punk spot and goth sarah stuff 🫰
i also made playlists of the kind of music i think they'd listen to :') you can listen to spot's here. most tracks fall under the hardcore subgenre, but there's also a good amount of ska and pop. generally has a chaotic, garage, and/or dated kind of sound, really wanted the kind of stuff that scratches my brain in a specific, rough way
there's also sarah's playlist, which i'm less confident about because i'm wayyy more immersed in punk subculture and music. but. i tried! some gothic rock, mostly punkabilly and gothabilly. i feel like she'd be into music that has that campy slasher feel, so that's the overall mood i was gunning for

i have recently been made aware that it’s not normal to feel discomfort and disgust when people use your given name? like that’s not what everyone who doesn’t like their name means when they say they don’t like their name?? hearing mine makes me cringe and sometimes even makes my skin crawl or my stomach drop and you’re telling me most people don’t experience this????

I was gonna do like. Silly art to celebrate pride with some riptide pride hcs but like. It is the most basic takes ever and I'm bad at art so:
Jay: they/she, bi, trans
Chip: he/they, panromantic, demisexual
Gil: any pronouns, biromantic, asexual
Yeah that's it. Not taking criticism bc I'm correct.

i find it very interesting and odd how people react when someone (who is very much in the public eye) comes out as trans and changes their name... on letterboxd if you have any reviews of elliot page's movies before he came out, you're expected the change his name if you wrote it out in your review... and they'll even go to reviews from like OVER A DECADE AGO and say "um it's elliot now bro, you should change this 🤓☝️" but it's so funny cause it just feels revisionist to me like... did elliot himself ask you to do that? did he ask you to forget that he was ever "ellen"? it's really odd because it's almost always cis lgb people doing this and they never stop to wonder if they shouldn't bother simply because it doesn't hurt anything. if someone was deadnaming him ON PURPOSE AFTER THE FACT, then i completely understand why you would comment on the review and whatnot - but it's just crazy seeing a review from like 2016 that says "i love elliot page 🩷" because you just know that they went back and changed it. i can understand why it makes people uncomfortable... but it's weird that we don't allow trans people themselves to control the narrative on things like this, y'know? are we entitled to change a review simply because you're deadnaming him NOW even though you weren't when you wrote the review 5 or 6 years ago? does elliot want people to act like he was never "ellen"? or is it more likely just that it makes cis lgb people uncomfortable because thry think they need to have a strict adhereance to things like this - so much so that they wish they could go back in time so they never wrote his deadname, even if there's no way they would have known his inner life at the time 🤷♀️

oh yeah my mom was talking to someone at the store who complimented her hair and when I came over to them she said “oh, is that your son?” and my mom said yes and my heart swelled with joy she’s come so far with accepting me. Someone called me her son a few weeks ago and she used “she” for me to subtly correct them but I told her like “hey, what if we just like.. don’t correct them” and she actually listened I’m kinda stunned

tbh I think making "transgender" synonymous with "MTF/FTM/sometimes nb person" instead of having it be a term for gender diversity in general was a mistake. same with dropping trans* as a term to signify the diversity of the trans community as including transsexuals transgenders transvestites. it feels like our culture is so aggressively "EVERYTHING needs to be clearly categorized nuance and grey areas are the devil" that everything we come up with (including "nonbinary") to be a purposefully vague umbrella term ends up being associated with One Single Identity. like I prefer the way Leslie Feinberg uses "transgender" & I think it makes so much more sense!!! To group trans men & women and also nonbinary people and crossdressers and gender deviants of all kinds in one community rather than drawing a sharp line between trans people as people who completely reject their AGAB & people who had a queer relationship with gender.

Be honest: do you think there are femboys who aren't just eggs?
Yes, and tbh I resent that their existence is questioned so much. And I know this is gonna be considered a Bad Take by many people I've fostered a community with, so uh. Yeah.
As a former femboy, and current dykey/tomboyish trans woman, gender nonconformity within your actual gender is an essential part of a trans or genderqueer identity. In a lot of ways, my transition goals are the inverse of being a femboy- I'm going from a feminine man to a masculine woman. And yet, the trans community doesn't question my feminimity as a masculine woman in the same places where many people would question the masculinity of a feminine man. And don't even get me started on where NB identities fit into all of this. This is largely coming from the same place where people are okay with women wearing pants, but men or AMABs in general wearing skirts is Bad (tm).
Like don't get me wrong. The caricature of the Bad Trans pushing all the femboys to become eggs is a wildly overexaggerated, and I've met many, many femboys online that used that caricature to excuse rampant transphobia. But. I hate that there's a but. But.... I literally experienced it myself many times during my femboy days, especially online. Here's a short list:
-Had a transmed bombard me with harassing messages and comments on reddit telling me that I was a "fencesitter" and I just needed to "fucking transition already and stop making trans people look bad"
-Had a trans woman I knew irl shove an estradiol pill in my face, and try to order me to take it, in front of a group of people I wasn't even fully comfortable presenting as a femboy to, until she was eventually asked by someone else to stop.
-Had several comments indicating that I should be force femmed in femboy subreddits
-Had many, many DMs trying to tell me I was a "failed man" that should just transition already
And to clarify- all of this is so, so mild compared to transphobia that myself and others face. But it is a very real thing that happens. To many femboys, I think this is the first time they've received any kind of queerphobia or questioning of their identity, so it feels far worse in their heads than it really actually is. And, to be fair, I think it mostly happens from the more gender binary minded cis community than it comes from trans people- but as I've said, I've had it coming from trans women both irl and online.
I've also tangentially noticed that it seems to be transmed adjacent. Not saying that this anon is, or others who try to encourage femboys to explore their gender, but there certainly is a correlation. If its difficult for you to acknowledge cis gender nonconformity, then its easy to see that extending to a lack of understanding of nonbinary people or others with different trans experiences.
Every time one of these things happened, it didn't put me any closer to transition. It made me feel unsafe. It made me feel on the spot, and scared, and almost outed.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again- if you want historical parallels to femboys, we have a perfect example in drag. Drag is performative, over the top femininity that has become its own artform, style, and means of expression in a way that is intrinsically tied to gender nonconformity. Being a femboy is also all of those things. And guess what? Many drag queens have used it as a way to explore their own gender and realize that they're trans. There are also many who are cis, and remain confident in that identity. Is the percentage of trans people among people who have done drag at some point higher than the general population? Of fucking course- its one of the few places where exploring gender is encouraged and celebrated. Of course trans people flock to that. And the exact same thing is true of femboys. Are a higher proportion of femboys trans or eggs than the general population. Of course. It's a great venue for trans people to explore their identities. But even more of them are
Am I saying you're a bad person if you encourage femboys and gender nonconforming people to consider the possibility that they're trans? Of fucking course not. It was the gentle, affirming pressure with respect and care for my comfort levels from several incredible trans women I know irl that eventually made me confident enough to start HRT. Their continually support is a key factor in my social transition plans for the future. I needed that pressure, and I think everyone, including people who aren't actively engaging in gender nonconformity, needs some push to question their gender and start unlocking cis+. But to be blunt, questioning whether cis femboys even exist is not gentle, comfortable, and affirming pushes.

ohhhhg ky god i LOVE how u write shamura's non-binaryness ,,,, sorry if that sounds weird but it's EXACTLY what i think abt my own identity too. i am not a boy or a girl i am just tha darkness between stars and the last beats of a dying heart
(i also love kallamar having 'too much gender' bc ,,, same also KEBEKRYDJSYEJ)
I finished this yesterday but Home Stuff was happening and I couldn't post it, ANYWAY- WOW THE WHOLE TRANSGENDER GANG HAS ARRIVED! And...specifically the pre-injury versions because I just am tired of drawing bandages! I'm actually really happy you liked how I wrote shamura's gender explanation thing because like...I've always gotten euphoria from things that aren't other people, but felt like it was a weird thing to do? I made a joke comic about it forever ago where my gender envy was stuff like john carpenter's the thing, the collector from darkest dungeon, and the mystery flesh pit monster. So having a freaky eldritch spider cult leader be canonically nonbinary and having their gender be respected by the other characters was like a dream come true for me, ESPECIALLy since there's enough wiggle room to make my own interpretation of what they are. If anyone can see themself in the way I write these guys then tbh that's all I could ever hope for, so I'm really grateful you let me know your thoughts!!
My hc's for the family is definitely shamura being voidpunk, kallamar being genderfluid, and leshy is just a Dude. A Funny Little Guy. Idek why I strongly feel like he's transmasc but it's probably the fact I grew up with a transmasc younger brother who's also a little shit lmao--

Hi! Can I request Alastor x NonBinary!Reader? Like how would he react/learn about it?
hii sure thing! heres some headcanons! i struggled to write a decent bit because i honestly dont think he would care (or understand) at all, but i hope you like 'em!
Alastor x Nonbinary!Reader
Alastor x Reader (headcanons)
TW: brief mention of transphobia, but nothing upsetting or graphic
join my discord!
◈ ══════════ ◈ ══════════ ◈ ══════════ ◈
Tbh i dont think Alastor really understands the concept of gender outside of male/female
But he would support you either way
Probably finds out through one of the other hotel residents who correct him on a pronoun
Or he saw you looking at your body in the mirror, upset about something
“Why do you look so critically at yourself?”
You hesitated to tell him at first
I mean, he died in the ‘30s. People who died in the modern age are still super transphobic so you were terrified what he would think
You started with explaining how you felt dysphoric sometimes, like things in your body just didn’t fit
He made an awkward comment about how your figure was great, that you were a beautiful (man/woman)
Then you tried to explain how that was the problem, how you didn’t want to be labeled that way
If you prefer to look androgynous, he would actually surprisingly understand the idea. Sort of.
“Ah, like Angel Dust! Not an issue, my dear” obviously referring to the male with feminine features
I mean, kind of. Though you preferred not looking one way or another, you could tell he was trying his best to act like he understood
As an overlord in hell, he’s got much bigger things on his mind than worrying about what gender identity somebody else had. It wasn’t that big of a deal to him
Still, he makes sure those around you respect your identity because he knows it’s important to you. Demons in hell can be unnecessarily cruel, so he will hit them back with equal cruelty, either physically or verbally
Nobody can disrespect his partner like that >:(
Definitely the type to say something like “um excuse me she goes by they/them”
He tries though
if you changed your name, it wouldn't take him long to catch on and kind of just forget your deadname
it isn't uncommon for people in hell to go by a different name, so this wasn't any different
Affirmations go crazy when he notices you feeling particularly bad about your figure
Though, he usually opts to just take you out to get your mind off of it
He’s not the best at comfort, but you appreciate the gesture
Rosie has definitely made fun (polite) comments about you and him being a queer couple, though Alastor doesn’t understand these At All
“Huh :D?” is a general response from him
Again, whether or not he fully understands the concept of gender binaries, he would care for you just the same as before

hello am nonbinary 👍 i think a lot of binary trans people fail to recognize the ways they ignore or erase or are unaware of nonbinary trans issues. we are... like, rebinarized, either treated the same as transmale/transfemale or as cismale/cisfemale, when neither of those experiences are accurate or similar to ours (generalizing here, i know transmasc and transfem enbies Exist lol). i dont feel like exorsexism is taken seriously amongst binary trans people.
like... so many nonbinary people talk about having to lie and pretend to be binary trans to endocrinologists to get access to hrt, or not being able to access hrt BECAUSE of their nonbinary transition goals. but when i bring this up, my nonbinary perspective is often overrode in favor of a binary trans perspective (like, "well the gatekeeping hurts binary trans people too, youre not unique"). does that make sense? if i talk about how i feel about the english language's intense gendering and how it will never be possible for me to be "stealth", how i feel like im forcibly recloseted bc of rigidly binary gender roles and will likely die like this, im told that "everyone deals with misgendering". every time i try to talk about something specific to my own experience as a nonbinary trans person, it is derailed
i dont think "binary privilege" is like. a real thing. bc thats not what the word "privilege" means. but there is A Real Difference in how binary trans people are treated vs nonbinary trans people. its like, we should talk about that for the same reason why we talk abt the differences in transandrophobia and transmisogyny. and idk, in my experience, binary trans people dont usually want to talk about that?
I 100% agree, and I think it's a real problem. And I want to be clear that I agree with everything you've said here; I think there is absolutely a real difference in how nonbinary people are treated vs. other trans people, and I think other trans people very often do treat nonbinary folks differently in a way that is genuinely shitty and harmful.
I think we're on the same page about this one, tbh. I'm a little tired of the idea of "binary privilege", but generally for the same reasons that I think "trans male privilege" is nonsense, and that "transandrophobia" as a concept exists without implying that transmascs are oppressed by transfems.
I just think that not everything is an oppression/privilege dynamic, and it's important to be able to talk about unique experiences and lateral aggression without that conversation centering around arguments about who has it "worse", who's perspectives aren't to be trusted, who's problems aren't real, and which other trans people are the Real Enemy. Which it sounds like you agree with.

also since the ppl foaming at the mouth abt “transandrophobia truthers” love borrowing from antisemitic conspiracy theory rhetoric, i’ll put forth a little conspiracy of my own.
i think the majority of the ppl who go out of their way to harass trans men and mascs and nonbinary ppl who try to talk abt anti masculinity, anti butch rhetoric, and anti transmasculinity are the same demographic as us: other trans men, trans masc people, nonbinary people who were afab. i think they have decided that being “tme” is something to feel guilty about, and when they see other “tme” people not self flagellating over that guilt, it makes them angry. because we should feel miserable and guilty like they do. we should be stuffing out emotions down and falling in line like they do. we should be pandering to cis and white women like they do. and when we don’t, they lash out. i don’t think trans women and femmes have much to do with this at all tbh. there are some who contribute to this, but it’s our own people who are driving this. it’s the same garbage that happened with transmedicalism: trans people who were assigned female at birth panicking when other people deviated from the predetermined path because that “makes all of us look bad.” it’s also the same garbage that happened with aphobia: seeing people with experiences you can’t relate to, and instead of listening to them you decide that they’re lying, that they have to be punished. it’s the same absolute garbage that happens every time in trans subsections of the internet that are primarily inhabited by teenagers and young adults who are insecure in their own identities and don’t know how to cope with that without lashing out.
and all i have to say to that is: it’s time to grow up. get your shit together. realize that burying your head in the sand is not going to protect you from the things we are talking about. it’s not going to protect you from anti trans bans. it’s not going to protect you from bigots. it’s not going to save you. you are going down right alongside us, no matter how badly you try to convince yourself that you won’t. you need to decide right now what your priorities are. you need to decide if all this anger and resentment you have based on hearsay and buzzwords is worth it. because it would be a damn shame if a portion of our community was burned out by hating itself while the rest of us try to make things better.

Sea Stone Effect Headcanons
Anonymous asked: Heey there I hope you have a nice day💕 Sooo I have been binge reading OP hcs and scenarios and wondered what Kid, Law and Katakuri would be like with an s/o who has been experimented on as a child and now touching them has the same effect as sea stone on DF users and they feel bad being around them as it weakens them. It can be hc or scenario, whatever you prefer😊
m.m
Here you go, anon! So sorry it took so long! I hope you enjoy this because I definitely thought your request was interesting!!
Katakuri, Kid, Law x Reader (Gender-Neutral/Nonbinary)
Warnings: A smidge of angst, fluff
Words: ~750
-
Charlotte Katakuri:
I think Katakuri would be the one who wouldn’t mind your situation the most. Mainly because this man is a giant so he already is pretty power with height/weight wise but upon finding out his significant other when touching him makes him feel like he touched sea stone – he is a bit disappointed
However, when he sees that this is making you upset and feeling guilty that he feels weakness when you touch him, he is quick to reassure you that he wants you to touch him and if he didn’t he wouldn’t let you
Only because I imagine he would be really affectionate with his partner, so this definitely cuts into being intimate with them but he will have his moments where he does not mind at all since he can rely on his other family members if things go wrong.
However, when he finds out you were experimented on when you were younger – oh god – all hell breaks loose – he is livid. Who the hell in their right minds would do that? And tbh he really does feel for you since he was bullied for his mouth when he was younger
So if you ever want to talk about it, he is all ears, or if you wish to expose who did the experimenting he could go on a journey for a bit to make sure they are gone forever
Either way, there is no real problem with his significant other having that effect on him. He will find a way to live with it and make sure you are happy
If you so desire it, he will be willing to see if Big Mom will be willing to find a good scientist to see if they can reverse the effects of the experimenting done on you, otherwise if not, he just cares about your well-being.
He may definitely have you go touch one of his siblings when they annoy him though haha
Eustass Kid:
Kid at first is annoyed from finding out about your condition
The annoyance disappears immediately when he sees how guilty you feel for having touch him and him getting weak due to the effects of your sea stone “curse”
While he may get irritated and angry at times for having the energy zapped from him whether it was on accident or because he just really wanted to hold you and forgot about it, he does try to control his temper since he understands it isn’t your fault
And with that, he is absolutely livid that you were experimented on as a child to be turned into a weapon against devil fruit users
If he ever finds out who did it… well good luck to them
Depending on how determined he can get with this issue, he may find a doctor for you to see if they can help you or anything
And in worst case scenario if he really gets sick of it, the relationship would end up going goodbye : (
Though I don’t see that happening since he cares about his crew and I imagine he would care about his partner in a way that nobody would think would be possible
So despite the setbacks this would provide he makes sure to know that any irritation he has is definitely not your fault… though he may take his anger out on other people lol
Trafalgar Law:
Law is a very… interesting man lol. He would find your situation rather interesting the second he found out about it
However, upon seeing the immediate guilt on your face for making him have a moment of weakness, he knows that this is much worse for you and he wonders who the hell made you feel guilty for something that is not in your control
When you opt to tell him about your past he is horrified that you were experimented on as a child and his inner doctor wants to help
With your permission he would love to see if he can try to reverse it, while his powers are meant for sickness and fatal injuries, he could try and dive into the scientific side for you and he would be very confident in doing so
Have faith in him : )
Lol but in the case you don’t want him to reverse or he can’t, he would just be very reassuring to you that when you touch him and the sea stone effects get to him, it is not your fault and he does not mind one bit as long as it’s preferably not in public

aro culture is being lowkey disappointed in the owl house; i know most people in the community is super hyped that lilith is confirmed aro, but the thing is...it's not confirmed in the show!
look. we've got luz and amity, they're dating, luz is confirmed to be bi in the show (s3e1). we've got multiple nonbinary characters who go by they/them pronouns. there's raine and eda, who used to be dating. all of this is explicit in the show. one character is explicitly shown to have two dads.
but not lilith. the only reason that i know she's aro is that it's been confirmed outside of the show itself
i know i'm just being picky and that i should be happy with the fact that we have an aro character at all, but it's still disappointing...that it seems like everyone else gets it so obvious and we're relegated to this 'canon but not mentioned ever'
when this happens with gay characters so many people get mad, but the same thing happens to lilith and i feel like i haven't seen anyone else mention this
tbh i just don't exactly know why this is acceptable...

Tbh there is no way to shit on straight transmascs without parroting transphobia, lesbophobia, or both.
People who say or imply they wish I was mlm rather than mlw don't realize they are giving me the exact same message I received while growing up as a lesbian; I would be more valuable if I liked men. They don't realize I tried so fucking hard to like men. Or maybe they do realize, and they don't care.
And people who are completely supportive of me liking women, they just wish I liked women as a woman instead of a gross straight man- that's transphobia. It is transphobic to treat me like they would like me better if I was cisgender. And even if they're okay with me being trans, they would rather I be a nonbinary lesbian than a straight trans man. Which is transandrophobia.
If you're giving me shit for being a trans man who likes women, you're either giving me shit for being attracted to women (which isn't progressive now that I'm trans, it was shitty when I was a lesbian girl and it's shitty now), or you're giving me shit for being a trans man (which is blatant transphobia).
Also it's just an asshole thing to do. If we could, like, stop making fun of people for their genders and sexualities? That would be great. Thanks.
