Everyone deserves a ferris wheel date with silly hats!

If you don't know him well, it's easy to brush Vince off as stoic, serious, and quiet, a bit of a slick, untransparent guy. But he can be quite goofy and actually doesn't take himself nearly as seriously as other people do. There's no deep story behind this apart from Kerry being like "hey, I dare you to buy that hat and wear it for the rest of our date", and so he did XD

This was also the last VP session I did with them before Phantom Liberty dropped and before I moved and started my new job and uuuurgggh I miss them a lot atm ;__; But at least I still have a few unedited pics left that I can get to now in a quiet minute xD Still far from finishing PL (thankfully, I'm enjoying it so much, I don't want it to end!!) but I'm also really really looking forward to new VP and finally fixing that outfit Kerry is wearing here (and putting him into all the new clothes too :3)

New Bugsnax hat for December! I got pictures this time.

Unsure whether it'll continue to be available after December, because I also got the witch hat this playthrough, (Visible on the hat rack in the second picture) despite never opening the PC version of the game until November.

reading about the history of DA:I’s development, and forcing the use of Frostbite by executive fiat just seems like it was such a bad idea. seems like there were loads of engines that could have been licensed that allowed them to do what Eclipse couldn’t, without having to implement nearly as many features from scratch.

#apparently FB couldn't handle savegames #animating creatures with more than 2 legs #or dialogue scenes #at the start #and this was simply a mandate driven by EA's desire to have a common engine across all their properties #and they chose the one battlefield was based on #this mandate included racing and sports games too! #madness

In retrospect I regret not focusing on settlements for the sole survivor I got the farthest with, and not having a level 400 powerarmored gatling-laser toting prewar monster

#sometimes i think about starting up fallout 4 just to build or to get that gameplay loop of shoot/loot/build #but then i go :/ at the character creator and quit the game #i don't have a savegame ive broken into like a pair of shoes #well. not one that has built much and also she's at the institute rn :/

Goth Makeover Needs a Makeover

So the Goth makeover has dropped into The Sims 4, and my hunch that they made that new basegame hair for Bella was right.

Unfortunately, my hunch when I heard that only the Goths had been made over was also proven right: They didn’t bother with Likes/Dislikes, Relationships or Sentiments or whatever. Just the appearances of the Goths, which is very on brand for The Sims 4 (the width and prettiness of an ocean, but the depths of a mud puddle).

First things first: Alexander’s skintone shouldn’t have been changed. Only Bella’s and Cassandra’s should have been darkened. Also, he looks bad when aged up. Cassandra’s outfits are also pretty bad, as is her make up, and then there’s that pink lipgloss on one of the outfits that sticks out like a sore thumb. Mortimer is the best of the lot and he’s pretty bad (I hate his new mustache and he should be mostly dressed in black and have different outfits instead of doing the Vlad copypaste thing and...).

Then we have Bella’s boobs. People are praising Bella’s makeover because she has a thicker waist and smaller boobs, and thus a less cartoonish appearance, though the entire art style of the game is cartoonish.

Here’s the thing: I would praise them for her boob reduction if I believed they did it because Bella in the previous games didn’t have big bazoongas. But they didn’t.

They reduced Bella’s breasts simply because the dress they put her in has a (probably mesh) glitch that causes a jagged corner to poke out beneath the boobs when they are larger.

And yes, they put the most iconic sim in the franchise in that dress and didn’t fix the glitchy dress!

Stop and think about that for a minute before you praise them for making Bella “more realistic”. They literally did it so that they wouldn’t have to fix the effing dress.

And I know that because all my makeovers of Bella has put her in that dress, and every single time I have to reduce her boobs to make the glitch go away.

Also, Bella, Cassandra and Alexander’s skintones are soooo gray that I’m not entirely sure why they picked that particular hue given the common complaint about skintones in TS4 being gray and/or washed out.

Just a quick cabin at Spectacle Island for Riddick until he builds the place up properly later. It's going to be one of his starter Nuka World raider bases, though I think Jamaica Plain is gonna be the first one and become raider HQ in the process. Anyways, simple cabin is simple partly because I know I'll most likely tear it down once I do the real build, but also because I didn't bring any building resources with me. This was one of the worst runs I've ever had at this island, which is saying a lot because on survival difficulty it's a pain to begin with... but whatevs, it belongs to Goggles now.

One of the reasons I even bothered to go do this now is because I forgot PAM would default to picking it for Mercer Safehouse since it was the only non-owned/non-occupied settlement left on the Commonwealth map. Took a ridiculous amount of save-scumming to get her to pick something decent even after I yoinked Spectacle Island, but whatevs, Mercer is at Red Rocket now and Spectacle Island is safely reserved for either the Pack or the Operators.
