TOP 10 THEATER FANDOMS ON AO3 BASED ON NUMBER OF FANWORKS (2009-2022)

To make these bar chart race, all series titles in the Theater Category on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.

Locked fanworks aren't included in the count because Wayback Machine can’t view those, only Ao3 users can.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians - Rick Riordan was in the Theater category in November 29, 2022, but has been removed by the time this post is published, so I'm leaving it out of the chart.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon may be in the top 10, but only 1% of its fanworks come from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Musicals).

Fandom tags that are no longer in the Theater category tag as of posting this are left out of the bar chart race. These tags are usually either miscategorized or already have other tags referring to the same fandom.

For tags that existed on the same years before eventually merging into one tag later on (such as Romeo And Juliet - All Media Types which later on merged with Romeo And Juliet - Shakespeare, and Hamlet - All Media Types which later on merged with Hamlet - Shakespeare), I use the data of whichever tag has the highest number for that year.

Update on the sailor keito fanfic idea

It's coming along really well and im QUITE happy with it and i've got chapter one done. I haven't posed it yet but while i wait for my friend who likes enstars and got me into this mess (affectionate) im going to be frantically catching up on the enstars anime because ive of course also gotten latched onto a TERRIBLE idea this being of course dear gosh (how could i resist) another freaking character gets tramsigrated fic because this is my favorite genre and i cant help it. i think this time? a drama kid who tragically, has terrible stage fright. the problem?

State of the Fics

Here's a list and progress on the fanfic projects (affectionally called 'tadpoles' because they're all brain worms inflicted on me) I have going. As of 2/11/24:

Wet Behind the (Long) Ears: What if Ranma was knocked into the 'Spring of Drowned *Elf* Girl'?

-Status: Chapters 1-5 posted. The rest of the first arc is rough drafted, aprox. 35-40k words.

Chapter 6 is getting expanded and possibly split into 2 chapters! Had an idea and did some research, it pans out. Currently at 4k words.

The Stone Will Sing: Thematic companion to WB(L)E. Maybe Ranma's so short as a girl is because it was a young dwarf girl who drowned in Nyannichuan. Or perhaps the Khazad didn't die out, but vanished as a distinct race. Worldbuilding crossover with LoTR.

-Status: Outlining the story to start drafting. If this fic doesn't piss off some Tolkien scholars, I didn't do my job right.

Twice the Curse? Double the Fun!: Ranma discovers that P-chan is actually his old frenemy Ryoga. But somehow the Lost Boy managed to get himself *two* Jusenkyo curses. ...or, did he? One-shot for muffinmoonn.

-Status: Drafting, using as a nice palate cleanser when I get stressed with other writing.

Once We Were Warriors: OC Relarial is isekai'd into a 1996 Tokyo shared by Ranma 1/2 and Sailor Moon. This was prompted by a convo w/ a friend about our OCs as Senshi.

-Status: Book 1 posted on A03. Book 2 rough drafted, book 3 outlining.

Fission, Scraps from the Cutting Room Floor

So I just had a clever idea that I had to, unfortunately, scrap, and that was to have Ukyo be Makoto's old senpai, the one she compares every other boy she meets to. Alas, it was not meant to be...at least for this fic. The timeline doesn't work; Makoto is in her final year of high school while Ukyo is in her junior year, which would make Ukyo Makoto's kohai.

Ah well, perhaps the next fukufic...which will be a while considering I've got 8 sequels already sketched with a couple of outlines for Fission.

I also like Magical girls a lot!! Whenever i see Sailor Moon or a fandom that hasn’t been active in a long time i get really excited :)

Precure is currently my favorite Magical girls anime I’m in, I’ve watched Yes 5 and Gogo and my favorite was instantly Karen Minuzaki aka Cure Aqua. I don’t know how but she’s just so epic!! I’m excited for the adult show coming soon!!

I also finally watched Across The Spider-verse and oh my god i loved it!! I’ve actually watched it twice!! Pav is just the greatest little guy, Hobie has such a really interesting design, I feel like Peni needed more screen time during the movie, Lyla is such a queen!! I cant wait to see them in the next movie!!

I’m going to say this now, Noise cancelling headphones are a gift and we have to protect them at all cost!! If you need a new pair get yourself some Noise cancelling headphones If you can. I don’t care about the price if it gets me to focus in class and not throw a desk at someone for chewing gum then it’s worth it!!
