You walk through the double doors with a smile on your face because today is another day. You’re alive and that’s the best kind of day. You work for the local police department as their receptionist. You’re the first thing people see when they come in so you have to be on your best behavior.
You set your things down on your desk and quickly get settled in. Besides the Captain, you’re the first one in the building. Every officer that comes in, you greet them with a smile as you log into your computer.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Officer Wilson says when he comes in. He always calls you that since he's often told you how he thinks of you like a little sister. “How was your weekend?”
“Too short,” you chuckle. “Did Sarah get into that college?”
“Yeah, she got the acceptance letter yesterday.”
“Oh, I’m so happy for her!” you grin.
“Yeah, I’ll tell her to give you a call.”
Sam taps your desk twice and leaves to go to his own. A few more officers come in until the one you’ve been waiting for walks in confidently. Your heart starts to race because you have a huge crush on him. He kind of knows it but doesn't outright call you out on it.
“There she is,” Bucky smiles and leans on your desk.
“Officer Barnes, it’s good to see you.”
“Doll, you know you can call me Bucky.”
He knows exactly what those pet names do to you. After a night of drinking together, you let it slip that your kink is pet names, and doll happened to be your favorite. Like him, you won’t call him out on it.
“I know. How was your weekend?”
“Better if you were there with me,” he flirts.
“Oh, Bucky,” you chuckle nervously. “You don’t mean that.”
“Yeah, I do. I was wishing, ‘Man, don’t I wish Y/N was here with me? I guess I have to drink alone’.”
“You know what alcohol does to me.”
“Yeah, I do,” he smirks. “You look cute today. That dress compliments you.”
“A compliment. I might swoon,” you joke even though your cheeks are hot.
“As long as it’s in my arms, I don’t care.”
“Don’t you have a job to get to, Officer Barnes?”
“Yeah, but I’d rather stay here and talk to you.”
“You might get fired.”
“It’s worth it,” he winks. “Here’s your coffee.”
He sets your favorite coffee order next to your keyboard and walks away. That’s the extent of your relationship with Bucky. You two flirt constantly but nothing ever comes of it. It’s comfortable. Why leave something when you’re comfortable being there? Do you wish you were something more? Of course. Do you think he’s going to man up and take it to that next level? Not unless something threatening happened like him realizing if he doesn’t do it soon, he’d lose you.
Some of what your work includes is printing off documents for the other officers, inputting things into evidence before they get shipped off there, and sorting through the files regarding the people they have locked up in the holding cells or interrogation rooms. You already have a list of things to print out and file, but you look for Bucky’s name first.
After printing off what he needs, you get up and personally hand this to him. There is a mailbox for the officers that you’re supposed to put in, but you like visiting his desk. He has a picture of you and him printed out and placed next to his computer that you look at every time you visit.
“Here are the papers you asked for,” you smile.
“Thanks, doll,” he grins and grabs them from you, intentionally brushing his fingers against yours.
You go back to your desk to finish your work, and you come across two people who need stuff put into evidence. One of them sent it over a couple of hours ago, and the other one is from Bucky. You immediately click on his name to get what he needs first before looking at the other one.
“Now that is bullshit,” you hear from behind you.
You jump and turn to see Sam standing there with a half-smile on his face.
“What are you doing? You scared me!”
“I sent you evidence hours ago and Bucky sent you it just now, and he’s the one you pick first?”
“I--”
You don’t have any words for that.
“When are you two gonna fuck?”
“Sam Wilson!” you gasp.
“What? It’s a valid question. I should ask him that.”
“Don’t you dare!”
“I’m rooting for you two no matter how painful the slow burn is,” he chuckles and walks away.
It takes half an hour to get the idea of you and Bucky fucking for you to do your job right. Once you’re in the groove of things, the door opens and an attractive man walks in.
“Can I help you?” you ask with a smile.
“Yeah, I’m here for my brother. He’s in lock up.”
“Okay, what’s his name and date of birth?”
“James Farley. 04/05/1986.”
“Your name?”
“Brandon Farley.”
“Okay, I see your brother here. It looks like--”
“I’m sorry, but I have to tell you how beautiful you are.”
“Oh, thank you,” you blush.
“Are you seeing anyone?”
“No, but--”
“Great. Can I take you out?”
“You can see how this is inappropriate, right?”
“Yeah, but you like it,” he grins. “So, can I take you out?”
There’s a certain charm about him that you find endearing maybe because he reminds you of Bucky. Being put on the spot like that is enough to make you freeze up, so you say the one thing that won’t cause conflict.
“Yes.”
“Here’s my number.”
He grabs your hand and writes his number on it so that it won’t come off with one scrub.
“I have sticky notes!”
“This is better. Now you won’t lose it.”
“Go take a seat. Someone will be with you shortly to bring you to your brother.”
“Thanks,” he winks and walks to the waiting room.
You’re about to get up and wash off the number when you notice Bucky standing in the doorway that leads into the precinct.
“Did I hear that right?”
“What?”
“You have a date?”
“Yeah, he asked me out,” you stutter. Bucky looks pissed as if you just told him you killed someone. “Why do you look angry?”
“Nothing. No reason.”
Bucky walks off angrily leaving you confused. He avoids you like the plague for the rest of the day. He isn’t at his desk when you drop off paperwork, and he’s not there to walk you to your car when you get off. He’s supposed to get off an hour before you do, but he stays after not on the clock to make sure you get to your car safely.
This time, he didn’t.
The next day, Bucky is already at work when you arrive. There is no coffee on your desk, either, and you’re feeling guilty for accepting a date with someone else. Is that why he’s acting this way? Sam walks in drinking an energy drink when you stop him.
“Hey, what’s going on with Bucky?”
“You’re kidding, right?”
“No, what did I do?”
“You accepted a date from someone else.”
You knew it. Why is he bigging out?
“So?”
“Have you not been here for the past two years? You two flirt like crazy.”
“No, he’s just being friendly.”
“You won’t get it until you do,” Sam shakes his head and walks off.
The date with Brandon comes sooner than you hoped. He picks you up in a fancy car and takes you to a fancy restaurant that you could never afford. He smooth-talks the hostess to get him a table by the window so he can have a view while he eats. The waitress brings by a drinks menu but he already orders what you two are going to drink.
“Trust me, you’re going to love this,” he winks at you.
“Okay,” you say and fiddle with your fingers underneath the table. “You know what I do for work. What do you do for work?”
You shouldn’t have asked him that.
“I work in the telecommunications sector. You know that big building in the city? That’s mine. It’s funny. I got all my parents’ money when they died and instead of using that money for myself, I decided to invest in a small company that turned out to give me millions.” You open your mouth to speak but he continues talking. “Can you imagine that? This small company that wasn’t going to go anywhere if it weren't for me. I’m like their hero. They eventually sold their part to me, and I’ve been thriving ever since.”
Once he got to talking about his job, he hasn’t shut up about it since. He’s very arrogant and rude but that doesn’t seem to stop him. As soon as the drinks come, you greedily take yours and down it without caring what it is.
“Whoa, doll, calm down. I don’t need to haul you to the car at the end of the night. You should pace yourself.”
No one can call me that but Bucky. Oh, Bucky. You shouldn’t have said yes to this man. He only asked you out to hear himself talk. You want this date to end so you pretend to be interested in what he has to say. Even when the date is over and he’s driving you home, he won’t shut up. His voice mixed with alcohol is starting to make your head throb.
About halfway to your house, you see red and blue lights behind you.
This better not be him, you think to yourself. Brandon pulls the car over obediently and waits for the officer to approach him. You look through the mirror to see the outline of the officer and recognize it immediately. He better not. I swear to God… Instead of walking to the driver’s side door, Bucky walks over to your door and leans down so only you can see him.
“Step out of the vehicle, please.”
“No.”
Bucky takes a deep breath to calm himself down. He leans in so close that you can smell his delicious cologne. That makes your head spin.
“I’ll repeat myself. Step out of the car.”
“Or what? You’re gonna drag me out?”
“Don’t tempt me, doll,” he says so only you can hear it.
“Is there a problem, Officer?” Brandon asks.
“Yes. You have a busted taillight.”
“Fuck! You’ve got to be joking, sir.”
“No, sir, I’m not.”
“Shit. Officer, I can promise you I keep this car in the utmost pristine condition.”
“Not today, buddy. That’s a ticket.”
Bucky takes out his pad and writes Brandon a hefty ticket for a broken taillight you’re not sure is even broken.
“Fuck!” Brandon turns to you without guilt on his face. “Look, do you mind if I drop you off right here? Your house is only down the road. You can get there from here, right?”
Your mouth drops open in shock.
“Don’t worry, I’ll take her home,” Bucky offers.
“Thank you. I’ll call you.”
You don’t say anything as you get out of the car. Bucky walks you to the passenger side of his cruiser. You look at the taillights of Brandon’s car and notice they’re both working properly.
“What the fuck, Bucky?” you yell when he gets in the driver’s seat. “His taillights are broken! You can’t just do that. That’s illegal!”
“He’ll fight against it, and I’ll drop the charges,” he shrugs.
“You’re un-fucking-believable. We were actually having a good time,” you lie.
“No, you weren't,” he laughs.
“How do you know that?”
“It’s written all over your face. Your eyes don’t have the usual light.” Bucky pulls onto the road and heads in the direction of your house. “I don’t know why you would accept the date in the first place.”
“Because at least he had the fucking balls to ask me.”
That puts the entire car ride into a tense silence. He doesn’t say anything for the rest of the ride home. He pulls up to your place but instead of letting you get out first, he gets out and walks over to your side of the car. He opens the door but doesn't let you leave the car. He leans into the car, grabs your chin, and kisses you. You’re shocked but you won’t pull away from him. Both your lips move in harmony against one another, and he slides his tongue into your mouth to show you he means business.
“You’re not allowed to see other men.”
“Why not?” you ask, breathlessly.
“Because you’re mine now and I’m not gonna let you go.” This brings a smile to your face. He lets you get out, and when you pass by him, he taps your ass lightly. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Doll.”
Yes, you will.

Uncle Buck
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Single Aunt!Reader
Summary: You take your nephew to a Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson Q&A event. The mischievous 8-year-old asks if he can get in line to ask a question. Against your better judgement you agree and let him go up by himself.
Word Count: 626
Masterlist: One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six
A/N: I had no intention to write anything on this account but here we are. Excuse the mess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A young boy - 8 years old, dark hair and eyes full of mischief - walks up to the microphone.
"Hi, I have a question for Bucky..." He asks shyly.
The moderator nods, "What's your question for him, little man?"
The boy looks over at the seats nearby behind him and smirks, turning back to the stage with some more confidence this time.
"Will you marry my Aunt?"
The crowd let's out collective gasps, giggles, and awws. There's some cheering and a loud "OW OWWWW."
You inhale quickly and choke on your own air supply, trying to compose yourself. "BENJAMIN!!!"
You're horrified and shrink down in your seat while pulling your hood up over your head for added cover.
While you contemplate the fastest way to snatch the little traitor and get out of there as swiftly as possible you hear Sam's loud laugh echo through the room.
"I assume that was your Aunt and you're Benjamin?" Bucky asks while smirking.
Tiny traitor nods while grinning ear to ear. "I'm Benji, Auntie's name is Y/n and she thinks you're sooo handsome," he exaggerates with an eye roll, "and she's super fun and pretty and you'd be the coolest unc--"
Exit plan secured you jump out of your seat and rush over to cover his mouth and pull him back from the mic. Your hood still up and head ducked down.
"You said you were asking about the mechanics of his arm, you tiny little punk," you mutter at him but the microphone still picks up what you said.
While you have him secured in a headlock you quickly speak into the mic, avoiding all eye contact. "I apologize, I've never met this child before... I'm going to return him to the proper authorities immediately."
Picking your nephew up as quickly as you can, you toss him over your shoulder. His fit of giggles exploding while he tries yelling out again, "But he hasn't answered yet!"
"He's free later tonight, Aunt Y/n!" Sam shouts while you retreat to the back of the conference room towards the exit. "Your future family seems nice," he jokes while nudging Bucky's arm.
Benji tries to shout back across the room, "SHE IS FREE TOO!! EVERY NIGHT!!"
You shove the exit door open, "You're so dead. On my pick up days for school I will be blasting every embarrassing song I can find with the windows down. I'm going to start saving now and I will be buying every ad space available in your future yearbooks and I will be plastering them with your baby photos. And not the cute ones." Like this kid ever took a photo that wasn't cute.
***
The two of you walk around a food truck area set up outside the conference space. Benji is happily eating a pretzel you only bought so your sister wouldn't kill you for neglecting her child. You grab a seat at a small table to people-watch while he finishes up his undeserved treat.
You let your hood down, setting your vibrant and wild hair free. The color is easy to pick out in a crowd.
Benji is explaining in great detail the plot to a video game he has been playing with his friends and how one level keeps tripping them up.
The chair next to you slides back, "Is this seat open?" A deep voice asks.
Benji grins, "Yes!"
You already know who it is, but you're still startled when you look over and see none other than Bucky Barnes sitting with you and the small trouble matchmaker.
"So... is the potential cool Uncle position still available?" He smirks, hand on his chin looking over at both of you.
This little punk might be getting free pretzels and ice cream for life.

You don’t know how you manage not to choke when you hear Sam.
“You need to start dating, man!”
Natasha snorts, amused all of a sudden, leaning into you.
“Watch him get red.”
But you don’t answer her, a little nervous about how this will go. What if he agrees? Even worse, what if he’s already dating someone?
“You’re getting old.”
“I think you mean older,” Bucky tries to say, but Sam doesn’t seem to even pay attention.
“You are practically forty, man.”
Bucky immediately rolls his eyes. “I have a few years left until forty, Wilson. And even if I was forty, is that old now?”
You notice everyone, including Sam’s sister, listening to their conversation, and you feel like an outsider. You know all of them, you even came to their occasional gatherings, but you aren’t close to anyone but Bucky.
“No, but you’re not getting any younger.”
“You sound like a grandpa.” You watch Bucky a sip from his glass of water. “Plus, I have my girl.”
He has a girl?
Natasha turns her face to you and you make a great effort not to look back. She would see right through you.
“Oh come onnn, your cat doesn’t count!”
“Cat?” Natasha asks. “I thought he meant,” she points at you, finishing her sentence, and you gasp. You can barely hear what she’s telling you. “I thought you were his girl.”
You blush, you know you do based on how hot your cheeks feel, and you notice how everyone but Bucky stares at you. But before you can say anything, Sam snorts amused.
“Barnes could neverrr. Too young and sweet for his ass.”
“God, why are you so noisy? My love life is none of your business!” Bucky snaps and turns from Sam to Natasha as he speaks. “And of course she is not my girl. Does it seem to you she is my girl?” The sharp cold tone makes you freeze for a couple of seconds, and so do the others, completely shocked. It almost sounded as if he… maybe he is disgusted by the idea of you being his girlfriend. Ashamed of this moment and your own feelings, you look away.
“Alright, alright. Calm your tits down!”
You don’t hear the rest of the conversation, you block everything out as you stare at your hands. You’re on the verge of crying and you have to bite your cheek really hard not to. It’s embarrassing. But the fact that he actually rejected you without rejecting you makes everything harder to handle.
For a little while, you even pretend everything’s alright as you drink some water, but in reality, you can barely breathe. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom, excuse me.”
You leave as quickly as you can before having a breakdown right there.
You take a few minutes, trying to calm down and control your emotions as you wash your face. Your eyes are slightly red, but not red enough for people to notice. When you close the door, you jump seeing Bucky in the hallway. “Hey. Are you okay?”
He analyzes you for a few seconds, trying to make sure you’re fine. He knows you hate this type of interaction and attention, but he didn’t realize how bad it is. He should have punched Sam instead of talking.
“Hey. Uhm, do you mind if I leave? I don’t feel very well.”
He wants to say something, you can see by the way he opens his mouth and hesitates, and he decides against it, nodding.
“Sorry for going so suddenly.”
He shakes his head.
“Don’t apologize for this, let me grab our bags.”
“No, no. You should stay, they’re your friends after all. They missed you. No one would even notice I am gone.” It’s the truth, and the last thing that you want is to make him feel obligated to drop you off. You don’t want to be his burden.
“I would.” He immediately replies and sighs. “They would too, they like you even thought… I am sorry for ear-”
“It’s okay, Bucky.” You give him the fakest smile after interrupting him. It really is okay. He should have fun and not worry about you. They’re his group after all. “You should stay, you don’t have to drive me home, I promise I am a big girl, I can handle it.”
Bucky frowns. Once because you think he feels it’s an obligation and once for name choice. “What about James?”
“I… Everyone calls you Bucky so it just slipped.”
“I want to come with you, doll. Don’t worry about this, okay? And I really miss our babies.”
You try to hold back a wave of tears as you turn around. You can’t continue to fight him on this. “Gonna get my bag then.”
Bucky follows immediately and gives everyone a clear fuck you look. “It’s getting late, we’re gonna go now, thanks for the game.” He takes his phone from the table before leaning in a little more so he can curse Sam in his ear. “Fuck you!”
“Fuck you back, grandpa, “ Sam whispers as you awkwardly say goodbye and wave toward everyone. They are not to blame at all for your sensitivity.
Bucky fights the instinct to place his hand on your back as you walk in front of him, wanting to show you some comfort and at the same time be close to you. He loves to touch you whenever he can.
“Take care of her, Barnes,” Natasha says before you close the entrance door.
*
You keep your eyes closed a lot, just listening to his humming and the radio, for the whole ride.
He opens the passenger door and helps you out of the car as soon as you arrive, but there is clear tension between you. He can sense it right away. When you reach your floor, you hesitate.
You would usually spend a little more time together, especially since it’s still early, but you have no energy to pretend you’re fine and totally not about to cry because your feelings are not mutual. “I think I’ll take a shower and go to bed… so rain check?”
Bucky tries not to show he’s disappointed and scared when he looks up and nods. “Of course, I totally understand, and I am sorry again. The last thing I want is to make you uncomfortable. They were dicks.” He sighs, running a hand through his already messy hair. “Give Miss Bubbles some snuggles for me, please. And thank you for coming tonight!”
And he’s gone before you can reply, making you start crying as soon as you close your door.
Miss Bubbles comes to you, smelling your shoes and your pants. “Hey, baby.”
“Meow.”
“Just us tonight.”
Her wet nose immediately makes you smile when she presses it into your hand. “Missed you, too.”
Bucky can’t relax despite Alpine’s tries to make him give her attention. He took a shower, changed, but he can’t focus on anything. Evenings feel lonely without you and Miss Bubbles, as cliche as it seems. He hates how uncomfortable his friends made you feel today. It’s the last thing he wanted, yet it still happened. Sam is a good guy, but he should have known better.
Sighing, Bucky finishes making the hot chocolate and looks down at Alpine. “Gonna visit our friends tonight. Not sure if they’ll forgive us, but it’s worth a try.”
You know it’s him when he knocks on the door, but you have no time to actually make yourself look presentable. It’s clear you’ve been crying.
You open the door with a sigh. “Did anything happen?”
“Made some chocolate, may I come in?”
Alpine doesn’t wait for your answer as she finds her way inside the apartment.
“I’m tired, Bucky.”
He blinks a couple of times, noticing your red cheeks and eyes. “Bucky again?”
You open the door defeated. “You can come in, James.”
Grateful, he gives you a smile as you close the door.
“This is for you.” He hands you a red cup before he starts off his slippers. “But it’s really hot.”
“Thanks. It was not needed, I just felt a little tired.”
You’re not a bad liar at all, truth be told. You even sounded honest. But you know he didn’t buy it anyway.
“I am sorry for today.”
“You said that three times now.” You complain before sitting down on the couch, waiting for him to join you like he usually does.
“Well, I really am. I know you hate this…”
“Hate what, James?” You take a sip and you groan. He makes the best hot chocolate ever!
“The way everyone was talking… It was not polite or nice. They tried to tease me through you, and I am sorry on their behalf.”
“Tease you through me about what? I am very obviously not your girl, right?”
His ears get red instantly, and Alpine comes to sit on his lap. “I am sorry, Natasha is…” Your humorless laugh interrupts him. “Did you come here to reject me again, Bucky? Two times were enough, trust me!”
“Reject you?’ He places his cup on the table. “What?”
“James, seriously, stop! I got the message, you don’t want more, it’s fine. Just stop apologizing for this.”
“I did not reject you!”
“And of course she is not my girl.” You quote him, placing your cup down, too. “Of course! Because it’d be such a terrible thing. What did Sam say? Oh yes, too innocent and sweet aka too naive, young and dumb for you!”
“God, doll, please, slow down! And this is not… this is not what I think. It’s the opposite, but they had no right to put you in a place like that. If you were my girl, it would be obvious.” He’s talking quickly, trying to explain as well as he can.
“Get out, but Alpine stays!” You don’t know where this comes from, but you won’t take it back.
“What?”
“I said get out, I don’t want liars in my apartment.” Alpine jumps from his lap to yours as if he understood what you said and agrees. You’d rather be rejected than let him pity-talk to you.
“God, baby, I swear I-” He stands up. “It’s a misunderstanding. I didn’t say that cause I didn’t want you… I do, I think it’s obvious, but like… I didn’t want them to corner you any-”
“It’s obvious?” You snort, totally unamused. “Yeah, that you rejected me.”
“I did not!”
“You did.”
Bucky pauses and closes his eyes for a couple of seconds before turning more to you when it hits him. “I cannot believe we confessed we like each other like this.”
You pause, too, and Alpine meows annoyed. “You like me?”
“Obviously…” he groans. “Everyone knows it at this point.”
“Except for me! When were you gonna say something?” You ask, trying to keep your breathing under control. Is this really happening?
“I wasn’t… I’m not the best option.”
“Best option for what? I’m not looking for a new phone.”
“You are younger, and fun, smarter, sweeter… You are worth so much!”
So he thinks he’s not good enough for you just the way you think you aren’t good enough for him.
“And I like an old man.” You smile teasingly. “With long hair. Who gives the best hugs and is an idiot.”
You’ve been crushing on him for months now. You can’t believe how he didn’t see right through you, but you didn’t realize he likes you, either, so you can’t judge him much.
“Do you mean it mean it? As in serious relationship?”
“God, James, do I have to spell it out for you?” You grab his face.
“No.” He smirks, looking down. “And I am sorry, baby Alpine, but you’ll have to move.” He gently puts Alpine on the floor as she meows annoyed and grabs you, dragging you onto his lap. “I can’t believe you think I’d reject you.”
“I can’t believe you’d think about options…” She touches his face. “I liked you since I saw you in those pink shorts.”
Bucky laughs, remembering the moment. “You did not!”
“Oh, I did. Those arms helped a lot.”
He groans. “God, I felt like a creep that day… actually the whole week, I kept staring at your boobs.”
“Did you ever stop?” You tease amused. “You don’t like my boobs anymore?”
“Doll…”
“What?” You suddenly grab your boobs over your T-shirt and bring them closer to his face.
“Stop-” He closes his eyes, groaning. He cannot think straight at all, and his pants show immediately how he feels. You smile as you notice his erection.
“You’re already getting hard, so why stop?”
“I don’t want to do something too…”
“Too what?” You lean in a bit to finally kiss him. You’ve been waiting for ages to finally taste him, and he immediately answers, his hand wrapping around the back of your neck as you open your mouth.
“You taste so sweet,” you say.
“You taste sweeter, fuck me… I wanted to do this for a long time.”
“Who stopped you?” You don’t let him kiss you again, focusing on his neck this time. You wanted to leave hickeys there ever since you met him.
“My moral code.”
You snort. “You are not eighty, silly. Do I look like I don’t want it?” You push your hips toward his erection to make sure there’s no doubt in his mind. You’re so excited about this. It feels surreal.
“You seem like you want me.” He smiles. “Close to how I want you I guess.”
“I think more.” You place your hand on his chest in a heartbeat. “Wanna eat you whole.”
“Meow.”
“Not now, Miss Bubbles.” You groan. You love her a lot, but you’re about to finally get her daddy all to yourself.
“Meow.” It’s Alpine this time.
“I am gonna give them some wet food,” you sigh, getting off him. “You can… make yourself more comfortable.”
It doesn’t take more than a minute before you’re back with a smile. “So where were we?”
“We were kissing.” His hair is now free; his hairband on his wrist. You love his hair so much that you can’t wait to feel it properly under your touch.
“You look so hot.”
He snorts. “Thanks! So do you. God, can’t believe those pricks were right!”
You get back on top of him without thinking twice and kiss his cheek. “Stop thinking about them. Your dick doesn’t…”
“God, look at that mouth, you were tired of waiting for me, huh?”
“Yes, I was. Did Natasha tell you that?” You tease.
“They might have suggested I should make a move.” Your hum, your fingers finding their way under his shirt before touching his tummy. “Doll-”
“What? I really wanted to do this for a long time.”
“I did… do, too, but I don’t want to rush.”
That’s thoughtful. Very thoughtful.
“You’ve been my friend for months now, James. And I wanted to be more than your friend for months.”
“Same, but there is no rush, just so you know.”
“Well, you’ve already said that, and there is no rush. Unless you don’t want-”
He kisses you, interrupting you immediately. His hands go straight under your pants and panties to grab your ass.
“James!” You cry in the middle of the kiss. His touch feels so good.
“Hmm?”
“Thought you didn’t want to.”
“I want to, trust me.” He smiles. “But that doesn’t mean we have to.” Then he kisses you again. “We stop when you want.”
“Oh, come on, old man. Who told you I want to stop?”
Bucky squeezes your hips.
“Old man?”
“Yeah. Old and annoying,” you say before starting to take off his T-shirt, and he immediately lifts his hands.
“And horny for you “
“Not horny in general?”
“I don’t know. You’ve been on my mind for months.”
He’s been on your mind for months, too. Daily, you thought about him in any possible way.
“Dirty old man wanting to fuck a young, naive woman.”
“You’re into roleplaying?” He winks, blushing because of the way you phrased it.
“I am into fucking an old man on my couch.”
“What if I want to fuck you?”
You roll your eyes. “Your cock will be inside me either way.”
He laughs and takes ahold of your T-shirt, and just like that, before you can even react, it’s ripped and lying on the floor.
“James Buchanan Barnes!”
“Buchanan!” He repeats amused, but his focus is on your breasts, your hard nipples making it impossible for him to focus on anything else. “Oh God, these are so pretty and all mine.” He reaches out to grab them.
“Yours?”
He brings them together and lowers his head until his mouth touches them.
“James!”
His tongue is immediately on the skin, licking up and down until he finally has mercy enough to wrap his lips around one of your nipples.
You moan. “Good boy.”
“I’m your good boy, baby.”
That makes you groan again because this is too much!
“God, Bucky, you are so hot right now.”
“Just now?”
You smile. “Always, but especially in moments like this.”
“Oh fuck, do you have a condom?”
“I do, yeah. But do we need it?”
He lets go of your breasts and wraps his hand around your chin before he licks a spot right above your collarbone. “I won’t ask again, so are you sure?”
“I won’t change my mind, James. Now take your pants off, I want you in my mouth.”
“God, keep going and I will come in that-”
“Good, I want you to come in my mouth. And on these,” you grab your breasts again to drive him crazy. “Since you like them so much. And inside me.”
“All tonight?” He asked all shook.
“Why? You can’t get it up again, grandpa? One and done?” You know teasing him might not be the brightest idea since he can use it against you, but it doesn’t matter.
“I guess we’ll see.” He shrugs, not even trying to deny it. He gets extra points for not being offended. “Now take off your pants.”
“Just pants?”
He rolls his eyes. “I thought you wanted my come all over you.”
“I do, but I’m too lazy to-”
“Just tell me you want me to rip them.”
You gasp, getting off him. “Fuck you.”
“You will if you get naked.”
You take off your pants and panties, struggling with your socks a little, and when you turn your focus on him you see him sitting naked on the couch, waiting for you.
His hand is wrapped around his hard cock, but he’s not stroking it, his eyes focusing on you.
“You’re so fucking hard.”
Bucky laughs, shaking his head amused. “I thought you knew that.”
“Fuck you for holding back!” You complain and drop on your knees in front of him, taking him by surprise.
“You held back, too.”
“You seemed uninterested,” she says all defensive.
“See how uninterested I am?” He grabs his erection to emphasize his point, and you moan, touching the head with the tips of your fingers.
“Fuck.”
“Baby… let’s just-”
“Can you take off your hands?” You ask with a pout.
“What?”
“I really want to suck you off.”
It’s not a want at this point, it’s a freaking need. You have to do it, it’s an urge.
“And I really want to get inside you.”
You whimper annoyed. “Just a taste.”
“Just a taste.” He nods and takes off his hand, and just like that, your mouth immediately takes over as you wrap your hand around the rest of his cock while you try to take more in.
“Oh God, warn me, woman…”
You ignore him, fully focusing on licking his dick and not biting him. Breathing is hard as you gag a few times, but you try your best. You’re not used to it, especially since he’s thicker than you expected, and you’re nervous. You have no idea how he likes it and you can’t say you did it many times before. You just really want him to like it.
“Breathe, baby.” He moves the hair from your face, holding it in his right hand so he can look at you properly. “No rush.”
You start bobbing your head at some point, your fingers digging into his thigh.
“Fuck, do you want me to come in your mouth? Would you swallow for me or should I come all over your pretty tits?”
You scratch the skin of his legs as you bob your head faster, and he doesn’t need too much to come as he pulls your hair as nicely as he can.
“Good girl, my pretty baby.” He moans.
You don’t swallow completely as you finally let his still semi-hard cock out of your mouth, showing him your tongue.
“Baby, God…” He moans as you wait for a couple of seconds. “Want to swallow for me, pretty girl?’
You give him a wink before doing that, and Bucky feels he’s on another planet.
“You’re still hard.”
“And I am getting harder.”
“Good.” You smile innocently before you hug him, hiding your face in the crook of his neck. He’s so soft and warm, and he’s all yours.
“You are so sweet.” You feel his mouth on your shoulder. “I’m so fucking lucky.”
“I am lucky, too. You’re the sweetest man I’ve ever met.”
“What a sweet couple we are.” He teases.
“Yeah, dirty sweet.”
“I don’t think…” He hesitates, making you curious about what he’s about to say. There’s no way he’s rejecting you, so what is on his mind? “I don’t know how we’ll be apart from now on.”
“James!” You look at him emotionally.
“It probably sounds psychotic or weird, but…”
“Shut up!” Your fingers cover his bottom lip instantly, stopping him. “You are mine from now on, just so you know.”
He nods happily before kissing the tip of your thumb. “All yours.”
“Won’t you ask if I am all yours?”
He snorts. “Are you all mine?”
“Your cooking skills are amazing.” You let out a laugh as soon as you finish your phrase. “And a great hair. And I’m all yours.”
“All mine?” He lifts your ass a bit, and you gasp. “Would you fuck me then, ma’am?”
You giggle, moving your hand between your bodies to be able to grab his cock and position it at your entrance. “This is gonna feel so good,” you say before eagerly sliding down, making you both moan.
“S-so wet.” He groans trying to get further inside you. “You don’t even need lube.”
“Fuck me, James, you feel so good inside me.” You can barely whisper, as you start to move, testing for a little, trying to see what feels the most pleasant. His cock is not small, not huge, not too thick, not too thin, and it feels perfect.
“You held back for what?” You complain, using his shoulder for support, his hands on your hips to help you move better, too. “If I knew you liked me…” You moan, surprised when you feel his tongue on your breast.
“You know now. We trust each other… it’s perfect.”
“James…”
“Hmm?”
“It feels so… s-so good like this.”
“Yeah?” He smiles against your skin and thrusts again. “You like when I’m fucking you back?”
“Ihm.”
“You’re so wet around me, feeling like a glove. My perfect baby.”
His words make you feel dizzy. You match so well you can’t believe it “I’m so close.”
“Good girl.” He moans your name before licking your chest, leaving small bites everywhere he can. “I want to live inside you forever.”
“J-James…”
“So pretty, so lovely.”
He takes properly over movement as you stay still on top of him, clenching from time to time because you’re so close you feel him everywhere. The way he whispers how good you are, how great you feel, and how you should come, plus his teeth on your neck make you come after a while, and Bucky follows soon after that because of your loud moans. You’re both trembling as you come, your head falling on his shoulder.
“I feel so full,” you whisper.
“You are full, lovely.”
“Ihm.”
Your body feels heavy all of a sudden, sleepiness taking over you.
“Let’s get you cleaned.”
“But I don’t want to let go.” You complain, gripping him harder. You just want to stay there in his arms.
“Gonna carry you to the bathroom, how about this?” You open your eyes and you nod, so tired.
“Sounds good.”
The cats are waiting in front of the door when Bucky opens it with a hand while still carrying you. He walks past them, careful not to step on their tails, and goes straight to the bathroom, cleaning you with a semi-wet towel, then himself before getting both of you ready for sleep.
Good thing he locked up his apartment because he’s not going anywhere tonight. You fall asleep with Alpine on your pillow and Miss Bubbles on the chair while Bucky’s holding you.

a/n: heyyy so i finally did it! after way to long here she is. this is not edited very much at all so i apologize but i don’t completely hate it and it fills the hole in my heart that is reserved for bucky <3 enjoy!
Growing up in your small town of Delacroix, Louisiana, everybody knew everybody. One of your good friends growing up was Sarah Wilson. Everyone knew the Wilson’s. especially when Sam became an Avenger. You were born in the city and loved it; the small fishing port, friendly people and small town America feel it had. You worked at one of the oldest diners in town that almost everyone was a regular at. Your uncle owned the place so you helped out when you had the free time. Nothing too exciting ever happened in your sleepy little corner of the south, not until Sam came back to town that is.
The whole town had been buzzing about Sam's return home and all the good work he had done as an Avenger. Sarah had also told you about the “broodingly handsome” friend he had brought home with him. She said that Sam and his friend ‘Bucky’ had been working on the boat constantly, trying to get it up and running. They had stopped in a few times here and there to get lunch or pick up dinner for the whole family but never stayed long enough to talk. There were some moments where you caught the mysterious man looking your way but brushed it off as nothing important. You did agree with Sarah, Bucky was handsome but you figured he’d probably be leaving sometime soon to go save the world or whatever it is that Avengers do.
On Sunday nights you always stayed late to make your signature apple pie for the week to sell at the diner. Everyone had gone home for the night and you were left to finish baking the last pie. You were sitting behind the diner counter, mindlessly scrolling on your phone when the soft jingle of the front door broke you out of your haze.
“Miss apple pie!” Sam's voice was always a cause to make you smile. You were like brother and sister and you had endless good memories growing up with him.
You looked up and your heart skipped a beat when your gaze met that of the dark haired man beside Sam. You hadn’t thought much of him before, he was attractive, sure but not until now did you really feel anything for the man. His hair was messy, just slightly from working on the boat all day and his white shirt was now covered in grease. He looked rugged and tough in an almost perfect way. His blue eyes stood out under his dark eyebrows, they almost glowed in the soft light of the diner.
“Hey you two, come sit down, I just finished making some.” The two tall men sat in front of you, plopping down with a sigh. Bucky rubbed his right shoulder with his left arm and a glint of metal caught your attention, peeking through the end of his sleeve under his glove. You wondered why he wore the glove but never asked, in fear of offending him. You served the boys their slices of pie and watched as they dug in. You loved making food for people, especially baked goods. Watching people enjoy your hard work filled your chest with pride. The three of you ate and talked for a while until your last pie was done in the oven.
“So, what are you still doing in this small town? I always thought you would get out of here and write a book, or do something amazing,” Sam asked as he wiped his mouth where crumbs of pie crust had fallen.
“Well, you know how it is, my family needed me. Plus where would I go? I don't really have anywhere else to go,” you sighed, placing the now done pies in the fridge, ready for the week.
“You could go anywhere, the world is a large place,” Bucky finally spoke up, otherwise quiet until now. You stared at him, kind of in shock, hearing something coming from his lips.
“I guess that's true...” his icy gaze captured yours, making you unable to look away. A sharp ringtone broke through the silence, causing you to lose your focus on the man in front of you.
“Hi Sarah, I-- yes, I’m on my--- Ok! Ok! I'll be right there, bye,” Sam hung up the phone as he rubbed his forehead. “Sorry guys, I promised Sarah I’d help the boys with their homework,” he shoved his phone into his pocket and grabbed his plate to help clean.
“No no, don’t worry about it. You guys go, I'll clean,” you took the plates from both men and turned to put them in the sink.
Bucky finally spoke up again. “I’ll stay and help you clean, I'll meet you at home later Sam,” he grabbed the rest of the dirty dishes and pie tins before rounding the counter. Sam said his goodbyes before rushing out the door, mumbling about being late. The two of you spent some time cleaning and making small talk, he told you about how he met Sam through a mutual friend, who just so happened to be Captain America. So naturally you questioned him about that as much as he would allow, until the entire diner was clean. Soon you both realized how late it was and started to head out.
“Thank you for helping, I appreciate it.”
“No problem, considering Sam dined and dashed,” you laughed at the thought of him being yelled at by Sarah over the phone. “I’ll walk you to your car.”
“Oh I didn't drive, I only live a few blocks away so I walk,” you motioned down the street, intending to walk alone.
“Well I'm not going to let a pretty lady like you walk home alone,” he stepped closer, eyes lidded and glued to your lips. “Especially looking as sweet as you do,” his hand snaked its way up to your face and he swiped his thumb across your lower lip. He held it up to the light to see a spot of powdered sugar on his thumb.
You were about to say how embarrassing it was that you had it on your face all evening but you had a feeling he did that on purpose when he stuck his thumb into his mouth. He relished the taste on his tongue and the almost imperceivable sound that came from his throat made your chest tighten. He smiled that sweet smile like he didn't just do… that, and he stuck his elbow out to escort you down the sidewalk.
The tone of your conversation had definitely shifted towards flirty while walking back to your apartment. He rested his gloved hand on top of yours, a soft yet strong gesture, telling you he would protect you if need be. The two of you walked side by side, getting to know each other with mindless small talk. He didn't talk much, mostly asking about you but he always looked like you were telling him the most interesting thing in the world. Finally you reached your apartment building, though you tried to walk slowly, because of how much you enjoyed his company.
“Well, this is me. Thank you for walking me home, James,” he told you his full name, although now he regrets it.
“Please, my friends call me Bucky.”
“Oh are we friends... Bucky?” You took a chance and stepped closer, closing the small distance between you two. Testing the waters, you put your hand on his chest, right next to his shoulder. Under his shirt you could feel something hard right near the top of his peck. You kind of toyed with the seam of it under your fingers without trying to draw your eyes to the area.
“It's metal,” he had kind of a lost, sad look in his eye.
“I’m sorry I didn't mean to–” you withdrew from him now, feeling awkward at the confession. You could see the hurt in his eyes from the memories that must be playing in his mind. Sam had told you some of the awful things he went through in the service so you can't imagine what Bucky had gone through.
“It's alright, have a good night, doll,” his soft lips gently kissed the apple of your cheek, sending shivers down your spine.
Doll. Doll?
Usually you hated cheesy nicknames that men used to make women feel smaller, but coming from his lips, oh lord did it sound nice. The tall man stood watch as you made your way into your apartment building, one last wave before seeing you disappear into the elevator. He would never admit it, but his heart was in his throat the entire time he was with you.
------
“Nothing happened Sam. I walked her home, that's all,” Bucky threw his hands up in defense, neglecting to tell Sam about the kiss on the cheek.
“That's all that better have happened. She's like a sister to me,” Sam was always protective of you, even against his best friend.
“Don't worry Sammy, nothing happened… yet,” he mumbled the last word as he turned away, not letting his friend hear his true intentions.
He would never tell Sam, but he was already over the moon for you, even after only a few interactions. The small smile on your face whenever he spoke, the adorable way you froze when he wiped the sugar off your lip. He had been wanting to do that all night and he was so glad he finally got the courage.
“Buck, I swear, if you so much as think about it–”
“Oh come on, relax! I won’t!”
The two men were standing in the kitchen after the rest of the family had gone to bed. As Sam walked past his friend to go to bed, he whispered to his friend, “Be nice to her, ok? She's like a sister.”
“Will do, Wilson.”
—--
You were cleaning up the diner after closing, tired and sticky from a long day, ready to go home. You had the radio on louder than usual to motivate the cleaning process, unaware of the door jingle you danced your way around the floor, broom in hand. You spun around a corner to head towards the front and finish sweeping when you collided with a solid chest. A small scream lept from your throat when large hands turned you around to face the most beautiful blue eyes.
“Oh Bucky! You scared the shit out of me!”
“Sorry doll, just wanted to see if you need a walk home?” His eyes sparkled when he saw your face, a wide smile to go with them.
“I would love that! Let me put this stuff away, give me a minute.”
You put the cleaning supplies away and turned off the lights and radio while Bucky sat at the same barstool the night you met him. When you were done you gathered up your belongings and Bucky walked you out as you locked the door. He offered his elbow just like the last time.
Such a gentleman.
“So, how was your day?” His voice was deeper than usual.
“Oh you know, the usual. Busy.”
You made small talk the whole way home, like you had known each other forever. By the time you got to your building neither of you wanted it to end.
“Hey… do you want to come in for a beer?” You weren't sure how he would perceive it but with how comfortable he seemed with you, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
“I’d love to.”
The two of you walked up to your apartment and settled into your place like you had done it a dozen times. You opened a beer for the both of you and sat on the couch, close enough to make you want to reach out and touch him. Of course Bucky was an attractive guy and the chemistry was electric, but you didn't want to jump to any conclusions.
After the conversation became comfortable and more than a few beers were empty, you felt bold.
“So…Bucky…” You were still nervous to ask.
“Yes, doll?”
“Can I ask you something…personal?”
You could see the slight change in his demeanor, the anxiety in his face.
“Anything.”
“What happened to your arm?” You could feel your heartbeat out of your chest as your voice shook.
There was a static silence, something shifted in him and you could see it.
“You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It-it’s none of my business… I’m sorry.” you got up and collected the empty bottles, heading to the kitchen when his voice froze you.
“It was the war…” he sounded distant. Like he was in that memory again.
“Bucky, please its ok, I'm sorry i ask–”
“No I… I want to tell you. It was a mission, I thought I was dead...”
You couldn't bear to hear anymore, you lunged forward and wrapped your arms around his neck. He didn't know how to react at first but he slowly slipped his hands around your waist, pulling you into him. He held you like you were a lifeline, nuzzling his face into your neck.
“I'm so sorry Bucky… you didn't deserve this.”
He breathed deep, like he was holding back a sob. You rubbed your hands up and down his back, soothing him while he steadied his breathing again. He pulled away from you just enough to bring his face to yours, his breath fanned across your lips. You looked into each other's eyes, you could feel the mood change. Something was different.
He slid his gloved hand up your arm until it cradled your cheek, the leather feeling foreign on your skin. You put your hand over the glove, pulling it down to your face. Slowly turning over his hand you undid the strap on the top of his glove. Pulling the glove off, revealing a dark gray metal in place of fingers. There were intricate gold details woven through the thin plates of metal.
“Oh my god…”
“I know it's–” he tried to pull his hand away.
“It's beautiful.” You were in shock, it was like he was made of midnight sky with gold stars flying across it.
He was stunned to say the least, unsure of how to respond. Instead, he placed his steel hand on your cheek again. You thought it would be cold, unfeeling. It was quite the opposite, it felt as alive as him.
You turned your head to kiss the inside of his palm, trailing your lips down to the inside of his wrist. You could hear a small hum from his chest, an approval.
That made you want to test the waters.
You put his hand back on your face, moving your face closer to him. You couldn't lie, you wanted to see what his arm looked like, actually, all of him. You slid your hand from his wrist up to his bicep and felt the lines of metal under the cotton shirt clinging to his body. He jolted in surprise but didn’t move away from you as you ran your fingers over the curves of muscle on his arms.
You could still see some hesitation in his beautiful eyes, telling you not many other people might have seen as much of him. You wanted to show him this wasn't some meaningless fling to you, you understood the gravity of this for him.
“James…” He smirked at the formality. “You can tell me to stop.”
The thought never came to him. Instead of putting it into words, he hauled you into his seated lap. The motion pleasantly surprised you, you were glad he took charge and made the decision. You could feel the hardness under your thighs, making it seem like all of him was made of metal. The slightest roll of your hips made him groan from deep in his chest.
“Baby I-” The nickname slipped off his tongue so naturally you almost missed it. “I haven't, uhh, you know– it's been a while.”
“Hey, it's ok. Me too,” you laughed at yourself. Dating in a small town is hard, especially when you know everyone and everyone knows you. You were still moving in his lap, almost undetectable, but enough to make his length harden.
You couldn't tell but he was losing his grip, trying to hold back and not rush you either. You had him mesmerized, lost in your eyes and his hands on your hips that were moving against him. He wanted nothing more than to touch every inch and taste just as much. You were lazily kissing, neither one wanted to break the spell.
His lips were soft like silk and he smelled like smoke and motor oil. The thought of him working on that boat with Sam made your thighs clench. You could imagine him bare chested and sweaty out in the Louisiana sun. You intertwined your fingers in the hair at the nape of his neck to draw him closer. The motion sealed your lips together further and his tongue danced across yours as his hands roamed your body. He caressed and squeezed every curve he could find, leaving you breathless.
You needed more.
You wanted to taste him.
You kissed your way down his neck and clothed chest all while trying to remove his shirt. You slid down on your knees between his thighs and looked up at him with bated breath. He didn't object to your action and you took it as a sign to continue. You worked the button and zipper open on his jeans and he moved his hips out of the confining fabric. His hard length was tenting his underwear and your mouth practically watered at the sight. Your hands on his thighs slid closer to the waistband of his boxers, pulling the fabric slightly. You peppered little kisses and small bites along all his clothed skin, watching him get visibly harder.
“Oh fuck baby…” his voice was dark and soothing. He was holding back for your sake, letting you do what you want but he was slowly starting to slip.
You finally removed the remaining clothing around his hips and motioned for him to remove his shirt. The muscles on his chest strained with the effort and before he leaned back again you were on him. You wrapped your mouth around the head dripping with precum before he even saw you do it.
“Shit–” His hands flew into your hair to hold you just like that and he relaxed into the couch. Your mouth worked him the best you could but he wasn't a small guy by any standard. Your eyes watered when you took him all the way, your nose hitting the curls at the base of him. He groaned at the warmth of your mouth and knew he wouldn't last long. You bobbed your head up and down while his large hand gripped your hair, pulling just hard enough to feel good. You knew you were dripping, ruining your underwear but you didn't care. All you wanted was to hear this man moan your name for as long as he’d allow. Your name came in broken moans as he chased his high.
Bucky was getting carried away, he should be the one pleasing you not the other way around, he thought. But when you slid your tongue up the vein running along him, he was powerless to stop you. He almost felt guilty for it but couldn't bring himself to make you stop, you felt too good.
The salty taste of precum told you he was close, painfully close, so naturally… you slowed down. You were torturing him a little bit but having this powerful super soldier in the palm of your hand was just too good. You could see the almost painful look in his face when he looked down at you, urging you to touch him.
“James… I need you.”
His name, those three words, it sent him tumbling over that edge of control. He extended his hand to help you up and before you could get your bearings he pulled you down to fall onto the couch. So there you were, face down in the pillow with your fully clothed ass in his face. He pulled the band of your soft pants down your hips, along with your underwear, fully exposing you. The cool air of the room brushed your skin as he moved behind you. His hands were steady as they moved across the skin of your ass. You were dripping no doubt. The slick feeling was making you blush, Bucky hadn’t even really touched you yet and you were practically putty in his hands.
Your heart was thundering in your chest knowing he was staring at you, probably deciding what to do. After a brief moment he pulled you up against his chest, one hand on your chest over your shirt and the other sneaking up under the hem of the fabric.
“Jesus, you…” he nuzzled his nose into the hair draped over your neck. “You're so soft.”
He ran his hands under your top and pulled the thin bra over your hardening nipples. He lightly brushed his fingertips over the pebbled skin and you unclasped the band of your bra and pulled off your top to let him have full access to all of you. His touch was so soft and sweet, it made you even wetter. You had a feeling he was holding back because he was afraid to hurt you.
Oh, if he only knew.
“Please, Bucky… I-I want you. All of you.” your voice was so small that you barely heard it.
“What baby? What do you need?”
You clenched around nothing hearing his voice, whining a response not able to form words. You pushed your hips back into him, feeling his hard length against your soft backside. His voice echoed in your ear, almost like a low growl from his chest.
“I– p-please…” You were delirious. And his roaming hands were not helping.
His lips were just as curious as his hands. His tongue was tracing the strong pulse in your neck all the way up to your ear. He sucked on the sensitive skin behind your ear and you rolled your head back to accommodate him. You couldn't help how your eyes fluttered closed when he pulled your hair back to keep your neck exposed. His fingers were tangled in your hair, he completely controlled where your head was. You moaned as he continued to lick and nip at your neck and slowly inched his metal fingers toward your slick center.
The dark metal was biting in a good way, harder than flesh but still comforting to the touch. The gold glinted off the low light in the room, catching your eye. Your gaze followed his fingers as they spread the wetness around your clit. You moaned as he sped up his movements until you were a painting mess, his arms the only thing holding you up.
“Oh f-fuck… mmm Ja–James…” You whined when he pushed his middle two fingers into your heat. Your hips ground onto his hand, the metal smooth yet the grooves in the design made you dizzy as your sensitive bundle of nerves ground into the heel of his hand. You were seeing stars and were quickly barreling toward a release. His chest pressed against your back let you feel his climbing heartbeat and rapid breathing.
Just as you felt a warmth start to spread in your lower stomach, he pulled his expert fingers away. You slumped against the loss and moaned in protest.
“I need to see your face when you cum.”
He swallowed your moan and shifted you to lay on your back, ever so softly. Ever the gentleman. Your heart swelled. Before you had a chance to register, his massive arms opened your legs and pushed your knees up to your chest. His grip was strong enough to bruise and you hoped it did. He ran his metal fingers over your soft folds, through your slick and hummed as he licked it off.
“Mhmm, sweet as apple pie.” He gave you that devastatingly brilliant smirk that just made you melt.
You hummed as he rubbed his tip through your folds, his chest exhaling above your face. He locked eyes with you as he guided his length into your swollen pussy. You practically purred as he bottomed out inside you. It was like liquid ecstasy was running through your veins, something you never experienced before.
“Jesus Christ, look at you doll.” His voice sounded like it had been dragged out of him, across gravel. The sound made you clench around him. “Y’look so pretty like this…” his words were almost slurred, like he was drunk on you.
And if he was honest with himself; he was drunk on you. This was a new feeling, entirely its own. It felt like his body was reacting to yours in some indescribable way. As he rocked into you, the only sounds were of your quiet moans and breaths, your noises spurring him on more.
“L-let me hear you baby… talk t– talk to me.”
“James… oh my– my god, you feel so…so good.” You clung onto his arms as they framed your head. You turned toward his mechanic arm, your lips meeting his thumb. You licked the digit, wanting to feel the metal in your mouth. He must have noticed your unconscious movements because he adjusted his arm and cupped his hand around your jaw, the thumb teasing your bottom lip. His hips never lost their rhythm as he pushed his thumb into your mouth. You moaned and sucked on his finger and his grip tightened on your face and eventually slid to your neck.
You couldn’t help the small smile that broke on your lips. You knew he saw it, and that he knew what it meant. The metal digits tightened around your throat, just enough to send stars across your vision.
“Oh fuck… you’re so fu— fucking tight. You— you like that don’t you? You like my hand around your throat?”
He was picking up the pace now. Whether he meant to or not his hips were slamming into you much harder now, every thrust causing his grip to tighten on your neck. The lewd noise of him moving inside you was ringing in your ears, the loss of blood flow made you dizzy. But you think you might just die if he stopped.
He kept his Vibranium hand on your pulse while he sat back and reached between you. For a moment you thought he was going to stop but when his fingers found your sensitive clit, you gasped at the feeling. He knew just how to fill your veins with fire, set your whole body ablaze. As he expertly circled your bundle of nerves you could feel his significant size swell inside you. You knew he was close.
“Bu— Bucky… please…” your words were long and drawn out. You were teetering on the edge now, practically vibrating with your pent up release. You needed one thing, one small thing to send you over that edge.
And he was that one thing.
“Fuck— where?”
You knew his release was going to be your salvation. You wrapped your legs around his hips, sealing him to you, telling him to empty inside you. Your walls clamped down on him, wringing him dry as he came and practically whined in your ear. He never stopped his movements on your clit. Feeling him finish inside you was all you needed to scream his name as the fire in your veins exploded. You came harder than you ever have before, like nothing you ever experienced.
You both could do nothing but lay there as your bodies recovered. Bucky stroked your arm and hummed as you nuzzled into him.
“Shower?” his chest rumbled with the words.
“Only if I can come with.”
“Deal.”
He kissed you all the way to the bathroom and didn’t let you lift a finger while he turned on the shower and made sure there were towels for both of you.
You didn’t know what to expect of the mysterious soldier but, boy you were not disappointed.
Sadly, you had a feeling deep in your stomach that he wouldn’t be around long. I mean, who can expect a superhero to stick around for very long when there is a whole word to save.
But damn it if you weren’t going to enjoy it while it lasted.

Happy reading!!
"Sammy!" A figure barrelled into Sam Wilson, almost making the five-foot-ten man topple over.
The girl's arms wrapped tightly around his bulky frame, hanging on for dear life. Her tears soaked his shirt, and her nails dug into his biceps almost painfully, but he said nothing. He only hugged her back with as much vigour and passion, letting his salty tears mix with hers.
Although no time had passed for Sam, years had passed for the girl—five to be exact—and he could feel all her emotions pouring out of her like a dam broken loose.
"Sammy!" she sobbed while her body shook violently. "You're back!"
"I've been back." Sam stroked a hand over the girl's hair, offering her comfort. "I've been here. Where were you?"
The first thing Sam did after he was blipped back to life was to call his sister, Sarah. Only to be told that five years had come and gone. His nephews, who were babies when he left, were now little men. The second thing Sam did was ask about Baby Girl.
He remembered when he first met her. Her family moved to the bayou when she was just five; Sam was fifteen. When her parents died, Sam's family took her in as their own, giving her the same amount of love they gave their other two kids.
So he was surprised, then, to find that Sarah hadn't heard from her in almost two years. Sam, himself, had no luck in locating her until recently. It took him eight months, but he finally found her. She had moved to New York and cut all ties with previous friends and family.
Sam wanted to ask why. Why leave Sarah and the boys? Why leave the only home she ever knew? His questions could wait, though. Now that she was here, he wouldn't ever let her go.
"Hey, Baby Girl," Sam shushed her when she sobbed louder, "I'm here. I'm not leaving again. Promise."
So fascinated by how she had aged from an awkward teen on the precipice of adulthood into a beautiful young woman, Sam did not notice the bruises lining her sides and underneath her clothes—or the circles under her eyes—from almost two years of interrupted sleep. Or the absence of light in her usually glowing irises.
When she let her entire weight fall on Sam and sobbed as she had when her parents died, he did not question it, only held on tighter and carried her towards the house.
"I've got you now, Baby Girl. Everything is gonna be just fine."

While he did not explicitly say anything, Bucky Barnes found the Wilson Family Residence quite endearing. His house in the thirties had been small, and even his current apartment in Brooklyn was compact—which he liked—but there was something so serene about the land surrounding the Wilson residence, so very peaceful.
After ninety years of constant fights, one after the other, all Bucky really wanted was some peace and quiet. And now, he could easily find it after absolving himself of most of the guilt he was carrying.
It wasn't easy, but Bucky told Yori the truth about his son's death and since then, had managed to cross a few more names off his list of amends. A weight lifted off Bucky's shoulders as everything began to make sense.
The Flag Smasher's fiasco was over with, and while the Powerbroker was still at large, there was no immediate threat. Bucky Barnes could rest for now before trouble found him again—as trouble often did. Sam had asked Bucky to stay over for the long weekend, and Bucky had happily obliged.
"It'll be good for you. Get away from that city life."
Bucky agreed. If all went well, he might end up buying his own house. He had a little... calm in Wakanda, and he missed the solidarity.
The axe was steadfast in his hands as he brought it down towards his target, and the sturdy stump was no match for the combined strength of both, the sharp tool, and Bucky's enhanced strength. In one meagre swing, half the stump broke off and landed on the ground with a muffled thump.
Bucky wiped the sweat off his brow with his right arm. It was the middle of June, and while the days were sweltering hot and sticky, the nights could get cold in comparison. Sam had tasked Bucky to get the logs for the fire, seeing as he was the most efficient.
Bucky continued with his work until he got a steady rhythm, stopping periodically to sip his still cold beer. It was then that his enhanced hearing picked up on the strangest sound. He perched the axe on his left shoulder and looked towards the house where Sam Wilson seemed to be consoling a crying girl.
"Huh." Bucky didn't find the exchange as odd as he should have. Everyone around the bayou was always coming to Sam for something. Whether it was a favour, or a shoulder to cry on. Bucky thought she must be someone special if he was hugging her like that.
When Sam took the girl into the house, Bucky shook his head and finished the last of his beer. He continued chopping more wood until the sun began to set, which is when he deposited the axe back into the shed and made his way inside to crash on the couch. Tomorrow would be a long day, what with the bonfire Sam was hosting, and all. Bucky fell to a dreamless sleep the second his head touched the pillow.
Tumblr media
He was a light sleeper. So Bucky immediately woke up when he heard someone coming down the stairs. It took him a second to become aware of his surroundings, as it always did. He was in Louisiana, crashing on Sam's couch for the weekend.
Bucky turned his head to the left to see who it was. Probably the boys; they were early risers and loved pestering Bucky about his metal arm—not that he minded. He found their interest refreshing and loved putting a smile on their faces. He was surprised, then, to find a girl instead. The same one from yesterday.
Huh. The girl looked a mess, with only half her hair pulled back into a makeshift ponytail and black makeup smudged under her eyes. Her pants were unbuttoned, hanging precariously from her hips, and her jacket was falling off her shoulders, a few sizes too big. She was holding a pair of shoes in one hand, her phone and shirt in the other. She was also balancing a purse in the crook of her elbow.
It was the shirt that did it. Because, while the girl's own blouse was in her hands, she was wearing Sam's grey-green T-shirt. Bucky knew because that's what Sam was wearing yesterday. She was someone special then if she was wearing his clothes.
Bucky smirked. He was very aware of what the girl had been doing. He, himself, had been on both ends of the situation before. Though it was very long ago, he still remembered the embarrassment of being caught leaving a girl's room in the early hours of the morning.
The girl screamed when she saw Bucky, not expecting anyone to be up, much less lying on the couch and watching her horrible attempt at sneaking out. "Oh, God!" Her phone slipped from her grasp and landed on the floor with a loud clatter.
There was a moment of silence where the two merely stared at each other. Bucky, with poorly concealed amusement, and the girl, with mild horror. She moved first, crouching down to pick up her cracked phone.
"Does it still work?" Bucky's voice was raspy from disuse. When tears gathered in the girl's eyes as a reply, Bucky immediately sat up, dropping his amusement in exchange for concern. He knew nothing about her, but it seemed like she cried a lot.
"No," she murmured, though Bucky heard her as if she were beside him. "Oh, God. No, no, no, no, no..."
"Hey, it's alright," Bucky told her as he crouched down to pick up the purse she had thrown in her haste. He hesitated when he saw a shiny ring peeking out from one of the compartments—too fancy and expensive-looking to be something ordinary. He quickly tucked the circle back and ignored it. Had Sam proposed to her? Bucky was offended he hadn't told him. Maybe it was recent. "Is it turning on?"
"Oh God! N-no," the girl stuttered through her tears.
Bucky was convinced that this girl—who cried a lot—only knew how to say "no" and "oh, God."
"I'm sure Sam can get you a new one, no big deal. What's your name?" Bucky offered the girl his right hand, which she promptly ignored.
She shot up on unsteady legs. "I have to go."
Bucky mimicked her. "Okay?" It was turning out to be a very unusual conversation.
"I have to go," she said again, more slowly this time, as if he were a little kid who couldn't understand a word of English.
Bucky cleared his throat awkwardly, shifting on his legs before giving the girl her purse back. "Right."
The tally was now up to "no," "oh, God," and "I have to go." At least she wasn't crying anymore. Bucky hastily stepped out of the girl's way when he realized he was blocking the hall that led to the front door.
She moved as if someone lit a fire under her. One second, she was there, and the next, she was out the door with her pants still unbuttoned, her jacket still falling off her shoulder, and her shoes still in her hand.
"Nice to meet you..." Bucky dropped his hand and trailed off when he realized she couldn't hear him anymore.
Huh. Either Bucky still didn't know how to talk to people, or that girl was on something. A lot of youngsters nowadays did drugs for fun. Bucky didn't understand it, nor did he want to. He could just ask Sam about it later.
Bucky stretched his arms above his head and cracked his neck. A couch was considerably comfier than the floor but still gave him a stiff back. No matter, a quick run could swiftly solve that problem. Bucky turned on the coffee machine and was biting into an apple when a shirtless Sam came barreling down the stairs.
"You sleep good, man?" Sam asked.
"Yeah," Bucky shrugged, wiping some juice from his chin, "I slept good. Well, as good as I can, considering..."
Sam hummed before opening the fridge and taking a swig of the orange juice. "Nightmare?"
Bucky shook his head. "I don't remember it—Listen, you didn't tell me you had a girl up there."
"A girl?"
"Messy hair, pretty face. Was crying yesterday?"
"Baby Girl? You saw that?" Sam stopped peeling the banana in his hand to look at Bucky.
Bucky merely shrugged and grabbed a mug from the cupboard.
"Sorry I didn't tell you she was over," said Sam, taking a bite of his now-peeled banana. "We were up talking real late. I guess I forgot."
"Yup. Talking," Bucky muttered with a smirk as he poured his coffee. "I bet."
"What?" Sam implored.
"Uh, nothing. Just, the girl seemed nice."
"She is nice," Sam retorted. "You met her?"
Bucky nodded and took a sip of his coffee. Black, just as he preferred it.
"Didn't think she'd be awake," Sam said with a yawn. "She barely slept."
Bucky had to try really hard to keep himself from laughing. "Well, she was."
"She was?" Sam asked suspiciously. "What do you mean she was? Did she go back to bed?"
Bucky shook his head. "She left."
"She left?" Sam scoffed, propping a hand on his hip. He had never looked more like Steve.
"That's what I said," Bucky confirmed, taking another sip. "She's gone."
"Gone?" Sam grumbled. "Bucky, what the hell are you talking about?"
Sam's accusing behaviour was really starting to irk Bucky, making him think the girl's sneaking out was not mutual. Shit.
He laughed uncomfortably and put his mug down on the counter. "Your girl came running down the stairs, half-dressed. She dropped her phone, cracked it, didn't let me help. Then she said she 'had to go' and practically ran out of here, I dunno."
"When?" A vein popped in Sam's forehead as he grabbed a random shirt from the pile of clean laundry near the stairs.
Bucky hastily checked the watch on his right arm. "Fifteen, maybe twenty minutes tops."
That made Sam utter a series of colourful swears as he finished his breakfast and found his wallet.
"Wait, Sam, what's going on?"
Sam didn't answer Bucky, too busy looking for his keys in the wrong place.
"Sam!" Bucky asked louder.
"We talked about this!" Sam scoffed. "I told her to at least stay for the weekend. I can't believe this! We sat down like adults and came to an understanding." He finally found his keys on the key hook.
"Where are you going, Sam?" Bucky countered.
"I'm going to get her," Sam snapped before sighing dramatically and letting his shoulders droop. "Shit, I do not have time for this, Baby Girl."
Bucky moved over the kitchen counter and stood in front of Sam. "What about that meeting you've got?"
"What meeting?" Sam asked.
"That meeting about that thing," supplied Bucky.
"What thing?" Sam grumbled.
"You know what thing," Bucky countered.
"Oh. That. I'm gonna have to reschedule—Man! Where are my shoes?!"
"Why?"
"Why?" Sam echoed. "What's with all the questions, Buck? Because I have to get Baby Girl before she skips town and disappears on me again."
"Sam."
"I haven't seen her in eight months, man, and she hasn't seen me in five years. I'm not about to let her leave—"
"Sam!" Bucky shouted loud enough for his friend to hear. He grabbed his wallet and his keys and put on his jacket. "You're going to that meeting, Sam."
"Like hell I am," Sam retorted passionately.
"I'll go pick up your Baby Girl," Bucky said after downing the rest of his coffee. "You, go to your meeting."
Sam stopped for a moment and seriously considered Bucky's proposal. It was an important meeting. "She'll probably be at the taxi stand," he finally relented. "You know the one?"
Bucky nodded, tying up his shoelaces. "Yeah, I know the one."
"Buck?" Sam called when Bucky was stepping out the door. "You better bring her back, or else I'm gonna light a fire under your ass."
Bucky chuckled, pushing his sunglasses up his nose. "Understood, Sam."

The taxi stand was abandoned. Really, what did the girl expect so early in the morning? It was a long weekend, and the residents of Delacroix rarely needed a commute into the city on an ordinary Friday. She was arguing with the lone taxi driver, pleading with him, really, to take her to the nearest airport. But the man kept denying her. He had been up all night and insisted on napping, telling her to wait another twenty minutes.
She didn't have twenty minutes, damn it. If anything, she needed more time. Time she didn't have.
Her phone could be blowing up right now, and she wouldn't know it. She wouldn't know the consequences of her actions until she bought a new phone. But maybe—just maybe, a voice inside her reasoned—Quentin would be too busy with his work retreat to notice her absence.
The girl tried getting the driver's attention again, who shot her the most hateful look she had ever received before starting his cab and driving away. "Hey! Wait!" she called out, but he had already turned the corner.
A laugh made her spin around. It was the man from this morning, the one on Sam's couch. He stood before her with his arms crossed, a big smile overtaking his face.
"You must not be from the city," he mused, "if you're that bad at hailing a cab."
Bucky had no trouble locating the girl, what with her being the only person in a one-mile radius demanding to be taken to the nearest airport. Her feeble attempts amused him, and frankly, Bucky was having trouble believing she was Sam's girl. He didn't think Sam would've gone for someone as... difficult as her. But hey, it was Sam wanting to spend the rest of his life with her, not Bucky.
Bucky surveyed the girl from head to toe. Her hair was settled, her pants buttoned, and most of her composure seemed to have returned. However, she had gone pale once he revealed himself, her eyes wide with guilt. She was caught red-handed; now, he would be the one to deliver her to Sam.
Bucky pointed at her with his left arm. "Sam wants you home."
He was surprised to see that when she looked down at the shiny metal, recognition flared through her eyes rather than shock or disgust. Good, he thought. She knows who I am.
"No, thank you," she managed to squeak out, and Bucky was pleased to know that the girl's vocabulary extended past the three phrases he had come to know her for.
"You seem smart," he told her when he saw her looking behind him, "but not that smart."
"Yeah?" she challenged, gaining a rare bit of courage. "What makes you say that?"
"You know who I am and what I'm capable of. Smart. You think you can run from me. Not smart."
"Is that right?" she asked. Bucky nodded, and the girl took a deep breath. "I must not be too smart then."
He raised a brow in challenge, wondering where she would go from there.
Suddenly, the girl threw her arms above her head and waved them with abandon. "Mr. Thurow!" she shouted, running past Bucky. "Mr. Thurow!"
Bucky slowly walked towards the girl, unhurried in his steps. He wanted to know what she would do.
"Mr. Thurow!" the girl panted. "I need your help."
"Jesus Christ!" Mr. Thurow bellowed. "As I live and breathe! Is that you, Baby Girl?" He was a stocky man with a kind smile and welcoming eyes.
"Yes, Mr. Thurow," the girl began confidently, "it is. I need your help, please. This man," she pointed behind her at Bucky, "is—"
"Carlos!" Bucky interjected with a smile. "How are you?"
"Sergeant Barnes! Back again already?" Carlos turned his attention away from the girl.
Bucky watched with amusement as the girl's face scrunched with confusion. Her lips parted slightly, and she blinked rapidly. "What can I say, Carlos? I was missing your potato salad."
"Hell yeah, you were," Carlos guffawed.
The girl stood there dumbfounded as the two men embraced each other.
"You know, it was my great nan's recipe?" Carlos asked. "Been in the family for generations."
"I didn't know that. You bringing it tonight?"
"For the bonfire?" Carlos confirmed. "You bet I am."
"Well," Bucky gestured to the girl, "I was just taking Baby Girl here back home. She got a little lost, and Sam was starting to worry." Bucky made sure to make himself sound condescending on purpose.
He heard her scoff. "I was not lost."
"Well, you get her home safe, then. Understood, Barnes? I want to see both of you tonight." Carlos mockingly glared at the girl and winked at Bucky before departing.
"See you, Carlos!" Bucky called out to his retreating figure. "Well?" he questioned, turning his attention to the girl after a moment of silence. "Are you gonna run and embarrass yourself again, or are you gonna come with me?"
"I am not going anywhere with you!" the girl scoffed.
"I will take you kicking and screaming if I have to," Bucky warned.
The girl took a step back hastily, believing his threat. "You're a heathen."
Well, Bucky shrugged. He had been called worse. "Sam threatened me with fire, and that's not how I'd like to leave this world if it's all the same to you."
The girl seemed to consider his words for a moment. "Fire is a painful way to go," she finally mused.
"It is," Bucky agreed.
"I don't like you," she told him bluntly.
"Okay." A lot of people didn't like Bucky. One more wouldn't hurt.
"But no one deserves to die like that."
It seemed the spawn of Satan had a heart.
"Does seem excessive," said Bucky.
The girl paused again. "If I run, you'll catch me." It wasn't a question.
"Always," Bucky promised, and the girl must have believed him because her shoulders deflated, and she hung her head in submission.
"Doesn't seem like I have a choice," she whispered, though Bucky heard her all the same.
"You don't."
"Okay," she relented.
"Okay. Let's go." Bucky led her toward where he parked, and the girl followed silently.
Good, she isn't being insufferable any longer, Bucky thought. Though, luck must not have been on his side that day because not a second later, once his bike came into view, the girl started complaining.
"No. I'm not sitting on that death trap."
Bucky turned to her with an annoyed groan. "Really?"
"I hate bikes!" she told him.
"What? You rather walk?" Bucky crossed his arms.
"Yes, please," the girl replied, mimicking his posture. "I walked all the way here, didn't I?"
"Well, too bad!" snapped Bucky. "We're taking the bike." He grabbed his helmet and handed it to her. He groaned again when she didn't take it and only looked at him like she'd never seen a helmet before. Maybe she hadn't. He wouldn't be surprised. Bucky rolled his eyes and placed the helmet on the girl's head, securing the straps and confirming it fit snugly.
"It's loose," she complained.
"Your head's a lot smaller than mine..." Bucky took his previous statement back. He could definitely see the girl and Sam together. Both of them were insufferable shitheads and obviously perfect for each other.
"Sit," he gestured to the bike. And when the girl turned to him with the same blank look in her eyes, Bucky merely huffed in annoyance. He picked her up and deposited her on the seat as if she weighed nothing. And she didn't. He ignored her shouts of protest and sat in front of her.
"Where's your helmet?" She sounded worried for him.
Bucky laughed. "I don't need one."
"Yes, you do," she chastised him. "You could die."
"I'm a super soldier," Bucky said as an answer.
"Even super soldiers die," the girl retorted.
"I won't die," Bucky responded blandly before revving the engine. "Hold on tight."
"I am not touching youuuu..." The girl ended her sentence with a sudden shriek when Bucky unexpectedly released the throttle and speedily drove away. Her arms wrapped around his torso in a vice-like grip, and she hid her face in his jacket. "Oh, God!" she screamed. "Oh, my God!"
She took her flailing legs and tried wrapping them around Bucky's hips, which made him laugh in surprise. She was holding onto him like a koala bear, all while screaming bloody murder in his ears. Her nails dug sharply into his chest, but he ignored the sting. He couldn't wait to see her face once they stopped.
And eventually, they did. Bucky parked his bike in the back and told the girl to get off, which, of course, she didn't do. He got up anyway, taking her with him, though she didn't let him go once he was standing.
Bucky tapped on the hand around his shoulder. "You can let go now. It's safe."
The girl obediently unwrapped herself from his body, falling indiligently to the ground.
"See?" Bucky smirked. "We didn't die."
"Oh my God," she groaned, shaking on the ground. "I can't feel my legs."
Bucky laughed, extending his metal arm towards her, which she took without complaint. "Let's try again," he suggested once she was steady on her feet. "I'm Bucky."
The girl told him her name, and he repeated it with a smile. "I still don't like you," she said.
"The feeling's mutual, doll." And if she blushed at the pet name? Well, Bucky simply chose to ignore it.
Tumblr media
He was on his third beer, a shame, really, since he couldn't feel it. But Bucky had developed a liking for the taste. It reminded him of better times. Before the war, and before his life completely changed.
Sam plopped down on the chair next to Bucky, a happy but tired smile on his face. Bucky turned to Sam and took a s'more from his outstretched hand, biting into the gooey center with a groan. "Man, this is good. I can't remember the last time I had one of these."
"Probably before Christopher Columbus discovered America."
"That's not funny, Sam," Bucky frowned. "Besides, everyone knows the Clovis people got here first, twenty thousand years ago."
"I didn't know that!"
"Because you're stupid," Bucky retorted.
"Whatever," scoffed Sam. He slid down in his chair and muttered "nerd" under his breath.
Bucky was preparing a retort when something caught his eye. The girl was playing with AJ and Cass, trying to catch them as they ran around the fire. Bucky cracked his knuckles and prepared to confront Sam. "You're really mean, you know that?
"Why? Because I called you a nerd?" Sam scoffed. "Well, it's true."
Bucky shook his head and levelled Sam with a glare. "Because you didn't tell me you're getting married."
A long silence followed. "Who's getting married?"
"You are!" Bucky exclaimed. "I didn't even know you had a girl."
"Because I don't!" Sam straightened. "And I'm not getting married."
"But—" Bucky was at a loss for words, then a thought struck him. "Holy shit, Sam! Don't tell me you—" Bucky leaned forward, lowering his voice considerably. "You slept with a married woman!"
Sam's face screwed up. "What the fuck are you talking about? I didn't sleep with anyone!"
Bucky was stunned, realizing a moment too late that he had completely misread the situation.
"Start from the beginning," Sam urged. And so Bucky told him what happened that morning, how the girl came down half-dressed and wearing his shirt. Bucky thought she was a one-night stand until he saw the ring in her purse, and Sam brought her back to his house.
"So, she's not your fiancé?"
"No! She's like a sister."
"But you call her Baby Girl!"
Sam rubbed his temples. "Everyone calls her that. Listen," he sighed, "maybe I should've introduced the two of you before, but I was overwhelmed by seeing her after so long. Besides, I didn't think you would start jumping to conclusions!"
Bucky rubbed his neck in embarrassment. Perhaps he was too quick to assume the girl was Sam's significant other. But if she wasn't involved with Sam, then who exactly was she?
The girl was sitting across from Bucky and Sam on the other side of the fire pit, nibbling on a s'more. The two men watched her as they talked.
"Her family lived in the plot behind ours. They were good people."
"Were?" Bucky questioned, feeling like there was more to the story.
Sam seemed to dissociate for a moment as if he were somewhere else. "Eleven years ago, my dad woke me up in the middle of the night and told me to run to town and wake as many folks as possible. There was a fire down the street, and the trucks had broken down on the highway."
Bucky tensed, hating the direction the story was taking.
"The smoke was so thick I was choking on it from a block away. Over half the house was up in flames by the time I got back. Three men went in and came right out not a second later. Folks were throwing bucketfuls of water to try and contain it, but I remember thinking that was useless. It's like the flames had a mind of their own."
It was then that Bucky accidentally made eye contact with the girl. She frowned at the intense look on his face, jerking her head as if to ask, "What?"
"What happened next?" Bucky asked without removing his gaze.
"I went towards the back, where the fire wasn't as strong. The upstairs window was wide open, and I found Baby Girl lying on the ground with twisted legs and blood oozing from her head." Sam scoffed a laugh, though there was no humour behind it.
Bucky's jaw dropped. "She jumped?"
Sam shook his head. "We found out later that her brother pushed her. My entire family was at the hospital when we broke the news that she was the only survivor."
"Shit." Baby Girl was glaring daggers at Bucky now, though he couldn't take her seriously. Melted chocolate dripped down her chin, and her hair was mussed from the wind. Bucky imagined her eleven years younger, wide-eyed and trembling as her life crumbled around her. He recalled her comment from that morning. "Fire is a painful way to go." "No one deserves to die like that." He looked away.
"She's acting like you're keeping her hostage," Bucky remarked.
"I might as well be," Sam grumbled. "She's dying to go back to New York, and she won't give me a proper reason why."
When Bucky looked back at the girl, she was chatting with Carlos Thurow, seemingly pleading with him. She waved her broken phone, and Bucky could see the cracks on the screen glinting from where he sat. Baby Girl slumped her shoulders in defeat when Carlos took his own phone out to show it had died.
Bucky felt a jolt in his chest as he watched the girl run her hands through her hair in frustration. Something was wrong.
Sam whistled beside him, waving Baby Girl over. The effect was immediate. Baby girl plastered on a shoddy smile, exaggerating a laugh as she waved back and made her way to them.
"You seem happy," Sam observed as the girl took the empty chair beside Bucky.
Bucky looked at Sam to see if he was joking. Sam was no spy, but didn't one have to be blind to not see how miserable Baby Girl looked under her fake smile?
"The party's very fun," Baby Girl answered. "It's—" guilt flashed across her features. "It's nice to see everyone after so long."
"Could've been sooner," Sam muttered.
"I told you I was busy!" she exclaimed. "I didn't have time to leave the city."
"But you won't tell me why," Sam countered. The fight seemed to leave his body, and he sighed. "I didn't call you over to argue with you. I won't bring it up again."
Baby Girl turned her nose to the sky in a way that made Bucky laugh. "You better not." And the conversation flowed smoothly from there.
Bucky offered her a beer, which she accepted with a smile, and the three laughed and joked about until tears ran unbidden down their cheeks. However, despite the mirth dancing in the air, Bucky could not ignore the lingering sadness in her eyes.
"You won't believe what this man asked me before," Sam guffawed, pointing accusingly at Bucky. "He asked if we were engaged!"
Laughter burst forth from mirth-kissed lips. "That's disgusting!" she managed between giggles. "What made you think that?"
Bucky felt flushed under her attention. "You were wearing Sam's clothes that morning," he explained sheepishly. "And I saw a ring in your purse."
Her face made a radical transformation. One moment, she was smiling in a way that made Bucky's heart flutter—the next moment, all pleasure seemed to drain away from her body, leaving her looking gaunt and haggard. Sam was too busy laughing at his untied shoelaces to notice the change in atmosphere, but Bucky felt the full force of it slam against his chest.
"I don't have a ring."
"But I—"
"No!" Her words seemed laced with desperation. Her sober eyes flicked toward Sam. "There was no ring," she stressed.
Bucky could see the hopelessness in her eyes. "Right," he muttered. "I must have been mistaken."
Sam, who had overcome his slight scramble with his shoelaces, sat upright. Inebriation laced his every move. "Right. But that made me think."
"That's never a good thing," Bucky interjected, trying to ease the lingering tension.
"Are you dating anyone? Sarah said she didn't know, but you can always tell me. Huh?" Sam teased. "Tell me. Who's the unfortunate bastard?"
Baby Girl's lips were a thin line, and Bucky anticipated the lie before she could open her mouth. "It's nothing like that. I'm not dating anyone." She finished the rest of her drink and immediately grabbed another.
"You can't lie to me," Sam wiggled his finger. "Come on, fess up. Whoever he is, he can't be worse than Beck."
Baby Girl froze, and Bucky's curiosity was piqued too much to ignore. "Beck?"
"Quentin Beck. Biggest asshole on the planet," Sam explained. "Beck and Baby Girl dated on and off in college. I would catch the bastard every other week with a different woman."
Bucky scrutinized the girl for a reaction, but she seemed to be holding her breath.
Sam began to pout like a child. "He always managed to win her over. At least I can die easy knowing they broke up before half the world blipped."
"He's not like that anymore," Baby Girl whispered to herself. Sam was too far to hear her, but Bucky had no such problem. "He's changed." She wrapped her arms around her body. "He's not like that anymore."
Bucky took in her dark under-eyes and trembling frame, her body sickly from stress. He believed her. Beck wasn't like that anymore. Perhaps he had moved on from his days of serial cheating and picked up a different hobby. Beck probably wasn't like that anymore, but he wasn't any better either.
The former spy suspected that Baby Girl was still involved with Beck. He observed her closely. Her eyes swirled with guilt, and her shoulders drooped in alarm. There was more to the story, but before Bucky could voice a question, Baby Girl stumbled onto unsteady feet. She swayed back and forth, betraying her inebriation, and Bucky reached over to keep her from falling.
Baby Girl pushed his hands away. "I'm tired," she croaked. "I'm going to bed." And she staggered away, bumping into people as she disappeared into the house.
Bucky relaxed back in his seat with a tired sigh. On his left, Sam was passed out over the arm of his chair, mouth open in a loud snore. Bucky craned his neck back and stared openly at the night sky. Stars twinkled brighter here than they did in the city. Everything was more serene and calm. However, since Baby Girl arrived, Bucky couldn't help but sense a slight shift in the air, as if the wind knew her secrets and was trying to warn them. One thing was made clear. It wouldn't be pretty.
Tumblr media
It felt oddly like déjà vu. A light clambering of feet roused Bucky from his half-sleep, and as always, it took a second for him to make sense of his surroundings. He was on Sam's couch.
The steps were hesitant and controlled—so not AJ and Cass. Excitement and a sugar overload had kept them up late, and they wouldn't wake until a few hours later. Bucky was proven right when a lone woman descended the steps instead of two boys.
She looked a lot better than the last time he had seen her. Freshly showered and reasonably presentable in her own clothes this time—not Sam's. She hadn't seen him yet, so Bucky took the opportunity to observe her a moment longer. Her under-eye area was still dark, though not as sunken as before, and she carried an air of determination around her.
"Good morning," Bucky broke the silence.
Baby Girl shrieked, seemingly slipping over nothing. She tumbled backward, falling in an indelicate heap onto an armchair. "God above!"
Her vocabulary was steadily expanding.
Bucky sat up, regarding her with a guilty expression. "Sorry."
"I forgot you were still here," she mumbled sheepishly, straightening herself into a more respectable position.
There was a moment of awkward silence where neither acknowledged the other.
"I was wondering..." the girl started.
"Yeah?"
"Could I borrow some money? I didn't bring enough with me from New York."
"Uh, sure," Bucky replied, grabbing his wallet from between the couch cushions. "How much do you need?"
Baby Girl looked down at her hands, tracing lazy lines on her palm. "One grand?" she grimaced.
Bucky looked at her with wide eyes. "What do you need a thousand dollars for?"
"I can make do with less!" she rushed to explain. "I can try stretching an eight hundred," she murmured. "But a new phone would be too expensive, and I'm not sure I can find a cheap last-minute flight."
"Excuse me?" Bucky exclaimed. He was fully awake now, leaning forward to hear her better. "What was that about a phone and a flight?"
Her guilty eyes met his confused ones. "I broke my phone," she explained, "so I need a new one. I also need to get back home, so I need to buy a plane ticket."
Bucky eyed her skeptically. "I thought you were staying."
"I changed my mind," she dismissed with a shaky wave. "I already went over it with Sam."
Bucky knew for a fact she was lying. She wouldn't even meet her eyes. "Is that what he would say if I asked him?"
"Of course!" she proclaimed. But Bucky could hear the hesitance.
"Okay. I'll go ask Sam." Bucky made to get up, but as predicted, the girl stopped him.
"Wait! Don't!"
Bucky sat back down with a satisfied smirk. "You're a sneaky little thing."
"Don't tell Sam," Baby Girl pleaded. "I'm sorry I lied. I didn't have another choice. He locked my credit card. Otherwise, I wouldn't be asking you for this favour."
"Hmm," Bucky hummed, crossing his arms and getting comfortable. "I'd be willing to help you—Only..." Bucky stressed when she tried to interrupt. "If you answer a few questions first."
Baby Girl mimicked Bucky's posture with a frown. "That hardly seems fair."
"I can always call Sam."
"Fucking fine," Baby Girl grumbled.
Satisfied by the flow of things, Bucky started his interrogation. "Why are you in such a rush to go back home?" Bucky asked, deciding to start small. He could tell Baby Girl was thinking hard about her answer, trying not to give too much away. She squinted her eyes as if it were putting strain on her. He decided she would make a horrible spy.
"I left in a hurry. I only planned a day trip. I don't have any clothes or money on me."
Bucky shook his head. "That's not what I asked."
Baby Girl glared at him. "I don't understand the question."
"What's waiting for you in New York? Do you have a job? A prior commitment? A boyfriend?" Bucky stretched that last word, giving the girl a smirk.
"I don't have a boyfriend," she frowned.
"Fiancé, then," Bucky concluded. "I saw that ring in your purse." He suddenly leapt forward, grabbing Baby Girl's left hand and pulling it toward him to inspect.
She initially squeaked a protest but stayed still as he prodded her ring finger with his eyes. "Tan line," he observed, and she snatched her limb back, throwing the most menacing glare she could manage toward him.
"No fiancé," she hissed.
"I don't believe you," Bucky shrugged. "Job, then? What do you do?"
It took too long for her to answer, making it obvious she was concocting a lie in her head. "I work in the... customer field. Where I work with customers."
If Bucky wasn't on the verge of laughter, he might've cringed from the secondhand embarrassment.
"And... books." She was obviously lying. Even she didn't believe what was coming out of her mouth.
"I think my cat might be a better liar than you," He remarked drily.
The girl huffed but stayed silent.
Bucky decided to try a different tactic. "What year is it?"
The girl regarded him strangely. "2024."
"How many sides does an octagon have?"
"Eight."
"What's Sam's last name?"
"Wilson."
"Who was Iron Man?"
"Tony Stark."
"What colour is the sky?"
"Blue."
"Who locked your credit card?"
"Quentin Beck."
Bucky laughed. The girl stared at him, horrified. She gaped at him like a fish, only managing to make senseless sounds. "Y-you—w-what!"
Bucky laughed harder. "I told you that day. You seem smart, but not that smart."
"How dare you!"
"Last question. Does your boyfriend know you're here?" If looks could kill, Bucky would be dead. He raised his arms in surrender. "I won't judge. And I won't tell Sam. I'm just trying to understand the situation so I can help."
Her glare slowly softened to fatigue. "No. He doesn't know."
Bucky bobbed his head. "I figured as much." He grabbed his unlocked phone and tossed it to her, assuming she would catch it. She didn't. The device smacked her in the chest before falling on her lap, which she stared at dumbly.
"Call him," said Bucky, standing up to stretch. "Let him know you're safe. Tell him no one kidnapped you, and he can unlock your card."
She opened her mouth to reply, but Bucky beat her to it. "I can't get you a plane ticket out of here, so this is the next best thing. You want to leave? Tell Sam about Quentin Beck, and he'll let you. He isn't that big of an asshole to keep you hostage here. There's hope for him yet." Bucky stepped out of the living room but turned around and stopped to add one more thing. "Sam's been different since you arrived. He's happier. You're all he talks about to anyone. Do him one last favour; stay the weekend, and don't choose that Quentin Beck guy over him." With that, Bucky strode to the bathroom to freshen up, missing the first teardrop.
Tumblr media
His phone was returned to him an hour or so later, accompanied by an uncomfortable smile and words of gratitude. "I told him I'm safe, and no one kidnapped me."
"Is he mad?" Bucky asked.
"He's a little upset," she confessed. "Promise you won't tell Sam?"
"Only if you promise not to run away." They stared at each other for a long moment, daring the other to disagree.
"Fine," the girl finally conceded. Bucky gave her a stiff nod and turned to leave. "Wait!" she exclaimed urgently. "He's still upset. Just ignore any other messages from him, okay? He should cool down after a while."
Bucky looked into her eyes. She was beautiful and unsuspecting looking. Fiery and transparent. He scrutinized her for deceit and instead found veiled resignation. He agreed and went to the backyard, leaving her in the kitchen.
It was an especially hot day, and there was much to do. Sarah wanted to landscape the back garden, and Bucky had volunteered. He didn't know the first thing about construction, but the boys had recently introduced him to YouTube, a magical place with the answers to all his questions. Bucky began to work, moving piles of dirt, levelling the uneven ground, and placing heavy slabs of concrete to form a pathway from the back porch to the lake.
Hours later, Bucky finished with the last slab of concrete, moving further away to admire his work. There was more to finish, but Sarah would be happy with his progress. Bucky wiped his brow, groaning at the sticky feeling of sweat dripping down his neck.
He grabbed his phone from the table on the porch to check the time, surprised at the number of notifications waiting for him. Bucky was by no means popular. The only person who contacted him somewhat regularly was Sam, but these notifications were all from the same unknown number. Bucky realized with a start that the barrage of missed calls and messages he was being attacked with were probably all from Quentin Beck.
Curiosity grabbed hold of him. He did promise the girl he would ignore any messages from him, but really, this was excessive. What if something was wrong and Beck urgently needed to contact her? He tapped on the message icon without another thought.
Bucky froze when he read the latest message.
You're dead when I find you.
He immediately scrolled to the top, reading the conversation from the beginning to try and gain some context to the threat. The thread started with a long paragraph from the girl detailing her situation, followed immediately with an exhausted apology.
I'm so sorry, please don't be mad. I'll be back as soon as I can.
Where the HELL are you?
Sam was asking questions. I tried to leave, but he got suspicious. I'll be back in a couple of days. I'm sorry.
You shouldn't have fucking seen him in the first place. I warned you.
Sam's career is in my hands. It'll only take one call to ruin him. I fucking warned you to never go near him.
He's trouble. He doesn't care about you like I do. He doesn't love you like I do.
The messages got progressively worse, teetering on the edge of insanity. Promising pain and broken bones, blaming it all on her.
Why do you make me do this?
Typical narcissist behaviour.
You're dead when I find you.
Baby Girl hadn't seen any of the messages after her rushed apology, but Bucky had a feeling she wouldn't be surprised by them either way. He clutched his phone tight, taking deep breaths to calm himself down.
What a bastard. What a self-entitled, psychotic prick. Everything came into clear focus, painting a detailed painting for Bucky to observe. Her behaviour started making sense. The bags under her eyes, the lack of light in her irises, the unworn ring... the secrets.
He decided then that he wouldn't tell her about the messages if she asked. Bucky would wait for the right time tonight to bring up the topic of Quentin Beck as innocently as he could, and offer her his help. She didn't need to know the extent of Beck's threats against her life.
Plan laid out, Bucky made his way inside for a well-deserved glass of cold water when the back door swung open. Baby Girl walked out with two lemonades and a plate of sandwiches balanced between the crook of her elbow. Some lemonade spilled over her hand when she abruptly stopped ahead of him. Bucky took the drinks from her and placed them on the small table.
Baby Girl put the plate of sandwiches next to the drinks and proceeded to lick the spilled lemonade from her hands. Bucky swallowed thickly, feeling flustered at such an innocent act. "You good?"
"Yeah," she replied. "I made us lunch and lemonade. Figured you could do with something cool."
"Yeah," Bucky was suddenly parched. "It's a hot day."
Baby Girl sat down at the table and took a large sip of her drink. "Sarah and Sam went to run some errands in the city. Said they'll be back late."
"What about the boys?" Bucky inquired, sitting down and taking a sip of his own. He groaned as the cool drink washed over him.
"They're having a sleepover at the neighbours." She handed him a sandwich, which he took with a smile.
"So it's just us today," he said, aware that the perfect opportunity for a less-than-pleasant conversation had just presented itself.
"Yup, just us."
An awkward silence fell over them, broken occasionally by the sound of chewing.
"The yard looks nice," Baby Girl blurted.
Bucky turned his neck to observe his handiwork. "Thanks. Still a lot to be done."
"You must be tired."
Bucky shrugged. "Not really. The heat is worse than anything else."
"Is that because of the serum?" she asked, immediately flushing with embarrassment. "Sorry! That's so insensitive of me. And it's none of my business."
"You're good," said Bucky. "I don't mind. Yeah, it's because of the serum. My stamina's through the roof."
"Wow," she admired.
"Could've been real handy with the ladies, back in the forties." Bucky flushed at the silence that followed. "During the war, I mean!" he corrected. "I could've used the stamina during the war."
The girl finished her lemonade in one long sip. "Right, of course."
"For battle. On the battlefield." Bucky finished his own drink, then stuffed another sandwich in his face to keep from further embarrassing himself.
Bucky's phone lit up with a notification, and the girl flicked her eyes toward the screen. "It's my neighbour," he told her. "He's looking after my cat."
Baby Girl visibly deflated. "That's nice," she smiled. "What's its name?"
"Alpine." Bucky decided this was as good a time as any to ask a few questions. "Listen, did you tell Quentin Beck where you are?" Bucky hated the scared look on her face.
"He knows I'm at Sam's," she started slowly.
Bucky took a deep breath and willed his expression to remain neutral. "Does he have an address?"
She shook her head in denial, and only then did Bucky find himself relaxing. He wouldn't need to worry about Beck showing up announced, which gave him more time to come up with a proper plan.
"I'm gonna take a dip," Bucky gestured to the lake. "Wanna join?"
"Maybe later."
Bucky stood up with a shrug. "Suit yourself." And he took his shirt off with one pull.
He felt Baby Girl's stare burning through his skin as he jogged toward the small lake, discarding his pants along the way. He entered the water in a running dive, letting gravity pull him to the bottom before kicking away and breaking the surface with a loud whoop. His body temperature slowly stabilized as he ran laps along the perimeter. He could still feel her stare as he stopped to tread.
"The water's amazing!" he yelled. "Join me!"
She threw her arms in the air. "I don't have a bathing suit."
Bucky floated on his back, arms crossed behind his head. "Who cares?"
After a moment's hesitation, Baby Girl laughed. "You're right. Who cares?" She grabbed the hem of her top and lifted it over her head, revealing a white camisole underneath. She stopped near the edge of the lake, fixing Bucky with a faux glare. "Well, turn around. You're crazy if you think I'm undressing in front of you."
Bucky smirked at her teasing nature and turned away, listening for a splash. After a moment, the water rippled, followed by a shrill scream. "Can I look?"
"Go ahead." Baby Girl laughed when Bucky whipped his head, sending a stream of water flying her way from his hair. "Damn, the water's cold."
"Feels good, though."
"Yeah."
They settled into a comfortable silence, floating on their backs and sneaking glances at each other. Her white camisole had turned see-through, giving Bucky a delicious glimpse of her skin and pale blue bra. He averted his gaze, trying to calm his racing heart.
"I'll miss this when I'm gone," said Baby Girl softly. "The peace and quiet."
"You don't have to leave," Bucky urged. "You could stay."
She turned to face him. "I can't," she replied sadly.
"You're scared for Sam," he observed, remembering the texts. "Why? He's the fucking Falcon. He helped defeat Thanos. Beck is nothing compared to that."
The girl's eyes widened in alarm. "How do you know that?"
Bucky didn't tell her he read the messages. He would've come to the same conclusion sooner or later. He ran his hand through his wet hair. "I used to be a spy." He fixed her with a pointed look. "And you're a horrible liar. Seriously, you are worse than my cat."
She huffed but didn't argue. After a moment of silent contemplation, she settled on her back and regarded him doubtfully. "Quentin has connections with the CIA, FBI, NSA, and Homeland Security. Any government official out there, he's probably on a first-name basis with them." Her face contorted in pain. "He could ruin Sam's life with a single phone call. I swore I would never give him a reason to."
Bucky's jaw clenched tightly. "What's the worst that bastard could do? Sam knows people too."
"Not enough. He could pin a drug charge. It wouldn't even have to stick. The bad press would be enough to ruin Sam's reputation."
"That's illegal," Bucky pointed out dangerously. Quentin Beck was turning out to be worse than Bucky imagined.
"He doesn't care about that when it comes to me," she dismissed. "Quentin can do no wrong when it comes to love."
"That's not love!" Bucky snapped, losing the last of his patience. They were floating dangerously close to one another, elbows brushing.
"Regardless. There's nothing to be done."
"You could stay," Bucky implored. "I'd keep you safe."
They were even closer now, both on their backs, faces turned toward the other, lips dangerously close. For a moment it looked like she might say yes. She opened her mouth to reply, but the sound of a car door slamming shut interrupted her.
"That must be Sam," she said, and the moment was broken.
Bucky moved first, swimming to the deck to grab his discarded pants. "I'll give you some privacy," he said, dragging the fabric up his legs. He left without another word.
Incessant knocking at the front door stopped Bucky in his tracks. Sam always carried a key. Bucky dropped his shirt and went around the house to the front. The car parked in the drive was unfamiliar and out of place. Sleek and shiny and black. Expensive. The man waiting impatiently at the door looked more out of place than the car. Dressed in a gray suit, brown loafers, and black shades, the man looked like he belonged on the cover of a real estate advertisement.
"Can I help you?" Bucky snapped, feeling on edge.
The man lifted his shades to regard Bucky with a look of contempt, eyeing his exposed chest and metal arm with barely concealed disgust. "Yeah, maybe you can. Is this the Wilson residence?"
"Depends on who's asking."
"A friend," the man replied.
"Funny. I didn't know Sam had any friends."
"That's because I'm not Sam's friend," he scorned. "I'm looking for a girl."
Bucky inched closer to him. "I know lots of girls," he quipped.
The man smiled dangerously. "I'm looking for a very specific one. Yay high, unchecked temper, tendency for trouble."
Bucky laughed without humour. "Doesn't narrow much down, buddy. I'm gonna have to ask you to leave."
"You must be the Winter Soldier," the man mused.
"I go by James Barnes," Bucky snapped. "You must be Quentin Beck." Bucky had recognized him right away.
Quentin Beck spread his arms in a wide gesture. "The one and only. I suppose she told you about me."
"She didn't have to. I can smell a bastard from a mile away."
Beck clenched his fists, face contorting nastily, and stepped forward. "You little—"
Despite the sweltering heat, Bucky felt a coldness wash over him. His advanced senses picked up on footsteps coming from around the back. His head whipped to the side just as the girl rounded the corner. She wore jeans and nothing else, her white camisole still wet and slightly see-through. Bucky watched with dread as she took in the sight in front of her, blinking confusedly. The colour slowly drained from her flushed cheeks, and she froze as her brain caught up with her eyes.
"Sweetheart?" Beck's demeanour rapidly changed, and he stalked forward with his hands raised non-threateningly. "I've been looking everywhere for you."
Bucky blocked his path with a glare.
When Beck noticed her state of undress, he became angry, clenching his fists at his side. He noted Bucky's bare chest, his low-hanging jeans, and the girl's see-through top. "What the fuck is going on here?" Beck demanded.
When he fixed his icy glare on her, she reanimated, staggering back with a loud gasp, Baby Girl tripped over a rock but continued scooting backwards as she fell over. The raw fear emanating from her was enough to undo Bucky. Bucky shoved Beck as hard as he could—without using his super strength—and slammed him against his car.
"Motherfucker," Beck hissed, clutching his side.
"I suggest you leave before you really piss me off," Bucky threatened, stalking closer.
Beck staggered away, putting his car between them. "Not without my fiancé," he seethed.
"Fiancé, huh?" Bucky turned toward the girl. She was still on the ground, carefully watching the scene with wide eyes. He waited until she looked at him, then gave her a soft smile, silently urging her to trust him. "Are you his fiancé, Baby Girl?"
She jerked her head in denial. "No."
"There you have it. You heard the lady." Bucky's voice lowered dangerously. "Now leave. Before I make you leave."
"She's lying!" Beck screamed. And Bucky got the impression he was used to getting his way. "I gave her a ring."
Bucky had cornered Beck against the hood of his car and was looming dangerously over his crouched figure. "I don't see any ring. Now leave!"
Beck unlocked the car, jerking open the driver's side and inelegantly lumbering in. "This isn't over yet, Winter Soldier," he spat, and with one last seething glare toward the girl, he sped off.

Every Pedro character and every single line they say.*
Exactly what it says on the tin! A list of every Pedro character and their full dialogue/lines. I'm putting this together, mostly as a writing source.
Sometimes, referring to an original character's dialogue can help when trying to write for them. For example, you can see patterns in their speech, words they favour to use over again etc... So, I hope this proves useful for anyone writing for Pedro's Characters. Or if you just want to simply read the dialogue for fun.
☝🏻This will be updated regularly, and when new characters are added to Pedro's portfolio of works.
*List does not include certain adverts, skits, voiceovers, guest appearances on shows/SNL, or table/script readings.
Please see below for all the Pedro characters in TV, podcasts and film. Translations included.
Enjoy! 🖤
Buy me a Ko-fi ☕️ If you like my work and enjoy what I put out there, you have the option of buying me a Ko-fi, if you'd like to. It's never expected, but always greatly appreciated. 🖤

imagine seeing bucky after six months
Tumblr media
"Shit."
"What now."
Taking a last hit, you flicked the cigarette to the ground and crushed it with a heavy black boot. Yelena looked to where you nodded, turning to see Sam Wilson and worse, Bucky Barnes soldiering right towards the two of you. She groaned outward, rolling her eyes.
"Don't they have their own shit to do."
Avoiding Bucky's glaring stare, you nearly pinched the bridge of your nose out of frustration and nerves. It had been about six months since you last seen Bucky, leaving him rolled up in a thin sheet as you escaped the hotel room. See, the thing was, you liked fucking Bucky Barnes - you were human after all, but things were complicated at best. Plus, Sam sorta severely disliked Yelena and your antics; always interrupting their investigations but was it your fault that you were simply better at espionage?
"Of course the two of you would be here." Sam was annoyed and you could only smile at the man, hands on your hips. Yelena examined her nails and shrugged. "Well, the job needs to get done and you two idiots are about three days late..."
Holding back a smile, you finally braved a look at Bucky and nearly flinched at how focused he was on you. Giving him a slight nod, you listened to Sam and Yelena bickered until a peace offering was given by Bucky. Yelena began to protest but you spoke to her in her native tongue and she practically pouted. Bucky inserted himself into the conversation and Sam demanded everyone speak in a language he too could understand.
You smirked. "Fine, we'll play nice...for now but my sister gets the kill."
Sam said no one was getting killed but he was naïve to what was really going on and you gave Bucky a look that questioned if he understand. Without Sam noticing, he gave a slight nod and you knew he got it.
"This is Red Room business, so we'll handle the asshole." Yelena spoke quietly and it sent a shiver down your spine - her tone left no room for objections and Sam dropped it. He mentioned the hotel they were staying at and you agreed to meet them to trade intel.
"We'll be there in two hours, we have some sisterly business to do."
Once everyone was satisfied with the arrangements, Yelena started toward the car but Bucky asked to speak to you...alone. Sam took the hint, drifted away down the street as you turned to your sometimes booty call. He looked good as always and it sent sinking feelings down your stomach. Hands in his pockets, he asked how you were.
"Shit hotels, but I always enjoy spending time with my sister."
He gave a small smile but it quickly faded. "How are you really?"
The interior wall you built fell when he reached down to your hand; his warmth filled all the little corners of coldest in your heart and you felt weak. He made you feel weak all because he made you feel wanted. Bucky was your downfall and that's why you kept him at a distance but he was the king of distance and downfalls. Yet, he stood there with the warmest touch a person had ever placed on you. It made you desperate to give in and even Yelena had pointed out the personal torture you were putting yourself through.
"You two are alive, why not?"
What a poet, your sister.
"I want some alone time with you, later..."
Feigning slickness, you purred at him. "Miss my body that much?"
Bucky didn't take the bait, inside he pulled you roughly against him. His hands held yours down at your side and he looked, no, he stared deep into your eyes. "I don't want you just like that, don't be stupid."
That should have pissed you off but it didn't. Instead you softened under his touch and you whispered okay. That's all you could say and when he released you, he touched the side of your face before kissing you gently on the lips. "Six months is too long..."
"...I know, I'm sorry."
He smiled then and kissed you on the forehead. The lightness reappeared in his eyes and he smirked. "Not so tough for an former assassin, are you?"
"Takes one to know one," you snapped back, smiling as he held your hand. He gave it a squeeze and promised to see you later. "Go spend time with your sister, I'll see you soon."
"Promise?"
The childlike air in your tone would have made you flinch months ago but it felt good to indulge. It felt good to be wanted and to have what you truly want - and that was the man in front of you.
"Promise," he smiled, giving your hand a kiss before departing to where Sam had disappeared. Watching him until he was no longer in sight, you felt an arm move around your shoulder and Yelena whistled.
"Oh you got it bad."
"Oh, fuck off."

Romance Tropes with Marvel Characters
Pairing: Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Thor, Loki, Tony Stark, Kate Bishop, Peter Parker x Reader
Tags: fluff, enemies to lovers, kissing, sleeping around, doubt, confession, teasing
A/N: Back with my favorite romance tropes. God there are a lot of these.
STEVE ROGERS + LAST TO KNOW
You and everyone around you know that there's feelings between the two of you, everyone but Steve himself. He's not dumb, far from it but when it comes to romance you need to be really direct with him because subtlety has been getting you nowhere really fast and you needed to fix that. You need clear, blatant flirting, you need to wink at him, you need to tell him you like the things he does, that you like him point blank. Once he gets that he will take the gentleman route and ask you on a date.
BUCKY BARES + NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Bucky feels like there's flaws in everything he does with you, that somehow he will end up messing things up no matter how well he plans them out. His whole life has been a series of mistakes and accidents. While he knows for a fact that you're not that for him he wants to work extra hard to make sure you're not making a mistake by dating him. If only he knew that who he was was already good enough, that he is already your perfect someone. And all his imperfections are also part of why you love him.
SAM WILSON + SECRET ADMIERER
Pines over you for a good long while. Sam really wants to make sure you like him before he makes his real move so he does things like live flowers and little cute gifts in your locker. It has so be someone from the team but you don't figure out who until you catch him on his way from the flower shop, with the exact flowers appearing in your locker for the past month. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. And since you already did and seemed t be happy with his gifts he might as well confess right now, with flowers in hand.
NATASHA ROMANOFF + BEST FRIEND'S SIBLING
Natasha is always there when you go to visit Yelena and she's always teasing you. This is much to Yelena's annoyance because she knows you like Natasha too. You never get too flirty when you're in the company of others but over the phone is a different story. When you become a couple Natasha jokes about you becoming Yelena's new sibling, something which Yelena is jokingly appalled by. Natasha is the type of person to make kissy noises at you just to annoy her little sister.
CLINT BARTON + AFRAID TO COMMIT
You and Clint have had a casual on and off relationship for years. When things are about to get serious he breaks it off, saying he needs time to think about it but you never seem to move on from this one spot. While frustrating you know why that is, he's already lost his family once, he doesn't want to risk losing someone he's grown to care so much about. He would rather that he didn't start to care, that it was casual but it's not and he does care, and that's why he's scared of opening up to you further.
THOR + PROTECTOR
For such a big guy Thor can be real cagey with his romantic feelings. He will flirt for sure, he'll even try to sleep with you but he will always maintain his status as your protective best friend. In fact he will even go so far as to say that the reason he's so flirty is because he's protecting you from other people who have bothered you before. While you can appreciate that he could do all of that too if he admitted to himself that he wanted to be your boyfriend. Was it really that easy? Was he really overthinking things for once?
LOKI + OLD ENEMIES
You and Loki go way back as enemies, even the most petty things you had to argue about and see who will come out on top. That attitude eventually transferred over to the bedroom but you never stopped being enemies. You're always at each other's throats when you see each other and then pretend like you don't think about each other when you're not fighting. There's never a confession that happens between you two because there's nothing to confess, you already know that you love to hate each other.
TONY STARK + SLEEPS WITH EVERYONE BUT YOU
Being the playboy that caught feelings for you of course Tony isn't gonna make it worse by sleeping with you. He wants to so bad but once he does there would be no running from his feelings anymore. So he sleeps with other people, however he doesn't brag about it like usual, not to you anyway, but you know. Eventually it stops working, he can't stay away from you anymore. But he doesn't want to sleep with you and then confess, he has to take you out on a date, kiss you, confess and then if you still want him, sleep with you.
KATE BISHOP + FRIENDS TO LOVERS
No amount of superhero work can rip Kate away from her best friend. You bet she tells you who she is from the simple fact that she knows you'll keep it a secret and because you're used to people being after her because of her money. Sleepovers are a regular thing with the two of you, as are cuddles, kisses though... those are a bit new. She panicked when she kissed you, said it was an accident. How could it be though when you wanted it to happen too? And what if you'd like for it to happen again?
PETER PARKER + OBLIVIOUS TO LOVE
As much as he is a genius, Peter can be a little oblivious to romance. Okay, very oblivious. He's an awkward guy and he rarely makes the first move. But if you can show him that you're really into him... no he won't get it. You need to be the one to ask him out on a date. Then he will put his best foot forward and make sure you are swept off your feet. He might have been oblivious at first but not anymore, he's starting to pick up on your little cute flirting, and more importantly he's starting to flirt back.

Last First Kiss
Pairing: tfatws!Bucky x reader
Warnings: Excessive fluff, first kisses, soft Bucky in Louisiana for New Year's Eve.
Word Count: 600
A/N: Thank you for this sweet @navybrat817. This truly brightened my day and inspired a nye drabble! Hope everyone has a very Happy New Year! 💙✨
“So a little birdie told me you’ve never had a new year’s kiss…” Bucky leaned against the wood railing beside you, taking in the sunset on the bayou.
Your eyes widened before you took a deep breath. “I’m gonna kill him.” Ever the meddler, Sam would tell your secret to the first guy you’d liked in a long time.
“Yeah, I’ve been there,” he let out a laugh. “Sam always knows the exact right thing to do to get under your skin, it’s a gift really.”
You shrugged casually. “He overheard me telling Sarah. It’s no big deal.” It really wasn’t, but you knew why Sam was annoyingly butting in. He’d also heard you telling his sister about how smitten you were with his dark-haired best friend.
“Well let me know if you want to change that.”
Heat rushed to your cheeks, a small smile playing at your lips. There was no way. “The killing him part or the kiss?”
Bucky smirked, charmed and hopeful that you’d agree. “I haven’t had one in a while, so keep me posted,” he checked his watch. Only a few more hours until midnight. The Wilson household had planned a lowkey evening for the kids later, and the both of you would be in attendance.
He’d secretly had a crush on you for a little longer than you had on him and with Sam’s encouragement he figured there was no better time to do something about it.
“Haven’t committed a murder or given a kiss in a while?” You smiled sheepishly, trying awfully hard to deflect. Of all the reactions to finding out you’d never had a new year’s kiss, this was the last one you expected. Sam’s best friend, a guy you thought was off-limits, offering to change things for you.
He let out a laugh, you were too adorable. “Think about it, sweetheart. I hear it’s good luck,” he playfully shot you a wink before heading back to the barbeque.
Exhaling a breath you didn’t know you were holding, you turned back to look at the setting sun over the calm waters. Colorful, peaceful, and captivating.
Later that night.
Sam nudged Sarah before shouting. “Guys it's 12:04, you’ve rung in the new year! You can break it up now.”
Grinning against Bucky’s lips, you felt your cheeks warm again. Busted.
Bucky begrudgingly pulled away from you, turning to glare at Sam. “Just getting as much luck from this as we can, man. Feel free to look away,” he muttered breathlessly before meeting your gaze with a soft shy smile. His thumb stroked your jawline, noting how beautiful you were up close.
He went from menacing to cute in a split second. How did he do that? It didn’t really matter because the way he looked at you, well you sure could get used to it.
“Yeah, look somewhere else,” you teasingly scowled at Sam before tugging at Bucky's henley and kissing him again. He cupped your face and poured himself into the kiss. He thought he was out of practice, but it surprised him how easily he fell back into step with you. Soft and sweeter than anything you could’ve imagined. Warm and careful with just the right amount of desire to leave you aching. Nothing you could have expected, yet everything you silently wished for.
Neither of you knew it then, but what a lucky year it would turn out to be. Never did you imagine that the man that would be your first new year’s kiss would also be your last; for many years in between, and every day after.

Uncle Buck Returns
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Single Aunt!Reader
Summary: Our little menace of a nephew has secured a date for you. Here is part 2 to Uncle Buck.
Word Count: 1401
Masterlist: One | Two | Three | Four | Five
A/N: what in the actual f👀 is going on 😅 I was expecting maybe 10 or so people to read Uncle Buck. My notifications haven't stopped going off since I posted. Thank you so much everyone that read it and enjoyed it. I hope you also enjoy this little continuation. P.S. GIF replies are my love language so if you enjoy send me your best (or worst 😈) 🫶
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As soon as the pair returned home and walked through the front door, Benji skipped his way in shouting, "MAWWAGE! MAWWAGE IS WHAT BWINGS US TOGEVAH TODAYYYY!" Arms high above him as he rushes through the living room in search of his parents.
"Benji, please don't make me regret letting you watch my favorite movie," you sigh, flopping onto the couch, hands covering your face.
He stopped short and looked back at you, "Have you the wing?" He bowed and giggled then turned back around to continue on with his search.
"You're back!" Your sister shouted while she snatched Benji up into her arms, covering the small boy in kisses. "Did you have so much fun with Auntie today? Why are we shouting Princess Bride quotes?" She gasps, "Did you get to meet the dread pirate Roberts??"
Benji looks up at her in confusion, "What? No Mom, we saw Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson! And guess WHAT!"
"Ohhh, what?!"
He whispers into her ear and throws his head back laughing like a tiny evil madman.
"You did what???!" She laughs.
You groan from the couch.
She walks both of them over to you.
"Did I understand him correctly, is there something we should know? Are you betrothed to a super soldier?"
"I'm gonna go throw up," you groaned again.
Tumblr media
Sweating doesn't even begin to cover it.
Your entire body feels like it's on fire.
You agreed to meet Bucky for a late lunch the following day. You've been sitting on the floor by your closet for what you thought was 30 minutes now, staring into the clothing abyss, spiraling into an internal panic.
You don't go on dates. You keep to yourself. It's comfortable. Living in a combined household with your sister and her small family you're certainly never alone.
What are you even supposed to talk about?
Your current job is nothing super exciting to talk about. You do like to go to concerts and musicals... However you can't really imagine the 106-year-old super soldier going to a pop punk or metal show, nor do you imagine him attending Wicked 3 times. Note to self: do not bring up Rogers the musical. Yikes.
Your sister has already talked you off a ledge 3 times since last night when you got home.
While still wallowing in self pity and loathing, two outfits are scattered by you and you have three more in your arms.
Your sister walks by your open door and backtracks peering in.
"Y/n," she sighs, "just wear the first outfit. You'll look great, I promise." She walks over and grabs the armful of clothes from you, dumping them on the bed and grabbing the first outfit. Your favorite pair of black jeans and a sweater you bought specifically because it was so damn soft.
The doorbell rings and your eyes widen. "He's early?!"
"He's on time, you would have noticed if you weren't staring into space for the last hour."
"WHAT?!"
"Don't worry we'll keep him distracted while you finish getting ready."
"Oh sure, don't worry. That fills me with all the confidence..."
"Benji has already asked him to marry you, what's the worst that could happen now?"
"I don't even want to think about the answer to that. So many possibilities come to mind."
You grab your outfit and start rushing around.
Tumblr media
"Can I get you something to drink, Bucky?" Your sister asks while she moves about the room.
Bucky and Benji are seated at the kitchen table, just off from the living room. Benji is across from him with his tiny arms crossed on the table, and a very serious look on his face.
"I'm fine, thanks."
"Ok, I'm sure she'll be down in just a moment. Make yourself at home. Hopefully we will see you around again soon," she smiles, "I'm just gonna go switch the laundry over quickly. Benji," she looks down at him while pointing two fingers at her eyes and then over to him, "behave yourself," she warns while leaving the room.
The table stare down continues.
"Where do you live?" Benji asks.
"In the city," Bucky answers.
"You have a house?" Benji fires back.
"Apartment."
"Own or rent?"
"Rent."
"Where’s your office?"
"I don’t have one."
"How come?"
"I don’t need one."
"Where’s your wife?"
"Don’t have one.."
"Yet," Benji squints with a tiny smirk, "but how come?"
"It's a long story."
"You have kids?"
"No I don’t."
"How come?"
"It's an even longer story."
"Do you prefer dogs or cats?"
"Both are fine."
"Do you have one?"
"I have a cat. Names Alpine."
"Is Steve Rogers really on the moon?"
"What's your record for consecutive questions asked?"
"38."
"He's up there all right." Bucky answers with a nod.
"Your metal arm and regular arm match well with how ginormous your muscles are."
"How nice of you to notice."
"I’m a kid, that’s my job."
Bucky raises a brow, "Why am I getting the 3rd degree here?"
"Just checking in on my investments. If this didn't work I was going to ask our neighbor Frank, but he kind of sucks," Benji shrugs his shoulders.
Before Bucky can question the language and what the 8-year-old said, you walk into the kitchen and quickly look back and forth between the two of them.
"Oh no, how long have you two been alone in here?? What did he say?" You ask Bucky, looking over at Benji quickly after, "What did you say??" Your eyes narrow.
Benji grins and holds your purse up for you. "Have fun storming the castle," he cheekily smiles with that glint in his eyes.
"Benji," you glare down at him.
Bucky clears his throat while standing up from the table. Walking over to you he points to a small bouquet of flowers that were already in a vase waiting on the kitchen table, "Um, these are for you…" he smiles.
"Thank you so much, they're beautiful," your reply is breathless while you look at the arrangement filled with a small mix of your favorites.
"He also gave me this," Benji holds up an RC truck with a Captain America shield painted on the side.
"That was very nice of him, did you say thank you?"
"Duh," he rolled his eyes while grabbing the remote to the car and rolling it out to the living room, "Thanks Future-Uncle Bucky," he grins and chases after it.
"Anyone ever tell you guys he's kind of a strange kid?" Bucky whispers conspiratorially while offering his arm to you.
You throw your head back with a quick laugh. "Oh, you have no idea."
Tumblr media
Your date is going better than you expected.
You have managed to not make a complete fool out of yourself so far and both of you seemed to be enjoying your time together.
You have apologized multiple times for Benji's antics.
Bucky laughed, "He reminds me a bit of a young Steve and my sister Rebecca combined. Didn't realize that combo was possible, it's a little terrifying. I hope they have great medical insurance," he jokes.
"His father's a nurse, so we have in-house medical on demand. My sister tried to convince me to go to law school so someone can represent him when he undoubtedly tries to take over the world. Guess I can save some money and time on law school now that we have a super soldier plus a Captain America connection that can potentially stop him before lawyers need to be involved."
"Your sister already welcomed me to the family when she opened the door to let me in," he smirks.
You put your face in your hands, elbows leaning against the table in support.
"Well now you know where her small menace gets it from."
Bucky helps pull your chair out for you as you're both about to leave. As you stand up your purse falls off the back of your chair, spilling some of its contents on the floor when it lands.
Bucky ducked down to help collect your things when something shiny appeared next to your chapstick. His eyebrows furrow as he picks both up and holds them up to you.
You let out a slightly strangled cough as you realized what he was holding up to you.
Bucky Barnes was kneeling holding up your peppermint chapstick and your Grandmother's opal ring that was supposed to be safely in your jewelry box at home.
...Benjamin!

If Without You
part one | part two
bucky barnes x fem!reader
"After opting to resettle in Delacroix, Louisiana; Bucky Barnes finally found the peace he yearned for. Though, when a friend of the Wilson's past successfully inconveniences him with the butterfly-in-the-stomach thing, he doesn't know if he could possibly complain."
[3.6k] | fluff fluff fluff, bucky's got a crush and he doesn't know how to deal with it, savage sam, the happiness and peace bucky barnes deserves, kissing!! ill do a part 2 just because happy bucky makes me wanna slide down the wall while weeping
reblog and/or like for a kiss, feedback much appreciated! not proofread.
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes yearned for a lot of things. He yearned for the sanity he had back in the forties, the connection he had with Steve, the way ladies swarmed around him before he was deployed to Europe, or the small fraction of peace Wakanda offered him…
But one thing he missed the most was to… feel things freely. Be the good old Bucky for once; be a man, a human being- not a vicious cycle of a man who doesn't allow himself to be happy like he should. Hell, Sam Wilson could talk his ears off about how he should treat himself with the same amount of respect he treats others, but it just wasn't that easy of a habit to change.
Not that he was unhappy with how things were going at that very moment, relocating to Louisiana -or 'following Sam around like a lost puppy', Sam's words, not his- was easily one of the best choices he made. The nightmares continued for the most part, but he felt like The Winter Soldier was buried deep enough to never resurface again. And the relief of being sure of that, how wonderful of a riddance finally making amends was; for once in his life, Bucky was sure Steve would be proud of him.
He helped out with the family business mostly, starting to get his way around a boat even though Sam didn't nearly trust him with that machine enough to let him go on a ride by himself. Not that Bucky minded anymore, having Sam by his side wasn't as bad as he made it out to be for the past months and, sure, it's hard to accept, but he felt himself growing closer to the man by each passing day.
They'd share sunsets together. A bottle of beer tucked tight in their palms, quiet waves lightly swaying the boat beneath their feet as the remnants of the sun shined through the water. The chit-chat was repetitive but never boring, and if Bucky wasn't ashamed to do so, he could probably admit that it felt good to talk to somebody.
He spent a lifetime not even sparing a word to anyone.
"... And like, the texture of it was so off that it felt like I was wearing a condom or something," Sam rambled on, stiff leaves crunchy under their feet as the duo walked through the path to the Wilson residence. "Really missing the good old days where fabric was taken seriously."
"You're the only person who's taking fabric seriously." Bucky commented, earning a scoff with a smile hidden under. "Better safe than sorry. I'm not opposed to condoms."
"Chill out, Mr. Sex Education, I'm not opposed to them either. I just don't want my t-shirts to feel like them." reaching for the front door to push it open, Sam allowed Bucky to enter first, shutting the door behind them. His attention was snatched away from their insightful conversation as he knitted his brows a little, following the sound of the light chatter in the kitchen with Bucky close behind.
"Hey th- Holy shit." he muttered out, glancing between his sister and someone he hasn't seen in a long, long time with his lips parted. "Am I crazy or is that Y/N?"
"In the flesh," your laugh felt as if it lit up the entire household with a deep ember gleam as Sarah joined along, your arms immediately wrapping around Sam's shoulders in a tight hug. "Missed you, buddy."
Bucky shot a glance at the others and then at Sarah. She must have noticed the curiosity in his eyes as she moved a little closer and mumbled, leaning against the counter between them. "Childhood best friends," she chuckled softly, watching you and Sam seemingly catching up as quickly as you could. "Haven't seen her since highschool."
You noticed Bucky's presence then. You knew him, obviously, you weren't all that disconnected from the world- yet he seemed much less intimidating when he was smiling at you, one hand going up to offer you a small wave. He was understandably built, shiny metal bicep peeking through the short arm of his blue shirt, two dog tags dangling down from his neck and shining along with his incredibly beautiful- alright, pretty- okay, that's not a good sign- his incredibly mesmerizing eyes. Yeah, that works.
You reached in almost immediately to shake his hand, a grin on your lips as he didn't immediately let go. "Y/N."
"Bucky." he replied, earning a nod from you before you looked at Sam again, pointing towards the pot of tea Sarah brewed for you earlier. "Tea, you guys?"

It's either you were a comedian, or Bucky really needed a good laugh recently because God, his cheeks started to hurt from how much fun he was having with that shared conversation. As the Wilson's and you reminisced about the good old days -mostly with a shit ton of funny stories sprinkled in between-, you told everyone about how your life had been since you left the city.
"I missed it here, to be honest." your slight hum pulled an 'aww' out of Sarah. "I went to see my father's doctor a few weeks after the funeral to thank him, you know, for his efforts. He told me that, um, my dad talked about this place so fondly and I just realized, you know. Realized that if there's peace in this world, it's here."
Bucky nodded slightly at that.
"I mean, I'll still work remotely but I don't think I'll go back to the city. The past year- it was just me, practically living in the hospital." Sam's hand found yours as he gave it a slight squeeze, his signature smile causing relief to surge through your veins.
"L/N residence kind of needs some TLC since the last time anyone's been there but we'll help out, alright?" he offered, pulling a grateful smile out of you as you sighed and gave his shoulder a firm pat. "This guy over here is good at lifting things, you should make use of him."
"I'm a human being, not a cyborg-" as Bucky was about to complain, your slight laugh cut him off, reducing his reaction to a shrug. "Alright, sure. Lifting things, here I go."
Tumblr media
'Some TLC' was an understatement.
With Louisiana's humid summers and freezing winters, any Delacroix resident in their right minds would routinely give their houses a check. But you haven't been here for so long; asking for your dad to move in with you after your mom passed away was the correct thing to do, and obviously, the lack of care in the house for the past years definitely showed.
Bucky wanted to see the house when you announced that it's late and you had a lot of things to do at home anyway, offering to come with you just in case there was anything urgent to do. You didn't think much of it before agreeing, as you let him drive with you all the way over to your house- approximately the same size as Sarah's, but absolutely lacked TLC.
"Home sweet home," you mumbled through the breeze of the night, hands in your pockets before you pulled your keys out and let him in, hitting the light switch for the room to brighten up. The house seemed so cosy despite the old furniture and the crumbling layer of paint on the walls which definitely needed a varnish, there were a few spiderwebs here and there and obviously, a good amount of dust, but hey, he'd kill to live somewhere like this instead of the annex cabin Sam prepared for him. "It's not that bad, just some paintwork and I gotta fix a few things."
"Yeah, not as bad as Sam made it sound like," he hummed, earning a soft chuckle from you as you walked towards the kitchen area. "I hope you like coffee." you hummed, but as soon as you opened the cupboard door, you were met with the sight of yet another cellar spider so you shut it back immediately. "I hope you like spider flavored coffee."
It was his turn to laugh as he walked towards you, slightly hovering over you before opening the cabinet again, totally ignoring the spider crawling there as he reached for the coffee jar. "Spiders are a good sign," he spoke softly, helping you with the mugs too before you edged away towards the sink to give them a good wash. "At least you won't have to deal with other insects. Spiders eat 'em."
"Yeah, but I don't exactly wanna be roommates with them." you shook your head, cold water against your hands as you scrubbed away the mugs. "I mean, would my thoughts change if they decided to pay rent, sure, but-" his laugh cut you off again, successfully placing a smile on your lips as you started to make coffee for the both of you.
"That's rich." he commented, leaning against the countertop as he watched you maneuver through the kitchen. "I hope this doesn't come off weird but, um, I'm actually kinda glad you came. The age average is quite high here, so.."
"I'm pretty sure you're single handedly bringing that number up," you playfully teased, Bucky's scoff making you laugh and God, you felt like you haven't smiled so much in just a couple of hours ever since you left here.
"Oh, so that's how it is? Ageism much?"
"Call it whatever," you shrugged, finally handing him his own cup of coffee as you held yours, leaning against the island counter right in front of the one he was currently against. "I was actually kind of worried that I wouldn't find anyone to talk to here, except for the Wilson's, obviously. For the first time in a long time I feel at home, and I think I'm glad you're a part of it, too."
His smile was tender as he averted his gaze from you a little bit, shrugging before bringing his cup to his lips and taking a small sip. "To be fair, I feel the same way. I feel at home."
Tumblr media
Bucky was easily the most selfless man on the planet, you thought.
He was quite adamant about helping you out with the rest of the housework, even coming with you all the way to the city center to pick up everything that you needed. Thank goodness that your father was smart enough to invest in a Dodge pickup truck, you were able to get everything in one go.
"Let's just get this over with," you sighed, carrying the bucket of paint over to the living room as Bucky followed suit with the paint rollers and the smaller brushes to get the edges. "Anything to get this process done quicker."
He laid out the paint tray on the floor before crouching by the bucket, opening it swiftly before pouring some over to the tray. "Sure thing. It won't take long anyway, don't worry."
"Would you mind if I put on some music?" you asked, happily pulling your phone out when he shook his head to both sides with a quiet 'nah'. "Anything specific you want?"
"I like 40's music, so.." he trailed off for a moment, chuckling to himself before removing the tape cover of the paint roller, slowly dipping it on the paint before rolling it a few times on the protruding side of the tray. "Just put on the ones you like. It's about time I listen to some newer stuff."
"Alrighty," your hum filled his ears, and he momentarily looked away from the paint to look at you. Feeling his gaze, your eyes met his, but he averted his gaze to finally start painting the wall instead. Deciding to go with your favorite, you hit the shuffle button, setting your phone down on the couch before grabbing your own roller and doing the same.
It was a mortifying realization as you glanced at him from time to time, but his concentrated face made you feel lucky to be able to witness such a sight. His brows were slightly knitted, lips pursed into probably the most soft-looking frown someone like him could muster. Someone who went through decades of pain. Slight stubble made his entire face look even more chiseled than it originally was, and God, you wanted to feel it against your fingertips.
Now that you thought of it, you wanted to feel him against you.
Not in a sexual way, I mean, sure, why not, but mostly in a way where you could take in his warmth. Let him shelter you from anything that could come your way. Even the metal arm, you wanted it wrapped around you, tugging you close to his chest tightly just to sway you from one side to another, dancing to those 40's songs that he seemed to never shut up about.
Clearing your throat, you didn't let your mind wander any further. Focusing on the task at hand, you completely missed the way his lips slightly tugged upward in a smile as he got lost in thoughts of you. About how he wanted to shelter you from anything that could come your way. Wrap his arms around you, tug you close to his chest tightly just to sway you from one side to another, dancing to the songs he missed listening to so much.
If only it came easy to tell you about it all.
Tumblr media
"Ask. Her. Out."
"What?" Bucky's I'll-kill-you scowl was enough to scare an entire army away, but not Sam. Sam knew him like the back of his hand and judging by the way he was acting around you, asking you out proved itself to be mandatory. "Who?"
"I'm going to ignore that last word," shaking his head to both sides, Sam leaned back on his seat, gentle swaying of the boat lulling him into losing the last remaining pieces of filter he had. "Y/N. You're basically living by her ass, either stop being creepily attentive or ask her out."
"I'm not being creepy. Just helping out." Bucky grumbled under his breath, arms folded against his chest as he kept watching the stranger boats swimming through the lake. "She's not complaining."
"Yeah, because I bet your ass that she's expecting you to ask her out too, man," Sam's exhausted sigh caused Bucky to roll his eyes. "C'mon, she's nicer than anyone else you could've considered. What's there to lose?"
"What if she says no?"
"Why the fuck would she say no? Have you seen yourself, Bucky?"
"Are you hitting on me?"
"Alright, for fuck's sake," getting right back up on his feet, Sam walked towards the rudder inside, figuring it's time to get back -totally not because Bucky's paranoia was driving him crazy-. "Most of the shit she did for the house wouldn't take that long to finish. Unless you two are incredibly slow idiots, she was dragging it out too."
That kind of made sense to Bucky, sending his stomach into a slight turmoil as he faced the other side of the boat- just so Sam wouldn't see the excitement on his face. "Stop being ridiculous, she wants to get it done as soon as possible."
"But you two won't have an excuse to see each other as much as you do now, once it's all finished." Sam pointed out matter-of-factly, the grin of victory apparent on his lips when he couldn't hear any protest from the other. "How tragic."
"Fine. Just edge in, I'll go talk to her."
But he didn't even know what to say. Where to begin, how to even come close to explaining how he was feeling. Even he wasn't sure how one would describe it. But Sam's words- they planted hopes waiting to bloom with all their glory on his chest. Of course. You were dragging it out.
How you'd offer him to watch a movie with you instead of putting together that cabinet you bought because "It's considered slavery if I let you work any longer!", or when you'd pull over by a coffee shop to share a plate of tres leches because "I bet they didn't make it as good in the 40's."
How you'd stare at him all grateful when you thought he wouldn't notice. How you never seemed to notice when he did the same.
At a normal rate, the two of you could've finished everything up a week ago. So, you didn't want to let go of the only excuse you had for seeing him as often, and he really had no idea what to make of it.
"So! What did you want to talk about, Sergeant Barnes?" your playful figure sat cross-legged on the sofa, and although you felt like you were doing a good job at hiding it, Bucky could feel the anxiety radiating off of you.
Half-an-hour walk wasn't nearly enough to plan for what he needed to say, he secretly prayed that you could pull the words out of his soul magically by staring at him instead.
"I, um," off to a wonderful start, Bucky couldn't help but avert his eyes, seemingly unable to move an inch from where he was seated across from you. "Didn't- not really. Just wanted to spend some time with you, you know?"
"We've been spending a lot of time together," you mumbled out, fingers fidgeting with the end of your band t-shirt which was probably a size or two bigger than you. He couldn't believe how effortlessly breathtaking you looked at that moment.
"Yeah, but without excuses this time. I don't want TLC to be our reason to get toge- um, to hang out."
"Okay!" you chirped out, slowly getting up from where you were seated with a huff. "What does my resident super soldier want to do, then?"
He couldn't help but smile at that. "I wanna know everything that you like."
"Can't exactly tell you all about yourself, Sergeant."
Tumblr media
As it turns out, Bucky was a wonderful listener.
Not even missing a word, he sat by you, a glass of half-drunk wine on the coffee table as he listened to you tell him stories of your childhood, the ones that you held close to your heart. In exchange, he told you all about his- about how he met Steve Rogers and how he was quite the ladies man back then -and you weren't surprised to hear that at all-, about the dances he'd drag all of his friends to. At one point, given the courage alcohol brought, you asked him to teach you how to dance- the way they did it in the forties. Thankfully, you were able to find some songs from those times, even Bucky's favorites as he carefully held your hand, chuckling along with you as his arms gently wrapped around your waist to keep you close.
"Bucky," you laughed out, bracing yourself against his chest as you looked down at your feet. "I'm so bad at this."
He just shook his head at you, a gentle smile painting his lips before pulling you even closer, just to guide you through it. "You're better than you give yourself credit for," his whisper brought a sigh out of you as you looked up at him, arms now wrapped around his neck with your love-sick gaze trailing through his face.
He looked so happy. So smitten- and it warmed your heart beyond anything you ever experienced before.
"Still not exactly the dance partner you would've wished for, huh?" your tone was softer than ever, quiet, as if anybody else would hear if you spoke any louder. He shook his head rather immediately before reaching in to lean his forehead against yours, eyes closed, heart in bliss.
"My imagination couldn't even come close."
It was either his incredible body warmth or the proximity which had your entire physique feeling as if it was on fire, and the way his soft breath hit against your face with each step he guided you through didn't do anything to help. You melted into it- enjoying the way he was quite obviously savoring the moment, engraving it deep in his mind to never forget how it felt to hold you close like this, with music from his time filling his heart with so much familiarity.
He knew for sure then, that you were his home. And you couldn't say that you felt any different.
It was as if your body went on auto-pilot when you pulled away a bit, only to reach back in but this time, in a way where your lips would meet his. He was naturally taken aback at first, body tensing for a split moment before stopping the movement of his feet altogether, one hand going up to rest against your cheek as you kissed him. You were gentle and he was chivalrous, a wonderful rendezvous of the feelings you two harbored for one another. Not even caring for oxygen, you kissed him through the loneliness of the past seventy years, feeling his walls crumble under the soft mewls you let out, before he pulled away to catch his breath.
"You beat me to it," he whispered out, a breathy chuckle leaving him as you still kept him close.
"Yeah, sure, Mr. Ladies Man," your taunting tone brought him back to reality as he laughed along with you. "You were too scared to do it anyhow."

From That Show
This fic is for @jemgirl86 for @sambuckylibrary's SamBucky Gift Event. It's a little angstier than my usual fics, but it organically became that way and I think it just makes sense like that. And it's a holiday fic, so you know I'll make it sweet in the end. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the fic, Shana, and thank you for getting me to write it again!

From That Show
| Pairing: SamBucky | Rated: M | WC: 21.2K | Chapters: 5/5 |
Summary: Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes were once best friends working on the same sitcom. Now, five years after Bucky mysteriously quit and abruptly cut all contact with Sam, they bump into each other during the holidays in their hometown of Delacroix.
Excerpt:
"I feel like I’ve seen you around before,” said the man, and Sam was about to shut whatever bullshit this man was going to say down but then the man lit up and blurted, “Wilson Family Seafood! I worked on your boat every summer during high school. You were in my sister’s grade – Becca Barnes.” Sam gaped. “Bucky Barnes,” said Sam as his mind raced. Sam remembered him vaguely. Bucky had been older by a few years. A little intimidating despite his kind nature and goofy disposition. Maybe it was because he was a little older. Maybe it was because Bucky always seemed to be walking around shirtless on the boat during the hot Delacroix summers. “Didn’t your sister blow up one of the chemistry classrooms?” asked Sam. Bucky laughed. “She got a few chemicals mixed up,” said Bucky like he had to tell this to a million people, “Also, it didn’t blow up. She just… gently singed the room.”

pre-hookup
"I’ll be, switchin the positions for you."
"Cookin’ in kitchen and I’m in the bedroom"
You belted out the lyrics to Positions by Ariana Grande as you put dishes away and did some much needed cleaning up in your kitchen. As you put a coffee cup away on the rack, you looked at the digital clock that sat on your wall. You knew you’d need to stop cleaning soon.
The clock read 3:45
You sighed, grabbing the last plate out of the dishwasher and drying it off. You figured you should start getting ready for the party now so that Sam wouldn't have to worry about the two of you, well more like just you being "late" to Zac’s. You are the queen of being fashionably late, but don't let Sam fool you, he is too. You can't even begin to talk about the amount of times he's been late to family get togethers because his "outfit didn't look right" or he "didn't know what to do with his hair". You swear sometimes men can be a lot worse than women in the “being fashionably late” department, good lord.
After being satisfied with how the kitchen looked for now, you decided to head to your bathroom and start getting ready for the party. You live in a one bed, one bathroom apartment in Cincinnati, Ohio. You shared an apartment with Morgan Mead,!Logan Wilson’s wife, for a while, but she never re-signed her lease so she could go live with Logan . Which you completely understood, they did just get married during the offseason. Now, living with friends is amazing, bbut sometimes it's nice to have a space all to yourself.
You walked into your grey and pink themed room and connected your phone to the bluetooth speaker sitting on the bedside table. You clicked shuffle on your playlist titled "the no skip zone". You smiled as you heard the beginning tunes to Gimme More by Britney Spears. You were more than satisfied with the song selection, so you set your phone directly em next to the speaker. You walked over to your walk in closet on the other side of your bedroom and you began to look through your clothes. You were hoping to find the red dress you planned on wearing, but you couldn’t seem to find it. It was bright red in color and form fitting with a cutout in the middle, the straps crossing over your chest to show off your cleavage. You tossed some rompers to the side, your eye’s lighting up as you saw the signature bright red color of the dress.
"Ah ha!" you smiled triumphantly. "I found it."
You carefully pulled the red fabric off the hanger and made your way to the bathroom to change. After you slipped the skin tight dress on, you moved onto styling your hair and doing your makeup. You didn't do anything too crazy and over the top, since it’s only a work Christmas party afterall. You decided on giving yourself a simple blowout. It didn't take you too long to do you hair, as you’re basically a pro at styling your hair now. Hey, what can you say? You’re a girl who loves anything to do with beauty—especially hair and makeup. Speaking of makeup, you decided to go with a more natural look for the tonight. You put on your favorite light pink blush, some false lashes, a little bit of contour and highlight on your cheekbones, and last but not least, your favorite lip plumper to finish off the look. Once you finished your makeup, you decided to put your mint chapstick into your small clutch bag.
It is a Christmas party, so you know what that means? There will be mistletoe...and if there's mistletoe, that means there's bound to be some kissing tonight. So you have to keep your lips nice and soft, because you never know who you might snog under mistletoe.
You’re just kidding, of course.
Once you were satisfied with your appearance, you took a few selfies in the bathroom mirror and posted your favorite one to your Instagram story. You captioned it: “Merry Christmas ya filthy animals❤️" Home Alone was one of your favorite movies. You turned the bathroom light off and headed back to your bedroom to grab your favorite pair of black heels. You glanced at your phone to make sure you were good on time, which you were because Sam would be at your place in about ten minutes. Well, ten minutes if he's ready on time, which you highly doubt he is. You walked over to the body mirror in the corner of your room, taking in your appearance one last time and doing any last minute fixes to your hair, makeup, and outfit. As you grabbed your clutch bag from your bedside table, you heard a knock at your front door. Wow, Sam is actually on time? That’s a first. You thought to yourself.
"Coming!" you yelled out, quickly making your way to the door to let Sam in. You brushed a piece of hair out of your face, and opened the door. You were then greeted by the face of your brother.
"Hey Y/n, you ready?" he asked, putting his hands in his pockets. Sam was wearing khakis and a Black polo. Not his nicest attire, but he was definitely more dressed up than usual.
You smiled, "Yep! Just let me go grab my phone real quick, then we can go."
"Alright. Please hurry, sis." He said, chuckling sarcastically.
You rolled your eyes, giving him your best RBF, "Yeah because it's going to take me forever to find my phone." Shaking your head, you left to go grab your phone off of your nightstand, while also turning the bluetooth speaker off in the process. You looked in your body mirror one last before heading back out to the kitchen.
Sam tightly smiled, "You ready to go now? Or do you need to check yourself out one more time?”
"Sam, I swear,” you began, "if you don't shut up, I’m not going."
He laughed, "Yeah, whatever.“ He rolled his eyes, walking out of the apartment, with you following behind him.
After you were both out of the apartment, you locked the front door securely and but your key back in your wallet. You walked down the hall down a short flight of steps, and out the main doors to Sam’s car. He got in the drivers side, while you made your way to the passenger side. Once you both heard the click of your seatbelts, Sam pulled out of the parking space.
~time skip~
About fifteen minutes later, you pulled up to Zac’s house. Okay, screw house, it was more like a mansion.
“Can I take my acceptance back?” You asked, raising an eyebrow as you surveyed the front lawn of the Taylor residence.
Sam laughed, "Nope. The guys would be pissed if I didn't bring their favorite social media manager."
You rolled your eyes, "Okay Sam, whatever you say,” you smirked playfully, “We don't want any pissed off boys now do we?"
Sam just laughed and turned the car off. He looked in his rear view mirror and ran his hands through his short hair. After he was satisfied with how he looked, he unlocked the car doors and stepped out onto the pavement. You stepped out of the car right as he did, your heels clicking on the concrete drive way. You took in the outside of the house once again, your eyes going wide. It had been a while since you’ve been at Zac’s house. Since the last time you were here he had made many new outside renovations. It made you wonder how different the inside looked now. You followed Sam up a few stairs and into the house. As the door opened, the smell of sweat, alcohol, and the sound of music greeted the two of you.
"We’re here!" Sam yelled, waltzing into the house.
"Aye, what's up man?" Ja’Marr Chase said, walking up to Sam and pulling him into that “bro hug” that all men do.
Ja’Marr turned to you, smiling. "Well if it isn't my favorite Hubbard sibling? How you doin’ girl?"
You smiled, pulling Ja’Marr into a quick hug. "I’m good! How about you ‘Marr?”
He chuckled, "Can’t complain."
"Hey Y/n!" You heard someone yell. You looked to see who called your name.
You smiled widely, seeing another Bengals wide receiver, one of the sweetest guys you know, Tee Higgins.
"Tee!" you yelled, "running" over to him. It was more like a little shuffle/trot mix. You didn’t want to trip and fall in front of everybody, that would be so embarrassing.
Tee picked you up and twirled you around, making a giggle escape from your lips. Tee is your best friend from the team. Well, him and Ja’Marr of course. Tee however, has been a close friend of yours since your first day working with the Bengals. You had gotten lost on hour first game day at Paycor—which was still Paul Brown stadium at the time. It’s such a huge stadium, and you had never been there before, so it makes sense why you would get lost easily. Luckily, Tee had noticed that you were lost and he helped you find your way around the stadium. Since then, the two of you have been best friends.
Tee put you back down on the ground and pulled away, giggling as you asked, “How are you?"
He grinned, “I’m great! Better now that my best friend is here though."
"Awe, thanks Tee. I could say the same about you." you said with a smile.
"Of course. I gotta go talk to some other guys, but it was great seeing you, babe." Tee said, reaching out to softly touch your arm.
"Okay, sounds good. It was great seeing you too! I’ll see you later though, don't worry." You said, blowing him a playful kiss.
You and Tee shared these gestures often with each other. It was never in a 'flirtatious' way though, just friendly.
As Tee walked away from you, you looked around to see who else was here. Ja’Marr and Sam were over in a corner laughing, beers in their hands. Tee went to talk to a group of some defensive players. Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon, and Logan Wilson were in another part of the room, laughing wildly about something. Your eyes scanned over to the open bar, where coach Zac Taylor stood, talking to few other players. He noticed you starting to walk in his direction, so he smiled and waved at you.
"Hey Y/n, glad you could make it!" He happily smiled, pulling you into a side hug.
You hugged back, smiling. "Hey coach, thanks for letting Sam bring me.”
He nodded, "Of course, it was no problem. It wouldn't be a party without you. Do you want a drink?"
"Sure!” you nodded. A playful smirk pulled at your lips as you said, “as long as you're the bartender. I’m not sure if I trust this guy." You chuckled, patting Evan McPherson on the back.
He chuckled, "Thanks Y/n, I wouldn't trust me either."
Zac laughed, "Yeah, honestly I wouldn't trust him either,” he pay Evan on the back, “just kidding Mcpherson, I love you man."
You chuckled to yourself. Either this is what Coach Taylor is actually like outside of the stress that comes with coaching an NFL team, or he's had a lot of booze.
"What can I get you Y/n?" Zac asked, placing his palms flat on the bar counter as his lips formed a straight line, awaiting your answer.
"Got any wine? I could use a couple glasses of red."
"On it, m'lady." he said, getting a wine glass down from the rack and filling it almost to the top. He handed you the glass, "there you go, enjoy."
You smiled, reaching for the glass, “Thanks coach."
You took a big swig of the bitter, red liquid. Hey, it's been a long week, and you could really use the wine. Maybe Sam was right, you really did need to let loose—and this party would be the perfect way to do that.
You turned to Zac, "Your house looks really nice by the way, the decorations look great!"
He grinned, putting his hands on his hip. "Thanks! Sarah and I had a fun time getting all of these up last minute."
Evan laughed, "Gosh coach, I didn't know you enjoyed putting Christmas decorations up."
Zac shrugged, "Hey, when your wife offers a good time between the sheets, you'll do anything."
Yours and Evans eyes widened at Zac’s words. You brought the wine glass back up to your lips, taking a another swig. Damn, I didn't think I would ever hear that come out of Zac Taylor’s mouth. You thought to yourself.
You let out a little laugh, "Oh lord...thanks again for the drink Zac, and for letting me come to the party, I appreciate it!"
He raised his beer bottle, which was probably his 6th one of the night already. “Any time, Miss. Hubbard. See you Monday!"
You waved, goodbye to both Zac and Evan. “See you monday! Bye Evan."
Evan waved, "See ya Y/n."
You took another sip of your wine, scanning the room once again. As you were looking around at the room full of football players, you made direct eye contact with the handsome quarterback of the team: Joe Burrow. Your breath hitched as you swallowed nervously. Every time you had any sort of interaction with Joe, the butterflies started to majorly flutter. There was just something about the tall, pale blue eyed, dirty blonde haired, kind soul of a quarterback he is that made your heart flutter. You’d never admit it out loud, but he really makes you weak in the knees. Which, by the way, would really bother Sam if he found out about the effect Joe Burrow has on you.
Sam and Joe are best friends. They have been friends since college when both of them met at Ohio State University. Even through Joe’s transfer to LSU the two still were inseparable. Their friendship is so strong that you think it’s safe to assume they see each other as brothers. That’s why you could never let Sam find out about your secret attraction to Joe.
You took another swig of your liquid courage, (which was already making you slightly tipsy) and made your way over to say hello to Joe. You greeted him with a soft smile. He smiled back, waving slightly at you.
"Hey Joe, how are you?" You asked once you got close enough to where he could clearly hear you over the commotion of the party.
Joe pulled you into a hug, leaning down slightly as his arms draped tightly over your waist. You snakes your arms around his neck.
"I’m pretty good, how about yourself?"
You slightly blushed at the contact. "I’m good too, thank you." you said, starting to get flustered. The two of you pulled away and you cringed at the feeling of your sweaty palms.
Joe raised an eyebrow at you, taking a swig of his beer. "So, Sam convinced you to come, huh?"
You chuckled, finishing off the rest of you wine. "Yeah, he uh, he did. It took a little convincing, but I’m glad I agreed to come."
Joe’s mouth quirked up in a small smirk, “I’m glad you did too,” after the words left his mouth he looked down, a shade of pink tinting his defined cheeks. Either Joe was nervous, or he was just warm. It was pretty hot in here, honestly…
"Hey,” Joe cleared his throat, causing you to snap out of your thoughts, “I could use another drink, what about you?" he asked. He must have noticed your empty wine glass that was in your hand.
You smiled, tucking your right side of your hair behind your ear. "Yeah, actually, I could."
Joe chuckled awkwardly, "Heh, me too. Shall we?" he asked, holding out his arm for you. You wrapped your arm in his as he lead you back to the open bar.
You and Joe are actually friends. Not as good of friends as you and Tee are, or even Ja’Marr, but you’re still great friends. You’ve known him since you were 17 years old from him and Sam being friends. Granted, you were never really close with him like Sam is, but you’ve still known him for a long time. Joe is also one of the players you barely ever get to see while you’re at work. Most of the time you’re taking pictures, videos, or collecting information from the receivers or the defensive players—not the quarterbacks. During a typical work day, you’re lucky to even interact with Joe at all. He’s usually busy conversing with coaches about plays, techniques, and ways he can be better. However, on the rare occasions that you do see him, they're some of the highlights of your day. Plus, you just think he's really sweet...and really hot too. But you have to keep things professional. Besides, Joe is probably unaware of any of your feelings towards him, which by the way there are none. Okay fine, maybe there's some slight feelings, but that's all. Deep down you’ve always had a little crush on Joe. But he's your brothers best friend, and for the sake of their friendship, you know you can't get between that.
You followed Joe over to the open bar to fill up your drinks. As you walked through the crowds of players, Joe kept his arm linked with yours the whole time. When the two of you neared the bar, you could see Coach Taylor behind the counter pouring more drinks. Once you reached the bar, Joe put his glass down, as you did the same with yours.
Zac looked up from the shot of whisky he was pouring for himself. He smiled, the look on his face making it obvious that he was very tipsy, “Ah, Joe. What can I get for you?"
"I’ll take another Mojito please, sir."
Zac snapped and pointed at Joe. "You got it, dude."
Okay he was definitely drunk now. You giggled at Zacs little gesture. Joe turned to you, chuckling as he asked, "what?"
You shook your head, "nothing..." You got on your tip toes to whisper in his ear. Even in heels Joe was still quite a few inches taller than you, “your coach is definitely going to be blackout drunk by the end of tonight.."
Joe let out a laugh, his eyes crinkling up as he smiled, “I wish I could say you're wrong, but..."
"WOO! Almost dropped that one, oh shit-." Zac yelped from behind the counter after he dropped a beer bottle onto the floor.
Joe pursed his lip, and looked away from the scene in front of him while you just grimaced. You both, however, were trying to hide your laughter. Zac turned back to you, a drunk smile on his face as he held out a beer bottle for Joe. Joe didn’t ask for a beer, but he took the drink from his coach anyways.
"There you go, big guy. Sorry about that!"
Joe grabbed the beer, "Thanks coach. Hey, uh, how many drinks have you had..?"
Zac scoffed, "Pfftt, like five or six beers? Maybe a couple shots of whiskey here and there..."
Your eyes widened, "Dang..."
Zac turned to you, just now acknowledging your presence, “Kate!"
"Y/n." you corrected him. You tried and your best to suppress a giggle from coming out of your mouth. Kate is the other social media for the Bengals.
"Y/n!” he corrected himself, “what can I get for you?"
"I’ll have another full glass of red and how about two tequila on the rocks please."
Zac winked, "Ah tequila. My type, and Burrows type of woman too."
Joe rubbed his neck awkwardly, a blush rising to his cheeks. "He,!he's just drunk,” he said as he gestured to his coach, “I don't know what he's saying. I don't even think he knows what he's saying."
You laughed, your cheeks growing red, “It’s alright Joe, don't worry." you paused before whisper yelling up to him, "And I agree. I don't think he knows what he's saying either.”
Joe chuckled and took a swig of his beer.
"Here you," Zac hiccuped, "Go. Red wine and tequila for the lady,” he hiccuped again. "geez that's going to get annoying really quick..." he said from under his breath.
Joe put his hand up in a waving motion, “Take it easy, okay coach?“
You waved goodbye to Zac and handed Joe one of the tequilas. "Merry Christmas." you said, smiling sweetly.
He grabbed the tequila, thanking you with a soft smile.
"BYE GUYS!” Zac yelled out, making your eyes widen, “don't get too drunk, or else there’s going to be hookups, and those hookups can sometimes make babies, and no buns need to go into any ovens, not in my house at least.." Zac said, slurring his words here and there as he spoke nonsense.
Joe grabbed your waist and led the two of you away from a rambling Coach Taylor. He led you into an empty corner in Zac’s large game room. As soon as you reached the room, the two of you burst into laughter.
"Oh my god, he just kept on going,” Joe laughed.
"BYE GUYS! don't get too drunk, or else there will be hookups!" you laughed, imitating a drunk Zac.
You and Joe were to a point where you were crying from all the laughing you were doing. Had the two of you been sober, you probably wouldn't be laughing that hard at the situation. But since your systems were full of alcohol, it was the funniest thing both of you have heard all damn day. You and Joe finished off your tequilas and other alcoholic beverages while you conversed about whatever your drunk minds thought of on the spot. After finishing off your wine, you let out an annoyed sigh, obviously very drunk now.
You looked up at Joe and bit your bottom lip. "Hey.”you said, a little tipsiness laced in your voice. Joe looked up at you, his blue eyes drooping slightly, “Yeah?"
You moved closer to him and grabbed his hand, "Let’s go dance..."
Joe smirked and put a muscular arm around your waist. "Alright babe, sounds good to me."
You were way too drunk to even register that Joe had called you babe. Honestly, if anything, his actions and words just made you horny. Some people are sad drunks, crazy drunks, angry drunks, but you? You’re a horny and bubbly drunk. Hopefully Joe hasn't noticed the horny part of it yet...but you know he's definitely noticed the bubbly drunk side of you. You led Joe out to the middle of Zac’s living room. A bunch of the guys were crazily dancing with each other and the plus ones they brought. You looked around, seeing that Sam was no where in sight. As soon as you stopped in a spot for you and Joe to dance, the song No Hands by Waka Flocka started playing.
You jumped excitedly, “I love this song!”
As the lyrics started, a wave of drunken confidence hit you. You got close up to Joe and started grinding on him as the two of you threw your hands up in the air. Joe bit his lip, putting his hands gently on your waist as you grinded along to the beat. As you continued dancing all over Joe, you could feel the warmth radiating off of him. he threw his head back slightly, groaning. "Fuck..."
You bit your lip and moved yourself off him, but still continuing to dance. You started to sway your hips, and of course shake some ass to get him even more hot and bothered— which totally worked. You glanced around the room, making sure no one, especially Sam, could see you grinding on their beloved quarterback. You knew if anyone saw, you would never hear the end of it. Plus, you could lose your job for being unprofessional. But let’s face it, you shouldn't be too worried about that because even Zac Taylor was getting down to the music too. You soon noticed that everyone was too drunk and too focused on doing their own thing to even notice you and Joe, or even anyone else for that matter. You continued to do my your thing, your own thing being grinding on Joe.
The song changed to The Way I Are by Timbaland. Joe had the biggest smirk on his face, his breathing growing heavy as he watched you continue to work your magic on the “dance floor”.
"Oh god dayum!" you heard Ja’Marr yell as he approached you and Joe. Your movements against Joe came to a halt. You started laughing as Ja’Marr wiggled his eyebrows at you. You just laughed as Ja’Marr walked away to leave you and Joe alone. As the song came to an end, Joe pulled you out of the crowd of his teammates and led you to a less crowded place. He leaned down and moved your hair away from your ear.
"We need to talk. What do you say we get out of here, and go somewhere more private...please?"
You giggled. Of course he added please to the end. Even when Joe was drunk, and very much turned on he was still polite.
You looked up at him, smirking slightly. "Sure. My place or yours?"
He wrapped an arm around your waist, leaning down. His hot breath hit tickled your neck as he spoke, “Mine works. I live just down the road and...” he glanced down, “the sooner we take care of this issue the better.”
Your breath hitched as shivers went down your spine. You are definitely getting lucky tonight…
You glanced up at Joe. His chiseled jaw was clenched and his baby blues full of lust. You took your gaze away from his jawline when you noticed what was above the two of you, “Hey...look up."
Joe furrowed his brows. "Huh?"
You pointed up at the doorway. "Mistletoe," he smiled, "you know what that means?"
"I don't think so, the alcohol is really clouding my knowledge.." you joked. Of course you knew what mistletoe meant. However, you weren’t wrong about the alcohol clouding your brain, that part was very true.
Joe reached out and gently cupped your cheek, “Then why don't I just remind you?"
You pulled your head back, “Hold up, are we about to kiss right now?" you asked, a sly smile plastered on your face. You were so drunk right now…
A smile tugged at Joe’s pink lips. He leaned down, and captured your lips in a kiss. You were taken aback at first, but you of course kissed back. This is just the alcohol talking. You remind yourself. But oh did it feel amazing to be kissing the Joe Burrow. You and Joe pulled away, both of our breaths were heavy. He leaned down, his veiny hand ran up your hip and torso before it settled on the side of your left ribcage. He brought his lips to your ear.
"Stay here, I’ll be right back..." he purred.
You shivered from the sudden wave of arousal that took over your body. You involuntarily bit your lip before saying, “Joe, please hurry. I don't know how much longer I can wait."
He winked, "You and me both, sweets."
With that, he walked out of your sight. You assumed he went to say goodbye to coaches and his teammates, and of course, thank Zac for putting the party together. You should've said your goodbyes too, but your mind was too occupied on other issues anyways. You heard your phone ding. Looking down at the screen, you saw that you received a text from Sam.
Sam- Hey Y/n. I thought I’d let you know I just left Zac’s. Emma called and said she wanted to see me...😏
You rolled your eyes at your brothers text. Snickering at his message. You read the rest:
Sam- Anyways, thanks for coming tonight. I’m assuming you're having a great time since I couldn't find you before I left lol. Don’t party too hard Y/n/n, the hangovers after Zac’s parties are never fun. Also, I’m sure Tee or Ja’Marr will be happy to take you home when it's over, but if you need me to come get you, just let me know.
You smiled and replied back to his text.
You- Hey Sammy! Thanks for letting me know, have fun with Em😉 but yeah, I’m having a great time. Thank you again for convincing me to come. This party is a BLAST, like seriously. i got the ride thing covered, but thank you! see ya monday Sam:)
You hit send and re-read the message. You did sound a little drunk, so you decided to send another text to him.
You-also, i'm like SUPERR drunk so like if my messages come off a little weird, you know why lolol🤪
After hitting send again, you felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist. You jumped at the contact, but relaxed once you realized it was just Joe.
"You scared me!"
Joe smirked, "Oh really? Didn’t notice."
You giggled as you leaned against his hard chest. You could feel the alcohol really hitting my system now. Tequila always makes you super drunk, it never fails.
Joe cleared his throat, "I said my goodbyes to everyone, and told them you left with Sam, soooo..." he trailed off, "I’m ready whenever you are, sweetheart.”
"Mmm," you hummed, "Joe, you have no idea what you calling me sweetheart is doing to me right now...I’m so ready to get out of here."
He scooped you up in his arms and rested his forehead against yours. "you and me both...sweetheart."
You threw your head back, letting our a groan as Joe chuckled in amusement. Oh how his drunken state absolutely loved seeing the effect he has on you.
"Awe, don't do that yet,” he whispered in your ear, “save some for the bedroom."
You bit your lip and jumped out of his arms. You ran over to the front door, quickly opening it. You and Joe quickly got out of the house and made your way down the steps. As you left, you could hear the booming vibration of the loud music from outside the Taylor’s house. Grabbing your hand, Joe quickly led You to his benz. He opened the passenger door for you.
"After you,m'lady." He said, gesturing for you to get in.
You curtsied, "Thank you, sir."
Oh you both were so drunk…
You quickly sat down on the seat, immediately feeling wetness beneath you. You jumped slightly at the feeling between your thighs as Joe got in his seat and buckled his seatbelt. After pulling out of Zac’s driveway, Joe rested his hand on your upper thigh, trailing a finger up your thigh and under your dress, starting to tease you.
You let out a moan, already looking forward to the events that would be coming so soon.
Joe glanced at you, "Just you wait, in five minutes, i'll be doing a lot more than that."
~time skip~
"Jump." Joe said huskily as soon as the two of you walked in through his front door. You did as he said, jumping up so you were straddling his hips. His hands roamed your back as the two of you made out, passionately. Every once in a while you’d pull away, both of you leaving a trail of hickeys down one another's neck.
You moaned as he kissed that sweet spot on your neck. Joe gently put you down on the ground for a second, before picking you up bridal style. He walked up the flight of stairs so you could continue in the bedroom. As he carried you into the bedroom, a few articles of clothing had already made their way off of the two of you. His blazer was one, while your panties, well those made their way off your body a long time ago. Joe pushed you into the doorway, your bodies moving in sync as you made your way to his bed. The two of you hastily undressed eachother, urgency evident in your touches as there was no time for foreplay. You were both so impatient to get the fun started. You ripped Joes dress shirt off his broad, but lanky build. Your eyes trailed down his body, taking in his firm chest and muscular biceps with veins traveling down each arm. Joe wasn’t exactly ripped, but his abdomen was toned and his hips were a wonderful sight, just like those bulging thighs. Joe was absolutely perfect in your eyes.
As you took in his appearance, he began to slowly unzip your dress. Teasing you as he grazed his long fingers along the skin of your bare back. You hung your head, trying to suppress a moan from escaping from your pursed lips. Joe pulled the dress down your body, leaving you in just a strapless, red-laced bralette—which Joe had unclipped in the process of taking your dress off. Realizing that you didn't have any undergarments on anymore, your hands instinctively wrapped around your body. Joe’s expression softened as he saw you try to cover yourself from him.
"Oh Y/n,” he smiled softly, “there no need to hide from me, sweetheart. You are perfect." he cooed, pushing you gently down onto the bed and hovering his larger frame over you. You blushed, feeling so vulnerable, yet so good at the same time. Joe had a way with his words. He could be so sweet and humble one minute, but so dirty and dripping with confidence the next. What a man…
Joe gently moved your arms away from your body, taking in your figure beneath him. He sucked in a breath before he began to leave a trail of kisses down your body. Every time his soft lips came into contact with your smooth skin, it sent a wave of shivers down your entire body. As he kissed about every inch of your body, you scratched at his back, moaning with pleasure anytime he hit that sweet spot.
"Mmm..." You breathed out. Joe’s head made its way down to your area. He started to kiss your inner thigh, making sure he teased you just enough before coming up and to kiss your lips instead. His tongue begged for entrance and fought for dominance against yours. Of course, he ultimately "won" that fight. Joe pulled his pants down in one swift motion, leaving him in just his underwear. A very evident bulge had formed. You filled nervously as this all became clear to you. You are about to hook up with your brothers best friend. You’re OK Y/n. You can do this. You can do him. Just breathe. It’s not like this means anything to either of you. You’re both super drunk that you don’t even realize what you’re doing…you mentally remind yourself. There was no talking yourself out of this one, especially with the current state you’re in. It’s clear that you and Joe both want this.
Joe pulled his underwear down and threw it to the floor beside him, leaving him in nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. Your breath hitched as you eyed his cock, eyes growing darker with lust. They don’t call him “Big Dick Joe” for nothing…
Joe got back on the bed, hovering over you as he got ready to thrust himself into you.
"are you ready?" he asked, making sure you were comfortable. Even though Joe spoke in a soft tone, you could tell from his lustful eyes that he was more than ready to take you right there on his bed.
“Yes,” you nodded, “Please Joe, I need you inside of me.."you whined, barely able to keep your words from coming out in a moan. Joe smirked and grabbed your hand, lacing his fingers with yours as he pushed you up against the headboard of his bed. He lined himself up with your entrance, thrusting into you repeatedly. He buried his face in your neck as you threw your head back, whimpering from the pleasure you were feeling from Joe’s rough movements. The sounds of Joe’s grunts and your whimpers filled the room, along with the sound of skin hitting skin.
“You feel so good,” Joe grunted, “Gonna make you cum so hard you won’t be able to walk.” He all but groaned out as his thrusts picked up in pace, causing your eyes rolled to the back of your head in pleasure. You threw your head back as complete bliss took over you. You arched your back and moaned like there was no tomorrow as the two of you reached your climax at the same time.
There’s no going back now…
