Shuichi Saihara x reader (he overworked again!)

cw : no proofread again as I immediately went back to study after writing this I'm sorry, platonic romantic kinda idk, probably bad English but it's my second or third language but uh oh.

this guy is canonically a people pleaser, sacrificing his time and sweat to make people happy (Danganronpa S, Ultimate Detectives interaction) (if I'm not wrong idk)

he would mostly spend his time working on his detective jobs, helping people on their missing nothings and give his detective intuited inputs for people who need his aid.

but this time, he worked himself a bit too hardly.

he woke up at 4 am, collecting materials for the crime case that he was given to. the case was harder than his usual and it took him hours of analytical thinking and he constantly made coffees to stay awake.

night before, he slept super late preparing documents for the same exact case too.

he undoubtedly has grown tired of seeing the same words and being not able to figure out things out of them, but as a committed detective, he considered it as part of his job and he took it very seriously.

he's the type that put others before himself, and in this case, he ignored his health and wellness to put an end to the case.

he neglected his well-being. like instead of eating actual meals, he stored a lot of noodle cups at his place as he doesn't want to waste his time making and eating a meal (what a Kanade Yoisaki from the hit game Project Sekai Colorful Stage ft Hatsune Miku move). not to mention he also do his job in his usual leisure time so he practically doesn't have time focused to himself.

and of course, as the good best friend you are, you constantly check on him and brought him foods when you have the time because years of friendship with this guy made you discover one thing about himself. a hardcore people pleaser. his inferiority complex doesn't help too.

but today, he's working outside so you two will be separated until the end of the day.

it was your usual evening, and you were strolling around (a place idk free imagination section), killing time and such. you were talking to Maki via call (see her as your close friend, please)

"Maki, I have an idea. let's go shopping at the town this weekend! I'm sure it will be super fun!"

"I got nothing to buy so I see no reason to. go ask for someone else, Saihara, for instance."

"but he's buzy! I can barely see him nowadays unless I go to check on him and serve him food!" you whines

"I'm sure he would ditch his work to go with you, (name)."

"Wwwhat are you talking about?? he's very determined into solving all his cases so that won't happening! don't talk nonsense, Maki!"

(Maki carved a little smirk without you knowing)

"right, but he will still go with you. that's the kind of guy he is, anyway."

"I don't want to tire him after all his detective wor- AAAH!"

you screamed into the phone right to Makis ear, resulting her pulling away from her phone and covered her ear with one hand.

"what the.. don't scream like that! what's wrong??"

"IT'S, IT'S SAIHARA! he's laying at the floor now! ah I'll hang the call now Maki!"

turns out, you found the said person laying unconsciously at the front door.

his face was kissing the ground, body completely facing the floor.

you took a breather and took a necessary move by calling out his name multiple times and shaked him a bit. but he remained not responsive.

you wanted to freak out so bad but you thought it wouldn't be wise to do that, so you started taking him by the shoulder and dragged him to his room.

his body weight made it harder for you to step forward but you weren't discouraged,

so you carried him bridal style to fasten the process instead.

after some time, the guy slowly opened his eyes to see a sight of a familiar ceiling, he's in his own room.

"what am I.."

he raised a hand and rub his aching beating head, probably the impact from his fall to the hard ground. he carefully brought himself to lean at the wall and recall what happened.

in the exact moment, the sound of the wooden door creaking made he turned his attention to the entrance. a familiar friend was pushing the door with a feet as the person carefully hold a tray of food into his room.

it was you.

you looked up to meet his gaze and your face brightens, quickly step foward to his bed.

"Saihara! you awake. I'm glad that you're okay."

"hold up, no you're not. you collapsed. what happened?"

"I bet it's because you're too into your work! oh and anyways, you should be eating first. we'll talk later."

you lifted a plate of Omelette to his lap and gave him a spoon and a fork, along with a glass of water that you put at the table by his side. you also prepared him some apple slices, too.

he wanted to answer you first, but the food before his eyes are super mouth watering especially when he starved himself since yesterday and only took those bitter coffee plus noodle cups. so he took a bite, and another, and another.

"I cooked that. it's delicious, isn't it? simple but I think you don't have the energy to chew on fancy meals anyway"

he nodded.

and embarrassed with the fact that you're gazing at his features as he eat. but that made him realized that you're super concerned of him and made him blush even harder.

you're such an angel.

he was eyeing on the apple slice but he took the water instead. you noticed this and smile a little,

"I know you wanted it. it's for you anyway."

"ah, yes.."

Shuichi shyly grabbed the apple slices and put a few in his mouth. the juices of the fruit filled the caravan of his mouth, refreshing his entire body.

he looked so cute like this,

after finishing his dish, he wiped his mouth with a tissue and put the plate on his table.

"thank you, (name). I think I did collapsed on my way here. did you brought me in too? thank you again, haha.."

"don't haha me, mister. how dare you neglected your health like that. maybe I should've follow you to your office and become your caretaker for the time being."

"ahahah, please don't be.., I finished the case so I won't be like this again. sorry for making you worried and troubled you, (name)."

his replies are weak

but your heart is weaker to scold him in his unstable state.

"it's alright, Saihara. but please don't overwork yourself again in the future."

you said as you put the cutlery in the tray, ready to be washed.

"ah and also!"

you faced him, who was seemed to be blushing. (but you didn't say anything)

"thank you so much for helping me, (name). I wouldn't know what to do without you. and for you to go as far as cooking something for me, I wish I could repay you.."

"....you can repay me by taking a rest, Saihara. and it's my responsibility to look after you, after all. I'm just doing my job here."

you removed your eyes and now looking at anything that's not him, red streaks are visible at your cheeks.

"and when the time comes, I'll surely take care of you too, (name). but no, actually no, I'll always do my best to take care of you as the returning favour too.."

and now you two are blushing like crazy. wahahah

you immediately excused yourself to the cafeteria/kitchen (whatever) and brought your tray with you.

"(name)!"

you stopped your tracks to see him, humming.

"well, um, can you come back after washing the dishes? I.. I think I haven't spend much time with you this whole time s-so I thought.."

"I thought I can reclaim the times now.."

your eyes were widen by the statement, biting your lower inner lip as a way to hold your urge to scream.

you're so in love with this man.

".. I told you to rest, idiot."

"I'll be back!"

you raced to the kitchen and did everything you need to, unknowingly smiling by yourself and excited to to return to him.

Kagehara(Pregame Shuichi) Comfort Alphabet

A ction - What do they do when their s/o is hurt, what action do they take?

Kage is always right there for them and he’s very good at helping patch up wounds (he has a bit of experience). He’ll take them home right away (if they weren’t already there) and straight to bed with them. He’ll take care of whatever they need from him.

B eat - What do they do when they find their s/o beaten up?

First he’ll patch them up take them home and make sure they have everything takes care of for them. Second he’ll track down whoever did it and let’s just say you can’t prove it was him. You never see the person again.

C omfort - How would they comfort s/o in general?

Lots of hugs and kisses, he’s always ready to tell you what you need to hear, hug you, kiss, and just smother you in affection. He’ll bring your favorite show or activity and stay with you for how ever long you need, no questions asked.

D ead - How do they comfort their s/o when they’re grieving?

Kage’s right by their side, he’s never not their (unless asked to leave) but even then he’s still near. He’ll reassure you that everything will be alright. You’re his beautiful angel and he’s right hear for you.

E qual - Do they get comfort back from their s/o or not?

Yes Kage gets lots of comfort back form his s/o, they’re always to help him. That is when they notice luckily for them Shuichi’s not the best at hiding his emotions you’ll notice him avoiding you when he’s upset.

F ight - How would they comfort their s/o after a fight? Are they the first to forgive?

Kage’s always ready to forgive his s/o no matter what happened he wants them to feel safe and loved even if he’s mad at them.

S/o’s always SUPER grateful for the comfort Kage gives them.

NEVER Shuichi never wants to bother his s/o when he’s down, so he’ll just keep it in and never tell them.

Yup, though Shuich’s not the best actor so he’ll end up just avoiding his s/o so you can tell when he’s upset.

Kagehara’s very attentive to his s/o so whenever they’re upset he can tell.

Nope Shuichi never jokes when he’s comforting his s/o, he does’t see it as the right time.

Yup Kagehara gives lots of kisses when he’s comforting his s/o. They get covered in kisses.

Kage’s actually really good at comforting his s/o so it only takes a few to 10 minutes for him to calm them down.

M ad - If they are mad at their s/o do they still comfort them?

OH you know he will, even when mad Shuichi’s always there for you, he loves you no matter what.

N ighmare - How do they comfort their s/o when they have a nightmare?

Lots of cuddles and watching whatever s/o wants even if he doesn’t like it. He’ll watch it for them and snuggle till they feel better.

O pen - Is their s/o open when they need comfort from them?

s/o is mostly open but sometimes they feel insecure about it. But no worries Kage’s always knows when you need something.

P arents - If their s/o has parent issues how do they help them?

Kage understands so he’s really good at helping comfort his s/o when things come up. and if they have to see/meet up with their parents Shuichi’s right there with you, he’ll defend you even though he terrified himself.

Q uirk - Some random thing their s/o does that always makes feel comfortable.

When ever Shuichi’s rambling about what he loves. It’s very comforting to see him really happy.

R omance - How do they comfort them after a break up? (if they weren’t dating)

He’s right there for you, he’ll reassure you that you’re the most amazing person in the world. and once you’ve calmed down you know he’ll go find you ever broke your heart and well it didn’t go well for them. He may be shy but he’s very observant and this helps him.

S urprise - Are they comfortable with surprises?

Kage’s not the best when it comes to surprises he’ll try and let his s/o surprise him if they like that, but sometimes it makes him panic-y.

T ext - Are they good at comforting their s/o over text?

OH you bet he his, Kage’s the master of everything (how he learned these skill you’ll never know) but he’s the best at it. You fell so loved when you turn off your phone, and then he’s at your door, you just love him (that is if you want him to be).

Shuichi knows everything they need and is the best at doing it. He’s right there for them.

He’ll reassure his angle’s the best person in the world, you’ve helped him so much! You’re amazing! He’ll tell you so much and make you feel so loved.

If you can’t handle something Kage will give you his hat even though he never takes it off you loves this cause he cares that much to give you his most comforting item.

His ways with words, he may stutter a lot but Kage’s a poet when it comes to how he formulates his sentences.

Just him asking if you’re comfortable with everything even if it can get annoying it means he really loves you and never want you to feel uncomfortable.

He'll cover his honest smile at seeing you so happy by giggling at you and teasing you.

But oh? Oh you're going to kiss him? Please do, he will never let you go that's it, you're stuck with him for the rest of the day, you try leaving and he's whining at you. He's demanding kisses and attention, you haven't even kisses him at all today ! (You kissed him thirty seconds ago, but that's pretty much the same thing, right?)

Shuichi Saihara :

He's so stutter-y every time you kiss him, but not even once will this man complain. He'll go stiff and bright pink, but if you laugh and ask him if he wants any more he'll shyly nod and then - 'ohbutyoudonthavetoonlyifyouwantto-' very very quickly. He goes so silent as well, the second you stop and kiss his cheek goodbye because you have to go do this or that, he's touching his fingers against the areas you just kissed and smiling to himself with a beating heart.

It's like a first kiss every time to him.

He gets bolder the longer you two are together, hesitantly pressing kisses against you and feeling a sense of pride when you get just as flustered as he does - he really can't help the little giggle at your reaction. He's not as vocal about it, but he's very happy you enjoy kissing him and letting him kiss you, he loves it just as much as you do.

Shuichi Saihara

Shuichi is pretty insecure and shy so it would take him a while to get used to be in a relasionship, althought he can be determinanted too, so for knowing that you correspond his feelings he won't doubt on taking the oportunity to be in a relasionship and try his best

Even before start dating Shuichi always makes clear that you can count on him, he cares for you so if you ever need help he is willing to do it, however he doesn't like to pry much in your personal life, and even in a relasionship he doesn't fully understand how much he is allowed to ask

Even if you normally keep your music box on your pocket or even hiden it won't take him much time before notice it, but, then again, he doesn't want to pry or exceed your limits if you don't want to talk about it. Although, it is something that would stay in his mind for a while, wondering if it would be alright for him to ask, giving little glances at your pocket music box from time to time but don't really ask

It has to be you who decides to tell him about it or that he finally gives up and manage to ask you about it, he is intriged of why you carry it around and want to know as much as you are willing to tell him, and no matter your reasoning (either for be a comfort item or just because you like having it with you) he won't judge you and will just accept it, it isn't something that it wouldn't bother him at all

Depending on why you carry it it would be Shuichi's next course of action, if it is because is because of an special meaning for you he will want to know more (if you allow him to know more, of course) and probably will give it the same importante you give to it, the same as is if is a comfort item, in this case he will try to be carefuly with it if you ever let him hold it or if you leave it somewhere around (like if he sees it in your dorm or your ultimate lab). If you just carry it because you like it then he will be more calm about it but still sees it as something important for you, but will hesitant less in asking you if he can hold it

The first time you let it hold it he probably will pay attention to the details, like the form, the music it plays, the tiny decorations, is just like a second nature for him to be so observant and curious, once he snaps out of his trance he will apologize with an embarrased blush and say how beautiful the pocket music box is

Since is important to you Shuichi takes care of it, making sure it never hits the ground or not letting in Kokochi's hands of someone that can break it, unless you are completely sure to trust them with it. As well he always knows where it is, somehow, he know that you have it but whenever he notice you aren't carrying it with you he can make himself an idea of where it could be or if he notice it is somewhere he will either keep in mind where it is or directly take it and give it to you (if it is somewhere you wouldn't put it intentionally)

If you ever lose it and he doesn't know where it is he offer you to search it with you without hesitantion, even if you aren't upset or desperate he is already thinking where it could be, althought if you are upset for losing it he will be more rushed to help you, depending in how upset you are is how much he will be stressing himself out to help you find it. Despite his stress is probably that it won't take much time for him to find it, still if is definetly lost Shuichi will still think about it for days, until he finally run out of ideas and will deeply apologize to you, almost as if it was him who lost it

Kokichi Ouma

Kokichi can be really reserved despite always acting so wild, so giving himself a chance to be in a relationship is going to be until he know that he can trust you that you two can start a relasionship, and even so it would be a slow process for Kokichi to be able to open up with you

Although, unlike him, Kokichi does expect for you to open up to him and, wanting or not, Kokichi will know a lot about you just by watching you, he is incredibly observant and perseptive so is just like a second nature for him

Even if you don't tell him he will find out about your pocket music box, depending in how much you hide it and how playful he feels in that moment it would determinate if he ask you about it right away and if he tries to borrow it to look at it better. Kokichi is really curious about it and won't even try to hide it, he will ask you a lot of things about the pocket music box, most of his questions sound silly but he is trying to pry as much information as he can

Kokichi knows how important this is for you so this is important for him too, however he doesn't show it, he acts as if it was a simple souvenir without value but he actually makes sure no one else take even a glance at it (unless you are fine with showing it to others too, in that case he will still do it but only in a playful manner)

Kokichi will know the story behing your music box soon or later, if is just something simple like you bought it because you find it cute it would take him a while to grap his head around to why it is so important to you, but if it has a special meaning like being a comfort iteam or a gift from someone important he will be more respectful of it in less time (but may be jealous if someone outside of your family was the one who gave it to you and will try to kinda fight against it and give you something way better, according to him)

His curiousity not only goes for the story behind it, he wants to have the opportunity to hold it close and see all the little details of the little pocket music box, but he is kinda embarrassed by it so he acts like he doesn't care and try to borrow it for a moment to appreciate without you noticing

Unless Kokichi sees it somewhere he always asumes that you have the pocket music box with you, if some day you lose it he tries to remember if he had saw it before or if he has it in his possession, depending in how upset you are by losing it will be his reaction, going from teasing you and messing with you or immediatly getting serious (and a little worried)

If he had borrow it without telling you and that is why you don't find it he will feel a little ashame and embarrassed but won't admit it and will try to leave it somewhere you usually you put it (even if it is in your pocket, he'll try), even call you silly for not looking for it well

He tries his best to help you find it and since he is really smart and sneaky it won't be much troubles for him, but if at the end he has to ask for someone's help he will ask to Kirumi (and probably with little cocodrile tears in his eyes)

Rantaro Amami

Rantaro can be pretty calm while being in a relasionship but that doesn't make him any less affectionate, he has not shame to show how much he loves you and does it in direct and indirect ways

Even if Rantaro isn't too obvious with it he is really interested on you as a person, he wants to know what you like and dislike, what you are interested on and so on, also he is really observant and perceptive so he will get to know a lot about you by just paying attention

At some point he will find out about the pocket music box you always carry around, even if you don't tell him directly he will know at some point and he is really curious about it, Rantaro will probably ask you about it right away but it would depend in your reactiom to what he does next, if you are startled he may apologize (specially if you haven't say anything about it before), but if you don't have troubles with showing him the pocket music box he will want to be able to hold it (if you prefer to not he will be disapointed but will respect your wishes)

If you allow him he will like to take a moment to appreciate it, it doesn't take him long to noticed the details of the design and actually give it back to you while complimenting it

Rantaro is pretty curious about why you always carry it but only ask depending your reaction, if it seems like is too especial or something you prefer to keep to yourself he won't ask, but if doesn't seems to be something too private then he will ask about it. Rantaro asumes that it has a special meaning for you since you always carry it, but if is because more simple reason (like you just like carrying it around because you find it cute) he will just find it amusing, but at the end, regardless of your reason to carry it around he respect it and treats the pocket music box like something really special

Somehow Rantaro always know if you have it with you or not, he is just really observant and since is something important for you is something important for him, he also has an idea where you leave it whenever you don't have it with you (he probably already had saw you leaving it in your dorm or in your ulrimate lab)

If you ever lose it Rantaro will be there to help you search for it almost immediatly, first of all he wants for you to calm down (in case you are getting anxious or estress for it) and try to remeber when was the last time you saw it, Rantaro tries to think where it could be, it would be strange to just lose it for how much you care for it, however he never says anything that could sound as blaming you

He has no problem with asking the others if they had saw it and even ask Kirumi's help (is almost imposible for her to don't find it), Rantaro seems calm while searching but a lot of thoughts and posibilities are crossing his mind, and in the rare case you don't manage to find it he will feel truly sorry, as if it was him who lose something important (but will focus on comforting you)

DRV3 Boys x Ultimate Cargiver! Reader

GONTA GOKUHARA

Despite Gonta being bigger than you, you still wanted to take care of him. When he was hungry, you'd make him something to eat. "Woah! Gonta thanks Y/N very much!" He said whenever you would set food down in front of him. After a while, you started doing more for him, wiping his face if he got his face messy, offering to do his laundry, and it started to confuse him. "Why Y/N taking care of Gonta?" He would question when you did a little something more for him, then you mumbled out a response something about loving to take care of him he didn't question you anymore letting you take care of him and also enjoying it.

Kiibo (K1-B0)

There wasn't much you could do for him to take care of him except let him know when he should probably go to Miu for a checkup because his antenna was broke or things like he was responding slower anything that could help him in the long run.

KAITO MOMOTA

Kaito wasn't all that happy when you would try to take care of him, making him feel belittled by you. Every time, you did little things for him to take care of him, bandaging any wounds he had gotten, cooking him food, or attempting to brush his hair for him. But he knew you being the ultimate caregiver you were, you'd never stop eventually getting used to everything you did for him.

KOKICHI OUMA

Kokichi was surprised whenever you'd take care of him not having very many people care for him in any way eventually teasing you about it or making unearthly demands "Hey Y/N~ You should kill Miu for me~ Nishishi!~" He'd giggle out. You never liked it when he joked about trying to get you to kill someone for him, saying it'd make him feel better.

KOREKIYO SHINGUJI

Korekiyo wasn't really surprised when you would take care of him knowing your Ultimate didn't make it that hard to figure out, especially when you'd take care of others but you seemed to mainly take care of him the most doing extensive things for him cleaning up his study, or brushing his long hair for him eventually he started to get used to it enjoying when you'd take care of him.

RANTARO AMAMI

Rantaro, being the ultimate adventurer, would get hurt quite a lot, and whenever he did, you would tend to the wounds careful not to hurt him pressing a kiss to the bandaged wound Rantaro enjoyed when you cared for him it made him feel quite loved and he loved your cooking too.

RYOMA HOSHI

Ryoma, being short, immediately thought you only took care of him because of his small stature getting irritated when you'd care for him, but eventually, he got used to it he still didn't enjoy being cared for but he wasn't going to argue with you knowing it'd only make you upset in the end.

SHUICHI SAIHARA

Shuichi was quite shy about it, but never expressing it, letting you take care of him, he started to enjoy when you would take care of him, mumbling out soft thanks you's with a small smile.

When you give him the flower crown, he would be so happy. What a cute declaration of affection, Y/N! He would ask you to help him pick out flowers for the crown he's making for you. He wants both of you to match!

» Kaede »

Honestly, she's so touched by this gesture. She would admire your handiwork before putting it on her head. What do you think? Does it look good on her? She loves the colors of the flowers you chose. And now since you made her something, she needs to go and write a song on the piano for you!

» Kirumi »

She doesn't really know what to say when you hand it to her. Normally she does things for others so it's odd to have someone do something for her. But she's very appreciative. She would treasure your gift.

Honestly, he's shocked that you're giving it to him of all people! But he can't help but feel like he needs to go around to the others and brag about it. Wait, you didn't make one for someone else, did you, Y/N? That's not fair if you did! Answer carefully or he might pull off every flower petal on it (It's a lie!).

She's confused about why you gave her a flower crown. But she's not going to reject it; that'd be rude. She liked you a lot so she might blush when she put it on her head and tell her how good it looks. And she would listen intently when you tell her about some of the meanings of the flowers.

She's smug about it. Of course you would make one for her! But if you're trying to get brownie points from her, you're gonna have to try harder than that. But on the inside, she's melting & malfunctioning. Especially since she doesn't know how to react to your cute gesture.

» Rantaro »

He was the one who had taught you how to make flower crowns, but he didn't expect you to give him the one you were making. But what a coincidence this was! He was making one for you as well. He would also tell you a few facts about the flowers you chose that he heard on some of his adventures.
