Recently diagnosed autistic as an adult after seeking an adhd diagnosis (just looking for answers really) and trying to let go of the shame and fear of being 'weird' and giving myself permission to stim and regulate in the ways I've spent over a decade suppressing. It's scary because I have heard some of the expected "you're just acting autistic now because they told you you are" but it's also so freeing. There's this overwhelming sense of RELIEF that's hard to put into words. Just needed to tell someone!

I’m so glad! I also went down the route of originally going for an adhd diagnosis and then finding out I was autistic (but for me it was as well as adhd) and I just got the diagnosis the other week so I absolutely feel your happiness!!

It’s the worst when people make comments like that, though. I hope they don’t ruin your vibe too much and that you get to be happy about it like you obviously want to be!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a Sharing Sunday but I need more people to read this incredible fic! 

@matrixaffiliate has created such a perfect niche for the pirate trope that it needs more attention! Let’s start of with the simple fact... who doesn’t love a pirate’s tale?! Especially one where we get to see hinny in such perfect characterization, in such a great world. Not only do we get to see their feisty tempers but watch them fall in love. We also get one of my favorite tropes, fighting the falling in love only to fail. 

This story has it all. Great plot, funny lines, adorable moments that just make you fall in love with everyone. Such a great read and everyone should give it a chance!

I don't know if I'm ADHD honestly

My dad has mild ADHD, but I've never been tested. I took the medicine for a while, but it didn't help so I stopped and they just I assumed it was too mild.

I put it in my Discord about me for a while

But then a friend of mine said I couldn't self diagnose, and it just wasn't proper. So I stopped..

I don't know what to do

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with self-diagnosis, no matter what some people say. Half the time the people with a problem with it don’t even have adhd themselves.

Everyone has to self-diagnose at some point, or they’d never think to ask a doctor to confirm it.

If you think you relate to the symptoms, talk to a doctor about it. Taking your dad’s medication simply might not have worked because the meds were the wrong dosage or type to work for you.

Isn't it fun how everyone saw what terrified them most, but Nya's was so "unbelievable" that she broke out instantly? She was shown the one thing that was supposed to terrify her, make her spiral. But of course it wasn't real. It's Jay. If there's one thing she never once doubted, its that Jay is absolutely smitten, so of course he'd never forget her. What a silly thing to think, to be afraid of. She went through so damn much for this boy, and him for her, and we know how she is. Wouldn't it be petrifying if all that work, all that emotional turmoil, that clawing for love, could be forgotten just like that? Its quite a feat, really, that she can finally be confident in knowing such a fear is irrational.

It was easy to break free from such a place. It was only ever meant to scare her, and she has nothing to be afraid of. Right?

He snapped back immediately into reality. Their journey ends this week with her telling him "Doctor, you can stop now," and the Doctor once again listens to her and accepts it's true to the point he tells so to himself.

Donna Noble not just has saved the world, her family, her home, herself, and the universe a couple of times, but also she saved her best friend many times over, and built a life for herself so good she was able to bring him back to it

artist's statement: siobhan roy, in antiquated but historically-indistinct and provocative dress, is shown being fatally impaled through the skull by her whimsical, treacherous steed and beast of burden, tom wambsgans. her attire, as with her relationship, is both affixed in and apart from time: it alludes to an era which it does not belong to. tom and shiv are a contemporary couple, but figuratively engage in an antiquated, eternal dynamic wherein the male asserts dominance over the female through violence, delivered in the show in the form of betrayal. however, references to active movement in the falling of dripping blood indicate to the viewer the dynamism of this relationship, which could seemingly change in the following moment, were time allowed to resume. the absurd and comical image of tom as a unicorn, with equine lashes and sparkling eyes, is contrasted with the brutality of his actions against shiv, making evident the fact that he is not to be underestimated. the disarming sexual innuendo - the act of penetration, as tom "fucks" shiv, and the froth pouring from his mouth, an allusion to tom swallowing his own ejaculate at his bachelor party and an additional symbol of both his rabid defiance and affection for himself and his own ambitions - adds to the potent discomfort of the moment. tom's ears are flattened back in aggression and shiv bleeds profusely, yet both wear serene smiles, not allowing the other to win in spite of the pain of being respectively owned by his wife and murdered by her husband. tom, despite it all, looks to shiv, his master whom he has defied, and shiv looks outwards, forcing herself into a position of unwavering invulnerability in the face of her ending. "god be with ye" is a helpless prayer for the doomed spouses, and a parting message: "god be with ye" is shortened in modern english to "goodbye". goodbye soon, shiv and tom, i will always love you. ❤️
