this is a little teaser bit from the first chapter of my new bucky barnes AU story; seasick. it’s out now on my wattpad—tvdutw. and this full chapter will be up later today.

just a little bit of background, this book is a slight enemies to lovers and definitely not a slow burn. it’s going to be full of angst, super super fluffy, and pretty smutty.

“Hey, Jace.” She sent him a flirty smile. A smug smirk arose on his lips at the sight of her. “Hey, Attie.” He started pouring the alcohol into a red solo cup, handing it off to her.

“Oh, actually could I get another one?” Atlanta asked, Jace raised his brow at the question. “Yeah, for who?” He spoke curiously. Atlanta wanted to roll her eyes and walk away, sometimes it was just the simplest things.

“Just Peter.” She shrugged, he poured her another cup and handed it to her. “Thanks.” She muttered.

“Find me later, preferably right before you leave.” Jace sent her a wink. She smiled and nodded, turning on her heel and walking away fast. Atlanta had the strong urge to slap herself for ever letting that idiot touch her.

The sound of her name being called caused her head to snap up, her eyes meeting those of Steve Rogers. A year older and considered one of the “prettiest” boys on the island. His family owns the local food market, the only place to get imported goods from the mainland on the island. “Steven!” She cheered playfully.

“I thought I told you to quit calling me that.” Steve rolled his eyes at the shorter girl. Just as Atlanta was about to respond with a snarky comeback,

she spotted the person behind Steve. Of course he was standing right behind the blonde, because when were they not together, they’re practically attached at the fucking hip.

James fucking Barnes. Or more commonly known as Bucky. Copeland’s prized golden boy. Standing at a minimum of six feet tall, dark hair falling messily along the top of his forehead. Clean, freshly shaven jaw, sharper than the finest blade. Blue eyes brighter than most kids on the island’s futures. Gorgeously toned and tanned chest on display from the open button up hanging on his broad shoulders.

He’s by far one of the hottest guys on the island, girls practically falling at his feet. It also didn’t help that he’s one of the sweetest and most charming people you’ll ever meet. And Atlanta hates him.

“Hey, Atlanta.” Bucky smiled. He knows how the girl feels about him, but he’s a guy, so naturally he wants to play into it. Plus if he was being honest the way she behaves around him drives him crazy. He never could quite understand why she disliked him so much.

Atlanta simply rolled her eyes at him, muttering a simple “See you later.” Towards Steve before pushing past the two friends. After the girl had cleared earshot Steve spoke up to his friend.

“She really doesn’t like you, does she?” He mocked with a deep chuckle. To which Bucky responded with a sharp push to his shoulder.

“Fuck off, dude.” He rolled his eyes as he continued in the direction of the drinks.

soo i’ve been planning a new bucky fic for like 3 months at this point, and i finally just finished the first chapter. it’s 6,624 words… but anyway it’s an AU. kind of like beach, surfer vibes. big outer banks vibes.
