Hey everyone, if you're looking for another way to support the Sarcoma Foundation of America & Technoblade's legacy, they're doing a Virtual Race (5k Marathon) on July 23rd. This is a great way to get involved and help raise money, even from people outside of the community.
Here is a link to the virtual race

It just fell upon me: does anyone know the numbers of about how much of the sarcoma research is actually funded by Minecraft YouTubers?

I heard the most raw and tragic quote from Technodad from today’s charity livestream that he and Dream did (donate to sarcoma charities btw) and I wanted to share it.
Technodad was talking about how Techno would be awake at any and all hours playing video games, and would suddenly (at like 2am) be startled and accidentally wake his parents up from the room over with his sudden jumbled rambling over what had happened in the game.
“It was so annoying when it happened, and it was so awful when it stopped.”
The grief today was palpable, and I wanna extend my love to the Technofam, the DSMP, and everyone who needs it. Don’t forget Technoblade. Don’t forget.
(Might be off one word or so but it hit me so hard I had to instantly write it down)

Fly high, Technoblade-thank you for being an inspiration to all of us through your work.

Alluvial - Death Is But A Door
As a huge music fan, I try to keep my ear to the ground and see what kinds of bands and artists are on the come up, or what’s been getting a lot of hype, because I want to be on top of any band or artist getting a lot of praise and buzz in any particular scene, especially the heavy metal scene. I’ve been a metalhead for the last decade now, and I tend to keep up with what’s popular and what bands are getting buzz, but one band that apparently has been getting a lot of buzz for the past few years is progressive and technical death metal / deathcore band Alluvial. This band began from a former guitarist of The Faceless, and it also began as an instrumental act, but their second album, 2021’s Sarcoma, brought on board a vocalist, more specifically a former vocalist of Suffocation. I’ve listened to Sarcoma a few times, and that record is a really unique slice of death metal that encompasses a lot of different sub genres of metal. They just dropped a new EP, entitled Death Is But A Door, and I was really curious about this, so before I listened to Sarcoma, I thought this would be a good introduction to this band, as a lot of EPs typically are. They’re a 15 to 20-minute introduction, so if you’re not into it, you don’t feel as though you spent much time with it. If you do love it, however, and it has some good replay value, it’s short enough to revisit over and over again.
So where does this EP fall? Well, it falls into the latter, thankfully, as this EP merely continues what the band did with Sarcoma, but this was my introduction to them, and I was blown away. This is a four-song EP that shows what the band can do, especially if you want a short little introduction to these guys, you got it. The first three songs are death metal bruisers that will get you head banging in no time, as they combine deathcore, djent, progressive death metal, and technical death metal into a ferocious package. Both the instrumentation and vocals are top notch, and they showcase every member, not just one or two. This is the kind of band where each member gets their time to shine, not just the vocalist or the guitarist.
The last track, which is the title track, is where things slightly deviate from what we’ve heard in the prior three songs, but not by much. This song is a bit slower and more melodic, as there are clean vocals on this song, which sort of threw me for a loop, but Sarcoma features more clean vocals. If you’re not familiar with this band, the clean vocals may put you off a bit, but they’re fine. They’re more in the hard-rock style of clean vocals, but they’re still good. They provide some contrast, especially with this song being slower and more ballad-esque, but I could see someone not being into this song. I enjoy it, but it does kind of halt the momentum of the EP, because it kind of stops it almost. Not quite, but it does bring it down a bit.
That’s kind of a minute issue, as it still rules, and this EP is great from front to back. It’s only 17 minutes, but it’s a barrage of heaviness for that time. It keeps you wanting more and wanting to go back to it time and time again. I’ve been playing it a lot this past week, since I found it, and it’s great. I don’t know if it’s a standalone EP or if it’s a teaser to a new record, and if it’s the latter, that would be awesome. Their last album came out three years ago, so it would be cool to hear another new album from these guys. I don’t know how they escaped my attention, but I’m glad they put this out, so I can properly hear of them, because this is some of the most interesting and unique death metal I’ve heard in a long while, so hopefully these guys stay on that path, because they’re on their way to becoming one of death metal’s buzziest bands, and this EP is a perfect example why.

a toast to technoblade
when i got home from school, the first thing i’d do was check my computer, my youtube notifications. it was so exciting to see the little 1 next to the notification bell, especially when it alerted me to a technoblade upload or video.
i watched all of his videos when i discovered the channel in early april, 2020, and then rewatched them again. when i’d had a bad day, i would load up a youtube tab and be hit with a familliar -
“Welcome guys, to another episode of skywars...”
His videos always made my day.
i remember him hitting 1 million subcribers and the elbow reveal, i remember the ultimate trilogy of the potato war and his rivalry with im_a_squid_kid, i remember technoblade absolutely destroying dream in a pvp match in a mr beast video, i remember how ranboo and technoblade jointly discovered ranboo’s potential to be a protaganist, i remember the speech he made when activating the withers in manburg, i remember how he became sand during the $10′000 refrigerator contest.
i remember the video titled ‘where i’ve been’
i remember the shock, the disbelief, the sadness i felt
i remember the lighthearted way he joked about cancer and the reaction from his health insurance.
i remember the second video titled ‘i almost became an amputee’
i remember how again, his humor never faltered, and he continued to make content - the stream with the revengers and saving michael, and the vr minecraft video
i remember the announcement
i remember that i was on holiday in a motorhome, driving up the inland roads of north queensland when my phone pinged. i opened up youtube, and on 360p, with two bars of connection, i watched technoblade’s dad and floof walk up to the chair. i heard techno’s last message, and his mum’s note at the end.
i cried
i was so upset.
this grounding, down to earth person, this brotherly internet figure, had died.
I remember that i was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021, and was having a hard time coming to terms with it, with what this meant for the rest of my life, so i clicked on the newest technoblade upload, the $100′000 mr beast analysis.
i remember i had found out he had ADHD too, and i felt relieved.
“hey, technoblade is cool and awesome and successful, and he has ADHD, so i should be alright”
and all of my concerns were alleviated
this guy, this funny, intellegent, strategic, strong person, had vanished from my life forever.
never again will technoblade upload or stream or tweet
but myself, and i’m sure that the entire community, will remember him
just like i remember
we will cherish the memory of Technoblade
the memory of the blood god
the potato king
the best minecraft monday competitor this world has ever seen
the man who raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity
the second worst thing that ever happened to those orphans
and the first worst thing that ever happened to cancer
as of this post, technoblade hit 14 million subscribers, and i am so proud
when the sleepy bois that remain, phil, wilbur and tommy, get in a call together or meet up irl, it will always be 4/4, because technoblade will always be there in our hearts
so i raise a toast to technoblade, for all the people he helped and inspired, for the content that formed a community and brought people together, who changed so many lives -
my life
the lives of techno’s friends
and the lives of his millions of subscribers and dedicated fans
he made this world a better place and he will be missed
Technoblade Never Dies

i love you naynay, mwah.

Race To Cure Sarcoma
From the website of the Sarcoma Foundation of America:
The Race to Cure Sarcoma is the premier run/walk series in the United States focused on raising awareness and research funds for sarcoma.  Sarcoma patients, survivors, their friends and loved ones come together as a community to support innovative research for better treatments and an end to sarcoma. The Race to Cure Sarcoma also creates awareness for the disease and helps to promote a sense of community amongst those whose lives have been impacted by sarcoma.
Above is a link to all the dates and places where this walk/run is scheduled to take place. It's all over the United States, so if you live near any of those places and want to support the Foundation, consider attending.
There is even a virtual event on July 23rd 2022, since July is Sarcoma Awareness Month. See the link above for more information.
Techno's community is massive, so if even a fraction of us goes to some of these runs, it could raise a lot of awareness. Plus, I think physical activity can be a great way to cope with grief and have an outlet - and this one even connects back to what caused that grief in the first place.
Don't feel pressured to attend if you can't or don't want to for any reason. I just thought it would be a good thing to share, and if you could give this post a reblog that would be fantastic. Thank you everybody.
