hiya! will the upcoming update be compatible with part 1 saves? or is that something you won't figure out until the first release

Hiya! I always think the saves will be compatible, but then folks always seem to have trouble.

I'm guessing some of the new variables will be screwed up (e.g. nicknames and so on) but if you just want the content and don't mind weird variables then I feel the saves should actually be compatible. I think.

do alpha updates not carry over your data so you have to start over if you want your character and accurate stats and everything every month or am i doing something wrong 😭

Sorry, I'm not totally sure what you mean; you can make saves for your characters that should carry over with each monthly update (though there are unfortunate occasions where data gets corrupted or saves get wiped entirely, though I'm getting better at minimizing when that happens), but every update will send you back to the start of the current chapter file. Because the file gets reuploaded with a new version each month, you start at the beginning of Chapter 9 instead of where your save may have left you (like a specific scene in the middle of Chapter 9). You should still be keeping your stats from previous chapters, though? These issues won't persist past the alpha version, thankfully, and saves for the final version will be infinitely more stable, but your data should be carrying over more or less accurately unless I'm misinterpreting what you're talking about!
