So Sante Fe Klan apparently dropped an instant classic this year and no one told me? The aptly titled "Todo" (Everything) is a perfect album, each and every song are not only bangers, but a celebration of Latin music, flowing from one genre to the next, even in just one song at times. He draws inspiration from several styles of music from across North and South America, including Regional Mexican, Bachata from D.R. , Cumbia which originated in Colombia, Reggeatón which although is mostly dominated by Puerto Rican artists has original roots are in Panama, fucking RKT from Argentina, and of course hip-hop. He's a perfect example of a Gen Z artist who refuses to limited to one genre, a trend I'm very much enjoying watching unfold. I'm such a nerd for genre bending, it's fascinating to me and I love the kind of art it creates. Highly recommend listening, especially if you're looking to dive into Latin music for the first time, he's truly one of our best.

@frxncaise liked for a Jack Kelly starter!
Jack was dodging through the streets, selling his papes with ease. A made up headline here, a tragic sob story there. If he kept this up, he'd be done long before suppertime and could go on some small adventure with his left over time... but then he saw a pretty girl, and all thought of adventure left him as his face turned dopey, his mouth just barely agape for a moment before he caught himself and snapped it shut. He gulped and blushed, clearing his throat before looking determinedly away just long enough to run straight into the girl. He practically yelped, tripping over himself as he tried to steady her despite his nerves. "'m s-sorry, miss... 'm so sorry!" Where was his usual charm? Where was the cheeky confidence? Sure, it was all a mask, but normally it worked so well!

I WENT TO MEOW WOLF CONVERGENCE STATION WITH MY SISTER TONIGHT and it was just the coolest experience ever!  We walked around for over two hours and although I’m pretty sure we saw everything, it feels like the experience never really ends.  There’s just so much to explore and so many cool things to see.  It was such an amazing experience and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!!

Those other countries around the world find male violence funny. They say "we're not laughing w you ppl we are laughing at you", they find women and children experiencing male violence funny, that's why they joke about it.
The fact that so many mass shootings in the US are based on misogyny (boy is rejected, man wants control over ex wife, man is angry at women in general for not dating him, etc) is something that even people in the US aren’t well aware of, so I think it’s possible that a lot of people outside the US aren’t aware either, but I’m sure plenty of people (men) would find a sick amusement in it if they did know, and possibly even start bringing up the fact that women and girls end up bearing the brunt of the issue.
Aside from women and girls, though, other common causes for mass shootings are racism, prejudice against other religions, and homophobia. But sooooooo many people want to pretend it’s just particularly disturbed men who can’t control themselves and they refuse to acknowledge that a lot of mass shootings are targeted and deliberate

HISTORY:
Jack Kelly was born to Francis and Martha Sullivan on November 12, 1882. He wasn’t expected, nor was he really wanted. But the parents tried to make the best of having a son. They named him after Francis, figuring it was the best name they could give him. They raised him as best they could, but it wasn’t until Francis II was three that things started to look up.
When Francis II was three, his younger brother was born. His name was Thomas Francis Sullivan and he was the light of everyone’s life. He was the perfect baby and the perfect child. Somehow, Francis II wasn’t jealous. He was just happy to have a brother. But tragedy struck when Thomas was four; he was crushed under the wheels of a runaway carriage and killed.
The Sullivans never recovered from the loss. Francis I turned to drink and drugs and wound up in a state penitentiary for life. Martha didn’t fare much better. She left her son one day and never came home. Francis II renamed himself as Jack Kelly and found a home with the Manhattan newsboys. He eventually became their leader and was known around New York as someone you could go to if you were in trouble. Cowboy can help you out, people always said, and so Jack always made sure he did.

❛ Maybe we do have something in common. ❜
Enemies to Friends Askbox Meme Prompt, Spoken by Joseph Pulitzer to Jack Kelly.
Jack's face lit up with the beginnings of a smirk. "That so, Joe?" He put an annoying emphasis on the nickname before rememebering himself and straightening up, clearing his throat and giving a sheepish look. This was his boss, now, after all. "I mean, Mistah Pulitzah." Again, more emphasis, but he hoped that it sounded more respectful this time. He really meant it to. He started fiddling with his pen, before putting it down and clasping his inky hands, trying to not look too nervous.

Welcome to the year 2023 where shootings are so common in america that Texas is holding a shooter in solitary confinement in order to avoid prosecuting him and leading to any common sense gun laws people could extrapolate from the horrid santa fe shooting.
The second santa fe shooting, you probably didn't even hear about because again, shootings are so common.
"How does america handle this? Grieve this? Move on from this?"
It don't.
