The Third Body - The Causal Body

Suppose we lose the concept of possession for the Gross Body, as well as Subtle Body, and admit to the fact that the bundle belongs to a stranger. Still, we must find the answer to the question “Who am I?” or, “Where am I?”

Let us now go over the definition of the Causal Body.

What is the Causal Body? As soon as we step in here, there is pitch darkness everywhere. Is it possible that this dark Ignorance is the place of residence for this “I”? It surely seems this is his main headquarters. Ignorance seems to be the main property or quality that belongs to him. There is certainly some hope of finding the elusive “I” here. Let us see. If we move about blindfolded searching for it, the “I” is not to be found anywhere in the Causal Body. Here the “I” seems to have even given up his sense of “mine.” There seems nothing that can be called “mine” in this place. Everything seems to be absolutely quiet. That “I” who loudly proclaims “I, |,” so arrogantly in the gross and sbutle bodies, seems to be totally silent here. The “I” seems to be playing hide and seek so that he does not get caught by the one who searches for it. In the Causal Body, the “I” seems to have dug itself into a trench of darkness so that the one making the search might fall in, being forced to end his search.

Dear aspirants, do not be afraid. The Sadguru is standing behind you as well as in front of you, and He will take you safely across this trench of darkness. Many scholars and learned persons have turned their backs at this point and abandoned their search failing, to have faith in the guidance of the Sadguru. For you however, there is no reason to be afraid like them. You have a guide who is avery capable Master, a Samartha Sadguru. (The word Samartha means “The One who knows His Own Significance,” in the highest sense.)

After stabilizing in this darkness of the Causal Body, and firmly planting one’s feet therein for some period of time, a voice is softly heard that says, “l am the witness of this Ignorance.” With this, there arises some courage offering the hope of catching the thief called “I.” With the recognition of this voice who is the witness of the Ignorance, there also comes the thought, “This thief is here somewhere. He may be near, or a little further up, but he is witnessing the Ignorance from somewhere nearby.”

Here the searching takes the form of watching persistently. How this is done will be discussed in the next chapter. The witnessing that is going on is happening from beyond the emptiness of the Causal Body, from the position in the Great-Causal Body (Mahakarana Body), or Turya State. When this is understood, the “I” is quickly overjoyed in finding himself. Who can describe that Joy? In that Joy, the “I” cries out ‘l am Brahman, the Self-Knowledge.”

The Fourth Body - The Great-Causal (Mahakarana) Body

The one who says “I” is really the all-witnessing Brahman. It is He, who is of the nature of Knowledge, the sense of “I Am.” When this certainty is established, there arises wave after wave of Bliss. Afterwards, when this Bliss ebbs away, look at the miracle that happens. After deep thought, one arrives at the recognition that, “I am not even of the nature of ‘Knowledge,’ for just as I am covered with ‘Ignorance,’ in the same way, I am covered with ‘Knowledge.’ I was not originally having any Ignorance or Knowledge. Ignorance and Knowledge were born out of ‘me,’ and were mistakenly taken to be ‘me.’ With the aid of deep thought, it can be seen that the arising of both Ignorance and Knowledge within ‘me,’ points to ‘me’ as their creator. Therefore Knowledge is my child, and I am its father, and as its father, I am prior to, and different from, that Knowledge.”

Brahman

When this sequence of deep discriminative thought dawns within me, the sense that “I am Brahman,” (Aham Brahmasmi) that is the Self-Knowledge in the Great-Causal Body, or Turya State, also starts ebbing away, only to finally be fully eradicated. Then I am absolutely naked, without any covering whatsoever. Arriving here in this nakedness, it cannot be described as to who or what this “I,” is. If you want a description of the “I” who is found here, you may utter any word found in any dictionary, but that is not “I.” This “l’ here, can only be expressed as “Not this, not this.” It is the one who throws light on anything called “this.” You may utter words and sentences to try to describe it, but those are not it. Whatever meaning come forth, you take those to be the description of “I,” but those are not it. If you do not understand what is being told now, you must leave off the words and concepts, and merge in Deep Silence, and see who “I” am.

स्वस्तिरूपेण दक्षते वर्धते, स्वम्ति दान्तुं समर्थ इति वा स्वस्तिदक्षिणः । अथवा, दक्षिणशब्द आशुकारिणि वर्तते; शीघ्रं स्वस्ति दातुम् अयमेव समर्थ इति, यस्य स्मरणादेव सिध्यन्ति सर्वसिद्दयः ॥

Svastirūpeṇa dakṣate vardhate, svamti dāntuṃ samartha iti vā svastidakṣiṇaḥ, athavā, dakṣiṇaśabda āśukāriṇi vartate; śīghraṃ svasti dātum ayameva samartha iti.

1. He who grows in the form of svasti i.e., auspiciousness.

2. He who is efficient in conferring svasti i.e., auspiciousness.

3. The word dakṣiṇaḥ is applied to one who does action quickly. Lord Śrī Mahā Viṣṇu alone is able to confer svasti quickly; for by mere devout thought of Him are realized all siddhis vide the below.

Is there any Intellectual Property (IP) ? Could be trademarks, website, customer data base, trade secrets or just your special herbs and spices recipe. Methods of operation or processes can also be valuable IP to others – it doesn’t just have to be about Patents and Design registrations.

The customer base should also be considered, what and who you consider as a valuable client as an ongoing business may actually be the opposite for the company that may well buy your business.

Are the sales heavily dependent on a particular staff member or worse still the owner? A business that is all about the current owner, is a risky business for the new owner.

Sales and Marketing and IP decisions can dramatically impact on the value of a business, so make sure you start to think about this – well before you want to sell. Allow enough time to alter the aspects that are needed to be, so as optimise the offering and therefore the business value to the right potential buyer.

When business succession occurs, it should maximise the benefit for yourself or your estate from something you have committed time and resources into building.

For short term absences from your business a Power of Attorney is necessary so a person of your choice can step in to manage when you cannot. If you are the sole director/shareholder then the company needs, its own power of attorney so there is an authorised officer of the company to act on its behalf.

For long term you need a valid, up to date will nominating an Executor(s) who has the capacity to deal with business issues and protect company or personal assets for the benefit of the Estate.

If you are in a partnership or a shareholder with others in a company; a partnership or shareholders agreement should be in place to set out how to deal with the death or disability of one of their number.

Planned succession looks at what you would like to do, when you would like to do it and whom to benefit but if time is taken away the other two aims should be achieved. This involves preparing your business and your personal affairs to achieve that outcome.

Today, we have broken the patterns of pandering to colonial vestiges, such as Macaulay's designed Education System, and we are churning out such workforce that's making waves across the globe.. The plus is not just that little kids of today have started software development, but also that we are able to vest our faith in their calibre and in our relevance in today's age of YouTube, FaceBook, WhatsApp, with the last one having become indispensable and a super-useful tool for contacting any person, no matter where you or he/she are.. Now, smartphones are quadrupling as tutors, textbooks and even as trading-agents (in shares and debentures), and I am glad that we Indians have embraced this wave of transformational technology.. While some businesses like Amazon have given us lessons in disruptive business-practices, they are in essence contributing to the globalization that we are aiming at, and to the market-competition scenario that has undergone a sea change.. To cut long story short, our educational system is in for major overhaul and our students, for a truly world-class education experience.. The road to Self-reliance is paved with the five Is of innovation, inventiveness, initiative, inspiration and ingenuity, of our taskforce, comprising all the sections of the society and made more efficient and effective with contribution from personalities from all walks of life.. We must express our interest in and dedication to this cause, that can serve (has agelessly served) as the ultimate game-changer.. Today, even the kind of data packs (daily quota) and their options that Indians enjoy is also one of a kind as compared to developed countries, and we have to give it to the industrialization and the quality-control that our cellular industry eco-system is exhibiting.. All of this is adding to our employability, helping in tapping our potential as job-givers, and as assets (not a liability) in the youngest country of the world (in terms of demography).. No doubting this revolutionary and visionary wave and the capability of those (who are) riding on it successfully and with hard-core ethics and morale-boosting professionalism.. Amen to many such changes to follow, as we are on course to enhance our reputation of a 'force to reckon with', as termed by foreigners who are studying and mentoring India and its edge in the 21st Century..
