I fear the night taking over with the coldest arcs going live becoming too hard to shoulder what if love’s not meant to survive and if it’s not, what does that mean for it was long hailed our savior was it weakened through our routines undermined by our behavior if love’s not enough to sustain us not the savior we thought that it was then perhaps we can only blame us and this thing that we have made of love I fear the night taking over with the coldest hearts calling shots can’t take the weight of this boulder but the boulder’s all that we’ve got thought love would be what would save us was told it was all that we’d need perhaps that’s just how they played us while selling us all out to greed if love’s not enough to sustain us not the savior we thought it to be perhaps we should blame those we did trust to treat this truth much more faithfully I fear the night taking over with the coldest parts set to thrive where each new trespass gets bolder we’ve made it so love can’t survive through models that were just toxic lauded as the love we deserved it is no wonder we tossed it thought it not worth being preserved if love’s not enough to sustain us not the savior we thought that it was then we cannot let it reframe us in the ways that it routinely does we must fix it ‘til it is able fulfill promises long ago made give each of us seats at the table so perhaps it is now ours to save (8/10/23)
