hey yall!

soooo there is a situation with gracieispunk and i had a long time ago and with all this drama going on i felt like it was time to explain my side of things.

story under the cut

months ago (if you were on tumblr in september) i wanted to write a maintenance man joel x male reader but, since i started on wattpad i wanted to make sure i got gracie’s explicit consent before even writing it, around september i texted her, but she never responded.

it’s now october at this point and my friend tags me in a WIP game so i post my drafts and along with my drafts i post my maintenance man draft and at this point i couldn’t figure it the title for the of my fic so i just put “maintenance man — maintenance man!joel” and then i wanted to give me asking her another chance, so i went in here ask page and see if she was able down to talk.

she responded to my WIP and finally we got to talking

as you can see, she blocked me shortly after that, this is when i had a full blown panic attack and i had to call one of my best friends that helped calm me down and made me realize some things, but i couldn’t help but see if gracie had posted something about this situation, and she did.

but a couple days had passed since the situation (this happened in like a span of a week might i add) and a lot of people, whom i’ve talked about the situation with, has stated that people can’t own a character or anything and i made the conclusion that im still going to write maintenance man joel for the male audience, a whole different thing, inspiration and plagiarism are two different things!

the male community is tiny compared to the community that i don’t write for. i would understand if i was just stealing her idea, word for word, but that’s not me. at all.

i forgot to mention that a bunch of authors that i had looked up too, to come out of my shell in the writing world had blocked me, i don’t know what gracie told them, but all that i know is that a lot of authors blocked me, maybe they had their own reason, i don’t know.

but, all of this drama with basically putting small writers down, i would like to say i was one of them in a sense, where i literally almost quitted my future career. but im glad i told people about the situation and everything, because if i hadn’t, i possibly would’ve deleted tumblr and not made any of the friends/acquaintances that i have now.

so if you wanna hate me? go ahead. support me? i love you. shit on me? make me feel bad about myself? try it, i do it every day. i’m not posting this out of hate for no one at all, im just here to write and have a good time.

haiii i used to be einhornsocken !! (the anti that has THANKFULLY deactivated) i'm not really into discourse anymore (hence why i don't have my own blog anymore and am posting this on a headmate's blog lol) but this post made me mad so i had to say something

for context devilradz was an "undercover" anti "pretending" (for lack of better words) to be a radqueer. their intentions didn't seem to be bad, though. they weren't intentionally trying to hurt anybody as far as we know (and i'd bet no radqueer is even actually as affected by this as they claim to be)

the person in the screenshot had a fairly popular anti blog at one point (burningradqueers) and then right before new years deactivated and made a rq blog. they were never actually an anti though. i will call them O because they seem to throw tantrums if you even dare mention their name

afaik the anti behind devilradz themselves didn't have anything to do with people finding out about O's radqueer blog. i don't remember them being involved in whatever was going down at all. personally disliking antis in general doesn't make it okay to be an ass to one specific anti that didn't even do anything wrong

i am the anti they are talking about when they say they were named publicly by an anti. you wanna know what actually happened? shortly after O had deactivated their anti blog, i got an anon saying that O was actually radqueer despite saying they were still an anti. i didn't believe this at first, and then whaddaya know? i get sent O's radqueer blog.

this is where me "publicly naming" O comes in. i wanted to let the other antis know that O was, infact, a radqueer, and that the anon wasn't lying. so i made a post along the lines of "burningradqueers is actually a radqueer, anon wasn't lying" but did not post the name of their radqueer blog anywhere.

at this time, i was still using O's deadname (unknowingly) and so i get told "hey this is O's current name please don't deadname them" by an anon. i guess because i started referring to O as their current name, that caused other antis to be able to find O's radqueer blog easier. not once did i tell ANYONE their rq blog's name. i literally just stopped using their deadname. i'm such a horrible person for using O's name /sar

"antis were fine with that" haha. multiple antis were saying things like "don't jump to conclusions!!" about O despite knowing that O was/is dating a pro c transn@z1 (censored so this actually shows up in tags). if anything, the other antis were overly kind to O.

"you only deserve privacy if you're an anti /sar" lol. there have been several anti blocklists/report lists made by radqueers. love it when radqueers say our community sucks and then do the exact same things they're criticizing us for /s

I’ve never come after sunny, yeah we used to interact but that was a while ago, unfollowed him before you and him fell out. (Not for any particular reason, i just stopped enjoying his content) To the best of my knowledge I've never even talked about sunny after we stopped interacting and I don’t remember saying anything bad about him ever?

I have Courtney blocked, i definitely didn’t want her attention as she implied. Or the attention of any of the gossip blogs for that matter bc, to the best of my knowledge, I have them all blocked.

Big Time Rush Season 1, Episode 4: “Big Time Bad Boy”

I originally didn't have this on my "episodes to review" list, but I changed my mind. I don't have a whole lot of memories of this one, so it'll be fun to revisit it.

Highlights: To save the band, Kendall Knight is forced to wear dark clothes, eyeliner, and cause thousands of dollars in damage to Rocque Records.

For anyone just finding these posts, I'm not planning to write up commentary/review for every episode. Mostly because I want this to be a fun experience for myself and not feel obligated to make a post for every episode in the series (especially if it's an ep I either don't really like all that much or one that I simply want to sit back and enjoy without taking notes and lots of screenshots, lol)

So..."Big Time Bad Boy." I seem to recall this one being played a lot on Nickelodeon, but my memory of it is fuzzy. What I do remember for this one consists of two things: 1. Kendall dressed all in black and 2. He pees in Gustavo's desk??

All these years, and that's what stuck. Onto the episode!

The guys are in the studio singing "The City is Ours." They sound and look great, but Gustavo isn't super impressed. Something is missing, he says, and that something happens to be A Bad Boy. Someone who will shake up their image a bit and give them an edge. He comes to a quick conclusion.

Kendall looks both surprised and horrified at this suggestion, to which I ask: why?? Need I remind you, Mr. Knight, that this path to L.A. was paved precisely BECAUSE you were exhibiting many bad boy-esque behaviors??

Have we forgotten this? This Kendall who once attacked Gustavo via an enraged 90's pop song performance, fought with security guards, and seemed to have the entirety of his self-control tied together with frayed string is now bewildered that he's being nominated for the position of Official Bad Boy??

I'm sorry, I had no idea that I would get so hung up on how Kendall was handled when I decided to rewatch this show. I don't know what's happening.

Gustavo goes on to explain more about the necessity for a bad boy in every band, and I admit that I can see why Kendall is so opposed to it. The bad boy is being framed as someone who turns his back (quite literally!) on the others, and we all know that's something Kendall could never do. This is a loyalty thing for him, so yeah, okay. Makes sense. However, the other guys quickly jump at the chance to fulfill the role once they learn it comes with lots of money, fame, and girls.

Kendall is unamused.

Over at the Palm Woods, Mrs. Knight is worried that Katie has no friends her own age, so she introduces her to someone named Molly.

Katie instantly doesn't like her, but Mama Knight says you can't judge someone before getting to know them. Mrs. Knight then wildly misinterprets a situation between Bitters and Buddha Bob, assumes Buddha Bob is an axe maniac, and runs away screaming with Katie over her shoulder.

When the guys get back to the apartment, James, Logan, and Carlos are full-swing into the bad boy act. This is no match, however, for the Mom Look.

When James, Carlos, and Logan fail to impress Gustavo at his Bad Boy Audition, he once again tags Kendall for the role. When Kendall again says no, Gustavo has some surprising news for him.

Refusing to do what he's told makes him a bad boy!

Ha! You've been bamboozled, Kendall.

When Griffin comes to take a look at the guys, he's dismayed at the very obvious lack of bad boy. "A bad boy is someone parents would never let their daughters date. And I would let my daughter date any one of these boys," he says, which is one of my favorite lines so far.

Griffin really went, "These boys are sweet and respectful, and it upsets me."

He came prepared with a ready-to-go bad boy: WayneWayne.

The boys don't like him. Gustavo doesn't care.

We return to the Palm Woods where Katie is trying to avoid having to play with Molly. She thinks there's something wrong with her. Mrs. Knight then sees what she thinks is Buddha Bob tossing bodies into a dumpster (they're mannequins).

Meanwhile, at the pool, BTR are angrily watching WayneWayne. After complaining about him, Logan says, "And that's why we're gonna get rid of him. Kendall, get rid of him."

For some odd reason, Kendall wonders why he has to do it. I dunno, Ken; maybe it's because you're the one who has to do everything, remember? Logan always looks to you to fix things. That's your JOB. You need to get rid of people who are upsetting your friends, solve every problem that comes their way, and do everything. All the time. Forever.

No pressure, though.

After a quick little pep-talk to his scaredy-cat friends, Kendall stands up to WayneWayne, which ends up backfiring immediately. There's only room in the band for four people, so somebody has to go if WayneWayne is going to be added in.

Poor Logan.

Kendall begins another impassioned speech that's interrupted by WayneWayne, who declares that it's going to be KENDALL who gets kicked out of the band. The guys all go running to Gustavo in a panic.

Including this screenshot for no other reason than Kendall's reaction in this moment cracks me up.

James says, "He wants to kick Kendall out of the band!" And Kendall just goes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Gustavo defeatedly tells the boys that Griffin is in charge and there's nothing he can do to help. He's firmly against Kendall's insistence that they can come up with a plan and tells them just to focus on learning the lyrics to the new song they're working on.

When the day comes for Griffin to visit the studio and see the band, Kendall is suspiciously missing. When he does arrive, he's sporting a new look.

Yes, Kendall has evidently dug deep down within himself to salvage the last remaining vestiges of First Episode Kendall and channeled it all into one spectacular burst of Bad Boy Behavior.

He absolutely demolished Gustavo's office. I mean. It is entirely destroyed. I wonder how much that all cost to repair.

In one last desperate attempt to win the "bad boy off", WayneWayne kicks Griffin, which is one step too far. Griffin announces that BTR already has a bad boy—Kendall—so his services will no longer be needed. He will, however be put into a band still. WayneWayne is dragged off by security. Kendall tells Griffin that he doesn't want to wear the black clothes "all the time" and he isn't going to turn his back on his friends, which I guess is his way of officially accepting his bad boy role??

So, like. If this is establishing Kendall as the necessary Bad Boy, as per Griffin's request, does this carry on through the show (even though it's never mentioned again as far as I can remember?). Does Kendall remain BTR's bad boy for the duration of the series?? If so, that's very funny considering who Kendall turns into character-wise.

This guy? This absolute goofball is Big Time Rush's bad boy??

Ok, I've gotta pull it together and wrap this episode up.

Kelly finds out that Gustavo, though enraged as he did appear, was actually in on the plan the whole time. When he'd handed out the lyric sheets, he'd included a secret message for the boys.

Aww, Gustavo did some super sneaky scheming with his dogs. And hooray! The band gets to stay intact (until the next time it's threatened, of course).

Victorious, the guys head back to the Palm Woods to see how WayneWayne is doing in his new band: The Ziggle Zaggles

Need I remind you that this is still the same day. It probably hasn't been more than an hour or two since WayneWayne was dragged from Rocque Records, and he's already ON THE TELEVISION in his new band.

It this level of absolute absurd nonsense that really makes this show such a gem. Ridiculous. The Big Time Rush universe has one foot out of reality at all times, and it's great.

For an added dose of weird, the Ziggle Zaggles is interrupted by a news broadcast warning people of a police chase involving Molly, Katie's new "friend." She was actually a 20-year-old con artist the whole time. She also stole Mrs. Knight's car. The end. Cue the credits.

Decent episode overall. I skipped over most of the Mrs. Knight, Katie, Molly, and Buddha Bob storyline to avoid making this post even longer and because there wasn't much "meat" to that part of the episode anyway. I also feel like this was another episode where James, Carlos, and Logan didn't really have much to say or do? I noticed that with the first episode as well; they acted more like props or sidekicks who were only there to occasionally chime in while Kendall ran the show. I look forward to seeing them get fleshed out a bit more!

An Open Message to The TWST Fandom

If you have seen this post before, this is a repost. The previous version was not showing up in the tags.

This post is for anyone who has seen the posts of, interacted with, or felt harassed/made uncomfortable by the blog fandom4lesbians:

You are engaging in a bad faith argument with a racist, homophobic, TERF whose only interest is driving a wedge in the fans by starting pointless discourse using buzzwords and skin-deep morals to support their irrational words.

I have seen people already begin to put the pieces together as to who this person actually is and I wanted to come forward and present everything I felt obligated to dig up. I have evidence and connections that this person, “Marie” who claims to be a black trans lesbian aged around 16-18, is the one behind several genshin and twst accounts that have been seen in the tags before.

Unfortunately, because I had not considered that I would ever need to make this post, I do not have as many screenshots as I would like, but please read what I have to say and draw your own conclusions. My goal is not to throw some overzealous teen to the wolves, it is to get rid of a nasty person who has made it their hobby to harass TWST and genshin fans. That being said, I am not in the genshin fandom so I do not know the full extent of what this person has done there, but I will mention what I know for sure.

If you’re wondering who I am, the answer is literally nobody. I am a lurker who is sick and tired of bigoted idiots taking over fandom spaces and making others uncomfortable, I just so happened to have some physical evidence against this one. I am also an adult, so I will attempt to remain calm and mature throughout this post, but please forgive me if tension rise a bit.

I will also potentially be making additional posts if more things come up, but I will not make any promises.

Evidence to Follow:

1. genshin-lumine and racism/homophobia

approx. 1-2 months ago, this blog popped up for me in the TWST tag, they had a long list of TWST OCs (all of which were female and darker skinned). nothing suspicious there, until

they made several posts claiming that--in addition to Leona, Ruggie, and Jack-- Kalim and Jamil (characters who are known to be middle eastern and even south east asian inspired) were also black because (paraphrase) “there is no way a character with skin that dark couldn’t be black”

furthermore, they made claims that shipping two male characters together was fetishizing mlm... but has no problem with wlw ships? this is where the TERF claim comes in, it’s nothing explicitly “man hating” but it’s not subtle either and the behavior continues in the future

all of this occurred in the span of a couple days, and people rightfully messaged them explaining that what they were doing and saying was wrong (i was one of them and gave them the benefit of the doubt, but quickly saw that was pointless), but the user only doubled down and refused to listen

i think at this point people also started going after their OCs, calling them boring, Mary Sues, stupid, etc. and that seemed to get a bigger reaction, but nothing major yet

i’m guessing enough people had gotten sick of them and were flooding their inbox with messages so they deleted. to start fresh.

2. yuunatsukuyomiinwonderland; Lumine 2.0

this blog started out pretty inoffensively, but something caught my eye as soon as i saw their post in the TWST tag. they made an OC (female, darkskinned) named Yuuna Tsukuyomi using the TWST chibi picrew--like many others have done, nothing wrong with it--but what stood out was the description. the wording and construction of the post was nearly identical to those from the lumine account. so i got suspicious immediately

once again people began messaging them, saying mainly that a non-Japanese person naming a non-Japanese character after an important Shinto god was not a good look, and again this person refused to listen, saying that it was their right to do what they wanted with their character

but people knew something was up, myself included, and after the circus that was genshin-lumine, i wasn’t being nice anymore and messaged this person in no uncertain terms that we knew who they were and to fuck off, we didn’t want them there

so they deleted, again. but guess what? something interesting happened when i was looking through my browser history for evidence that i wasn’t going crazy:

and this is when i knew that i had something. moving on.

3. mult1fandoml3sbian: the Return of Yuuna

now at this point, i thought it was over and was proven wrong. this account was essentially Yuuna Tsukuyomi but with a reskin. instead it was Yuri (i think) Amaterasu. again, same language, same chibi picrew, same problems. furthermore, the time between the creation, or at least awakening, of these accounts is too coincidental. genshin-lumine deleted and then soon after yuuna pops up, then yuuna deletes and around one week later this one comes out with a near identical blog just different name

and the problems start once more. i believe this is the point where they began receiving a lot of explicit anon hate, mainly racism and homophobic things which were... not pleasant to read by any stretch and i don’t condone anything that those anons sent. you are no better than her, you are equally bad if not worse. but these messages were brushed off with short, “zingy” responses, one-liners really, or some form of “that’s not nice”, despite the really gross things that were being said. and the traffic of these posts didn’t slow or stop, the user was seemingly responding to every one they received

so i doubt the total validity of those messages, but i will not outright say the user sent them to their own account bc i don’t know anything for sure

but, time passed and this blog was deleted as well. then, less than 3 days later...

4. fandom4lesbians, the Most Recent BS

here is when i lost all faith that there was a god.

it was really the same cycle on repeat, but this time they hit it big in the genshin community. the blog is still up at this point and refuses to stop so i recommend looking right at the source to see what exactly they are doing and what they received.

to summarize, they made inflammatory comments about two newly revealed female genshin characters being in a relationship and condemned people that shipped them with male characters. immediately afterwards they received a slew of vitriolic and disgusting messages to their inbox about their identity and race. however, my current theory is that they started out sending less offensive things to themselves but attracted other bad people (genshin is full of gross weirdos) that thought they were real and jumped down her throat with even worse comments.

but then the traffic stopped for a peaceful day or two, and then started up again full force and now they are spamming the TWST tag with their fem vs masc MC garbage

and many other prominent users have received messages in their inbox asking the exact same version of “what do you think of fem!MC in TWST anime?” literal copy and paste

and to my great joy, no one gave them the time of day, even when poked further by additional anons telling them to answer the question seriously. clearly that was not exactly the reaction they wanted. long live the Shrimp!

also, remember Boycott Ghost Marriage? that was this clown and plays further into my TERF claims

5. Conclusion

is anything in this post enough to be considered hardcore evidence in a court of law? no probably not, but i hope your critical thinking skills are developed enough to see my point

these four accounts all cropped up one right after the other, they were all genshin and TWST related, they all had something to say regarding the fandom and how they treated female characters/made bigoted comments towards minority groups/have the exact same habits and writing style in their posts

another thing i noticed is that they all reblogged posts from an account called damnfandomproblems as part of their first few posts, just another suspicious thing to add to the pile

6. What do YOU need to do?

ignore them, block them, report them. if you’re brave enough, go to their blog and tell them to go away, but whatever you do, don’t stake too much brain power on it.

and for the love of god, don’t be racist, homophobic, etc. to counter their BS

best case, they’re a troll who needs their IP banned. worst case, they actual believe the idiocy they’re spreading and aren’t going to stop spamming the tag until someone doxxes them or something (don’t do that, that’s illegal)

if anyone has further evidence of this person acting a fool, i will have my inbox open and welcome discussion

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

well my first move in any fandom is always to block every single ship tag for my favorite character with the exception of maybe like 1 or 2 but for the brief stint that i did not. ok because i havent actually seen any obikk shippers outside of scrolling on japanese twitter i just know theyre out there and rampant but the irukk shippers via the "posts like this" tab on the righthand side of the screen have assaulted my poor eyes with FAR too much maskless kakashi so for naruto fandom in my personal experience theyre sitting at number 1. also the ship just annoys me on principle because i KNOWWWWWWWWWW i know the kind of people who like this ship even though its srsly the most boring thing to ever exist ever and i cant believe im saying anything mildly positive about this stupid awful ship but at least obito and kakashi have a relationship. if you make it romantic it sucks and youre ruining it but at least its something thats not worlds most bland generic found family fluff like irukk so BORINGGGGGGGGG ITS SOOOOOO BORRINGGGGGGGGG and you know exactly the people who are like "omg..... my soft uwu gay beans.... KYAAAA!!!!!" eat this up. of course not to say that the obito/kakashi people arent the exact same im sure they completely erase their canon dynamic to make it this as well but since i havent been subjected to it and god willing i never will be i cant speak of it

14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

i srsly spent way too long trawling the naruto fanfiction archives and came to the conclusion IM SO SRS SICK OF TIME TRAVEL FICS THIS SUCKSSSSSS NONE OF YOU GUYS ARE DOING ANYHTING INTERESTING WITH ITTTTTTTTT I DONT CAAAAAAAAARE I SO DONT CAAAAAAAAAAAREEEEEEEEEEE. and also just rampant wild mischaracterization everywhere its so bad its so bad like theres this really bizarre situation the naruto fandom has where people are just so so so so so bad at understanding these characters i see so much random nonsense and im like HE WOULDNT SAY THAT SHE WOULDNT DO THAT THIS WOULDNT HAPPENNNNNNNNNNNN GUUUUYSSSSSSSSSSSSS. 16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

soooooooooo soo many things but one thing that immediately jumps to mind is madara and hashirama and tobirama like i like hashirama and tobirama but not enough to actaulyl think about them and im always so shocked and surprised that people srsly like really love these guys. like for most popular things even if i wildly disagree (cough cough obito cough cough) i can see why people like them because it falls in line with the pattern of fanon behavior but hashirama and tobirama and madara im like SRSLY WHY DO YOU GUYS CARE SO MUCH.... idk maybe theres a filler arc or soemthing ill have to sit through whenever i get back to plowing away at the naruto shippuden filler. maybe one day ill post highlights of my review google doc

sorry im back on it again this morning (since i think these asks i came across are from the same op as the last post i screenshotted and this is likely in response to my post and the tags of others on the post)

a) op states that refusing to acknowledge harmful things a person (woman) is doing is not feminism. thats true, its not. and it’s not what i do, either. what i am specifically talking about is baseless comments made that distort reality and presume olivia to be an unequivocally immoral person and harry a victim of a stunt, rather than understanding this as a mutually-beneficial arrangement that both parties have entered into, with full knowledge of what it entails and what would be asked of them

b) if anything, there is no “lowering an objective moral and ethical standard” for women, but in fact an unreasonably high standard women (in general, but also specifically within this fandom context) that women must meet to ever be considered acceptable (and if any woman has met this standard, please do tell me cus i cant name one). the things olivia is derided for, the thing she is hated for, are in equal measure (or greater) present in harry styles. “treating others poorly in professional settings” (firing previous members of his band w/ little to no regard for their financial wellbeing or that that his tour was likely the major source of income they were waiting for since they had been slated to work it prior to covid) (not to mention that olivia’s supposed mistreatment of people is, so far as can be materially proved, pretty baseless atm), “allowing them to make everything about sex to the detriment of other people’s comfort” (again, fairly baseless for olvia since she has talked about a range if things in regards to dwd, and she is hardly to blame for the focus that media outlets and fans have on sexual aspects of the movie) (and i think this is where harry’s music videos come in-- in ws and lnt both he was full clothed surrounded by much-less-clothed women, and i think its likely models and actors in the videos were more likely to accept the role despite discomfort because of financial motive, and i do not think there was any kind of intimacy coordinator to help manage sexual and sexist scenes, since this role is apparently very important to dwd haters)

c) i disagree with the “crux of feminism” here and find it unbearably shallow, but the whole “women do bad things too!” is the most useless and overdone idea of modern feminism, as if women do not have a history of being accused of wrongdoing, being thought to be immoral, being the scapegoat for all things bad and the downfall of good society, etc. there is no “dehumanizing” here or denial of “complexity”.

d) literally what in god’s fucking name decisions are you talking about in which patriarchy made it harder for olivia to make the RIGHT decisions?? (also condescending but). for all that this last paragraph pretends to be sympathetic to patriarchy and the impact it has on women, it all comes down to “well even if patriarchy is involved, olivia still did wrong and deserves no ‘pass’ at all and btw i have no empathy for her and the position she is in”. again, no one is getting a “pass”, but if someone actually wanted to consider patriarchy as a motivating factor for any of olivia’s actions, i think you would end up at a much more nuanced and empathetic conclusion.

e) my “crux” of all of this is that it is absurd and obviously misogynistic to say baseless things about olivia and hold her to much higher standards than you would harry. clearly so. if you dislike olivia, stop paying attention to her. disengage. admit that your dislike comes from a place of “protecting” harry and not liking the choices HE is making, rather than pretend you are on a moral crusade.

FUCKING HELL GUYS, my very rad friend Charlie who isn’t on Tumblr was talking about Izzy feelings and analysis and I told him if he wrote something I’d post on his behalf. This is a legitimate gem, please read, it’s an important thing to learn about while also an incredible take on Izzy that I haven’t seen articulated. (If you like this, post your enthusiasm in the tags so I can screenshot them and bully Charlie into joining our feral pirate tumblr crew) “Listen up fuckos, because here’s a bunch of thoughts about how Izzy Hands of OFMD is my OCPD.  OCPD (obsessive compulsive personality disorder) is nothing like OCD. Here’s the DSM on it because it’s pretty straight forward: "a pervasive pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and mental and interpersonal control, at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts.” There’s a big overlap with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), but they are separate, despite how I’ve seen OCPD-ish traits in media. OCPD also makes me miserable on the reg. 

My presentation and experience of OCPD has been more that even after a shit load of therapy, I feel that things are either Wrong or Right, there is a Way Things Should Be, No Man Is An Island But I Will Be A Peninsula, Control, and last but not least, esp. in this gay pirate show, Desire Is Wrong.   

I see Izzy as doing everything he can to maintain the status quo, which he holds as the Way Things Should Be. In the environment on the Revenge where he is so out of Control of his world, I see him lash out any kind of weakness he perceives in the vein of what younger me did. Less threatening to kill people on my end, and more “I’ll turn being a spikey person and I can stay aloof, and no one will poke the soft bits of myself.” When he is in charge of the Revenge, he uses this inflexible and cruel leadership because it is the Right way (which is arguably learned from Edward but let’s keep going) even if it is destructive and he doesn’t get that until he is nearly thrown overboard.  

At the same time as all of this, Izzy is desperate to be helpful and doing the Right thing as he did for Edward in the past in an effort for Ed’s love and reassurance because Ed’s the only person he respects, which I would say is partially because Blackbeard is the manifestation of Izzy’s Way Things Should Be. This is why Izzy’s sad little wave at Edward when it’s revealed the English are only after Stede. Izzy is doing what he thinks is Right and is saving his life in the process which has got to be helpful. Edward casually discarding Izzy for Stede also hurts to see because Edward is where Izzy gets all his validation and without that feels worthless. This gets me because I cognitively know I’m pretty good at what I do, but I only really feel that when I get validation from the people I respect. 

The toe scene gets its own paragraph. I see two layers. The first one is this primal joy that things are back to being Right because the “real” Blackbeard is back, which goddamn do I not get when things go the Right way. The second is the fucked-up manifestation of a whole lot of repressed feelings of Desire for kink and just sexual relationships in general. This also comes up when he gets choked out and when he slut shames Lucius. There’s this huge repression of feelings of Desire in part I think because it involves giving up Control to another person, in violation of No Man Is An Island But I Will Be A Peninsula. And christ on a cracker realizing this got me real good in ways I am not prepared to confront. 

In conclusion, the gay pirate show and especially Izzy Hands made me feel lots of feelings. I don’t see a lot of this aspect of myself in media. I can really only think of Adrian Monk in Monk, who overlaps at lot more with the OCD and ASD-like sides of OCPD. I’m not sure I want to see my OCPD in “the good guy.” It has made me a bad person to lots of people. It’s a disorder that has fucked me up immeasurably because it enables success under capitalism and also destruction and isolation. It’s something that makes me a good employee and also miserable, which I also see in Izzy. He’s the perfect right hand man for the Blackbeard persona. It’s worth mentioning that OCPD is thought to be largely underdiagnosed, which I think that valuation of workaholism and productivity under capitalism plays a large role in. It’s a disorder that’s made me objectively successful thus far. 

Anyhow, HBO please announce season 2 so I can make sure I have plenty of therapy appointments booked around that time.

i've seen a lot of bad tumblr takes but the one where someone went on for a multiple paragraphs-long rant calling peggy carter a seductress hell bent on splitting up steve and bucky (they said they also could mean this platonically, so it wasn't just a "i hate seeing my fave white men in ships with women" thing, which like. yeah. sure you did.) for DARING to wear a nice dress to a rare fun night at a bar in the middle of wartime really lives in my mind rent free forever because like what the fuck.

i don't have a screenshot of the post itself but here's some tags quoting it when i ranted about it when i first saw it like over a year ago

alright i'm gonna say it. i hate kid fics.

part of this stems from me just not ever wanting kids myself, so it's not really anything i'm particularly interested in, but also most of the ships i ship i don't think are in a position to take care of kids due to their jobs, situations, etc

sam and bucky are superheroes. bucky is still under a very strict pardon with a lot of scrutiny from the government, and sam is captain america. both of them have targets on their backs constantly, and need to be going often from one place to the next to run very dangerous missions they've got a higher chance of not coming back from, and i just don't think this is a particularly stable environment to be having children

also i don't think bucky is mentally in a place to be able to take care of kids full time right now, nor has he done anywhere near enough of the work in actively unlearning his prejudices and racism to be a parent to a Black child

i'll read kid fics sometimes in aus, even if it's not my favorite kind of fic, but it really puts me off to see canonverse fics where they're coparenting, and i generally won't even open them, even if i love the author that's writing it

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

does zemo as a whole count? like i think he's a fun character and he's got an interesting morality to get to examine, but people have kind of latched onto him in ways i don't care for, some going so far as to say he was right actually, or to think he's important enough to get sandwiched into all of sam and bucky's stories, and i just don't think so. he was a good villain/self-serving character, and he had a satisfying but open conclusion in the end of tfatws, and i think we can leave it there. bucky's guilt or self worth or whatever doesn't need to depend on zemo, and neither do all of sam's missions henceforth

What’s This Blog About?

Basically this started as a realization that I was saving way too many BSD-related links on the app I use to keep track of all my obsessions, reactions to things, etc. So I figured a Tumblr blog would be the solution, and now this is my archive of things I would usually just save as a link elsewhere (plus some thoughts of my own to spice it up a bit.)

Why am I writing this like a three-point thesis...ah never mind.

And that’s how I sort out my obsession with this stupid show. If any other piece of media seizes me by the throat like BSD has, then I’ll probably start posting about it here (but my fixations are usually short lived and thus onto main sideblog they go).

I tend to...ramble in the tags a lot, which I mildly feel bad for (there’s a reason why I generally just privately save things). So if you’re seeing this because I spam reblogged you and you wondered who in the world was crowding your notifs with tags, I’m sorry. I also try not to crawl out of the tags too much, though, just do so if they don’t fit my rambles (oops....)

I try and lessen the blow by slapping most everything on the queue (but I don’t tag what I queue, let there be CHAOS), so maybe that helps a bit?

That said, I DO love tags, so feel free to spam reblog whatever you want from here and comment-tag as much as you want...I LOVE seeing people say stuff (whether I agree or not, this IS just for fun). I don’t usually use the comment/reply section or the like button because I don’t actually do anything in my main blog (I just work off sideblogs, heh), so I’ll likely abuse the reblog button a lot or just hope my vibes of appreciation are psychically felt.

I'm reminded why I don't try to engage with any of y'all with any kind of genuine interest. It's because y'all are no different than any other online social movement. Dishonest. So let me make myself abundantly clear since @blkwmn and others want to continue to pretend like I was saying something I wasn't.

1) I was not saying that the dehumanization of young black girls and women is an a about all women, I'm saying that most women who use the non-binary identity are trying to 'reclaim their personhood' from their oppression, and I do understand that racism as an additional layer of dehumanization that pushes, and influences young black people to transition.

2) I hold all women accountable for the actions they do that her other women, which is a feminist principle. We should all be criticizing individualistic actions that cause damage to the communities we say we represent and care for. It's why I talked to the bimbo community about their choices, it's why I talked to Tifs, but it's why I talked to misogynistic lesbians about their actions. Because part of my duty as a feminist is to approach these topics with them and explain the damages they did.

3) Women of color have a unique relationship with racism. I'll never once denied this, I never once so that lesbians relationship to misogyny is exactly the same as theirs. I've said it multiple times, though they like to ignore it, that it was to show that I'm being ideologically consistent, that was the only point to it because we have a similar, not same, negative stereotype about us.

4) And this one I know she's being particularly dishonest about because she deleted my response, you should hold white women accountable for racism. There's no amount of minority groups a white woman can possess that excuses her racism or should shield her from our criticism of it. I don't think you even have to be particularly nice to them, because racism is obviously known to be bad in this day and age and there is no excuse. Where I understand that we need to have some compassion for the trans identified lot because of the social pressures they're under. I don't know why she thinks that my opinion would change there with my entire point this entire time is being that I will remain ideologically consistent. But it's most likely because she doesnt have anything she could screenshot that shows me being actually racist. This is a little more than a smear campaign.

If we all agreed that black women have a unique relationship to misogyny, and that you should be compassionate to the NBs that you're trying to talk to, the only disagreement I thought we had was that you should excuse this behavior and give them a "pass". If that's not the case you're a purposely defaming my character for literally nothing. I'm not being racist. I was literally saying that I cannot turn a blind eye to an entire demographic of women just so they don't have to hear the exact same feminist criticism I give other tifs.

Like I said, you're no different than any other political movement on here, disingenuous and just trying to cause drama for the clout.

It was a misinterpretation that multiple people came to the same conclusion of me as. Maybe you should write your post better, because a number of us misinterpreted it. I am in complete agreeance that we should talk about the push that racism has to get black women do not identify as women. I never a disagreed with any of that parts of those posts and I made sure to say so multiple places in my original post. I also preemptively apologize in my first posts tags in case I did misinterpret it stating that I was only replying to the interpretation that this meant that we need to let them continue this behavior.

I will try better in the future to ask before making assumptions on a topic but to continue to perpetuate the idea that my issue was anything to do with the actual context of the post when you know I misinterpreted it is disingenuous. This isn't coming from a place of racism, that's just your only defense against a perfectly fine critique of giving women a pass because of a minority status, which wasn't the point of your post. Why are you so mad I disagree with something you weren't saying when I do you agree with everything you were? It doesn't make any sense.

The least you could do is quit lying on my name. It's pathetic to continue to paint my intentions as anything other than what I explicitly said they were. If you actually had a fucking leg to stand on here you wouldn't have deleted my response that told you, yeah I expect you to hold everyone to the standard I'm holding every women to.

We should call out problematic behaviors in women. I stand by that, because that's how political/feminist critique gets out. I don't care, if you need to paint me as a racist, rather than a person who simply misinterpreted the intention of your post, then do what you want. I just think it shows more about your character than it does mine.

This is the last thing I'm doing in regards to this. I dealt with the absolute TRA level tactics all day yesterday and I'm not going to have a bunch of people personally insult me because I misinterpreted a post I apologized about the first time I reblogged it. Anything you pretend I'm saying that hasn't been explicitly stated by me you can honestly shove up your ass, I don't care. I'm disappointed this community has just as little principle and can't approach topics and (perceived) disagreements with honesty and instead have to make up fake narratives so that they can seem objectively right. It's pathetic.

“System” is a Medical Term

…And Other Things the “Empowered Multiples” Movement Hid From Us

Introduction

Hello again, guys, Remy here, kind of. More or less.

This is something I’ve been meaning to talk about for a while, because it’s something absolutely no one in the online system/plural/etc community is talking about. Either because they want to ignore it because it makes them look bad, or because they legitimately just never knew that this had happened at all, likely because it was before their time as systems online. But I’m here to talk about it, because this is something that can explain so many things about why the system/plural communities online are the way they are today; damaged and filled with infighting and constant confusion.

Who Were The “Empowered Multiples”, and Why Does No One Talk About Them?

The “Empowered Multiples”.

That’s an identity label that should fill everyone but the most anti-DID, anti-psych, anti-recovery ableists with the most dread.

If you want a long, detailed and heavily sourced history of what the “empowered multiples” did to the online multiple/DID communities specifically, you can read this post here.

To make a very long story short, the “empowered multiples” was a movement started by Astrea’s Web and Dark Personalities that advocated for the abolition of DID/MPD as diagnostic labels and wanted them removed from the DSM, and displayed blatant superiority over those who still accepted or identified with DID/MPD for themselves, and that’s only a very small idea of what they did. They encouraged people to write them essays on why DID/MPD was a bad label, which they would both post on their websites, encouraged people to boycott the diagnosis, told people to refuse to identify with it it even if they were already diagnosed with it, tried to convince people that it was “natural” to have DID/MPD, including inherently pathological DID/MPD symptoms like time loss, as well as encouraged the idea that anyone was plural if they saw themselves that way and rejected the idea of DID/MPD.

They also deliberately muddied the definition of terms like “system”—which was originally a medical/clinical term coined with DID in mind only, originally referring to a “parts as a system” as it were—and “multiplicity”—also only associated with DID/MPD up until the “empowered multiples” movement, as MPD (when that was still the primary term used) was often referred to as things such as “multiplicity”, “being multiple”, the “multiple gift”, and more. They changed the definitions of these words to better suit their narrative, to co-opt language that was not for them in order to both boycott DID as a diagnosis, and to still use language that they were comfortable with at the same time, so they didn’t have to change that much about the language used to describe their experiences.

In the process, and this was very likely 100% intentional, they changed the way a lot of people see the word “system”, now referring to any instance of multiple consciousnesses in one body, rather than a specific experience of “parts as a system”, which inevitably lead to the constant confusion and conflation of experiences, as well as the erasure of DID as a system experience, as this has directly lead to some people knowing about systems as a concept, but not about DID, or having very skewed perceptions of DID, things I have witnessed firsthand in the online communities.

Now, I generally use past-tense when talking about the “empowered multiples”, but it should be important to note that on some level, they do still exist within the plural communities, they’re just not nearly as prominent as they used to be, however, that’s purely in identifying with the term itself. The rhetoric of the “empowered multiples” is still quite rampant in a lot of ways, such as in the anti-psych sentiments of many parts of the plural communities, as well as even the “nondisordered plural supremacy” sentiments that many of them spread, with the implication that people with DIDOSDD1 are lesser for being so, or less “plural”/systems as it were, which all goes to display many of the ways that the “empowered multiples” still have an effect on the communities, whether they’re as prominent as they used to be or not.

How Did This Damage the Online Communities?

This damaged the online communities by constantly having dissociative trauma-based system experiences conflated with non-dissociative, non-trauma based experiences, and while there may seem to be a lot of similar experiences between the two on the surface, at the core, they have extremely different needs. In DID, integration/fusion, (not even final fusion/full integration), is often times necessary for survival and healing, and helps to give a more complete sense of self and personal history, whereas in plural communities, it’s often seen as an extremely negative thing on par with death. This alone shows that the communities are very different and have extremely different needs, meaning that the two cannot be conflated or treated the same at all, and yet this behavior of treating DID the exact same as a non-DID experience persists, simply because they are both called “systems”, when plurals, going by the original definition of the word “system” given above, are nothing like systems.

To clarify, I’m not saying endogenic plurals are not real, I’m saying that by the original definition(s) of the word “system”, and taking the history of the word “system” into account and who the word was coined for, endogenic plurals are not systems, because they don’t consider themselves parts, and because they are not parts neurologically. They’re plurals. In fact, “plural” as a term was actually coined as a non-DID alternative to “multiplicity” in the first place, which already makes it a great substitute for the word “system”. The reason that DID systems are systems, even if they don’t consider themselves “parts” is because no matter what, DID alters are, neurologically and structurally, parts of a shattered consciousness that broke apart to survive repetitive childhood trauma. This is something that has been proven time and time again, and even if certain systems are uncomfortable with this notion, that doesn’t change what the science says about DID neurologically and structurally.

But endogenic plurals are nothing like this, because they don’t have any substantial scientific evidence for their existence, let alone for what their headmates are neurologically, (no offense or judgement meant by this). So, going by this historical definition, endogenics are not systems, they’re simply plural. (Hah)

Is this a bad thing? No.

I also don’t think it’s inherently anyone’s fault for not knowing this, considering this is something that was pretty much deliberately covered up and forgotten about by most of the plural community, considering, well, if this were part of a community I were in, I’d also be pretty humiliated and offended by these people’s behavior, and would just want to move on. However, this is an extremely important part of the history of the plural community, and I haven’t seen people talking about it very much, if at all, and that needs to change if we ever want to start to fix the community going forewords.

How Can We Fix It?

The best we can do to even start fixing the community is to stop conflating endogenic plural experiences with the experiences of DIDOSDD1 systems.

Full stop.

The two experiences are far too different and have far too different needs to comfortably conflate the two under the same umbrella, using the same language, because someone with DID is never going to have the same experience as an endogenic plural simply because DID is severely dissociative and traumagenic, and endogenic plurality (or any non-DID plurality) is, by definition, not. DIDOSDD1 does not belong under the “plural umbrella”, because going by the historical use of the word “plural”, we aren’t plural. We’re systems, or multiple.

Using the same language implies that the two experiences are the same, when they are not. If you want to look more into the differences between DID and endogenic plurality, I suggest looking under the #endos vs. DID tag I have on my blog, which goes a bit more in-depth in this subject.

Is Separating the Experiences Necessary for Community Healing?

Separating the experiences via encouraging the use of separate language? Yes.

Separating the communities entirely? Well, that doesn’t have to be the case. It’s not like I could control people in the first place, so saying ‘yes’ would be useless.

Shared spaces aren’t inherently bad when they’re not using the same language to describe two extremely different experiences, implying they’re both the exact same just with a different origin, when that is very, very obviously not the case, verifiably so.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the “Empowered Multiples” movement did a massive amount of damage, more than I can put in one short post, which is why I linked the post I got my information from, which has dozens upon dozens of sources and links to archives of these sources, as well as screenshots and image descriptions for them, so you can read the original post and make your own conclusions based on the information at hand, (however OP explicitly asks for no syscourse on their post, so please respect their boundaries).

The “Empowered Multiples” movement did a lot in the way of conflating and confusing two extremely different experiences, taking language from the earlier DIDOSDD communities and it wasn’t even that long ago, either. The movement was only really brought to its knees when “The Haunted Self” came out in /2014/, presenting the Theory of Structural Dissociation, and just two years before that, 2012 was when the discourse surrounding the “Empowered Multiples” was at its peak. The damage that this movement did is still very, very prevalent in the community in the anti-psych fearmongering rhetoric a lot of plurals (and even DIDOSDD systems) spout, in that “fusion is murder” or the implication that all alters have to be extremely separate all the time or sentiments of “getting diagnosed will make you lose ALL your rights” in the form of long, severely misinformed and frankly bullshit twitter threads, and we can’t forget the outright ableism of being considered “disordered” that many plurals peddle—all of these things are remnants of the damage that Astrea’s Web, Dark Personalities and the “Empowered Multiples” movement have left us with.

These are the parts of plural history that people don’t want to talk about, which only makes these things more important to talk about now more than ever, if we ever want to change it and if we are ever going to make progress within the communities to stop the infighting.

If you want to make a change, we need to open a dialogue on this damage so that we can heal it.

It's come to my attention there's a few posts circulating around about me. I'd really appreciate it if people took the time to read this before blindly believing unsubstantiated claims made against me by people who were mad at me in the past for unrelated issues.

First, I admit I was wrong to post hate in the tags. I am sorry, and I shouldn't have done that. I removed the tag a while ago, but I should have made the apology beforehand. Again, I should not have done that, I will not do it in the future, and I'm sorry.

Now, onto the posts. These are just two of them.

Again, my inbox and DMs are open if anyone has any questions or wants any more clarification. I'm more than happy to explain anything I've said in further detail, or to answer any questions.

I'd like to make it clear that i'm by no means "playing the victim", nor did I ever make an "insensitive joke". Nothing I said was a joke. I'm more than willing to share screenshots (see below the cut) of what happened and elaborate on my opinions so that people can draw their own conclusions, and I will at the end of this post.

What I said was that Shinguuji was never canonically abused and that I was uncomfortable with the implication Miu is into incest. i respect that people have different opinions and interpretations of his character, but it's shitty to equate me saying i'm uncomfortable with the implication that miu is ALSO into incest by comparing her with korekiyo with me supporting it.

i'd heavily suggest people re-read his free time events. Again, Korekiyo was at no point canonically abused. It's not me "being shitty" or "playing the victim" to say that. I've posted a longer explanation here.

Again, I'm not saying any conflicting interpretations are bad. We really don't have a whole lot of evidence either way! However, it's wrong to act like he was canonically abused by his sister and to force that perception onto others and delete the takes you disagree with.

WRT the kink thing: Kinks do not have to be moral or healthy. The word is a neutral descriptor for something someone is into. There are plenty of immoral kinks, and plenty of kinks that are EXTREMELY unhealthy to feed into. Korekiyo is into incest. That is a fact. It is not a moral kink. In fact, it is disgusting and genuinely reprehensible. It's something that needs professional help. I do not condone it by any means. I do not support it. However, that does not stop it from being a kink. I also never "equat[ed] his abuse with a kink" because again, I don't think he was canonically abused to the fanon degree. (Which, again, is not backed up in canon. While the interpretation is valid, I was discussing specifically canon.)

Also, I do not "cancel people for no reason". I'd love to see an example of that, as I try to back up any claims I make with sources and explanations so there is no confusion. However, I assume OP is referring to my H/ttey post. That was made to raise awareness of the bigotry in his art that he refused repeatedly to correct. Unlike these posts, there were screenshots and links to back up what I said.

I am not a bully, and i am always open to feedback on my actions and on how to improve. I'll drop all the screenshots I have here at the end of the section under the cut and people can make up their own minds.
