A blind date she went on, where he talked about himself the entire time, flirted with the waitress, and then his credit card was declined so she had to pay for the meal (she was never willing to let Paddy set her up on another date again after that)

Her body image. she knows Sam has been with more people than she has, and she worries that she doesn't compare to all the adventurers he knows. She's a little soft around the edges, has some extra meat on her, and she doesn't always feel as attractive as she is.

Her words. Sia isn't a fighter or adventurer, her place is by a stack of books. But she's sassy as hell and will tell you off if she's getting annoyed.

Like at least Sara Ryder has more romances with women than FemShep does because EA and BioWare cut them from the trilogy.
Like in ME2? The only lesbian romance is Kelly and ME3 doesn't recognise it.
yeah....the choices for femshep or even mshep if you want a gay romance are just so limited without mods and also like? not as developed as the other romances. like Sam and Steve and Kelly aren't squadmates, Steve I think gets more a smidge more content but for Sam when I did the romance I was struck by just how little of it there was and Kelly is even less if I've heard right, I never did that one.
I also do love andromeda for even more options there, thank god it does and it's bad they cut the bi Ja'al romance but at least they were listening to fans this time and added it back in...
that's the other thing I liked about andromeda, it felt bioware was listening more and fixing things unlike in the original trilogy...

these are my aspec headcanons for team free will because I’ve had these for Years at this point and haven’t shared them yet lol
dean: aro and bi! i love the idea of aromantic dean and i love how he’s always driven by platonic relationships. i don’t think he’s ever been in love, and when he thought he was (lisa) he was just going through the motions in the name of a family he thought he was supposed to want (very mary-coded of him). personally i don’t get ace vibes from him, but that would be neat too :)
sam: demiromantic and demisexual! he contains multitudes. aaand i can’t help but notice that every canon relationship he’s had came from a place of emotional connection first- jess, obviously, but even his one ep love interests like sarah and madison. i think sam really enjoys connection and intimacy, but doesn’t necessarily prioritize sex and romance. occasionally he’s into it, but mostly he just likes to spend time with a partner that he trusts and cares about. if sexual/romantic attraction comes later, cool! if it doesn’t, also cool!
cas: sex averse ace / grayromantic. sex averse because I love projecting onto him and he’s shown to be uncomfortable with the idea of engaging in sexual acts himself (5x03) but is okay with it in the abstract/when he’s not an involved party (...the pizza man moment). i think romance for him is far from being a priority, but sometimes it hits him and he’s like Oh. this feeling is not friendship! (see: meg). most of the time though it’s really not on his mind, and does confuse him a little bit because society puts so much emphasis on romantic stuff and cas thinks about it maybe once a month. the concept of valentine’s day took a while for him to wrap his head around, but now tfw has a blast with it and eats a bunch of chocolate while watching romance free movies.

AU Destiel oneshot
Castiel groans into his pillow. Who the hell calls him in the middle of the night? If this isn't a real emergency, then…
He squints at the screen when he finally gets hold of his phone with clumsy fingers and picks up swiftly when he sees who it is.
Dean. His best friend since college. Castiel was his best man at his impromptu wedding. Dean is the love of his life. But Dean doesn't know. Can't know. And that's fine. There is no place Castiel would rather be than at Dean's side. It's enough for him to see his best friend happy, thriving.
It hurts, too. The aching of longing. The pining that catches him in the most unexpected moments. Dean is beautiful inside out, and Castiel tries not to dream, tries to build a life beyond his best friend. And he does. He has other friends, people who are like family to him, even though they don't share blood. Like Dean's brother Sam, or the neighbours' kids Jack and Claire for whom he is kind of a surrogate father. He has Kelly and Charlie, Rowena and Hannah. He knows he's blessed.
But all of them are circling around the Winchester brothers in one way or another, and it always comes back to Dean, who makes him smile until his face hurts, his heart racing until it threatens to beat out of his chest, and a million knots tying his stomach tightly when he sees Dean kiss his wife Lisa, who is lovely, and beautiful, and everything Dean wants in his life. So Castiel loves her, too. Because she makes Dean happy in a way their friendship can't.
"Hi, Dean. Everything okay?"
"You son of a bitch," Dean slurs over the phone, clearly intoxicated.
Castiel blinks into the near-darkness of his bedroom, the clock radio showing 3.23.
"Dean, what's going on?" he asks, running a hand over his eyes.
"You destroyed my marriage."
Four words and so much to unpack. First—since when is Dean's marriage not peach-perfect? Second—what the hell did he do? Third...
"You son of a bitch, why do you have to be so fucking beautiful? With those eyes and those hands and those lips? You don't even get half of my jokes. Why do I have to be in love with you? Fuck!"
Castiel is struck speechless. Where is all of this coming from, all of a sudden? Dean likes his looks? He always makes fun of his ill-fitting suits and his trenchcoat. And then, the second part...
"I fucking love you, man, and Lis knows. She's known for months and now she's gone. Taken Ben, and left me the house. She doesn't want anything. A whole year, and she leaves because I can't stop loving you."
Castiel doesn't know what to say. His heart doesn't know if it is supposed to grow because the man who holds it returns his feelings, or if it is supposed to break into little pieces because Dean is so clearly sad that he failed at being a husband and father, living the apple pie life. But maybe Dean is just out of it in grief and the booze mixes up the different feelings that Dean holds for him and Lisa. Yes. It's probably just that. No reason to raise his hopes over the ruins of his friend's marriage.
Castiel's heart clenches painfully in his chest with a wave of longing and sorrow that no human being should ever endure.
"So, you've got nothing to say, huh?"
Castiel moves his lips. It's hard to form words. But he has to. For Dean.
"Dean, you should drink a huge glass of water and go to sleep. I'll bring you a hangover breakfast and we'll talk. Okay?"
"Always so mature," Dean mutters. "I'm pouring my heart out. But I know. You could never love me back. I'm a mess."
Castiel swallows hard. "You're not a mess, Dean. You are strong and caring…"
"...and a good friend. Yada yada. I don't want to be strong, Cass. Or a friend."
"Dean, you're drunk."
"Still in love with you, buddy."
Castiel breathes a sigh. It's too late for such a conversation. Or too early. "Listen, Dean, hang up, and tell me this when you're sober, okay? You're wasted and probably won't remember a word come tomorrow."
Dean lets out an ugly laugh. "You hope. Sorry to bother you."
"You could never be a bother." Dean doesn't hear the reply. He's hung up for real, leaving Castiel looking at the barely illuminated ceiling until dawn dips his bedroom into light.

"Hey, Cass," Dean says in a gravelly voice, squinting against the sunlight. Castiel raises the bag with the breakfast. He doesn't dare say a word, worried about stumbling over each syllable and making a fool of himself.
Platonic love. That's what Dean was clearly talking about. Maybe Lisa was fed up with their closeness, with the single friend joining their family dinners too often, the way Castiel stared at her husband a bit too long and always way too intense.
Castiel spreads the food on Dean's dinner table, taking in the missing photographs on the wall and the half-empty DVD and CD shelves. His heart aches. Dean must feel empty, too. He loved Lisa, Castiel knows that. And Ben, her son.
They sit down and eat in silence. It's thick and heavy and Castiel can't remember a single time that it has been like this before. So many unspoken words, so many unasked questions. But what is he supposed to do? Supposed to say?
He pushes a package of painkillers over the table instead and watches how Dean's Adam's apple bobs when he swallows them down. He shouldn't look at Dean like this.
You destroyed my marriage.
It was probably things like this. But why did Lisa move out? Why didn't she simply demand that they give up their friendship?
"Because she wants me to be happy," Dean says, and with horror, Castiel realises that he has spoken the question out loud. Dean huffs a laugh. "I'm sorry, man. I never planned to say a word. Our friendship is too important to me."
"I didn't know you were gay," Castiel blurts out when understanding hits him like a baseball bat.
"I'm bi. Never talked about it. Most straight men freak out if they know."
Castiel takes a sip of his coffee. "And you thought I would, too?"
Dean shrugs his shoulders. "With your religious upbringing and all the no-sex-before-marriage stuff, I took a wild guess. It wasn't worth risking our friendship."
"I get what you mean. That's why I never told you I'm gay."
Dean's mouth falls open and he blinks at Castiel several times before he collects himself. "Okay."
Castiel smiles shyly. "So. You want to repeat what you said last night or…?"
Dean fidgets with the paper napkin before he runs it over his mouth. Castiel finds his nervousness endearing. He has seen Dean flirt easily with women everywhere, but here he is, cheeks burning crimson, unable to meet his eyes.
Castiel waits patiently but no less nervous than the man opposite him.
"I—" Dean trails off and Castiel's heart sinks. It had been the alcohol. He had meant it platonically. Fuck!
"It's okay," Castiel says. "I understand."
"No, you don't! Just gimme a moment."
Castiel nods and folds his hands in his lap. It's always better to let Dean work through his thoughts, to wait him out.
Dean looks up, eyes soft and unsure, vulnerable as Castiel has never seen them before. "I love you, Cass."
Now, Castiel's heart is bursting for sure, but he keeps the shell pulled tight. "Like a friend?"
Dean shakes his head. "The way I should've loved Lisa, but couldn't, because…" He gestures in Castiel's direction.
Castiel's lips curl up into a soft smile. "I love you too, Dean. Have for a very long time."
Dean sighs, the relief rushing out of his lungs. He nods and mirrors the dopey smile on Castiel's face. "Awesome."
Castiel grins. "Yes, indeed."

A Supernaturally Marvelous Fic Challenge
Calling all Supernatural and Marvel fanfic writers!
I don’t know about y’all, but writer’s block and lack of motivation have hit me harder than ever this year. It’s no secret that 2020 has been a giant crap show for a lot of people, but our precious fics and fandoms can be such a great escape from it all. In an attempt to spread some inspiration and feel good vibes, I wanted to make my follower celebration something that might help both writers and readers.
Below you’ll find all sorts of prompts (dialogue, songs, AUs, etc.) because you never know what might inspire you. Since we’ve all had a tough year, there’s a catch! You’ve got to give it a happy ending.
Make it fun. Make it sassy. Make it steamy. But for the love of ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY please wrap it up nicely with good things and a “fluffy” bow. Cool? Cool.

It was a love story from the very beginning.
Destiel Fight Intensifies

Hi there! And we finally reach season 14 ending!
Just one more season and we will be finishing this project.
Remember this meta is a summary of my analysis from season 14.

The Promise that broke Destiel
Episode 19 was full of drama after Mary's death.
Dean avoiding talking with Sam and Castiel, but crying alone in the woods.
But what I want to point here the cause of Castiel and Dean's quarrel: Jack (the promise to Kelly).
Castiel's mission is his promise to Kelly, so from the beginning, he marks the limit. He won't hurt Jack. He will help him and guide him.
Before continue with this topic, let's talk about visual narrative related to the Destiel break up. Pay attention to how Dean and Castiel are placed in the following frames...

Another frame that shows Dean and Castiel in different pages is this one:
Yes... At the same time. Avoidance. Negation. No hands here. Not now. One in front, the other looking backwards.
In the other hand, Sam and Castiel are in the same perspective related to Jack and how they need to save him and not to kill him.
Coming back to the fact that Castiel puts Jack before Dean, it's because there was a change of priorities since Jack showed Castiel the future, since Castiel became a dad.
Jack is like the newborn baby coming up to a young couple. Suddenly, the father felt a little left over, and jealous. It's the same situation here.
14x19: Dean and Sam locked Jack on the Mal'ak box. Second big fight between Dean and Castiel for that.
Destiel Fight Intensifies
14x20: Dean and Cas fought twice bc of Jack... And interesting clues about what was going on in Dean's head right now... we have this...

Then Castiel pushed Dean with his shoulder, in an obvious way to show him how mad he is. He even squeezes his teeth. And then Dean stays there not turning around... That hurts for him... Castiel still being loyal to Jack after what he did. It hurts seeing Castiel pushing him that way and not being with him this time in this battle. Castiel choose Jack and that hurts to Dean.
The camera focused on Sam, showing us his suffering about the situation.
And then we will have Dean depressed, drinking in a dark room, after this fight.
Mirror Universe
There was a lot of visual elements and mirrors in Mirror Universe. One of the most significant that showed us the fact that Castiel puts Jack (the promise) before Dean was the following:

The man in blue (Castiel mirror) confessing his secret love to that wan in red (Dean) but his name is Jack... And Dean face here is... Yeah... Jack. Ok. You said you love me but now is only Jack for you. And he turn off the TV, one: bc it was a love confession and he isn't ready yet for that. And two, bc it reminds him Castiel's love confession when Jack wasn't there... And now things are different.

Another scene in which this quarrel intensifies is when Dean gives Castiel the chance to choose (and Castiel picks Jack again).
CAS: There has to be another way.
DEAN: Well, there's not. Now, I know you don't like it, and I don't really care. 'Cause you just heard it from God Himself that this (picking up the gun) is the only thing that can kill Jack, so either get on board, or walk away.
(Cas leaves the room)
There's a pause Dean made before saying OR WALK AWAY. He didn't want to say that. He is the first that wants him there. By his side. He is the first that suffers each time Castiel disappear of the bunker. Not... He doesn't want to say those words... But he pushed Cas to make a decision again between him and Jack. And he loses again.
To Conclude:
Episode 14x19 but mostly, 14x20 showed us the Destiel break up that was foreshadowed the whole season.
Castiel's priorities changing are evident at the end of season 14, with a dramatic ending with Jack's death.
This break up will be elaborated more in the last season.

7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?
Okay when I started on spnblr I was but a lowly little man getting my opinion from like 3 deanfans and 1 casfan on the dash and I thought straight ally Sam was the funniest thing in the world and then I learned like two things about Sam and am ready to block anyone I don't know that well who insists on cishetallo sam truthing bc like. that girlboy is not any of those things
13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character?
Not sure which character you mean, so I'll do one per TFW 2.0!
Sam- I don't want him to be the next Bobby! If he's doing anything hunting-related, I'd hope he's involved in the abolishment of hunting, cryptid rehab, and the institution of cryptid rights. Also like the idea of him foster-parenting some cryptid kids or just going back to school and getting a dog.
Dean- Is "I would desperately like to see a scene where Cas kills him to protect Jack but does eventually bring him back but maybe he's already part-demon by now" considered an opinion.
Cas- I think my bi Cas profile picture is already an unpopular opinion, but also, I think he had plans for a life post-Winchesters with Jack where he'd help more humans and make amends with his siblings and I think he's certainly done free will and love in the years before the series began.
Jack- They Are Not A Baby. I love thinking about them blaming Dean and also Cas for Cas's death and also feeling irrationally jealous that they weren't Cas's one true happiness. Also I think their ranking of their parents from most to least favorite are 1. Kelly 2. Cas 3. Sam 4. Dean 5. Lucifer

Kumail Nanjiani and his wife Emily Gordon’s theatrical debut made big waves when it came out for the singularity of its vision and just how plain funny it is. Now Amazon gets to reap the benefits of producing a bonafide romantic indie hit by getting its exclusive streaming rights. The Big Sick is the real life story of comedian Kumail Nanjiani meeting and falling in love with his wife, Emily (who is played by Zoe Kazan in the film).
Kumail and Emily’s courtship process is difficult enough to begin with due to Kumail’s family pressuring him to find a nice Pakistani girl to settle down with. But soon things get even more difficult as Emily suffers a health scare and Kumail must suddenly contend with that situation and Emily’s eccentric parents who have just come to town. The Big Sick is a clear vision from talented people and tells a beautifully convincing love story while making plenty of room for laughter. Not only that but it’s a big win for our list of best romance movies on Amazon Prime.

What If
Canadian drama What If (originally known as The F Word before the MPAA got its greasy fingers all over it) is a fun romantic movie and a tremendous showcase for its two young stars Daniel Radcliffe (you know what he’s from) and Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick). Radcliffe stars as Wallace – a directionless young man living in Toronto who decides to become more social after his girlfriend cheats on him.
Enter Kylo Ren (Adam Driver playing a character who is unfortunately not named Kylo Ren) who takes Wallace to a party where he meets the alluring Chantry (Kazan). Wallace and Chantry immediately fall for each other. Unfortunately there’s the small matter of Chantry’s boyfriend. What If? is a sweet little Canadian flick that knows how to push its audiences romantic buttons.

Still Mine
Still Mine isn’t necessarily about romance. It’s about love – a deep prevailing love built up over decades. Craig Morrison (James Cromwell) is a farmer in rural New Brunswick, Canada. He intends to build a new house for his ailing wife Irene (Geneviève Bujold) but runs into trouble with the local municipality’s bureaucracy prevents him from doing so.
Still Mine is as romantic a movie about bureacratic development regulations as has ever existed. Cromwell and Bujold have wonderful chemistry and paint a portrait of profound, abiding love.

Sabrina (1995)
Let’s get one thing out of the way right now. Sabrina‘s theatrical poster is dope. When I was a kid and I would pass the VHS cover in Blockbuster, I couldn’t help but think “Wow, that is a real adult movie.” At a young age, the mere sight of a woman’s lascivious red lipstick (lascivious in my head at least) was enough to fry my brain. Poster aside, however, Sabrina is an excellent romance with some real star power. It’s a remake of the 1954 film of the same name starring Billy Wilder and Audrey Hepburn.
This version was directed by the great Sydney Pollack and stars Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, and Julia Ormond. Weirdly enough Greg Kinnear plays the ultimate rich playboy while Harrison Ford plays his studious older brother. Weird casting choices but it works out alright thanks to each actor’s chemistry with Ormond.

Ghost
Ghost is much more than just the reason you can no longer attend a pottery class without giggling. It’s a legitimately great sci-fi romance yarn. Patrick Swayze stars as Sam a banker who is killed by a mugger. Immediately post-death he discovers that he has become a ghost and can no longer directly interact with his girlfriend Molly (Demi Moore).
Sam sets out to solve his own murder and somehow reconnect with the woman he loves. Ghostcomes along with all the corniness of an early ’90s blockbuster but its central theme of love trying to achieve the impossible plays in any decade.

Longing is a crucial part of the formula in any romance movie and Brokeback Mountain has it in spades. Ang Lee’s 2005 film played a crucial role in bringing queer cinema to the mainstream and it did so by presenting mostly straight audiences with a universal depiction of love and passion – the kind of love that supersedes the norms and expectations of everything in your life to that point.
Heath Ledger and Jake Gylllenhaal star as 1960s Wyoming cowboys Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist. Ben Stiller, Matt Dillon, Lee Evans, and Chris Elliott all play men who are helplessly in love with Mary and trying to win her affection. In the process, many injuries as sustained.

This 2001 film is set in 1900s Paris amid the Bohemian movement. As one might imagine, this is resolved with quite a bit of singing and dancing.

How I feel about this character
Alex is my second favorite character in the show. I love her. She came out as a lesbian the same year I came out as bi and trans to my family, so seeing her journey there had a deep emotional resonance for me, and I love that she’s broken but still functional, still capable of loving and being loved in return.

Kara, Maggie, Kelly, Nia, and Sara
My non-romantic OTP for this character
J’onn. He’s a better father to her than Jeremiah ever was.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I think she’s better off with Kelly than she was with Maggie. I think Dansen is a healthier and happier relationship.

Therapy. Seriously, I want Kelly to drag Alex to a therapists office.
Kelly
How I feel about this character
I love Kelly. I love how kind and gentle and caring she is. I love that she’s a little broken, but she finds strength in helping other people.

James. I really liked their sibling dynamic, and it actually made me sad when Mechad left the show.

How I feel about this character
I know it will surprise a lot of people, but I don’t actually hate Lena. I just hate the way she treats Kara. I think she’s a deeply flawed person, and I hate the way fandom acts like her shit don’t stink. I think Lena is a fucked up victim of abuse, who uses that as an excuse to treat those around her terribly, and avoid any culpability for her actions. I think Lena would be an amazing character if the narrative would actually treat her like the shady motherfucker she is, and fandom would acknowledge that Lena brings a lot of the bad shit that happens to her onto herself by being a shady ass bitch.

Destiel Chronicles
Vol. XCIII
It was a love story from the very beginning.
And you are not here... (Part I)
(13x01)
Hello beautiful people! We reached season 13!!! This was a very analyzed season, so, many of the things I will say won't be new. There wasn't much Destiel in the second half of the season, so, I hope we can have less volumes than season 12.
But, let's focus now in the angst, and when I speak about angst, I mean Mourning! Dean.
Priorities?
At the beginning of the episode we have Dean, down his knees by Castiel's dead body, he can't believe he just lost him, so, he is not thinking here, he can't thing in another fact more than Cas.
Sam feels he has not time for crying for his best friend, because he has to focus in saving the world: Lucifer's son had just born.
I always like to point the difference here: Why Sam can focus on the Mission right away and Dean can't? Is because the amount of the emotions and the meaning of this lost.
Don't forget they lost Mary too, but this is different.
Because Sam lost his mother, but because she didn't died, he keeps hopes in bringing her back. Because Jack is there, and he was the one opening the rift. He lost Cas, he saw him die, his best friend, but even so, he keeps going, he runs towards that cabin to find the Nephilim. Because just like Cas, even with the loses, he has to keep fighting, to try to save the world, Cas would do the same.
But for Dean Cas represents his Everything, his faith, his hopes, the love of his life. So the world just stopped there. And he can't think in anything else but the deep pain of loosing the man he loves.
Then the scene in the car is heartbreaking.
SAM: Hold on a second. Can we just talk about what happened back there?
DEAN: Sure. Which part? Let’s see. Crowley’s dead, Kelly’s dead, Cas is—(he pauses) Mom’s gone, and apparently, the Devil’s kid hit puberty in thirty seconds flat. Oh, and almost killed us.
This is Dean not wanting to say Cas is dead, this is Dean not being able to say Cas is dead. His worst nightmare became true.
SAM: Yeah, because you tried to shoot him.
DEAN: I tried to shoot the monster, Sam. It’s kind of what we do.
SAM: We don’t know what he is yet, Dean. And I had it under control.
DEAN: I’m sorry. Are you defending the Son of Satan?
SAM: I’m not defending anything. I’m just saying, look, with everything that’s happened, I’m obviously spun out also, but we need a plan.
DEAN: Yeah, kill him! Okay? That’s the plan. Look, right now all that matters is finding him, and ending him, before he hurts anybody else. And once we do that we’ll figure everything else out.
Again pointing at the difference between the two brothers. Sam is thinking strategically, but Dean wants to kill him, because he blames Jack of Castiel's death. Jack is a monster that deceived, used and killed Cas. So there's no doubt for Dean JACK IS A MONSTER AND HE MUST BE ELIMINATED. For Sam, Jack represents the hopes to get his mother back.
SAM: What about Cas? Is he - is he really dead?
DEAN: You know he is.
And this is terrible, Because Dean is answering this to himself. 'You know he is.' Is the fact he has to assume. But he is avoiding to do it.
"Angels are real too."
So sad when the angels find Castiel on the table. The contemptible way one of them referred to Cas breaks my heart, because is so fresh now his dead in 15x18.
1ST ANGEL: Castiel. Always knew he’d meet a bad end.
2ND ANGEL: He deserved better.
1ST ANGEL: No, he really didn’t.
This is so accurate now, is like hearing Misha wanting his big sacrifice for love as Castiel, and all the fandom repeating HE DERÑSERVED BETTER, trying to show the point, and the C*W and broniles saying NO, HE REALLY DIDN'T. But well... Just a bitter thought... For this angel, particularly, is referring to Castiel's choices, his repeatedly chosing Dean Winchester over Heaven.
When they arrive to the Burger Shop, Dean decides to stay in the car and wait for Sam.
The drunken girl, which results to be an angel, comes out from the same shop, and the camera shows us Dean's bruises in his knuckles. So, we can infer something happened...
The dialogue between the angel and Dean is very interesting, because she create a whole scenario and character:
DRUNK WOMAN: Anyway, Becky was - and I say this in the most feminist, screw the patriarchy way - a giant superbitch. She’d take things, and break things, and piss people off, and just do whatever she wanted, no matter who it hurt.
She will say after revealing who she really is, that Dean was Becky. And the way she speaks about this character is with the same contempt as the angel talking about Castiel. Because Dean is guilty of Castiel's fall and disobedience. He is the human that broke Castiel, and that's why Cas ended up dying.
Once in the police station, Dean tells all the truth to the sheriff, and when he speaks about angels... His face turns even more sad.

Look how he drops his eyes and turns his face to the window. This is pure grief, pain, sadness. Because it was almost as if he was mentioning Castiel again. And it hurts too much.
We were witnesses of Dean's prayer to Chuck, mentioning he wanted Castiel back, pleading not just for him, but Mary and even Crowley. Desperate prelaying. And when he turned around, with this little hopes in being heated, and maybe finding everyone there, CAS, and then realizing they weren't, he exploded in anger, breaking the pirate on the door, and hurting his knuckles.
Still trying to make Cas to come back to him...
Goodbye Cas
When Dean was fighting against the drunken woman, now an angel, the dialogue between them is showing us again how Dean was still expecting to find a way to make Castiel come back to him.

Dean's grief all over his face while the little hope that had found it's way is slowly fading again, listening to these words. These words that Miriam says with pleasure.
This scene is showing us how Dean was only thinking about CAS, in how to bring him back, with desperation, he was longing for him so hard, even the angel perceived that emotion.
The other super sad scene was Dean preparing Cas' body for the funeral...

When he comes back to the cabin, he faces again the reality. Dean is down that sheet, dead. He stops just for a second, and swallows. Encouraging himself to keep walking towards him. Before doing that, he flicks his eyes away from the corpse.
Then he goes to his side, and sighs, and then breaths... The pain is all over him.
This is Dean realizing again Cas is gone. Look at the deep sadness in his face, while he is staring at him, maybe he is talking with him, asking Cas to come back to him. Then, he is swallowing again, hard, he looks away, because Castiel won't come back, Castiel is definitely dead, as the angel said. No one will bring him back, nobody is gonna help him to bring Cash back. The despair is huge. Yes he has to aknowledge that in his heart.
Okay I read somewhere that maybe Dean was praying here to Cas to come back again, then he sees Cas is still dead. But I really believe, Dean didn't stop praying to him, or to Chuck, because that was the only things he could do. What else? So maybe he was praying the whole time, putting his hopes in those so many times Chuck relived him, or Cas camber back to him. Trying to reach Cas somehow. But with each desperate prayer he was convincing himself Cas wouldn't come back, and this time he was dead, really dead. For ever. That's the pain in his heart. He was trying to wake him up, he was pleading for one last miracle, and not to burn his body in the pyre. So this was his last attempt to bring him back.

"You say goodbye" Sammy's voice sound in the background and we see Dean's sad face. The pain and the grief. So different from Sam and Jack. And so different from another times when he had to burn his father, or friends. Nothing is gonna be norm from now. Because he lost Cas, the love of his life.
Visual Narrative: Just a little mention of Pirate Pete's Burger Shop. The place was in blue and red, (Cas and Dean), with references about the ship (Destiel), and jokes about the butt, and, according the Urban Dictionary, the Pirate Pete is a sexual joke too. So, we can maybe infer, base in how angels were mocking Dean and CAS relationship and how it ended in this episode, that place was related to it.
To Conclude:
This was just the beginning of Mourning!Dean, we will see him depressed and with no faith, no hopes. Ig gonna be alarming for Sam, and we will have one huge revelation in the episode in wich Billie will talk with Dean about his grief.
