can we PLEASE destigmatize paranoia and paranoid delusions? Cuz like, its pretty obvious that non-psychotics don't take us seriously. Just because I think there's someone in my vents or that people are conspiring against me doesnt mean I'm crazy! Stop putting us in the trope of "crazy delusional person"! Our mental health and neurodivergence is NOT you gag, or joke, or silly character trait!! Its something VERY REAL that we have to live with EVERY DAY!! Could you imagine living in constant fear, not even being able to trust those close to you? Not even being able to trust your own FAMILY? I mean, can't y'all have just a SLIVER of empathy for us?

Hey doordash drivers, hey instacart drivers, hey any voluntary delivery driver for an app, I have some news for you. Disabled people who cannot get their groceries on their own very rarely have extra money to tip, especially with all the extra fees and delivery charges they need to pay to just eat. They will tip you if they can, they literally cannot sometimes and that isn't their fault. They still deserve their groceries. They still deserve their food. They still deserve help. If you're voluntarily driving for an app when you can easily get another job and you're complaining about the people who literally cannot get a job, or go outside, or drive, or see needing to get their food no matter how little they have, you should think about who really needs this more. They have no other option when they don't have help. They have no other option when they can't do it themselves. If you're voluntarily doing this job, and blaming the people giving you the orders that you already get paid for anyway, just because they literally do not have the money does not mean they aren't deserving. That they're doing it on purpose. That they're taking advantage of you. That they're doing it maliciously. You need to understand some people have no other option even if you do. Be more considerate. You have no idea what people are going through mentally, physically, financially, medically. Everyone deserves food. Everyone deserves help. Everyone deserves comfort. Even if they can't spend another 5/6 dollars of their limited disability funds. Sometimes it's not about you. Sometimes people aren't after you. Sometimes people aren't trying to hurt you, but trying to survive themselves.

This is Lain Iwakura from Serial Experiments Lain! (submission request)
TW: Suicide, Psycosis
Lain is shown to experience psychosis throughout the series. The events of the series follow our protagonist after receiving an email that one of her classmates had committed suicide. The series follows many themes of trauma from this. She is heavily implied to have SPD (schizoid personality disorder)
Negative stereotypes?
None! While the show does somewhat follow the "psychotic killer" stereotype, she is considered an icon among both fans of the series and those who experience similar symptoms.
NOTE: I have not completed this series. I have done my best to piece together the general plot, but there may be misinformation. If i come across any vital informatoin i will take down and rewrite this post. Thank you for your kindness

I’m curious how long other people experience their delusions, as ours tend to be very quickly over.
If you have delusions of different lengths, answer the one you experience most often.

hi y’all I was recently diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and am looking for support/other ppl to talk to with this same diagnosis. I’m having a really hard week and wanted to randomly reach out on a more personal level as I try to navigate this new diagnosis. I’m having a hard time this week and though maybe it would be a good idea to reach out to some community or other people in general who could relate? Idk I might delete this but just wanted to share in case someone else out there might be going through the same thing and could give me some sense of hope or make me feel less alone idk

"I wanna reincarnate!" cried my 19-year-old client, a girl who battles with schizotypal disorder, psychosis, and Bipolar Stage 1. She was crying uncontrollably due to feeling she was ugly. After a suicide attempt, she now faces lifelong disability. Every day is a challenge, and she's lost her will to live. Through her tears, she reached out to me and pleaded, "Help me," hugging me tightly. I embraced her, tears forming in my eyes. Her pain was palpable, and I felt sorry for her. I could only imagine the intensity of her struggle.
But is the next life guaranteed to be better? Life is difficult, yet nothing can compare to what she and her parents are going through. Sometimes, I feel bad by the fact that they pay for my services. It weighs on me, even though I need to take care of myself and cover my expenses. Nonetheless, facing my patients is a challenge. Each child and their parents endure immense suffering.

I just want non phycotic people to understand that my dulusions and hallucinations are very real to me. Yes, it may all be in my head, but i have to live with it every day. This is my normal.
I can physically interact with these things, I can hear them, see them, smell them, taste them, and they can hurt me. I've experienced physical pain from hallucinations, and I've made horrible decisions for reasons i couldn't explain to people who've never experienced long-term phycosis. I feel so cut off from everyone around me, and antiphycotics have somehow made it worse, i feel like im just supposed to pretend that the past decade didn't happen and like i don't still occasionally experience that part of me.

Not A System
This has taken a lot to come to understand, I have Schizoaffective Bipolar. This meaning that I have similar traits that on first glance may appear as DID however with research and a better understanding, it is not. Very similarly I have parts, these parts are all individuals with names, traits, likes, dislikes, opinions, feelings, personalities, though not as indepth and complex enough to make a solid being. More surface level info. Together we make up a whole. This meaning we may have differing opinions but they are for the most part the same after discussing. We pretty much agree and think in similar ways, not entirely but very close. They are all aspects of one being just separated to better understand ourselves and emotions, a way to help cope at times. Enough that we are separate beings and can discuss but if one of us has a very strong feeling we all pretty much agree and feel it too. We are all able to talk and I do want to encourage still seeing them as individuals and people but please just keep in mind they are by technicality hallucinations, not alters, we have discussed it and theyve known for a while so its not offensive to say as such. I love and care about them all and would like to continue speaking about them openly. Its been a confusing journey to get here because they are extremely real to me and thats why for so long I believed I was in fact a system but it does feel very cathartic to know really what’s going on and what Im experiencing is normal for me. I hope everyone can understand I never intended to fake or appropriate a disorder I do not have but was confused and am happy as I am knowing what I know now.
They cannot front but can very strongly influence. And will have a conversation or talk if asked. We also do have an inner world. It is not exclusive to DID and is actually very common for most people to have! Ours is currently an old english port town.

I just realized i can ask on here: any writing tips for characters with psychosis?
Rambles/ context/ art of her after break because im very long winded
I could just talk to irl friend/s but im too shy and this will have better reach anyways.
I have an OC with psychosis (schizoaffective disorder) and id like tips for writing her respectfully and accurately as possible.
I tried for awhile to find resources online but most “how to write characters with psychosis” is specific to horror media which… what?
Anyway, Charlotte was my first OC which was originally made in middle school. So obviously shes gone through a lot of rewrites as i got better with writing and better understood myself and the world around me. Originally she just had undefined mental illness since at the time i had a very vague understanding of it at the time due to being like 12.
Heres a recent drawing of her (she/ they btw). I will field some questions about her please interact with me what who said that?
