have been wanting to take it to the next level. There were times when you would ask yourself what is your right to get jealous if there's someone trying to steal your man, he's not even yours to begin with.
"Aren't you guys getting tired of the unlabeled thingy?" Wanda asked you as he closes the folder she's holding, "I mean, no offense, okay? But you clearly like each other. You guys have been dating for a year now and don't you think it's a bit unfair on your part?"
"Unfair, why?" you questioned her. "Wanda, it is also my choice to put it this way. We don't want to rush things about us," you explained.
"Yeah, I know that you guys are confident with your relationship as exclusively dating, but it's better to put label in it. Trust me, you should do it while you still can," she reached for you hand and gave it a squeeze as she smiles at you, "Vis and I didn't have much time. So you and Bucky should make it lasts while you can."
You can sense pain in Wanda's voice. It must've really hard for her to move on and accept her and Vision's fate. If you were in her place, you don't know what will make you stay in your sanity.
Wanda has always been a good friend to you. She has always give you advices and her presence in your life makes you understand the things you were having a hard time understanding, like love itself.
"Do you want some coffee?" Wanda asked you as she stood up from her seat, "I'll probably order some food as well, I'm starving."
Just when Wanda's about to leave to order food and coffee, your phone rang.
B U C K Y calling...
"Seems like your guy cannot live in a day without hearing your voice," Wanda teased before she made her way out, leaving you alone inside the family room.
You grabbed your phone and answered the call of your unofficial boyfriend.
"Hey, I've been texting you, but you're not replying. Are you okay?" he asked as soon as you accepted his call.
"Oh, yeah," you saw the multiple messages that came from him, but you weren't able to see it because you were too preoccupied with the reports and the fact that Sharon Carter is bugging your mind, "Sorry, just got a little mixed up with the mission reports. Wanda and I have been reading it for almost 2 hours."
First of all, you did not want to tell him about your issue with Sharon Carter, although he's already aware of it and he knows already that you got jealous and really angry of her for what happened. Second, you did not want him to feel like you don't trust him.
"How's the mission?" you asked him, changing the topic.
"Well, we finally caught Sharon red-handed. She's in custody right now and the investigation about her will start first thing in the morning tomorrow," he said. Even though they've already taken Sharon down, he and Sam have to stay in New York for a few more days since they have to stay for the investigation, "You, alright?"
You hate it when he knows something's wrong with you or something's bothering your mind. He can already sense it just by the way you breath or speak.
"You know that I know you already, right? So, tell me, what's bothering you?" he questions.
The sigh you let out confirmed his hunch, you're not gonna get away with it anyway so you might as well fire with it. You've always been so honest with him anyway.
"I'm just not so comfortable with the fact that Sharon Carter witch, God, I hope Agent Peggy Carter will forgive me for telling bad words about her niece," you heard him chuckle in the other end. "But God, I can't just forget what she did to you, what she almost did to you."
"You mean when she almost raped me?" he joked.
"Look, Bucky, it's not really funny, okay?" you groaned as you hear him chuckle again on the other line.
"I get it, y/n. Okay? I get it. You have to stop worrying about it, okay? It won't happen ever again. Besides, after this mission, I won't be involved in anything about Sharon anymore. And I also want to take you out again, something that I haven't done for a while now," he reassured you.
It's true that two of you haven't gone on a date for quite some time, as both of you got busy with different things, especially in saving the world and humankind. But it's not really something that bothers you. He still makes you feel special in different ways.
"Buck," you remembered what Wanda advised you and you know you had to open it up to Bucky as soon as you could, "Can we also talk about us when you get back?" you hesitantly asked.
"What do you mean talk about us?" he sounded worried. You closed your eyes as you asked yourself if you did the right thing of opening it up to him this early, "Y/n, do you want us to stop? 'Cause if you do, you can just tell me now."
"Bucky, no," you answered immediately. God knows that's the very last thing you want to happen. You didn't want to lose him. "I just...I...I am...fuck!" you swore, you don't know how to tell him about it.
"Y/n, what's happening? Just tell me so we could do something about it."
You sighed as you prepare yourself to tell everything to him, "I know I was the one who told you and suggested that we should just do the unlabeled relationship because it's much easier that way, and it really was. We did not feel any pressure. We did not feel we have to rush or something, but I just got tired of it. I got tired of it the moment Sharon asked me a few months ago when the incident happened that what is my right to get jealous, to get mad, we're not even in a relationship. It hit me. That question fucking hit me. And here's Wanda telling me how we should make everything last while we can and I feel so guilty that we're taking our time for granted knowing that she and Vision did not get to their happy ending." You took a deep breath and closes your eyes for a second, "I didn't mean to pressure you or anything Bucky, I really don't. I just don't want to take what we have for granted."
After you let your feelings out, it took a few seconds before Bucky could finally answer you. His silence made you nervous but the moment you heard him chuckle, you felt a little relief.
"You're right, we should talk about us when I get back. I should put label to our relationship and I shouldn't make you feel that we're nothing, because you really mean the world to me, y/n. And it's about time we put this whole thing we have in the right pedestal," his words made you ease the embarassment and the awkwardness you're feeling. "Just stop thinking about Sharon, okay? I don't give a damn about her. The whole time I'm away from you all I think is how I would kiss your lips and every inch of your body."
You laughed by the fact that he's thinking of making love to you while he shove off the idea of Sharon Carter or any woman in his life, because there's only one woman in his life and that's you.
"You know I like it when I see you so possessive of me, makes me so eager to fuck you until you realized that you're the only woman I give a fuck," you could clearly hear him he was whispering.
You went out of the family room and went up to your room, giving you more privacy since the man you're talking to right now is starting to propose phone sex.
"Is it just me or you're whispering?" you innocently asked.
"Well, I'm not now. I just got inside my car so," he paused for a moment, "So prepare yourself 'cause I'll make you so wet that you'll wish I'm beside you tonight to attend to your needs."
"You wish," you teased him. "Come home first and I'll cum for you, you tease."
He chuckled, "I'm onto it, sweetheart. I'll ask Sam if I could leave early."
"And what excuse will you tell him?" you asked.
"I'll tell him that I need to make Y/N Y/L/N officially mine, officially my girlfriend. I'll also tell him that there's someone I need to help with her sexual needs," he's joking on the last part but his first sentence made your heart shiver and so excited at the same time.
"That's exciting, and tempting," you teased him back. "Why don't you start pumping your cock and imagine that I'm doing it for you? While I lay here in my bed, thinking of your vibranium fingers making me whimper and moan your fucking name?"
"You're killing me," he groaned and that gave you the sign that he's already pumping himself. "Remind me to punish you for teasing me like this when I get back."
Wanda is right. You should never waste the time you and Bucky have. You should never take anything for granted. Bucky told you that you mean the world to him, and he makes you feel that way, not just sexually, but in romantic way. He would swept you off of your feet. He would do anything for you. That is why if there's someone who'll ask you who are you in James Buchanan Barnes' life, you would just simply answer that you're the love of his life. Too proud to claim it but that's the truth.
No woman can ever make you feel threatened of her anymore, as Bucky claim you his and you claim him as yours day by day, night by night.

hello! could i get a bucky barnes x reader with fluff/angst prompt 1? somewhere along the lines of miscommunication between them??
Hi anon! I’m not sure if what I wrote is exactly what you were looking for but I tried my best. I hope you like it!
---
Bucky Barnes x Reader
Prompt #1 Angst/Fluff “It’s you. It’s always been you.”
Warnings: angsty if you squint and put on glasses, *TFATWS spoilers*, nothing else
Prompt list can be found HERE!
A/N: I haven’t wrote anything like a fic in a long time but I tried my best. I’m pretty proud of it and I think it’s alright but there is room for improvement.
****
We settled into Sharon’s apartment for refuge after we had killed Selby. Having every bounty hunter in the city looking for the three of us had made it slightly difficult to maneuver around Madripoor. Killing Selby was never apart of the plan but some little part of me was glad it happened because I did not want to see Bucky taken and possibly brainwashed all over again. Those memories were hard enough for him to suppress right now, as is.
Sharon looked around the room at us and her eyes landed on Bucky. “I haven’t seen you in a long time, Bucky. You look good. The short hair suits you”, she said subtly fluttering her eyelashes at him as she poured a drink. “Uhm thank you ma’am”, Bucky said glancing slightly over her figure watching as she took a sip from her drink.
Sam looked around the room and noticed that I was getting antsy in my seat over the interaction. He mouthed a simple “Are you okay?”. I looked over letting my eyes switch in-between Bucky and Sharon and notioned my head to the two of them with a questioning look. Sam smiled, or more like grimaced and nodded his head. I looked over to the side once again, but finally decided to nod my head sending him the most convincing smile as I could muster.
Sharon had announced there would be a party where she would meet with some associates about her art collection and try and find out more information about the doctor who had been creating the serum for the power broker. She lent me and sam some clothes seeing as how we were the most oddly dressed between the four of us. Before she left to prepare for the party she brushed her hand over Bucky’s clothed right shoulder and a twinge of pink could be seen on his cheeks.
Sam knew the feelings I held for Bucky and thought Bucky had some reserved ones for me. He stood up and announced he was going to see if Sharon needed any help and to keep an eye on Zemo. Everyone knew Sharon would decline his help quickly because he knew nothing of the dynamics of the party or what would be happening but nonetheless he walked out of the living space.
Bucky looked over at me and smiled. I gave him a look that somewhat resembled a scowl. He noticed the shift in my behavior but chocked it up as me being tired from the previous excursions of the mission.
“You know if you want to take a nap you can come over here on the couch and sit with me. We’ll have Zemo take the chair.” Bucky said with a soft look on his face. I didn’t want his sympathy if he thought I couldn’t handle this mission. I would not be coddled by him.
“No, I think I’ll sit right here in this uncomfortable ass chair. I’d rather deal with it than Sharon’s jealousy of me sitting so close to you.” Bucky looked stunned by the sudden outburst and snakiness that had came from me but I couldn’t bring myself to fight with him right now whenever his eyebrows furrowed up and his mouth opened and then closed as if he had so much but so little he wanted to say to me.
I turned my back in the chair and faced towards the window, not wanting to see the gears in Bucky’s head turning right now. It was silent for a good 5 minutes before Zemo announced he was going to the restroom. Bucky didn’t even threaten him, just waved him off with a hand gesture towards the bathroom.
After a few more seconds of silence, I was the one who broke it. “I thought back in the day Sharon was all choked up on Steve, not you.” Bucky spoke directly after that and said, “What do you mean by that (y/n).” “I think you know exactly what I mean, the starstruck look in her eyes was all I needed to confirm my suspicion after her comment over your hair.”
“It was just a compliment, (y/n). I don't think she meant anything by it.” I could see Bucky was trying very hard to keep his composure because he was never good with talking about feelings. He would much rather brood than tell anybody what went on in his head. After a few seconds of contemplation on his part he finally decided to speak.
“(Y/N) do you think I like her? She can look all she wants but she can’t have anything from me.” “What do you mean by that Bucky.” I said looking up at him with a little bit of hope shimmering behind my eyes.
“I clearly meant I like Sam, (y/n)” He said with a mischievous expression. “That’s not funny, Buck, and you know it’s not.” I said trying to hide my snicker. “You know what is funny, (y/n), that you can't see already that it’s you. It’s always been you. You are the one I want. You are the one I lay awake in bed thinking about whenever I can't sleep because of the nightmares. You are the only person that my therapist ever asked about besides Sam because you are the only person whose texts I respond to. You’re the one (y/n).”
By the time he was done with his little speech, he had walked right infront of me  and pulled me up out of my chair gently. “You gone kiss me or what, Buck, Ive been waiting for you to make your move for what feels like a lifetime.” Right after I said that Bucky closed the gap between us and placed a soft and gentle kiss to my lips.
Zemo walked out of the bathroom with a slight snicker to his voice. “About time,” he muttered in his thick accent.
“Shut up”, me and Bucky yelled at the same time.
Looking at Bucky after the kiss, I had never felt so much love, admiration, and joy in one person for me. This Madripoor trip was definitely worth it and Sam’s going to hear all about it on the plane ride home.

Lab Rat
Tumblr media
Author’s note: Y/DOB- Your Date of Birth
Some say that the downfall of man is hubris. Lab Rat disagrees. She thinks that it’s curiosity. Curiosity led to Father’s experiments, poking and prodding as she grew up, recreating the serum and studying the effects on the subject growing up with the serum. If the program proved successful could create a whole generation of super soldiers, correcting the sterilization of the original. The disgraced doctor was successful but soon ran low on funds. At age five, Lab Rat read her own name, Y/n L/N and Y/DOB on a series of government papers. Desperate for funds, he sold her to the Power Broker.
Now she sits in the lab of Dr. Nagel, the Power Broker’s official researcher. The Doctor claims his serum is the perfect one, more subtle. Lab Rat disagrees, but keeps her thoughts to herself. Speaking out of turn resulted in a loss of food, as did asking questions. A lot of actions lead to food being taken away: escaping restraints, reading, not cooperating. Dr. Nagel preferred to keep the experiment in a constant sway between hunger and exhaustion. Less problems to deal with as she’s quiet when unconscious.
Y/n struggles to lift her head up and sip from the bottle. With hands shaking she laps up the water trying not to spill it on herself. The calendar across the room reads Y/DOB. Her eyes adjust to the light.
“I’m coming home baby, now” Dr. Nagel sings to himself.
Her stomach rumbles loudly.
“Food.” Lab Rat grunts rubbing her eyes.
“Do Do Do.” Dr. Nagel scats not paying attention to Lab Rat.
“Food!” She repeats louder, taking a risk, if he’s to kill her it would be prefered more than this continued treatment.
Dr. Nagel ignores her screams. Lab Rat lays down waiting for the familiar feeling of her eyes being heavy and the room beginning to spin. She sees three men enter the room and looks wide eyed at them. Lab Rat sits up and pushes herself to the corner. The restraints pull against her arms, pinning her in place.
“Dr. Nagel?”
“Who are you? What do you want?”
“We know you created the serum.”
“Get out of my lab!”
As two men question the doctor, a third stays behind with Lab Rat.
She’s shaking bracing herself for any harm to come. Sometimes others would visit the lab, and they weren’t the nicest.
“Liebling, are you hurt?” The man in a fur coat kneels down beside her.
“No..food.”
“We should get these restraints off you, first then food.”
Lab Rat looks at her hands then shakily bends the restraints off the wall and breaks the wrist shackles off, then her feet.
“Very strong, Libeling.” The man rummages in his coat and pulls out a candy. “ This is all I have right now.”
Lab Rat looks questioningly at the man before unwrapping the sweet and popping it into her mouth, the powdered sugar covering her lips. Zemo offers Y/n his arm and steadies the shakily legged woman as the two join Sam and Bucky.
“Not to interrupt but I found someone.” Zemo gestures towards Y/n.
His hand leaves her and she nearly falls.
“You know who this is right, This is Baron Zemo. I know you’ve heard of him, too, right? You seem like a pretty smart guy. So you better become conversational real quick.”
“How about a counter proposal? Make me a better offer and I’ll talk.
“Guys we have company.”
Bucky takes his gun and shoots near the Doctor’s head.
“Okay. Okay. I was brought into HYDRA’s Winter Soldier program to pick up their work after the five failed test subjects in Siberia. When HYDRA fell, I was recruited by the CIA. They had blood samples from an American test subject with semi-stable traces of serum in his system. After much labor, I was able to isolate the necessary compounds in his blood. I was a god. I did what no other scientist since Erskine was able to do. But mine was going to be different. No clunky machines or jacked up bodies. Mine was going to be subtle, optimized, perfect.”
“And the woman?” Sam asks.
“Not my serum, but she’s a gift from the Power Broker.”
At the mention of the Power Broker, Lab Rat bristles and stalks towards the Doctor. Zemo gently grabs her shoulder.
“How have we never heard of this?”
“Because… Before I was able to complete my work, I turned to dust. Then when I returned, it was five years later, program had been abandoned, so I came here. The Power Broker was more than happy to fund the recreation of my work.”
“How many vials did you make?
“Twenty. Karli Morgenthau stole those, so… I can only imagine what the Power Broker has planned for that poor girl.”
“Where is Karli now?” Sam asks.
“Not my pig, not my farm.”
The gun fire outside gets louder. Lab Rat shakily grabs at Zemo’s arm.
“Is there any serum in the lab?” Bucky asks then raising his gun again.
“No.”
“Now what.”
“Guys we’re seriously out of time.” Sharon runs in.
Zemo shoots Dr.Nagel in the head.
“No! What did you do!” Sam yells at Zemo.
An explosion sends Sam, Bucky and Sharon on one side of the container. Zemo and the new woman on the other.
Zemo grabs Y/n and runs out clouded by the smoke.
“Anybody see Zemo?” Sam asks running with Bucky and Sharon.
“No but he has a super soldier as a hostage. We gotta find her, she could help us.” Bucky answers.
“I take it Liebling, that you are enhanced.” Zemo looks behind to her following him.
Lab Rat nods catching her breath from the running.
“Once we are safe you can have any food you want.”Zemo offers.
“Food.”
“Yes, food. Follow me.”
“Okay.”
The two of them begin to clear a way for Sam and Bucky. Zemo detonates an explosive while the other woman knocks the men out, she grabs one’s gun and hits him with the butt of it before shooting others.
“She’s definitely a super-soldier. Go, let’s go.” Bucky adds telling Sharon and Sam to go thanks to their clearing the way.
“What is your name?” Lab Rat asks as the two stop by a shipping container.
“Helmut, Zemo.” He takes off his purple mask. “And your’s.”
“Lab Rat, but it’s Y/n. No one has ever called me Y/n though.”
“ Well Y/n, pick a color: yellow, blue or red.”
After some thought Y/n replies “ Blue.”
“Hop in.” Zemo opens the storage container and inside sits a blue vintage car.
Y/n hops in the car and the two ride it out of the unit and round the corner stopping in front of Sam, Bucky, and Sharon.
“Supercharged.”
“You’re going back to jail.”
“Do you want to find Karli or not?”
“He’s right. We need him. And there’s two of us and twenty of them.”
“There is another super soldier, this is Y/n.” Zemo gestures towards her.
“Hello, I’d be willing to help on one condition.” Y/n adds.
“What is it?” Bucky asks.
“You two help me find the Power Broker.”
“Sure.” Bucky agrees.
“What are you going to do once we find him.” Sam asks.
“Kill him.”
“I like your style.” Zemo smiles at her.
“Ambitious.” Sharon notes. “ Anyway that was one hell of a reunion.”
“Come back to the states with us.”
“I told you I can’t. Just get me what you promised me.”
On the plane Y/n sits further from the three men. It’s all starting to hit her that she ran off with strangers. The stranger in fur, Helmut Zemo gave her a candy. Technically he isn’t much of a stranger if she knows his name. The stranger with the metal arm stares at her for too long, and the stranger with short dark hair hasn’t said much to her.
“Eat.” Zemo puts a muffin in front of her and a bottle of mineral water.
“How long were you with Nagel?” Sam asks.
“I don’t remember, a while.” Y/n says, tearing into the muffin. She ravenously eats the muffin.
“And you took the serum.” Sam confirms.
“Not much of a choice.” Y/n shrugs and says through mouthfuls of muffin.

Hypothetical TV shows: “Agent Jimmy Woo”
Spin-off series centered on Marvel’s lovable FBI agent, Jimmy Woo (Randall Park). Plot breakdown:
Episode 1
This is mainly an introduction to Jimmy Woo. We learn that he’s a lonely man, living by himself, doesn’t really have that many friends, and is not close to his family. The closest friend he has is Darcy Lewis, continuing their friendship from “WandaVision”. Throughout the episode, Jimmy gets these weird flashbacks that we have no context for. The flashbacks are to establish that Jimmy has some sort of dark past that we haven’t seen.
Most of the episode is “normal”, until Jimmy receives a strange letter to his office. When Jimmy opens the letter, he sees that it’s a picture of a dead man, with the words, “REMEMBER ME, JIM?” smeared in blood in the background. Jimmy immediately realizes who did this and flees the building. As he’s running, he bumps into Darcy, who is here because they were supposed to go out for coffee. Jimmy tries to come up with an excuse, until he sees a couple of shady people approaching him. This leads to a thrilling, John Wick-style fight scene, in which Jimmy takes down all the assassins sent after him.
The episode ends with Darcy staring at him in shock, wondering who is this man standing before her.
Episode 2
This episode picks up right after the end of the previous episode. Jimmy and Darcy are on the run, fighting their way through hordes of assassins sent to kill Jimmy. We get a close-quarters combat fight scene, a gunfight, and a car chase, all in the first half of the episode. Eventually, Jimmy and Darcy reach this mysterious location, where they meet a woman who seems to recognize Jimmy. The woman introduces herself as Monica Chang (played by Yunjin Kim), a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Nick Fury’s ex-wife.
Jimmy says he needs to get out of the country since “Golden Claw” has somehow come back from the dead and is out to get him. Monica then arranges a transport to Madagascar for both Jimmy and Darcy. This is where we get the big reveal; Jimmy Woo is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who went underground after the events of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. Golden Claw was Jimmy’s arch-nemesis who he thought he killed years ago.
As Jimmy and Darcy make their way to Madagascar, Darcy asks Jimmy for the full story. Jimmy figures he has nothing left to lose and starts to recount his past, leading to the next episode.
Episode 3
Flashback episode, set before the events of “The Avengers”. Jimmy Woo is a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who is close friends with Phil Coulson and Monica Chang. We learn that Jimmy is hunting down Plan Chu, the Golden Claw (played by Joe Taslim). Golden Claw is considered the “Kingpin of Asia” and rules over all the crime syndicates in the continent, from the Yakuza to the Triads to Madripoor. To emphasize this point, although Sharon Carter/Power Broker rules Madripoor, she answers to Golden Claw since he’s the one who helped her take control of the nation.
Due to how powerful and dangerous Golden Claw is, S.H.I.E.L.D. began targeting him, with Jimmy leading the charge. In this episode, we see the end of Jimmy’s operation; S.H.I.E.L.D. leads an assault on Golden Claw’s mansion, which eventually leads to Jimmy facing off against Golden Claw one-on-one. The two men fight, which ends with Jimmy tossing Golden Claw off a cliff. Claw is presumed dead since his body is never found.
Cut to several years later, Jimmy goes underground due to Steve Rogers exposing HYDRA’s existence in S.H.I.E.L.D.. With Nick Fury’s help, he scrubs away his past and takes on a new job as a FBI agent. The episode ends with Jimmy meeting with Scott Lang in “Ant-Man and the Wasp”.
Post-credits scene: After being tossed off the cliff, Golden Claw is found by Sharon Carter, who was part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. assault. She decides to nurse him back to health, indicating that even before she became the Power Broker, she was a double agent working for the Golden Claw.
Episode 4
Golden Claw-centric episode, focused on his origin story. We learn Plan Chu was actually born during the First Opium War (1839). He grew up poor and angry at the British for their attacks on China. Eventually, he ends up becoming an apprentice to a mystic/alchemist and learns how to develop elixirs that can grant him special powers. One elixir in particular prolongs his lifespan, explaining how he’s still alive in the modern day. Plan Chu’s master eventually dies from old age. Using the skills he learned, Plan Chu creates his criminal empire and earns the nickname “Golden Claw”.
In the modern day, Golden Claw, who has fully recovered from his battle with Jimmy Woo, starts targeting all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who were part of the operation to kill him. Sharon Carter provides him the names, leading to a sequence where multiple former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are killed by Golden Claw’s mercenaries. Although Jimmy Woo manages to get away, Golden Claw moves on to the next step of his revenge; finding out who ratted him out to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the first place, leading to the assault on his mansion.
Golden Claw learns that the one who betrayed him was Suwan (played by Ali Wong), his grandniece and a leading member of the Triads. Although that’s his family, Golden Claw puts a bounty on Suwan’s head.
In the B-story, Jimmy and Darcy arrive in Madagascar, where they meet Derek Khanata (played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), A former Wakandan special forces operative, a S.H.I.E.L.D. ally, and a friend of Jimmy Woo.
Episode 5
In Madagascar, Derek takes Jimmy and Darcy to a hideout in order to discuss battle plans. Derek tells Jimmy that Golden Claw has already killed most of the original S.H.I.E.L.D. team that was sent after him, which enrages Jimmy. Wanting revenge, Jimmy asks if they have any leads on Golden Claw’s whereabouts. Although he’s reluctant to go after Claw, Derek suggests going after M’Demwe (played by Barkhad Abdi), a ruthless warlord who has ties to the Golden Claw.
Most of this episode is focused on Jimmy, Darcy, and Derek hunting down M’Demwe while avoiding the authorities and Golden Claw mercenaries that are in the area. Eventually, the trio manages to capture M’Demwe, leading to a thrilling car chase. After the chase, M’Demwe says he has no idea where Golden Claw is...but that they can get Golden Claw to come to them. When Darcy asks what does that mean, M’Demwe says that Claw put a bounty on his grandniece’s head. If they get to Suwan first, that could force Golden Claw to come out of hiding.
Jimmy realizes this is about Suwan, indicating that they had a prior relationship. Jimmy asks M’Demwe where Suwan is and M’Demwe reveals that she’s in Montenegro on vacation. He then has Derek arrange a flight to Montenegro.
In the B-story, Suwan is seen gambling at a fancy casino in Montenegro. Suwan’s bodyguard tells her about the bounty placed on her head, which she waves off. She then says something ominous, that no one can touch her on her property.
Episode 6
Jimmy, Darcy, and Derek arrive in Montenegro. Golden Claw arrives around the same time. This is mostly a character development episode, in preparation for the final showdown. The following interactions occur:
1) Golden Claw meets with Suwan and tells him that he knows she betrayed him. Suwan demands to know why Golden Claw won’t just kill her himself, which Claw can’t answer. Suwan then confirms to herself that Claw can’t bring himself to kill her since he still loves her and that the bounty was his way of pushing the guilt onto someone else. Golden Claw doesn’t say it but he sees Suwan as one of his daughters, which is why he can’t just kill her himself.
2) More Jimmy and Darcy bonding. We learn more about Darcy’s family life and that she hung out with Jimmy for the same reason he hung out with her; she doesn’t have many friends outside of work.
3) Jimmy meets up with Suwan and reconnects with her. Jimmy says he’s here to protect her but Suwan says he’s here to use her to reach Golden Claw. We learn that in the past, Suwan was sent by Golden Claw to kill Jimmy but ended up falling in love with him. That’s also part of the reason why Suwan betrayed Golden Claw.
4) Golden Claw meets with Darcy, who doesn’t recognize him, and the two bond over a game of Texas hold’em. This scene is meant to humanize Golden Claw, that he’s not just a power-hungry criminal mastermind.
5) Suwan and Darcy bonding. This is mainly played for laughs, with Darcy being curious about what this incredibly dangerous Triad boss saw in Jimmy. Suwan interprets Darcy’s interest in her past romance with Jimmy as jealousy, leading to a hilarious misunderstanding.
Episode ends with Jimmy, Darcy, and Derek’s covers being blown, leading to everything going south. Golden Claw and his troops corner the main trio, forcing Suwan to have her guards confront Golden Claw’s mercenaries. With everyone pointing guns at each other, the episode ends on a massive cliffhanger.
Episode 7
Picking up right after the previous episode, the Mexican standoff between Suwan, Jimmy, and Golden Claw turns into a massive shootout, resulting in several casualties on all sides. Golden Claw’s army is forced to retreat, giving Suwan and Jimmy time to recover. This is the episode where we reach peak John Wick since right after Golden Claw’s retreat, Suwan takes Jimmy into her office in order to prepare for the second wave. Jimmy arms himself to the teeth, leading into the next attack.
Most of this episode is the battle between Suwan’s side and Golden Claw’s side. The battle is seen from these perspectives:
1) Jimmy and Derek at the forefront, fighting against the highly trained Golden Claw mercenaries
2) Darcy going off on her own in order to contact the Montenegro authorities (there’s a subplot where Darcy learns that Golden Claw managed to move the Montenegro police away from the area)
3) Suwan directing everyone from her office and coming up with the battle plans.
The big fight in this episode is between Jimmy Woo and Golden Claw’s top mercenary, Harold Kenkoy (played by Michael Bisping). Harold is the series’ secondary antagonist, with his role being similar to Brock Rumlow in “CA: The Winter Soldier”. Jimmy kills Harold after a brutal, one-on-one fight.
The battle ends when Darcy comes through with her mission to contact the Montenegro authorities. Unfortunately, Golden Claw manages to flee and retreats back to Madripoor. Not wanting to go through this again, Jimmy, Darcy, Derek, and Suwan decide to follow him.
Episode 8 - season finale
As the big finale of the series, Jimmy and friends reconnect with Monica Chang, who brings a team of other former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to assist. On the other side, Golden Claw meets with Sharon Carter and tells her that he’ll be taking over Madripoor while he regroups from his previous loss. Sharon angrily states that he can’t just take her throne, leading to a “betrayal” scene. However, just when you think Sharon has the upper hand, Golden Claw reverses the situation when Sharon’s mercenaries turn against her. Claw says that he’s the one who gave her power and that he could easily take it away.
Sharon fights through her former mercenaries and joins up with Jimmy Woo. They form a temporary truce when Jimmy tells her that he’s only in Madripoor to stop the Golden Claw once and for all. With Sharon’s help, Jimmy’s side forms a plan to trap Golden Claw.
Of course, the plan goes awry, leading to Golden Claw closing down the whole country in order to trap Jimmy’s team. With nowhere to go and all the criminals in Madripoor gunning for them, Jimmy goes off on his own to corner Golden Claw. In the midst of all this chaos, Darcy is captured and taken to Claw. Darcy, having bonded with Claw earlier, tries to appeal to his humanity and convince him to give up his revenge quest. Claw refuses and says that he’s justified since S.H.I.E.L.D. was the one who instigated this whole situation.
After a series of incidents, Jimmy Woo eventually confronts Golden Claw. The two fight, mirroring their fight from years ago. Jimmy wins after managing to fatally shoot Claw in the chest. As Claw dies, the two acknowledge each other, with Claw glad to have been killed by a worthy opponent. Sharon takes back control of Madripoor and, to thank Jimmy for stopping Claw, allows everyone to leave. She also rescinds all the bounties that Golden Claw set up. With that, everyone goes home.
The rest of the episode is just wrapping up the story. Suwan goes back to Montenegro, Derek goes back to Madagascar, and Monica tells Jimmy that she’s founding a new spy agency to fill in the space left by S.H.I.E.L.D. This ends up being the Atlas Foundation, which we’ll see in a future series. Jimmy says he’ll consider joining but for now, he’s going back to his job at the FBI. Season ends with Jimmy and Darcy getting coffee.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: Jimmy Woo is with Darcy at the coffee shop when he’s approached by a messenger. The messenger tells Jimmy that he was named the sole heir of Golden Claw’s empire. Jimmy says that can’t be true but the messenger confirms this by showing him a copy of Claw’s will. Jimmy stares at the will in shock as he realizes that he’s become the new Kingpin of Asia.

Do you think Zemo will break out of the raft (I think that's what it's called) next episode? There was some promo stuff for Zemo that hasn't been seen in the show yet and apparently he is confirmed to be in the next episode but I'm not sure if Marvel is just messing with us
SPOILERS FOR FATWS EP 5 BELOW THE CUT
There is???? There very well may be footage from trailers, but I don’t know it off the top of my head.
My thoughts are that either he will stay in the Raft until they pull him out again in a new project, or that they might have him escape/get freed in a post-credits scene. I don’t think he’ll play a big part in the major fight of the next episode against the flag smashers, despite the fact that it would be a lot of fun to pull him out again and let him go nuts.
That being said, I had a stupid thought that maybe Sharon would break him out if she ends up being the Power Broker because she saw how useful he was. I don’t know though. All I can say is that at least if he’s in the Raft he’s not gonna be murdered out of nowhere so it’s safe to say they might pull him out for another project, especially if that project is a Thunderbolts movie/show (because Ross is a key member and has connections at the Raft)

Spoiler free TFATWS Episode 5 review:
Another very solid episode. A huge amount of pay off for many of the various subplots at play and a great progression of the overall story. Some conversations that really needed to be had were finally had and it was immensely satisfying. Other than a strong opening action sequence, this episode was mainly character and dialogue focussed, which I think is going to upset some of the fanboys, but for me it might have been the strongest episode yet.
Spoiler heavy review:
Writing/Plot:
The opening fight was fantastically choreographed and heart breaking in a lot of ways. The acting was noteworthy which is rare for a fight scene where people normally phone it in or we don’t really see much of their expressions because they’re stunt doubles. I’m glad this was the only real action this week - it felt nice to get a break and return to character and plot driven scenes.
Overall this episode was just really satisfying in terms of plot progression and pay off. We resolved Bucky’s beef with Wakanda, Zemo’s fate, Bucky and Sam not seeing eye to eye, Isaiah’s story, Sam’s issues with the shield, and closure for Lemar’s family. We’ve progressed Sam and Sarah’s money/boat issues and whatever the fuck Sharon and Batroc have going on. Next week we’re setting up to give Yori some closure and put an end to John and the Flagsmashers.
Even the Flagsmashers, who we barely saw, got more development than it seems they have for a while - we now know they are all in on criminal behaviour, are willing to kill, have a distinct target (the GRC), and a distinct goal (stop the Patch), and have a mini army to do it with.
The vibe of this episode was just... soft, which is surprising for a hyper masculine superhero bro show. The whole community coming together to help the Wilson’s and Bucky being inducted into the family was just so wholesome. Even the Isaiah scenes, heart wrenching as they were, would have been intercut with violent and graphic torture flashbacks under some other director, but Kari knew that the story was powerful and upsetting enough on it’s own.
Sam:
Sam and Sarah are just amazing. Really really hope we see her in future Marvel properties. It's so nice to see the perspective of someone so grounded in a world of wizards and shit. I love that he seems to tell her everything and values her advice just as much if not more than that of soldiers and superheroes.
Watching him grapple with Steve and Bucky’s expectations of him vs Isaiah’s expectations of him vs Sarah’s expectations of him vs his own wants and needs was very impactful, and in the end, he’s going to honour them all and pick up the shield, but on his own terms, as his own man, because he wants to, not because some old men told him to/not to.
Sam finally got some of those deeply emotional beats that I have been hoping for this whole time, which gives Anthony a chance to really flex his acting muscles. He’s great at subtlety but he really shines in this episode now the writing has allowed him to. Everything with Isaiah and the scene of him wiping blood off the shield was so raw.
Isaiah, who gets his own section this week:
God, his entire section was so powerful and well done. I’m so glad he came back and we got to learn more about his story and his situation. I’m so glad it was explicitly addressed what was done to him, why it was done, how it affects Sam and his perception of the shield, how it affected his family, and how he still carries all that trauma to this day. I’m so glad it was a one on one between them.
Carl Lumbly was absolutely fantastic and Anthony played off of him wonderfully. The injustice and pain is so stark in this scene. I would love to see more of him in the future but I also want him to be able to finally rest.
Isaiah did exactly what Steve did. Went against express orders to do the right thing and saved a group of POW's that the top brass had written off as expendable. In return, Steve got his fake Captain title made real, a fancy new shield, and was lauded as a hero. Isaiah was imprisoned, tortured, experimented on, and treated as a criminal. For the same. damn. thing.
I was perplexed in previous weeks about people condemning Bucky for not telling anyone about Isaiah, when doing so would have disturbed his well earned peace and put him in extreme danger. In this episode we get the confirmation that Bucky’s choice was right: Isaiah is legally dead and in hiding and the government don't know he's alive. He wants to be left alone ("Leave me dead, my name is buried") and that’s more important than what Sam wants or what you think Bucky should have done. It’s up to Isaiah; and Bucky (and later Sam) respected his wishes.
Bucky:
Ayo calling Bucky White Wolf, telling him to steer clear of Wakanda “for the moment” but not forever, and making Sam a vibranium Cap suit shows he’s fully forgiven. To be honest, they likely don’t have an extradition treaty with Germany so they actually never would have gotten their hands on Zemo if Bucky hadn’t broken him out, so they’re probably happier with him than they let on right now.
The Zemo-Bucky relationship and the grudging respect and understanding they have for each other is so interesting. I honestly don’t believe this is the last we’ll see of Zemo. He’s straddling the anti-hero/villain divide and he’s just so fascinating. Bucky getting his closure with Zemo and showing him that he isn’t the weapon Zemo treated him as was powerful, although I don’t think Zemo actually thought he would kill him. He knows that Bucky wasn’t corrupted by the serum, and even admitted as much.
Fighting John with the shield must have given him flashbacks to the helicarrier fight with Steve which can’t have been pleasant. The pure rage on his face at seeing the shield misused was clear here.
Seeing him helping the Wilson’s and being integrated into the community and the family in a way he hasn’t had since the Howling Commandos (and even then, they were at war) was just so, so sweet and wholesome. And his boat fixing skills corroborated my science nerd/mechanic Bucky headcanons.
Bucky and Sarah lightly flirting is very cute and I would like to see that relationship be developed more.
It was nice to see him explicitly apologise and recognise why Sam didn’t want the shield, as well as explaining why he reacted the way he did. I don’t understand the people saying it wasn’t good enough at all - it was a clear and sincere apology and completely proportional to the actual offence, which was not quite understanding a perspective that he wasn’t really equipped to immediately understand. He doesn’t need to beg or plead - just acknowledge his ignorance, say sorry, and improve, which he did. Sam was perfectly happy with it and accepted the apology, his gift, and his help on the boat. Drama over nothing as per usual amongst the Bucky antis.
I still wish they would be more explicit about Steve’s fate and how they both feel about it, but I liked the scene we got.
Other characters:
“You built me.” - Wyatt is extremely good at mining sympathy out of an otherwise unsympathetic character. As much as I hate him, I did feel for him in the courthouse scene and with Lemar’s parents. He's an example of the veterans that are exploited until they crack then left in the dust as damaged goods when they do. I’ve been so, so impressed with Wyatt and the nuance and complexity and sympathy he’s managed to inject into the character. In anyone else’s hands he would be a two dimensional power crazed villain, but in Wyatt’s he’s a lot more than that.
Val is intriguing. Skrull? HYDRA? Power Broker? Something new entirely?
I wish John’s wife got a name. This is the second love interest minor female character (after the bartender) without an onscreen name, unless I missed it.
I am still somewhat perplexed by Sharon. Is she a double agent? A triple agent? Is she the Power Broker? Is she against the Flagsmashers, or with them, or only out for herself and against everyone? I’m not sure how this can all be resolved in only one episode but I guess we’ll find out. I wonder if she’s being set up for a future project. Is she a Skrull?
I knew Batroc would be back when we didn’t explicitly see him die - is he being used by Sharon without his knowledge for some other purpose, or does she genuinely not give a fuck if he kills Sam?
Nice to see Torres and to see that he has an obvious crush on both Sam AND Bucky. He’s for sure swooping into the final battle next episode having fixed Sam’s wings.
Is the inclusion of Eli Bradley setting him up for a future Young Avengers series, or is he just a nice comic cameo and nothing more?
Lemar's parents had me tearing up. Fuck Walker for lying to them but at least he gave them some closure I guess? Poor Lemar. He deserved so much more and we deserved more of him.
Fuck John Walker and his fake shield.

“Well this is too perfect.” A female voice came from the hooded figure. Zemo turned around, The female sounding figure, while pointing the guy towards Zemo, reached up and pulled down the hood. The face revealed was familiar, at least to most of the group. “Drop it, Zemo.” Zemo set down the gun he had in hand while Bucky stepped forward looking confused. “Sharon?”
The blonde woman stepped forward, gun raised pointed at Bucky. (Y/N) moved to step forward but Sam grabbed her arm to keep her in place. “You cost me everything.” She mentioned in a low voice. “Sharon, wait,” something was kicked as she approached the four person group as Sam tried to explain what was going on to the woman, “Someone recreated the super-soldier serum and Zemo had a lead.” Her head nodded to the side in understanding. “That explains why you guys are here. And Selby’s dead.” The woman’s eyes looked at Bucky like she blamed him. “So what are you doing here?” Bucky asked and his tone was almost gentle as he spoke to the woman. “I stole Steve’s shield, remember? I also took the wings for your ass,” The gun moved to point at Sam then to Bucky before landing on Zemo again, “so that you could save his ass from his ass.” (Y/N) who was pretty hidden from Sharon’s view was smiling at her comment.
“I didn’t have the Avengers to back me up. So I’m off the grid in Madripoor.” Sharon shrugged her shoulders finally lowering the gun. “Don’t blow smoke. I was on the run too.” Sam’s town was low and serious as his attention was focused on Sharon. “Was. Is. Big difference. I don’t speak to my family anymore. I can’t. My father doesn’t know where I am.” Sharon spoke and this whole conversation was starting to confuse the other woman who wasn’t around for the events that were being discussed. “Listen, Sharon was it? We need your help blondie.” (Y/N) tells her as she steps up into sight between Zemo and Bucky. Sharon looked her over as she let out a chuckle. “Please.” Bucky adds stepping up next to his old teammate. Sharon let out a sigh as she shook her head slightly. “This isn’t over. I have a place up in High Town. You’ll be safe there.”
Bucky, without asking or offering, scooped the nurse next to him up into his arms. “Don’t argue, you kicked off your shoes and I’m not letting you cut your feet on something.” The rumble of his chest reminded her of a time where the only person she could trust was him. She simply nods her head, glancing over the leather jacket to see Sam push Zemo forward. The group made their way to Sharon’s car that she drove over to her place in High Town.
“Looks like breaking all those laws is treating you well.” Sam comments as he takes in the place the blonde woman was staying. “I thought if I had to hustle, I might as well enjoy the life of a real hustler. You know how much I’ll get for a real Monet?” She gestured to one of the paintings on display as she talked. “Ey easy. Deactivate your hustle mode. You sell fake Monets.” Sam tried to correct her but Zemo cut him off. “No, she means real. This gallery is specialized in stolen artwork. Monet. Van Gogh. Classics.” Y/N nods from Bucky’s side. “It’s true, Wilson.” She confirms before Bucky adds his own confirmation, “You know, half the artwork in museums like the Louvre is fake. Real stuff sits in places like this.”
“Okay guys, I see what you’re doing here. You’re more worldly than good old Sam.” The southern man spoke, pulling out his phone to google the truth. Deciding to catch up with Sharon and Zemo who had kept walking, the lone female of the group giggled as she passed by Sam. “Yeah. What’s google say?” Bucky asked, patting his friend’s shoulder as he passed following his old partner. “No shit.” Sam muttered before Sharon called back to them to change before her clients arrived in an hour. Sharon left the men with a cart of clothes before dragging the other female with her to another room to change.
Sharon led them back into the main room where the three men were left. She commented on Sam's change of clothes, or middle of change considering he was still shirtless. Y/N, now dressed in a navy blue dress pant-suit that was surprisingly comfortable and easy to move in, moved to sit on the couch next to Bucky. She reached over to smooth out the lapels of the black jacket the former soldier now wore. She could hear Sam questioning Sharon about why she never came back and how Sharon would be locked up if she returned. Yet hearing Sharon talk badly about the shield drew the nurse’s attention to her rambling about hero business being hypocrisy. “He knows. And not so deep down.” Zemo comments holding a drink in his hand. “By the way, how is the new Cap?” Sharon asked making Bucky’s eye’s roll as he replied, “Don’t get me started.”
Sharon scoffs as she moved towards the couch. “Please. You buy into all that stars and stripes bullshit.” The silent nurse shifts uncomfortably as she listens to the conversation. “Before you were his pet psychopath you were Mr. America! Cap’s best friend.” Bucky could probably feel the tension growing between the two females that were now seated on either side of him. “Wow. She’s kind of awful now.” The 106 year old man’s face was blank as he glanced up at Sam who was adjusting the neck of a shirt deciding it best to change topic. “Karli Morgenthau and at least seven others have taken the serum.” Sharon shakes her head at the statement “You guys really should steer clear of all of this for your own safety.”
Y/N stands up rubbing her palms over her hips before stepping around the couch to stand behind Bucky. “Sure there is a risk sweetheart but until I… we find out who cracked the code,” She started correcting herself as she spoke. Although his face was as blank as ever a metal hand reached up and back to rest on the hand just next to his shoulder. It wasn’t much but the nonverbal comfort that was given was enough. “We got a name,” the dark head of hair leaned back till the nurse could see the blue eyes she had known for years, “Wilfred Nagel.” Sharon’s eyebrows scrunched together before she moved off the couch, “Nagel works for the Power Broker.”
Sam bargained for Sharon’s help in exchange for clearing her name. Meanwhile the nurse was behind Bucky muttering, “We don’t really need her. Just give us a few hours and we can do it ourselves.” The small tug of a smirk against the stubble jawline of Barnes could be seen before he shook his head slightly. “Trust, doc.” His voice rumbled like low thunder as he spoke to her. She was never one to jump full into a plan without looking at all possibilities, which is why Steve always liked her opinion back in the war.
“They cleared the bionic staring machine, and he killed almost everybody he’s met.” Sam’s comment on Bucky drew the nurse’s attention back to the main conversation in the room. “I heard that.” Bucky comments as the nurse moves back around the couch to sit back down next to her dark haired friend. “I don’t trust charity.” Sharon mentions. The nurse groans dramatically, making the room turn towards her. “She’s as stubborn as Peggy. Look toots, it’s not a hand out. You’re doin’ a job. You’re going to help us and in exchange bird-man is gonna get your name cleared.” Sharon took that as a deal and agreed to help using her sellers as a network to find out what she can, leaving instructions to lay low and blend in before she heads to the front to start greeting guests.
The four still sitting in the back didn’t move for a moment. Zemo was sipping from a tumbler, probably a whiskey, which Sam moved over to the other two. “So what did you mean earlier about you and Bucky being seen together?” The room again lulled into silence before the woman hummed and looked from her hands to Sam. “In the days of the Winter Soldier, seeing us together meant death, if you didn’t die that day you would die in a year. Seeing just me represented mercy, if you saw me alone the chances were the Winter Soldier wouldn’t kill you. That’s why I was Snowdrop. The meaning and folklore around the flower was my duty, besides keeping the soldier in prime condition”
“She also was his partner. On a mission if she was not nursing an injury it was her job to cover his right side, the side deemed weaker without the metal arm. She was trained to stay out of his way but move in tandem with him, like magnets.” Zemo added to the woman’s explanation. The nurse stood up from the couch. “It’s in the past. I am not Snowdrop. Just like Bucky is not the Winter Soldier. I’ll see you gentlemen out there.” She left the three men in the room alone. Sam turned his head towards Bucky silently asking if there was more to the story. The man shook his head pushing up from the couch. “Come on, we should blend in.”
The music was definitely not anything Bucky or Y/N were used to. The two war vets met by the bar, both nursing a tumbler of whiskey over ice. “Where did you go after you got out?” If it wasn’t from years of memorizing the tone and every aspect of the voice talking to her (Y/N) might not have heard him over the music. Her eyes glanced up at his as she stepped around to his left side, a nonverbal ask of permission to touch his arm. The man let out a soft grunt, raising the glass to his lips. Sliding into the spot next to him and placing his arm around her waist for casual onlookers she leaned up to talk.
“They were going to use me to get you back, Zemo let me out when he found out HYDRA’s next plan for us. They were going to force Project Chroma onto me...us. I was to be transferred to the lab when my escape happened. First thing I did was go home. Security sure has changed in the years. I saw the war monument in Washington. I got to see the tribute made out to Rogers at the Smithsonian where you were mentioned." She bumped her hip gently against his and even caught a small smile before it was covered by the glass of whiskey. She took her own sip before continuing, walking with the man as he led the way around the outer perimeter of the room. "Most action I got to see since my escape besides what is going on now was the slight trouble I got in with my new hacking hobby and helping someone." Bucky's blue eyes glanced down at her. "I shouldn't be surprised you always were a bit of a tech nerd. What about this person you helped? That's dangerous for you right now until you get pardoned." His hand brushed over her lower back as she turned to face him. "Now listen here James I made an oath when I became a medic, I was going to help everyone I could if I was able to so that's what I did. Now hush or you won't get the story before Sam tracks you down." From the way her eyes darted across the dance floor Barnes knew she had a location on all of their friends. He nods his head pressing his lips into a firm line.
"Zemo called me. Needed me to be ready for a job he was doing. Flew me out to Vienna, Austria. I was there the day you were framed for that bombing Buck." She rubbed a hand over her face thinking back on the day and how worried she got for him after that day. "I was okay, sugar. Now tell me about this kid you helped." Bucky soothed pulling her closer the way his arm felt around (Y/N) was always comforting to her. Maybe it was how safe he made her feel and knowing the damage that arm could do. Her fingers brushed over the metal plating of his left hand.
"They sped up on this bike, jumped off it and were heading straight for the building like they knew what was going to happen and needed to warn everyone. They never made it inside. The explosion, it...it seemed to trigger something and they froze. Just standing there. Something fell from above, a piece of concrete you know the kind with the support pipes, it caught them on the way down. Person was unconscious and more debris was falling. I did the only thing I could think of, took them back to my hotel a block away, away from curious eyes. They woke up when I was laying out the first aid kit.
I nearly got punched in the face if it wasn't for working with you. Stubborn kid that one was, laceration from shoulder to inner elbow on the right side, dislocated shoulder, and there were already some previous injuries. The kid called themselves 'Ghost' so I told them to call me 'Grace'. Fixed them up and sent them on their way with the car I was using to get out of there. After that I went to Visit graves.."
Bucky was quiet for a moment before ducking his head down towards her ear. "Hearing someone call you Grace got to you didn't it?" He asked as his mind went back to how he felt when Steve called him 'Bucky'. "Amazing Grace, Ghost said the whole thing when they left. I didn't think anyone would remember me as Amazing Grace after the war."
"Wait, you're Amazing Grace from Steve's war stories?" Sam's voice asked in shock over the music drawing the faux couple out of their own world to let him join. "Best nurse you may ever meet. Plus she always sang for the injured soldiers. Got the nickname Amazing Grace because that was her go to song and some of the men started to think she was an angel." Bucky looked down at the blushing nurse next to him, eyes swimming with pride and fondness for her, a smile teasing the corners of his mouth. Sam definitely took note of the change of attitude the grumpy old man always seemed to have after spending time with the woman who was so casually wrapped up next to the man that Sam wouldn't have believed it if he wasn't seeing it. The nurse patted the tall man's chest a few times before pointing into the crowd of partiers to where Zemo was doing his own dance.

Sharon was able to find the man they were looking for but by the time the guest had cleared and the trip to the docks was made it was light outside. Small conversation was made as Sharon led the way. With word that she would keep watch Sharon sent them inside after handing over an ear piece to each of them. Sam opened the door to the container. Bucky and (Y/N) exchanged a look and there was something in his eyes that she knew meant that he was worried for her. The container was empty upon entry. Yet that was soon disproven by Zemo and his flashlight finding a secret door within the back wall. Zemo pushed open the door as the other three drew a gun. Sam moved to the font of the line followed by Zemo. Bucky kept an eye on the back with (Y/n) between him and the German man.
Music was playing, masking the sound of their entry. The hidden lab was dimly lit with fluorescent light casting a gray tinge over everything. The nurse took a silent deep breath as she took in the lab around her. She could remember the day Erskine brought her in see him work on the serum used on Steve Rogers. She could remember the failed attempts she had in the HYDRA labs and the even worse side affects her body went through upon testing. All the flashes of the serum in her brain and the trouble it caused made her uneasy for a moment as she took a small step closer to Barnes, his eye catching the movement and moving to cover her.
Sam and Bucky lead the way towards Nagel while (Y/N) stays at Zemo’s side. Bucky pulled the needle from the playing record making the music stop. Nagel turned from his workstation to find out why his music stopped only to let out a gasp at the sight of Sam standing there with a gun. “Dr. Nagel?”
“Who are you? What do you want?” The doctor questioned quickly, probably nervous. Sam rose his head slightly and his voice was gentle when he answered. “We know you created the super-soldier serum.” That did not trigger a positive response as the doctor stepped forward ordering him to “Get out of my lab.” The doctor walked past Sam as if to escort him out but froze upon seeing the former Winder Soldier standing there, dark ice blue eyes locked onto him. “You know who he is, right?” Sam’s voice was still calm as ever even as the doctor stepped back away from the direction of Barnes and turned towards the other blocked direction where Zemo and the nurse stood. “This is Baron Zemo. I know you’ve heard of him too, right? Maybe even her?”
The doctor was escorted by Sam to the more open area. Zemo followed him as (Y/N) stepped up to the workstation to take a look at just what they were making the serum with. “You seem like a smart guy. So you better become conversational real quick.” A slight rattle drew her attention back to the doctor and the interrogation that would soon occur. “How about a counter proposal?” The doctor offered, “Make me a better offer and I’ll talk.” Sharon’s hushed voice came through the earpiece warning them of some company arriving outside. The lone female in the lab stepped forward into the doctor’s line of sight. She moved forward with a sweet smile on her face before reaching up to grab the collar of his shirt to force him down into a chair. “Look here doctor, I’m a pretty patient lady, but if you don’t start talking he’ll start shooting. Got it? Now I’m not too happy about you messing around with my serum.” There was a brief glance towards Bucky as she spoke to the doctor, a firm tone hardening her voice. She didn’t ever realize how she had referred to the serum as hers, which in a sense it could be after Erskine’s death she was the only one that knew how to do it.
When Nagel didn’t respond but just glared at her a warning shot was fired off behind his head before the gun moved back to pointing at the side of his head. “Okay, okay. I was brought into HYDRA’s Winter Soldier program to pick up her work, after the five failed test subjects in Siberia. When HYDRA fell I was recruited by the CIA. They had blood samples from an American test subject with semi-stable traces of serum in his system.” (Y/N) listened, taking a small step back just barely catching a glimpse of a small head shake from Bucky as he looked at Sam. “After much labor, I was able to isolate the necessary compounds in his blood. I was a god-” The woman standing in front of the doctor raised her gun aiming it right between his eyes as she cut him off, “You are not a god.” Buck made a nonverbal command for Sam to move over towards the nurse who seemed to be taking this harder than anticipated. “I did what no other scientist since Erskine was able to do.” The doctor completely ignored the woman as he spoke to Sam. Zemo moved from the woman’s side to walk around and look at the equipment in the lab. “But mine was going to be different. No clunky machines,” A dig at the radiation chamber used to help Steve, “or jacked up bodies.” A dig at Bucky. “Mine was going to be subtle, optimized, perfect.”
The woman narrowed her eyes at Nagel. She wanted to punch him, it was almost like an insult to herself the way he spoke about her work. She had been there right next to Erskine the day Steve received the serum. She had given Rogers the morphine before he entered the chamber. She had read over Erskine’s destroyed notes so many times the day before because she was scared for the test subject’s safety. Then when HYDRA captured her and she was forced to start recreating it she refused to try it on anyone but herself. The amount of times a HYDRA agent found her near death was probably close to a dozen before she perfected it enough to start inducing it on Bucky. Sergeant Barnes was so weak the first time she gave him a shot of the serum, a test to see if his body could handle it. When she was contacted and brought back, it was a life or death situation that led to her giving the remaining required dose of the serum to Bucky.
“How have we never heard of this?” Sam’s voice brought her back to the present. Her eyes glanced over at the other super soldier and he was already looking at her. Bucky had seen her far off expression. He almost wished she was outside helping Sharon. “Because before I was able to complete my work, I turned to dust. Then when I returned, it was five years later, and the program had been abandoned so I came here. The Power Broker was more than happy to fund the recreation of my work.” The doctor explained the woman in the room taking a step back to recollect herself. She really wanted to put a bullet through this Power Broker at the moment. “How many vials did you make?” She asked as calmly as possible, trying to match Sam but she could hear how annoyed she was. “Twenty. Karli Morgenthau stole those, so.. Could only imagine what the Power Broker has planned for that poor girl.”
“Where is Karli now?” Sam asked as the nurse looked over her shoulder at Zemo. The two made eye contact and in that moment a silent understanding was passed between the two. “I don’t know but a couple of days ago she called and asked if I could help someone named Donya Madani. Poor woman has tuberculosis. Typical of overpopulation in displacement camps like that.” Nagel explains as Zemo came back to rejoin the circle. “What happened to her?” Sam’s question didn’t get a direct answer since the doctor didn’t care to find out since it wasn’t his business. “Is there any serum in this lab?” Bucky questioned, looking down at the man. His jaw clenched and unclenched as he waited for the response. When the man did nothing but look at him Barnes pushed the barrel of his gun to the side of the man’s head earning a quick ‘No’.
“Now what?” Bucky wonders aloud looking towards the other three, not moving his gun from the man’s head until he sees Sharon enter. “Guys, we’re seriously outta time here.” Sharon insists, her entrance being just enough of a distraction for Zemo to raise the gun he had found strapped under one of the lab tables and shoot Doctor Nagel. Sam pinned Zemo to the wall as Sharon knocked the gun out of the baron’s hand. (Y/N) quickly moved to the doctor, the impact of the shot having knocked him back in the chair and falling backwards. “What did you do?” Sharon asked in a panicked voice. The nurse checked for a pulse but the man was dead. “He’s gone.”
An explosion broke out as something shot into the lab. Bucky grabbed onto his old friend/partner and covered her from the blast as he dove out of the way. An emergency alarm sounded out against the slight ring caused from the explosion. Groans came from everyone as they recollected themselves to get up and move. Bucky and (Y/N) were the first to move onto their hands and knees given the enhancement provided from the serum. “You good?” Bucky breathed out as he struggled to get up. “M’fine.” She muttered using something near her to push herself up before helping him stand. Things were shaking, glass items clinking together. “This place is going to blow, we have to move fast.” She urged Bucky forward as she began to move both of them looking back at beakers of chemicals. “Anyone see Zemo?” Sam wheezed before (Y/n) helped him up from the ground as the chivalrous Barnes helped Sharon up. “Let’s go.” He ordered. The lab explosion happened right behind the two super soldiers that kept the other two moving.
The four now, without the sign of Zemo, were now outside where the company was waiting for the smoke to clear to take fire. “All right, wait for my signal!” Bucky instructed but went unheard as bullets started to ping off the shipping container around them. Sam shot back as he moved in a different direction. Sharon and (Y/N) followed Bucky around the other way, guns at the ready. It sounded like fireworks with the amount of bullets being shot through the air. Only a few actually hit a target. Sam was taking cover already when the three arrived, Sharon moving to cover Wilson as he reloaded. “And you like living here?” Sam asked in an exasperated yell to Sharon to be heard over the gun fire that sounded way too much like a war field. “It’s not terrible.” The woman behind Sharon scoffed at the answer as she and Bucky shot at targets in opposite directions, each covering the other’s blind spot.
Bucky’s gun clicked a few times proving it was empty. He let out a short frustrated yell, something (Y/N) wasn’t used to coming from him since way back in the days of the Howling Commandos when his gun would jam. He rushed back under better coverage calling over to Sam, “I thought we were going left?” Sam glanced over his shoulder for a moment to the man yelling at him.
“You went the wrong way!” Sam points to him as he yelled back
“I cleared the way!”
“I came out first. You’re supposed to follow me.”
“And where are we now?”
“Guys, not the time!” Sharon called back to them from where she was still shooting nearing the end of her ammo. From across from her (Y/n) was in the same situation as she called back. “We can sign you two up for couple’s therapy later!” The nurse called back completely unaware of the therapy session the two have already been through together. “I’m out!” Sharon called, ducking back out of direct fire. A moment later the other female ducked back too, “So am I.” The two men are still arguing over who should have led. None of them were prepared for a second explosion. Recovering from having to quickly duck and cover from the flames they all looked out to see a masked Zemo jumping into action taking care of the remaining men. Bucky tapped on Sharon’s back, “Go.” Sharon jumped into action and made a run for it, “Come on. Let’s go.”
There were still bullets being fired rapidly as they wove through the maze of shipping containers. Opening up an empty container to hide inside didn’t help as they were quickly located and shot at. Sam and Sharon were already inside. With his left hand Bucky broke off the metal lock bar off the container while pushing (Y/n) inside with his right. He used the bar to knock one man unconscious before turning, raising the bar like a spear and throwing it with the left arm with enough force to pin another person through their shoulder to a shipping container. “Come on, let's go.” Sam grabbed onto Bucky’s jacket pulling him into the container.(Y/n) walked through the dark metal box to the other side. Bucky bit the other doors with his metal fist before she could even lift her leg to break it open. As they stepped out of the container screeching tires alerted them to a fast approaching vehicle. Zemo rounded the corner in a supercharged Pontiac Firebird.
“You’re going back to jail.” Was the first thing out of Sam’s mouth as they all glared at the man. “Do you want to find Karli or not?” Zemo asked, turning his head away and then back to them. “He’s right. We need him.” Bucky looks at Sam as he helps (Y/N) into the back seat of the car. “There’s three of us and at least twenty of them.” The super soldier says as he gets into the car himself. “Fine but if you try that shit again.” Sam’s voice was hard as he pointed at Zemo while climbing into the back. “Wouldn’t dream of it.” Zemo states as Bucky turns to glare at him.
“Well that was one hell of a reunion.” Sharon sighs, closing the car door for them. Sam tried to bring her back again but she refused to go without the pardon. That was when they parted ways with Sharon Carter. Sharon walked one way while Zemo drove off in the other heading back towards the airstrip to leave Mandripoor behind them.

So, I’m in denial, like all of the even casual Sharon fans (of which I openly admit to being) must be after ep 6. What the fuck, right? But now that we know Cap 4 is definitely happening—with the same creatives behind it as the show oh God I’ve never felt such a strange combo of excitement and pure dread—I’m gonna add on to my Sharon was a Skrull theory.
So Secret Invasion is happening. Cap 4 is happening.  Secret Invasion will almost certainly drop first, since we heard about it earlier/it seems to be further along in production. Cap 4 is happening with the FATWS people behind it. The very last thing we got out of that show was the mustache-twirlingly bad guy moment of Sharon getting welcomed, reinstated either to SHIELD or the CIA, and gasp, shock, mustache twirl, she has evil plans.
Now I am, as I admitted, in denial. I know this. But also, Secret Invasion is a confirmed thing that’s happening on Disney+, so I think there’s some basis for my denial. That being the case, Sharon’s arc in FATWS is either one of the most phenomenally terrible, spiteful moves the MCU has ever pulled, or it is secretly brilliant.
As per the post linked above, Secret Invasion is all about Skrulls infiltrating Earth, replacing those in positions of power so they can fuck with things. Sharon is literally, supposedly, the Power Broker. Sharon has access to satellites now, I guess. Power is in her name. Sharon was also, as stated above, in a position to be an easy target for replacement, between her having to take off after CW, and then the Snap and all the chaos and confusion that caused.
Now we know Cap 4 is a thing. Imagine a Cap 4 that comes after Secret Invasion. Where Sharon’s either been rescued, her Skrull counterpart defeated, or that’s a thing that happens in Cap 4. Sam and Bucky realizing that the woman they met was not Sharon, that Sharon is in an even more powerful position now, and is using it to fuck with things. Subversion, infiltration, continuing the themes of Cap 2 and the Hydra infiltration of SHIELD.
What if Sharon’s the Man Out of Time now? She’s essentially been a POW for however long, the world has changed significantly, and she’s had someone else pretending to be her and trashing her rep. Now she’s got to figure out what life is now/possibly kill a shapeshifting alien, if she hasn’t done that in Secret Invasion yet.
Could we get a Cap v Cap, Endgame style fight, but with Sharon v Sharon and all her beast mode fighting moves from ep 3?
My point, as much as I ever have one, is that if Sharon’s stuff from FATWS is just what it seems to be and nothing else? Trash, betrayal, filth, all that. If, however, it’s just the start of a larger arc that will unfold across Secret Invasion and possibly Cap 4, it might actually be fantastic.
Am I saying for sure that any version of this is true? Nope, writers might just be dumb as hell, and I’m the first to say that most fan theories give writers way too much credit. But with Secret Invasion happening, and Cap 4 coming from the same people, I think it does have marginally more credibility than the usual mental gymnastics I engage in to reconcile bad canon.
And honestly, even if we find out FATWS Sharon wasn’t a Skrull…in this house, she was a Skrull, and that’s how it’s gonna be from now on.

Here are my thoughts/questions/theories about the finale of Falcon & The Winter Soldier and going forward in the MCU:
1) We all know that there was some kind of virus subplot that had to be rewritten due to Covid happening, so while some of the plot might be hard to follow or not make sense, I think overall this series was fantastic. The Flag Smashers, in my opinion, probably lost some of their dangerousness with this rewrite which is why, compared to Zemo, they don't really feel like they have the same threat level as him.
2) Sharon Carter is the Power Broker (even though she didn't expressly say it, she didn't deny it and it seems like she is). She was never confirmed dusted with the snap. She went on the lam at the end of Civil War, but 2 years pass between that and the events of Infinity War. There is a chance that she survived the snap and had been living in Madripoor (nobody could get in contact with her because she'd been hiding, similar to how Scott was assumed dusted), and either took over for the Power Broker because nobody knew who he was, or she killed him and took over for him. No way she built that kind of criminal empire in just 6 months.
3) I would have loved it if while Karli was dying in Sam's arms, she leaned up and whispered to him that Sharon was the Power Broker, setting up a season 2 where Bucky and Sam chase after Sharon.
4) Sam's Captain America outfit is FANTASTIC, and very close in design to his comic book counterpart. The fact that Bucky made sure the Wakandan designers included Red Wing makes me chuckle. The wings must have some kind of neural interface or advanced control system because during a lot of those flight and fight sequences, they almost appeared to be a part of his body, like how an actual bird would use them. A+ design.
5) I don't think wrapping up everything with a neat bow was the point of this series, as much as people wanted it to be. The Marvel universe is just that... a universe. With lots of people and storylines. But, that being said, there was a lot of character exploration and development. Sam and Bucky had their heart to heart, Flag Smashers were defeated, Isaiah got the recognition he deserved, John Walker got a beat down and had his title revoked (and ran to Val with his tail between his twitchy ass legs), and Sam took the shield. The angsty parts got their resolutions, but they also left the door open to explore other people besides the title characters.
6) John Walker... his story arc is confusing and I feel like there's some holes in there that might have come from the rewrites. Whatever PTSD he had before the serum was amplified after he took it, and stuff like that doesn't just disappear. All of the twitching and anger issues... he's a time bomb waiting to explode, just like how he did when he killed Nico. So yeah, Val made him USAgent, gave him a new identity that's his own, but he's still unhinged. He's going to be used as a weapon by Val and whatever agency she works with/for, just like how Bucky was used as a weapon for Hydra.
7) I love that they showed Bucky going back to tell Nakajima what happened to his son. The raw emotion on his face, finally confronting his past deeds as the Winter Soldier, and giving someone the answer they've so desperately wanted even though it meant likely losing one of the few friends he had. Bucky was making amends by trying to fix the things that occurred because of what he did as the Winter Soldier out of his own guilt, instead of being selfless and admitting to those directly affected what he did.
8) There are some parallels between Bucky and Walker. Bucky saved Steve from the river in CA: TWS without really knowing why, and I think John Walker saved that truck from going over the edge without really knowing why either, almost like it was a gut instinct. He may have questionable morals, but he still has some kind of morals deep inside that serum hazed brain of his from when he was a solider. Walker even dropped the shield to grab the truck, just like how Steve dropped the shield on the helicarrier.
9) Isaiah Bradley finally getting the recognition he deserves... absolutely touching, and a long time coming. Just because Isaiah wanted to remain dead doesn't mean he should be given the attention and respect he deserves for what he did.
10) Is Bucky living with Sam now? Have the Wilson's adopted him? Is this a true Uncle Buck situation? Will a (hopefully happening) season 2 have a Sarah and Bucky romance to annoy the shit out of Sam with?

Ok but wasn't Sharon Carter (Agent 13) and Countessa Valentina De Fontaine (Agent 14) on the Femme Force (leaders even if I'm not mistaken)? Why aren't we talking about that?!
..... can we talk about that instead of Sharon potentially being the power broker? 😭 *she said in complete denial*
(I WILL CONTINUE TO CLOWN MYSELF IN DENIAL about the power broker/sharon carter theory UNTIL I SEE EXPLICIT CONFIRMATION ON SCREEN WITH MY OWN 2 EYEBALLS)

I’m thinking about how I want this (season?) of TFATWS to end and I have come up with this:
Walker Cap is still alive and with his own shield. He is necessary to being a part of the Dark Avengers down the line.
Old Man Steve Rogers visits Isiah Bradley (like in the comics), uses his connections to bring recognition to Isiah Bradley. Perhaps his own wing in the Captain America museum thing.
Sam Wilson embraces the role of Captain America.
Torres uses Sam’s spare wings to rescue him and hints at him being the new Falcon and Sam’s partner.
Sam Wilson starts mentoring and visiting Eli Richardson for him to eventually become Patriot (I feel like for this to work, they would need to kill off Isiah, I don’t like it but I see it happening)
Baron Zemo escapes into Madripoor for future use down the line, perhaps a Season 2.
Thunderbolt Ross is the Power Broker and recruits Walker Cap to his side (for future use of Dark Avengers)
Sharon Carter meets with a Skrull who confirms that Nick Fury is still alive and in space and that she will be needed for a secret mission (you gotta say the word Secret)
Karli is killed by Walker Cap. IMO you can’t keep all these super soldiers alive, it’ll be too messy for the movies to explain quickly and it can further Walker’s “Patriotism” and make it clear there will be no redemption to his character.
TBH I don’t know what to do with Bucky and his arc, I guess just have him going back to therapy and have a second first date with that chick from the 1st episode again.
