f1 drivers : where were they before f1 and with who (promoting series edition)
Hello, today we’re looking at F1 drivers and the promoting series they drove in before reaching F1 (along with the results they obtained and the teams they were with). It’s also the occasion to notice which of them have known each other for a very long time, which I’ve also found quite interesting.
The main table contains a total of 42 drivers. All of the 2023 grid and drivers going back a few years (and a couple personal choices).
Regarding the instances where a driver only did a couple of races (and barely got points in the process), they might not have been included in the table.
You can find everyone ranked by birth year at the end of this post (under the cut), along with a study of each generation (which I think is the most interesting thing of it all) (with the 1985 exception, I only highlighted the year/serie combos where at least two of the concerned drivers participated).
I recommend clicking on the picture for better quality/to make them easier to read. I have made the google sheet available in reading mode here, for easier navigation.
A couple of things to note to understand the table properly, some changes in the series :
in 2019, F3 Europe and GP3 merged into the current F3 Championship
in 2017, the GP2 series became F2
in 2012, Formula Renault 2.0 Italia and Formula Renault 2.0 Switzerland merged into Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS
in 2008, Formula BMW ADAC (Germany) merged with Formula BMW UK into Formula BMW Europe
in 2008, French Formula Renault 2.0 became Formula Renault 2.0 WEC
in 2006, Formula Renault 2.0 Germany and Formula Renault 2.0 Netherlands merged into Formula Renault 2.0 NEC
F2 & F3 titles
4 drivers got an F3 series and F2 title, in chronological order : Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Mick Schumacher, Oscar Piastri (the only one who got them in consecutive seasons).

You asked, and I answered.
Alright, buckle up folks here is my overanalyzed date possibilities list.
First, let’s list out everyone who has been a driver since Max joined in 2015. There are 46 of them (including temporary subs and those who didn’t finish seasons).
Now, let’s cut everyone who joined after 2021 as per your previous answer. Down to 41:
Lando Norris,Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Sergey Sirotkin, Nicholas Latifi, Pascal Werhlein, Carlos Sainz, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Rio Haryanto, Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Nasr, Jolyon Palmer, Esteban Gutierrez, Will Stevens, Roberto Merhi, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, Sebastian Vettel, Romain Grosjean, Lewis Hamilton, Robert Kubica, Nico Rosberg, Pastor Moldonado, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Kimi Raikkonen, and Jenson Button.
Age has to come in now. No one more than 10 years older. That leaves us 33 people:
Lando Norris,Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Sergey Sirotkin, Nicholas Latifi, Pascal Werhlein, Carlos Sainz, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Rio Haryanto, Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Nasr, Jolyon Palmer, Esteban Gutierrez, Will Stevens, Roberto Merhi, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, and Sebastian Vettel.
Then we can cut the REALLY irrelevant (aka people everyone forgets existed) drivers because she simply would never date one of them. Now we’re at 25 options:
Lando Norris, Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nikita Mazepin, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Nicholas Latifi, Carlos Sainz, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Kevin Magnussen, Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Nasr, Sergio Perez, Marcus Ericsson, Brendon Hartley, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, and Sebastian Vettel.
Let’s cut people based on whose vibes would NEVER work with her (and Estie Bestie because he doesn’t work with Max so by extension her). Down to 15 options:
Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Nicholas Latifi, Carlos Sainz, Kevin Magnussen, Stoffel Vandoorne, Marcus Ericsson, Daniel Ricciardo, and Sebastian Vettel.
Now we can cut Max and Mick. So 13 options.
Then we can cut some for not being willing to make a move or not interested. Which leaves us 10 options:
Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Nicholas Latifi, Carlos Sainz, Stoffel Vandoorne, and Marcus Ericsson.
Now, I think we can cut Alex and George because I don’t think they would get along. So we have 8 left. So we need to consider Lando, Pierre, Carlos, Lance, Charles, Latifi, Vandoorne, and Ericsson. All could vibe IMO.
One date with Lando. I know they’re friends now but I could see him making a move when he realized Max wasn’t before a mutual friend zoning occurred.
Pierre and Carlos would both be ballsy enough to ask her out and I think she would consider a date with either of them. Both are former Max teammates too so they could’ve gotten close then. Both kinda cocky.
Lance is one of my personal favorites. He’s funny, kinda fiesty at times. I don’t think she would care about the nepo aspect and he’s friends with Mick so the intro is there. Plus we’ve seen the pic of her and Lance so we know they’re at least casual friends.
Charles could work too. Casual with Max, not over the top, good driver. No obvious reason against him.
Latifi is funny, doesn’t take himself too seriously, and could’ve been a single date.
Vandornne is also Dutch. Could be a pro there for them. Maybe met him a bit growing up because of it. Don’t know enough about his vibes to totally rule him out. He’s a Formula E champ, which would be a pro.
Ericsson is also there. Does decent in Indy which is a plus. I just have a feeling it’s not him for truly no real reason.
My guesses at which I’m order or likelihood is:
Lando
Lance
Pierre
Vandornne
Carlos
Latifi
Charles
Ericsson
I feel like I have to have at least 1 of the 3 in those final 10. I’d like to think all 3 but there could be a curevball in there idk. There’s also a shot in potentially missing someone in my original 46.
- 🤠
Tumblr media
THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE IS THE COMMITMENT WE NEED.
Little cowboy person, I salute you 🫡
That vibe cut was brutal lol
You do indeed have at least 1 correct ;)
The math is 99.999% mathing
I LOVE THIS COMMITMENT LEVEL THOUGH. I’m getting all choked up

real gone // charles leclerc ( i )
Tumblr media
summary: following a career-defining tie in france, charles leclerc finds himself drunk on tequila and behind the wheel of an alfa romeo. after crashing in a nowhere town in the french riviera, he finds himself behind bars and on the hook for a few thousand dollars in damage he caused to the town on his drunken bender.
pairing: alfa-romeo!charles leclerc x fem! reader
warnings: drinking and driving ( don’t do it, kids) , charles makes some bad choices and acts like an entitled prick for a bit.
title song: real gone by sheryl crow, from the cars soundtrack
authors note: a part of the ‘radiator springs’ series and based off disney pixar’s cars.
speed. i am speed.
charles leclerc was bouncing on the balls of his feet in the alfa romeo sauber garage, watching as the pit crew- his third pit crew this year- prepped his car for the biggest race of the season.
one winner, nineteen losers. i eat losers for breakfast.
“leclerc!” the team principal shouts “get your ass in the car, it’s go time, kid!”
the driver grabbed his helmet and balaclava, pulling each item over his head as he jogged leisurely to the car.
breakfast. did i eat breakfast? a little bit of breakfast might do me some good. focus!
as the formation lap began, the commentators started to do what they did best ( and got paid to do ) while the crowd went feral.
“it’s ferrari legend kimi raikkonen’s last season with the scuderia, leaving a spot open at the end of the season for one brave rookie soul seeking to move teams, and there are a few god options out there, aren’t there, crofty?”
“that’s right.  and for the first time in formula history, the wdc is tied three ways between raikkonen and two rookies! renaults carlos sainz jr and alfa romeos charles leclerc are creeping up there. today’s race truly could change everything for next season, and wouldn;t it be great for kimi to end his last season with a world title?”
the formation lap was over as quickly as it started, all the cars lined up on the grid with tires warmed and engines revved, just waiting for those red lights to go out.
the second the lights faded to black, charles gunned the engine, following kimi’s ferrari into the first turn, carlos not far behind him.
all that mattered from this point was getting in front of the ferrari.
laps and laps went by.
williams-martini’s sergey sirotkin crashed out, romain grosjean’s haas rammed into nico hulkenberg’s renault.
the less cars on the track, the better in charles’ opinion. he didn’t know where his teammate was, nor did he really care. it was unlikely that marcus was going to have a contract at the end of the season anyways.
another lap passed, and one of the mclarens was out with engine failure.
there were only ten laps to go now, and carlos was breaking even with charles, kimi still seconds ahead.
“charles, you need to box now, i repeat: box now.”
“i’m not boxing.” charles shouted back. it was a two stop race, the engineers had predicted. charles had only done one stop during the safety car that came out after fernando alonso lost power. he wasn’t giving up his space now that his DRS could be activated, leaving carlos firmly behind him.
“you’ve said that for ten laps, charles. your tyres won’t last.”
“sainz is right up my ass” charles protested. “fuck a pit stop, i’m not sacrificing my position here.”
his engineer was stern. “charles leclerc, your tires aren’t going to be able to get you to the finish line if you don’t get your ass in the goddamn pit lane this second.”
“and what if i don’t.”
the engineer cursed. “then i fucking quit.”
“ooh, that one’s gotta sting! charles leclerc’s race engineer has just quit on him. that’s the third engineer this season, as they are struggling to keep up the rookies demands.”
“is forgoing that pit stop really a smart idea though, crofty?”
“not in the slightest, but there’s only five laps left, so leclerc is just going to have to hope to god that his tires stay the way they are now, which is not very likely.”
charles was in the home stretch. now with one lap to go, he just had to hope his tyres held through, staying wheel-to-wheel with the renault and the ferrari as the finish line inched closer and closer. in complete honesty, the ferrari was further ahead. kimi raikkonen was going to cross the line first, albeit not by much. second would be between carlos and charles.
and then charles’ front left tyre blew out.
“fuck! shit, shit, FUCK!” charles screamed to nobody, his eningeer having already left the garage and handed in his resignation letter.
“leclerc should have listened to his engineers! with one straight left to go, his tyres have finally gone!”
“is he gonne get a flag for this?”
“not when he’s mere feet from a championship finish!”
charles cursed again, yelling out as he slammed hid foot down on the accelerator to break even with the ferrari in front of him, carlos sainz still neck-and-neck with the front wing of his car.
and then all three crossed the line, checkered flag waving.
__________
the fia spent half an hour reviewing the footage afterwards, behind closed doors. no podium ceremony was held, no trophies given. the three drivers in question were hustled away from the media, not allowed to give any statements until after the final decision was made on each driver’s placement and the order in which they crossed the finish line.
charles waited anxiously in the paddock, pacing back and forth in front of the alfa romeo motorhome while his teammate performed media duties for the two of them.
“that was a good race, kid.”
the boy from monaco spun around, trying to figure out where the voice had come from, before his gaze found kimi raikkonen, outgoing ferrari driver, stood in front of the alfa motorhome.
“you’ve got spirit, and you’ve got drive. to get where you did in what is a midfield car at best takes talent. you have what it takes for the big three, for ferrari” the finn continued to praise the rookie, charles’ head filling with a vision of waking around in the signature red race suit, prancing horse on his lapel, one girl on each arm. his face plastered on magazine covers, brand promotions.
he almost missed what kimi said next.
”but you’re stupid. you’re reckless. and that’s not going to get you anywhere in this sport. you need to bring your head back down to earth, leclerc.”
charles deflated slightly, but not enough that kimi would notice. his ego was still bigger than his brain, and instead of actually thinking about what th eother driver had been saying, he just nodded, feeling annoyance at what the older gentleman was trying to tell him.
“yes, of course. i will keep that in mind.” charles said hurriedly.
a member of the alfa romeo team came running out of the motorhome in a flurry, stepping in between the two drivers. “charles, they’re done with the footage. the fia is ready to reveal the podium!”
kimi, charles and carlos were still vastly shielded from the media as they were instructed to wait next to the podium. charles was vibrating with excitment. he could feel in his bones that he crossed the line first.
“for the first time in formula one history, the winner of the french grand prix is-”
“the rookie.” charles mumbled, jogging forward and up the podium steps, waiting for the crowd to erupt into cheers.
“a three way tie!”
charles froze as kimi and carlos took to the podium, the spaniard howling with laughter as he clapped charles on the shoulder.
“if i were you, leclerc, i’d be embarrassed.” carlos chuckled. “but it wasn’t me that did it!”
“fuck you.”
“the championship title will be decided in exactly one week at the nurburgring in germany, as a race between our two rookies and the retiring ferrari legend, with his seat at the scuderia on the line!”
__________
eight and a half hours later, radiator springs, the french riviera.
y/n y/l/n sat in the window seat of the small diner, fingers clattering away at her keyboard as she typed furiously, an empty cup of coffee next to her. it was night outside, and emilie, the diner’s owner, was frowning at her from behind the front counter.
“i thought the whole point of getting away from the city was to relax and not stress yourself out too much, yet here you are overworking in the prettiest town on this side of the riviera.”
y/n scoffed, closing her macbook. “in case you haven’t noticed, we aren’t exactly a thriving municipality. i can’t keep the inn running if i don’t try and work remotely.”
“you worry too much.” emilie warned, taking the ceramic coffee mug from the young paralegal. “go home and get some . . . “
the diner owner trailed off, her eyes staring out the picture windows as a black alfa romeo came speeding past, the car giving the cobbled streets a wide berth as it bounced rockily onto the sidewalk.
“what the fuck is his problem?” y/n huffed, craning her neck to watch the sorts car careen down main street and flinching when the ancient radiator springs police cruiser came screaming down the road in pursuit, sirens at full volume.
sharing a quick glance, both women got to their feet and dashed outside the small diner, other residents doing the same as they left their establishments to see what the fuss was about.
at the sound of a crash and a car alarm, the residents sped up, no longer walking briskly as they made their way to the town square.
the alfa romeo was crushed, the front bashed in as the steaming sports car sat in the middle of what was once a thriving garden, spun up dirt and crushed flowers underneath the tyre treads as the cruiser pulled to a halt on the street.
one door flew open, carrying the smell of tequila with it as the driver stepped out, unsteady on his feet, dark hair a sweaty and disheveled mess.
“motherfucker!” the driver shouted in a heavy monaco accent as he stared at his car. “my manager is gonna kill me!” he laced his fingers behind his head as he stared at the scene, oblivious to the angry townsfolk behind him.
“what the fuck is gong on here!” the sheriff shouted, stepping from his cruiser and walking towards the stranger. “you’re in a whole lot of trouble, kid.”
the driver turned around, exposing his soft features and pale complexion to the moonlight before he cursed again. “officer, i can explain, my name is charles leclerc, i am a formula one driver and i need to be in germany as quickly as possible.”
“not like that he doesn’t.” emilie huffed, tightening her grip around y/n’s shoulders as the sheriff arrested the driver.
the man was till protesting as the sheriff dragged him back to the car, going on about how the sheriff would be hearing from the his lawyers and about how the media would have a field day, like he was some big hot-shot.
nobody in radiator springs had ever even heard the name ‘charles leclerc’. and that was all about to change.

Does it matter in which country you hold the Road license?? Because i am pretty sure i have seen a video a few years back about Kvyat not having a license in russia???
it does! but it didn't apply to Dany back then because the rule didn't exist.
the rule about needing to hold a driving license in the country your super license is under came in at the same time as the rule about needing to be 18 and to have collected 40 (or 30 under COVID) super license points. both things came in, nominally, because of Max Verstappen's entry aged 17 and with very little junior series experience but had been brewing for some time.
before Max there'd been several young drivers who'd nearly made it on track pre-18; Sergey Sirotkin, who I think would've had an absolutely terrible time of it and a few other very well-backed drivers.
the FIA and F1 panicked because suddenly it started genuinely looking plausible you'd see a race to have younger and younger F1 drivers. needless to say, minors should not be being held to top level, manufacturer and team motorsport contracts; if they can't sign them themselves, legally, they should not be in that position.
(signing a junior academy contract is different and you would have to re-sign a new deal to move into F1)
so, after 2015 they put in the new rules. which I have a lot of issues with over the super license points and the way it funnels you towards a specific career path but I don't disagree with the age and license requirements. to be one of the 20 F1 drivers in the world that seems pretty fair.
there used to be a lot and I mean a lot of wildly subpar drivers who paid to do a few races in F1 or sometimes even a whole season. Taki Inoue is easy to pick out because he will joke about how bad he was himself but he did hit the safety car twice. back in the olden days of when I first started watching F1, that was less of a problem because you wouldn't actually make it to the race if you couldn't pre-qualify or qualify fast enough, so it just meant you got some free practice sessions and a team of mechanics got paid but it would obviously be a huge issue to have unskilled drivers on track now.
(and they did cause problems, no question)
anyway, that's why all the millionaire failsons are hanging around the back of F2 now.

Marie can I ask you the story behind George supposedly being dropped by Williams for Magnussen? When was it and who was pushing this nonsensical agenda at Williams? I mean I get they were out of money and so on buttt… come on. Were they crazy?
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: We need to start in 2018 here, George is clearly winning F2 and Toto once more doesn't want to put a Mercedes junior into the Mercedes seat. The problem? The only free seat is at Williams, a financially struggling team with another driver option called Sergey Sirotkin, backed by very rich sponsors.
George doesn't have those sponsors but Toto makes an engine deal with Williams, leading to George signing a watertight contract for 3 years, from 2019 to 2021. Claire didn't want to risk George leaving and since this was the only seat option, everyone agreed.
Now, 2020 rolls around and Mercedes actually sees how bad Williams is, Toto doesn't believe that George can learn anything there and wants to get him to sign to another team or even Mercedes. The problem? The watertight contract, Claire isn't budging and George has to stay. Mercedes then signs Valtteri for another year.
Then, late spring/summer 2020, Williams gets sold to Dorilton Capital and suddenly rumours of Williams' new management wanting to sign Perez start floating around. George and Williams deny it, yet only Nicholas Latifi is announced as safe for the next season. A while later, George is also announced again but it still raised a lot of eyebrows with fans, who had suspicions that something isn't adding up. Toto also made a few concerning comments regarding the situation back then but that's it.
It's quiet for a while, George drives for Mercedes in Sakhir, is then announced for Mercedes for the 2022 season and somewhere in 2021 Kevin Magnussen also publishes his book in Danish. It takes a while for translations to come out but fans then quickly find a passage where Kevin confirms that Williams indeed reached out to him for a seat in 2020. Kevin believed that he is supposed to replace Nicholas but immediately turns the offer down when he finds out that he's supposed to be the replacement for George. Or in his own words: it's the most stupid thing one can do.
The aftermath? Everyone was pissed over Williams blatantly lying to fans and even George to some extent. Many others also called that stupid and it's noticeable that George didn't feel as comfortable as before at Williams. But he's at Mercedes now, Williams is properly struggling again and I hope it stays that way because of their fuckery <3

FACTS AND STATS: A first front row start in Monaco for Alonso in 16 years
Max Verstappen pulled an incredible lap out of the bag late on in qualifying to grab pole position, but there were contrasting fortunes at Red Bull with Sergio Perez qualifying down the other end of the grid. In between there were plenty of highs and lows, so here are the best facts and stats from a frenetic qualifying in the Principality… Max Verstappen took his first-ever pole in Monaco. The Dutchman took his 23rd career pole from Fernando Alonso, had the Spaniard held on it would have been his 23rd pole as well. The gap between those two was 0.084s, the closest front row gap so far this season. This will be Alonso’s first front row start in Monaco since 2007. READ MORE: Verstappen snatches pole position from Alonso in thrilling Monaco GP qualifying session In the last seven races here, the driver starting second has won more often than the driver starting first (three wins to two) This is the second time that Verstappen and Alonso are sharing the front row. It’s the first front row start for Aston Martin or their previous iterations in Monaco since Jarno Trulli was second on the grid driving a Jordan in 2000. Verstappen grabbed his first ever pole in Monaco Charles Leclerc was third – not on pole, but then again he has failed to win from his last eight starts from pole, the longest streak since Nelson Piquet’s 10 in a row from 1984-87. The last three wet Monaco Grands Prix have been won from third on the grid. Nobody has won here from outside the top three on the grid since 1996, when Olivier Panis won from 14th. Esteban Ocon qualified fourth, his first ever top four start for the Enstone Renault/Alpine team in his 67th start for them. The gap to pole was 0.188s for Ocon. Carlos Sainz was fifth, he has started fourth or fifth in five of the six races this season. READ MORE: Imola trophies, signed Ferrari Trento bottle and more to be auctioned by F1 Authentics to raise money for Emilia-Romagna flood relief fund Lewis Hamilton qualified sixth, and he finished in the position he started at the last four races here. Pierre Gasly qualified seventh, for consecutive top seven starts in 2023. George Russell was eighth, having been out-qualified by Hamilton for just the second time this season. Yuki Tsunoda qualified ninth, in his first ever Q3 appearance in Monaco. Lando Norris was P10, in his second Q3 appearance of the year after Baku. Ocon impressed in qualifying and lines up fourth Oscar Piastri missed Q3 by just 0.018s. Nyck de Vries qualified 12th, his best qualifying performance of the year. Alex Albon was 13th, his team’s best position in Monaco since Sergey Sirotkin was 13th in 2018. Lance Stroll has never reached Q3 in six attempts in Monaco. In their 150th Grand Prix, both Haas cars were out in Q1 for the second time in the last three races. MUST-SEE: Dramatic start to Monaco qualifying as Perez crashes into the barrier Zhou Guanyu suffered his third Q1 elimination in the last four races. Sergio Perez crashed in qualifying here for the third time and the second year in a row. The Mexican finished fifth from last on the grid in Australia this year. His team mate finished ninth from last on the grid in the race here in 2018. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

dts s1e3! AND e4
-while they first showed the baku maxiel crash in ep2, i'll talk abt it here bc its more focused on in this episode: -now that i've seen the 2010 turkish grand prix, this to me is so so reminiscent to mark & seb's crash. long term driver vs fresh faced golden boy, red bull ~trying~ to be neutral but clearly favoring the younger one, while in MY opinion in both cases it was max/seb more at fault -so daniel's choices make so much sense through this lense, seeing how history was repeating itself -i must say, 🙌 RESPECTFULLY 🙌 claire williams is a milf. hope she's doing wonderfully nowadays -the way sergey sirotkin is literally invisible i was even like who tf is that. sorry u got chewed up and spit out by the f1 machine buddy -in monaco qualifying its an interesting rewatch bc i actually know how things work, so the lil radio snippets actually make sense to me. interestin -this is the first episode where they have a truly well set up victory narrative. real life doesn't usually fit into this good cookie cutter narrative, but daniel's story in this episode really does that and it rly sets the bar for good dts episodes IN MY OPINION -i know that max in this episode gets pointed to a lot as see???? dts edits max to make him look meaner than he is!! and i just dont think thats the full picture. sure, they only show him being grumpy and rash and immature and they dont show any of his goofier side, but 2018 max WAS a big hothead. i honestly think it makes it narratively better to see how immature and short fused he was in season 1 to compare to how he is now!
episode 4!!
-CYRIL COME HOME THE KIDS MISS YOU -oh my god love being reminded of the iconic daniel conversation with his MOM "have a good race love you" "yeah alright. gangster ✌️" -now knowing hondas history gives so much more insight into the nuance of the red bull-honda deal. with them struggling a team and then selling to brawn, to the mclaren honda deals that went horribly, i see it as so much more of a risk than i ever did first watch -which leads me to DANIEL'S CHOICE MAKING SENSE. sure, in hindsight we can see how it failed horribly but it made sense! from the bottom of my heart i dont believe that red bull wasnt gonna prioritize max, and i'd wanna get out of that too! sure it was risky, but if daniel didnt make the jump, would we be lamenting that he didnt instead? i think either choice would've likely gone downhill anyway :( -the exes trying to be amicable bc they still work together vibes are Hilarious -christian's whole 'cyril is an emotional guy' is fascinating because christian is SO emotional!!! the difference is his main emotion is anger, which men tend to convince themselves ~doesnt count~ -'he needs a driver AND an engine 😂😂😂' ate left no crumbs king behavior

i love the pattern i follow when choosing my new favourite f1 driver after my actual fave don’t have a seat anymore - it’s almost always a driver from the back of the grid: Antonio Giovinazzi, Marcus Ericsson, Max Chilton, Charles Pic, Sergey Sirotkin, Jolyon Palmer, etc…
so, congrats to Lance Stroll: you’re a exception 👍

hi hi, so i just discovered rb george au (& love it ofc!!), and i was wondering whether you've thought about who's in the williams instead of him, where perez goes for 2021, or who races for merc in sakhir 2020 when lewis is sick? i know these probs aren't significant to the fic at all but i'm just curious.. thank u :)
Hi! It probably won’t come up at all but I LOVE fleshing that world out so thank you for asking! I realised I’d mapped out my plans for how the red bull seats shuffle, but not the Merc seats.
For the sake of spoilers and not confusing anyone not familiar-
RedBull George Au Spoilers under the cut

For anyone who finds this a little hard to read, the major changes from the real life grid are
2019
- George takes Kyvat’s seat. When Pierre is removed mid season, he’s replaced with Albon, as he did IRL
- Rather than George joining Williams, they keep Sergei Sirotkin for another year
2020
- George stays another year at AT, keeping Danill’s seat
- Since there’s no George of course, Robert Kubica stays, and Sergei is replaced by Nicholas Latifi
- For Sakhir, when Lewis goes out sick he’s replaced by Stoffel Vandorne. For the simple reason that I love Stoff. He does well but not as well as our George did. I may actually have George win that Race in the AT for the sake of nailing down George’s seat in the Red bull coffin
- For races where Robert was used as a sub, other reserve drivers fill in.
2021
- George to Redbull! The Au story begins
- Albon has no seat and becomes Redbull Reserve
- Robert and Williams Stay as they did in 2020, same rule goes for where rob subbed
- Perez has no seat, he works in reserve for Aston.
2022
- the grid is back to the irl grid!
- red bull say fuck it to their junior mishaps, and hire Perez
- Merc take George for reasons shown in the story; but also because they don’t have anyone in their pipeline who fills the roll they want. Nyck and Stoff aren’t quite it, Robert becomes the Alfa reserve to work with Bottas
- both Pierre and Albon have seen how George has been treated after them and realise that the Red bull driver machine is never going to work and they shouldn’t stick around. It is through Georges influence Alex gets a seat at Williams, but it’s more light handed than IRL. George tells Toto about how redbull treated him, and suggests it’s likely albon got a lot of the same. Albon is talented, and Merc think it’s better to let Williams pull talent from away from RB when they can, so they don’t block his move.
Extra note:
- Yes I know I could have removed mazaspin but he is what we call a “free villain”. It’s a chance to use him to cause fuck ups when I need them because he’s a terrible human being

In relation to my last ask,
Merc:
Toto would be an alpha along with James Allison, maybe even Bono. Lewis and Nico would be too caught up with each other for them to matter, but Michael Schumi would also be an alpha. Valtteri would maybe be an alpha leaning beta and he'd absolutely fuck the shit outta Vowles for those radio calls ("Valtteri, it's James") and he'd probably be Vowles favorite but not want to admit it directly for a bit if he were an alpha. Andrew Shovlin would be the omega counterpart for Vowles and during Brawn era, he and James would get down and dirty with engineers from other teams since their team was being sold anyways. When George joins, he's the "little" omega who absolutely deserves all the princess treatment and he's given it with Vowles and Allisons help. Toto spoils George because of this. The only issue with Merc is that they really cling to their pack members and had barely any damn changes (except Valtteri and his 1-year deals, sorry Valtteri).
Excel Sheet Williams:
William is the exact opposite, they fucking loved changes. I can go back to the 2000 for this, so instead, we'll start in '15. Again we have Valtteri but he leaves soon anyways. Felipe Massa is a very angry beta who everyone assumes is an alpha because he just can't drop grudges (see Crashgate). Pat Symonds, the man who developed the car and is now the chief engineer of F1, massive alpha because this motherfucker was involved in crashgate and got his ass back in the sport. In '17, we get William's Princess #2 (first was Rosberg) with Lance Stroll and you guessed it, omega. Little beta Paul di Resta makes his appearance too. Next year, Sergey Sirotkin makes his appearance and he's the omega everyone thinks is a beta. Next year we get a whole new lineup with an omega and alpha. George Russell and Robert Kubica. Robert literally survived a few career ending crashes and now drives in WEC. Daredevil alpha who just can't get out of motorsports. Now we get Latifi, a poor omega who cannot seem to grasp formula one like he did in the feeder series. He accepts Goatifi for his own sanity. Albon, a vengeful (against Red Bull) alpha makes his appearance next, taking Williams Princess #3's seat and doing his best to prove the top team wrong. Now his teammate is Logan Sargeant, an omega who was never taught how to keep their confidence up. Jenson button also makes his appearance as a someone who helps the academy drivers and he's a slutty alpha who is now helping the younger gens. He also used to be on the same team as Vowles (Brawn) and won his only championship with the man (many antics ensued, Jenson is in Vowles top 10). Nyck also was here and he's also an omega. Williams has a problem with developing their omegas so James took that spot from an all beta team principal past to the first non-beta, omega tp.

okay i'm writing some of this down....so like in omegaverse right? so ur omegaverse world has like...team packs? like werewolf packs...? and some are closer than others then. which makes team dynamics good! i wonder if everyone's world has this i just assumed they were all just vibing in the world
heartbroken beta jost capito couldn't get the team to bond but we move on for the plot.... FOR JAMES
and also damn alpha4alpha with jallison and toto...........i guess jallison moved onto newey (idk his designation uhhhhhh beta so im happy for him too. wow this world is extensive anon! even pack dynamics and changes are accounted for. i wonder how merc will deal with things coming up or if the pack will stay together

[1/4]“George was touted as the next big thing back when he won GP3 and F2 back to back” this is interesting to me because I got the impression the LN was the prodigy and the one with the hype and GR sort of only got that in F2 by beating LN basically 🤔.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I will just say to start, I didn’t particularly follow f2 and gp3 closely at the time and honestly I still don’t, but whenever there were articles about who was the next big thing in motorsport, George always appeared on them, he wasn’t exactly under the radar.
Lando got hype because he went the media route. As you say he had columns and he kept his profile up, which is why his name was always in contention. George had the Merc connection and his race results but he wasn’t really ‘forgotten about’. He was on people’s radars long before he beat Lando in F2.
He actually approached Williams for a seat in 2017 for the 2018 season and wanted to bypass F2 entirely. (Article here) They gave it to Sergey Sirotkin in the end because they felt he could do with the extra year but yeah, his hype was unconnected to him beating Lando, it was definitely from his own success.

formula 1 results 78613 - F1 Chronicle
Formula 1 2018: What We Learned From The Season Formula 1 racing is one of the most thrilling spectacles in all of sports. From the roar of the engines to the brilliantly designed tracks, there’s nothing quite like a Formula 1 race. This year was no exception, and with it came a slew of new insights and learnings. In this blog post, we will take a look at five of the biggest takeaways from this season’s racing. formula 1 results 78613 The Drivers Formula 1 is one of the most popular and prestigious motorsports in the world. It is a highly technical race that sees drivers racing around a track at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour (217 miles per hour). Formula 1 has been around since 1906, and it has seen many changes over the years. Here are some things we learned from this season's Formula 1 races. -The cars are incredibly fast: The top speed for a Formula 1 car can reach 350 kilometers per hour (217 miles per hour), which is very fast! -The drivers are incredibly skilled: The drivers must be able to control their cars perfectly in order to win races. -The tracks are incredibly challenging: Many of the tracks in Formula 1 are very difficult to drive on, which makes for a exciting race. The Constructors The Constructors is a new feature that will be featured in the upcoming Formula 1 videogame. It will allow gamers to create their own driver, team, track and season. The Constructors mode was first shown at E3 and it gives players a lot of control over how they want their career to play out. For example, you can design your own driver or team, then challenge other players to races on your custom tracks and seasons. The game also features a "Daily Challenge" where you can earn rewards if you successfully complete a set of challenges within a certain time limit. Formula 1 is one of the most popular racing games in the world and the Constructors mode is sure to add even more excitement for fans of the sport. The Teams Formula 1 is one of the most popular and prestigious motorsport championships in the world. The season typically lasts from early April to late November, with races taking place on weekends all over the world. This year was no exception, as we saw some amazing racing across all three Grands Prix. Here’s what we learned from the season so far: 1. Mercedes still reign supreme As expected, Mercedes dominated this year’s Formula 1 season. They won all three Grands Prix they competed in, and looked unstoppable doing it. Their car is simply too good for the competition, and they showed that again and again this season. It will be interesting to see if they can keep up their dominance in future years though - there are definitely some great rivals out there! 2. Red Bull struggle again It’s been a long time since Red Bull has been able to win a Formula 1 race, and this year was no different. They finished second in both Singapore and Austria, but they looked very uncompetitive compared to Mercedes throughout the whole season. Hopefully they can turn things around and start winning races from now on - it would be a real shame if they missed out on their chance of becoming champions again this year! The Races When Formula 1 returns to the track this weekend, we can expect to see a few familiar faces and some new ones as well. Some of the drivers who will be out in Spain this weekend include Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Fernando Alonso. Both Hamilton and Vettel are looking to take home another championship title this season. Alonso is also in the hunt for a title, but he has struggled in recent races. There are several new drivers who will be on the grid this year. These include Lance Stroll of Canada, Sergey Sirotkin of Russia, and Pierre Gasly of France. All three are looking to make an impact in their debut seasons.
