Here's an idea: the rest of the Pearl Clan reacting to Sawsbuck Ingo's drastic seasonal changes that only occur outside the Icelands since it's practically always wintering there.

yeah seeing ingo outside the winter coat would be very rare as he basically lives in the Arctic now, but if he did leave the highlands for a long enough time he would eventually change his coat. so the other wardens would have probably seen him in different forms if he visited their regions, caused some disagreements about his appearance for a while.

Thinking about nature spirit fifteen meter tall Desmond who lives in caves and travels by night. He can't speak but communicates by trills, whistles, chitters and growls he has deerlike ears and little nubby horns that have moss growing on them. His eyes are similar to a cat's, his teeth are pointed, nails are sharp, hard to file and he can smell a drop of blood from half a mile away. He doesn't need to eat a lot because he photosynthesises and chews dirt. He can make forests grow out of nothing but would rather not impact natural ecosystems.

He does NOT eat men OR kidnap their women... But sometimes he does rescue a few from unwanted marriages. Now because of that the tiny farmers like to fire arrows at him and scream when he's spotted in the area. Rude but more annoying than anything. Now he sleeps with boulders in front of his cave... The boulders don't completely cover his 'doorway' but farmers are apparently very bad climbers.

His ancestors on the other hand...

Now I'm thinking about all the misunderstandings that could come from this little brain baby... Maybe I should write this?

I just can't decide if he would be naked or wear 'clothes' similar to poison Ivy's.

I just love this setup too much of simply walking would make the ground bloom and wither.

It’s one of the scenes that are etched into my brain since I was a kid and I want Desmond as a nature spirit have the same thing and not have any say on it XD

The clothes though… I guess it depends on how you want him to be able to use photosynthesis. Being naked and his skin being the ‘main tool’ for photosynthesis would work or his ‘clothes’ are actually a part of him that are the ones doing the photosynthesis. Also… having clothes would give you an excuse for Desmond to change clothes depending on the season. Like, something green with fresh leaves for summer, a myriads of blooming flowers in spring, orange and yellows for autumn and the most resilient plants that still strive in winter.

Keeping him naked also means that making him wear clothes would hinder the photosynthesis which might give you a chance for a little bit of angst.

I kinda like the idea that his horns are slowly growing and the final form of the horns is also like his clothes, shifting depending on the season. Flowers would decorate them during spring, fresh leaves would sprout from them during summer, orange and yelloe leaves would fall from them during autumn and they would be completely bare a shock of pure white during winter.

(aka: like the horns of Sawsbucks but more complicated)

I personally believe that people should write if they want. What is bad in your eyes might be treasure to a reader out there looking for something specific that your story happens to have. But that final say is yours, nonny, if you want. I think this kind of story would be interesting to read, personally. Start the story slow with Desmond learning about his new body and getting used to it, sprinkle in the incidents that made humans wary of him, then the midpoint would be the chapter when he and the ancestor of your choice finally meet.

If a full fic is too much for you, you can write little snippets of the scenes you want to write instead. Those are always fun to read and there’s less pressure in making it a coherent story with a beginning, middle and end. :)

hi i wanna talk about my favorite fairytale

it has many names and many different versions with different endings like most fairytales so imma be talking about the most popular versions

but one thing these all have in common is the main character is a winter form deerling

ill be using bullet points/cliff notes for this to just make it easier on me kshdfksjdhfk

The Original Fairytale

A Winter Form Deerling is frolicking through her winter wonderland before coming across three Lycanroc and decides to eavesdrops on the three.

The Midday Lycanroc says it most enjoys eating Summer Form Deerling and Sawsbuck, the Midnight Lycanroc says it most enjoys Spring Forms, and the Dusk Lycanroc most enjoys Autumn Forms.

The three canines then plan to go through each of the Seasonal Forests so each of them can hunt for their favorite meal.

Winter panics and decides that she must go warn these herds of Deerling and Sawsbuck of the upcoming danger.

She runs off into the Spring Forest and warns the herd there, getting them to leave right before the Lycanroc arrive and then the Summer Forest with a bit more difficulty.

The Autumn Forest herd was more difficult, not wanting to flee their home. So, instead the herd decided that with this warning they will instead fight the Lycanrocs in which Winter joined them.

Due to the warning the herd had received they managed to not have any casualties and chased of the canines and Winter ended up evolving into a Sawsbuck while standing over the Lycanroc in a rather cool as fuck scene in my opinion before the canines run off.

Winter then leaves the herd and arrives on a hill that acts as the connecting middle point of each of the Seasonal Forests with an incredibly tall tree that reaches so far into the sky that it could touch the sun and on each side is one of the seasons.

While there the Lycanroc show up, skinny and exhausted with hunger. Winter, upon seeing the suffering canines, comes to realize that while she saved others she made others suffer. A Trolley Problem. Save the many or save the few.

She had already saved the many. But maybe she could save the few. She was no longer a tiny deerling. She was now something that could fill the bellies of three hungry predators.

She lets them eat her.

And that's how the story ends.

Other Versions

Kalosian Version(s) -

Winter, when she dies, becomes Xerneas.

Theres also a few versions where she has a Vullaby/Mandibuzz companion that becomes Yveltal and in some versions the Lycanrocs join together and become Zygarde

"Child-friendly Version(s)" -

Instead of three Lycanroc its a Houndoom, Mightyena, and a Midnight Lycanroc who, instead of just being hungry Pokemon, are malicious creatures that want to take over the Seasonal Forest. Winter does not die in the end and instead "fixes" the hungry canines with the power of friendship and now the canines only eat berries.

Theres also a version in which Winter still dies but instead of staying dead or becoming Xerneas, Xerneas instead appears and brings her back to life.

HI. TEEN MAIRIN HEADCANONS SORTA. Except they’re not listed and i go crazy as i type this. AND I END UP ELABORATING ON HER TEAM ONLY

When I say teen Mairin I imagine a fifteen year old Mairin. Maybe sixteen if we squint.

She’s obviously taller, has SLIGHTLY different clothing also her hair is short. It stays short. I respect all interpretations of teen Mairin but in my head her hair is short.

If she was a menace as a kid, she’s twice of a menace now. Her personality is basically the same ..

She’s still at the lab living there of course, and probably left on an official full-gym challenge included journey around 14.

I mostly wanna elaborate on her team though.

Chespie did NOT want to evolve. He gets Pikachu treatment. He’s her ace (believe it or not) but her only non-evolved Pokémon!

(as I type this I realize she should’ve had a Florges bc of the Flabébe she caught. BUT OH WELL.)

(Also I was tempted to give her a mega evolvable pokemon but i decided against it for no reason.)

Maractus was a Pokémon she caught with Steven in Hoenn, nicknamed Spiky!

Meganium was gifted to her as a Chikorita by Ash (His Meganium had KIDS!!!!) and she nicknamed her Bloom.

Her Sawsbuck… idk how she caught it but I’ll come up with it eventually. She named it Summer (which she didn’t realize didn’t fit until it changed forms for the spring. She stuck with the nickname though).

Roserade (whose nickname I changed to simply Rosie), is the budew I talked about in another post!

And Shaymin.. it’s a special case. She found it in its normal form in her windowsill on the day the Lumiose renovations post-crisis were over ;), and after a hypothetical chaotic episode she decided to keep it! Later on, the professor got his hands on some Gracidea, and Shaymin managed to change forms. That’s when she decided to raise it as another team member! It’s nicknamed Spring

Going crazy with the seasonal names.

I also started just rambling as I wrote this so awesome.

Can you do Sawsbuck?

Unfortunately, for most people, a sawsbuck would not be a very good pet.

Keeping a sawsbuck indoors would be rather difficult for a few reasons. At six feet tall and over 200 pounds, they may have a hard time being comfortable in a more enclosed space, with less room to move around. Speaking of moving around, sawsbucks are migratory, moving from place to place in herds depending on the season (Black). Unless you are willing to migrate yourself, following their natural migratory patterns, they may become restless if forced to stay in one place.

It is unclear if the physical transformation that sawsbucks go through during this season migration would still occur if they were to remain in one place. There is inconsistent data, as some sources claim that people tell the season by their horns (Black), indicating multi-season observance, while others title them the "harbingers of spring", indicating seasonal arrival (Black 2/White 2). If this transformation cycle occurs regardless of migration, then you may have a leafy mess on your hands, with seasonal shedding. Luckily, at least the leaves grown during the summer can be made into delicious black tea (Violet).

As far as their moves go, sawsbucks rely on moves that utilize their impressive antlers, which given their size could really do some damage. Sawsbucks are particularly irritable and prone to aggression in their autumn form (Violet).

Given their migratory lifestyle and size, sawsbucks would not make the best pets for most people.

Pokemon headcanons!

(these are about the Pokemon themselves!)

Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott

Samurott's helmet-like shell has nerves inside it, much like a sea turtle's shell. Most domesticated Samurott enjoy the sensation of being petted or brushed on the head.

They will also need a scratching post to rub their horn on, since it grows constantly. In the wild, Samurott sharpen their horns againt rocks or driftwood.

Males and females look similar, but females have smaller mustaches.

Most Oshawott and Dewott have a favorite rock, which they carry in a natural "pocket" under their arm. This rock is used as both a tool and a comfort item.

Fletchling/Fletchinder/Talonflame

Female Talonflame are significantly larger than males, but have a shorter crest. Both genders help take care of the young.

During the summer, members of the Fletchling line are extremely territorial, but they become more social during the winter. In especially cold areas, they will all huddle together to keep warm.

In the wild, Talonflames prey on smaller Pokemon such as Zubat, Pidove, Pidgey, and Spearow.

In some places, airports hire Trainers who own Talonflames to patrol the runways and landing fields, in order to scare off any smaller birds. This prevents both plane accidents and bird injuries.

Deerling/Sawsbuck

Sawsbuck changes its appearance with the seasons, but it's gradual. Not "poof different antlers."

Late fall is leaf-shedding season for Sawsbuck, since it's transitioning into its winter form. During this time, it's recommended that Trainers keep their Sawsbucks outdoors.

The flowers and leaves on Sawsbuck's antlers vary between regions and individuals. Cherry blossoms are the most common.

Tynamo/Eelektrik/Eelektross

The bioluminescent markings on Eelektross and Eelektrik's bodies are used for communicating with one another, startling predators, and luring prey.

Tynamo are also bioluminescent, and can synchronize their flash patterns. They live in large schools, much like sardines.

When Tynamo are ready to evolve into Eelektrik, they leave their school to live in coral reefs and kelp forests.

Eelektross are mostly deep-sea Pokemon, but will often come ashore at night to hunt for prey. It's thought that their arm-like fins developed for better mobility on land.

Other headcanons:

Krookodile are very protective of their young. The female incubates her eggs underground, and when the baby Sandiles hatch, she carries them wherever they need to go.

It is possible for Unfezant to be gynandromorphic, or exhibit both male and female traits. Since their pre-evolutions don't have any visible gender differences, you won't be able to tell if a Pidove or Tranquill has this condtion until it evolves.

Decidueye use their enormous wings to protect their young. Sometimes they also allow other small Pokemon to take shelter under their wings. In some instances. they have even been documented doing this with human children as well.

With most bird Pokemon, either the female alone raises the young or both parents contribute equally. However, with the Dodrio and Empoleon lines, it is the male who does most of the caring for the chicks.

(chatting!) sawsbuck ingo preening himself and trying to look his best during the spring to catch your eye and ask you to spend his mating season with him (and the rest of his life after that, he hopes)- making sure his antlers are sturdy and strong and the flowers on them are healthy and bright. maybe he approaches you after his shift, a little sad that he didn’t get to spend his lunch break in the sun with you, but you’re waiting for him and emmet to walk them home and he unsubtly shoos emmet off and when he approaches you he lets out a puff of the sweetest scent- deep sandalwood, a hint of florals, as he offers his hand to walk with you. and you- on one hand it’s always funny to have an oblivious reader, but it’s equally as funny to have a reader who *knows* what ingo’s peacocking means but don’t want to scare him off by pushing him harder. but your not-so-subtle hints of complimenting his antlers and touching his chest and asking if he’s been working out only serve to fluster him (and make him *terribly* horny) and it takes A Lot to get him to finally bashfully ask for your company during his rut, if only just for the comfort of having you around during such an irritating time. meanwhile youre out of your mind wondering how he made Stay With Me While Im Horny into some neutral platonic statement. - 🍊

Though, on the off topic of Sawsbuck Emmet, he's a menace in his mating season. He also definitely tries to fight Ingo if he gets too close (antler fight again).

Oh, and from reading the pokedex entries for Sawsbuck, poor Ingo is going to be sleepy in Spring because the flowers Sawsbuck grow tire them out a bunch. It's summer form leaves are apparently good for tea, so Ingo kneeling down to give his mate leaves. (Ingo's tea is surprisingly bitter, but Emmet's is nearly unbearably sweet.) Autumn variant just means they're irritable and fighting a lot (because apparently that's actually deer mating season, so I guess it's horny fighting). Winter has nothing special going on, but apparently they're tamer at that time of year.

Sleepy spring Ingo trying to offer his mate some of his flowers knowing the ones removed will just regrow and drain more of his nutrients...

Warden Ingo is permanently stuck between autumn and winter form in Hisui due to the colder climate....

Vio is a branded chosen of Shaymin. he's an Autumn Sawsbuck hybrid (Though that may change as we enter summer)

He's a former delinquent who used to work at a pokemart but then Shaymin grabbed him to play babysitter for the younger brandeds.

He used to not be able to swear but he can do that now :]

His curse from shaymin is a sort of modified Hanahaki and he coughs up flowers when he's being a shit, as well as grows gracidea flowers on his skin and antlers.

He's a Type:Null hybrid, and while he hasn't had his Silvally form revealed yet- there's going to be some nonsense once he does evolve. Sunglasses recommended.

He mainly has the job of keeping people away from the Ruins of the Temple of Sinnoh, and he gets a decent bit of enjoyment out of scaring them off.

He's tallll almost 8 ft tall.

He has a naginata that an anon gave him. And he walks around in full armor.
