MAN OF LAWLESSNESS The Antichrist will come with power, with signs, and with lying wonders. But all of this is according to the working of Satan, as described in 📖 Revelation 13:13-17. If someone has spiritual power, signs, or wonders, those are not enough to prove they are from God. Satan can perform his own powerful works, either through deception or through his own resources of power. “He is Satan’s messiah, an infernal caricature of the true messiah.” However, the deception can only take root in those who do not receive the love of the truth. These people are ready for the deception of the Antichrist, because they want a lie, and God will send them a strong delusion. 💁🏽‍♀️ They were first deluded, which was their sin; and God sends them strong delusion, and that is their punishment.” "That they should believe the lie": Specifically, God sends them the lie. This isn’t just any lie, but the lie, that has enthralled the human race since Adam. 🤦🏽‍♀️ This is the lie that God is not God, and that we are or can be gods. 👉🏾 God's point is that the anti-Christ will embody all that is profane and blasphemous, every conceivable element of impiety; and that, instead of being rejected, he will be welcome by Jews as well as pagans. That they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness: As God gives rebellious man the lie he desires, it isn’t out of His generosity. Instead, it shows God’s judgment on those who reject the truth. As 📖 Romans 1 points out, in judgment God may give a man up to the depravity of his heart, to his pleasure in unrighteousness. They think that they are acting in defiance of God. But in the end, they find that those very acts in which they expressed their defiance were the vehicle of their punishment. #abidinginchrist #antichrist #eduringwisdom #2thessalonian2 #scripturewithpatu #thefall #manoflawlessness #followingjesus https://www.instagram.com/p/Co4sQ-POHpI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Scripture says that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can understand what God has prepared for those who love Him. The Holy Spirit does bring us closer to God because we have God's spirit. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can know God, and we can know the wonderful things that God has prepared for us. GOD SPEAKS TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE The LORD illustrates the essential principle that His word "shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please” God’s word has something to accomplish. (previous verse 📖 Isaiah 55:10) The rain and snow eventually do return to heaven, but not before accomplishing their purpose on earth. Even so, God’s word, when He sends it down from heaven, does not return to Him void. Instead, it always fulfills His purpose on earth. God doesn’t just speak to hear Himself talk. His word is not empty or lacking in power. This also means that God’s word has a purpose. He didn’t speak in unfathomable mysteries just to blow our minds, or confuse us, or leave things up to any possible interpretation. When God speaks, He speaks to accomplish a purpose. It shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it: God’s word doesn’t barely get the job done. It shall prosper in the purpose God has for it. It is rich and full of life. God’s word always succeeds, and always fulfills God’s purpose. This doesn’t mean that it doesn’t matter how God’s word is presented. Sometimes a terrible sermon has been excused by saying, “God’s word doesn’t return void.” The principle is clear and true from this passage of Isaiah, but because of the preacher’s poor preparation or preaching, there has been little of God’s word set before the people. The preacher can ignore, dilute, or obscure God’s word so that little goes forth. When little goes forth, that little will succeed – but how much better if more of the whole counsel of God went forth to succeed. 🙌🏾 Gods Will Shall Be Done #GodsPlan #eduringword #abidinginchrist #godswill #dailydevotional #youversionbibleapp #godspeakstoaccomplishhispurpose #wedoitforhisglory #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/CmGFqsbtX3C/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

God’s goodness to the seeking soul 🤲🏾 The LORD is my portion: As in 📖 Psalm 119:57, Jeremiah found the key to satisfaction—finding one’s portion in the LORD. Whatever measure he was to receive, whatever inheritance, whatever future, it would all be found in Yahweh. These are the words of a satisfied soul. Jeremiah had no other place of satisfaction, so he was settled with the portion received, and that portion was the LORD Himself. Jeremiah found joy in God's faithfulness. Don't give up! He is worth The wait! 🙏🏾 In Christ, there is hope He is worthy of the wait. 🙌🏾 #abidinginchrist #kingdomprinciples #waitonthelord #godisgood #seekinggod #dailydevotionals #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/CiRagD7NU7f/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

CLARITY IN CHAOS 💁🏽 Apostle Peter in his first letter to the scattered Jews in exile wrote this in 1 Peter chapter 4. 📖 1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you. But insofar as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, keep on rejoicing, so that when His glory [filled with His radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may rejoice with great joy. 🤔 When chaos enters our lives which is unavoidable how do you respond? 🤔 What kind of clarity in your chaos do these verses give you? 💁🏽‍♀️ Chaos isn't something that we welcome into our lives, but being able to see through it, to see Jesus knowing that He is right there with us does bring great clarity. 🤔 Where are you experiencing chaos in which you need clarity? 🙏🏾 Ask God for His perspective and expect to hear from Him. Let the peace of God spill over you, know this, your trials are not in vain. 🧐 Go Deeper: Name the chaos you feel in your life right now. How can you rejoice in those trials? God Is Always There 🙌🏾 Your Trials Are Not In Vain. #abidinginjesuschrist #christianprinciples #christianresponse #rejoicealwaysinthelord #abideapp #imfollowingjesus #scripturewithpatu #clarityinchaos #GodsPlan #wedoitforhisglory https://www.instagram.com/p/Chr_kqWrlUR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

CITIZEN 😇F HEAVEN 📖 Hebrews 13:14 For here we have no permanent city, but we are looking for the one which is to come. 🤔What does it mean to live as a citizen of Heaven? 🤔What does it look like to live as a citizen of heaven? 🙋🏼‍♀️The writer of Hebrews makes it clear that the world isn't our home we're meant to look forward to a home that is yet to come. Part of what that means is that we can expect suffering while we are here on earth. Suffering unites us with Jesus Christ and we are not to fear or shine away from it. Rather than conceal our lives around trials trying to stay safe, secure, and free from discomfort. We're invited to establish our lives around generosity. 🤔 What might that look like for you? 💁🏽‍♀️ Looking at people who are looking forward to means that we show Hospitality to strangers then fearing them. It means we remember those who are in prison and those being mistreated. It means we don't love money. We are satisfied with what God has given us, and what we have. 🤔 Which of these attitudes my God be calling you to embrace today? 🙏🏾 I am a citizen 😇f Heaven 🙌🏾 #citizensofheaven #eternallife #eternallifewithjesus #heaven #GodsPlan #godspeople #abidinginchrist #abidespp #dailydevotional #dailydevotionalswithabideapp #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/ChIFIMGL4v8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

BE CONTENT The strength to be content with life during trouble comes not from begging God to increase our own abilities but by letting Christ live His life through us. Jesus called this "abiding in Him:" 📖 Philippians 4:10–20 describes how Christians can overcome worry and worldly desires, regardless of their circumstances. By making a purposeful decision to be content, a believer can trust God to provide our true needs, and not be consumed with materialism or anxiety. Paul has learned this skill through his many trials and ministry experiences. Paul also thanks the Philippians for their generosity, and expresses his confidence that God will bless them for it. 🤲🏾 God provides all I need 🙌🏾 #abidinginJesus #howtobecontent #abideapp #christianprinciples #christainliving #GodsPlan #dailydevotionalswithabideapp #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/ChGdQv5N7Y9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

WHAT SEEDS ARE Y🤔U PLANTING Paul has been encouraging Christians to live a life marked by the fruit of the Spirit (📖 Galatians 5:19–25) and to support each other in the struggles of life (📖 Galatians 6:1–5). Christianity is all about the grace of God. He gives us good things which we could never have earned on our own. In our sin, we deserve death and suffering. Instead, in Christ, God gives us life and purpose. Still, as Paul states clearly in this verse, the grace of God does not eliminate the principles of choice and consequence. In this life, our decisions will bring with them natural results. We must not lie to ourselves, that because of God's grace and forgiveness of our sins, we will not suffer any harm if we continue to choose sin. To believe such a thing is to mock God, to make light of Jesus' sacrifice for our sin on the cross. 💁🏽‍♀️ What we do in this life does matter, beyond even the question of whether or not we will see heaven. In eternity, our choices will be reflected in our heavenly rewards, for those who are saved (📖 1 Corinthians 3:12–15; 📖 2 Corinthians 5:10), or our eternal punishment, for those who are not (📖 Revelation 20:11–14). Until then, the "crop" we produce between now and the moment of our death is also determined by the "seeds" we plant along the way. God's natural laws of cause and effect still apply, to believers and unbelievers alike. Paul will expand on this idea in the following verses. 🤲🏾 Harvesting Seasonings #abidinginchrist #plantingseason #harvestingforthelord #bibleref #scripturewithpatu #jesusislord https://www.instagram.com/p/CggGh8ENzgA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

✊✊🏻✊🏼 SPIRITUAL FREEDOM ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 Spiritual Freedom isn't just available if you want it. You are called by God to walk in it! The power of Jesus is death on a cross, which sets us free from the chains of our sins. But it takes conscious effort, complete surrender, and practice to shake off those chains to walk away from them. Let go! Of those sins, take Jesus by the hand, and ask Him to lead you to Freedom! 📖 Galatians 5:11 But as for me, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision [as I had done before I met Christ; and as some accuse me of doing now, as necessary for salvation], why am I still being persecuted [by Jews]? In that case the stumbling block of the cross [to unbelieving Jews] has been abolished. 🙏🏾 I Am Set Free In Christ Jesus 🙌🏾 #spiritualfreedom #bythepowerofHisbloodwearefree #surrenderingforgodspurpose #jesuschristislord #GodsPlan #godisfaithful #godisourpurpose #walkingingodspurpose #bookofgalatians #scripturewithpatu #abidinginchrist #imfollowingjesus #biblestrength https://www.instagram.com/p/CfpTY2-vd0s/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

JESUS SAID TO HIM FOLLOW ME 🙌🏾 This comes immediately after Jesus has restored Peter after a painful fall (📖John 13:36–38; 21:17). The prophecy about Peter's death, in a way, also serves as a prediction that Peter's faith will never fail. 🙌🏾 John, James, and Peter were Jesus' closest followers (📖 Matthew 17:1; 📖 Mark 14:33; 📖 Luke 8:51). 💁🏽‍♀️ Jesus has just predicted the nature of Peter's death, with John standing nearby (📖 John 21:18–20). Out of natural curiosity, Peter has asked about John's fate (📖 John 21:21). Jesus' response is not harsh, but it is direct. He gives no prediction but only points out that what happens to John has 🙅🏾‍♀️ nothing to do with Peter's faith. 🤯 Peter doesn't need to know what will happen to John—now that he's been restored, he just needs to obey: "you follow me!" 🧐 Even if John were to live from that moment until Jesus' second coming, it would not change Peter's calling or his need to obey Christ in faith. 🙌🏾 That principle applies, more broadly, to Christians even today. It's good to care about the fate of others. We should seek to meet their needs. 🧐 But whether others "win" or "lose," and even whether they live or die, doesn't change our obligation to focus on personal obedience. 🙌🏾 🤦🏽‍♀️ Ironically, even though Jesus is refusing to comment on John's death, rumors and misinterpretation will arise. In the very next verse, John repeats the precise words used. 💁🏽‍♀️ He does this to dispute an incorrect assumption that he would not die until Jesus returned (📖 John 21:23). 🙏🏾 I'm Following Jesus #abideinjesus #followjesus #godplan #kingdomprinciples #godssovereignty #godisallknowing #obedienceinthelord #dailydevotional #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/CfbFhKcufj4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

HOPE IN THE GLORY OF GOD You will share in the glory of God 🙌🏾 🤔 Does that seem too marvelous to be true? This is what God has in store for everyone who puts their faith in Jesus we stand by God's grace, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Let that truth take root in you! God's glory is great beyond measure it is eternal. When the things of this Earth pass away God's glory still endures, God's glory is powerful beyond what we can imagine. Paul says in the next chapter in Romans that Jesus was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father. Then he goes on to tell us that our sufferings now aren't worth comparing for what is to come. Praise God for His glory. Let your light shine for Him rejoice in the grace of Christ, and the glory of God. REFLECT: Scripture says that the "whole earth is full of God's glory" 🤔 Where do you see God's glory most clearly right now? Personally, it's in my heart, my life, my family, my prayers, my praise, and my response. THOSE WHO TRUST IN CHRIST HAVE BEEN SET FREE 🙌🏾 📖 Galatians 5:1–15 focuses on what those in Christ should do with our freedom in Christ. First, we must guard it, especially from those who would pressure us to follow the law. Paul was confident the Galatians would resist the one leading them in the wrong direction. Paul's readers were in danger of wasting that freedom, by veering off in one of two directions. On the one hand, false teachers were pressuring them into circumcision in order to be sure of being right with God. 💁🏽‍♀️ On the other hand, freedom can be squandered on serving only our sinful desires instead of investing it through serving others in love. God's Spirit gives us the power to do that when we let Him lead us. Life in the Spirit bears powerful and positive fruit in a Christian's life. Paul also warns us not to waste our freedom in Christ to selfishly serve ourselves instead of serving each other in love. The entire law is fulfilled in that one word: love. Those who serve themselves, though, will always end up in conflict with each other. 📖 Romans 8:24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 🙌🏾 Jesus Is Our Only Way 🙌🏾 #byhisgrace #jesusisfreedom #jesusislife #savioroftheworld #jesusisking #itsbyfaithnotbysight #thegospelofjesuschrist #bibleref #itiswritten #dailydevotional #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/CfUX6WwODdY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

🔥 FAN THE FLAMES 🔥 🤔 What do you think your spiritual gifts are? As you consider the gifts that God has given you. 💁🏽‍♀️ How can you keep those burning bright? 💁🏽‍♀️ What will you do to make sure that the fire for Jesus does not die? Fan into flame the gifts of God He wants you to remember and rekindle the unique and every precious gift that you have to offer the world. Renew that spark that He placed in your heart and become the person that He is calling you to be. 📖 2 Timothy 1:6‭-‬7 That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire—the special endowment] which is in you through the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. OVERCOMING SPIRITUAL INSTABILITY 🤔 Feeling insecure? 📖 Psalm 27:1–6 demonstrates David's confidence in the Lord. He trusts God will protect him from his enemies and restore him to Jerusalem, where he will offer sacrifices. 📖 Psalm 22:8–26 is a parallel passage. It's possible David wrote this psalm when he was in the Negev, as a fugitive from King Saul, or during the violent rebellion of his son, Absalom. In the second half of this psalm, David pleads with God for the very deliverance he seems assured of in the first half—demonstrating that "knowing" not to be afraid does not make a person immune to the emotion of fear 🧐 Run To Jesus Christ! 🙌🏾 #Godisstable #injejesusthereisstability #abidinginJesus #Messiah #ourlordandsavior #scripturewithpatu https://www.instagram.com/p/CelPEueOc6F/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
