literally every day i have at least one stupid lil daydream about waking up next to her, about baking with her, about sitting in her passenger seat… just little slices of a life where we are happy and in love…

about opening my eyes and seeing the sunlight filtering through the curtains onto her face, her bedhead curls, and the blankets wrapped around her. maybe still being in her embrace, insulated from the cold of the outside as she nestles into my neck. admiring her form when the blankets have gotten tossed aside in the night, and seeing the serenity and relaxation on her face as she sleeps.

about working together to make a perfect cake, focusing in on getting the measurements right, forgetting about everything else, “accidentally” covering each other in flour, which turns into playfully embracing after we put the cake in the oven. we start getting very impatient waiting for it to finish, and end up making out pressed against the counter, flour still finding its way all over hands and bodies. and we still have to agree how we’re gonna decorate it!

about riding in her car, windows rolled down, leaning over the center console and bringing her hand to my lips, while the radio blares one of her favorite songs. she sings along, and i smile against her skin, because her off key voice is my everything in that moment. my hair whips in the wind and she laughs heartily at herself and i feel infinite and alive.

i want to get there one day. to that kind of bliss.
