Haughty little pokemon with a superiority complex, Sparlin are confrontational and snide to pretty much everyone they meet. Although skilled at wielding their long bills as a weapon they often times deem most opponents as unworthy to suffer its sting; despite having riled them up to the point of aggression to begin with. Dullamarlin have suffered many battles and rather than being humbled by their injuries, instead harbour a deep seated grudge against all they've fought. Using their own disembodied heads even more deftly than they did when it was still attached, they are indeed fearsome swordsmen. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

saucylobster replied to your post: hollyblueagate: when will someone make an mmo...
I’m absolutely with you on this one, though Bangaas from Final Fantasy kind of fit the bill for the top pic.
Sure, but it’s got to be an mmo game and inaccurate plastic dinosaurs have to be the only playable races. Maybe there could be one token mammal to be the typical ‘weird bad guys’ race.

The names are a fun nod to squirtle etc but have no bearing on any real relationship. Skurtle have yet to develop their shell and so resort to stealing gravestones to hide behind, using them as shields and weapons. Whilst cautious they are nevertheless curious and are keen to watch any who wander by; from the safety of a hidden vantage point of course. Mortortle now have a tough outer shell, layered with a somber-coloured moss and studded with a gravestone they chose to keep from their days as a Skurtle. Preferably left alone, they can be quite ornery if their space is invaded and they are welcomed in cemeteries as a strange sort of guard dog. Spending most of their time asleep, Restoise can grow to huge sizes though only grow more lethargic as they grow in size. They tend to a collection of their favourite graves and guard them jealously, swiping with their wing arms or clubbing intruders with their stony tail. They grow attached to cemetery caretakers and regular visitors and continue to commune with them when they pass. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Rotifers are so weird and I was glad to learn about their existence. Their name mean "wheel bearer" due to their unusal mouths and they feed by creating a current that sucks food into the mouth for processing. Made sense to me to slap some saw blades on that bad boy and create a pokemon. Spinjaw have highly developed and powerful spinning mouthparts that can spin with enough force to draw food items in. Although they subsist on smaller prey, their formidable saws are capable of processing anything into small enough particles to eat. They have seen use in production and construction but their simple lifestyles are not suited to complicated work. Sawmaw have developed their formidable blades even further and their stronger leg allows them to hop towards prey in a more unexpected lunge. More interested in larger prey it can nevertheless be hard to pin down as the sound of their jaws at work is enough to startle most creatures before they can attempt an ambush. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

I wanted a cute fairy dragon and whilst this is a road well tread, I don't really care, it's nice to have. It'l get a Mega and as a cute, high BST mon, I decided Loupup and it make for good counterparts. Drixie are small for dragons and whilst happy and caring, tend away from contact with humans. Many legends are attached to their name and Drixie dust for one is considered to be an ingredient in many powerful remedies and elixirs. Although good natured, they aren't pushovers and if angered will guard their forest home viciously. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Socketron can be nuisances for households that attract them, siphoning off power from any available sockets and raising energy bills considerably. Their metal fingers are excellent at directing electricity and even the lightest touch can let loose a debilitating shock in their times of need. Transfogre are hulking pokemon, seemingly struggling to cope with their own lop-sided heft. Actually quite pleasant they are capable of storing frightening amounts of electricity and are employed by businesses as emergency power, seen frequently in hospitals and labs. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

With a true body consisiting of little more than an eye, Boynado are capable of manipulating air pressure around themselves to whip up particulates in the air and create a body. Hard to communicate with on anemotional level, their wants and needs are hard to discern and they can become destructive with little provocation. Jarracell raom open plains where their powerful pull on the surrounding air is thankfully far from human habitation. Even when at rest they are whipping the air into powerful currents around them and when they choose to act violently, are capable of inflicting destruction over a wide area with little effort. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

I tend to avoid overt pop-culture references but hairy frogs are also known as wolverine frogs for their ability to break their bones and use them as claws, which is just excellent. A nod to Sabretooth makes for a perfect evo and one of my favourites in recent memory. Generally preferring to reside alone, Wolverana prefer to avoid conflict but are ferocious if provoked. Lashing out with steel claws and the spines across their bodies they become frenzied and uncontrollable in the heat of battle, even damaging themselves. Luckily, their healing ability is excellent and they quickly recover from their wounds. Saberana use their claws and spines to inflict vicious wounds on their opponents and unlike Wolverana have no qualms with needless violence. This puts the two pokemon at odds and they often engage in bitter battles, their endurance pushed to their limit as their regenerative abilities prolong their fights longer than expected. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

There's a lot of horned rabbits in mythology and handily, the progression from Mi-raj to Jackelope to Wolpertinger makes for a great pokemon. Aside from being a rabbit with a horn, the Mi'raj is also associated with slaying a dragon and so its typing and ability were a shoo-in. The poses were very plain so I was keen to spice it up for the shiny colours. Miralance are rowdy pokemon that despite their small stature will defend themselves readily. The impressive length of their horn allows them to poke at an enemy without entering its range, dancing around an opponent as they jab at them before adminstering the coup-de-grace. Joustelope are actively belligerent and are more inclined to seek out a fight. Always trying to push themselves further they seek larger, stronger opponents and although it is not their intention, they provide a safe haven for weaker creatures as they rid an environment of its most dangerous residents. Slaypertinger are pokemon of noble bearing, challenging only the very fiercest of foes to battles of life and death. Aloof and distant, they are rarely encountered in the wild and live far from human interference. Those raised from a young age by their trainer are loyal guardians and despite a caring nature are still very reserved. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Buerbeiro has been here before but since I moved Toxidrum, i've added a new friend for it to roll with. Buerbeiro are a frogs body, malformed and piloted by a colony of parasitic worms. By rotating like a wheel they are capable of great speed, scattering poison and spreading their members into the environment at a far greater rate than they ever could alone. Ventrench live anywhere there is strong geothermal activity, whether that be volcano peaks or deep ocean trenches. They filter particles using their bright red gills whilst enduring searing temperatures with their tough carapace; strengthened by the metal and ore they collect. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Snoover have a mouth on the end of a long proboscis that allows them to produce an incredible amount of suction. They use this appendage to draw in small food particles and can survive on practically anything as long as its small enough to eat. A byproduct of this feeding method is a cacophony of electric power that means it's not hard to know when one is nearby. Vacuuver have a larger body than Snoover and although still restricted by the size of their food, are capable of taking in a lot more of it. This is noticeable as they have a highly distensible stomach and once filled and taut, will become totally silent and sluggish as they spend the rest of their time sleeping off their meal. The action of a Vacuuver eating, as it draws it proboscis across a surface, generates a lot of static electricity which it stores and uses in its defence. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Ganibuto have a tough carapace and sharp claws, yet they fight with great caution, using theis spindly limbs to deftly jab at their foes from a safe distance. Combat between two Ganibuto involves locking pincers and engaging in a shoving match to determine the winner. The loser will accept defeat gracefully before moving on to new pastures. Shogani continue to employ their spindly legs and elongate claws to engage in combat from a safe distance but can now wield their sword-like pincers more expertly. The curved shape of their carapace defelcts most blows and combat between two Shogani is mostly ceremonial. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Mycelumen have specialised cells that produce a charge of electricity and where this charge is stored in greater capacity, it glows strongly enough to emit light outside of its body. They use this light to communicate in the dark forsts they call home and when they glow most intensely they are about to discharge their electricity as an attack. Illumenstein are hulking pokemon that prefer a life of solitude in the deep, dark forests. Capable of storing huge amounts of electricity, they will warn trespassers with a series of flashes from their hands before giving chase and attempting to dissuade further invasion. Illumenstein aren't stupid and would prefer to avoid conflict, though they are more than capable ofemerging the victor. What better shiny than a reference to Frankenstein's original film appearance, in black and white. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Dropplid congregate in large schools and if enough of them gather at once they are capable of influencing the weather. Luckily the largest congregations occur far out to sea where the raging storms they summon are of no threat to the average human. Sailors mostly avoid these storms but they can catch a lot of Dropplid at once if they are daring enough. Thunderkraken are not as social as their young counterparts and are much more aggressive. Hovering above the waves, their great shadow and summoned rain attract fish nearer to the surface, within striking range of their electrified tentacles. If bothered by sailors, they may follow them all the way home and devestate their communtiy with a huge storm. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Although I might have tried to do too much with these guys (canaries are full of potential ideas) I do really like the end results. Canoxide was intended to feel like a pokemon that underperformed and got an evolution in a later generation. Canoxide are bird pokemon that have adapted to a subterranean existence, no longer able to fly and with wings that have developed into picks. They communicate through songs that echo for miles through the caves and defend themselves similarly, exhaling the toxic chemicals they breathe in as a means of debilitating opponents in the confines of their environment. Phantox sing as a means of communicating their strength and a prolonged musical number can eject suffocating clouds of noxious vapour into the air until the weakest participant succumbs. Territorial and possessive, a Phantox will aggressively defend anything it perceives as its own; whether that be a place or a person. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

Hindimp scurry through the undergrowth after small creatures to eat and if they can make eye contact are capable of mesmerising them to a standstill. Scrappy and viscious if cornered, they have yet to master the domineering gaze of their older counterparts and so defend themselves with vigorous and frenzied attacks. Hindseye radiate a strong psychic aura from their five eyes that can be utterly irresistable or gut-wrenchingly terrifying as their whims dictate. By being able to manipulate an onlookers emotions like this they have an easy time coaxing prey right up to their mouths and can convince even the most savage attacker to back off in an instant. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--
