from New Scientist magazine: Honeyguide birds respond to special calls from human honey-hunters
Excerpt: "People from multiple cultures in Africa have unique sounds [my note: later described in the text as "bird-like whistles" of the Hadza honey-hunters, and "trill-grunts" of the Yao honey-hunters] that they use to communicate with honeyguide birds, and the birds recognise these signals as an invitation to cooperate.
"Greater honeyguides (Indicator indicator) lead humans to bees’ nests so that honey-hunters will break them open. While the humans collect the honey, the birds feast on beeswax and larvae."
The full research article, written by Claire Spottiswoode and Brian Wood, Culturally determined interspecies communication between humans and honeyguides, was published in Volume 382, Issue 6675 of Science.
[By the way, the Honeyguide has a fantastic taxonomic name: "Indicator indicator."]

oceanic whitetip? or perhaps, a chain catshark?
(i have done ocean white tip, but if u want more facts pls lmk 💗💗💗)
DYK…
Tumblr media
chain catshark can grow up to 59 cm long. they are shy and nocturnal and often hide in crevices. they spend their day resting at the bottom using the sandy bottom to camouflage its spotted back. at night, when they are active, chain catsharks feed on squid, bony fish, crustaceans and bristle worms.
chain catshark is a small, reticulated catshark that is biofluorescent. the species is common in the Northwest Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean. it is harmless and rarely encountered by humans. it has very similar reproductive traits to the small-spotted catshark.
chain catshark are considered mature when they have a fully developed nidamental gland or shell gland. this is marked by the glands growth to 1.8 cm (0.7 in) or more in width. sexual maturity in the female is seen at 52 centimeters (1.71 ft) in length under normal conditions.

College alien baby boom party 🥳🤰🤱
In an unknown college there were an interesting science project running recently. The main goal was to research breeding capabilities between humans and friendly alien species.
According to the acquired informations, the project was classified, but some notes revealed, that 5-5 alien and humanoid males impregnated 5 alien females but there was only one human college girl who volunteered to the project, in order to finish her studies in alien reproductive sciences.
Her codename was Veronica. All alone she wanted to experience the childbearing and birthing procedures, having an alien conceived in her womb. On this short footage we can examine her on a "birthing party night" when the human males impregnated their alien partners. Since Veronica was the only human female, she had 5 accelerated pregnancies that night, in order to conclude the phase of the experiment.
Now she's giving birth to a monster-like small alien creature after a rapid pregnancy period (lasted 10 minutes). The father (in a black shirt) helping her through this exciting moment. Also his fellow alien female sister is there as sidekick. She is pregnant from a humanoid counterpart, but the pregnancy growth didn't began yet.
Veronica is pushing with moderate force her little alien monster out, trying to save as much power later as possible. Tonight this is her 3rd childbirth. This was amongst the easier ones so far, including one egg laying. The last two pregnancies will be a bit difficult, rather dangerous as the fourth pregnancy is expected to result the uneasy birth of a 12 kilograms heavy alien baby, and the last one is going to be a bloody, belly bursting alien fetus.
Of course they are prepared to intervene any moment if the situation goes critical, but due the presence and the knowledge of the aliens taking part of the experiment the risk is minimal.
Meanwhile Veronica already have some changes in her body: her vagina and clitoris got well-trained, her womb is capable to conceive from various alien races, her genes got modified, so her lifespan extended. She'll surely get her diploma afterwards.

Research log 1: Adolescent Linguistics
After communicating with 3 teens between the ages of 10-18 I have discovered the following facts:
-Beholders have a certain effect on the size and classification of one’s rear.
-All 3 test subjects attempted to deceive me into believing they posses time travel capabilities because all three stated to intimately know my mother.
-The oldest one of the subjects attempted initiating a romantic connection after calling me “dummy thick” which resulted in a minor, non lethal injury of the subject.

SCIENTIFIC STUDY:
I’m doing a survey/study out for curiosity for the question:
This survey is not meant to offend anyone and is for scientific purposes. Remember that trans, non-binary, and those who are not on the gender spectrum are valid!

Huh. I just learned something from that goggle challenge video (aside from the fact that he is a brat, 😅 which we already knew):

Max is right handed but left footed.
Tumblr media
In this meta-analysis of 145,135 individuals across 164 studies, they found: As many as 60.1% of left-handers were left-footed whereas only 3.2% of right-handers were left-footed […] and left-footedness was increased in athletes compared to the general population.
