His eyes are yellow and he is in an aggressive stance. end ID]
Elemental Serpentine AU Fangpyre venom post!
Fangpyre venom is capable of transforming any living thing by giving them serpentine-like characteristics, such as scales, fangs, claws, and a tail. Most of the victim's original physical traits are not lost, though some may be altered, such as their tongue becoming long and forked. Despite the presence of fangs, the victims do not develop their own venom.
The transformation usually occurs over a period of ~24 hours. While the transformation itself is not known to be painful, it can cause great emotional distress. A fully transformed victim may experience personality changes, often becoming less social and more timid, or even aggressive.
Other physical symptoms include difficulty regulating temperature (in previously warm-blooded victims), suppressed appetite, and depending on environment, brumation.
Even once the transformation is fully complete, it can be reversed by administering antivenom, though some physical changes may remain.

[image ID: A digital drawing of (from right to left) Edna, Jay, and Ed from Ninjago. They each have fangs and a forked tongue, which becomes dark at the tip. Edna is smiling, showing her sharp teeth. Jay is smiling with his eyes and mouth closed, sticking his tongue out. Ed is smiling open-mouthed. end ID]
EDIT: I've decided to change my AU so that the transformation can no longer be reversed once fully complete. Why? I wanted Snek Jay, that's why. I'm keeping the original post intact- mostly to avoid confusion from having two very similar versions of the same post floating around, and because while the above image is no longer canon to my AU, it is far too adorable to delete.

More Dragonic Weapons AU-
When they leave to go into their elemental forms, and in return the golden weapons return, they can get corrupted.
In their most basic forms, they are the elements. And what do the elements what to do? To be used, to create-destroy-and just like in Crystallized, corruption can happen by the worst of evil.
While it isn’t particularly easy to do so, it can be done. When their golden weapon is corrupted, their elemental form will also show said corruption. Their very essence will follow the commands of whoever holds the weapon, which is why they never truly went into weapon form, excluding the times they did so for Lloyd to wield them.
It’s why, in this AU, their weapon forms are kept with the serpentine. While the serpentine and the ninja weren’t on the best of terms for the longest time, their trust strengthened over the hundreds of years that they were alive for.
Scythe of Quakes (Cole) - Constrictai
Shurikens of Ice (Zane) - Hypnobrai
Sword of Fire (Kai) - Venomari
Nunchucks of Lightning (Jay) - Fangpyre
Each tribe received one of the golden weapons to safe-keep. While they can’t particularly use the weapons to their fullest capabilities, they are still able to harness the powers to keep the tribes (and therefore, the weapons) safe.
The generals of the tribes are the ones that are allowed by the ninja elementals to hold and use the weapons (again, not to their full capability). This isn’t a full proof plan, as even the neutral serpentine generals can become power hungry with being able to somewhat wield the weapons.

Hypnobrai!Jay AU
Soooo I was inspired by @zaptrap's Cole AUs post and now I'm going to rant about my Ninjago AU/rewrite ideas on Tumblr instead of my Miraculous rewrite ;)
I will link my reblog of their post too because why not
Also, I haven't actually watched the whole show. I watched some episodes here and there, as well as YouTube videos, and I learned a LOT from just being in the fandom. So if my info is inaccurate that's my bad sorry
In the show, when someone is bitten by a Fangpyre they turn into a Serpentine. The few people we see bitten in the show (Jay and his adoptive parents) are turned back before they become Serpentine completely, so it isn't really clear if the bitten turn into Fangpyre themselves (since they're based on vampires), or if they just turn into a kind of impure Serpentine, just ambiguous snake-people. The second would make it clear whether a certain Serpentine used to be human or not since the bitten would look a certain way, unique and different from other Serpentine.
In this AU, people bitten by a Fangpyre can turn into any species of Serpentine. It varies from person to person, partially influenced by someone's DNA and which way it leans. But, it also has a degree of chance to it, also influenced by DNA. For example, if Cole was bitten he would probably turn into a Constrictai because he would be the most genetically similar to them, but there is still a chance that he could turn into a different species, such as a Hypnobrai. However, they still retain some human traits, and so bitten Serpentine are considered 'impure' or 'hybrids' or something along those lines.
Jay is bitten by a Fangpyre while he and his brothers are fighting the Serpentine (because he doesn't stab his hand on a Fangpyre skeleton, that didn't make any sense. How did he do that, why did they have it, where did it come from, and how did it still have venom???? Also, unlocking their True Potential and Jay/Nya is going to go a little differently :3) and he starts turning into a Hypnobrai. He is very distraught and tries to hide it, but eventually everyone finds out and they manage to find/make a cure. But, it doesn't work perfectly, and Jay keeps some Serpentine/Hypnobrai traits. He hates it at first, but eventually comes to terms with it and accepts his new normal.
I haven't decided how much Serpentine juice he has afterwards. He could have slightly cold/green-ish skin, a few small scales here and there, slit pupils, eyes that are red-ish/turn red, fangs that give him a speech impediment (like a lisp) until he learns how to talk around them, subtly rolling the s when he speaks sometimes (usually unintentionally), etc.
What I definitely want him to have is the ability to subtly influence people when they look into his eyes (maybe his eyes turn red when he influences people).
I have so many ideas about Chen too, but this post is getting long so maybe later

Because I have near completely neglected the main stars of the show, and I'm bored with an itch to write something- I present to ye: The Ninja and Venobrai
How they would have met or get along with, before S7 events completely free to skip if ye want
Staring with Lloyd and Venobrai:
In a whole other Au where they were both kids, they would have gotten along greatly, given young Lloyd was so bent on releasing the said Serpentine, and Venobrai being a just as parent-less, straggler serpent the two would of been great friends, who could relate and sympathies with one another. All though Venobrai is more hesitant to go along with his childish villain acts.
Now with older Lloyd in general, he would be much more hesitant and unsure wither to trust her or not, given Serpentine are still not to greatly known for being peaceful beings. But eventually, they would be mere mutual historic ally when Misako is other wise busy.
-
Cole and Venobrai
Cole was the first to try and attack Venobrai given his more found hate for snakes, jumping to the idea of Venobrai merely pretending her innocent, assistant role under Dr. Saunders.
But when he was told about how Venobrai was in truth harmless, and innocent he immediately caved in regret from his actions and apologizing. As they later came to be good friends after realizing how they both enjoyed history, and sweets.
-
Kai and Venobrai
Like Lloyd, Kai with Venobrai would be mostly mutual with one another, at least until winter, when whenever the fire Ninja came over, Venobrai would immediately seek him out to stick to him for the rest of the duration to keep herself warm with his greatly heighten body heat. Occasionally playing with his spiked hair to make him whine and bother him.
-
Jay and Venobrai
Venobrai gets a kick out of Jay's humor, and such, as Dr. Saunders was humorous in his own way, the lightning Ninja definitely was a funny one to Venobrai. She also awed and adored the relationship he had with Nya, as thought they had their own vast differences at times they were still much adorable together.
And when he gets talking and designing prints for things, it definitely interested Venobrai, as she found it hard to believe such a man as goofy like Jay could put together such things.
-
Zane and Venobrai
Venobrai and Zane are a mutua factor as well, if not the most compared to Kai, and Lloyd. Zane confuses Venobrai a lot especially with most of his smart sounding words, not having many or great experiences with that like Zane, but they do respect one another regardless, Venobrai most fond of his saying how he was built to protect those who can not protect themselves. Joking how she could have used his assistance in her younger years.
-
Nya and Venobrai
The two girls are decent good friends, Venobrai being greatly impressed with how independent and tough Nya carried herself, before and after becoming the water Ninja, and her relationship with Jay. While Nya took a small fascination of how lady Serpentines were like, much still capable warriors and to how far Venobrai has learned of that human culture, other than Serpentine, as it was very obvious she didn't grow up like a normal hatchling. Much like Nya didn't grow up like a normal child. They got along quite well.
However after what had unraveled with Dr.Saunders, or Krux and his twin who later arrived, most of the teams trust with Venobrai had taken a bit of a drop, as they had a feeling she was no better than Krux, but that idea later was thrown out when they found her and explained it, placing back the original trust they had with the new serpent curator, as replacement.
Least that is what my Au is of anyway :3

Ninjago AU: Snake-ification
(A Long Post)
Snake-ification is a Ninjago AU where during Season 1 "Rise of the Snakes," a crazy Fangpyre scientist makes a prototype ray gun called the Snake-ification Gun, which turns anyone it hits into Serpentine.
After testing it out on rice farmers and other humans unfortunate enough to cross paths with him, the Fangpyre scientist gets permission from Pythor to test it out on the captured Ninja and Lloyd in the Underground Serpentine Fortress. The Snake-ification Gun works, turning the Ninja and Lloyd into Serpentine; it turns Cole into a Constrictai, Zane into a Hypnobrai, Kai into a Venomari, Jay into a Fangpyre, and Lloyd into a Anacondrai. The Serpentine scientist tells the Generals that for the moment, the current model of the Snake-ification Gun doesn't change them mentally (aka it doesn't make them automatically loyal to the Serpentine), which annoys Pythor. Luckily Garmadon comes with the Skulkin to save Lloyd and the Ninja, but in the process kill the Fangpyre scientist and destroy his prototype Snake-ification Gun, to which the scientist made blueprints for but never told anyone where they are.
Garmadon takes the Fangpyre Staff with him while he and the Ninja retreat back to the Destiny's Bounty, hoping that the Fangpyre anti-venom will turn the Ninja and Lloyd back into humans. Unfortunately, the anti-venom does nothing, meaning that Lloyd and the Ninjas' transformation is irreversible. Luckily for them, Nya and Wu are supportive of Lloyd and the Ninja, and help them adjust to being Serpentine.
After helping Garmadon destroy the Great Devourer, the Ninja go on television - with Wu's protection - to tell the world that Pythor was the one that released the Great Devourer. Obviously this causes people to want to hunt down and kill the Anacondrai, which forces Pythor to seek protection by quickly finding the Serpentine, who are now ruled by King Skales. Pythor agrees to give up his title of "King of the Serpentine" in return for the Serpentine sheltering him, which comes in handy when he and the Serpentine are sealed in the Stone Army Vault. During their time in the Vault, Pythor - along with the rest of the Serpentine - reform to become pacifists, with the sole Anacondrai abandoning his plans for revenge against Lloyd, Garmadon and the Ninja.
Not much changes once Ninjago City is rebuilt, except for the Overlord since now he has to find some else to help him become the Golden Master (because Pythor refused the offer); and Harumi since she knows that it was Pythor - not the Ninja - that released the Devourer that killed her parents. Anyways, while Lloyd and the Ninja are praised for saving Ninago from the clutches of the Overlord, they're still somewhat seen as untrustworthy in the eyes of some humans; this is dispelled after Zane sacrificed himself to stop the Overlord from conquering Ninjago as the Golden Master.
The only things different about the Tournament of Elements is that Pythor is still both normal sized and in the Underground Serpentine Village, and that Chen still goes after Pythor rather than going for Anacondrai Lloyd, since he wants "the essence of a true Anacondrai." Luckily, normal sized Pythor is still able to escape the Cultists' Base with Clouse's Spellbook and deliver it to Garmadon at the Corridor of Elders, who sacrifices himself to release Arcturus and the Anacondrai Generals, who in turn send Chen and the Cultists to the Cursed Realm.
After the Second Serpentine War, Lloyd and the Ninja became instrumental in repairing ties between humanity and the Serpentine. This culminated in both sides signing treaties that saw the economies and societies of both humans and Serpentine become intertwined, with the dual purpose of making both humans and Serpentine view each other as brothers and sisters (and not enemies), as well as dissuade either side from making war with the other. Additionally, the Serpentine - especially Pythor - were pardoned for the crimes they committed during the First Serpentine War and after being released from their Tombs.
Obviously, while the Serpentine were happy with the treaties, some humans were infuriated by the pardons, particularly Harumi, who began to gather a group of individuals - known as the Sons of Garmadon - with the purpose of reviving Garmadon send getting revenge against the Serpentine, specifically Pythor. So when Harumi and the Sons of Garmadon kill the Ninjago Royal Family with explosives, they blamed Pythor for the Royal Family's death, and so they kidnap the Anacondrai from the Underground Serpentine Village. So after the Sons of Garmadon resurrect ... Garmadon, Pythor is forced to become Garmadon's domestic servant (slave) , along with other Serpentine that the Sons of Garmadon got their hands on. Thankfully the Resistance - headed by Lloyd and the Ninja - defeated Garmadon and the SoG, freeing Pythor and other enslaved Serpentine.
So after a few years, the Serpent Ninja are forced to go on a quest by an angry Wu, which leads them to help Clutch Powers explore the Pyro Viper Pyramid. It's here that they gang accidently release Aspheera from her prison, who then steals Kai's fire element and revives the Pyro Vipers by making the Pyramid erupt with lava. As the Ninja and Aspheera search for the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjutzu, the Pyro Viper bumps into a Hypnobrai scientist who had not only found the blueprint for the Snake-ification Gun, but had also rebuilt it. Aspheera forcefully takes the ray gun from the Serpentine scientist, giving it to Char and telling him to only use it against Wu if her plan of revenge fails; the blueprint for the Snake-ification Gun is also burned to ash. At the Monastery, once Wu and the Ninja are found, a trigger-happy Char shoots Wu with the Snake-ification Gun, turning Sensei Wu into a Pyro Viper, much to everyone's shock; Aspheera reprimands Char for not following her orders. Nevertheless, the Ninja fight Aspheera, who is only stopped by Zane freezing her, making her lose her stolen fire element, but at the cost of her using the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjutzu to send Zane to the Never-Realm.
Aspheera revels in Wu's anguish for the supposed loss of the Ice Ninja, but that is cut short when Char and the other revived Pyro Vipers begin to complain about being cold, before realizing that the fire/magma that's kept them alive is dying out. As they begin to panic, they slowly become more stiff and sluggish, pleading with both the Ninja and Aspheera to do something - ANYTHING - that would prevent them from dying a second death. Unfortunately for them, there's nothing that either Aspheera or Wu and the Ninja can do except watch as the revived Pyro Vipers solidify into statues, the light of life in their eyes being replaced by the cloudy and glassy essence of death. Obviously, a distraught Aspheera blames Wu for the deanimation of the Pyro Vipers, but Wu finally snaps, saying that its was her fault for losing the fire element that powered the revived Pyro Vipers. Furthermore, he reminds Aspheera that she - not him - deceived him into teaching her Spinjutzu; it was HER - not him - that broke the promise to not use Spinjutzu for evil, something that she then used to overthrow Mambo V and then invade the rest of Ninjago. Additionally, he states that her actions - her coup and invasion of Ninjago - caused the Pyro Vipers to become ungovernable, which led them to violent unrest that eventually saw the Pyro Vipers go extinct.
Aspheera at this point starts to babble incoherently, attempting to finds excuses to blame him for being the Deceiver and whatnot, but all she draws up are blanks. She breaks down into tears, finally realizing that she was not only the real Treacherous Deceiver, but that her actions led to the demise of the Pyro Vipers not once, but twice. Still, Wu doesn't apologize for his little rant, and he goes to call up the Police Commissioner. It here that she blurts out that she didn't kill Zane but instead sent him to the Never-Realm, which alarms Wu and the Ninja. Nevertheless, Aspheera is taken away to Kryptarium Prison while the Ninja go to the Never-Realm to save Zane; meanwhile, Wu destroys the Snake-ification Gun.
A few months after Aspheera's imprisonment, Wu visits her in Kryptarium Prison to apologize for his previous outburst, only to find her in her max security cell being comforted by Pythor. The Anacondrai sees Wu and is surprised to see that the sensei is now a Serpentine, but he realizes that someone must've rebuilt the Snake-ification Gun; Pythor leaves the two while he gets some tea and crumpets for the three of them (it's morning). While Pythor is gone, Aspheera apologizes to Wu for deceiving and betraying him, saying that she was too caught up in her hubris to realize that she was laying the groundwork for the demise of her people. She also apologies for causing him and the Ninja great anguish by sending Zane to the Never-Realm. Wu accepts her apologies, but in turn apologies to her for his past outburst at the Monastery, and how he didn't keep his part of his promise of helping her when she asked for it.
After some back and forth, the two make amends and hug it out, just as Pythor comes back with tea and crumpets for the three of them; he finds it sweet to see Wu and a sobbing Aspheera are hugging it out. Several months after this, Aspheera is released from prison and, with the help of Pythor and Wu, successfully integrates into Serpentine society. For the Overlord, this means that he'll have to find two replacements for Crystal Council he's been drawing up, and he finds the two villians he wants: Clouse and Chen. The Overlord resurrects the two former Cultists, luring them into joining him and his Herald (Harumi) in getting revenge against those that wronged them.
So once the time comes for the Overlord to return, Skales, Pythor and Aspheera join forces and command a small Serpentine force within the crystalized Ninjago City, sheltering in an abandoned building until they hear Wu's distress call, to which they sally forth and join the Ninja's allies in fighting the Vengestone Army. After the Overlord has been vanquished, Vangelis is taken back to Shintario; Clouse, Chen, Harumi and the Mechanic are taken to Kryptarium Prison; and the remains of Mister F are scrapped for parts.
Unfortunately for Chen and Clouse, they are welcomed (ice) coldly by both prisoners and guards alike, and literally a day after their imprisonment, the two of them are shanked to death by several prisoners during lunch ... Julius Caesar style.

[image ID: a digital drawing of Cole and Jay from Ninjago. Cole is holding Jay in a bridal carry, and looking at him fondly. Jay is covered in red, white, and black scales. he has a striped snake tail, which is wrapped around Cole's leg. he is mostly asleep, with one eye partially open, looking at Cole. end ID]
i've been dealing with a lack of motivation to do much of anything lately, much less draw, but Dragons Rising S2 did things to me, man. it apparently didn't inspire me to draw Dragons Rising related art, but i am drawing again nonetheless, and that's the important part.
little bit of AU info under the cut~~~
this art piece is for my Elemental Serpentine AU. in this AU, Jay fully and permanently transforms into a Serpentine- i wrote in an earlier post that the transformation can be reversed even after its complete, but i think i'm gonna change that, because i want snake Jay, and like a spoiled toddler, i always get what i want.
most changes during the transformation are physical. Jay became a little more skittish and a little more prone to hiding in small, dark places, but he is overall the same person he was before.
physically, he's quite different. there's the obvious stuff, like the scales, tail, fangs, claws, and forked tongue, but there are other changes that are less apparent at first. one of these is that Jay can no longer effectively regulate his own temperature by sweating or shivering, and instead has to seek heat and cold from outside sources (he really loves Kai and Zane during certain times of the year).
Serpentine, just like real snakes, slow down when they get cold. during winter, snakes will brumate to save energy when there's little food or warmth available. the Never Realm was pretty hard on Jay because of this. luckily, he has a wonderful boyfriend whose happy to carry him around.
