HELLO and welcome to the dev blog for Limited Edition!, an SCP Foundation visual novel revolving around Wondertainment and the Little Misters!

This is a project that has been in motion for a few years and this whole thing is my attempt to document and answer questions about it (and post Misters and gamedev stuff in general). We have a dedicated tag for the game as well: #scp limited edition !

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (and stuff that's important to know):

What's this whole thing even about? Follow Mr. Mad on his adventure with the other Little Misters to the Wonderworks as they try to regroup, find Mr. Collector, and try to survive the looming threat that hangs above them all.

Is there anyone else working on this, or just you? It's a one-man show here! The only other person involved is my pal Ant, whose job is to just be subject to all my rambling. I'm currently looking for a musician to help with the soundtrack, though! I may also be on the look-out for programmers familiar with Ren'Py in the future if my own attempts don't work out.

When will it be done/come out? I don't actually know; as much as this project is my baby, I can't prioritize it over my real life. I'm a college student training for a career in archaeology, and that takes a LOT of time and effort!

Will we get regular updates? Not exactly. Even though I've tried to do that in the past, these days I can't really afford to dedicate enough time to Limited Edition to produce tangible, presentable results every single week. I post when I can, but a concrete update schedule is just too stressful.

How long will Limited Edition be? Preferably 3-4 hours at the minimum.

Will the new Little Misters like Barista be in Limited Edition? Nope! We're focusing entirely on the original 20. Limited Edition will at the very least serve as a through-line story for all of them.

Will you make other games? Hopefully. Again, I'm a real person with a real life, and this game is already taking a lot out of me, so I can't promise much. However, I'd love to make more games after this one.

What's your favorite SCP? SCP-049, on account for being responsible for transing my gender.

SCP Tournament… 2!

Accepting submissions immediately:

Now that things have calmed down (both in blog and life), I think it's time for the foundation to run the second tournament. We ran out of numbers to crunch and organize, so now the foundation has come back to organize more chaos to later fix.

As voted on by test subjects the people, this bracket with be the same set up as the previous, with the exception to not allow any contestants that made it above round 2. A full list of banned contestants can be found below the read more. There are no other limitations, so normal SCPs, tales, and stories from international brackets are all allowed. Go wild. Find the most obscure stories to share. Find the most controversial. The most confusing narrative. The more the merrier.

Submission period will be open for approximately 2 weeks and a day, ending on the 18th. This date may change depending on the rate of submissions. Assuming all goes smoothly, round 1 (or qualifiers) will begin on the 22nd.

Let the chaos begin again.

An introduction of the re variety.

Greetings and salutations! So a lot of this will be old news to people but I've had a bit of personal growth and what was an old introduction post doesn't reflect how I feel as a person much any longer. So I am making this updated version (the old one will still be kicking around just not pinned).

So once again hello! My (pen)name is Maxwell Alabaster(he/him), Max or Maxwell is fine!

Not including the RP stuff I used to do on forum back in the early aughts, I've been hobby writing for about a year and some now. It started as a private personal thing to keep my mind occupied while I was between jobs but at some point I decided I wanted to share my stuff with people! So I did just that and made this here blog.

I would still consider myself an amateur writer, not to deflect but to acknowledge that I have room to improve. Also I am hungry for engagement (brain likes seeing the notification number go bigger) so please don't feel like you can't leave little comments or reblog. I don't have aspirations of hitting it big or publication, but, interaction is still nice and I can only share my stuff so far.

What I post on here are the first drafts of my two larger WIPS and one off stuff. I've tried my best to have all these things in their own linked pages! My style or genre usually falls under the horror or darker side of things, I'm an edgy bitch what can I say. Mostly though I just tend to write off the vibe I'm feeling for a particular one off. I don't think my stuff is particularly spine tingling but hey some people have different tolerances.

Rituals and Red Tape : Slice of life/dark fantasy story told from the first person perspective of Alex, manager of the auditing department. Set in a dream like world crafted by an enigmatic group of outer beings known as The Board. Their main duties are to stop problems before they happen that break the rules of reality, or, fix the problems if they are too late.

Abnormal Analytics Company Communications : Found footage/document style story. Very heavily inspired by things like the SCP foundation and minorly inspired by content surrounding what is known as the 411 phenomenon. This story, or rather each “case”, is experienced via the messages and emails between members of some kind of research organization. While these is no main POV character it can be assumed that most of this information is viewed through a single terminal. 

I also have a WattPad where I post the edited version of Rituals and Red Tape (if you want a more coherent and better quality version) and also the logs of AACC.

Edit 9-7: I guess I've also started doing voice work lol. I'll work on getting a section made for just the audio works at some point! I'm still learning the craft and editing stuff but it's been a passion of mine for a while and I hope to make it a more regular thing! If you think my voice would be good for your things hit me up! I can promise I will try my best =P

I am also very open to asks about my stuff, being included in tag games, and stuff like that. I can be a little slow to respond due to my limited time but I make an effort to get to things when I can! Heck even if you want to just send a random ask, I'm down for that too.

I can't really say I'm excited to get to know people since I've already been here for a while lol. Also this blog can be very messy as I enjoy a wide swath of things. But yeah, check out my stuff, leave me words on those things (good or bad but above all helpful) and enjoy I guess?

A type blue is someone who is a thaumatologist or magic user, though it can also be considered someone who learned to bend reality or someone that can bend, but not completely break reality

A type green is just the standard term for reality benders, though their power is usually still limited to some degree, such as being unable to see the future or having a limited range

A type black is the strongest type of reality bender, which are so strong they are similar to gods, usually lacking the limits type greens have

Though, keep in mind, the SCP universe has no true canon, so these colors could mean quite literally anything, but these are some of the most common uses and what I had in mind while making those terms. — @eparchclass

Horror Night 02/03

Hey guys! Tomorrow is horror night again! I know I have some new followers so this is basically how it works!

Here’s my color system:

Purple - Tame, no triggers. This would be ghost stories in the woods. Blue - Mild triggers but still fairly tame. This is consensual monsterfucker porn. Green - Mild triggers, less tame. Violence may be featured, but it’s not a center. Yellow - Average triggers. Violence can be the center. This would be dubcon, your more hardcore kinks, slasher style stuff, the works. Orange - This color just exists for stuff that’s not awful, but not tame enough for yellow. Red - Hardcore triggers. This is for severe explicit violence and gore, noncon, psychological fuckery.   Examples: Purple: Ruby Gloom Blue: Goosebumps Green: You (TV Show), Friday the 13th Yellow: IT Orange: Saw Red: Human Centipede

when one hears the term Tulpa, one immediately is brought to the concept of an imaginary friend or sleep paralysis demons, creatures formed from belief, this is not the context in which we at ADSO (the Anomaly Documentation and Study Organization) use this word. we here at ADSO are similar in concept to the (entirely fictional) SCP Foundation, however due to certain limitations, we are unable to contain anomalies, instead we document them such that the public becomes aware and safe such that they can protect themselves. (In hindsight our organizational structure is more like that of The Serpent's Hand)

Our motto, fittingly enough is this:

anyways. Back to the topic of tulpas (pulls out old binder with yellowing pages). See, when tragedy of some sort strikes, and enough grief or similar emotions, it can, warp reality and create a substance called ichor. this stuff can surround and absorb humans or other creatures, very, VERY rarely can the emotions of only one creature create a tulpa, a tulpa has a body made entirely of ichor, resulting in most parts of the body absorbing all light and appearing pitch black, all tulpas share a few common characteristics, namely:

-They all have empty eye sockets with yellow irises and large pupils, save for those that don't have visible eyes.

-The body of a tulpa will, without fail, warp in order to reflect the circumstances of creation.

-Most tulpas have no lower limbs, but instead their bodies fade into a pool of ichor on the ground, as if they were melting or dissolving, (the tulpa known as "The Taker" is a notable exception, given that it has fully developed legs).

-tulpas due to not being fully physical are capable of de-manifesting and remanifesting (with limitations varying).

UO-120: ‘Paradox Genes’

Description:

UO-120 otherwise known as the Paradox Genes, appear to be normal human genes in appearance but have a distinct difference, their colour. They are divided into 2 types, UO-120-A and UO-120-B, UO-120-A are called the ‘Scarlet Genes’ while UO-120-B are called ‘Violet Genes’, they’re called this way due to their colour. But they are quite similar to one another, they are dormant genes which will only act under these circumstances:

The host (dubbed, UO-120-A1 to A8 or UO-120-B1 to B8) must have experienced a certain high level of adrenaline

They must be of age above 15 years old

Depending on the gene, they must be exposed to either harsh sunlight or areas with high amounts of uncontained electricity

Once the conditions are met, the process is divided into 4 stages:

Stage 1 ‘Urges’: Depending on the host, they were either have a strong urge to enter harsh sunlight or high amounts of electricity

Stage 2 ‘Discomfort’: After a month or so, the urges stop but the hosts will feel some physical discomfort around their body

Stage 3 ‘Nightmare’: After 2 weeks, the discomfort will stop but they will be targeted with weird and horrifying nightmares, attempts to figure out what these nightmares are have met with failure

Stage 4: ‘Transformation’: After a week, the nightmares stop but once a certain time of day is hit, the genes will override the host causing them to be turned into nothing more than beasts of the past or future

The transformation is described to be extremely painful and that a ‘second’ personality dubbed UO-120-Alpha will take control and that the host will fight for control against it.

Incident-120:

The dex holders have calmed down and I’ve been told to help Experimented (aka Valiance) to make a containment site beforehand. Turns out, their levels earlier are in between 100-300, far exceeding the limit, however, it seems that they are all reduced to about lvl 60 or so as they are hit by the suppressants, my guess is that above lvl 100 allows UO-120-Alpha to take control of them, Valiance offered to train them and get used to the transformation and movement and see how to use moves.

In their human form, they are to use 10% of their full strength in moves, hybrid form is when they have a bit of appearance from their paradox forms and can use 50% of their strength, paradox form is when they fully morph and are able to use 100% of their strength. Don’t worry about clothes since for some reason, when they turn back they appear to be wearing their clothes although it’s later realized that they’re clothes are made from their own DNA. Currently, the Paradox Dex Holders spar against Experimented Wally (I mean Valiance) mainly to keep their strength in check
