My brother is the glass child. I don’t know how to say I’m sorry. I don’t know if he even wants me to. I feel bad, but he doesn’t like seriousness, he makes everything into a joke. So I don’t get the chance.

It can be so difficult sometimes when we want/ feel like we need to apologise to someone but they tend to not take things seriously, making it even harder to make an apology as you are not sure if they even acknowledge the apology or take it on board.

It’s so important to know that we can never control another person or how they act or react to things we say or what happens around/ to them in general. Due to this sometimes we just have to make that apology, hope they take it on board and forgive us and then somehow find a way within ourselves to let it go.

If your brother tends to make everything into a joke, then perhaps if you need to apologise to him, you could write it down in say a txt message or in a letter format. Include in it what you are apologising for, why you feel like you need to apologies and just say sorry to him. By doing this, your brother can’t turn it into a joke like he may if you were to apologise to him face-to-face, but instead he can take the apology in at his own pace and choose either to reply or talk to you about it or just let it be. At least then at the very least, you have said what you needed to say to him and this will hopefully leave you feeling a bit better. Remember that not all apologies need a response as such, sometimes it’s just the needing to say “I’m sorry” that helps you to move on from whatever you did wrong.

As much as I want to be a wholly joyous about the fact that Henry Kissinger is finally fucking dead, as he deserves... There's a lot of me that can't help being upset with. With the fact that he lived to 100 years old. He got better medical care, better housing, and a better, more stable life for those 100 years than billions on this planet ever going to see and he did it specifically through exploitation, state sanctioned murder, and lies. He lived to 100 years comfortably on a legacy of violence that rarely threatened his personal comfort. I want to be joyous that he's finally dead, because the world IS better with him dead, but the reality is he won a long time ago.
