Tumblr media
Emerging from the grocery store, you held bags in both hands while Jacob effortlessly juggled your one-year-old daughter in one arm and a bag of groceries in the other.
The California sun casts a warm glow as you make your way to the car, Jacob holding your precious daughter, Sydney, in his strong arms. His large frame makes her appear even tinier as he cradles her close.
As you approach the car, Jacob’s keen eyes spot a group of paparazzi in the distance. He instinctively shields Sydney’s face, a protective gesture you’ve both mastered in these public moments.
Jacob glances at you, concern in your eyes, “We should be fine, they’re far away anyways,” Jacob assures you as you unlock the car.
As Jacob secures Sydney in the car seat, you glance over at the paparazzi. Some of them notice Jacob’s protective actions and start snapping pictures even more eagerly.
You could feel their invasive gaze, but your focus remained on Sydney, shielding her from the intrusive lenses from the front seat of the car.
As Jacob buckled up your daughter, he could sense you were uncomfortable, glancing at the paparazzi from time to time. He knew how much it meant to you to keep Sydney’s upbringing away from cameras as much as possible.
“I’m going to go talk to them,” Jacob says as you look at him with surprise. “Are you sure?” You lightly bite your lip as he nods, “Yeah, I’ll be quick,” Is all he says before he shuts the door.
You watch as Jacob makes his way to the group of paparazzi. You couldn’t hear what was being said of course but they seemed understanding about what Jacob was saying to them.
Jacob approached the group with a calm but firm demeanour. “Hey guys, I’m not sure if you’re aware but Y/n and I want to keep our daughter away from the public eyes as much as possible. And I know this is your job but could you please make sure to blur out Sydney’s face in the photos you’ve taken?”
One of the paparazzi’s, seemingly more considerate than the rest, responded, “Sure thing, Jacob. I don’t think we managed to photograph your daughter’s face,” He and the others all take a look through the photo’s they’ve taken whilst showing Jacob.
“But if we find one, we’ll make sure her face is blurred. No problem.” The man says as Jacob nods. “I appreciate it. Have a good day guys.”
As Jacob walked back to the car, you exchanged a relieved glance. As he climbs into the car, you felt a mixture of gratitude and exhaustion from the constant vigilance required to protect your family’s privacy.
You intertwine your hands with Jacob’s, expressing your gratitude, “Thank you for handling that.” A grateful smile adorns your face as he grins, bringing your intertwined hands close to his face and gently kissing your hand.
“Of course, I don’t need to think twice about doing something like that to protect Sydney,” Jacob affirms. He adjusts the rearview mirror, stealing a glance at Sydney in her car seat. Her curious eyes are fixed on the window, captivated by the passing palm trees.
Later that day, you were sent a tweet from Jacob’s sister. It’s from one of the paparazzi who interacted with Jacob earlier. The post details the encounter and emphasises Jacob’s kindness in handling the situation.
The tweet read, “Just had a run-in with Jacob Elordi, and gotta say, he’s one of the nicest celebs I’ve encountered. Asked us to blur out his daughter’s face, and even though we’re paparazzi, he handled it with grace. Big respect for him!”
As you read through the comments, you couldn’t help but smile at the overwhelming support from Jacob’s fans. Messages of admiration for his commitment to Sydney’s privacy flooded the comment section.

THE BEAR CHARACTERS’ ZODIAC SIGNS🐻
steaming hot takes with my (limited) knowledge of astrology. but this has been simmering in my brain for many days and i simply must speak my truth...(part 1/?) idk lmk if you want more bc i have a few thoughts!
carmy is an aquarius!!!! i know this to be true deep in my heart!! the passion, the drive, the focus, the intellect, it's all there. he's driven by his desire to be good, and to keep getting better. carmy knows what he wants and although he sometimes struggles with emotional intimacy, he's actually a really good communicator. he doesn't do small talk, but as we've seen, he's open and willing to discuss difficult topics and be vulnerable with the people he's close to. he is a stubborn believer in the people he cares about, and strongly values teamwork and his desire to make the world around him better.
i think sydney is a gemini she is such a summer girl to meeee!! i loved s2e03 bc we really got to glimpse into her creative thought process. it's fast-paced and fluid and innovative and strongly influenced by her surroundings. she has really vivid goals and dives fully into them, as we see her do in building the beef, but underneath it all i think she definitely gets flustered and struggles with self-doubt--what if her passion isn't enough to make things work? sydney's a little impulsive/impatient at times, but recovers quickly because, like carmy, she's a really strong communicator (i could go ON about sydcarmy &their signs' compatibility....but that's maybe for another time lol).
richie is a sagittarius. he just is. he's brash and extroverted and really driven by a desire to find his purpose, whether it be in his relationships or in his work (s2e07 my beloved)!!! richie's an entertainer and a people person and he's not afraid to take up a lot of space. part of this comes from his closeness to mikey, but he's a great storyteller and wants for people to hear him. but when he's upset, esp when arguing with carmy, he's very blunt and isn't afraid to hit him where it hurts. i think some of the other characters find him a bit unpredictable, and likely it's bc he's trying to unpack a lot of difficult emotions while battling against his own pride.
natalie is a libra and i love her for it. i think one of the most prominent things about nat is that she's always seeking for balance, for security, for things to be stable and good and okay (with the bear, with carmy, with her mother) she is a people pleaser!!!!!! which is probably her greatest strength as well as her greatest weakness--she really wants carmy to be okay, but the work she puts in clearly takes a toll on her. natalie can turn up the charm if it helps her get the job done, as we see her do with cicero. she's critical and focused and has a good eye, which makes her a great project manager (where would carmy and syd be without her)

redid this old thing w just the slightest design tweaks :]
ALSO I ACTUALLY HAVE. PROPER LORE FOR HIM PLS IGNORE THE OLD POST I HAD NOT PROPERLY ESTABLISHED EARTH-6275 AT THAT POINT..HERE IS HIS TIMELINE:
[1991] Born to parents Michael and Riley Gargan in Sydney. Both parents only graduated with a high school degree, and work in a fish market. They save up for their son's education. [2009] Mac enters university to study to become a chemistry teacher. Excels in teaching, above average in chemistry. [2013] Pushes his degree further into a Masters while volunteering at a local high school to gain experience with students (he's already got practical assignments from university, but Mac likes the extra experience). [2015] Graduates, manages to secure a job at a university in Melbourne. Mac has to move from Sydney, his parents couldn't be more proud of him. He spends the rest of his years employed there, being known as the most enthusiastic and friendliest teacher in the school. He often sends money back home to his parents. [Late 2022] Mac gets a letter from his parents mentioning their financial struggles, which confused him considering how much money he'd been sending every month but he still wanted to help. It sounded dire, and he wasn't making enough to cover the debt the letter talked about so he needed to find another way to help. He spotted a newspaper ad calling for test subjects for a government experiment, promising big bucks. The amount was more than enough to help his parents, so Mac signed up. [Mid-2023] Missing for months from teaching, Mac re-emerged as someone entirely different. Scorpion. A fighter, a dangerous enemy. An equal to the Spiders. An unstable man. A compassionate man. Trapped in Scorpion. Mind broken.

tmfs question: you mentioned sydney, billy&stu, gale, even a brief mention of steve (if i'm not mistaken) so i'm curious about randy, tatum, dewey and even casey becker. are they all hockey players too? how are their lives without ghostface?
Aha, this is fun!
I play with the timeline a little bit, so most of the main group met in college and not in high school, and they come from all over the country (because I am too fond of realism to have all these pro hockey players from one small northern California town).
I talk about Tatum a bit here -- she's given the inglorious terms puck bunny and WAG, but obviously has much more depth than that. Her friendship with Sid lasted a lot longer than her relationship with Stu, and she became the designated friend that isn't involved in whatever work/passion bullshit you have going on. The person who keeps you grounded and reminds you that this one thing isn't the entire world. She works some vague office job that pays for a great apartment and laughs at her friends who have kids.
Randy fell into the friend group somewhat by accident. Instead of playing, his trivia memory made him a valuable student manager, which also meant that he got pucks chucked at his head during warmups by the team meatheads. What they didn't realize, and Sid did, was that Randy had an amazing knack for seeing patterns on the ice: this person likes to feint that way, this one doesn't like the puck on their stick too long. In return for this information, Sid promised Randy that he wouldn't be used for target practice anymore. He's now a sports analyst.
You know how Flyers fans are the worst (myself included)? Dewey had to work security at home games while the Bash Brothers were doing their thing. That's how he met Gale, who was always trying to sneak into the manager's office or the locker room when she was supposed to be in the press box. He'd be lying if he said her persistence wasn't endearing. Also, goes without saying, very much not a fan of his younger sister dating a dirty player. Especially one with no teeth.
Casey's family tried to sue the NHL for what happened to her boyfriend. He changed after the head hit. Started getting migraines and vertigo, but he got meaner too. No one took her seriously at the time, but then there was the incident with Cotton, and maybe she wasn't so pathetic for suggesting that those guys be run out of the league...
Just because there's no killer around doesn't mean these guys' bodies weren't thrown through the ringer. A lot of them have some of the same injuries as in the original movie, albeit less deadly: scars and stitches and all that good stuff. Dewey still has nerve damage from a fistfight with a drunk guy during the playoffs.

Wednesday 1st February 2023
Wellington was not as windy as last time we were here. In fact quite calm. The well oiled machine spat into action to disgorge as many guests into town as had expressed an interest in doing so. A free shuttle awaited us alongside HMS Milton Keynes to convey us safely out of the dock area before we messed up their container stacking system.
We chose to alight at stop number 2 but traffic was heavy so we got out when we could in the centre of town. We made our way down to the waters edge and followed the map to the Te Papa Museum. We have visited this before but it is extremely good and confident that there was plenty more to see we entered the beautiful modern building that houses it.
Sir William Hobson was commissioned in 1841 to take the Waitangi agreement to all Maori chiefs to get them to sign the deal that Queen Victoria had sat up all night drawing up. Basically it mentioned land a lot and implied that the Maori peoples owned the freehold of all land, but from time to time she might want to wack a block of flats or two here and there. On the up side, a missionary and his son did literally sit up all night translating the document into Maori. On the down side, I don't expect many of them could read.
Of course pretty soon after this somebody spotted yellow rocks in the ground and soon they had a major gold rush on their hands and Maoris were first treated to chicken chop suey and prawn crackers.
The document, or rather a copy of it, is on display. The original is tucked away somewhere safe. Unfortunately before did so, it managed to get a bit wet and rats chewed a good deal of it. Otherwise, what's left is in the safe, quite safe.
Subsequent skirmishes occurred where various chiefs implied they hadn't read the small print too carefully.
A coffee beckoned and then we had to whizz off to bus stop number 2 to return to the ship. We really did not get long ashore and Captain was anxious to get going because he needs to make Sydney in 3 days time. So we sat at the blunt end again, watching New Zealand getting smaller, perhaps for the last time we will see it as the mist and rain began to descend.
Having eaten a really tasty curry at somewhat more than room temperature it was washed down, to clear the pallette, with an Australian Sauvignon Blanc! I should mention here that the bar had run out of New Zealand Sauv!!! I mean we have just left the place. Didn't anyone spot the stock was on the low side?? That would be a good time to get some in!!
We finished the evening in the 2/70 club deck 5, blunt end. They had playing a virtual R&B band which was very good. We virtually applauded them. The clocks go back one hour tonight as we leave NZ waters due west, once again on the Tasman Sea.
Missing, one small dog!
Job opportunity:
Replacement small dog required for light security/ border duties. Big fluffy ones need not apply. Must have accurate nose for sandwiches and pork chops. Excellent working conditions. Alas no working from home. No time wasters.
Yes it's official, the small dog has disappeared. He has not been seen at all.

The face behind Sydney's Stonewall Hotel

The face behind Sydney's Stonewall Hotel
Tumblr media
Stonewall Hotel is one of a handful of venues along Oxford Street that can claim real longevity, having been open for an impressive 27 years this July, and it’s been a staple of the Sydney LGBTQIA+ scene since day one.
Many readers will be familiar with Stonewall’s dangerously cheap Long Islands, but they may not know the face behind the scenes that keeps the place running.
Linda Warren is the current licensee and general manager at the Stonewall Hotel.
For over a quarter of a century she has dedicated everything to the venue, working her way up from a bar back on opening night to where she is today.
QNews had the privilege of sitting down with Linda and talking all things Stonewall.
How long has Stonewall been a part of your life?
I started at Stonewall Hotel’s opening night on the 25th of July 1997, 26 years ago.
Back then, did you know that you’d be where you are now, almost 27 years later?
No, I had no idea. I started as a glassy/bar back. Then I went up to Bar Supervisor and then Management, and now of course Licensee. Stonewall is not only my job, but my passion.
Stonewall is often called the home of drag in Sydney. How is that legacy being carried into 2024?
Stonewall has drag performers working seven nights a week. We are one of the only places that has fully choreographed production shows every Friday and Saturday night, featuring three queens. We’ve also got Sunday nights for up and coming drag artists to perform on the Stonewall stage in our open mic night, Showgirl Sundays.
Are there any standout events or moments from your time working at Stonewall that you can tell me about?
There are so many. Meeting Cyndi Lauper at Stonewall after Mardi Gras, and hanging with one of my idols, Jimmy Barnes, would definitely be a highlight. Even the 2000 Olympics. What an incredible time at Stonewall! And of course the Vote Yes party back in 2017.
We’ve had so many amazing Mardi Gras, the Gay Games… But it’s all of the wonderful DJs, performers, staff, patrons and security guards that I have met through my Stonewall journey. Stonewall is family to me.
We are living in a completely different time to when Stonewall opened back in the 90s. What are your plans for the future of the venue?
It may be different times but we still have our core values of equality and fun which we shall carry into the future.
We also have to keep evolving and growing the business as changes to Oxford Street occur to stay relevant and continue to be the heart of the community. What do you think Stonewall represents to the scene here in Sydney?
It’s become a home to so many people and known all over the world as a fun, safe and friendly environment. We are a hub of diversity and an inclusive community. For everyone.
What makes Stonewall unique to other venues along the strip?
All the venues on the strip are very important and are all part of the wonderful community. Stonewall strives to be a place where you can be who you want to be and love who you want to love without judgement.
We love working with the other venues and want the future of Oxford Street to stay as a fun, safe, welcoming environment and continue to be one of the best queer destinations in the world.
-Stonewall Hotel is at 175 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.

Customer Service: Excellent customer service, clear communication, and professionalism are important traits of a reliable electrician. Your initial interactions can give you a good indication of what to expect.
Tips for a Smooth Electrical Service Experience
Clearly Define Your Needs: Before contacting an electrician, have a clear idea of what services you require. This helps in getting accurate quotes and ensures the electrician can meet your expectations.
Prepare Your Space: If possible, prepare the area where the electrical work will be performed. This can save time and make the job easier for the electrician.
Understand the Process: Ask the electrician to explain the process, including timelines, what the job entails, and any disruptions you might expect. Understanding the scope of work helps manage expectations on both sides.
Conclusion
Choosing the right electrician in Rouse Hill is essential for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of your electrical systems. By focusing on qualifications, experience, reputation, and the quality of service, you can find a professional who will meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
