Hi!! I hope you're having a great day! If you have a moment, I was curious if you have any tips for drawing dragonborn? Your dragonborn characters always look incredible and expressive! Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I have a hard time drawing them. Thank you!! <3

hio!! first of all thank you hope your day is great too <3  it took me quite a while to figure out how to draw dragonborn, they have lots of tricky shapes so it's not weird if you feel a little lost!!

i tried to put together some quick notes on how i draw them:

like most things dragonborn can be simplified into smaller shapes like spheres which is what i usually work with. you can vary all of these proportions to your liking

for expressions i make sure that i have all the essential parts: eyes, eyebrows (i use some scales that function basically the same) and mouth!! i also like to give my dragonborn ears because they're cute

then i try to translate human expressions as well as i can onto the dragonborn face! i mix "anatomically correct" elements like the jaw moving when the mouth opens with more "cartoon logic" like the scale-eyebrows and mouth can change shape depending on what i need them to do

how did lucy's session go?! i need to know everything!!

ALLIE!!! Session 3 was.... WILD. We escaped a church we got teleported into (politcal superpower, racist, no tieflings allowed, 4 out of 7 of us are). Lucy finally got home to his college and his brother has been missing and our characters had all been missing far longer than we realized. Lucy was running around town to try and contact his archmage father to get him to scry on his brother, to no avail, so we investigated his room and found strange symbols, with a really good roll we found he's made some kind of pact with a strange entity but ran out of time and has been possessed? He won't respond to any sendings. Lucy had a strong drink in the evening to try and calm himself to get some sleep, got just a bit tipsy, had a bit of a sibling squabble with his sister in a tavern about not wanting to bunk with her (the last time they shared a room was when they were young, before he orphaned them) and swallowed the room key so she couldn't get in, and then, HARLOT that he is, shared the room with Tycho, our timid little clockwork sorcerer boy, and Lucy is letting Tycho study his prosthetic arm because they're both autistic tinkerers.

Panic!!! Hi!!!!!

Rook is my Swashbuckler Rogue for the DnD campaign I'm currently playing. He's a half-elf, and the bastard son of a nobleman, and the love of my life.

putting this under the cut because it's going to get SO LONG

His father and step-mother thought he was a huge embarrassment, so they weren't exactly his biggest fans. (If you see me tag his posts as "Adrian Lockwood", that's his birthname.) He ended up running away at age 17 and joining the crew of a pirate ship named the Tide Breaker under Captain Zara. He looked up to her immensely, and she taught him everything he knows about sailing and swordsmanship. She also gifted him his magic rapier.

He was promoted to first mate a few years later, which some people didn't take kindly to, since he was the youngest on the ship. He said anyone who had an issue could challenge him to a duel, and thought that would solve the problem. It didn't quite, and a few months later some of his crew mates bought him a drugged drink and sold him to a rival pirate captain, a cruel woman by the name of Captain Kora Wolf.

He was on board her ship, the Sea Snake, for two years before he managed to escape, setting the ship on fire in the process. Captain Wolf swore to hunt him down and kill him if he ever escaped, and he can only imagine how much more angry she is now that her ship was damaged.

He ran away to the Feywild, where he met up with the adventuring party and has been with them ever since.

He's generally a pretty easy-going guy. Kind, good sense of humor, always down to chat, he makes friends easily. He's a little bit superstitious, and believes every ship should have a ship's cat, or else it's Bad Luck.

He's very impulsive, often to the degree of recklessness. Sometimes it seems like he has no fear of death. He does, it's just that everything he's ever done, from leaving home to joining a pirate ship to joining an adventuring crew he'd only known for a few hours, has been because of his fear of being stagnant and bored. He wants to do interesting things and see the world, and if that leads to an untimely death, then hopefully it was worth it.

He's also claustrophobic because of the time spent in a tiny room on the Sea Snake.

Just last session he got possessed and almost killed three of his part members, including poisoning one of them with fey scorpion venom he's been carrying around for 11 sessions that I had kind of forgotten about. He feels absolutely awful about it, and is lowkey mad that his party members didn't knock him out if that was what it took to stop him from hurting people.

Oh, and Captain Wolf who kidnapped him is known as "Aunt Kory" to two of the party members (including the one who got poisoned), so that's going to be interesting when we meet her.

Me and another player also decided that Rook's closest friend in the party is the party's 40-something year old werewolf gunslinger, who Rook looks up to for having his life put together. Rook kind of sees him as a dad, in a way.

Oh, and our next dungeon is circus-themed, and I gave the DM the idea for a mirror-maze fight where you have to roll a d4 to see if you even hit the real image. (Kind of like a Mirror Image spell, but applied to the whole fight.) And the DM said I might get Boots of Haste after this dungeon!! And another party member is planning to buy me nice armor, because I'm the party's only melee fighter and my AC is a measly 15.

what songs do you listen to when you do art?

Oohhh, that's a tough one. I can only say it depends on the mood of my art. I don't have any preferred songs, it all depends on the vibe I want my art to be to get my mindset in. So for instance, angst art = melancholy/sad songs. One song that I can think of with this vibe is 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow (reprise)' by Masayoshi Soken. It's all in the vibe.

hmm... depends how well i know the person, but the fair on a summer evening CANNOT be beat. candyfloss and janky ferris wheels and getting lightheaded on the teacups, that’s what it’s all about babey!

...sort of? i’m pretty skeptical of most ‘unexplained’ stuff, but i definitely think that a place can hold memories and feelings for years. like. i’ve never actually seen a ghost? but i’ve definitely felt Vibes, and i know several people who swear they’ve seen something, and i believe them.

🧠 : What is your OC’s most mentally attractive attribute?

I'll give another seperate answer for this one, because Lucy is like an onion. I'd have to say it'd be his loyalty and devotion. Lucy doesn't make a lot of friends, he keeps his heart close to his chest and you'd need a crowbar to get him to open up, but when he likes somebody he is ferociously protective of them.

😍 : What does your OC find irresistible in others?

Oh god, this topic specifically has skewed the entire campaign he's in, I made Lucy a very tall boy, 6'5 to be exact, taller than both his parents, unusually tall for his people and gave him a thing for anybody taller then him (I see Ava over there at what was it? 6'6? 6'7?). Intending for him to be the tallest in the group as the mage (Love the trope of the mage being the tall and imposing one instead of the warrior) and that this trait might come up at some point in the campaign where he'd develop a crush on an NPC or something, then my friend rolls up with a 8'3 goliath paladin built like a strongwoman, biceps, shoulders, belly, the lot, they're fake engaged (for now) and he forged her a magical sword called Vow, the hilt of which is made out of the bone of his severed arm, used to fuel a flametongue enchantment.

🔥 : What’s a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?

Lucy is a divination wizard, and eyes are a big theme for his character, as such he has an extremely high passive perception at a total of 27 currently at level 7, nothing escapes his notice. However, such extremely attuned senses have their downside, he is rather sensitive in the ears, and melts like butter at the slightest touch of them, as well as whenever somebody brushes his hair, which our Paladin had to do to help him do his hair each morning after his arm was cut off.

💐 : What is their courting style? How would they woo someone?

To say Lucy is bad with words would be an understatement, CHR is his dump stat, next to STR, things tend to go best when he talks less. He is however very good at gift giving, being the son of a prominent noble he's accustomed to spending lavishly on weekend lovers and flings, and often showers his friends and lovers with thoughtful and expensive gifts (like Vow) to tell somebody he cares about and loves them so he doesn't have to struggle with awkward words.

Hey Allie!!!! Thanks for the question, I appreciate the interest!

Magpie's hometown is a small and miserable village in a horrible swamp where it constantly rains and the sun barely ever pierces the clouds. Another inspiration was that village from Van Helsing (2004), that movie permanently altered my brain chemistry.

It is so far flung from anywhere important that trade and travel to and from are extremely difficult and it's ruling nation can't really enforce or protect it in any way. As a result the local power that the people look to are a coven of Hags that control the village and offer healing and other things to the population for sinister prices the villagers can't afford to refuse.

It was these Hags who turned Magpie into a Hexblood and inducted him into their coven, granting him his warlock powers, when he was sacrificed by his village as a young boy as part of a yearly offering to keep the Hags happy.

i hear there's wild stuff afoot in lucy's game already?! please spill the beans!! inquiring minds need to know 👀📝

Ok so I really wanna tell but there are a couple people from the game who follow me so Bean and Mavis DO NOT READ, the info below contains private OOS info which will be revealed at next session

So uhhh, in Lucy's game, the gods are missing! They disappeared about just short or over a century ago! So the game began with us all mysteriously teleported to some remote ritual stones on the other side of the continent to free this mysterious and dark entity but we didn't know how we got there but we did it through blood sacrifice. When we get back Lucy's little brother, Orion has been missing for a while, and after an investigation of his bedroom we find some strange symbols behind a poster in his room, and with a really good arcana check we figure out he's made a rite (kinda of like a pact?) with some mysterious entity, and rites come with time limits, and his time ran out, this rite is also a rite of shadows, which makes him incredibly hard to find :( And now end the end of session 3 Lucy has gotten drunk because stressed and is already sharing a room with our clockwork soul sorcerer and letting him inspect his prosthetic arm. Meanwhile our rogue and druid split off to go attend the rogue's terrorist meeting and we have no idea what's going on because private RP but we can see the rolls and it is NOT going well, they're heavily wounded, nearly dead, and alone, also maybe not getting along? One of them might die THEN during a small out-of-session RP as they fall asleep after a little chat some kind of entity of many eyes comes to Lucy in his sleep and offers him a rite to help him find his brother, but with no details of price or what this power or the entity is Lucy tells it to get fucked and now there's a loud crash outside he's going to investigate.
