wanted to make some long post talking about vocaloid and AI voice covers but then I realized I don't want to be that coherent so here's a disorganized rant

vocaloid uses AI. stop saying it doesn't. what's even the point of this you can literally google it man

so do synthv and cevio and etc

this is okay because the usage of AI isn't inherently bad is this a hot take...? you know AI is used in medical tech right? do any of you guys know what AI actually means??

but AI voice covers have 2 main problems, one is of course that someone's voice is being used without their permission

(and the real danger here is deepfakes, which should be obvious, but I'm talking about vocaloid here so...)

the other, which I think most people don't realize, is that someone else's singing is also being ripped off like... AI can't figure out how to sing a song. it just makes an approximation of the voice it was trained on sound like something that already exists for AI covers of vocaloid songs specifically this means they're definitely ripping off a utaite cover, and you can bet the uploaders won't mention who...

this is why vocaloid takes more effort, the person tuning the vocaloid has to decide how it will sing each note newer AI vocal synths do some of this automatically but by assuming what would sound natural (roughly) (and with mixed results), not by ripping off someone else who already sang the song

which is why people call vocaloid an instrument. it's a digital instrument. you have to decide what notes to play

so please stop trying to argue AI is bad just because it makes things too easy like are you going to argue against digital art next?? there's 100 other valid arguments why this

why did I make this bullet points and then talk in sentences...

#SAVE THE GAME #tho the addition of AI to vocal synths is relatively new #for vocaloid it was only last year and obv vocaloid is way older #but let's not complicate this even more...

#actual answer Femtanyl has been on loop since like august #a lot of Changeline & Issabrokie & Machine Girl too since their stuff is pretty easy to listen to casually and they have. so much.#ive been listening to some of the stuff i see recommended here which has creates a nice variety #i saved some in a playlist including Zand; lustsickpuppy; Goblin Daycare; My Dead Girlfriend; TWINK OBLITERATOR; and Ada Rook #but generally i default to hip-hop or anything loud or both #i finally started listening to MF Doom recently #and ill listen to anything on youtube recommended that looks interesting (usually that means uhh conventionally bad or ugly if ur boring)#oh shit and most recently ive been listening to dungeon synth cause i started a Rune game and wanted music that wasnt just dark souls #i think Poppet was one i found on a rec post here #oh and i recently decided to check the wayback machine for Isserley because i found her music in october and then she mustve wiped out all #of her social media presence in the next few months so anyway im glad i found that again #oh and also Youth The Rich and also Food House and also Newgrounds Death Rugby and also Yameii Online and als #why did i say all that. sorry. uhh yeah i dont really listen to much music #music

All the younger spideys keep finding ways to annoy superior cuz they know he isn't going to do anything except verbally react in a way that's so old man core that it is funny to them. They frequently prank that loser and he genuinely thinks hes just struggling to keep up with Kids These Days </3 but also if they request him to do something he will try even if hes suspicious of it (because he has a soft spot for kids and if he doesn't they'll go running to Peter slandering him) and everytime it ends with him being hit with a Delicious Pie to the face

#ESPECIALLY miles gwen pav and peni and margo because i know superior would support them all the way #hobie does it the best but superior still only at most yells at him to GET OUTT because again he is trying so hard #this probably makes no sense but see my beautiful mind:#superior is some old man hes trying his very best to be nicer and wants to help whoever he can to make up for his past.#plus he has a soft spot for kids especially cuz he wants to give them the support he never got #thats canon btw and also he wants people to like him (canon also) and he knows he has to work with these people #so the younger spideys can just go up to him and prank him sillystyle and he will always react so genuinely its so funny...#again view my beautiful mind: miles tells him to put his hand on the table and hes like . ok morales do u need my help or...#and then miles puts a cup full of water on his hand and hes trapped there or the water spills on all his tech #(very fixable situation but its for the gaffs the goofs.. and also stick it to the old people)#one time hobie tells him to spell icup and he goes im not falling for that. next hour hobie tells peter superior creased miles' shoes and #[the wolves get me]#superior spider man #superior spiderman #elliot tolliver #synth speaks #to be very clear superior would 100% be on miles' side he believes strongly in always trying to save people and also deciding ur own destiny

You ever think about Shaun and Danse interacting and cry a lil bit

#theodoor (renamed synth shaun) struggles w/ being a copy of a contentious evil man #and being used as bait #and being taken in by that mans father as a pity child. not what was wanted but there anyway #and feels urges to act a certain way even after gus gets his ideal programming outta there #and resents basically everything and everyone involved in his existence #because he isnt just a lure. hes a doll. hes a toy made by a cruel and heartless man. made to be exactly like him #and every time he feels any negative emotion he feels like Shaun won and got his clone #every time he feels positive emotion he feels like a puppet carrying out Shauns wishes to be the ideal child #and DANSE eventually comes to terms with his nature/himself in general and gets better. and as he slowly starts entering a relationship #with gus he starts noticing /hey this kid is going through something similar/#/i suffered this but at least i was free to do as i wanted. teddy is a child & hes meant to be a specific child that he cannot possibly be/#and danse notices that teddy is squeamish around science because he wants to distance himself from shaun #so he takes him under his wing. /you wanna see how a laser works?/ and gets him to see that science is not a force of evil #but a tool to be used. Shaun used it for his ego but Danse uses it to protect the others. Isa uses it to heal the wasteland.#Curie uses science to save people and heal their pain. he shows him /you know better. so you wont become him. you literally couldn’t./#like. teddy has a lot of issues being put on the spot to be the missing boy come home. but not being that boy #and danse gets it. he had issues after building his existence on being a paladin and model soldier only to be the Enemy #he gets trying so hard and wanting so bad to be one thing or fully the other. not be in that awful middle ground where its all confusing #and danse figures out over time that the Institute made m797 but he - his choices and his experience - made Danse #and its the same for teddy. and the kid gets along better having someone who can closest understand what he feels #ss; alter #bc teddy is gus' kid so he goes in the tag

Fantasy racism almost always handled very badly and uncomfortable way but it is extra bad with fallout 4.

Like I enjoy game but synth writing is so bad. My options of way of treating them is enslave this guys, kill this guys, or be a white saviour to this guys. I wanna help this guys but I want them to have their own opinions you know. I need more Glory less Desdemona. Nick also should be more vocal about synth and robot rights he talks about it but not enough. I love him a lot one of my faves but he is written and act like one of the good ones. Internalised synthphobia.

Also all mind-wipe thing.

Also coursers being seen as pure evil always evil same level evil with instutue. Like this guys are also synths they are also enslaved they are as much as victims as others you need to save them too. Game tried to make me sympathise with fucking Kellogg of all people but x6 written like he is sadistic beyond saving pure evil and guilty murderer. One joined instutue voluntary other is literally created and brainwashed and threatened with mindwipe.

Actually it's not the way story elements exist but how narrative treats them. Like way characters act make sense. But story want me to think in a way that doesn't make sense. Yeah man I feel so good with helping this good synths and killing bad ones and deciding which one is evil which one is not. Only good ones deserve freedom after all. Yeah brotherhood rules they allow nick with me doesn't matter they treat him like my rabid pet.

I wan not going to write that long because its not that deep and I don't care that much but I wrote that much. Sorry. This is like my version of being Tumblr user who gets angry on child cartoon because it is not handling political themes good. My Steven universe rant. Anyways I will again turn my brain off it doesn't worth it that much criticizing. It's badly written.
