“Patrick?”

“David! I’m drunk!”

“Okay?”

“Don’ worry. Ted’s drivin’.”

“W-why are you drunk with Ted?”

“We won baseball. So. Drinks!”

David grins. “I see. Why are you calling me, though?”

Patrick’s voice goes soft. “I’m glad I got the money.”

“Me too, Patrick.”

“I ...”

“Yeah?”

“I was thinkin’ ‘bout how you’re like a crazy jungle flower?

David breathes, “Why?”

“Beautiful. Rare. Amazing.”

David whispers, “Thank you.”

Patrick sighs. “We won baseball an’ my business person is beautiful. I feel sooo lucky.”

David closes his eyes as hope blooms. “Me too, Patrick.”

First Line Last line

I was tagged by @chelle-68 and @likerealpeopledo-on-ao3 Thank you! Happy to be able to participate without giving spoilers for my current fic! So this is my last five fics, first line and last line, no context!

I really haven't been writing as much this year considering 5 fics ago was y Christmas fic! (stupid work)

Christmas Drinks

Patrick leant on the counter and put his head into his hands, staring out at the snow coming down.

Then they turned to face their family, together.

2. Necessary Approvals

“So, you invited him?” Stevie asked, cocking an eyebrow in his direction.

“David, you need to keep this one. I like him.”

3. Butterflies

It had been three days since Patrick had kissed David.

Stupid butterflies. 

4. The Seven

Lust- The first time David saw him, David wanted him.

Nothing before this moment had been as important as the chance he was about to take.

“So,” Ronnie pondered, regarding the chess board warily.

She planned on protecting it.

Is your fic actually about conversion therapy? 😢😟

None of the people in the fic go through conversion therapy. There is a character in the past who has gone through it and finding out about it and the repercussions of it, changes people in the fic.

There is discussion of the repercussions (tw: past suicide). But the idea in my head was that David helping Patrick to discover himself was like a conversion therapy of its own. A conversation away from the self hating and dangerous ideals of the church.

So no. It isn't about conversation therapy, but it does discuss the practice- never in a positive way.

I hope this helps. It's not always an easy fic, but I don't think it's that dark? It's got positive outcomes for everyone we love.
