I just know that baby Giyuu would feel something from the first time he sees that smile. Giyuu would look at him with wide big blue eyes. Mouth slightly parted. Wondering where the little fluttering in his chest came from. Touching a small hand to his own soft pink tinged cheek. Trying to figure out why it felt hot. Not knowing what to do with himself after realizing Sanemi has stopped laughing and is looking at him with a serene smile. Giyuu looks away, and wonders if Sanemi's suddenly pink cheeks feel hot too.

Sanemi & Giyuu were about 16-17 when they both individually went on an undercover mission in the Kaze no Kuni capital city, they henged/disguised as fake personas Kazura (vaguely derived from kaze, wind) and Nakuu ('to lose')

Kazura is supposed to be darker skinned + two-toned eyes like that of Kazan no Kuni descendants & is sensible and confident but lazy, Nakuu has a hairstyle + facial shape from Mizu no Kuni & an outgoing enthusiastic and pretty sly personality

Giyuu put some particular effort into his disguise and really got into the character he was playing up, he also had fun with it where he could- and thats how he met Kazura. i dont have or really want specifics of why where how or such bc it ruins the imaginative bit of it ig? but while they were on the mission they were meeting up, they both knew the other was disguised but neither pried about it. they fell in love a bit, however it means, but as Nakuu's namesake they were never going to last. it was a mission and when it was done they would leave for home and never meet again.

but then they did :)

at 19 sanemi and giyuu had a political marriage arranged(forced) by Kyogo being a greedy fuck and wanting more trade from the Tomioka, in both the Happy & Broken marriage paths giyuu's the one who notices sanemi acting the same way as kazura in some ways and realizes the two are one in the same. In the Happy marriage its a thought that brings a smile to his face and a jest about how they fell in love twice, in the Broken marriage its only twice the heartbreak after the apathy sanemi regards him with and the loneliness that consumes him

'I screwed it up!' 'Come here you moron!!', Sanemi yelled, hot on the heels of Giyuu, who was running around Sanemi's entire estate.

Let's put a little context, will you?

'I don't know what's up with Giyuu, he's been bitter. Today when he spoke, his voice sounded different, could you help me verify that everything is fine with him?', Sanemi looked at her confused, Shinobu asked him to take care of him?

'Why I should? He's an adult, let him take care of himself' 'I'm telling you as Oyakata-sama's request, I don't have much time right now, there are many injured patients and I have to take the medicine. Do it and I'll tell Aoi to make you whatever food you want'

Sanemi refused, but now he was waiting for Giyuu to arrive, he saw him. Shinobu was right, it seemed like he hadn't slept these days or months, he looked more unpleasant and dull than usual

'Good morning, Giyuu', he had no answer for a few seconds 'What do you want Shinazugawa? Be quick and brief, I want to get out of here', what? Giyuu?

'What's your fucking problem?!' 'That's how you always answer and I don't yell like that', oh wow... He really was in a bad mood

'Giyuu, are you feeling alright? You...', Sanemi tried to touch his shoulder, but Giyuu's look was different, it was as if he didn't want to be touched by even an insect. 'What do you want?'

Sanemi was confused, why was he acting like this right now? But... Something went through Sanemi's mind. A few words

'Ohhh is anyone angry? Come here!' 'Eahahahaha! Mahahama!', Sanemi felt bad for a moment, his memories, he felt, nostalgic

Sanemi tried to press Tomioka's hip, but Tomioka dodged and hit Sanemi's hand roughly.

'Don't touch me, Shinazugawa', Sanemi blushed slightly, it was a part of Giyuu that although he usually looked so serious, his tone of voice and new gaze surprised him.

Hey, but he hadn't slapped him?

'Did you slap me? Giyuu Tomioka', Giyuu wanted to keep his seriousness but when he turned to answer him, he saw Sanemi cracking his knuckles and laughing.

'Shit', Giyuu thought before running and being chased by Sanemi, which is what I was telling them when the story began.

'AGH!' 'GOTCHA!!', Sanemi played dirty, he really did, he pushed Giyuu hard, very cruel of him.

'Oh no, did you fall? What a problem! Calm down Tomioka! Now that I'm your friend, I'll worry about you, that's why... I'll see if you don't have a broken rib after this fall', well Giyuu, you asked for it

Sanemi and Giyuu fought, Giyuu holding Sanemi's wrists and trying as much as possible not to get

'Sa-Sanemi! No!' 'I won't do anything to you! Be a good friend and stay put!', well, Giyuu will probably win... Who am I kidding? Obviously not-

'DAHAHAHAMN!! SAHAHANEMIHIHI!!! STOHOHOP!!! I'M FIHIHINE!! QUIHIHIT IT!!' 'Mmmmm let's see, there doesn't seem to be a problem here, nor here, hey stop moving! You can get hurt!', Sanemi pressed between each space of his ribs, 'checking' that Giyuu wasn't hurt.

'STAHAHAP!! YOHOHOU DAHAHAHAMN DOHOHORK!!!' 'Oi, who are you calling an idiot, huh?', Sanemi positioned himself on Giyuu's upper ribs, digging right into that spot and smiling as Giyuu's laughter increased.

'What's up Tomioka? You should thank me for the fact that you're fine!' 'FAHAHAHAHACK!!! *gasp* SANEMI!!! *snort* *hipcup* ENOHOHOHUGH!!! *scream* WAHAHAHA!!!!', Sanemi smirked, but didn't stop

Giyuu kicked, begged, writhed, yelled, snorted, and squealed for mercy for almost 2 minutes, until finally Sanemi stopped and let him go.

'Well, now will you tell me why you were like this?', he received no answer. 'Tomioka?', nothing.

'Hey, I'm talking to you-!', Sanemi shook Tomioka, but still, he received no response.

'TOMIOKA?!', Sanemi got scared and the only thing he chose to do was give him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, maybe he had gone too far?

He approached willingly, until Giyuu opened his eyes and kissed him.

'I worry you, don't I?', Sanemi blushed and pushed him away, crossing his arms as Giyuu laughed and stood up.

Sanegiyuu is a punch to the gut ship for me because it’s really just about two people with almost identical experiences in life but completely different demeanors that make them enemies, but you know that if they knew the full details of each other’s stories and what they go through on a daily basis, there would be a genuine connection there. But it’s so… I don’t wanna say wrong place wrong time, because I don’t think it applies all that well, but you know that if Giyuu wasn’t so harsh with his words, or if Sanemi didn’t jump to anger, they would have something real and good. I guess I can at least hope they get there sometime after the war :’)

okayy so i (as someone desperately looking for interaction between any and all characters i have taken liking to) am convinced while he's extra careful to not make it public, sanemi has his fair share of tickle spots that tengen unfortunately knows about. i'm also a dedicated sanegiyuu shipper so tengen, at some point, probably also noticed that they're kinda dancing around each other and thought something like "hm if giyuu knew that sanemi isn't always that grumpy this might work out" and his solution was to expose sanemi.

Heyo friend! Welcome back! :D Not gonna lie, as I fellow Sanegiyuu shpper, I screamed when I got this. This is so freaking cute OH MY GOD! I absolutely loved making this, and I hope you like it!

“I love a good love story,” Tengen mused out loud, leaning into his hand as he watched the pair dance around one another. “But pinning is simply not flashy enough for me.”

“Hm? Did you say something, Uzui?” Giyu looked up, brows furrowing.

“Ignore him- he’s just muttering to himself.” Sanemi glared, the look making Giyu stiffen up, even if it wasn’t aimed at him. Tengen grinned.

“Now now, Sanemi. How are you going to make any progress here if you're constantly wearing that sour look?” He got up and waltzed over, winking at Giyu as he threw an arm around the Wind Hashira’s shoulders. “You can’t catch flies with Vinegar. And you certainly can’t catch a water hashira’s heart with a broken fishing net.”

“What-How-I-get off me!” Sanemi stammered, face flushing a rather endearing shade of red as he struggled to shove Tengen off. Giyu was fortunately too far away to hear that last bit, tilting his head curiously as he watched them. “What? Did he say something?”

“It’s none of your damn business!” Sanemi snarled, embarrassment sharpening his tongue. Tengen tsked.

“Now now, what did I just say?” He smiled at Giyu, the arm around Sameni pressing further as his hand reached out. “Don’t mind him, Giyu. He’s like a tree- all bark.” Fingers curled, and Sanemi jerked- a strangled noise escaping his lips. “Let me show you something really flashy, yeah?”

“Tengen, you son of a- Gah! Sto-ahp it!” Sanemi snorted, squirming as Tengen’s fingers continued to curl along his chest, earning more reluctant giggles and laughs. “Doohohohn’t do this in frohohohnt of Gihihihihyu!”

“Why not? You’re not afraid to show him your grumpy self, why not your giggly one?” Tengen snickered as he brought his other hand into the mix, squeezing Sanemi’s hip and earning a squeak. “He’s rather cute, wouldn’t you agree, Giyu?”

The brunette was stunned, eyes wide as he watched Sanemi finally break free. Even with his cheeks red and an annoyed retort on his lips, he was smiling. Not his usual sinister one- but a rather soft one- something sweet and gentle.

‘Yeah…” He breathed, a faint blush passing over his cheeks as he felt himself smile. “Really cute.”

Sanemi gaped, eyes wide. Giyu hid in his sleeves.

“My work here is done.” Tengen grinned, leaving them be.

I made this before butta imma post it again.

Huge power gaps are fun to play with So I had an idea again.

So Sugar momma Fem Giyuu... well not momma yet as she is still in highschool (18) on her third year.

Thing is, her sister married a super rich man when she was 12 or so, and now she has to deal with many assasins and death threats and stuff like that.

Giyuu didn't tell them about this to Tsutako because she handled herself pretty good, but then the information that she almost died because her school had an explosion gets leaked to Tsutako's husband and he instantly goes ape shit. She was only 14 at the time.

Tsutako's husband sends her for three years to study abroad in an isolated island that only he and Tsutako know off. And that is heavily guarded, and also has above the top scholars teaching her.

Once she reaches 16 she begs Tsutako and her husband to let her go to a normal school on her last year in highschool so she can experience what it is like to be, you know, a normal school girl.

Tsutako agrees and after much hesitation and a bit of guilt, her husband does also.

But he doesn't just let her go freely, oh hell no, for he has set up 3 of his best bodyguards(he has more but shh) to guard Giyuu and prevent anything from happening. Luckily those 3 guards have the same age as her(coincidence? Uhehe).

Those guards are:

Shinazugawa Sanemi- Who has been given the role of the delinquent at school because of his many scars from the battlefields. Not much is known about him as he is the only one who doesn't have a background with the Tomiokas and just recently joined.

Urokodaki Sabito- The prominent student who has trained under Urokodaki Sakonji, the best martial arts trainer in all of Japan and his former teacher. The kid has been given the  role of the president of the kendo club, and well, even if they hadn't given him that title, he would've still earned it after defeating the club president.

Rengoku Kyojuro- Youngest of them all by one year but the oldest one of his family. The Rengokus where the right hand  man of the corporation and had been doing so for ages. He was given the role of student council president due to this. With his great charisma and justice-like nature, he managed to win by a landslide.

They have been given 3 rules to follow.

1. Above all else, Giyuu's safety comes first. If she is injured in any way, psychologically, physically or mentally, there will be GRAVE consequences. They will lay your life for her if you need to (Oh angst~).

2. Hiding your identity is crucial, especially towards Giyuu, she must never EVER find out that she has been given protection because the main goal of this was to give her a normal high school experience.(Oof imagine how that is going to play out~)

3. Don't make strong relationships that could potentially ruin the mission, that means not falling in love or make strong friendships as anyone, and it really does mean anyone, could be the enemy. (Uehehehe~ Tsutako's husband knows that Giyuu's beauty is unrivaled, he did marry her sister duh.)

Due to the rules being so strict it seems that shy girl Giyuu(but somehow popular *cough*Komi-San vibes*cough*) gets to be involved in a love squabble between the kendo club president, the student council president and the infamous delinquent.

At least that what is seems for her since the only thing she has learned about highschool was from reading romance stories with her sister.

[I might do this once I reach my third year possibly, maybe use my school as a template since there are so many ways where they could've planted a bomb here and there, or where there could be some amazing battle scenes :D)

Originally I was planning to have only Sanegiyuu but these 4 are just great at being a mess.

We have dense af Giyuu who doesn't understand how the world works because she is rich and isolated. Then Down to earth Sanemi who has been through shit and gets mildly irritated as he sees Giyuu spent a lot of money that isn't even hers (or is it~). (Giyuu may or may not get along with the middle schoolers during these who - Oh my goodness, it seems that they might have ties to tragic backstories(TM).

Have some soft Sanegiyuu Headcanons

- Sanemi and Giyuu laying under wisteria trees while the sound of fūrin chiming in the distance lulls them both to sleep.

- Giyuu gets into the habit of presenting his cheek/forehead to Sanemi for hello/good-bye kisses. Sanemi secretly finds this endearing, but always pretends to be annoyed when leaning in to give the other a kiss.

- Sanemi is a cuddler. Giyuu finds this out early on in their relationship when he woke up to Sanemi basically cuddling him to death in their sleep one night.

- Giyuu likes it when Sanemi brushes his hair. It's calming for the both of them & sometimes, the gentle brushing puts Giyuu to sleep.

- Giyuu likes to trace Sanemi's scars and in turn, Sanemi will talk about the stories behind his scars. Giyuu always makes sure to pay close attention to the stories. He likes getting to know the Sanemi of the past, and especially loves to learn about they developed him into the present version of himself.

'TOMI-' 'Shh!!', Tomioka placed his finger for silence, pointing at the sleeping hashira. Tengen listened and lowered his voice, apologizing. 'Can I sit with you?', he didn't wait for an answer and sat next to the hashira, looking at him with enthusiastic eyes.

'What's happening?' 'Oh nothing nothing! I just wanted to know how your relationship is going!' Tengen raised his eyebrows and smiled, Tomioka gave his arms a little pinch, indicating that Muichiro was asleep and not to do anything to wake him up. 'What relationship are you talking about?' 'You already know! Yours with you know who!', another pinch. 'Shinazugawa and I... We're not a couple,' Tomioka crossed his arms, trying to understand why Tengen looked that way and laughed.

'I never said names Tomioka~' 'Oh shit...', he thought, they had already figured it out and knowing Uzui, he wouldn't leave him alone until he got the truth out of him.

'Admit it! The wind hashira caught your attention!', another. 'I don't know what you're talking about, I just assumed it was about him, it's not that I like him or we have some secret relationship...', he turned his head, with slightly embarrassed cheeks. 'Mmm~ I see! So you want a little incentive to confess it, huh?', Giyuu understood everything, but he couldn't do anything, Muichiro was asleep on his lap and if he ran away he would hurt him, Giyuu shook his head trying to negotiate with Uzui while holding the feeling what caused him.

'Uhuhuzui-san, nonono!' 'Oh, come on! I haven't done anything and you're already laughing! Come here little one!'

Uzui's quick fingers dug into Tomioka's ribs, moving rapidly around his entire ribcage. 'You better not move or yell! Muichiro can wake up, remember?' 'U-U-!!', both hands tried to stop him, but in a single instant they were taken from the wrists and placed on his head. 'Nohoho! Dohohon't!! Muichiro is-!!! ECK!!', it only took a few seconds for Tomioka to try to get out of the grip of his hashira partner, but in terms of strength, Uzui beat him by a lot. 'Oh, come on! I know you like them! This and Shinazugawa'

'TEHEHEHENGEEN!! MEHEHERCY!! NOT THERE!! NOT THEHEHERE!! GEHEHET OHOHOFF!!', Tomioka yelled, helpless, he couldn't do anything, nothing but suffer from Tengen's chaos

'Oh come on! Admit it! Admit it and I'll let you go!', Uzui let go of Tomioka's hands, only to dig all his fingers into his ribs and belly, causing the younger boy to kick his legs and wave his arms desperately. 'STOHOHOP!!! DOHOHOHON'T MAHAHAKE MEHEHEHE!! WHY?! PLEHEHEHAHAHAHAHHAHSE!!! YOU'RE-!! OHOHH MY GOHOHOSH!!', Tomioka felt his cheeks burn with embarrassment, as tears were not about to fall.

'Say it~!' 'FUHUHUCK!! OK! I LIHIHIHIKE IHIHIT!!'

'What do you like? Sanemi or tickling?', Uzui squeezed Tomioka's sides, making him squeal. 'BOHOHOTH!! I SAHAHAID IHIHIT!! MERCY!! MEHEHEHERCY!!' 'Ok ok, I got what I wanted', Uzui finally let him go, Giyuu just chose to curl up while trying to get rid of the ghostly tickles. But... Wasn't Muichiro sleeping on his lap?

'Hey, where's Mui-?!', Tengen felt a sting in his armpits. 'Hehehehe! Wahahait! WHO?!' 'It's me, you woke me up and I'm not in a good mood, so you'll bear my wrath... Besides, you bothered Nii-Chan!', Muichiro squeezed his sides, with all the strength he had, which was enough for the sound hashira will start laughing, I don't think he will get out of this so easily, because in a matter of seconds, Giyuu also joined Muichiro

I’ve been tossing this idea back and forth for a while because the fic is definitely going to be at least 30k words at this point (probably more) and like, that’s a lot to revise in one go akdjsjdjsk so what I believe I’m going to do, since I’ve split the story up into chunks based on the pov of the character, is I’m going to post those chunks as chapters and revise as I go along, if that makes sense. Like I’ll revise the first chapter, post it, then move onto the next chapter and do the same thing. I want to wait until the story is completely finished tho so I won’t somehow lose motivated or take months to get the whole thing posted.
