So I watched the final season of Hsmtmts and it was, in my opinion, the best one yet. The characters were all developed brilliantly (my favourites being EJ and Mr Mazzara as usual, but I loved them all) and I almost wish there were more seasons even though I'm glad that it ended on the high it did. I'm going to miss the wildcats but I'm so glad I found this little theatre show and followed it through to the end!

So glad you guys are liking these!

Ashlyn excitedly opened her front door. It was her birthday and EJ was taking her out to dinner before Maddox picked her up for a date.

She stepped into the dark living room and reached for the light.

"Surprise!" A chorus of voices shouted when she flicked on the light. All of her friends jumped out from various hiding places, effectively scaring the shit out of Ashlyn.

"You guys!!!" She ran up and hugged them all tightly. After they all separated, Maddox came to the front of the group and kissed Ashlyn's cheek.

"Happy birthday, Ash," she said with a smile.

Soon enough, the party was in full swing. Music was blasting, drinks were being poured, and everyone was having a great time.

As Ash sat down next to her cousin, Maddox jumped up and stood in the middle of the room. "Time for presents!" She shouted.

Everyone gathered around Ashlyn with their presents in their hands, handing them over to the birthday girl. A knitted hat from Gina, a necklace from Kourt, the cutest cow stuffed animal from Seb, and so many other things.

Finally, Maddox handed her a small bag. Ashlyn reached inside and pulled out a small DVD, she had no clue what it could be. Maddox took the DVD and put it into the TV.

Maddox grabbed the remote and turned to Ashlyn, "so you know that documentary crew that followed us around and we still don't know why? Well, I asked them for a favor." She pressed play and sat down, wrapping an arm around her girlfriend and whispering, "God I hope you like this."

A black screen pops up, followed by the words "Season 4 Edited." Before Ashlyn could ask, the video already started playing.

"Yeah, I may have had a crush on Ash over the summer, but she has a boyfriend," Maddox said in the interview on the TV. TV Ashlyn walked behind TV Maddox, instantly catching her attention. The Maddox on the TV stared after the girl for a moment before turning back to the crew, "I really hope she breaks up with her boyfriend."

The camera cuts to Maddox complimenting Ashlyn's goth look for a movie before going into another interview. "She looks... really good in goth," Maddox told the camera. "And I think my PA barking impressed her. I'd like to see Big Red do that."

The video continued, showing hidden clips of Ashlyn and Maddox pining for each other before opening night; their almost kiss on Halloween, all of the special moments they shared that the crew managed to capture.

The video ended with a short happy birthday message to Ashlyn, who was in tears as she watched the small movie.

"Did you like it?" Maddox asked cautiously.

Ashlyn turned to her, "I love you so much."

"Baby, baby, baby, ohhhhh!" Ashlyn laughed as Jet sang. At one point EJ broke out the karaoke, and all of the theater kids had been taking turns singing random songs.

Ashlyn watched in delight as Jet sang the end of the song. She was about to go up next, but Maddox tapped on her shoulder. "Hey, can we talk outside?" She asked.

Maddox took Ash's hand and led her to the porch. They could still hear the party inside, but it was much quieter.

"Happy birthday, Ashlyn," Maddox said when the door shut behind them. "I got you one last thing." She pulled a small envelope out of her pocket and handed it to her girlfriend.

"Maddie, you really didn't have to get me anything," Ashlyn started before Maddox prompted her to open it. Inside was a small card.

"Read it out loud," Maddox said excitedly.

Ashlyn rolled her eyes and smiled. "Ashlyn, thank you for being there for me through everything. I love you so much, and even if I'm terrified that I'm gonna mess us up, I'm not as scared when I'm with you. Happy birthday. Love, Gadget." Ashlyn instantly enveloped her girlfriend in a hug. "You're the best, I love you too."

Maddox smiled widely, "there's one more thing in there."

Ashlyn slowly reached into the envelope and pulled out to small slips of paper. "You didn't," she said as she looked at the two tickets for Wicked on Broadway.

"I did. Happy birthday, Ash."

"This was the best birthday ever, Maddie, thank you."

Ok so I am barely on Tumblr but I was reading through the hsmtmts tag and it just seemed so negative! I mean maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I really liked this season! I mean I don’t ship characters on this show so maybe that’s why i’m not so passionate about either portwell or rina but honestly I think this season was a lot of fun! Sure I missed Seb and Big Red but the new characters were really good! The girls bonding was just so sweet! I love female friendships like this! Ricky’s birthday bucket list was such a fun plot line and Nini getting him the ticket was such a sweet closure to their story! Maddox and Jet finally getting to the point where they can laugh at each other “admitting” their crushes was such a great growth for their relationship! Big Red coming out was so out of pocket but so on brand that I literally squealed! Ej and Val’s friendship was perfect! The real housewives episode was the best tv episode i’ve seen in awhile! Everyones Frozen costumes were beautiful! Ej and Ricky’s enemies to friends to brothers arc was so great and I can’t wait to see where that leads! And sure they could have definitely handled the whole Ej situation better and hopefully they will handle it! Sure it was a little rushed but it was also such a fun season, the music was incredible as always, the jokes were hilarious, and I think so we’re most of the serious moments! Idk maybe i’m reading into it to much but I actually really liked this season and can’t wait for season four!

Honestly I just hope that Ricky and Gina are happy, at this point idc about portwell or rina

I think Maddox and Jet are coming back for season 4, which I'm happy about cuz I love them and their sibling relationship

Why couldn't we have EJ sing instead of Emmy (or whatever her name is, I'm not that invested in her storyline. No offense to the actress tho that plays her tho)

Big Red revealing that he's bi and Ashlyns reaction to it was cute

I loved Val this season too (forgot to mention her for a hot second lol)

I wish Seb was there!!

Kourtney finding out about Jets crush was cute and funny too lol

"Oh my god, Ash." Carlos practically ran into the robotics room.

"What? I thought you had rehearsal with Seb?" She asked, looking up from her computer.

"We just finished, but guess what. I–"

"Mr. Rodriguez, this is a meeting for the robotics club, I know Miss Jenn allows just anybody to walk into her room, but I don't," Mr. Mazzarra interjected.

Carlos waved him off and turned back to Ashlyn, "I asked him to homecoming and he said yes!" The pair cheered loudly, much to Mr. Mazzarra's displeasure.

"What are you going to wear?" Ashlyn asked excitedly.

Carlos thought for a moment before finally saying, "I think the dark suit with red roses, it brings out my eyes. Oh I hope he wears something that brings out his eyes." He sighed, looking into the distance longingly, "He has such nice eyes..."

"Hey! Sebby!" Kourtney bounced into Ashlyn's kitchen. Seb didn't hear her. He was too busy staring at the boy in the living room.

Carlos was explaining a challenge to the two teams listening intently. Seb didn't think he could ever be more in love with a person than he was when Carlos whipped out High School Muscial: The Choosical.

Kourtney waved a hand in front of his face, "Seb, are you okay?" She followed his gaze to a certain boy and sighed, "oh, you're in loooovvvveeee."

Seb jokingly pushed her, smiling as he did so. "Can you blame me?" He asked, "Carlos is just so passionate in everything he does!"

Carlos looked up from the card he was reading and flashed a quick smile at Seb, whose heart instantly melted. "He's so cute."

Kourtney laughed, "Oh, Seb, you've got it bad for that boy."

Seb nodded, "Yup, I definitely do."

A part of having weird thoughts and ideas is also having these escalating daydreams. This is one of those.

I was out roller skating and while I was, I started daydreaming that there was a scene in s4 of HSMTMTS where Carlos, Ricky, Seb and Gina I think?? those four were out roller skating. And this is how the conversation went:

Carlos: Did you know there was a TV show airing on Disney Channel about a mexican girl who liked to roller skate?

Carlos: Or she wasn’t actually mexican, she was like, born argentinean but got adopted in Mexico, it was strange.

Seb: Sounds really fun, why have I never seen that on Disney Channel?

Carlos: Oh it didn’t air in the US. I only know because my cousins in Mexico were obsessed with it.

Gina: Why didn’t they air it here?

Carlos: Well, I think it has to do with the fact that they don’t speak english and people in America just don’t like to read subtitles.

Seb: What?? I read subtitles! I can read!

Carlos: Yes honey, but there’s barely any show they can air here where they don’t already speak english, cause people complain too much.

Gina: Can’t they just… dub it?

Carlos: Actually, there was a previous show they did dub in english, but when they aired it, no one wanted to watch it because they all complained about the voices sounding weird or whatever…

Gina: Aaah…

Carlos: …so when they sort of gave up when this show came, since the previous had gotten such poor reviews in english speaking parts of the world

Seb: But they sound fun! I wanna watch them!

Carlos: Oh you can, they’re on Disney Plus!

Ricky, who has not heard a thing and almost crashes into them: What’s on Disney plus?

Gina: Some latin american shows that aired on Disney Channel.

Ricky: They’re not shows you have to read subtitles for, right? I hate reading subtitles.

Carlos: One of them is dubbed.

Ricky: Ugh! I hate dubs! They sound so weird.

The others: *shares a look*

Now, this daydream might have ended here, but no. I continued the daydream with how fans watching HSMTMS suddenly starting looking up and watching these shows, but they sort of had the same kind of mentality and vibe that they had in the HSMTMTS fandom, so we we’re all like ”watch the shows if you like, but please don’t act like you do in the HSMTMTS fandom, we have another vibe here - we’re a smaller fandom that want to keep our peace”

And then my daydream ended. As mentioned, it kind of escalated and probably it would never happen (though I would fangirl asf if they actually talked about the DCLA shows in HSMTMTS)
