If you’re secretly a bit masochistic or tend to engage in self destructive habits or behaviors, you can literally transform that into a superpower. You’re already a step above the rest: some part of you enjoys the dopamine rush and addiction of pain. Most of people’s inaction stems from a subconscious desire to avoid pain or discomfort. Instead of harming yourself with bad habits/situations/people, channel that energy into trying new things, putting yourself out there, working out, the discomfort of being a beginner at something, allowing yourself the risk of being rejected or told no. Transform and alchemize your energy and get addicted to that instead.

How Mahoro was initially presented in early promo materials and the first episode OP & ED
When Mahoro was first revealed, she was presented as this cute and peppy love interest character that you typically see in shoujo manga. And when I first look at her, I immediately thought she is kind of an odd duck due to the delinquent-like setting BUCCHIGIRI?! is.
Tumblr media
The promo teaser even showed a split second shot of her just being the cute character who would give the main characters some motivation (well just Arajin lol). This of course made me fear that she would be a plot device that would cause a shitty ass love triangle.
OP and ED gets a bit weird in this. When she is presented in the OP, all of the guys (sans Kenichiro and Marito) are immediately taken aback by her. In the ED, all of the main guys are dancing with her, have few shots of them getting ship teased with her and when she did the heart hands thing, all of them are immediately charmed by her.
Tumblr media
(Wish I could include all guys being heart handed by Mahoro but I want to put in more photos)
But in the main series? Nope. None of the guys except for Arajin (obviously) really like her or are close to her. And that’s because underneath her cute appearance, lies a selfish and toxic girl who only wants her brother’s attention only. And by doing so, she ‘dates’ guys in hopes that they become the new leader of Siguma and have Marito step down so that she can have him all for herself.
Tumblr media
The Siguma members relationship with Mahoro:
- Outa is seen being exasperated by her fangirling antics in the first episode.
- One of the mooks commented that Mahoro dated guys 24 times all so that they can be beaten up by Marito, satisfying her brocon fantasies (which in truth they’re ’tests’ to see if they can beat her brother or not)
- Hagure is shown to be intimidated by her and kept running in circles while being behind Jabashiri’s back in the second episode.
- Jabashiri hardly noticed, much less pay attention to Mahoro.
- Marito is the exception since he is the older brother but even he has limits if the face he made in the second ep is of any indication.
Tumblr media
This even applies to Minato Kai as well:
- Kenichiro, Kamao and Zabu doesn’t know her yet but in the case of the latter two, they probably know her in passing but otherwise they hardly paid attention to Mahoro.
- Matakara does but he dislikes the way she is manipulating Arajin for personally selfish reasons. When he tried to confront her, she straight up ignored him. When he did it again but with force, she screeched like a siren and ran off.
But with all that said, let’s take a glimpse of Mahoro’s character:
- Presents herself as a shojo manga-esque character.
- But in actuality, she’s a massively unhinged brocon.
- toxic and manipulative. All it takes is using a hand heart sign and guys would immediately be ‘motivated’ by her.
- Is known to go out with guys but has never really shown any care about their personal lives (if her actions in 1st and 3rd episode are of any indication)
- morally selfish but not downright evil. Just selfish.
- can fight back if she wants to.
- doesn’t care about anyone other than her brother.
- hates being touched by other random guys who tried to question her.
- ignores people who tried to confront her about her motives.
Tumblr media
I know that I’ve made quite a few posts about Mahoro but she strikes me as an interesting character despite her actions in today’s episode but at the same time, I do hope that she at least have character development along the way, have a backstory that explains why she is the secretly toxic and selfish brocon that she is today and last but not least not thrown or sidelined into a unconventional damsel in distress.
Anyways, peace! ✌🏻

Friendly reminder that your current job being too mundane, boring or below your aspirations are valid reasnons to look for a new job. Remember, that this is part of caring for your mental wellbeing, too. A job below your knowledge, skills and experience level may lead to burnout and low self-confidence. It doesn't have to be only because they don't pay you enough. You're not ungrateful. You deserve to be ambitious.

Once or twice in my career I feel that I have done more real harm by my discovery of the criminal than ever he had done by his crime. I have learned caution now, and I had rather play tricks with the law of England than with my own conscience.

The Nurturer, The Philosopher
Angel Name: ????
Human Names: Crawley, Bildad the Shuite, Crowley, Antony J Crowley , Nanny Ashtoreth, Mr Harrison
Tumblr media
Since the beginning of everything, Crowley was one who enjoyed growing things and asking questions. He came up with his own ideas and wasn’t afraid to question the way things were.
Whether it be creating galaxies, caring for kids, growing verdant plants, discovering the magic of ducks, or rescuing his favorite angel, Crowley is a nurturer. He loves beautiful things, and to him that means all forms of life, of knowledge.
“I can’t see what’s so bad about knowing the difference between good and evil anyway.”
Though not always nice, he is incredibly kind. In questioning everything, he educates others with seemingly limitless patience. While his favorite student is his best friend, his way of making all sorts of creatures feel comfortable around him allows him to spread at least some of the things he’s learned to others.
Jemima wasn’t afraid of him, even after her siblings were turned into lizards. Shax asked him for advice amidst an otherwise threatening conversation. Both heaven and hell seemed to listen to him, with angels following him back to earth when he told them to, and averting a war after Aziraphale blew up his halo.
He is stable.
He is kind.
He loves unabashedly.
He is the protector of humanity.

“Poor Things was gross and exploiting and had misogynistic themes and therefore was not femininely empowering.”
Sometimes themes of misogyny have to exist in media for a female character to rise above them. Although the film can be viewed as raunchy, the sex scenes were actually meaningful to the plot as this story was about her journey of self-exploration, a large part of that being her sexuality and unabashedly fulfilling her desires, as she dismissed and argued against male expectations when they did not suit her. In addition, this film perfectly depicted the way men will attempt to groom innocence and shame girls and women who do not conform to their standards. If you were unable to digest this film for what it truly was, you likely have a very shallow level of media comprehension in this essay I will

“People are reluctant to pass over from the notion of an abstract and negative deity to the living God. I do not wonder. Here lies the deepest tap-root of Pantheism and of the objection to traditional imagery. It was hated not, at bottom, because it pictured Him as a man but because it pictured Him as king, or even as warrior.
The Pantheist’s God does nothing, demands nothing. He is there if you wish for Him, like a book on a shelf. He will not pursue you. There is no danger that at any time heaven and earth should flee away at His glance. If He were the truth, then we could really say that all the Christian images-of kingship were a historical accident of which our religion ought to be cleansed.
It is with a shock that we discover them to be indispensable. You have had a shock like that before, in connection with smaller matters –when the line pulls at your hand, when something breathes beside you in the darkness. So here; the shock comes at the precise moment when the thrill of life is communicated to us along the clue we have been following. It is always shocking to meet life where we thought we were alone. “Look out! ” we cry, “it’s alive.”
And therefore this is the very point at which so many draw back–I would have done so myself if I could–and proceed no further with Christianity.
An “impersonal God” -well and good. A subjective God of beauty, truth and goodness, inside our own heads –better still. A formless life-force surging through us, a vast power which we can tap –best of all. But God Himself, alive, pulling at the other end of the cord, perhaps approaching at an infinite speed, the hunter, king, husband-that is quite another matter.
There comes a moment when the children who have been playing at burglars hush suddenly: was that a real footstep in the hall? There comes a moment when people who have been dabbling in religion (“Man’s search for God”!) suddenly draw back. Supposing we really found Him? We never meant it to come to that! Worse still, supposing He had found us?”
- C.S. Lewis, Miracles

I know that wei wuxian calmed down a lot postres and became a lot more humble but I resent post canon depictions of him that portray him as.... unambitious and subdued. you cannot take wei "no precedent? I'll Be the precedent!" wuxian and try to convince me that he would stop striving for great and impossible things just because he's not as reckless as he was when he was younger

Coming back onto tumblr as my main social media site and realizing how bad the fast-paced algorithm-driven nature of all the other big social media sites was for my mental health. How the constant need to create new things and post new posts was sending me to the brink of quitting being online because I couldn’t keep up. How everyone could reach me at any time and how that was driving me to the brink of walking into the woods and becoming a swamp witch who came into town once a month to go to get more candles and go to Costco.
And now I’m here and I’m like… fuck it. I’ll figure it out. I’ve got my mutuals and my blorbos. We’ll figure something out.
Tumblr is a slow and ever dying hellsite and has been for so long that its status as that almost seems stable. It’s this lazy river in a dying landscape of the soulless capitalist Web 3.0 apocalypse. It’s looking out on a shrinking town in the countryside you know will be gone someday, but the land the town sits on will be here, still weird as ever, and for now you get to wave at your weird neighbours who live here with their blorbos.
It’s nice.
If tumblr goes away – which I doubt it will, despite the tizzy everyone is in lately – I dunno where I’ll go, but it won’t to anywhere like twitter.
