been thinking about a check please sandlot au for a long time and it’s like. it’s high school because the kids in the sandlot are all like 11 and.. no. but basically the samwell high school baseball team is really only for kids who have enough money to pay their way in. Jack and Shitty joined the team their freshman year but all of the kids were horrible and mean and they hated jack for being better than them and they hated shitty for being a better person and by the time they were sophomores the horrible kid’s horrible mothers got them kicked off with not to much pushback because being on that team was awful. but of course jack can’t not play baseball and so him and shitty got with some other kids at samwell who aged out of little league but didn’t have enough money for the highschool team and they put together their own team just so that they can all keep playing.

Anyways Bitty moved from madison at the beginning of the summer, and his neighbor larissa is trying to convince him to come play baseball with her and her friends. He tells her no at first because he’s only played one horrendous season of t ball when he was 6 and he doesn’t even have a glove. she tells him to come anyways, they really just need someone on the team to make nine players. someone’ll have a spare glove, and she’s the pitcher so she’ll make sure to throw some easy ones his way in the beginning. so.. okay. bitty will play.

#will i ever actually write this? who knows #i don’t have much more of the plot for this but just the parallels absolutely kill me #especially between jack and benny. their lack of nickname thing and how personal their sport is to them i just #i have like an idea about jack reacting to bitty and how he has to be reminded that they’re really all doing it for fun and to lay off a bit #and also about jack spending extra time helping bitty with batting and throwing and everything #and i adore the idea of bitty announcing for jack’s team. i can’t believe i haven’t found a bitty sports announcer au yet #i have everyone’s positions in my head too. also some parallels to some of the sandlot kids but nothing super concrete #possibly controversial but shitty is the catcher rather than chowder #shitty’s catcher vibes are just too strong to ignore #chowder’s shortstop though #and lardo is absolutely the pitcher it makes sense to me. she’d have a whole arc about how it’s the only team they’ll let her play on #cause after a certain age they stop letting girls play little lean and softball just isn’t the same #sandlot au

romelukas actors au!!

one is unhinged big blockbuster swedish actor—such as Dignity, Inside the Realm of Westwood, Dark Cubicle Tunnel, etc. who always lose at the oscars due to several scandals. and one is flop nepo baby who never make a breakthrough except his 10 minutes cameo in his “Joyful Land” in his teenage era (following by his debut in several flop cancelled tvs we don’t have to discuss). first encounter was at the met gala 5 years ago. they were having silly and quite nasty fight at the after party event bc drunken lukas spilled a lot of wine to roman (check tmz footage). after that night, we only get a slightest passive aggressive interviews/press when rome called him “inhuman fucking dogman” and lukas refer to him as “floppest gremlin in the upper west side”.

it’s official they will be back at the awards ceremony convention this year after a phenomenal blockbuster hit last summer that set a new record of being cinema rivals for 3 months straight. rome with “just another beginning in the sandlot” and lukas with “terrifier”. everyone on lbxd been calling “justified” in short (the closest we could get as barbenheimer successor) for nearly 2 years in cinema dire. we needed that. sadly, both are robbed of their nomination in this awards season. how come the two of the most important role last summer didn’t get an oscar nod except for ensemble? ofc because lukas came for another scandal and even tho rome had more than 1hour screen time, he seems to be enjoying himself as regular non awardee and never really campaign as hard as everyone despite having backup from waystar studios. we believe they never met after #that incident (publicly). will they finally burn their grudges tomorrow at the after party? only time will tell.

a FAVORITE concept of mine is from @atinylittlepain with their series Hungry Hearts!! 80s joel miller teenage romance that has sandlot mixed with john hughes vibes and an incredibly bad ass reader nicknamed cherry that flashes forward to joel & cherry meeting again as adults and it is just MY FAVORITE adaption of like neighbor/no outbreak au but also like gin creates such a world with their words. INCREDIBLE.

11. memorable ending

a recent but immediate favorite is from lovely bea @cupofjoel with her one shot A Matter of Time. i am obsessed with fics written from joel's POV and bea just beautifully took a look into that fictional man's brain and created something gorgeous. and the ENDING god it made me kick my feet and giggle after i gasped.
