Imagine a short story centered around Jumin’s birthday CG? Him waking up to MC and the cake she prepared… or something like that 👀

You were filled with excitement from the minute that you woke up. It was your first time celebrating Jumin's birthday with him. It was kind of a shame that he had some major meetings to take care of the day before so he passed out almost as soon as he had laid down on top of the bed. You didn't wake him, though. You made sure that he had the time to sleep through the night while you sorted out the rest of those details for him.

He was a lavish man who had known parties of all kinds... and while what you had to offer was something smaller in nature, you knew he would be able to appreciate that. He loved the little things and it was a better idea to give him that home experience than it was to send a world of gifts to his door. He loved being with you. He loved knowing he was allowed to experience stuff that he never got himself as a boy.

You made a world open up to him that he never once considered. You brought out hope in him that he hadn't felt in a long time. This is why it meant so much to you to give him a morning that he would never be able to forget. He always made sure that you felt like there was no chance that you could be without love. He made you feel like love was eternal.

Jumin deserved the world because he was your world.

That's why you knew spending the morning working on a homemade cake would really send you over the edge! With Elizabeth watching as you worked, there wasn't anything you couldn't achieve. Well, she did try to dip her paws into the batter a few times, but you easily placated her with the plush toy that Seven had left behind. She had torn many parts of it to ribbons.

It kept her busy, at least.

It took a while to make everything just right, and by the time you had allowed yourself to glance at the clock, you realized that the sun was already coming up. Jumin was an early bird. He wasn't one to linger in bed for a while in the morning... even if it was his day off. He liked it a lot more when he was able to get things done. The morning was his hobby time.

With a quiet chuckle, you and Elizabeth made your way back into the bedroom. She hopped onto the bed on his left side while you took the other side. She let out a mighty "meow" but it didn't do much to wake the sleeping beauty. You looked down at the cake on your lap and let your eyes look back at him for a moment to see how charming it was to see him like this.

His hair was messy, his shirt unbuttoned, and paperwork was left out on the bed after he'd put something done to rest his eyes. He always wanted to do his best... even if he had to take it home. You were very proud to be his partner at the end of the day, but even he deserved a day where he didn't have to do anything but be spoiled rotten by his loved ones.

Nobody would ever know the real Jumin Han... but you were grateful you knew him.

Jumin's eyes quietly began to flutter open as the sun caressed his cheek. You smiled when he realized that you were hovering over him like this... getting a glimpse into his dreamland that only he would've known. "Happy birthday, dearest. I hope you don't mind that darling Elizabeth and I decided to start your day off right. We've made you something."

He smiled back at you. "You've already made my life exceedingly warm, my love. But, I am curious to see what my two most precious people have made for me today."

And now here they are. They are so free of fear that they can fall asleep like this: in the open, in broad daylight. Nobody's coming for them. Saeyoung is deeply asleep, and he's not afraid: look at the way his arm is flung over his head! It's careless, and casual, and thoughtless. He's not reaching for a weapon; he's resting. And Saeran is holding that shark plushie so tight, and you just know he's dreaming of his beloved. He's never slept with someone in his arms before—not till he met you. He's got one knee bent, because he's imagining throwing his leg over you as he sleeps—and he doesn't have his back to a wall, because he knows he's not going to have to defend himself from anyone.

They're safe. They're tired. They're happy.

And who is standing over them, smiling, watching them rest? Who's crying a little bit because they look so beautiful? Who took this picture (to tease them with later)?

The bad endings in Saeran’s AE scare me. Every time, you sacrifice or give up on him a different way. Over and over, he’s suffering. What makes it worse than the bad endings in his original route (in my opinion, at least) is that he’s seen the light with the help of you. You, the MC, were the one who dedicated your time and risked your life to protect him. He’s finally learned what it’s like to be truly happy.

And you just… give that all up so soon? The heartbreak is simply worse because now he’s no longer the timid Ray you first met. Now he’s able to understand right from wrong. On top of that, he’s now fully aware that you’re working with Rika—the morally wrong one. But he endures it all because it’s you.

Sorry for my ramble haha. It’s 2 A.M. and I love talking about his after ending.

Yes, exactly. You get it! I've talked about this one before in my After Ending guide, and really all of the Bad Endings and Sad Endings. This is isn't a thing like the BEs in Ray Route, that's because it is well beyond the point of you understanding all that Saeran thinks. By this point, you should get what he wants and who he is. If you go against it in any way, if you turn against him in any way at this point?

You're breaking him.

Because, he fully understands what you'll be doing to him and you understand what you'll be doing to him by this. It's not a matter of being manipulated in Mint Eye to see the "light", or degrading somebody you decided to keep as this pet, or breaking down because you don't understand Suit Saeran.

This is actively telling Saeran to run away. This is not standing by his side when you know things are likely to blow up. This is you not running back to fight next to him against evil. This is throwing his heart and desires away to keep Saeran as a puppet with Rika. This is disrespectfully using Saeran as a happy machine for your heart while his desires are thrown away.

These endings hurt because you actively choose to go against Saeran and your gut after knowing who he is as a person and what he wants. You've taken his desires and crushed them. In some of the endings, it isn't because you hurt him, it just because you don't trust your stomach and let him do this alone.

You agreed to do this together and he really doesn't want to be alone. You have to trust him and stand by his side, not throw his heart away for your pleasure alone.

You know he wants freedom. You know he wants his twin to be free. You know everything he wants because he's whispered it to you at night when he has held you closely.

You know what his heart badly wants and if you get a Bad Ending or a Sad Ending, well, you hurt him knowingly in a huge chunk of them. That hurts. For the few endings that are just doubt and fear, that hurts too, but Christ, these ones? I can't even think about the one where you team up with Rika because it's tenfold worse than BE3.

Ray tried his best to listen to your whims. It didn't matter what you asked, he was trying his best to give you everything that you wanted to have no matter what.

It was hard when you asked for him to do a lot of things that went against his workload and what his Savior really wanted him to do instead.

She wanted him to keep working as hard as he could... and he knew that he kind of wanted the same thing because their goal was meant to be the same thing. It was supposed to be working together to get rid of those that hurt them and others.

At the cost of his health.

A small sacrifice.

Worth it, he wanted to believe, with bleary eyes and trembling palms that warned him that he needed to drink more sugar and eat sweets to stay awake. It wasn't all that bad, but when he passed out with you on the phone during his worst nights...

He always felt so guilty.

However, he woke up early this morning with a lot of energy.

The messenger was busy and he couldn't do anything because he would be caught, so he decided that he could try and see you in the sunlight for once. He had a pep in his step as he headed towards your room and tapped on the door.

Ray didn't realize how fast that he had been walking. He just knew that you wanted him to rest and he wanted to prove to you that he was capable of doing that. You were awake at that hour, setting down your phone when you realized that he was standing in the doorway.

"Ray, you're back!"

"Yes, I... I got some sleep as you wanted."

That brought a smile to your lips. You had a bounce in your step as you hopped across the room and brushed your lips against his cheek with a giggle. "Good job, Ray. You're a good boy. Thank you for trying to get some rest."

His eyes widened. Ray started to burn up but you could see a smile brewing on his face. He wanted to laugh and you wanted to keep that look in his eyes. "...I'll keep trying my best, prince/ss."

I don’t think I’ll be mentally prepared for his CG.

Saeran has never really had friends in his life. Sure, there were times when he was able to talk to some people but that wasn't really like having friends. He was constantly paranoid that someone was going to use a connection with him to hurt him. So he never really got close to other people. It wasn't until you came into his life that he learned that not everything was scary and that the world wasn't such a bad place.

Though, it's definitely culture shock to go from an environment that he was in to the one where he is now.

The RFA are very compassionate and supportive. He's never had that before. It's overwhelming to think that people might actually want to really celebrate him. He and his brother spent so long just holding on to each other because that's all they had. The idea alone is overwhelming to think that maybe someone wants to think of him fondly. His birthday was never a good day.

But, now? What can you do?

I think he's really excited to be able to have that. Of course, he really wants to spend the day with you the most. But, the fact that he might be able to hang out with people who want to see him for once in his life kind of makes him happy. At the same time, it's a little bit overwhelming. So I understand him tossing and turning. Going from having nothing to having everything is a lot.

I don't think any of them would give him a real surprise party. He's not really great with big surprises and it would be better for his mental health but them to tell him what they're planning. That wouldn't take away from the situation but it would allow him to be more comfortable.

He would be well aware of the situation and he would be overcome with anxious excitement. The notion is enough to make me smile because he's never had this before. But he wants it and he's not going to turn it down. He can't wait to be able to enjoy time with his new family. You and the RFA.

But seriously, your post really made me realize how unfamiliar they are with each other after being separated for so many years. Everything they had to go through was so extreme, yet they endured it all. It's so unfortunate that they couldn't live peacefully and were filled with this silent sense of confused desolation for so long.

Now that the final story, Saeran's AE, has been released, I'm beyond glad to see them reunited. I don't think words could describe how happy I am, honestly. Blissful, maybe?

I'm just.. so grateful that Cheritz introduced us to these boys! I'm thankful that we, as the MC, could stand right by their side, helping them during their worst times.

Yes, that exactly. I don't really see people talk about this a lot but I really wish that they did. It doesn't matter if it's after the Secret Ending or Saeran's AE. The sentiment remains that they just don't know each other. It's really painful to think about and it gets to me sometimes so I try not to think about it but it's definitely something that cannot be ignored.

It's been so long since they saw each other and there's no denying that they are different people than the young boys who once clutched at each other to try and survive everything that was trying to hurt them. That's not a bad thing. It's just a sad thing at times because they weren't able to grow up together properly.

They're going to have a lot of moments as they start to learn about each other where they feel a sense of culture shock. That is to say, one of them will say something to the other, and it won't quite click. They've just had different experiences and it really affects the way that they interact with the rest of the world. You saw that in the events, how Saeyoung what is really lamenting about the fact that he really didn't know his brother.

That stung him and I feel like he was really masking it by trying to make it seem like it was a joke. That has to hurt him in ways that I cannot even explain to you. But, he adapted really well in the event, and he changed it so it would be something that he could enjoy and that Saeran could enjoy. Like, Saeyoung loves fishing, but Saeran feels bad for the bait-

The two of them are going to have to learn how to interact with each other. It's going to be interesting to see how that shapes their lives and how they learn how to become a family again. It's something that would be amazing to see even though it would be a little messy. But, life is like that. It's messy.

I'm just really happy to know that they're going to have each other and nobody's going to try to rip them apart again. I know the RFA and us MCs would never let anyone hurt those boys ever again. They deserve to be able to live their lives happily ever after. They never wanted to be separated, but now that they're back together, they will not be separated again.

And, yeah. I have to agree with that. These boys and the RFA have been here for me in the most difficult years of my life. These past five years have been really hard for me but they were always there. They were always there when I felt scared, isolated, or lost. Seeing them find joy, freedom, and peace gives me hope for myself.

I hope it does for others, too.

Ain't that the truth, buddy. It always hurts when it comes to the Bad Endings and the Sad Endings. Some of them are darker and some of them are... well, sadder. It just depends on which one you're thinking, and really, they're all going to hurt in their own way at the end of the day.

Be there with him, but don't tell him what to do. Hold his hand and remind him to believe in his choices, and give advice if he asks, but always ask what he wants. Never assume that you know. Have faith in each other and that's how you get the Good Ending.

I saw the title screen and my heart stopped for a brief moment, AAH.

Zen, Yoosung, Jumin, and Jaehee look amazing, but of course the twins really caught my attention first. Like, it still feels surreal that they’re finally united. Just look at how happy our boys are.

Saeran is shyly blushing as he’s holding out the ticket. It’s almost as if you can hear him saying, “My love, are you ready?”.. LOL.

And Saeyoung is smiling so genuinely while he’s behind his brother. No more having to worry about his identity or faking his emotions.

I’m just beyond happy that they’re happy, that’s all. And I don’t think words could describe my joy for them, as corny as that may sound. 🎷🐛

Yeah, you put it into words. I just finished writing out my thoughts and that's exactly the feeling. Saeran is bashful, sweet, and it almost feels like this was a surprise to you. This is a surprise family vacation and we're all together for the first time. Saeran wants to show us that he loves the RFA, too.

That we can all be together after all this time. Saeyoung's being who he is. He's happy, he's weightless, he's smiling and free. He and his twin are free and I've been crying since I woke up. That's what stands out to me because seeing them together this happy...

It's so different than the Secret Ending, and I'm so happy to see them like this. I wish there was a CG like this in the SE. Where they're kind of happy, even if it's bittersweet.

Yeah, exactly. He has a very simple manner of speaking that just cuts through to the bone. It's just really sweet that he's able to be so honest about his feelings for once. Like, I hope people are able to realize just how far he's come to be able to be this expressive with how he feels.

This wasn't something that was easy to him.

The fact that he's able to be so open and direct with you when it comes to his emotions is a testament to how much growth he has had. He is not ashamed of himself when he says that he loves you and that he's thinking of you. He knows that you care for him too and that's what makes him feel alive. It is unbelievably sweet. I'm so proud of him.
