hey i have a request!
so in sm fics the reader is always cuddled in between the boys and i love it its so cute but i cant help but imagine how unbearably hot it would be being in between both of them so could i request a silly fluffy blurb of the reader cuddling with paul and seth and she’s sweating because its so hot so she tries to get away from them and they are so offended and she’s giggling and they like playfully attack her and force her to lay with them
so cutie lol!
...
"fuck me," you whined, quickly sitting up when you realized just how hot you were getting from laying inbetween not one, but two boys who ran temperatures of a steady 108 degrees on a good day. today though, it felt like they were literally furnaces and you absolutely despised feeling hot and sticky.
you reached over seth to grab your hydroflask, taking multiple rather large gulps of water before deciding you had cooled off enough, "you're so dramatic, you know that?" paul asked, still sprawled out on the bed with your other imprinter on the other side of you, both looking rather disgruntled by the fact that you'd sat up while they were trying to cuddle with you.
you took one final sip before turning to glare at paul, "i literally feel like i'm in a sauna. it's way too hot down there," you admitted, shuddering at the thought of having to be that hot again the second you laid back down in between the two boys.
seth cracked a smile at your dramatic shudder, taking your hydroflask from you so he could set it back down on the table next to the bed while you and paul continued your theatrical bickering.
"you weren't whining about that last night when i was-" paul began but you were quick to cut him off with a loud gasp, playfully smacking his sweatpant clad thigh to show your disapproval of the lewd comment you guessed was about to come out of his mouth.
"paul lahote!" you laughed, "that was different and you know it!" you exclaimed, all three of you laughing at your miserable attempt to defend yourself against paul's (very sexual but albeit true) allegations.
paul rolled his eyes, a casual smirk on his face and one arm bent to rest a hand behind his head as he watched the way your cheeks turned a bright pink over your embarrassment, "seth tell him-" you attempted to get your other boyfriend to jump in to aid in your defense before paul could make another comment about you ogling his shirtless body.
seth just let out a breathy laugh, "pretty girl," the pet name rolled off his tongue so easily and you couldn't seem to contain the way your stomach erupted into butterflies over it, both seth and paul knowing all too well just how flustered they could easily make you, "why don't you lay back down and i'll turn the fan on, yea?" he suggested and paul didn't seem to take too kindly to seth's gentle tone, instead just grabbing you by your hips and manhandling you back down into the bed.
you were laughing, playfully pushing paul's hands off your hips which had him just wrapping his beefy arms around you to hold you tight against his chest. before the two of you could get too into it, you felt some much needed reprieve as the cool air from the fan hit your skin, "better?" seth asked as he got back into bed with you and paul, rolling over so he could spoon you and press a gentle kiss to your neck.
you hummed and nodded, peeking over your shoulder to smile at him, "much better," you reassured, pecking his lips before turning back to paul to do the same for him.

Seth Clearwater x Reader: Couch Cushion
Word Count: 411 Summary: The Reader is very sleepy, nearly exhausted from not sleeping too well. After they doze off for a while, they wake up to find Seth snuggling with them. Will they find a solution to their recent lack of sleep?
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~
  The clock displayed the time: a little after three. If it were three in the morning, you would have been happier. You would have welcomed sleep with open arms. However, it was three in the afternoon. At least it was the weekend.   The need for sleep gently pulled your eyelids closed. You fought it off each time. But the comfort of the couch and the relaxation that you finally felt was the perfect combination. And soon, you gave up. Giving in to the notion that your mundane plans would have to wait a little while longer.
  All too soon, your eyes opened. If not for your eyes locking with the little hands on the clock, you could have sworn that sleep had been merely a tease. But time had passed. Thankfully, no so much as to overwhelm you with a rush of needs to be done.   A difference had been made during your short slumber. Warmth. Wiggling your fingers, they padded over a plush blanket. One that you were certain had been in another room entirely. But, blanket aside, your back was much warmer than the rest of your body. There could only be one portable heater that could emit such warmth.
  “Seth?”   “I’m sorry, did I wake you?” His voice was small, but very close.   “No,” you assured, “I probably would’ve woken up anyway.”   Seth nuzzled his face into the crock of your neck. “You’d think you were the one going on patrols at night,” he teased lightly.   “I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s subconscious. I’ve just been waking up every time I hear even the faintest howl. It hasn’t happened before.”   Snuggling back into him, you pulled the hem of the blanket up closer.   “Maybe you just like to listen to the howls so much that you don’t want to miss a single one? Even if you’re sleeping.”   You gave a short laugh. “I guess I could try listening to music instead. It’s either that, or psych myself out of it.”   “Yeah,” he agreed. “I don’t think it will last forever. But I’ll bring it up to Leah and Jacob. Maybe we can get everybody to be a little more quiet. If only for a few days.”   “Thanks.”   Seth pressed a soft kiss to your cheek and held you tighter to him.   “It’s not like you all can’t just talk with your minds, you know,” you added, making Seth chuckle.   “We’re just a talkative bunch, I guess.”
Standing In The Rain
pairings: Seth x reader
summary: after weeks of not talking due to secrets being held Seth finally confronts the reader while standing in the rain
warnings: angst then fluff 😋
w/c: 1087
Masterlist
A/N: Thank you guys for 1,000+ notes on Rainy Days ♥️🥺
Tumblr media
“So you’re just going to leave me out in the rain!?” Seth yelled, his hands waving in the air as he tried his best to get your attention.
The rain poured down on the roof of your car, you sat watching the wipers push the hard rain off of your windows. Everything was calm for a few seconds, you had just arrived back from your night class. The news that was spreading on the radio caught your attention, and that was one of the reasons why you decided to sit in the car, the other was the rain that was pouring down. The final one was your boyfriend standing in the middle of your driveway blocking you from entering your house.
It has been approximately a week since you last spoke to him, it honestly didn’t bother you. Every time you thought about him you grew irritated with him and the situation he put you in. No explanation could honestly bring you out of this funk that you were in, however, if you didn’t allow him into your car your parents would come outside and invite him into your house.
With the most stoic facial expression, you unlocked the door, you kept your eyes on him as he made his way around to your car. Once he touched bases in your passenger seat you went back to what you were doing before he interrupted you. Seth on the other hand was pushing every button on the heat to get warm.
Your eyes raised with the utmost cockiness there was, “I thought you couldn’t get sick. Isn’t that the werewolf within you?”
Seth turned to look at you, from the corner of your eye you could still see the water pellets dropping from his skin. “Yeah, but I’m still soaking wet from the water. I’ve been standing out there for like 26 minutes.” He continued to ramble about the rain getting into his ears making them hurt when they dry. And how he was going to smell like a wet dog since his clothes were all muddy. He talked and talked until he finally stopped, he noticed that you weren’t listening to him. Your eyes were glued to your garage, too deep in your thoughts to even give a damn about what he was saying.
“Can I explain myself?” He asked, he reached into your back seat to grab a spare shirt of yours. His hands ran through his hair as he tried his best to dry it with the cotton material.
You looked down at your apple watch, it was already going on 9 at night. Your curfew was at 10 so that meant he only had approximately 10 minutes to explain himself.
“There’s honestly nothing to explain, I’ve heard it all Seth.” You turned to look at him, he was staring back at you with the utmost remorseful look. You could tell he meant no harm from the situation but it hurt knowing that he lied. “It hurts more knowing that I had to hear it from them rather than you.”
His eyes softened as he began to speak, “I know, trust me I was going to tell you but I didn’t want it to be too much on you. You know the whole werewolf thing is one thing but imprinting is a whole other situation. That was something special I was supposed to tell you.”
With your arms crossed you leaned back into the chair. The flashback of that day came dancing back into your head. The boys joking around with their girlfriends, Seth walked away from the group for one second and the beans were spilled. He could’ve warned the boys that you didn’t know, you sat there looking stupid with tears in your eyes. They told you what imprinting was, it sounded like Seth was only with you because he had to. You genuinely had a love for Seth Clearwater and it hurt to know that the same love that you had for him wasn’t the same for him. Seth's love was forced upon him, he had no choice but to you love.
Forcefully your eyes closed, and the hurt you felt from the weeks prior started to emerge. You could feel Seth pulling your arm into him. You didn’t bother to put up a fight, you allowed your body to melt into his wet one. “They made it seem like you’re only with me because of fate. Like we’re supposed to be in love because you imprinted on me. It honestly sounds creepy Seth.” You mumbled into his shirt, you could hear his heartbeat getting faster by the minute. He was nervous.
“See, That’s exactly why I didn’t want to tell you yet. It’s so much more than that (Y/N). I’m not with you because I imprinted on you, I’m with you because I genuinely have a love for you and I want to be with you.” His head rested on top of yours as he tapped his fingers gently against your skin.
“I don’t like the secrets Seth, that’s why I was so upset with you. You can’t hide things like this from me no matter how bad you think they are.”
“I know and I’m sorry. I was just trying to do the right thing. It’s a lot to take on but trust me when I say that I didn’t want to hurt you. I would never do that to you (Y/N). From now on no more secrets.”
He held out his pinky finger which you wrapped your own tightly around. That sealed the deal about everything you two just talk about Looking up at Seth you could see the moonlight reflecting off of his brown eyes, he looked like he was in deep thought. His eyes were panned out to the rain. Gently you shook his arm catching his attention, “Seth, I’m not blaming you for any of this. I guess I was just stuck in my own ways. I understand that you wanted to wait for my well-being which I respect so much about you. But next time could you please give your boys head-ups.” You laughed, Seth nodded his head. The biggest grin on his face.
With one hand under your chin, he brought your lips up to his. “You don’t have to worry about anything else princess.” He whispered those words against your lips before closing the space with his own.
the artist and the singer
pairing: seth clearwater x gn!reader
summary: in which an artist and a singer fall in love, where notebooks are revealed and kisses are shared.
word count: 691 words
author’s note: my first fic! super super nervous and idk if i like this one anymore but im still sharing it! I HATE DOING SUMMARIES anyways i tried to make it as neutral as possible, so everyone can read it! so so sorry if there are any mistakes. ib and dt to @the-wolf-moon-diaries ! their work is so amazing so go and read it! again this is my first ever time posting my work on here so please be gentle with me <33
Tumblr media
it wasn’t a secret that seth was an artist. it wasn’t a surprise, seeing that he was always doodling in class and had numerous paintings and scratch piece of papers that filled every blank space on the walls of his home. sometimes, he would give you a glimpse into his world and show you his current pieces and doodles, and sometimes, he didn’t. not when it came to the red leather sketchbook that he carried with him practically everywhere. he never let you sneak a glance, moving the notebook with a teasing smile before you can lean over. you always wonder what was in that red leather sketchbook of his.
and then you saw it.
inside that red leather sketchbook, the pages were filled with sketches and drawings of you. sketches of your hands, your eyes, your lips fill the empty spaces of his notebook as he daydreams during class. on all of his school handouts and homework, there is at least one drawing of a facial feature that none of the teachers could decipher until they saw him with you. it all made sense when he was next to you, and his eyes were filled with such a soft look that the teachers can only describe as one thing: love.
throughout his sketchbook, there are sketches of you smiling, laughing, napping during class… once you open this journal, you are astonished. he captures you beautifully in a light that you couldn't possibly see yourself in. of course, seth is flushed with embarrassment when you find it, snatching it out of your hands and slamming it shut. but, his embarrassment slowly fading away as you wrap your arms around his neck, smiling uncontrollably, and kiss him with the lips that he’s drawn and dreamt about a million times. “they’re beautiful. can i see more?”
while much a surprise to him, after you found his sketchbook, you reach over to your backpack and pull out a blue hardcover journal filled with songs. songs that were about you. about your life. but, a majority of the songs were about him. about you guys. of course, seth always knew you were a singer-songwriter, but he never could've fathomed that some of the songs you were writing were about him. that any of your songs were about him. and as he read through the songs, whether they were short stanzas or lengthy pieces, he read every single lyric and engraved them into his heart. he felt his heart pour out of his body and into the hands of the angel of a person sitting next to him nervously.
from that moment on, he knew that his heart wasn’t his. he was fully aware that his heart didn’t belong to him anymore. instead, it fell right out of his chest into the hands of the person, if not an angel, sitting right next to him with a nervous furrow of their eyebrows as they watched him carefully. his heart belonged to y/n y/l/n, and he wouldn’t want it any other way.
after much silence and anticipation, your mind was swarming with uneasy and nerve-wracking thoughts. was it too much? does he think it’s weird? am i going to lose the only boy that will ever love me? you were brought back to reality once you saw seth turn and face you. when you looked up, you were instantly struck and overwhelmed by the loving and soft gaze he had in his eyes and that oh-so-handsome grin that adorned his face. you were taken aback when he all but pounced onto you, pressing firm but soft kisses all over your face. you were more surprised by the question that followed. “will you play one for me?”
it was the first time that you ever played a song for him, but after that, it was not the last. you go to him every time you write a new song, whether or not it’s about him, and every time you do, he always looks at you with those starstruck eyes that make you float. he will forever and always be your number-one fan, just like how you are his.
Free Until Dawn
Tumblr media
Before we start, a few bullet point facts to get out of the way:
•Jake and Bella are the same age (Bella is still older) and Seth and A.J. are a year younger than them
•In this Twilight fanfic universe, vamps and wolves who were changed before they turned 18 continue to age until they reach 18 cause I said so
•Jasper served in the Union
•My idioms or comparisons may suck but sometimes the only way for me to get a point across is to be extremely descriptive
•This story follows both the movies and books and may switch between the book’s timeline and the movies
•Proofread but not perfect
Also this story is Seth Clearwater x OC (?) Cullen based on my friend who requested this slow-burn fic, cause there are almost no Seth fanfics (the disrespect😤✊🏻). All chapters are named after Florence+the Machine songs cause me and my bestie love her stuff.
Word count: 9491
Without further ado…Chapter 4 of Shake It Out
——————————
     “You going to play fair this time?” Alice asked as she stretch her left arm across her chest while standing at second base.
     Emmett scoffed, twisting his back only a few away from Alice, “I always play fair.” The striped baseball cap was secured by him for emphasis.
     As it thundered around them, seven out of the eight vampires were currently preparing for a game of baseball patiently, on some parts, awaiting Bella and Edward’s arrival following the Cullen's official introduction to her. Lucky for Bella, she was about to witness a sacred tradition in the Cullen household that started years before A.J. was around. It was something each vastly different personality could enjoy and gave each of them a chance to use their physically enhanced abilities to their full capacity.
     Nine days after A.J. joined the rest of her family in Forks, Edward decided a baseball game was just what A.J. needed. The idea for a baseball game to ease A.J. into the new family dynamic, came to Edward after he caught A.J. reminiscing about a game-saving catch from her human years. Later that day, he approached Carlisle and proposed a game the next time it stormed, and naturally, Carlisle and everyone else eagerly agreed. So on the ninth day, when the forecast called for a thunderstorm and delivered, the Cullens played a heated baseball game.
     During A.J.’s first game of baseball with the Cullens, the newborn broke out from the remainder of the barrier she had built up after her transformation. Being a part of the winning team, with star pitcher Alice, definitely aided A.J. in feeling like her old self. Easily the last ‘strike’ of her barrier, especially since striving to win and typically doing so, had encapsulated her human years. Along with the fun on that day, Emmett saw an opportunity to ensure he would always be on the winning team and jumped on the bandwagon; claiming the title ‘A.J.’s Coach’ after witnessing her skilled third-basemen skills.
     “Nu-uh,” Alice exclaimed and placed her hands on dark leggings, “You totally lied about that ‘foul ball’.”
     “I didn’t lie about the foul ball you hit.” the younger of the two Cullens smirked, “Ain’t nothing to be ashamed of, Alice. You’re just a crappy hitter.”
     Alice gasped and smacked his shoulder, “At least I can pitch without taking someone’s head out!” she defended herself.
     Emmett snickered before a smug smirk crept onto his alabaster skin, “Can’t help it, Wonderland. I’m jacked like Hercules!” he kissed both of his biceps after flexing underneath his navy blue tracksuit.
     “Alright, alright, alright,” Jasper called out as he strutted towards the bickering siblings, “No fraternizing with the enemy.”
     The Texan placed a hand upon Alice’s narrow shoulders which dawned a white baseball vest, and gently guided her away from Emmett with a baseball bat in his other hand.
     By first base, a groan came from Rosalie that was bending down by the waist and holding her calves to stretch. The couple and Emmett, who were conglomerating near home base, turned their attention to her.
     “You’ve watched ‘Dazed and Confused’ too many times.” the tall blonde gracefully swung her torso up to stand straight.
     “No such thang’, Rosie.” A.J. quipped while flashing next to Rosalie with a moderately sized pink boom box in her sleeve-covered arms, “We Texans support each other.”
     A.J. met eyes with Jasper’s, a mischievous glint in both their eyes to match their smirks. A silent conversation transpired between the Texans, much to the others' despair before they both resumed what they had been doing.
      The youngest Hale gave Rosalie a friendly pat on the back and clicked her tongue before jogging off toward the right side of home plate where Esme and Carlisle were chatting. Her black backpack bounced off of her back as the wind pushed against the buttoned pinstripe shirt, which was similar to Carlisle’s, which was tucked into her black leggings. On her feet was a pair of hot pink socks that peeked out of the same dusty white sneakers she always wore when participating in any outdoor activity - provided an extra bounce to her step.
     A ‘bleh’ left A.J. when Carlisle and Esme shared a sweet kiss just as she walked past them.
     “I think I feel my teeth rottin’.” the girl swiped her tongue across her top set of teeth.
     The lovers parted with a chortle from each and turned their attention to their youngest child.
     “You know, Angel,” Esme sang as A.J. set the boom box down after kneeling a few feet away from them, “You might find yourself falling for someone like your father and I have for each other.”
     A.J. shook her head as four of her siblings snapped their attention to their conversation.
     “Absolutely not,” Emmett commented with a small frown.
     Alice rolled her eyes at the overprotective brute, “Dating is normal and healthy; especially for developing teenagers.” she spoke with her arms crossed.
     Rosalie stared at Alice, “She’s going to have to wait, regardless, Alice. There aren’t exactly sixteen-year-old vampires roaming around here, and we don’t need another reason for the Volturi to be on our backs.”
      The Cullens stilled. Faces dropping, bodies tensing, and minds swirling with guilt. The words Rosalie were the same as they always were; spitting out insults or malign words aimed towards Edward and Bella’s relationship. Though, this time, her words held a different meaning for the group. Reminding them all A.J. couldn’t have what they wanted her to; what they all wished she could.
     A normal life.
     Having been changed at the youngest age of fifteen in the Olympic Coven, she had even less time to have lived as a human. Too quickly was she thrown into this world; too quickly had she been forced out of the other. They all knew she loved her family dearly, and they shared the sentiment, but they were aware of her desire to ‘be’ a teenager again; to live a normal adolescence. They desired the same for her. Rosalie most of all. Despite a few apprehensions about A.J. dating, the choice being stripped from her makes it a bit harder to play the role of an ‘overprotective and gruff’ family member.
     A.J., having her back turned to the brooding vampires, knew what they were all thinking and could feel the tension in the atmosphere. She often thinks of the same thing - she craves it. Not necessarily romance, but at least the choice to.  More often than not, she chooses not to share her thoughts on it, except for a few times when Edward caught her thinking about it or her and Rosalie’s late-night talks. Unfortunately, ignoring them only made the thoughts and desires stronger. The fact of the underlying doom of immortality is that every choice you’d thought you’d gain - every decision you’d thought you’d get to make twice, gets ripped away from you in a few short moments.
     A.J. shook her shoulders as if a chill ran over her, and unzipped the small compartment on the front of her backpack once she set it in front of her.
     “Listen,” she broke the silence as she pulled out a CD case with four men sitting around a table on the cover, “they’d have to be a very special person for me to consider datin’ - I mean, I’m hot…and got standards.”
     Her unspoken mission of raising the mood was a success as a plethora of smiles, and an eye roll or two made its way around.
     “Oh no! Guys, where’d the sky go?” Emmett feigned a look of fear as he peered up at the sky with a hand as a shield, “Oh, never mind, it’s just A.J.’s big-ass head.”
     A.J.’s mouth dropped at her brother's words just as she finished placing the CD in the correct compartment, and twisted her torso while in a squatted position.
     Rosalie sent a glare toward Emmett before saying, “There’s nothing wrong with confidence.” her eyes softened when she turned to A.J. from afar.
     “It’s hot on you, babe,” Emmett explained, his body language matching his whiny tone, “Not on A.J.”
     A.J. snorted, along with Alice, and the other Cullens gave Emmett a look of confusion at his choice of words.
     “I sure hope it’s not hot on me,” A.J. spoke with a flabbergasted tone as she fumbled with buttons on her boombox.
     Emmett physically faltered, “I-I-you guys know I didn’t mean it like that.”
     Jasper quirked an eyebrow up, “Oh, really, dearest brother? Then by all means, please elaborate your eloquent words.” he spoke with one hand still on Alice’s shoulder and the other twirling the metal bat.
     Emmett frowned, “I was trying to compliment my wife and insult A.J. at the same time, which proved to be more difficult than expected.”
     “Seems you really are only brawn.” Jasper teased further, an almost sinister smirk across his face.
     “Hey!” Rosalie barked out with a harsh expression, “I may be on your team, but I won’t hesitate to hurt you.”
     Emmett’s demeanor changed instantly to smugness at Rosalie coming to his defense. The smirk on Jasper’s face didn’t move, instead, it seemed to grow wider at Rosalie’s threat; as if he were daring her to touch him. He dropped his arm from Alice’s shoulders and dipped it into his pocket.
     “I’d like to see you try, yank.” the Texan leaned back as he pointed the baseball bat at her.
     At the sight of Rosalie beginning to stomp forward, Carlisle thought it best to speak up.
     “Rose,” the eldest vampire warned, arm tucked under his wife’s white jacket and around her waist.
     The irritated blonde’s head snapped toward Carlisle’s so fast it was a miracle it didn’t break.
     “What?” She spat, annoyed at Jasper and Carlisle.
     Carlisle gave her one of his hopeful smiles, “Let’s try to have a nice day.”
     “That goes for you too, Jasper,” Esme paused before switching her gaze to a smug Emmett, “And you.”
     “W-what-I,” Emmett fumbled over his words, “I’m a victim of defamation! I’m innocent here.”
     Jasper lowered the bat to the ground and settled his weight on it.
     “Yer’ ‘bout as innocent-,”
     A.J. drowned out the bickering behind her, engrossed in her boom box and getting it to work. The recurring problem, which she insisted was easily fixable and did not require a new one, was that the CD she put in would spin for a few seconds before coming to a stop. She grew more agitated as she repeated the process of taking the CD out, exhaling on it as she would on a cold window, gently wiping it off on her black leggings, then placing it back in the compartment, and pressing play - only to have to repeat the process. After another failed attempt, A.J. took an unsatisfying deep breath before forcefully exhaling through her nose.
     “Shit.” A.J. huffed to herself, thankful no one could hear her over the bickering.
     “Ya know, ever since the fall of New Year’s Eve of ‘08, my boom box ain’t never played the same.” A.J. thought aloud to anyone who would listen.
     Rosalie was heading up the field and across to A.J.’s side instantaneously; always being willing to help her baby sister. It helped that she was the most skilled mechanic out of the Cullen Coven; her confidence in cars crossed over to most things technical…except t.v.s, though she was always looking to expand her knowledge. In her own time.
     “Did you put fresh batteries in?” Rosalie inquired once she reached A.J.
     A.J. observed Rosalie squatting down next to her, out of her peripheral vision.
     “Yes, I put fresh batteries in,” A.J. snarked out without thinking.
     The tone she used earned the young vampire a warning look from Rosalie, who stared her sister down. A.J. shut her eyes and turned away for a moment, before returning her gaze to Rosalie.
     “Sorry, that w’n’t directed at you,” she earnestly apologized, “This damn thang’ is pissin’ me off.” she gestured vigorously at the malfunctioning boombox with pinched brows.
     Rosalie ushered a ‘thank you’ in response before examining the portable stereo further.
     As the two Hale girls inspected the boombox and the other Cullens chatted amongst themselves, a silver jeep pulled toward the wide-open field. Its wheels tracked through the soft ground, leaving a muddy trail behind it and on the black tires.
     Esme and Alice both grinned excitedly at the arrival of the new couple and Carlisle smiled softly, not outwardly matching their level of excitement. Emmett and Jasper were too busy misconducting themselves to turn their attention to the car as it was pulled into park a bit away from the others. From beside her, A.J. felt Rosalie tense up. Well aware of Rosalie’s opinion on all of this, she knew her attitude could turn fast and possibly ruin what was supposed to be some family fun time.
     Esme and Carlisle shared a look before both turning back to give Rosalie an encouraging smile. Rosalie, who held the look of distaste she always held when Bella was in mind, gave them nothing promising in return. With a cheesy grin and painfully raised eyebrows, A.J. shot her parents a double thumbs up. The couple chuckled at her behavior and returned her thumbs up and smile, at a lesser volume.
     The eldest Hale sister turned her attention to A.J. after observing Carlisle and Esme’s reactions, to find her sister still in the over-the-top position. In a blink, the newborn now sat with a dramatized frown and slowly raised her left hand to rest on her no-longer beating heart. Her head shook in a defeated manner, in hope that her big sister would crack a smile at her ludicrous behavior. Fortunately for A.J., in a move so minuscule only the trained eye would notice, the right corner of Rosalie's lips raised ever so slightly. Victoriously, A.J. beamed; savoring the lightened presence and softened gaze of her bitter sister.
     During this transaction, Edward stepped out of the driver's side door and walked around the silver Jeep he arrived in. His gaunt hand opened the passenger-side door, and out stepped Bella in a rugged, brown jacket with her brown hair in a ponytail covered by a baseball cap that mimicked Emmett’s, only being worn the right way around. Her shoulders were hunched as she was within herself in a way that completely contradicted the way Edward delved into himself; usually. Today, however, Edward seemed more withdrawn than usual. Previous teasing didn’t aid in reducing his nerves at all, and the fact of the constant threat this brought to Bella and his family, well, it added up.
     The couple shared the same social awkwardness, but Bella carried herself in a way that lacked confidence and made her appear fragile. Whereas during most occasions for Edward, he exuded confidence, some even say arrogance; at least that’s what A.J. had heard from her sibling's school gossip and teasing. For the unusual pair, however, it seemed to work quite well for them.
    While A.J. observed her brother and his new girlfriend, Rosalie had found what she believed to be ‘the sweet spot’ on the pink boom box. With a loud ‘thump’ that nearly made A.J. jump out of her skin and attracted the others' attention, the CD in it began spinning fast. A.J. beamed at her sister, who she considered a hero at the moment, and flicked her head between the boom box and her at a lightning-fast speed. A.J. excitedly placed her index finger onto the ‘play’ atop the boom box and pressed it without hesitation. Music blared from the speakers, bass instantly filling the chests of the two vampires who sat in front of it.
     “WHOO!” A.J. cheered and fell back onto her butt.
     Emmett thrust his fist into the air, “HELL YEAH!” he yelled.
     “YEAH!” Jasper joined with a playfully stern face and copied Emmett’s action with the bat.
     From an awkward angle, the ecstatic newborn wrapped her strong arms around Rosalie’s midsection, nearly toppling the elder Hale over.
     “Thank you!” the girl squealed while Rosalie gained her balance back.
     Rosalie smiled brightly as she hugged A.J. back, “No problem, just stop letting people touch your stuff.”
     “I tried to stop Emmett from recreating that scene from ‘Say Anything’.” Edward called out from the Jeep where he and Bella just finished a conversation.
     “Aw, come on,” Emmett whined with a smile, “It was Valentine's Day! I had to do something for my babe. After 72 years together, you gotta’ keep it fresh.”
     The burly Cullen winked at Rosalie, who didn’t spare a glance at her husband, leaving him dejected as she marched her way to Carlisle who was only a few feet away from her. Carlisle had retrieved the second baseball bat from a long white and blue that also contained extra gloves and umpire gear and was resting his weight upon it. He greeted Rosalie with a close-lipped smile and opened his mouth to ask her but was quickly stopped by her palm flying up in front of him as she stomped by.
     A.J. could feel the anger radiating off of her sister, even without a special power and her being across the field now. She knew it was a miracle for Rosalie to even be here, with her previous plan of leaving to avoid the game and Bella all together. Without a doubt, A.J. knew it would get better once the game started, the others thought so as well, especially since her demeanor was quite bright beforehand the new couple arrived.
     “So that’s how you’ve managed to keep her.” Edward teased Emmett as he and Bella reached home plate.
     Emmett flashed next to Edward, causing Bella to jump, and wrapped a thick arm around his brother’s shoulders, which were covered by a button-up baseball jersey.
    Edward gave the younger vampire a look, already knowing what he was about to say.
     “Emmett, that’s revolting,” Edward grimaced and pulled himself from Emmett’s grip.
     “What?” Emmett furrowed his dark brows, “I was just gonna remind you that I’m not the one who thought sparkling was a dealbreaker.” he decided to keep his previous thought to himself.
     A few of the Cullen ‘children’ laughed at Emmett’s remark, despite it being at Edward’s expense. His joke, as expected, did not sit well with Edward who was glaring at his brother.
    A.J. glanced up at Jasper messing with a baseball bat, “Oo! That’s awkward.”
     The girl sucked a breath through her bunny-like teeth while beginning to read through the tracklist on the back of her CD case.
     A half-hearted grin slowly spread its way onto Edward’s face and his right flew up to swipe his mouth.
     “You know, Emmett,” his arm was now around Emmett’s shoulders, “I think you're just scared of your team losing.”
     “Not unless you plan on throwing the game,” Emmett smirked with crossed arms.
     Edward’s shit-eating look was stolen by Emmett. His head snapped over to Esme, asking a silent question, but easily found the answer by using his gift.
     “Rosalie and Alice wanted to be on a team this time,” Esme explained nonetheless while grabbing umpire gear out of the baseball bag, “We’re team ‘Wonder Woman’!”
     Edward furrowed his brows, “Jasper’s on your team.” His inquiry was disguised as a statement.
     “It’s an honor to be on a team named after comics’  finest heroine,” Jasper answered for himself as he practiced his batting stance to the side of Carlisle and Rosalie.
     Edward looked to Emmett, “And we are…MVP?” a look of dissatisfaction was on his face.
     “I was vouchin’ fer the Cheetahs, personally,” A.J. spoke up, “You know, Wonder Woman’s nemesis and all.” she clicked the skip button at the top of the boom box.
     Esme smiled at her children’s banter and pushed her way toward Bella with a black baseball glove and chest protector. Bella met her gaze with a close-lipped smile and hesitantly took the glove when the Cullen matriarch extended it to her.
     “Glad you’re here,” Esme wrapped an arm around Bella, “We need an umpire,” she stated while leading the girl to home base.
     Emmett waltzed past them, “She thinks we cheat.” he continued heading down the field.
     “I know you cheat.” Esme taunted as Emmett tossed a baseball between his hands.
     A.J. tsked, “Y’all love to say that ‘cause our team happens to always win.” she goaded while placing her ‘Muse’ CD back into the small compartment of her backpack.
     “What about last time,” Rosalie asked with a sarcastic tone from her spot near second base.
     Bella glanced at the brooding woman, “What happened last time?” she switched her gaze to Esme as they parked themselves at home base.
     “Here, slip your jacket off for a moment, sweetie,” Esme instructed kindly, “Last time we all played, which was…,”
     “March 30,” Alice answered from the pitcher’s mound.
     Esme thanked Alice with a smile, “Thank you. Anyway, Carlisle continuously struck out during the first inning, resulting in team ‘VIP’ having five fewer runs than team ‘Great Batsy’.”
     During her explanation, Esme slipped the black chest protector over Bella’s neck.
     “Crying, Bella,” A.J. scooted her bottom to face Bella, “I was cryin’ and I don’t even have tears.”
     Carlisle smiled sheepishly, “In my defense, I had a lot on my mind.”
     A.J. didn’t miss the subtle embarrassment that showed on Edward’s face nor the looks her siblings gave him.
     “No excuse, sir,” A.J. threw a finger up, “We’re winners, and I expect ya ta act like it!”
     Her behavior earned a chuckle from Carlisle and an exclamation of agreement from Emmett.
     As this went on. Esme adjusted the chest guard causing Bella to blink at the sudden movement but eventually helped Esme settle it on her torso. Once it was resting on her shoulders, Edward snaked behind Bella and adjusted the straps across her upper back. Esme then stepped away to give the new lovers some space. Her pallid face held a warm expression at the sight of the ‘son’ she had grown most fond of, finally finding happiness in love.
     The sweet moment was soon ruined as Bella was jerked back by the force Edward unconsciously used. A crease formed between Esme’s dark eyebrows as she frowned at the  uncomfortable scene in front of her. She sent a small smile; whether it was a warning to be mindful or encouragement was unknown; and stepped away from the couple to help the others in setting up.
     “Sorry,” Edward’s hands faltered on the straps, “Last time I did this was back when A.J. had first joined us.” he secured the chest guard on Bella’s back.
     Bella nodded, still holding her brown jacket on her arm. The sleeves of her white shirt twisted as Edward’s hand snaked around her to lift the brown jacket off of her right arm.
     “It’s okay,” she swallowed as Edward prepared her coat to assist it on, “How long ago was that?”
     “Why does it matter?” Rosalie snarked out with crossed arms and a hip popped out.
     Edward paused in helping Bella put her jacket back on to give a warning look to the blonde.
     Carlisle’s lips pressed into a straight line, “Rose,” he warned.
     Bella looked back at Edward before back at Rosalie.
     “It doesn’t, I was just curious.” Bella answered honestly.
     “And it’s a perfectly valid question,” A.J. spoke up.
     Rosalie’s eye roll could practically be heard by the others.
     A.J. briefly glanced back at those behind her, “If we’re goin’ off the day I actually moved here, then…,” she trailed off while calculating.
     “A.J.’s lived here since last August.” Carlisle answered for her.
     Bella nodded as she consecutively pushed her arms through the sleeves of her jacket as Edward finished helping her by hiking the coat up until it was entirely back on.
     “It’s a little tight,” Bella stated with tight lips as she rolled her shoulders.
     The jacket she wore barely fit over the padding of the chest guard thrown onto her. Her arm movement was restricted, but she supposed it was better to have stiff arms than a shattered sternum.
     Loud guitar suddenly blared from A.J.’s boombox, the owner of it now swaggering over to home plate. She snatched up a black glove lined with hot pink from the gear bag on her way over.
     “Sorry, Bella-rella,” A.J. approached the uncomfortable human, “It’s either have no protection ‘gainst my lethal pitches and get soaked down to your knickers, or have protection from such pitches buuut still get soaked - ‘cause-uh-do you smell that?”
     A.J. threw her arm around Bella’s padded shoulders and thoroughly inhaled with her nose pointed toward the sky.
     “It’s gon’ rain.” A.J. rasped out while gradually lowering her head.
     Emmett grinned from over by third base, “It’s gon rain!” he repeated.
     “IT’S GON’ RAIN!” A.J. shouted before patting Bella on the back and jogging to the pitcher's mound.
     Esme chuckled next to Carlisle before turning to her husband.
     Her hands pressed his chest, “Alright, enough chitter-chatter, Bella didn’t come here to talk. Let’s play some baseball!”
     Esme patted Carlisle’s chest, signaling him and the remaining Cullens not in place, to assume their positions on the field.
     A.J. eyed Alice as she approached the pitcher’s mound, “You’re gonna’ have to move.” A.J. jutted her left thumb toward home plate.
     Alice furrowed her brows, “And why is that?”
     Rosalie frowned as Carlisle her way, “Yeah, why is that? The team I’m on lost last time.”
     “We know,” Emmett stated, “We decided, however, that we wanna play the field first… and so A.J. can pitch first.”
     Rosalie rolled her topaz eyes once again while Alice agreed to their decision and they both jogged back to home plate. The remaining two members of team ‘Wonder Woman’ had yet to move from their previous spots at home plate and waited for the others to get into position.
     “Keep an eye on Emmett, alright,” Edward spoke into Bella’s ear with a smile.
     Emmett frowned, “Hey, we’re on the same team!”
     His fist slammed into his gloved left hand, clearly itching for the game to start.
     “That doesn’t change your track record.” Edward retorted after flashing over to second base as Carlisle jogged to first.
     With the baseball gripped tightly in her right hand, A.J. swung her arm toward Jasper at home plate, who was also preparing.
     “Careful, Eddie,” A.J. warned, “Might start ta’ think you're a snitch.”
     Edward chortled, “How can one be a snitch in baseball?”
     A.J. craned her neck to look at him, “Uh, I don’t know, mind reader.” she squinted suspiciously at him.
     Emmett glanced between before a look of realization spread across his pallid face.
      “Ohhh, yeah, I see what you’re gettin’ at, Aje,” Emmett smirked while eyeing Edward, “You’re gonna listen to our team's thoughts and then sabotage us.”
     Edward paused and blinked, words escaping him. One weakness he would never admit, even if he was being tortured, is the effect Emmett and A.J. have to completely and utterly bamboozle him. Once the shock of Emmett’s accusation wore off, Edward peeled his eyes open and met Bella’s brown ones. She held an amused expression, her eyes asking a question Edward couldn’t hear. He sent her a silent shrug as an answer whilst A.J. and Emmett continued their rant.
     “Alright,” Carlisle’s call silenced Emmett and A.J., “I’m sure Edward is not planning a betrayal, and even if he was-,”
     “Which I’m not.” Edward chimed in.
     “I know,” Carlisle spoke in his mind with an apologetic look, “Even if he was, I think we’d still manage to win. Even without Rose on our team.”
     A smug smile spread across Carlisle’s lips, as a chorus of ‘Oo’s’ blended with the breeze that blew his striped scarf.
     “Let’s go then,” A.J. spun on her heel to face home plate, “Jasper.” she nodded.
     Jasper nodded back, preparing his stance.
     “Angel.” he smiled at her, eyes filled with determination.
     In an instant, A.J. propelled her right arm forward. The ball flew from her hand and headed straight to Jasper. The bat he held swung out and away from his shoulder, his torso and legs twisting to enhance the force he hit with. With a loud crack of thunder, the ball collided with the bat and launched high into the sky. Unfortunately for Jasper, the ball headed into the air directly above A.J., who leaped up what seemed like five-hundred feet to Bella, and caught the ball with ease in her gloved hand. A.J. landed on her feet with a thud, sufficiently stopping Jasper from running just as he dropped the bat.
     Bella glanced up at Esme from her squatted position a little ways behind Jasper as laughs or winces echoed through the air. The speed at which the Cullens play made it difficult for her to decipher anything, let alone the baseball knowledge she lacked. She briefly wished she would’ve paid more attention to her step-father’s career now. Answering her silent question, Esme nodded to her with a grimace.
     “Out.” Bella called.
     “Oh-ho-ho, Mr. Whitlock,” A.J. called in a nasally British accent, “How it seems your strategy has grown weak.” her smile grew at the sound of Emmett’s snicker.
     Alice watched as her husband tracked back to join her and Rosalie on the sidelines, frown on his face but posture still perfect. Jasper handed her the bat as he passed her and continued until he was next to Rosalie.
     “It’s okay, Jazzy,” Alice cooed, “It was only your first bat.” she gave him an assuring smile as she approached the plate.
     A.J. grinned at Alice as the older vampire settled into batting position. A strike of lightning in the distance lit the grey sky and was quickly followed by a deafening crack of thunder. Bella jumped in her skin at the unexpected volume which only heightened her stress levels. Having noticed the jump, Esme raised a hand that had been resting on her knee and placed it on Bella’s padded shoulder. She gave the girl a squeeze and a gentle smile as Bella craned her neck to meet Esme’s gaze.
     “Hey, batta’-batta’, hey, batta’-batta’, swang~,” A.J. mimicked exuberantly swinging an imaginary bat.
    A smile spread onto Alice’s face upon hearing the song, “I got ta just do my thang~.” she happily sang back.
     “Enough singing,” Emmett yelled, “Get on with the game!” he eagerly threw his fist into his gloved hand.
     A.J. frowned as she twisted her head back, “Let us enjoy ourselves!”
     “Clearly someone can’t dance.” Alice smirked teasingly still in her batting stance.
     Emmett’s hands paused with an almost offended look on his face. Those spectating were either watching thoroughly entertained, or less than amused and wanting to continue with this close game.
     “Oh, I can dance,” Emmett answered nonchalantly, “Tell ‘em, babe.”
     Thunder cracked around them as all eyes zoned in on Rosalie, awaiting an answer.  A smile slowly grew on her diamond-like jaw as if a pleasant memory was filling her mind.
     “Oh, he can dance,” her declaration rewarded her a wink from her doting husband.
     A.J. stuck her tongue out, “Bleh,” she faked a gag as her torso rag-dolled.
     Esme chuckled at her reaction from her hunched-over position behind Bella.
      “Alright, ‘nough talk, let’s get back to the game.” Esme clapped her hands together right as it thundered.
     Carlisle nodded at his wife, “Impeccable timing.” he smiled at her.
     She quirked a short eyebrow up at him with a smirk, “Thank you.”
     Returning her attention back to the game, A.J. peered up at the sky as if she was waiting for something. Her eyes fluttered shut as she forcefully inhaled for an exaggerated amount of time. Bella furrowed her brows at A.J.’s action, briefly glancing up at Esme again.
     “She’s waiting for the thunder,” Esme answered without taking her eyes off the scene in front of her.
     “She technically don’t have to,” Jasper chimed in, “As long as we’re playing during a storm, we don’t have to wait for a ‘loud sound’.”
     A.J. lowered her head, “I like the dramatics. Sue me!”
     Before Bella could blink, the ball was flying at Alice. With another loud crack of both thunder and the bat and ball colliding, Alice dropped the bat and dashed toward first base. The ball flew past A.J.’s left side and headed to Emmett who immediately jumped into action. He shot into the air, left arm extended above him, with the ball directed at him. As Alice reached first base, the ball grazed the top of Emmett’s gloved hand and continued into the forest behind them.
     Edward darted back into the forest as Alice approached second base. His topaz eyes bounced rapidly around the trees and brush until he spotted the baseball. Edward then snatched the ball off the ground and threw it to Emmett through the trees, who was anticipating the throw. Emmett hurled his body to the left and roughly landed at third base when Alice stepped on it.
     A chorus of ‘whoos’ and hollers sounded from home plate as Alice bounced victoriously on third base. Emmett scoffed as he rolled onto his knees before hopping up while Edward came flashing back from the woods.
     “Lucky shot,” Emmett commented as he stood next to Alice.
     Alice looked up at him with a smug look, “That was pure skill, Emmett.”
     “Damn right it was,” Jasper called out with his arms crossed.
     The Cullens continued an epic game of baseball, one that was far too fast for the human eye to properly view. Bella struggled to see anything but the aftermath chatter and positions after the end of a run. Thankfully for her sake, Esme or another member of team ‘Wonder Woman’ was there to help her with the calls; disregarding Rosalie.
     The Cullens had made it to the third inning, in record time thanks to their enhanced abilities. Team ’MVP’ was currently three runs ahead of team ‘Wonder Woman’. Jasper had redeemed himself and hit a home run, Alice was currently at second base, Esme resided by Bella and awaited her turn, and Rosalie was currently up to bat. Team ‘MVP’ were positioned the same way as before and eager to continue.
     “You ready?” A.J. nodded at her sister as they both readied themselves.
     Rosalie crouched into position, “As ever.”
     A.J. drew back her right arm before swinging it forward and putting her weight on her front leg. The baseball flew toward Rosalie before another crack echoed through the field and throughout the surrounding forest. Rosalie dropped the bat, pushed off of home plate, and sprinted down the field. The baseball was heading between second and third base, where Edward and Emmett were positioned on either base.
     Alice sprinted past Edward and Emmett who were distracted by the fast-approaching ball. As the pixie-like vampire passed by third base and Rosalie reached first, Emmett and Edward jumped simultaneously with their arms outstretched and ready to catch the ball. Unfortunately, the duo collided with each other in a loud ‘thwack’ and the two members of team ‘Wonder Woman’ managed to reach home plate. The women secured two more runs for their team and caused a total wipeout for the opposite team that resulted in Edward and Emmett splayed out on the grass and the baseball deep in the forest.
     Alice skidded to stop a few feet away from home plate and Rosalie followed by sliding across the grass and onto home plate. Amidst the cheers of the successful team, Jasper ran to Alice and picked her up into a spinning hug; squeals of laughter leaving the victorious woman. With a grin, Esme extended her arm down to Rosalie who grabbed it with a smirk and hopped up.
     “That’s how we do it!” Esme high-fived Rosalie once she was standing.
     Bella nodded from her squatted position, “Yeah, that was a good play.”
     Rosalie glared down at the girl, “You couldn’t even see it.” she spat.
     Esme’s smile turned to a frown, “Rose.” she warned.
     “What? It’s true.” Rosalie defended.
     “Well, I mean, she’s right,” Bella said, “I-I couldn’t see it, but-,”
     “Alright, how ‘bout we turn our attention to the real issue ‘ere,” A.J. interrupted the three, “Which is betrayal!”
     A.J. thrust her finger in the direction of a chuckling Emmett and Edward who had just stood up.
     Edward, having already heard what she was about to say, ceased his laughter.
     “A.J., are you really pushing this?” Edward groaned.
     A.J. fought back a smile, “Oh, yes, indeed I am pushin’ this, traitor!”
     Emmett stared at Edward, “Oh, yeah. It is a bit strange that the mind reader Edward didn’t read in my mind that I was gonna jump for the ball.” a smirk spread across his short jaw.
     “Exactly!” A.J. eagerly agreed with a stomp, “He sabotaged us so the loser team would have a chance!”
     Rosalie crossed her arms, “I think we have a chance regardless of Edward’s treachery.”
     “I’m-I am not a traitor. I did not even think of reading anyone’s mind, because I was focused on the game.” Edward let out a flabbergasted laugh.
     Emmett adjusted his stance and crossed his arms.
     “Exactly what a traitor would say,” Emmett stated.
     Edward’s tongue darted across his pristine white teeth as he grinned in annoyance, “I think the only one you should be accusing of ’treachery’ is Alice.”
     A smirk spread across Edward’s lips at his words.
     “What!” Alice’s hands fell onto her hips.
     Her eyebrows knitted together underneath her navy blue cap at the sudden accusation. A crack of thunder sounded around them as if Alice herself conjured it up with her voice. The babbling duo, Emmett and A.J., observed Alice before staring at Edward and then meeting each other’s gaze. Skeptical looks were painted upon their pale faces as the wind picked up around them. The rest of the Cullens and Bella were left awaiting their next move, wondering if Edward’s distraction worked or not.
     The accusing pair busted out in chuckles and giggles, ripping Edward’s hopeful look off of his face.
     Emmett turned his head to a dejected Edward.
     “Alice wouldn’t have the time to see our moves,” Emmett stated matter-of-factly.
     A.J. nodded, “Yeah, plus, she ain’t on our team.”
     Emmett and A.J. smirked at each other as if they just deduced the most abstruse mystery in history. A snort could be heard coming from Hale ‘twins’ by home plate, though that did nothing to deter the growing confidence of A.J. and Emmett.
     Edward chuckled out in confusion, eyes darting around those who stood throughout the field. His mouth opened and closed, struggling between the option of a logical defense or leaving the whole ordeal to rest. Staying silent seemed like the best option, considering logic fell upon deaf ears when it came to Emmett and A.J., but ultimately Edward decided to play the ‘call on the parent’ card.
     “Carlisle,” Edward pleaded to the man who was standing near first base.
     Edward motioned to his ‘attackers’, hoping the wise man’s words would bring some sense to the situation. Carlisle looked upon his son with tight lips and one hand over the other resting in front of his body. A glint of amusement shone in Carlisle’s golden eyes from the scene he silently observed, much to Edward’s dismay.
     “Emmett, A.J.,” Carlisle spoke, “Edward isn’t a traitor-,”
     The wind picked up around them and quieted Carlisle as a fog emerged from the enclosing forest. A gasp fell from Alice’s lips while her arms fell from her hips to her sides. Her eyes had seemingly glazed over, hinting at the vision she was having. As if in slow motion, Edward stared at her before peering over at the forest behind them just as Alice’s vision ended. The rest of the Olympic Coven’s eyes turned toward the forest, whether it be from their own acute hearing or sensing the seriousness of Alice’s vision.
     “Stop!” Alice yelled desperately as it thundered around them.
     Edward was across the field and next to Bella at a moment's notice, the rest similarly hustling about. With her eyes still peering past the bare trees, A.J. felt an arm grip her left bicep tightly. Her eyes flicked over to see Emmett pulling her toward the rest of their family, Carlisle on her other side. Their eyes held a look of worry as they flashed over together.
     A.J. flickered her gaze between them as they joined the rest at home plate, to which Edward was pulling Bella toward the Jeep as Alice spoke quickly. A.J. stared at her family with knitted brows, clearly missing a vital piece of information, though she heard words of getting Bella out of here and nomadic vampires hearing their baseball game.
    “Nomad vampires?”
     Panic fell upon A.J., concentrated in her chest, as memories filled her mind. She swore she could feel teeth tearing into her skin again, the excruciatingly slow loss of blood, her vision blurring, the taste of iron mixed with mud cutting off her breathing; choking her as water filled her lungs. Squeezing her eyes shut,  A.J. attempted to combat the rising terror with logical thoughts.
     “I’m a vampire now too.”
     “They can’t hurt me.”
     “I ain’t food anymore.”
     “They might be vegans like us.”
     “No, they ain’t. They’re the ‘predator’ on the news.”
     Unfortunately for her, the thoughts weren’t anything but a mere hindrance, to what she knew was illogical fear.
     “It is illogical, right?” A.J. questioned herself amidst the chaos growing around her and the sudden absence of music.
     Before she could freak herself out more, a wave of peace washed over her and drowned out the fear in her chest. A moment after, two hands came to rest on her shoulders, which she deduced to be Jasper’s as everyone else was in her line of sight.
     Her head snapped up, the bottom of her messy braided pigtails bouncing with the movement. A.J. was met with an assuring smile from Jasper, who squeezed her strong shoulders.
     “Everythang’s gonna be alright.” Jasper reassured her as he guided her to stand in the back with Bella.
     A.J.’s pigtails bounced again as she nodded furiously, “Yeah, I know.”
     With another squeeze and a close-lipped smile, Jasper parted from his sister and hurried over to Emmett who stood waiting at the far right end of the line of vampires.
     “Get your hair down.” Edward ordered Bella with a pinched expression.
     Bella momentarily froze and stared at Edward with a bewildered look, before hesitantly pulling the hair tie from her mousy brown hair.
     Rosalie turned around with a scowl, “Like that’ll help, I can smell her from across the field.”
     With one last look, Rosalie turned back to face the oncoming threat with the others. Carlisle moved to stand tall in the front as everyone else gathered around. They formed a ‘wall’ in front of Bella, her being the obvious vulnerable human here, and A.J. as she had been pushed to the back by Jasper.
     “I shouldn’t have brought you here, I’m so sorry,” Edward shook his head as Bella pressed him for an answer, “Just be quiet and stand behind me.”
     Bella clung to Edward’s side as he stepped toward the others but stayed just behind them with Bella. The youngest Cullen moved to Bella’s other side, matching the body language of her family. Past the line her family created in front of the three, A.J.’s copper eyes fell upon three figures emerging from the woods.
     In the front, passing through the growing fog, was a dark-skinned man with long locks, an orange leather jacket atop his bare torso, and a pair of dark, lined pants. To his right, was a woman with curly ginger hair and a long fur shawl that blew in the wind as they tracked forward; a confident smirk carved into her alabaster skin added to her alluring appearance. Lastly, the most menacing of them all was a man who stood to the left of them; his blonde hair was pulled into a low ponytail that enhanced his dark, hooded eyes. The one characteristic that united them was the piercing ruby color of their eyes, which reminded A.J. of her own a couple of months ago.
     The young vampire hurriedly untucked her pinstripe jersey from her leggings all the while keeping her eyes trained ahead. With her enhanced speed, she threw open the buttons of her shirt, leaving her with just a baby blue tank top adorning her torso.
     “Here,” A.J. spoke to Bella, snapping the girl out of her frozen state.
     The human turned her head to face the newborn vampire and her eyes followed consecutively. Her gaze fell upon A.J.’s worried face as the taller of the two threw her jersey around Bella and placed it on her shoulders. Bella briefly unlatched herself from Edward for the jersey to encase her shoulders and arms.
     A.J. adjusted the jersey on Bella, “It’s not much, but I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t wash it last time we played so it’s…oh shit.”
     A.J.’s ramblings were cut short as the trio of vampires was now standing still a few feet away from the group. With her enhanced hearing, she heard Bella’s heartbeat pick up next to her and prayed that the oncoming threat wouldn’t notice amidst the storm.
      The frontman raised his right hand in a fluid motion, and in it was the homerun ball Rosalie hit. His pristine teeth contrasted against his dark skin as he flashed an inviting smile. A.J. couldn’t help but appreciate his good looks despite the tense situation. His shorter stature and medium build were carried casually, in a way that let you know he was confident and felt no need to compensate. The exposed torso revealed by his unbuttoned green-tinted vest and jacket showcased his toned upper body. He was undeniably tantalizing and attractive, though A.J. supposed that’s what made him dangerous.
     “I believe this belongs to you,” The vampire remarked before flicking his wrist and sending the ball toward Carlisle.
     Carlisle caught it with ease, an unreadable expression on his face.
     “Thank you.” a friendly smile appeared on Carlisle’s face.
     A.J. shifted her weight before stepping over to stand next to Esme. Sensing her daughter moving next to her, Esme instinctively reached for the girl’s bicep before snaking her arm around A.J.’s. and pulling her close. Esme flicked her eyes to A.J.’s arm upon meeting bare skin, curious as to what happened to her jersey. In response, she received a simple smile and her daughter’s cold left hand on hers.
     “I am Laurant,” the stranger spoke again, “And this is Victoria and James.”
     A.J.’s gaze lingered on Victoria, her voluminous curls framing her soft features. Her presence intrigued the young vampire more and more as she studied her face and body language. It was almost feline, the way she moved, her minuscule movements were elegant and smooth. Once again, it was clear how her looks could be a weapon.
     James, however, did nothing but frighten A.J. Everything about the vampire screamed dangerous and to stay away. He, unlike his coven-mates, did possess the same alluring appearance or body language. The ways his eyes seemed to stare into your soul along with his tall stature reminded A.J. of the tales of Slender Man she’d heard some classmates talk about before she was turned. His weapon, without a doubt, was intimidation.
     “I’m Carlisle,” the Cullen patriarch gestured to the others standing beside him, “This is my family.”
     “I like your shawl,” A.J. spoke and nodded to the one draped around Victoria.
     Instantly, she felt all eyes on her and Esme pull her tighter to her side. The girl shrugged it off, thinking to herself that flattery is usually the best way to smooth things out.
     Victoria eyed A.J., taking in her appearance having paid more attention to everyone else.
     “Thank you,” Victoria smiled, “I like your top. It’s a good color on you.” her words seemingly rolled off of her tongue.
     A.J. returned the smile, “I know, right.” she let out a stiff chuckle.
     Flattery certainly worked for herself as her apprehensive mood lessened from the compliment.
     “Yes, well, I’m afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us.” Carlisle brought the attention back to him.
     Laurant’s dark eyebrows raised as his ruby eyes widen ever so slightly.
     “Our apologies,” he spoke earnestly, “We did not realize the territory had been claimed.”
     His apology seemed almost empathetic according to A.J.’s ears. Regardless of whether or not she had been swayed by his being, she almost took his apology to heart if it had not been for the guard she desperately held onto.
     Carlisle nodded, “We maintain a permanent residence nearby.”
     Laurant twisted his neck to face James who was peering past Carlisle and Esme at Edward. A.J. unconsciously hardened her eyes in anticipation of what the nomad may do, having a hard time relaxing in his menacing presence. She feared what he may attempt to do to her family and wondered just how capable his coven could be against the Cullens.
     “Really?” Laurant’s smooth voice held a tone of disbelief, “Well we won’t be a problem anymore. We were just passing through” His gaze returned to Carlisle.
    “The humans were tracking us, but we led them east,” Victoria announced, “You should be safe,” she spoke the last part in a hushed tone as she leaned her head forward for emphasis.
     Carlisle nodded, “Excellent.”
     A.J. caught the reluctant smile on her father’s face. It was one she’d seen him use on a woman who had struck up a conversation with him on one of A.J.’s earlier excursions to ease her back into society. She recalled the woman’s tone being rather flirty as she rang them up at the register.
     Laurant glanced around at the Cullens.
     “So,” he pressed, “Could you use three extra players?”
     One by one the Cullen’s eyes fell upon Carlisle, awaiting his response. His gaze never left Laurant as he silently considered the best option.
     Laurant smiled, “Oh, come on, just one game.”
     Carlisle let out a quick sigh before smiling, “Sure, why not. A few of us were leaving - you can take their place.”
      A.J. crane her neck to glance back at Edward and Bella. Edward’s hardened gaze seemed almost frightened as he glared ahead at James. The fear on his face didn’t come from a fear of his own well-being but Bella’s. A.J. knew that was the only thing on his mind, getting Bella away from here and keeping her safe.
     “Why didn’t you just flash her to the car? You had time.” A.J. thought to Edward who only briefly spared her a glance.
     Deciding to let it be, A.J.’s eyes moved to Bella who stood with her mouth slightly agape and still clung to Edward. The young vampire knew the human’s fear well and sympathized with her, especially since it was unknown how long Bella would be forced to endure this.
     “We’ll bat first.”
     A.J.’s turned around in time to see Carlisle toss the ball to Laurant, but Victoria flashed her pale hand up in time to catch it.
     “I’m the one with a wicked curve ball.” The smirk permanently edged into Victoria’s face grew wider.
     The atmosphere grew lighter at her remark as the Cullen's spirit slowly returned.
     “Oh, well I think we can handle that.” Jasper egged her on which earned a confident smirk from Emmett and A.J.
     Laurant sang out an ‘oh’ at the banter, body swaying with anticipation as he clapped.
     A.J. leaned her torso forward, “I’m a bit of’a star pitcher myself.” she eyed Victoria with a smile while Esme began to pull her toward the others as they retreated back.
     “We shall see,” Victoria spoke as both she and Laurant spun around to head down the field.
     Though his coven-mates were moving to prepare for the expected game, James stayed stationary with his animalistic gaze set on Edward and Bella. His head tilted to the side as he further inspected his ‘prey’, but Bella kept her gaze set on Edward. Her arm was wrapped around his as she waited for him to move though he stayed in an intimidation contest with James. Finally and with one last look, James turned on his heel and began to find his spot on the field. Bella let herself breathe as they were almost off the hook, but she relaxed too soon. Just as she and Edward began turning, the wind blew against their backs which pushed her scent straight toward James.
     James’s neck twisted as he inhaled deeply, eyes fluttering shut as he faced the couple again.
     He exhaled and smiled, “You brought a snack.”
     The predatory vampire lunged forward in a hunched manner, ready to pounce on his prey. Edward pushed Bella back and jumped to action as well, all but A.J. following suit, including James’s coven-mates. The young vampire swiped her jersey off of Bella’s shoulders and swiftly threw it on as she moved to stand in front of Bella. The girl’s copper eyes glared at the trio in front of them, her fear manifesting into courage. She and Bella suddenly stumbled back as Esme pushed A.J. farther away from danger. Perhaps that was where her courage came from; an unconscious understanding that her family wouldn’t allow any harm to come to her.
     “A human,” Laurant questioned as the tension grew.
    “The girl’s with us.” Carlisle stated with a calm voice, “I think it’s best if you leave.” his eyes stayed trained on James.
     Laurant nodded, “I can see the game is over. We’ll go now.” he held his palms open and facing the ground as he slowly backed away.
     Once again, James lingered, this time with Victoria by his side, who seemed eager to kill for him. Laurant glanced at James questioningly, his patience running thin for such antics.
     “James.” Laurant called out.
     With a growl and one last look, James’s posture straightened as he turned away from the Cullens. Victoria followed with a hiss and joined James to which they wrapped an arm around each other and stalked away. Laurant led them as he walked backward before gradually spinning around to walk straight.
     A.J. watched as Edward slowly raised from his hunched state, deep in thought…or what she assumed was James’s.
     “Get Bella out of here.” Carlisle ushered as he placed a hand on Edward’s shoulder, “Go.”
     The eldest Cullen then pushed Edward back toward where Bella and A.J. resided. A.J. quickly flashed to the side and gave her brother an encouraging smile to which she received a nod. As Edward rushed Bella to the jeep, the Cullens quickly gathered what they had come here  with.
      “W-wait, what ‘appens now?” A.J. asked as Carlisle wrapped an arm around her shoulder and placed his right hand protectively on her other.
     “We go home.” Carlisle answered and began to lead her away in the direction of home.
     A.J. stared at him as the others caught up with them, “Then what?”
     Carlisle looked down and gave his daughter a close-lipped smile as Esme flashed to her other side.
     “Let’s just get home first.” he told her.
     A.J. nodded and turned her gaze forward before stopping dead in her tracks and craning her neck to look around Carlisle.
     “Wait, my stuff!” she called out.
     “Don’t worry, we got it.” Rosalie answered as she slugged A.J.’s backpack around her shoulders and Emmett cradled the girl’s boom box.
     A.J. nodded again, “Thank you.” she let her gaze fall forward.
     The girl bit her tongue in anticipation of what was going to happen. The courage she had gained left her once she heard the wheels of the silver Jeep skid away in the mud. Dread replaced it as the primary emotion in most of the vampires present. Her thoughts were far too jumbled and rapid for her to calm herself down as Carlisle began to pick up speed. One thing that remained clear in her mind as she started to run, was her family staying safe. Though, she had no clue how she'd do it.
Friendship Bracelets - Paul Lahote x Reader
Hearing the engine of the rusty orange truck cut caused you to stir from your place on the couch. Your homework was sprawled all across the living room, the static of the TV crackling as it was in between channels.
You were slightly annoyed that your sister was home cause that meant that her beau was in tow and you'd have to witness the awkward love the two of them shared.
“Bella why don't you just listen to me”, your sister's boyfriend argued. Great, they were having their hourly argument. These happened so often because your sister was one of the most stubborn people you've ever met.
“Edward drop it. I'm doing it and you can't tell me otherwise”, your sister shot back.
“Bella I said no”, he downright yelled.
They crashed into the kitchen and you could see how they were both physically angry and neither wanted to back down from their standpoint of whatever the hell they were talking about.
“You don't get to make my decisions for me”, Bella screamed.
“It's not safe for you to go alone Bella, and I obviously can't go”, Edward yelled.,
By now you were leaning against the doorframe observing the lovers quarrel, holding back laughter. You had to watch them go through this every day, except this time Edward seemed to be holding his ground even more, so it had to be serious. Normally he just gave in to your quarrelsome sister but not this time.
Bella looked around completely baffled that somebody wasn't just giving her the green light to do whatever she wanted to do. As she looked around exasperated she spotted you listening in on the conversation and her eyes sparkled.
“I won't go alone”, she proudly declared.
“Hmm”, Edward hummed in question.
“Y/N’s going with me”, Bella stated.
“Absolutely not, I’m not letting you drag me into this”, you yelled suddenly less amused.
“Bella just dropped it”, Edward stated clearly not enthused by Bella’s response.
“Y/N just do this for me please”, Bella pleaded.
She looked up at you with pleading eyes. Clearly, this was important to her. And no matter how much she pissed you off, you enjoy pissing Edward off even more.
“Yeah Eddy boy I guess I’m going with good ole Bells to…where the hell are we going Bella?”, you asked.
“La Push”
---------------------
The truck rattled down the gravel driveway as your sister drove you to the undisclosed location that apparently meant so much to her.
Pulling to a stop in front of a wooden cabin in the middle of the woods you couldn't help but admire its beauty. Though the house itself was worn down in front of it barrels full of flowers and homemade raised flower beds were littered around.
“Stay in the car”, your sister nonchalantly said.
“Umm no”, you argued back.
“I shouldn't be long, half an hour tops' ', was all she had to say.
“Bella, I'm not letting you leave me here for thirty minutes. I’m helping you out by coming with you. I agreed to go with you with whatever you were doing, not to stay in the car”, you retorted.
“Fine, just be careful and try to be quiet”, she sighed.
“Whatever weirdo”, you answered.
As the doors of the truck slammed shut and both of you hopped out the front door to the cabin two tanned-skinned boys came barreling out, both wanting to be the first to talk to Bella.
“Bella is that you”, one of the boys called out.
“Dude you know it's her don't be weird”, the other replied, shoving his friend nearly to the ground.
Bella just laughed and nodded for you to follow her, the both of you stopping right in front of the two shirtless boys.
“Who's the girl Bella?”, boy number one asked as he eyed you up and down, clearly suspicious.
“This is my younger sister, I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned her a few times, or at least Jacob has”, Bella answered.
“Umm I’m Y/N”, you said shyly, granting them a small wave. As much as you didn't want to be you were intimidated by the two boys, something about their presence, maybe it was the way they were standing was almost animalistic.
“Jared," the boy said.
“Quil”, the other spoke.
“Great, now that introductions are done, can we go in? I came to talk to Jacob and he said to meet him here”, Bella asked.
“Yeah, everyone’s inside we were just heading out to go run the perimeter…hey!”, Jared was cut off by a smack from Quil who looked at him as if he had three heads.
The strange cadence to their voices through you off and how quick Quill was to cut Jared off downright made you nervous, but you weren't going to say anything. You didn't want to be rude.
Bella mumbled for you to follow her, which you did. Trudging up the old wooden steps you glanced around your sister's body to glance through the small glass window next to the front door.
Inside around a large circular wooden table sat more tanned skin boys, all with their shirts off. They were laughing and shoving each other while eating what looked like pumpkin bread. You were able to recognize Jacob, even though he looked different from the last time you saw him. You could also see a girl, she had a large scar that covered a portion of her face and she was standing in the kitchen mixing a bowl of batter.
Without hesitation, Bella rapped her knuckles against the wooden door, clearly impatient that it didn't open within the first five seconds.
Still looking through the window you could see all the faces turn to look towards your direction. As quickly as you could you moved to hide behind your sister, embarrassed that you had been spotted.
“Bella it's good to see you”, the girl with the bowl of batter said as she opened the door, one of the shirtless boys protective watching from over her shoulder.
“You too Emily, Sam”, Bella added nodding to the guy standing behind the girl, who you now knew as Emily.
“And this must be your little sister, Y/N right”, Emily asked, her eyes shining bright.
“Yeah”, you breathed out still on edge.
“Well, it's nice to finally meet you Y/N. You, ladies, need to come inside, it's freezing out there”, Emily ushered, opening the door wider and pushing Sam out of the way. He gave you a half smile and a nod as if he could sense that you were nervous.
Bella barged in like she owned the place and went straight towards the table of boys, all of them amused at her presence not bothering to really give you a good look.
“Jacob”, she barked.
Jacob looked up from where he was sitting to roll his eyes at Bella's neediness. After they had a mini staring contest he looked beyond so he could see you. Sending you a cheesy grin he shot up and out of his seat. Rushing over to you and scooping you into his arms, spinning you around,
“Little Y/N. You’re all grown up”, he said laughing. After holding onto you for a few more seconds he let your feet return to the earth again before keeping you an arm's length away so he could get a good look at you.
Your back faced the dining room table and Jacob smiled as he saw truly how much you had grown up.
“It's been six or seven years. How long have you been back?”, he asked.
“Like three weeks. Been trying to get acclimated back to Forks after all these years”, you told him.
“Well, I’m glad you're back now, even though I am a little annoyed that Bella and Charlie have been keeping you all to themselves for these past few weeks. And before I go off to see whatever the hell it is your sister wants to drag me into, I'll introduce you to these idiots right here”, Jacob told you.
You turned around so you were facing the table. You could see a couple of the boys were now looking at you and the rest were semi-focused on the pumpkin bread they were eating.
“This here is Embry, Seth, Brady, and Collin. And you’ve already met Sam and Emily. And I assume Jared and Quil introduced themselves on their way out. All you are missing is Leah who is not here right now and Paul who should be here in a little bit”
You said hi to everyone and accepted the seat that Jacob offered you and a slice of pumpkin bread from Emily. After being assured by your sister and Jacob that they would be right back, you agreed to wait and hang out with your new friends, or people you hoped were going to be your new friends.
------------------
You had no idea how much time had passed since your sister and Jacob had been gone but you didn't really care.
This was the most amount of fun you had experienced in months. The boys had convinced you to play a card game with them once a girl, whom you were introduced to as Leah, came over. They had even got Sam to play with you guys and it was a total blast. Cards were flying everywhere every time one of the boys lost a hand. Emily had been watching from the kitchen giggling every time an insult was thrown at her fiance.
“God dammit. This game is so freaking stupid”, Embry exclaimed after he was the very apparent loser of the last round. As he slammed his cards against the table and everyone laughed at his tantrum the front door was pushed open and three more people entered laughing at their own conversation.
Looking to see what was going on you smiled at your sister and Jacob noticing that they had the third with them. You were pleased to see that Bella looked less agitated than she had before they left and Jacob looked intact.
“Oh hey Y/n that's Paul”, Seth said, nodding to the third person with your sister and Jacob after they started to make their way toward the dining room table. Turning your head to face the illusive Paul you were startled.
He stood there next to Jacob and when the two of you locked eyes you saw every ounce of oxygen leave his body all at once. He looked shocked and extremely pleased and scared all at once.
It was overwhelming and you had no idea what was happening. But you were smart enough to know that it was something.
Nobody said anything in the passing moments and there was so much tension in the room it began to get too hard to breathe. You looked between Paul, Jacob, and your sister, too afraid to speak. Your eyes begging them for an explanation. Jared opened his mouth as if he was going to say something but a hand clamped down on his shoulder shut him up before anything happened.
“Everyone out…NOW”, Sam growled. As lightning came and went, almost everyone was out of the house. All that was left was yourself, Sam, Paul, your sister, and Jacob. Emily didn't leave the house but she did excuse herself upstairs to go busy with something other than baking. “Paul”, Sam was the one to speak again.
You were still perched on the dining room chair, your hands holding your knees that were curled against you.
You watch as Sam gives the three left still standing a look causing Jacob to pull Bella towards the barstools that rested under the kitchen counter, and surprisingly she didn't put up a fight like she normally does.
That left Paul, having not moved an inch since whatever it was that happened between the two of you.
Sam moved towards Paul and he moved his hand onto Paul's shoulder giving him a nod and a slight push in your direction. Jacob then whispered something to Bella, which caused her to stand up from her barstool and throw her hands up, her mouth opening to have a freakout. But Jacob harshly shrugged her down and clamped a hand over her mouth so nothing could come out. You almost lost it over her defeated look, but you refrained since the situation seemed grave.
“Paul, would you rather do this alone?”Sam broke the silence.
“Umm yeah, why don't we head out back. I’m gonna send everyone in. But we’re gonna stay close just in case, um you know”, Paul stammered.
Paul moved towards the back door but backtracked so he was standing to the side of you. He held out his hand towards you. Every ounce of you was screaming internally telling you to not take it and run. But there was a small part of you, a point zero, zero one percent of you told you to trust him. And even though that percentage was so small the idea was echoed throughout.
So slowly you reached out, accepting his invitation and letting him softly pull you out of the chair. You could tell that once your hand was in his he relaxed. He found enough confidence to even twirl a bracelet you wore on your wrist so that he could get a better look at it.
Weaving through Emily’s house you looked over your shoulder and saw Jacob's mouth that you were going to be okay, and Bella was fuming but that was usual for her so you didn't think twice.
Paul opened up the back door for you letting you out first, but not letting go of your hand. The group that had once occupied the kitchen table was now kicking a soccer ball around and chatting. But the conversation stopped once Paul's steps squeaked the wooden floorboards of the porch.
Smirks were placed on their faces but were immediately wiped off once Paul literally growled at them, which sent shivers down your spine.
The soccer ball was quickly abandoned and they all rushed by and back into Emily’s house, but not before they could send a few teasing remarks toward Paul, which caused him to huff and puff a bit. But he quickly got over it once he looked towards you.
He pulled you towards a set of lawn furniture that looked like it had seen better days that rested on the wrap-around porch.
Once you sat down on the couch you once again pulled your legs against your chest. It was a mental way of creating a boundary between you and Paul that you weren't even doing consciously.
Once he was next to you his hands found yours yet again. You were somewhat calmed by the sudden warmth that he gave off.
“Y/I need to tell you something”, Paul finally said.
“Yeah I figured as such”, you said slightly laughing trying to bring humor in to break up the tension. Paul met your laughter as he twisted your bracelet around some more.
“So obviously something happened”, he drawled.
“Yeah”
“Do you want me to be blunt or sugarcoat it”, he asked.
“Be blunt”, you answered.
“OK well umm. There's no easy way to put this but you see well. My tribe, the Quileutes, we’re special. Some of us have a special gene that makes us different”
“You’re sugarcoating it”, you interrupted.
“I'm sorry, fine. The gene makes us shifters. We shift into wolves. I’m a werewolf”
“Be so for real right now”, you answered, absolutely breaking out into laughter. With your comment, you could hear a collection of howling laughter coming from in the house. Paul looked absolutely bewildered but regained his composure, a smirk of disbelief formed on his face as he shook his head.
“That's why I wanted to tell you the full story. I think it would have been a little more believable, then hey I’m a werewolf. But you’re the impatient one”, Paul said, raising his eyebrows.
“Ok, so wolf boy. How do I come into this mix?”, you questioned.
“That's the even more complicated part”
“Spill”
“Shifters have something called imprints. You’re mine”, he gulped at the last part as he looked at you for approval.
You wouldn't believe what you were hearing. This was insane. Not believing him at all and believing him fully at the same time.
You couldn't deny the connection that you felt with him, but werewolves don't exist. Or at least you didn't think that they did.
“Imprints are like soulmates. But they don't have to be romantic. It could just be me being your protector or a friend. Or something more. It's your ultimate choice in the matter”. Paul had a firm grip on your hand now like he needed to be touching some part of you at the moment. '`Do you have anything to say?”, he asked.
Inhaling as much air as your lungs could take in and letting it all out slowly you shifted yet again this time so you were fully in front of him. You wanted more time to think over everything that had just been thrown at you but part of you was terrified. If you asked for more time to think you would get in your head or worse let Bella get in your head. Since you were pretty positive that she knew everything that was going on based on her reactions earlier.
“Would a human imprint, would they feel the connection too?”
“Yeah. Umm not completely like a wolf but they do. You’ll feel drawn to me. Any emotions surrounding me will feel heightened. You can feel the connection”, Paul answered.
“Cool”, was all that you could manage to get out. This reaction made Paul heartily laugh and it made your heart warm to see him light up.
---------------
“So what's the deal with you and Bella? We met her about a year ago and she just mentioned that she had a sister and that was it. Why did you just now come out of the woodwork?”Paul asked. You were now leaning against his chest, snuggled into it appreciating the warmth he provided against the freezing winds that whipped through the forest Emily's house sat in.
“Well, I lived with my mom and stepdad for pretty much most of my life. My dad and mom got together pretty soon after Renee and he got divorced. That's why I'm only two years younger than Bella. A few months ago my stepdad found out he was sick and my mom wanted to move across the country so he could be treated at Boston Medical Center since they have a trial program he’s eligible for. Which I was all for because I love my step-dad and want him to get treated but it would have been too hard for me to go with him. So my mom called Charlie and asked if I could move back here”
“Damn I'm so sorry Y/N”, Paul softy said as he pulled you closer to him.
“It's fine. My mom sends me daily updates on him and I’m glad to be back here with Charlie. And really it's probably a good thing that Bella and I are around each other more. Really our entire lives the only time we’ve gotten to know each other is over the phone”, you assured him.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you as Paul hummed no melody in particular and continued to wrap your bracelet in circles slowly around your wrist. You watched as it turned left and right and Paul's eyes concentrated on it.
“I can make you one”, you said looking up to meet his eyes and giving him a sweet smile. He looked shocked for a second, almost embarrassed that you had caught him playing with it.
“I don't wanna have to make you do anything for me”, Paul stuttered, but he still did not drop your left wrist.
“Paul it would be no big deal. It's easy. I even have the colors left over. We could match”, You wiggled your eyebrows at the last point attempting to calm him down. Which worked. He laughed at your weirdness and pulled you tight to him again.
“The packs gonna give me such crap for wearing a pink and orange bracelet”, he whined pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Such it up Lahote, You're getting a matching friendship bracelet”
How they feel when they find out you're their Imprint Headcanon
Tumblr media
A/N: I was bored and now everyone has a Twilight Christmas gift!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Embry
Shocked but excited to have found his imprint (especially after seeing Sam and Emily), was not expecting it to be the town mean girl but when you two are together, your total sweetheart which throws off the guys except Paul (he's the same way)
Quil
Happy that's it someone he knows, even if you two haven't talked in a few years (he always knew you two were meant to be). The pack was happy when he finally quit his moping about how much he missed you and considered himself lucky to ask you out
Jared
Thrown off when it wasn't the one girl who showed an interest in him since freshman year but once he got to know you, he knew the fates never messed up and you two were meant to be together
Paul
Never wanted an imprint but when he heard you defending him and the pack, he knew you two were meant to be, kind of like the next generations Emily and Sam (Quil and Colin like to joke around and tell him when you're not around)
Jacob
Dude was downright flabbergasted when he imprinted a year after shifting and it wasn't on his favorite (person and human), Bella. Once he got to know you, he was happy he didn't end up with her (she comes with too much drama while you two are drama free)
Seth
Never admitted out loud but after watching Emily and Sam plus Jake and Renesme together, it really made him want to find his imprint and then he found you and he was so happy, everyone jokes and says he acted like an excited puppy
Leah
Never wanted an imprint especially after the whole thing with her cousin and ex but after almost dying because she denied the imprint and worked on getting to know you, she found herself wondering how she could ever be without you
Sam
Wasn't expecting to meet you so soon after he shifted and was introduced to the supernatural world (and came to believe in the legends he was told for so long), but thinks meeting you was a secret blessing because you can calm him
Brady
Didn't know what to expect after hearing brief details about imprints, but boy was he floored when he met you and then you asked him out, he nearly passed out on the spot (the pack doesn't let him forget about it)
Collin
Knew he was going to meet his imprint at some point but was not expecting it to happen while he was out getting groceries to replace what he and the pack had devoured from Emily's and then you wind up going to his alpha's place too, boy nearly lost his mind
hi everyone! this is my first ever twilight imagine (and the first fanfic i've written in like 5 years) and it's already looking like it will be somewhat of a series. would love to hear your feedback (good or bad) on this, or if you want a second part :)
------
ruderal pt. 1 | paul lahote x reader
word count: 1.1k | based off a random writing prompt generator
you never know who you’ll run into at a funeral - or, in this case, the reception.
the church gymnasium was full of Forks residents, gathered to celebrate the life of Deborah Lewin. she worked as a teacher in the town for 30 years, long enough to teach the kin of some of her first classes of students. so, it wasn’t a surprise that the echoey cinderblock room was nearly full of people.
you were seated at a table towards the middle of the space, sharing it with some of your friends who you’d had class with back when you had Mrs. Lewin as a teacher. you gazed out upon the sea of figures dressed in black, taking a mental inventory of all of the familiar faces in the room, when you spotted a face you didn’t expect to see entering the door.
“oh my god” you winced, averting your gaze and lowering your head immediately before you had the chance to be spotted.
“what?” your friend Ruby said, slightly panicked at your sudden, albeit quiet, outburst.
“Paul’s here.” you deadpanned, planning your escape as you spoke.
“Paul Lahote?” you hadn’t seen him in years, since he broke up with you over the phone for seemingly no reason on a random wednesday night.
“what other Paul could it be?” it came out harsher than you intended, but right now, you couldn’t seem to care that much.
of course, you looked up at the exact wrong time - Paul was looking at you from across the room. he stood in the food line next to Jacob Black, holding a ladle full of potato salad in one hand and a paper plate in the other.
before you could even really recognize that he was, in fact, staring at you, the two of you made direct eye contact. in the split second before you instinctually looked away, you could have sworn you saw Paul’s face twitch into the same shocked expression that you wore on your face as you watched him walk in the room just a few minutes ago. however, there seemed to be something more behind his eyes, too; you couldn’t tell if it was fear, or pain, or sorrow, but there was something else there.
“do you want to leave?” Ruby’s words snapped you out of your small trance.
“no, i’m not here for me. i’m here for Mrs. Lewin. Paul’s not important enough for me to need to leave.” your words were unconvincing, even to yourself. you’d never truly moved on, never forgiven Paul for what he had done. he couldn’t even explain why - he just kept repeating that it was “for your own good” and “you’d be better off without him.” it stung that he would be willing to throw away nearly a year of time spent together, and to not even dignify you with doing it in person?
“i think i’m going to step outside for a second. it’s really hot in here and this sweater is not helping.” you tugged at the collar of your thick turtleneck. it was normally one of your favorites, but the mixture of anxiety and embarrassment bringing your body temperature up was enough for you to want to rip it off of your body as soon as humanly possible.
Ruby nodded, eyeing you suspiciously but recognizing that asking any questions right now would be entirely unproductive. the redhead turned back to your other friends, starting to tell the story of when Tyler Jackson broke her arm under the slide in kindergarten.
the cold, damp air brought you back to a somewhat normal headspace as you stepped outside. it was times like these, standing under an awning, watching the rain fall on the trees and the parked cars in front of you, that you wished you smoked cigarettes. you bet that it would help calm your nerves even more; to distract you from the feelings that had been stirred up tonight.
but, you had none, so you opted to take deep breaths in and out instead. your eyes closed and you slid down the wall, planting yourself cross-legged on the concrete. after a few minutes of meditative breathing and counting the raindrops that dripped onto the shrubbery in front of you, you heard the old church door creak open.
“y/n?” a small, deep voice asked. you still had not looked up from the shrubs, but you knew that voice anywhere. this time, though, it sounded different. weaker.
“what do you want, Paul?” your tone was laced with annoyance. despite whatever feelings you had remaining for him, he was probably the last person you wanted to talk to right now.
“can i sit with you?” he asked, taking a small step forward. he waited for your gentle nod before awkwardly parking himself next to you, but not too close. you were grateful for the space that remained, already regretting your split-second decision to allow him to join you.
“now will you tell me what you want? why you’re even bothering to speak to me?”
“i miss you.” he sighed. you could see him rubbing his temples with his impressively large hand, eyes covered and a slight wince on his face as he waited for your reaction.
“you miss me? you fucking miss me? go to hell, Paul. you’re the one who ended things - over the fucking phone, might i add - not me. you have no right to come over here and act like you even deserve to be sitting next to me right now, let alone telling me you miss me.” you were on your feet now, trying and failing to keep your voice down as you watched Paul seem to recoil at your tone. you were still confused why he was acting like this; usually, nothing could crack his tough exterior, but here he was with his knees to his chest pushing himself against the church wall, not even making eye contact with you.
“now, if you’ll excuse me, i’m going back inside. this day is not about you, or me.”
“y/n, wait-“ Paul’s voice was cut off by the closing of the heavy church door.
you sighed as you walked back to your table, joining your friends once again.
“hey y/n, feeling better?” your friend Jordan asked. you smiled a smile that didn’t quite reach your eyes, nodding a little too fast. he didn’t seem to notice - they must not have seen Paul follow you outside. for that, you were grateful, in no mood to discuss whatever just happened.
synopsis: based on this request from  🧼 anon where seth does something small for reader and she realizes just how much she loves him and gives him the sloppiest head of both of their lives
warnings: oral (male receiving)
word count: 1.62k
you and seth had a fairly simple relationship. he was the most level headed person you knew and you could be quite a handful at times which led to you constantly feeling grateful beyond words for how patient and kind he always was with you.
you had just arrived back from emily’s, quietly stepping into your shared apartment with seth when you faintly smelled a citrus-like cleaning scent that seemed to be permeating throughout your apartment, “seth,” you called softly, setting your keys down on the little wood shelf you and seth shared at the entrance of your apartment.
kicking your shoes off, you headed over to the bedroom where you found your boyfriend folding the absurd amount of laundry you two had left piling up all week long. clearly, seth had paid attention when you first moved in together and mentioned how much you loathed laundry.
“pretty girl,” seth smiled when he heard your soft footsteps entering the bedroom, peeking over his shoulder for a moment to flash you a small smile before he was going back to folding one of your old sweatshirts.
you couldn’t help the wave of gratitude that washed over you mind, your heart and brain desperately working together to try and figure out a way to pay him back for all the times he’d done something big (although they seemed like small things to him) like this for you without even thinking twice about it.
pausing for a moment, you sucked in a breath before you were quickly stepping over to him just as he had set down the last piece of now clean and folded laundry. your hands were on him, sliding them up to grip his biceps and spin him around before he could even begin to process what you were doing, “‘s wrong?” seth asked, watching you with what could only be described as a worried expression crossing his features.
you shook your head, just sliding your hands down his bare chest until you found the band of his sweatpants, “jus’ need you,” you whispered and his features noticeably softened at your words. seth nodded, sliding his hands up your hips to begin to pull your shirt off, “not like that-” you murmured, sliding your determined hands down to meet his and pry them off your skin.
seth stayed silent, only watching as you tugged his sweatpants and boxers down before gently pushing him back until the backs of his knees met the bed and he slowly sank down until he was seated on the bed in front of you, “what are you-” seth started, his voice slowly fading off until it silenced as he watched you sink to your knees in front of him so you were now face to face with his cock.
“wanted to say thank you,” you whispered your explanation, looking up at him through your lashes which had his cock hardening. seth sucked in a breath, sliding his hands down his thighs until he reached out to thread his nimble fingers through your hair.
“for the laundry?” he asked, a breathy laugh following his words which had you cracking a smile, somehow even more turned on by the fact that he clearly didn’t think his actions were worthy of any thanks, let alone what was going to be the sloppiest blowjob of the man’s life.
you hummed, still peeking up at him with doe eyes that you knew would have him melting under you in a matter of moments, “for everything,” you responded, not waiting for him to pry any more information out of you before you were cupping his cock in your hand and diving down to suckle at the tip of his length.
thankfully, seth couldn’t seem to come up with any more questions about why you felt the need to give him a blowjob at 2 pm on a sunday, instead he just let out a low groan when he felt the way you swirled your tongue around the tip of his cock.
you were pumping the base of his cock with your hand, slowly dropping your head to take in the remained of his length until your lips met the soft skin of your hand, “fuck you feel so good-” seth whined, his fingers tightening in your hair.
slowly, you released your grip on his cock in favor of attempting to take all of him down your throat. seth’s breathing hitched when you sank your lips the rest of the way down his length, the tip of his cock bumping up against the back of your throat as your nose brushed up against his happy trail, “holy fuck-” seth groaned, a shaky breath leaving his lips as he mentally reminded himself to at least try and last a somewhat reasonable amount of time.
you could barely hide your body’s response to him, suddenly needing to squeeze your thighs even tighter together than you already were in a weak attempt to give your pussy some attention. once you were confident you wouldn’t be gagging around the poor boy, you slowly lifted your head, pausing to suckle at the head of his cock once more before you were diving back down.
seth’s quiet whimpers and heavy breaths filled the room, his grip on your hair tightening even further as he helped you set a slow and steady pace as you sucked his cock, “you feel like heaven pretty girl - you have no idea,” seth exhaled, the words barely leaving his lips before he let out another low groan when you swallowed around his cock, your throat constricting around the tip of him in all the right ways.
before he could cum right there, he was lifting your head up, allowing you both to catch your breaths for a moment. you were sucking in heavy lungfuls of air, your spit and seth’s precum now a mess on your lips and his cock, “holy shit-” seth groaned when he saw the mess you were making on his lap, “nevermind keep going-” he quickly decided, suddenly not caring how much more he lasted as he tugged your head back down so you were back to deepthroating the boy.
his grip on your hair tightened again as he tugged you up and down his length, setting a quicker pace this time as more and more precum began seeping out of his tip, the salty taste spreading over your tongue with each stroke, “taking my cock like such a good girl,” seth praised, dropping his head back to let out another groan when you licked up a stripe up the underside of his cock as he pulled your head back up before quickly sinking back down again.
your heart was pounding in your chest, both of you working overtime to help seth meet his much-needed release. his fingers were clenching around your hair as he set a faster pace, your combined fluids now trickling down his thighs as he got closer and closer to cumming.
you reached your hand up to cup his heavy balls in your hand, rolling them inbetween your fingers with just enough pressure that seth was immediately tugging you all the way down his cock so he could shoot his load down your throat. a slew of dirty praises fell from your imprinter’s lips as he unloaded his cum in your mouth, holding your head all the way down so your nose was now buried in his happy trail to ensure you’d be swallowing every last drop of his release.
you were sucking in deep breaths through your nose, slowing your fingers’ movements on his balls as you began swallowing as much of his release as you could. once seth was sure he’d finished filling you up, he began to soften his grip on your hair and soothingly scratch at your scalp as he allowed you to lift your head up and off his now softening cock.
you licked the salty taste of your mixed fluids off your lips as you peeked up at him, eyes watery from how deep he had been buried in you, “i didn’t hurt you did i?” seth asked breathlessly, untangling his fingers from your hair so he could hook his hands under your arms and lift you up and into his lap.
letting out a soft laugh, you shook your head, absolutely loving the way he always managed to be concerned about you, “didn’t hurt me,” you reassured, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to his lips which he gladly returned, sliding his hands down to rest on your hips as he pulled you closer to him.
when he finally allowed you to part from his lips, he murmured a quiet “thank you,” before gently kneading at your hips. you let a soft giggle escape your lips, sliding your hands up his chest to wrap around his neck and thread your fingers through his hair.
“thank you,” you whispered, “i love you,” you added, both of you smiling as seth allowed your words to sink in for a moment before responding.
“i love you too pretty girl,” he murmured, pressing one more slow kiss to your lips before he was parting, “you okay with me finishing up the laundry and then we can keep going? i think we’re gonna need the whole bed for what i’m thinking about doing to you,” he mused, a playful glimmer in his eyes that had you giggling and nodding.
Seth Clearwater x Reader: Encouraging
Word Count: 386 Warnings/Notes: Mentions of a fight (Seth defending his sister’s honor), established relationship, face nuzzling, fluff Summary: The Reader is visiting Emily, helping her out in the kitchen when they hear the pack(s) approach. An unnamed pack member made a not-so-nice comment to Leah, resulting in Seth ‘throwing paws’ with them. The Reader praises Seth for defending his sister.
~~~~  ~~~~  ~~~~  ~~~~
   Emily’s house was one of the most welcoming and warmest places that you knew. Especially in Forks. Any social anxiety or nerves were non-existent even on your way over to her residence.    Presently, the timer on the oven began to sound off.    “Would you mind—?” Emily began, still finishing with a few dishes.    “No problem,” you smiled, quickly sliding into the kitchen area.    “Just put them there, please,” she indicated as you took the fresh hot muffins out of the oven.    “How often do you make snacks for the pack?” You asked, carefully placing each muffin on the cooling rack on the counter.    Emily laughed. “Do you really want to know?”    “I suppose not,” you laughed with her. “They are a hungry bunch.”    “Yes, they are.”
   There came a pause as laughter and voices reached your ears.    “Speaking of the boys,” she shook her head humorously.    “Did we accidentally summon them or did they hear us?” You asked in a hushed voice.    The sound of their approaching footsteps became more apparent as they closed in on the house. They slowed when they reached the porch steps. Jogging inside, it was then that you noticed just how chatty and a little winded some of them were.    “What happened?” Emily asked, seeing as Sam and Jacob had walked in with Seth and another boy trailing behind them.    “Seth threw paws ‘cause someone was talking trash to Leah,” Jared answered, taking a seat at the table.    “The nerve,” you gasped, dropping the oven mitts onto the counter.    Glancing at Leah as she leaned against the counter, she gave you a small smile. Her gaze went to her brother with a look of pride.    “Good job, Seth,” you nodded as he neared.    Seth’s face lit up. Practically bouncing the rest of the way to your side, the smile could not be wiped off of his face.    “You’re encouraging this?” Jacob asked, leaning on the far wall.    Wrapping your arm around Seth’s, you answered with great assurance. “Defending his sister? Yes.”    “I meant about the violence, but yeah, I guess,” Jacob mumbled.    A laugh bubbled out of you as Seth nuzzled his face to the side of yours. “This isn’t you trying to get a muffin first is it?”    “No, but it would be nice,” he smiled into your cheek.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, maybe consider reblogging?

A/N: I may make this into a three part series. THE PROPOSAL, THE WEDDING, THE HONEYMOON!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Everyone was invited to the wolfpack family gathering. It was being held in the woods, lights were plastered around the trees, and the dance floor was made of complete wood from the trees. Tables with pearly white clothes surrounded that oak dance floor, it was everything you could have imagined.
“Hey (Y/N)? Can you help me hang this lantern?” Seth asked, it was only you and him here for the time being. You were both assigned decoration duty, it was pretty exciting. Seth did most of the work. It didn’t click in your mind that you would be in the woods decoring. You were too blinded by the fact that you were about to experience this grand event.
You were wearing a simple white silk dress that stopped at your knees. Cute but fancy. You sat back and watched your boyfriend do all of the work. Being the gentleman he was he didn’t allow you to do anything but sit and watch. You didn’t mind,  nothing was more admirable than seeing his arms flex in his white button-down shirt. We’re not going to talk about how his quads look in the brown slacks.
“What do you want me to do?” You hummed softly.
Seth held the lantern to the tree, “Hold this right here while I go get the hammer.”
You switched places with him, he then jumped down and ran to the table where the tools were. You continued to hum to yourself softly, occasionally looking up at the moons and the stars. It was so beautiful out here, You genuinely loved the fact that we were under the moon.
“You’ve always told me you never believed in fairy tales which is a complete lie”I looked back to see Seth propped down on one knee. My mouth dropped along with the floating lantern. Instantly I could feel tears brimming my eyes.  “This, right now, what we’re experiencing is living proof of a fairy tale. I keep telling people how I fell in love with you but in reality, I didn’t, I walked into love with you. Each step of the way you were there with me holding my hand, not once have you ever thought about leaving me. I wouldn’t be as strong as I am if I didn’t have your love to help me. I’d choose you in this lifetime, the life after this and even if I can’t find you I’ll make sure I do. I choose you and only you. You’re my world, you’re my life, you’re my fresh breath of air. You’re my everything, (Y/N) (L/N). So (Y/N) (L/N), will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
I wiped the excessive tears from my face, “Seth Clearwater, Yes! I would love to marry you.”
Before he could stand I tackled him to the ground, I could hear the pure joy of laughter escaping from his lips. You both embraced one another as you cried into his chest.
“You have to get up so I can put a ring on it.” Seth laughed, he held out his hand helping you up to my feet. Smoothly the ring went on, it glistened in the night light. It was the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. Seth shoved his hands in his pocket, clearly, he was still nervous about proposing, “It looks better on your hand other than Jacobs.” You held my hand up in the sky in complete. You watched the tiny rainbows dance in the ring. It was more beautiful knowing that it came from the man of my dreams.
“Wait, so is there a family gathering or not?”
“Oh yeah, You guys can come out!” Seth shouted, Huh, Seth wrapped his arms around me from behind. He grinned into my neck as you watched your friends and family emerge from the woods. Everyone was smiling from ear to ear, you were pretty sure only the boys and Leach heard his speech but that didn’t matter. It was still beautiful.
“Our plan worked (Y/N)!” Sue walked up to you with her arms out, “You’re finally going to be my daughter!! Ehhhhh!” You both squealed as you embraced each other. Leah soon followed as she also embraced you as well. You all had a tiny family moment, Leah was expressing how proud she was of Seth and you couldn’t fight back my tears. She was watching her younger brother become a man, and you, his soon-to-be wife, knew it was emotional as well.
Everyone continued to approach you, with nothing but pure joy on everyone's faces. Live music started to play swiftly in the background. Everyone began to chat with one another as the party started to gear up. You placed your hands on your fiance's chest, his arms wrapped around your waist. “You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
He gently placed a kiss on your forehead, “I can say the same.” Seth pulled you in the direction of the lantern that you dropped. “I have one more surprise for you.” He dusted it off, “I know how much you would love for your grandmother to be here to experience this moment.” He handed you a lantern, on it was a picture of you and your grandmother, and on the other side was a picture of Seth and his dad. “It hurts knowing that they can’t be here tonight but they’ll always be here in spirit.”
Seth pulled a lighter from his pocket and lit the candle that was placed in the middle. You held the lantern dearly to your chest as memories of your grandmother flashed in the back of your head. “You’re an amazing man Seth, she’d love you.” You whispered, you never took your eyes from the lantern, the picture illuminated in the night sky.
“Come on, let’s tell them about the great news.” Seth grabbed your hand, and he lifted it towards the sky higher and higher until the lantern floated in the air by itself. The both of you watched the lantern float into the night sky. He held you in his arms as you both watched the other lanterns join yours.

"Always Bella V"
Read here: Part One / Part Two / Part Three / Part IV / Part V
________________________________________________
Despite the anxious picking of my cuticles and the numbing feeling of my own heart beating within my chest, sitting next to Quil in the car brought me some sort of peace. The drive was only about 15 minutes, though it felt like a lifetime. A lifetime of blankly staring out the window, hoping to feel anything other than this deep sorrow.
I felt the heat radiate off of Quil's body from the driver's seat. Despite of how unsure I was of how it was possible for him to be so incredibly warm, I appreciated the warmth.
The screeching of my brakes let me know that we arrived to our little spot.
A spot we would hang out since we were kids. I looked out my window and gazed towards the shore, reminiscing of the times we had here together. The memories with Jacob, too.
The feeling of my soul ripped out was one that didn't leave for months. It was as if Jacob left with a piece of me that I couldn't get back.
...But then there was Quil.
It was as if Quil would never leave my side. And to be truthful, I never wanted him to. He was the only person who seemed to almost fill the void that ached throughout my chest every single day.
"Alright, let's go." He murmurs, snapping me out of my thoughts as he nods his head to the woods.
I swallow the breath stuck in the back of my throat and prepare myself for whatever this would be. Whatever this could be.
Quil walks over into the edge of the woods, nodding his head to encourage me out of the car to follow him.
The feeling of nausea came over me as it really hit me.
Why was everything so serious? So secretive? Nothing was ever this serious.
I sigh, unbuckle my seatbelt and make my way over to him. My legs shaking with every step I take.
He reached out his hand, motioning for me to take it.
I grab it, greedily embracing the heat his palm brings to my own.
The walk deeper into the woods was silent, aside from the crunching of leaves and small twigs on the ground.
His warmth radiated from his own hand onto my own, spreading up my wrist. His torso close to my left side as I walked only a mere inches from him, The absence of his warmth was violently apparent throughout the rest of my body.
Quil abruptly stopped and sat us down on a fallen tree, surrounded by countless others towering over us. Normally, I find our spot to be a place of solace, but today it was filled with an overwhelming sense of dread.
His brown soft brown eyes met mine as tears began to brim the surface. He quickly pursed his lips and looked down at his feet.
"You need to me tell you first, right?" He mutters.
"Yes." I choke out, voice barely above a whisper, slightly nodding my head.
"Alright." He breathes. "Well, Sam gave me the okay.
"So this is about Sam." I spit.
"No, it isn't. Please, (Y/N)... Just hear me out."
I look at him skeptically as I felt a slight sense of anger blossom within my chest. I became aware of my eyebrows slightly furrowing, displeased at the thought of Sam's name.
Quil began speaking. His words turned into this high pitched ringing. It was as if everything he said pierced my eardrums.
He finally stopped talking and
"So, basically-- the legends are real, right? That's what you're telling me?" I ask, raising my brow, with a snarky tone. "And so then not only do you guys turn into massive wolves that kill vampires? Because vampires are responsible for the missing people? They've been killing people? And the Cullens are vampires, but vegetarian?"
"When you say it like that, it sounds ridiculous." He chuckles.
"Because it is ridiculous! And you're telling me that there is this soul-bonding experience? Imprinting? Quil-- you absolutely need to tell me the truth!" I begin to angrily laugh.
"I am! (Y/N), I promise."
His eyes were pleading with mine, begging me to just believe him.
"Alright, so let's just say this is real. So, Jacob imprinted on me-- and rejected it? He doesn't want me?" My voice broke just saying it out loud.
He looked at my sympathetically, "It's a little more complicated than that, but yes. More or less." His lips pursed as he started at me with sad eyes.
"Is it... is it because of her?"
"Not necessarily. But, it she is definitely a reason." He sighs. "For one, yes he is in love with her. I know that he loves you, though. I know that..." He pauses, looking at the ground with disappointment.
My heart skipped a beat, hearing him tell me that Jake did love me. But then the realization hit me.
"But he loves her more." I croak.
His gaze meets back to mine before giving me a small nod.
And there it was, the knife right through my chest.
"But, truly don't think of it like that. He truly was devastated about the fact that his life has been paved for him-- he didn't want a life where he had no choice." His warm hand reached out to mine. "He can't stop feeling like some monster. He didn't choose to become a shifter and now his entire destiny has been chosen, he didn't want the same for you, either. He wanted you to have a say. He doesn't want you in this world of danger, nor did he want you to feel trapped with him."
"Oh my god, Quil!" I hiss. "Stop pretending the wolf thing is real! Stop messing with me."
"No, (Y/N). I promise. I can show you." He promises, looking me in the eye.
"So do it."
He stands up silently, letting go of my hand before removing his shirt. I notice how much buffer Quil had gotten in the last few months.
"My eyes are up here." He teases with a low laugh.
I blush as I realize I had been caught.
He double checks for something behind a bush about 15 feet from me before looking back into my eyes.
"Don't freak out." He looks at me. "Don't go anywhere, and remember I won't hurt you."
I nod, staring at him with doubt.
But Quil's body began to steam? I couldn't believe how it looked.
He began to almost convulse as he was seemingly ready to burst out of his own skin.
But then he did. He burst out of his own skin and turned into an enormous brown wolf.
"Qu-Quil?" I stutter, my eyes practically bulging out of my skull.
His enormous head nods, whimpering and looking directly into my eyes.
He slowly strode over to me, plopping his head down into my lap for me to feel his fur.
"What the fuck..." I mutter as he lets out a huff.
He pulls his head back, before turning and walking behind the bushes from earlier.
I heard shuffling and within a moment or two, shirtless Quil appears again and walks over to where he dropped his shirt before. He picks it up, putting it on before sitting right next to me.
"Alright." I breathe.
"Yeah. So, there's that." He sighs, looking at me.
"I see."
"Well, now you know it all."
"I guess I do."
I don't know how I was supposed to feel.
But I know I felt so confused. I felt some relief in knowing that Jacob did love me... that what I was feeling had a valid reason. It was abnormally painful because it wasn't normal-- it was supernatural.
But in the end, it didn't make me feel better. It didn't make anything hurt less.
I felt tears prick my eyes before I put my head into my hands. I don't think it was possible to cope with this any differently.
Quil quickly put his arm around me, pulling me into his side and kissing the top of my head.
A wave of comfort washed over to me.
"It's okay. I'm here for you, always." He whispers into my hair, lightly scratching my back. "Always."
Quil always knew how to make me feel better.
In-fact, he was the only person these days who could make me feel better.
"By the way, I don't want to read his letter."
"Thank you." I murmur as I bury my head further into his chest.
"Let's get you out of here. It's not safe." He urges, helping me up after a moment.
"Not safe?" I question.
"Well, the red-head has been coming around. We don't know what she wants but she's looking for something."
"Red-head?"
"Vampire. I gotta catch you up." He chuckles.
"Ah, got it." I say nervously, looking around.
"Don't worry. We chased her back to the Canadian boarder the other night. We probably won't see her for a few days. But the others are on patrol now."
I shake my head in disbelief as everything coming out of his mouth seems utterly ridiculous.
It felt unreal.
The car ride back to my house didn't take long, but even after our conversation I felt just as hollow as before.
He must've sensed my sadness, as he reached out a hand for me to grab.
I looked over, studying the way his knuckles lay on the center console.
I lightly grabbed his hand before leaning onto his arm, pulling it into my own and laying my head on his bicep as he drove.
His feverish skin felt heavenly on my seemingly ice-cold body, Quil was the only source of warmth for me anymore. I was suddenly realizing just how much I needed him.
"Thank you." I whisper, closing my eyes in comfort as I absorbed all of his warmth.
"Always." His hoarse voice barely audible.
The drive back to my house wasn't long, but with my eyes closed the entirety of it, it was as if I had lost all sense of time.
I was exhausted from everything I had learned today... from everything I saw.
We made our way over to the couch, yet again.
The letter fell out of my jacket pocket as I took it off, causing the pain in my chest to heighten. It felt as if the wind was knocked out of my as I saw a glimpse of the handwriting as it fell to the floor.
Quil's face turned into one of understanding as he realized where my focus had turned to.
I pick up the letter with tears in my eyes, clutching it to my chest and sitting on the couch.
Quil quickly followed, sitting next to me.
"Why am I not enough?" I sobbed.
"You are more than enough. You are everything, (Y/N)." He coos, taking the note from my hands and placing it on the coffee table in front of us. He pulled me into his chest before holding me close. One hand on my back and the other on the base of my neck, pulling my sobbing frame into his chest. "Don't you ever say that, you are enough."
"But why is it always Bella?" I choke.
"Believe me, it is not."
"But it is, it's always her! It's always Bella."
"(Y/N), you are everything. Jacob doesn't even understand what he's doing. Please, please do not let this destroy you." He pleads, his voice breaking as I feel tears of his own falling onto the top of my head. "I know it's hard with this bond, but you are so much stronger than you think. You are so much more than you think."
Quil leaned back and I followed suit, crying into his chest as he covered me with a blanket.
"Thank you." I sob, tears soaking his shirt.
"I will always be here for you. I will always be here to tell you how much you are loved, whenever you need it." He promises. "I'll always be here."
I nod, silently thanking him as I wrap my arms around him and accept the darkness of my closed eyes.
His fingers lightly ran up and down my back as he shushed my sobs, trying to soothe me further.
I felt myself drifting to sleep, accepting the comfort of Quil while mourning the loss of a life with Jacob in it.

Before we start, the regular bulletpoint facts to get out of the way:
•Jake and Bella are the same age (Bella still older) and Seth and A.J. are a year younger than them
•In this Twilight fanfic universe, vamps and wolves who were changed before they turned 18 continue to age until they reach 18 cause I said so (but for plot/character sake, let’s say, Jane and Alec still look young)
•Jasper served in the Union
•Proofread but not perfect
This is a Seth Clearwater x OC (?) Cullen story based off my friend who requested this slowburn fic, since there are almost no Seth fanfics (the disrespect😤🤚🏻). All chapters are named after Florence+the Machine songs cause me and my bestie love her stuff
Word Count: 7754
(also I'm better with dialogue so I apologize for my less-than-perfect description skillz…and I apologize for the two-month wait…)
Without further ado…Chapter Two of Shake It Out
___________
The first two months A.J. spent as a newborn were perhaps the worst two months of her entire life. It was bad enough she had been jumped by a ‘serial sucker’; but then waking up in a cabin where two strange, porcelain-like adults were watching over her, telling her things about being changed into some monstrosity previously thought to be nothing but a myth… yeah-that was the icing on her burnt cake.
—————————
Her ruby eyes peeled open, a dull yellow light illuminating the bedroom where she resided. The mattress A.J. was lying upon creaked as she shifted while her deep-set eyes adjusted to the lamplight on the bedstand next to her. A chilled breeze blew across her face from an old window to her right, not nearly as cold as her skin felt, but enough to let her know it was still around May.
After a few moments, once her eyes had adjusted to the abnormally bright light, she willed them to fully open.
“Shit!” she swore quietly.
A.J.’s eyes snapped shut after they involuntarily zoomed in on the log wall across from her bed. In a blink, she sat upright, cold hands rubbing her eyes in an attempt to soothe the strange feeling of enhanced sight. Her left hand dropped from where it was and went to grip the soft blanket that lay over her. Much to A.J.’s dismay, when she threw the blanket off, a loud tearing sound filled the quiet room as the blanket ripped apart.
“Shit,” she swore a second time while carefully sliding her right leg off of the blanket.
The blanket came off easily after A.J.’s leg no longer weighed it down, though it was now only held together by a thread. Her strong legs fell off the side of the bed, her bare feet resting on the floor. A sudden spike of fear dropped in her stomach as memories slowly filled her mind.
Volleyball.
A park.
Practicing.
A man… with red eyes.
Biting.
Pain.
Water.
Choking.
Nothing.
Nothing?
Had she died?
“No, I couldn’t have,” A.J. thought to herself, “Right?”
Just as she was about to inspect herself further, hushed voices caught her attention.
“We should give her a few minutes, give her some time to think.” the soft, male voice said.
“The poor thing is probably confused and scared, Carlisle.” a female voice replied.
A sigh escaped the man. “You’re right. I suppose it's best not to leave her unattended for too long.”
At that, A.J.’s eyes widen in fear. Her eyes scanned the room for anything that could be used as a weapon, deciding she wasn’t going down without a fight. Upon finding nothing outwardly weapon-like and the footsteps getting closer, A.J. snatched the blue bedside lamp up; causing the cord to be ripped from the socket.
The footsteps stopped in front of her door as she zipped against the wall perpendicular to the door. Her body froze at the realization of how fast she had just moved. Fear rippled through her once again. The lamp lowered ever so slightly as she got lost in thought until the handle of the door turned and gradually creaked open.
A roar erupted from her hoarse throat as A.J. spun around the corner and pummeled the lamp at her… whatever they were… all she knew was that she was alone with possible murderers. Luckily for the intruding pair, the lamp flew through the door and into the wall behind it with a loud clatter.
Cautiously, Carlisle peeked his head in with a soft smile on his porcelain face.
“Hello, Angel,” he spoke to the rabid-looking girl, “Please, allow us to explain-,”
Before he could finish, however, A.J.’s fist collided with his face, sending him to the now broken floorboards. Esme’s topaz eyes widen at the scene before her, before kneeling in her green ensemble to help Carlisle up. A small nod of gratitude was sent Esme’s way as Carlisle allowed her to help him. His face cracked along the jaw and cheekbone, making him appear to A.J. as a broken statue… which certainly didn’t help his case.
On his way up, Carlisle grabbed the styrofoam cup that had fallen from his hands, “Well, I suppose Alice couldn’t warn us about everything.” he joked in the hope of lightening the atmosphere.
A.J. squared her body, ready to swing again at a moment's notice, should they decide to try anything.
“I don’t kn-,” A.J.’s voice abruptly stopped as she rasped out as much as it would allow her.
Her hand came to her throat as the dryness became more apparent, especially after the adrenaline-filled roar.
Carlisle and Esme stood to their full heights again, Carlisle’s face having smoothed back.
“Please,” Esme pleaded softly, “Sit, make yourself comfortable, and allow us to explain.”
A.J. hesitated, too frightened to relax in front of them-too confused to not find out what was happening to her. After a moment of contemplation and encouraging smiles from the two unnatural-looking adults, she slowly trailed to the side of the bed closest to a window, red eyes not daring to leave the couple.
Carlisle slowly approached her first, Esme trailing behind him, his hand outstretched toward A.J., holding the covered cup.
A strong aroma of fresh blood filled A.J.’s nostrils, awakening a deep yearning inside of her that she didn’t even know she had.
Carlisle had a knowing look on his face. “Here, please, take it. It’ll soothe your throat.” he shook the cup in his hand as if silently convincing her to take it.
A.J. glanced between him and the straw sticking out of the cup. Her nose twitched at the scent of it, disgust running through her, but the insatiable hunger proved valiant at that moment as she snatched the cup from his pale hand and eagerly drank it.
Esme slowly stepped to Carlisle’s side as they watched the young girl drain every last drop of animal blood from the cup, back hunched and eyes flickering around her surroundings like a wild animal devouring its freshly hunted prey. After less than a minute, A.J. lowered the cup from her bloody mouth, taking in an unnecessary breath. Leisurely, her red teeth were licked by her even more red tongue as she glimpsed at the couple in the corner of her eyes.
One more gulp later, A.J. sat up straight and wiped the corners of her mouth with her thumb.
“What happened to me?”
———————————
8 days after Alice had her vision of A.J.’s attack by a nomadic vampire, Jasper was instructed to travel to the Denali coven in Alaska. While he was heading up there, Esme and Carlisle traveled down to Bastrop, Texas, and arrived the night of her attack where she was found bleeding and face down in the pond of the park.
After picking up the deceased girl, the strange group traveled to a spacious and secluded log cabin in southern Oklahoma. For two weeks they stayed there, A.J. waking up two days after until they decided it was safe to take a conscious A.J. across the country. When the time came around, Esme drove back to Forks while Carlisle and A.J. drove up to the Denali coven’s home, where Jasper was waiting.
—————————
Fresh footprints formed in the packed snow as Carlisle led A.J. toward the five Denalis and Jasper. The teenager's red eyes bore into each of them, still apprehensive about all of this. Though she had grown to trust Carlisle and Esme, at least, as much as one could in two weeks. A gust of wind came from beyond the Denali’s house, which was a few yards in front of her. Her short hair blew behind her as the wind passed by her and Carlisle. A wave of sadness fell upon A.J. as she noticed the chilled wind felt no different from her practically frozen skin.
While walking, a stoic man, with an inhumanly perfect posture that stood to the side of the Denalis, caught A.J.’s attention.
“What’s wrong with him?” she thought to herself as she studied his frowning face.
Failing to realize Carlisle had stopped walking, A.J. stumbled into him. As if on autopilot, A.J.’s strong left hand swung up and gripped Carlisle’s arm through the soft sweater he was wearing and kicked his legs out from under him, then swung her right arm around his neck. His knees dropped in the snow, as A.J. positioned him in a potentially deadly headlock, not realizing her actions until after it had been done.
Jasper immediately started forward as the Denali coven straightened themselves, not quite sure what was about to happen or what to do.
Carlisle forced a smile, despite his tire for this… reactive behavior and the snow wetting his fortunately worn-down jeans; which had been chosen as a precautionary for this exact situation.
“No-no, it’s alright,” Carlisle dismissed their worry, “This is something I hope you can help with,” he said towards the dark-haired man standing with the Denalis.
Jasper stopped in his tracks and watched along with the Denalis as A.J. released her grip with an apologetic look on her face. Sensing A.J.’s distress rapidly heightening, Jasper decided to send a wave of calm over the tall girl and watched as it gradually overcame her. Her posture relaxed, and her frown straightened out before confusion overtook her.
Speculating eyes from A.J. trailed over to Jasper as Carlisle took her hand to stand up. When Jasper’s topaz eyes met her alert red ones, he consciously relaxed his posture, forcing his shoulders to slouch and hands to rest by his side. Unfortunately for Jasper, his ‘relaxed’ stance only made A.J. more on edge due to its blatant, forced nature.
“I’m sorry,” she brought her eyes back to Carlisle while helping him up, “I really didn’t mean to-it-it just happened. I'm sorry.”
“Yes,” a man with short, dark hair, who A.J. assumed was Eleazar based on Carlisle’s description, stepped away from his coven.
He spoke again, “It seems you possess abnormally high agility, even for a newborn. Forgive me, I’m Eleazar and this is my wife, Carmen.” Eleazar outstretched his hand for a woman with pale, olive skin to join him.
A.J. watched closely as Carmen stepped forward with a warm smile that matched her husband’s, gracing her squared face.
Carlisle made eye contact with A.J. as he placed his hands on her shoulders, “This is Angel Dane-,”
“A.J.,” the apprehensive newborn corrected the elder vampire, “I go by A.J.”
“Right, forgive me.” Carlisle smiled apologetically at her.
The chilled air that blew around seem to be amplified by the tense atmosphere created by A.J. The eyes of so many people used to aid her volleyball or softball performance, but it felt different now...unnatural now. Though it was a minuscule crowd in comparison; with the five Denalis standing in front of their house ready to welcome her, Jasper standing off to the side with perfect posture, and Carlisle on his feet directly next to A.J.
“I’m Carmen,” A.J. hesitantly shook her hand, “It’s wonderful to meet you, A.J. I hope you’ll enjoy your stay with us.”
A.J. gave her a tight-lipped nod. “I hope so too.”
Jasper frowned once again at A.J.’s state, a knowing look in his eyes as his own memories flooded his head. Though he felt A.J.’s demeanor lighten, there was still that underlying feeling of fear encasing her. So, the tall, blonde man stepped the rest of the way to the others. His wavy hair bounced as he approached the guarded girl, his brown boots tucked under his dark jeans tracked in the fresh snow. He wore a pewter sweater over a white button-up with the collar peaking out, in spite of the fact he had no need to dress warmly.
Jasper paused in front of A.J. and took his left hand out while the other stayed put behind his back. “I’m Jasper.”
A.J. met his topaz eyes and shook his cold hand. A small smile was sent her way by Jasper as a wave of peace washed over her, much larger than last time.
A.J.’s thick, arched brows furrowed as she greeted him. “Cullen, right?”
“Technically Whitlock, technically Hale, but, yes, a Cullen,” Jasper answered with a teasing smirk.
The corners of A.J.’s mouth curved up ever so slightly at his remark, Jasper and Carlisle both noticing and were quite relieved at the sight.
During this small transaction; the last of three Denalis, who A.J. was told were Irina, Tanya, and Katrina-or Kate-as she was called, stepped forward to meet the other vampires.
The shortest one with curled hair introduced herself first, which A.J. guessed was Tanya.
“I’m Tanya-”
“Yes!” A.J. silently congratulated herself for that small victory.
“We’re happy to have you here.” Tanya shook A.J.’s cold hand.
“Happy to be here,” A.J. replied.
Tanya’s taller, wavy-haired sister introduced herself next-who A.J. guessed was Kate.
They both stuck their hand out, “I’m Irina-“
“Damn it.” A.J. cursed herself.
The last of the blondes stepped forward.
“Now this is Kate,” A.J. stated to herself, knowing for sure the other two weren’t.
“I’m Kate,” the woman smirked while shaking hands with A.J., “It’ll be fun helping learn to control your ability.”
A.J. snorted, “I don’t know. It’s kinda a pain in the ass.”
Eleazar smiled in amusement. “Yes, your ‘ballistic’-like scream will prove to be quite a challenge.”
Carlisle’s smile faltered before he fixed it. “Her what?”
—————————
So once the third month of her second life came around in August, the three Cullens traveled back to Forks, Washington, where A.J. would officially meet the rest of her newfound family.
Meeting the remaining four ‘children’ went much smoother than meeting Carlisle and Esme or the Denalis. Carlisle, in particular, was very thankful for this. The conversation flowed well. There was no awkward silence this time, at least on A.J.’s part, and no physical aggression if one disregards that small bit caused by Emmett.
—————————
A.J. sat down on the cotton-blend purple couch that resided in her new bedroom. As her eyes trailed around the room, she concluded that it would need some work before it would feel like her room. All the plain, white, and purple/blue decor wasn’t exactly her style; but she could see how Alice and Rosalie had tried their best to make it a room a teenage girl would like, despite how long it had been since they were mentally at such an age.
The newborn had just finished meeting the rest of the Cullens and was told to go make herself at home while they grabbed what few things of hers she was able to keep from her old life. She had good impressions of the rest of the Cullens, or her new siblings, as Alice had introduced them; though she did not like the major invasion of privacy ‘powers’ three of them had, but-hey-what are you going to do?
After a moment of taking in her surroundings, A.J. remembered Rosalie and Alice telling her they had stocked her closet with a few things for her to start with. She glanced down at her current attire, which happened to be an outfit she had smuggled from old belongings; a sky blue sleeveless turtle neck with a pair of low-waisted blue jeans and black combat boots over novelty socks, not that the socks could be seen.
A.J. leaned forward and stood up, a little faster than she had meant to, without her left knee creaking. A snort left her when she had momentarily forgotten about the ‘perfect body’ part of vampirism. She no longer had to worry about that bad knee of hers from a softball injury when she was 12.
For a brief moment, A.J. felt a small tremor of sadness in her chest upon realizing she wouldn’t feel any human characteristic like that again. She understood how most would jump at the opportunity to no longer have sore limbs, perfect skin, or not have to worry about ever being sick; but it was your imperfections that made you human, after all.
A creak made A.J. snap her head up at her open door in the far left corner of her room. Her eyes landed on a big, burly, smiling man with a small box of A.J.’s things… the only box of A.J.’s things. His dark, curly hair was cut short against his head which showcased his sharp features. A blue cotton t-shirt covered his torso and black jeans paired with converse on his bottom half. The chain attached to his belt loops jingled when he moved about and added an edgy flair to his ensemble.
“May I?” he asked to enter her room with a slight tilt of his head.
A.J. nodded, “Yeah, sure, I do kinda need that box.” a small teasing smile spread across her face.
“You better,” Emmett continued as he walked in, “‘Cause this thing is heavy.”
A.J. chuckled at his joke as he set the box down on the desk, a few feet in front of the door, in an exasperated manner.
Emmett turned back to her. “So, what was up with you staring longingly at your knee? I mean, it’s been a while since I was a newborn, but I don’t remember falling in love with my elbow.”
“I ain’t falling in love with my knee,” A.J.’s lips formed a straight line, contrary to her amusement.
“Ain't? Oh great, another Jasper!” Emmett groaned dramatically, clearly attempting to jab at his new sister.
A.J. squinted her eyes. “I thought you were from Tennessee? You telling me they don't say 'ain't' there?” she inquired, an eyebrow quirked up for effect.
“Oh, we do, trust me. At least when I lived there, don't think it’s changed much though.” Emmett scratched his head as he answered.
“Then what are you on my ass for?” A.J. sassed back as her voice slipped into a valley girl accent.
Emmett laughed, “All right, you got me,” he raised his arms in defeat, “Now what was with you falling in love with your knee?”
“I was reminiscing about an injury,” A.J. answered and shifted her weight to her right leg.
Emmett furrowed his brows and crossed his arms casually. “Reminiscing about an injury? Must’ve been a good one.”
A.J. grinned widely at the memory of it happening.
“Oh, it was,” she started as she turned to face Emmett completely, “A pitching machine sent a ninety-mile-per-hour softball flying at my knee when I was 12.”
Emmett winced. “Damn, sounds rough.”
A.J. nodded, “Damn straight-thing had me out of it for nearly a year. Worst year of my life-well-until now. No offense to y’all, just not exactly how I envisioned my life going.” she added quickly in fear of offending the people who were kind enough to give her a home.
“None taken.” Emmett shook it off, not personally knowing how frightening her current situation is, but going off context clues and Rosalie, was able to understand.
The two continued talking as Emmett gave her the ‘down low’ on everyone, much more dirt being dished in his than the one Carlisle gave-not that A.J. was complaining-on the contrary, she was thoroughly enjoying it. The whole conversation gave her a sense of normalcy. It felt real... raw, like she was in the presence of a normal, American family she had always dreamed of, and in a sense, she supposed she was.
“And, yeah, that’s Eddie for you.” Emmett finished his spiel as A.J. listened intently.
Her thick eyebrows shot up in a look of mirth. “Dang, you know, I did kinda get that vibe from him.”
Emmett snickered at her remark, “Hey, do you have a volleyball? You played, right?” he jumped to a different topic.
A.J.’s face immediately brightened, a look Emmett had not seen yet, but would soon be accustomed to.
“Yeah, it should be in my one box that contains everything I own,” A.J. answered with a hint of sarcasm, “Sorry when I say stuff like that. I swear I don't mean it in a rude way.”
Emmett shrugged her off as he opened the cardboard box and picked the volleyball off the top of her belongings.
“Emmett!” Carlisle’s voice called out to Emmett from downstairs.
Emmett ignored his adopted father. “Don’t worry, you’ll fit right in, Aje,” he spoke before spinning back to her, “Think fast!”
Dipping into his vampiric abilities, Emmett chucked the volleyball with one hand at the unprepared A.J. The newborn reacted fast, with the ball coming full force at her face, and caught it with her right hand. The force which it was sent and caught with caused her arm to roll back in a circular before the ball was flung back at Emmett with more force than he had thrown it with.
Just as Carlisle, Alice, and Rosalie had arrived in front of A.J.’s door, Emmett was sent into the white wall behind him, the wall cracking from the force of his weight.
“That’s… what we came up here for,” Carlisle explained.
A.J.’s eyes went wide as she rushed over to help him up. “Ah, geez, I'm sar’y! I ‘idn't mean to-it just-I did it again,” her accent grew thicker as she explained.
Emmett groaned as he stood up. “Damn, Aje, you’re one strong lil’ newborn.”
Rosalie strolled past Carlisle through the doorway to reach her husband and gripped his hand with hers. As she pulled him up, her opposite hand came to rest on his shoulder to steady him as he stood fully.
“A little too strong, I think,” A.J. spoke to herself with a grimace at the scene of the damage she caused.
Carlisle turned his head to her, a sympathetic smile on his face for his daughter.
Carlisle opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by Alice.
“Oh, don’t worry,” she floated passed Carlisle and held A.J.’s wrists with her dainty hands, “You master your powers in practically no time.” a bright smile was plastered on Alice’s face as she spoke.
At her reassuring words, and blind faith that Alice actually saw that happening, the corners of A.J.’s mouth quirked up.
“I hope so,” A.J. responded.
Alice glanced behind her back at Carlisle, who gave her a small appreciative nod for her actions.
In a blink, Jasper and Edward appeared behind Carlisle, both with mischievous smirks on their face.
“We heard a commotion,” Edward stated, peering around the door to see the large hole in the wall.
Jasper’s smirk seemed to grow at the sight of Rosalie rubbing Emmett’s ‘injured’ back.
“Did Emmett get his ass kicked,” he teased, glancing over at Alice spinning around next to A.J. to watch the brothers banter.
Emmett glared at him with his honey-gold eyes. “No, I didn’t get my ass handed to me. I was just caught off guard.”
Edward smiled, “So you got your ass kicked,” he chuckled.
“Alright,” Emmett gently pushed past Rosalie, who ‘playfully’ rolled her eyes at them, “Why don’t I show you two the force she threw that ball with?”
“Oh, please do,” Jasper egged on as Carlisle stood between the three men, “If yer’ even strong enough to do such a thang’.”
Emmett huffed as a grin spread across his face. “Oh, I think I’m-,”
“What happened?” Esme appeared behind the four men in the doorway.
Carlisle stepped to the side to let her in. “Just a small mishap. Nothing we can’t fix,” he answered as he wrapped a sleeve-covered arm around Esme’s waist.
Esme looked past Rosalie as she moved out of the way towards A.J. The large hole in the wall caused her to widen her eyes in shock, not quite expecting that to happen today. Her eyes trailed over to where the girls stood in front of the windows as she laid a hand on Carlisle’s chest.
“Well, I’m sure you wanted to choose a new color for your room anyway,” Esme smiled at A.J., “And I always enjoy a little renovating.”
——————————
About a month after some home renovation and gaining more control of A.J.’s abilities, all was going well in the Cullen coven. Emmett, Jasper, and Rosalie became her primary teachers for learning to control her enhanced agility, and the others tried their best to help with her ballistic scream. Unfortunately for the Cullens, Kate of the Denali coven was most equipped for teaching A.J. to gain control over her scream and had since taught her the most in A.J.’s short stay with the Denali’s. Though her scream was most difficult to learn to control, especially during board games where she was winning, her family was teaching her and she was still learning.
A.J. was enjoying her new life peacefully, as were the Cullens, until a letter Alice had a vision of was delivered on a Monday afternoon.
——————————
A.J. walked alongside Carlisle and Esme, practically squished between the two of them as they were led through the stone walls of the Volturi’s headquarters. The first night she had woken up after being transformed into a vampire, Carlisle and Esme had explained to her the Volturi, their ways, their laws, and their history, after explaining what had happened to her.
When the letter arrived at the Cullen’s house, she remembered Rosalie seeming the most distressed, though she couldn’t pry the reason out of her, only a short-
“The Volturi are powerful vampires. Follow their rules, and you’ll be fine, Angel.”
Everyone told her something similar to that; Carlisle, Eleazar, and Edward being the only exception. Late at night, after a heated game of Uno that ended in Edward winning and Emmett and A.J. claiming he cheated; Carlisle, A.J. and Edward ventured to Carlisle’s study where the patriarch of the Cullen’s thoroughly explained his history with the Volturi.
He spoke of venturing to Italy for his studies, where there he came across a group of vampires that, unlike the ones he met in the sewers, were refined and sophisticated. He explained how the Volturi invited him to stay with them, and which took up their offer for a few decades, before deciding to leave as a result of incompatible feeding styles.
Edward added his own knowledge and scarce personal experience with the Volturi after hearing A.J.’s silent questions. He described each of the leaders' abilities, if they possessed one, along with their higher-up guards. A.J. was warned to avoid angering the blonde co-leader, as it was ‘detrimental’ to her safety, and to only speak if they talk to her explicitly.
A.J. shook her head at the memories, grounding herself back in the present moment. The thought of ‘these dudes must be pompous assholes’ crossed her mind before she quickly drowned it with a Yellowcard song, in fear of someone sharing Edward's ability when she received a dark look from a passing vampire. She flashed an innocent smile like the one she used to in volleyball when a teammate would tell her to shut up after accidentally blowing their ear drum out when A.J. was simply trying to call out a foul play.
The four vampires finally came to a halt after the woman escorting them stopped in front of a large wooden door. The door by itself was intimidating to A.J., let alone the three powerful vampires who could decide to kill her in an instant, and not even Carlisle or Esme could stop them.
As the doors were pushed open, the first thing that caught A.J.’s eyes were the three pale men sitting adjacent to each other on black thrones garnished with gold trimming, which resided upon a short plateau. Their all-black attire and cream-colored marble walls only enhanced their luminescent skin, and their red eyes shined like garnets in the sun from the low lighting in the room. Guards lined the surrounding marble pillars of the room in various dark grey cloaks with perfect posture, almost as if they were daring A.J. or her parents to try something.
A.J. felt a soft, cold hand grip her equally cold right one. She looked over at the culprit and met eyes with Esme, who held an encouraging smile on her face. A.J. returned the smile, thankful for the mother she was finally blessed with.
The group continued walking as the tall, dark woman led them to stand a few feet away from the Volturi. The one with slicked-back black hair whose throne sat closest to them slowly grinned at the three Cullens as the woman left them. A.J. stared at him, quite uneasy from his strangely enthusiastic smile.
“Edward was right about his freaky grin,” A.J. thought to herself about Aro before quickly overpowering it with another thought.
“Ah, Carlisle,” Aro started while bringing his fingertips to rest against each other, “Yet another child joins your coven.”
The blonde vampire with a scowl on his face to Aro’s right spoke up, “The Cullens continue to grow an army to overthrow us,” he spat prematurely.
Aro flicked his stubby hand up. “Enough, Caius. They’ve done nothing wrong. At least, not yet.”
Carlisle smiled kindly at Aro and placed his right arm on A.J.’s back, “This is Angel Hale. She joined us four months ago, and I assure you, we would never think to attempt any sort of mutiny.”
A.J. turned her head from looking at Carlisle as he spoke, back to meet Aro’s cloudy eyes.
“I go by A.J., though,” she spoke, noticing the slight squeeze Esme gave her hand.
Aro’s grin leisurely fell, “Oh, what a shame. Angel is such a beautiful name.”
A.J. watched with apprehensive eyes as Aro gradually stood to his full height, which wasn’t much taller than herself. He ambled down the few stairs that separated him from the rest of the room, his back straight as his hair. Carlisle tenderly rubbed A.J.’s upper back before Esme pulled her to the side to give Aro room for his gift.
The Volturi leader stopped in front of Carlisle, standing on the last step above the Cullen patriarch; a subtle reminder of who holds the power here. A stout hand floated up and paused near Carlisle’s light blue button-up. Having previous experience with Aro’s ability, Carlisle promptly placed his left hand on top of his before Aro raised his opposite hand and encased Carlisle’s with his chalky hands.
A.J. observed the ordeal with much intrigue, her red eyes squinting ever so slightly. She watched as Aro grinned at Carlisle while he ‘experienced all the said man experiences’, based on Edward’s explanation, and confirmed that Carlisle was the one who turned A.J. After a moment, Aro retracted his hands, deciding he had seen enough and stepped toward the youngest Cullen.
Esme gave A.J.’s hand a squeeze before untangling it from A.J.’s but staying near her side; close enough to jump into action in case something were to go wrong, but far enough to be ‘respectful’ to Aro.
The girl’s eyes followed Esme’s form until Aro paused in front of her, looming over her with a smile and his hand outstretched. A.J. glanced at his hand and then back up to his eyes, remembering what Carlisle and Edward told her about his ability.
“Come now,” Aro encouraged, “There’s nothing to fear, Angel.”
A.J. internally cringed at him using her first name, realizing she had no power here. She silently shook her disgust off and lifted her right hand before gently placing it in Aro’s. In this moment, she was thankful for being ‘undead’ and not capable of producing sweat, in fear of palms being like pools; but then again, if she was still human, she wouldn't even be here.
Grinning excitedly, Aro placed his unused hand over hers, encasing her hand entirely. A.J. glimpsed over at Carlisle, who could only give her a reassuring smile and nod of his head, silently comforting her.
As Aro activated his gift, he saw the entirety of A.J.’s past; from her birth to her being abandoned by her birth parents at a young age, to her time in the foster care system, the time she tore her ACL, the night she was murdered, waking up and meeting Carlisle and Esme, learning to control her gifts, meeting her siblings and the Denali’s, all the way to today.
By the end of the ordeal, Aro was beaming madly. A giggle escaped his lips as he retracted his hands from A.J.’s and pressed his hands together in front of his chest.
“Such an intriguing newborn,” Aro vocalized. “She has not one, but two gifts.”
The man sitting on the throne to Aro’s left, Marcus, and Caius, both sat straighter.
Caius sprung up from his seat. “We can not allow the Cullens to possess such an asset… an advantage.”
A.J.’s red eyes widen in shock and disgust. The thought of ‘What did he mean by ‘possess’ flicked through her mind as Esme instinctively stepped back to A.J.’s side. Carlisle stepped back to A.J.’s side, as well, sharing the same fear as his wife, but still intending to remain civil.
Aro craned his head to face his presumptuous friend, clearly getting annoyed by his accusations.
“Caius, my friend, none of you even know what gifts she possesses,” Aro chastised him. “Perhaps she would be willing to display them.’
A.J. watched as Aro turned back to look at her with the same slimy grin spread across his onion skin-like face as before. A million thoughts raced through her head.
“Would they kill me?”
“Are they gonna kidnap me?”
“Am I gonna be forced to stay here?”
“I don't wanna leave my family!”
A.J. was snapped back to reality as Carlisle opened his mouth to speak. “We’re still teaching her to control her abilities. It may be unwise for everyone’s safety for her to use them.”
A.J. nodded furiously, silently attempting to convince them of the danger. Aro paid no mind to either’s heeding as he motioned for a clean-cut man with a physique similar to Emmett’s, only taller, to come forward from next to the entrance. An arrogant smirk was sketched on his rectangular face, chalky forehead covered by his tamed brunette hair. The grey coat he donned stayed formed to his torso as he sauntered over with purposeful steps. A rumble shook through A.J.'s chest as the man's, Felix, polished black boots pounded on the marble flooring in the process of approaching her from behind.
“Then this proves to be a perfect opportunity for her to learn from more capable teachers,” Aro explained while stepping back up to his throne and eventually perching himself upon it.
“Aro, with all due respect-,” Esme was cut off by Aro motioning for two guards to guide the heads of Cullen coven away.
A.J.’s posture slouched to a readying stance, not quite sure what was happening or what to anticipate. She watched in alarm as her adoptive parents were pulled to opposite sides of the plateau, as the surrounding vampires observed her like she was a rabid dog in a fighting ring.
“No harm will be done to her,” Aro attempted to soothe the worrisome Cullens. “That is… as long as her gifts prove as competent as I saw.”
Before Carlisle could convince the Volturi against this, the burly man from before, Felix, launched himself at the anticipating A.J. from behind. Just as quickly as he came forward, A.J. seized his arm while springing to the right. She twisted his arm back before Felix spun around to land a hit on A.J. Fortunately for herself, her body moved before her mind could think and swiftly dodged him. Hit after hit and grab after grab, Felix continued his assault on the agile newborn, but each time A.J. was one step ahead of him as she rapidly dodged whatever was thrown at her. With each swift dodge, Felix only grew more annoyed at the fact someone was more skilled than him, which all spectators could tell from the force of his strikes becoming heavier. Right now, all A.J. was focusing on was avoiding harming a Volturi member, hoping that if she evades him, Aro or one of his co-leaders would call Felix off of her. Though A.J.’s mind altered once she caught the looks on Esme and Carlisle’s faces; the panic and guilt on their faces caused a pang of guilt in A.J. She didn’t want to be the cause of pain in there in immortal lives.
A.J. wondered to herself, “Maybe if I take this douche down, they’ll let them go and I’ll just stay here.”
While leaping back to dodge, Felix slammed his fists onto her head, she realized how absurd her last thought was. Why would she ever want to join these people… or vampires? She finally has a family and she won’t give that up.
Deciding to finally end this, A.J. led Felix to where she would be cornered by him and the wall nearest the back exit. A smirk spread across Felix’s chalky lips as he expected to irrevocably take her down, so he reeled his left arm back and thrust his large hand toward her throat. A.J. heard both of her parents cry out as most in the room anticipated her death, right then and there, but if Jasper taught her anything, it was to ‘always keep ‘em guessing’. Just as Felix’s hand should’ve torn through her throat, the newborn ducked down and collided with Felix’s midsection. She tackled him to the floor, it cracking beneath them, and her hands flew up to wrap around his head; but before she could do anything else, Marcus spoke up.
“Enough of this, Aro,” Marcus meekly called out, “We have seen the power she possesses; let us move on.”
A.J. kept her hands on Felix’s head, staring him down, waiting to move until Aro ordered the dangerous vampire to stop.
Aro nodded and flicked his hands out, “Very well, Marcus; I am satisfied with what I have seen. I presume Caius is as well.”
A.J. stared at Felix for a second longer as a precautionary, only to watch as his eyes glinted and a soft smirk spread across his pallid face. Her hands instantly retracted from his brown hair and she flashed back to a standing position before offering him a hand to help him up. Felix took it and rose to his feet with the help of A.J. He shared one last look with her before plodding over to stand where he once was.
“For now,” Caius answered, “Though I’m not yet convinced she should reside with the Cullens.”
With another flick of Aro’s hand, Carlisle and Esme were released from the guards' grip. Esme, who was already next to A.J., immediately embraced her; the older woman’s dominant coming to caress the girl’s wavy hair in a motherly manner. The manner in which Esme treated A.J. was something she always longed for. The four foster parents she’d gone through before being turned were usually kind to her, but none seemed capable of supplying her with the parental needs she craved. That’s something all the Cullens, and even the Denalis, gave her, was love… a sense of belonging… like she was truly cared for.
“I assure you, Caius, we aim to live a peaceful life. Simply blend in with our surroundings.” Carlisle prompted, having already made his way back to stand tall in front of the three leaders.
Esme proceeded to guide A.J. to meet Carlisle in front of the plateau and sandwiched the young girl between them. Strong arms were glued around A.J. as she listened intently to Carlisle’s conversation with the Volturi patriarchs. Though she was very interested in being sure she wasn’t about to be murdered for a second time, A.J. couldn’t help the thoughts that drifted into her mind. Remembrance of a time when she only dreamed of traveling abroad hanging out with awesome friends, partying after epic softball games, eating authentic cuisine, and playing volleyball at the Olympic games… ironically enough. These definitely were not the circumstances she expected or hoped for; but, hey, at least she didn't die not leaving America… oh wait.
Her name being called snapped A.J. back to reality, the sight of Aro grinning expectantly at her creating the uneasy pit in her stomach again. A.J.’s eyes flitted between Aro and her parents, clearly missing a vital piece of information while previously deep in thought.
“Well,” Aro prompted with his almost translucent palms pressed together, “What do you say about displaying your second gift?”
A.J. squinted at that.
“What was this dude’s fascination with her? Kinda pervy,” she silently spoke.
Remembering she was being spectated, A.J. answered, “I don't really like using that… ability of mine. Still gainin’ control of it, ya know.”
Aro’s face dropped. “Yes, that is what your creator said.” he gradually stepped down the steps to lean into A.J.’s face.
The newborn instinctively tilted back and away from Aro’s uncomfortable proximity. She cursed her enhanced senses for being able to smell the stale aroma that wafted from his clothing. Aro paid no mind to A.J. body language and leered into her ever-changing eyes.
“I’m afraid if you do not willingly present your gift, we have ways of making you,” he spoke softly to her, though everyone in the room could still hear.
Esme and Carlisle immediately snapped their heads up to make eye contact with each other, fearful looks on their near-perfect faces. A.J. did not notice this interaction, as all she could focus on was the scent of fresh human blood coming from Aro’s mouth when he spoke to her. She felt sick for another reason than her adoptive parents; the delicious aroma filled her senses to the brim, and A.J. felt herself wanting to lose control. ‘A brief moment of weakness can ruin everything’, is what she had to remind herself as she allowed the goriest of thoughts to flood her scrambling mind. If she could throw up, she very well might have at that moment; whether, from nerves or repugnance, she didn't know.
“Aro,” Carlisle pleaded, “I ask you to please reconsider this. You have already seen her scream, and if it’s really necessary, perhaps we could travel back at some point in the future when she has better control.”
“Exactly as you said, Carlisle, my friend,” Aro strolled back up the steps to the left where a boy and a girl stood in ebony cloaks, “I have seen it, not witnessed it.”
The blonde newborn observed as Aro sent a look toward the compact girl whose honey-blonde hair was slicked back into a bun that showcased her soft features and contrasting red eyes. A child-like smile graced the girl’s lips while she stared innocently into A.J.’s confused gaze.
“Aro, please-,”
As soon as Esme’s grip left A.J.’s shoulders, the girl who looked to be a bit younger than A.J. uttered the word ‘pain’.
In an instant, A.J. was enveloped in a feeling she assumed was similar to being burned at the stake. What she thought was the most painful night of her life was instantly outranked, as what she was experiencing at this moment was exponentially more torturous than the night she had been attacked. In every crevice-every vein of hers was coated in hellfire; it seemed as though her bones were being gnawed and slowly torn apart bit by bit. She couldn't think of anything else other than the crippling pain she was experiencing as her knees collided with the cold stone floor.
Everyone around her was filled with anticipation or horror, the culprit of A.J.’s torture being filled with sadistic glee as she continued her assault on A.J. Groans, and choked shouts fell from A.J.’s mouth as her strong hands dug into the stone beneath her. The stone floor cracked as A.J.’s fingers penetrated it while her back stayed hunched over; it look as if she would snap in half if her body contorted anymore.
Just as Aro was going to instruct Jane to stop, A.J. gradually started to shout louder. Everyone around listened as her shouts turned into screams and within a few seconds, one prolonged scream. The scream that came from her quickly switched from loud to ear-piercing into shattering. The walls that encased them cracked in some places, and every vampire in the room instinctively covered their ears with their hands. The sadistic and determined Volturi girl stayed vigilant despite her and others' skin beginning to crack.
“Aro,” Carlisle shouted over A.J.’s ballistic scream, "Please, stop this.”
“Jane,” Aro screeched at the blonde girl.
Jane immediately ceased and as a result, so did A.J.’s screaming. Despite their disheveled appearance and cracked porcelain-like skin, Esme and Carlisle rushed to aid A.J. in regaining her strength.
A contrasting wide grin, as to everyone else’s face, appeared on Aro’s. He giggled excitedly and rose to his feet before scrambling over to where A.J. now stood with the support of the leaders of the Cullens.
“Magnifico,” he exclaimed, completely oblivious to A.J.’s tired appearance, “My dear sweet child, you must join us if you are willing.”
A.J.’s tired eyes trailed back up to him with a look that questioned his sanity.
“She won’t,” Marcus called out from behind Aro.
Aro ‘tsked’ his fellow coven member, “Now that is completely up to her; and regardless, rest assured that the nomad will pay for his crimes.”

"So domestic" - Paul Lahote x reader
Here's a sweet little blurb full of fluff I wrote last night before I went to sleep!
---------
Paul Lahote was madly in love with you.
It was clear as day.
Everyone could see it, people that you were just meeting for the first time and people that you had known your whole life.
The imprint bond wasn't the only reason for his infatuation with you.
Sure it was what originally drew him towards you, but every day since he has woken up more and more in love with you.
He spent his time finding new things to love about you.
The way that he looked at you oftentimes caused you to turn into a blushing mess. His hard exterior would melt away and his soft smile, which was reserved strictly for you would come out.
No smugness or cockiness. Only pure love and admiration.
Paul knew about your insecurities and tried his best to relieve them.
If he caught you staring for yourself too long in the mirror, gawking at a particular spot for too long he would come up behind you and distract you with his touch.
It was a simple gesture, and both of you knew that it was only a temporary fix to a lifelong problem. But it didn't matter, because Paul was going to be by your side for the rest of your natural life to provide the temporary fix that you needed.
--------------
Rolling over you were met with a cold, empty space on the other side of the bed. It wasn't necessarily ideal, but that meant you wouldn't be going to sleep alone tonight. Early morning patrol meant no late-night patrol.
Your motivation to get out of bed was nowhere to be found, normally Paul was the first one out of bed and pulled you with him. But this morning he wasn't here, so you took some time staring up at the skylight that was right above your bed.
It was your favorite part of Paul’s house, the skylights in almost every room upstairs and the beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows in the master.
The windows did not compare to the Cullen’s house by any means, but it was satisfactory. The bed was positioned to be under the skylight, it looked a little out of place when you walked in the room, but it didn't matter to either of you.
Because the nights spent together, tangled beneath the sheets being able to stare up and gaze at the stars before you closed your eyes each night was the recipe for a perfect night's sleep.
Eventually, you found the strength to get up, groaning as you sat up. Going through the motions of essentially waking the house up for the day. Making the bed and opening the blinds.
Putting the dishes away you couldn't help but laugh. This was so domestic of you. Having just graduated high school less than a year ago you were performing housewife duties.
You had a job, but it was just working with Emily at the small grocery store she and Sam owned. Everyone that you had gone to school with was off partying at college and waking up still drunk from the night before. But not you.
That had been your plan at first, freshman year you couldn't wait for that freedom that a high school diploma offered. But that childish dream didn't last long. Because the summer before your sophomore year after getting your first-ever job at the grocery stand on the reservation you met a certain someone who changed the course of your life.
So lost in your thoughts you don't notice the front door open and close and your boyfriend sneaks up behind you.
His unnaturally warm hands brought you back to reality and you almost purred at the sudden warmth.
“Sorry for leaving without telling you, I didn't want to wake you up, you looked so peaceful”, Paul reached around to pick up the glasses you had been drying off. He whisked around you, placing the cups on the shelf that he knew was just slightly out of your reach. The rest of the dishes were put away in silence, but it wasn't awkward, it was sweet.
You finished with your stack before Paul finished with his because he was taking the time to organize your cups because he thought they were in disarray.
That was something you loved about him.
Paul wanted everyone to believe that he was the definition of masculinity. That he didn't care about certain things that might have been viewed or associated with femininity at any point.
It was partially the way he was raised. He and his brothers were raised by a single father. The house he grew up in lacked a certain feminine touch a mother could provide.
So when Paul grew up and got his own house and eventually moved you in he was fascinated with how you kept the house.
It had taken some getting used to. Neither of you had ever lived with a partner before and it was Paul’s house that he had bought and insisted you move in with him the day you turned eighteen. It might have been his house but you felt like you had to house-train him.
After some time he figured out that you liked organization, something that had never been important to him.
So he took it upon himself to actively change his ways, eventually becoming overly insistent on the ways things were in the house.
You watched as he moved cups over slightly, making sure that they were all spaced apart to his definition of perfection.
This was a moment where you wish the rest of the pack was around, so they could see this side of Paul and not only the asshole-ish side of him that they normally got. But you would dare to bring it up to any of them, not even Emily for the sake of saving Paul the embarrassment.
Finally, he was done, a satisfied sigh left his lips, his hands on his hips as he looked happily at the dang cups.
The small chortled laugh that left your lips had Paul whipping around like a deer caught in headlights, which only had you laughing harder.
Paul crossed the kitchen coming right up to you, his arms finding their way around your waist again, only this time he hoisted you up spinning you around while he matched your laughter.
“ I love you so much Y/N”.
Once your feet were on solid ground you pulled him in for a sweet kiss, knowing that this was going to work Paul up since he loved when you initiated any kind of romance.
Before he could deepen it you slipped out of his hold laughing once again, but this time at his frustrated scoff.
“Tease”
“You love it when I tease you”
